Jikook Week 27 Complete ✔️(11/06 - 18/06/2024)

Their twenty seventh week in the military is now complete. They are hanging in there even though it is far from being the place either of them really want to be. Physically they look well but their handwritten Festa letters speak to how much they miss performing. I hope the fact that there is now less than a year to go and that Jin is out there carrying the BTS torch for them all will give them strength to continue even on the most tedious and slow days.

This week we celebrate another seven days under their belt with a look at what they were up to in June 2019.

Festa 2019 was in full swing and on 11/06 Big Hit released this JK memories of BTS video with a Euphoria remix as a backing track. Lots and lots of JK and Jimin is either there in front of the camera with him (albeit mostly cropped out) or behind the camera with lens focused lovingly on his Jungkook. They've been causing problems for Big Hit content editors for years.

For the big day itselt (13/06) Jimin prepared a gift for ARMY. It's the first time I've ever seen this video and I love how he captures the personality of each of the members (Hobi and RM in particular are hilarious) as well as giving us a glimpse of what it means to go on tour together.

It was a time of peak happiness for the BTS team before COVID sent them spiraling along with the rest of the planet. The BTS Festa dinner that year was Bangtan Attic a festival of yellow and purple. Gone were the doubts of the previous year and they had a pretty frank and humorous conversation about their past, their present and future.

There is so much going on here it's difficult to pick out highlights but one thing is very clear, BTS really begin to move forward as a team when the powers that be let Jin and Jimin drop the personas they had been assigned at debut and let them be themselves.

On 15-16/06, BTS were in Busan for 5th Muster Magic Shop.

5th Muster is one of the holy grails of jikook's history so much so that there are already full posts exploring this concert series including this amazing post by @wingzie. The ring incident in Busan still has me scratching my head. We never heard anything about it after that day.

The Busan boys were also in action on Vlive while BTS was in Busan. Jimin went live on the 15/06 and was positively glowing. The show had gone well and he was still on a high from the overseas tour. He wanted us to know how thankful he was for ARMY's support. He showed us Gwangan Bridge all lit up in purple...

... and he spent time talking about his martial arts training including cutting bamboo, newspaper slicing and extinguishing candles with a sword (a skill he retains to this day).

The next day it was Jungkook's turn. His room set up was identical to Jimin's so also overlooking the river but he had the blinds down so no view of the Gwangan Bridge that night.

He was in an excellent mood and opened a bottle of wine to celebrate - just two glasses - a rule he has since put aside. He talked about how he wanted to get back to GCF filming but with their schedule he hadn't been able to settle upon a topic.

He explained that he couldn't make the live very long because some of the staff were staying up to monitor it and wouldn't be able to rest until he had finished. This is what he said about that.

"We need to be considerate of others. Only then can we understand each other and get close to each other and become one"

I don't think he was still talking about the staff at this point. Look at that cheeky satisfied smile behind the glass. Happy times in 2019.

Tbh I hate the video that Jungkook posted for Jimin's birthday. First of all, the only reaction that he got from it is Armys screaming about the fact that Jk was hot and sexy and blah blah. People already forgot that it was for Jimin's birthday and some people even deleted the last part. Also, Jungkook was in a hotel in Busan, Jimin was in Seoul. The video "for Jimin's birthday" basically became a taekook evidence, because Jk left Jimin to go to Busan with Tae the day of Jimin's birthday. Also there is the theory that Jungkook is ashamed of Jimin, or he doesn't want to be associated with him, in fact he stopped sharing pics with him. The last selca or photo of Jimin posted by Jk was in 2019. Anyway, I don't see that Jungkook video for Jimin, because it's only Jungkook the main character there. He didn't say nothing nice or cute about Jimin. It's basically a video about Jungkook himself, showing that he is sexy with glasses.

I don’t think JK is ashamed of Jimin. He doesn’t ever act like it; not on stage, not in bangtan bombs, not on vlives, and certainly not in that video you hate.

I thought it was cute 🤷‍♀️ I don’t think JK was looking for a reaction from anyone but Jimin himself. And based on what we know about their personalities, I’m guessing Jimin cracked the fuck up when he saw it and they had a great time laughing about it together. Idk, what do you want me to say?

Also… just… like, why? You said yourself the video is sexy. So WHY post a sexy video of yourself for your platonic friend’s birthday? Why THAT friend? Why on his birthday? JK is already a main character honey, have you seen his follower count lately? He could have posted that kind of video whenever he wanted and gotten a rise out of fans. But for whatever reason, he addressed it to Jimin as a birthday message. So why? I’m genuinely asking - why?

You honestly sound like you’re suggesting that Jimin is Jungkook’s sworn enemy and he posted it as some kind of fiendish way to take the focus off of Jimin and put it on himself instead (which, he waited until the last possible minute to post it, perhaps suggesting that he probably knew it would catch fire and he was letting Jimin have his day before his post attracted a bunch of attention but that’s just a possibility). That would suggest that JK is actually just a huge jerk. That we’ve completely misread his personality all these years, that every celebrity and industry professional that says he’s great is lying, that Jimin is ridiculously affectionate and doting on a guy who is just plain mean to him.

That, or JK’s trying to orchestrate a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers arc with his own bandmate. Because posting a hot video of yourself wishing your enemy a happy birthday to steal their thunder and also get a rise out of them is some wattpad shit.

All that to say, lighten up. You’re taking a video between two people who are clearly friends (maybe more but we KNOW they’re at least good friends) and making it into something negative and cynical. If that’s how you see the guys and their interactions with each other on social media, maybe you should take a break from the fandom. And I mean that genuinely, from one person to another. Cause I guarantee you, Jungkook did not post that video with evil, self-focused intentions.

I've only recently caught up with jikook moments/clips from the Busan concert and I genuinely am so confused as to what went down between them to act that way... means they neither seem very close to be shipped nor too detached/cold to be said they're fighting.

But most of their interactions seemed initiated by JM while jk would seek tae over JM onstage and this has been happening since the PTD tour

Also in some moments when jk would meet eyes with JM randomly he seemed to stop smiling once they were no longer facing each other and I saw this happen more than twice

Then when they were leaving the stage he runs away from jimin after JM tries putting his hand on his shoulder

But he also was very enthusiastic abt singing JM his happy birthday song so idk lol

Then the vlive too they don't seem to be on the best terms rn

I've been saying this since muster 2021 LOL. I mean, I already said last year that they don't seem to have the same chemistry on stage and that they don't seem to have as much fun together as they used to in 2019 and the years before, and I still think the same. There wasn't much chemistry in 2020 shows either, but that time I didn't think too much of it because of the pandemic and all, they're humans and their moods were affected as everyone else's.

In 2021, howeverrrr... They were the odd one out for me, and not in a good way🤷‍♀️ because everybody else was having a lot of fun together on stage, except the two of them together. LV was an exception maybe, but Jungkook in those concerts in general was VERY flirty with everyone, not only with Jimin.

I'm saying this taking into account the shows they've had in the past year and this year, but I don't believe Jimin initiates a lot of moments either, he just doesn't seem to be into it like before. I think Jimin has been vibing by himself more often than not and Busan was no exception. I really haven't seen him look for JK as much as he used to during shows.

They don't seem to be on bad terms, that's a bit dramatic. Unless they're lying and pretending to be friends, they seem okay. Okay as in friends just like everyone else and nothing more.

Jikook and 5th Muster

Jimin and Jungkook tend to orbit each other’s galaxies during concerts. Often with meaningful touches, heartfelt words and gentle looks. Something which is ever present in 5th Muster Magic Shop from 2019.

With the 5th Muster opening up in Busan on 15th June, it was rather Jikook heavy and you could tell how happy they were in their hometown. Not only during the concert itself, but also in the DVD with the behinds. For Magic Shop, Jikook had a unit for a holographic photocard and a postcard. They were also quite heavily featured in the VCR, which had flirty tones and confirmed that Jimin was indeed the owner of the Magic Shop.

Jimin and Jungkook’s happiness could be seen starting from the opening introductions. With Jungkook saying he was the Prince of Busan and Jimin responding that he was the Prince of Busan’s older hyung. From there, Jikook sparkled as they sang Home and no concert is ever complete without one slapping the butt of the other. Sometimes it feels like they can’t help but touch each other. Either it be a hand to the waist of reassurance or a teasing poke.

As BTS sit down for their Teatime Talk, it’s hard to not notice Jikook’s body language. Jungkook sits down first and seems to encourage Jimin to sit down on his lap, when Jimin doesn’t Jungkook slaps his butt in response. Jimin eventually sits down and the two sit close enough to overlap each other. There is a lot of consistency within Jikook and how they behave and this is the same with their body language.

One moment that sparked a lot of confusion involved Jungkook wearing Jimin’s ring. Jungkook starts talking about “a ring on my hand” and Tae points out that he doesn’t have one. Jimin offers his and Jungkook puts it on his pinky finger, asking if we know what the function of the ring is. He does so whilst talking informally. Jungkook also states no-one can touch the ring without permission because it’s so special and he would explain more later. I remember not really understanding the significance of this at the time, until K-Army explained why they were so excited. Apparently if your ring fits on their pinky finger, you are each other's destiny. There were also debates as to which ring Jimin gave Jungkook.

Jikook has intense chemistry on stage. This is especially evident during their part in Best of Me shows their strengths of dancing together in sync, creating a powerful performance that matches how they are together with anything. They did make a mistake on the second day. Something which is rare, but they finished their part off perfectly.

Jungkook seemed extra endeared by Jimin’s new haircut at Busan, calling it cute and asking Jimin to make a cute pose. We know from the DVD behinds and from his vlive that Jimin felt unsure about his new hair, so I find it really sweet that Jungkook was praising and encouraging him. They couldn’t seem to get enough of each other during BWL either with the way they smiled and played with each other.

On the 22nd June, BTS continued their 5th Muster in Seoul. With Jikook being just as sweet as they were before. Whilst getting up to talk during Tea Time, Jungkook noticed that Jimin’s chair was unbalanced on stage. He quickly moved the chair in-time for Jimin to sit back down.

The day after during Tea Time, Jimin gets Jungkook’s attention as he and Taehyung dance to Euphoria. We know how much they visit each other's rehearsals, so this was extra sweet and Jungkook loved watching it.

For the first day in Seoul, it was like they were competing for the most amount of light pinches or punches.2b With Jimin starting it and Jungkook retaliating in fun. Then on the second day there were constant pokes or rubs, letting the other know that they were there and having fun.

They could not keep their hands off each other and continued their flirtiness, when Jungkook asks Jimin about a miraculous thing that happened his life.

Jimin and Jungkook tend to share TMI’s about each other without being asked and the same happens at Seoul. Jimin describes how Jungkook gets tempted by food. He also acts out how Jungkook plays games next to him, revealing that Jungkook talks to himself whilst complaining about the game not going well. They like sharing information or habits about each other with us and it’s sweet that they are super aware of each other's habits.

Jungkook again emphasised how cute Jimin was again in Seoul and continued giving him encouragement whilst performing or teasing him, With a thumbs up from day two.

Whenever Jimin is embarrassed he tends to look or go toward Jungkook, so i think he was extra aware to respond to this. In return, they often seek out each other if they are feeling low or need an extra boost.

During BWL on the second day this was also evident when Jimin got confused about his position and ended up running back, with Jungkook laughing widely at what happened.

In retaliation Jimin lightly punched him in the arm and Jungkook returned them shortly afterwards. They always have fun mid-performance.

During Magic Shop Jimin cutely stands behind Jungkook. They notice each other and Jungkook head tilts as Jimin walks away. They really do end up next to each other a lot and enjoy themselves together on stage.

Towards the end of the second night, we witnessed some extra soft Jikook. Jungkook is known for watching Jimin whilst he is talking during his endingment, either by moving his position or watching during the main screen. You can see this clearly from the second day Vlive broadcast, with Jungkook watching his every word and smiling.

 Whilst bowing for their endingments on the first day, Jimin turned to Jungkook. Jungkook, noticing this, turned back towards him and touched his chin. This is another consistent habit that Jikook has for one another and you can see how much they adore each other from their eyes.

Once they finish their goodbyes, Jungkook walks away and Jimin follows. Jimin backhugs Jungkook as they walk away and they waddle together in sync.

On day two we had another sweet and unexpected moment as they finished talking. Jimin said “cheers to happier days in the future” before they bowed which made him laugh due to his own randomness. When they bowed a second time, Jungkook yelled the same, making Jimin fall to the floor in laughter. In a sweet gesture, army replied back. This is more evidence of how much they make each other laugh with happiness. As Jimin tries to get back using Jungkook’s arm for weight, they get very close together. Both with matching smil’es.

Do you think BigHit pays attention to how much things to show to be able to "please" each ship, esp the maknae ships? For example, If a run ep/any content showed a little bit more of vmin, it will somehow highlight jikook or taekook next. For sure, the boys are not faking their interactions, but do u think BigHit consciously monitor these interactions and edit it in a way that can avoid violent reactions from diff ship groups? Sorry I cannot word this ask well. 😕 I'd love to hear ur thoughts.

I think the first major thing we need to remember is that BH is a company, and a company’s main purpose, above all else, is to generate revenue. Which isn’t a bad thing in this case seeing as, depending on how much BH makes, so do the members since their contracts, compared to others in the same industry, have some great percentages in their favor.

With that in mind, the answer to your question is a very simple and straight forward yes. BH monitors and plans things accordingly to please (paying) costumers, in the context of this answer, shippers. Fan service and showing certain interactions in certain ways are a great marketing tool that every idol agency uses for decades now, it isn’t anything new or revolutionary in any shape or form, though it’s clear that the type of fan service the BTS members do nowadays has changed in comparison to earlier years, like Jimin being required to perform shirtless at an award show.

In the context of this answer when using “ship”, I simply mean two members interacting with each other and are liked together by a certain community of people, and not actual pairs that have (in my opinion) chances or signs of being real (in a romantic sense) at all, except for vmin and namjin, since those are the only two we see as fulfilling that criteria of romantic potential and are the only two we focus on on this account. But that at large is a post/discussion for another time.

When it comes to showing different interactions between ships, or even really any kind of duo or trio in the group, editing and what does and doesn’t get shown certainly plays a role and follows some kind of idea as well. A good example of that would be how following the release of Dynamite there was a bigger “focus” on J*k*ok, seeing as they had their own moment together in the choreography and we were shown more of their interactions/”moments” in content around that time. But, while that satisfied one major ship and its devotees, it didn’t satisfy another, so it needed to be balanced out. Which is exactly what BH did.

More below the cut since this got a little long:

If you look at the Break the Silence: Persona movie commentary done by the members, the maknaes sit together in the middle of the sofa (and the screen) with JK between vmin, meaning that both major ships could pay attention to their two members and be “pleased” at the same time by any and all interactions or “moments”. A counter argument to moments involving all three of them working in a positive manner would be the Dynamite performance at Jimmy Fallon (x) that ended with the members skating around on roller-skates where at one point the maknaes were together, JK holding Tae’s wrist while Jimin had his hands on Tae’s hips (?). It was a cute and funny moment of them just helping Tae since he can’t skate, but it caused a plethora of negative/awful reactions among those who ship one and the other “main” maknae ship with, in both cases, either Jimin or Tae being on the receiving end of awful accusations, insults, and alike. Then again, to balance out J*k*ok Dynamite content, we can look at the BE-hind Story video where JK and Tae sat together and were seen interacting more, while Jimin interacted more with Yoongi, where Yo*nm*n is also a rather popular ship.

Perhaps it sounds mean or calculated or like I’m badmouthing other ships as just “tools”, but the thing we have to keep in mind is that every piece of content is planned in a certain manner (BTS are seven people after all so you can’t just tell them to do something and hope it’ll just magically work out somehow), is filmed by a giant crew of staff from stylists to PDs and lighting crews, and while there are certainly also genuine interactions between the members, simply because they enjoy spending together and interacting, being close and have no issue touching each other etc, many of these things are not really anything that would really count as “intimate” moments due to the nature of the content itself. But shippers oftentimes ignore that in favor of enjoying whatever content of their ship they are given, which makes sense, as vminnies and namjinists we do too, but we also know that BH certainly has a hand in what is and isn’t shown, and the way in which it is shown.

Look at the trailer for Memories of 2019 and the famous J*k*ok moment that was front and center. From a marketing standpoint it was a genius move since it made sure that shippers would go and buy the DVD regardless of its price. Look at what we’ve gotten for Winter Package 2021 so far, J*k*ok being playful in the trailer, T*ek*ok squished together in the picture on IG, and J*k*ok next to each other, along with Seokjin, in the preview pictures on Weverse. Of course, there was also a picture of Yoongi and Hoseok together (a popular ship) as well as Namjoon with Yoongi and Namjoon with Tae (far less popular), but those three aren’t really selling arguments the way the major maknae ships are. Even vmin isn’t, seeing as the vmin community is much, much smaller than the other two maknae ships, and also vmin moments are often times written off as ‘friends’ interacting anyway and thus not taken seriously (or being paid attention to), if you know what I mean.

(Admin 1: I, for one, would really love to own the 5th Muster DVD because I love the concert itself but also because the famous vmin dancing together to Spring Day sequence is immortalized in picture form in the photobook, so I’m not innocent or “different” in any way since I fall for this marketing stuff just as much as everyone else.)

But on the other hand, there’s also content that isn’t as controlled by BH as pre-recorded and edited videos or DVD’s, as in their vlives or live content, like the BE/LGO release day vlive in pajamas where, sure, the members were given a general plan of what they’ll be doing and a timeframe for it, but certain things seemed more spur-of-the-moment and unplanned, like the vmin lipstick moment (Tae putting on the lipstick was planned, but the final executions likely wasn’t) and the way the other members reacted to it. Or things they do at concerts, which some of it is surely also rehearsed and planned, we saw Hoseok ask JK if he’d do a heart with him at some point during one of the concerts, as example, or Tae and Seokjin planning their typical moment that happened at every concert, but other ones are more in the moment and not controlled.

When it comes to concert DVDs, that is again a different story seeing as a camera can only show as much at a time, so the editors are presented all the footage from the concert and then decide which to show and which not. So, if we see an interaction between JK and Hoseok, for example, at the same time somewhere else Namjoon might be dancing with Seokjin or vmin could be doing something, but we’d simply never know since they can’t show us everything.

That, in a way, is also the case with actual concerts where there’s a difference, somewhat, between concerts that get filmed for DVDs or streamed online, and those that are not. Something that comes to mind would be a vmin moment during Best of Me in Busan on the day that didn’t get filmed where they skipped the first half of the choreography and vmin stood together, half of that sequence being just visible in the background while JK is the primary focus of the cameras that are shown on the side screens, and this whole thing only happened this one time and never again. (x) That’s a moment that, in my opinion, isn’t planned, or other similar moments where vmin change the choreographies (even if just a little) to do something together, like during Spring Day during WINGS Tour Final where Jimin adjusted his solo moment so that he ended up in front of Tae. (x)

There’s also this whole mythos I’ve heard/read about a lot about how supposedly at some of the not filmed Japanese concerts (where I’m not sure if people mean LY:SY or just LY) had some crazy moments between the members (in the sense of “ship” moments and alike) BUT I couldn’t find any proof of that, so if someone perhaps knows anything about this, let me know.

Finally, there’s also things like Bon Voyage and In the SOOP which, you’d expect that they would be less edited and less controlled, but even here a selection takes place of which scenes are shown and which are not. Something I find interesting is how the first half of In the SOOP feels very different to how the second half does when they return to the house after being gone for a few days. In the first half vmin (as well as namjin) seemed to “satellite” around each other and interact much more, playing ping pong or doing things together in some shape or form, but in the second half that was (nearly) completely gone and neither interacted much with each other, if at all. We even had Jimin who outright refused to join Tae and Hoseok on their car adventure, or we saw Seokjin wake up Namjoon to go jogging yet never got to see said jogging happening (if it did happen, that is).

So, to sum all of this up: Yes, BH definitely monitors and guides the way certain things are and aren’t shown in order to achieve certain things or avoid certain reactions, though it’s a complex balancing act and doesn’t always work out. There are things that are unplanned and not controlled, of course, but there’s also a fair amount of marketing play involved. 

After all BTS aren’t rookies anymore, instead they are giant household names and their actions and words move people, move money, and on top of that they are still idols, and part of what it means to be an idol is differentiating between your idol appearance/persona (so what we see in screen) and your personal private life, which is usually kept as secret as only possible. How much they themselves choose to share of their real selves and real feelings toward each other is up to them (as well as up to BH and how much they “allow” them to/don’t edit out). But that, too, is a whole other discussion for another time.

WHEN JIKOOK ARE SHADING EACHOTHER:2020 Japan Comback Interview Analysis

WARNING: Full on angst ahead.

If you believe Jikook are holding hands chanting Kumbaya all the time while they walk into a purple sunset this is not for you. Jikook is real. At least to me and as a real relationship they have their fair share of ups and downs.

DISCLAIMER: Everything expressed in here is my thoughts, observations and opinion. It is not meant to offend any of the members involved or anyone else.

A Little Background:

Its my and a few other Jikookers observation that Jikook fight. A lot. They separate or breakup from time to time too. You may or may not have caught these moments as they happen but doesn't mean they don't happen all.

For me, 2018 and 2020 have been the pinnacle of such moments. Jikook are having issues- have been having issues. They are still going through a rough patch unfortunately. But not to be alarmed, they are working through it.

Now I can't say with certainty when such said issues began. I can only speculate. I started noticing some sort of tension between them right before their vacation somewhere between March/August 2019 to date.

I'm talking about their Bon Voyage 4 moments, the tattoo girl scandal, Jimins Paris scandal, Jingle, MMA, Jin's Birthday Vlive moments and all those moments that had us raising our brows.

And when I say started noticing I mean from across the various means they've been communicating with us- across their Weverse posts, Twitter, Vlives, interviews etc

I like to look at all these moments combined to see the bigger picture and not just dwell on individual moments as and when they are presented to us because BigHit do not feed us their moments in real time.

I know what you're thinking and no, Jimin flying all over to South Korea to celebrate Jks birthday wasn't him making a grand gesture for the sake of it. It is my opinion that that was just him extending an olive branch to fix things between them because... More on that later.

To understand the shade I'm referring to you'd have to understand why they are shading eachother to begin with:

Jeon Jungkook. To put it simply, Jeon Jungkook hates not being with Jimin 24/7. HE HATES IT. He hates when Jimin is not with him. When Jimin is not around him. When Jimin is with anybody that is not him. Bless him. He has proven this time and time again with all the times he's cheated to be in the same group as Jimin during Runs. His 'Jimin hyung and I will sleep here' his 'thats the friendship' statements he throws at people when Jimin has a moment with any of the members that remotely resembles anything other than friendship, SateliteJeon, and my personal favorite TeleporterJeon etc

Now I suspect this is just due to his personality as an INTP. He has the tendency to latch on to things that feels falimiliar to him and would fall back to it so he feels safe and anchored. He has latched on to Jimin and uses him as his emotional anchor and safe zone and we thank him for that. Thanks to him we've had all those amazing moments as well as the Jeonlous and now TeleporterJeon moments that only proves to us crazy Jikookers that we aren't that crazy and that Jikook is real. Bless him.

Now Jimin is like that too, don't get it twisted. This man is so deep into Jk he won't even hear anything we say. Call him by his JK. Bless him. Jimin is also very possessive of JK if not more possessive. Its just his slytherin ass does a better Job at hiding it.

The problem is, this differences in their personalities may have likely created a lot of tension and problems in their relationship with each other as well as in the relationship they have with their friends and bandmates.

The difference here being while JK latches onto Jimin because he is an introvert and have anxiety issues and isn't exactly the social type; JM is the very opposite of that.

Jimin is a highly extroverted person and loves to maintain other relationships besides his romantic one and there is nothing wrong with that.

See that face on Tae here? Now that's the face of an angry man right there. Tae literally held his breath when JK came to stand next to him because he was afraid JK was gonna ask him to move so he could stand with Jimin instead like he does with the other members like Hobi and Suga most times. To me, this was him feeling like his little bromance moment with his soulmate was being threatened and intruded on.

EXHIBIT A:

Jimin of course noticed what JK was up to. JK was being territorial. Jimin glanced at Tae through the corner of his eyes and moved to stand behind Tae. Later he tried to cheer Tae up by dancing with him.

We've seen moments time and again where JK has moved to physically block Tae from interacting with Jimin on stage and during fansigning events etc and mind you Tae is Jimin's best friend and soulmate.

Tae said it not me. It seems JK has the tendency to isolate JM and keep Jimin from his friends most times both on and off camera.

In this video, Tae's expression after he said JK was keeping JM from coming to do the live with him said it all.

Why would Jimin do that? Because I believe Tae had complained to him several times how he feels about JK keeping him all to himself and interfering with their moments most times. Frankly, I'd do same if my friends' partners kept interfering with our girls night.

And also because Jimin likes to reassure people of his love and loyalty when they feel their bond with him is being threatened by someone else. We've seen him do this with JK too a couple of times like when JK saw RM wrap his hand around Jimin during that live and he ducked and later did a heart for him. You know which VLive I'm talking about. Moving on.

Do I need to say anything here? Hobi is JMs roommate and even he complained in this VLive how he was missing JM. So the question is, where the bloody hell had JM been?! Why is everyone he is supposed to be close to missing him? His Bestfriend/soulmate and now his roommate? Fo you see the pattern?

This is not much of a stretch if you think about it because Tae has literally said this to Jimin before when he told him on the live he was missing him and JM had to apologize for that.

Truth is, Jeon Jungkook can be a bit of a bully sometimes when it comes to his position next to Jimin. That's his spot and he won't hesitate to claim it no matter who is in the way.

And for JK, we all know he doesn't interact much with the members off camera. Tae has said once that JK ignores him when they aren't filming which is why when JK was given a secret mission to Ignore Tae, Tae didn't even notice.

Now we all know KBS Gayo is Vmin land and so having JK try to stamp his Jikook stamp on it must have been tough for Tae.

RM has also said how JK doesn't even call him and Jin has said JK barely answers his calls and texts. This is not to say JK is a bad person or hates his other bandmates. He loves them all. He is just an introvert.

Now this is getting longer than intended so I'm going to break this post into two parts.

EXHIBIT B:

But to sum up everything I have been saying and to get to the point of this post, JKs possessiveness over JM for sometime has been taking a toll on JM and the group in general as it has been putting a lot of stress on JMs relationship with others.

To the point, some of the members have even been seen to side eye JK sometimes when he comes around JM and some do try to separate them or put JK in his place, acting like they don't approve of their relationship etc.

Now, I won't name names or point out such moments because it can be a bit controversial and I don't want anyone twisting my words around and calling me names. That would hurt my feelings because I love them all and my intentions are not to be malicious in any way. I'm just pointing out an observation and of course I could be wrong about everything.

I don't know for sure, but it's my belief that Jikook have been advised to spend sometime apart because perhaps people had noticed their codependent tendencies have been reaching exponential heights. It could have been their therapist or their friends or loved ones but since March/August 2019 through late 2019 to date is when I noticed they have been trying to spend time apart.

By this I mean, their vacation apart last year, JM staying with Tae for sometime this year, JM visiting his family in Busan this year, spending time with his friends and JK on the other hand taking much time to himself, picking up new hobbies such as reading, posting on Weverse about how he misses JM which I analyzed in my previous post, JM responding with how he was drinking alone watching the rain;

JK not knowing JM had taken up pop dancing, not knowing JM had taken up boxing- PS: Jikook live together, ride together, do everything together, JM calls Jks Mum Mum etc. They are super close and have proven they know every intimate detail about each other like the food they like, the briefs they wear, how long they shower, when they go to bed, what time they wake up, what song they have on their alarm etc. So when suddenly they don't know certain less intimate detail about eachother it is usually a sign that that information/detail came to exist at a time they were separated and weren't filling eachother in on what they've been up to when they are temporarily apart. Like during the recent Jikook Vlive when Jimin was surprised JK had eaten Gimbap. He seemed really shocked by that information and I wonder why. *smirk

In 2019 jimin did a vlive in busan and many were claiming someone was with him.

We can hear a knob or something like chair noises and jm looking that direction asking a suddenly what or why to that person.

I don't agree with this whole analysis. Also i don't think these are same room. I think jk did his vlive in his own room. But he did said he was with jm before .

But in min 0.23 and 1.00 of this analysis we can hear the noises from same direction and jm looking.

These lives were done day after day.

JM’s on 16 June 2019 at around 2 am, and JK’s on 17 June at around 12:40 am.

Both beds have the one pillow on left side (when we are looking at the bed) and 3 on right side.

Now, we all know that in an interview not so long ago JM divulged that he sleeps with 3 pillows while JK said he needs only 1.

Saying that, and I hate to be the party pooper here, wouldn’t the pillows be fixed that way anyway even if they were sleeping alone? JM taking the extra pillow and JK moving the extra pillow to the side? If you look closely at JK’s live you can see that the single pillow side looks like the only side where someone lay down there.

In JM’s live we can only see one side of the bed and it looks pretty messed up.

Both beds have 2 chargers connected on bed side table.

Rooms seem to be identical, but many hotel rooms are generic, so that doesn’t really mean anything.

Blinds are down in JK’s live, so you can’t see if the view is the same from both rooms, but even if it was similar, also wouldn’t have to mean anything if both rooms were placed side by side.

So, from all of that we can't conclude, not really, that the two were sharing a room.

Now to JM’s live:

It seems like JM is alone in the room at the start of the live, although the door to the bathroom is almost shut and you cannot know if there is someone in there.

JM’s chair is making soooo much noise. It’s hard to determine if the noises heard throughout the live are coming from that or somewhere else. Saying that, at the 6:40 min. mark there seems to be a louder noise, JM moves around more in his chair and looks towards the entrance of the room. The more I listen to it the more it sounds to me like a shutting door, perhaps someone entering the room.

And then JM starts looking sideways once in a while.

Not “I am looking to the side while I’m thinking” kind of look, but more “I am looking at someone and finding him amusing” kind of look. Around the 7 min. mark.

He keeps looking sideways.

And then at 8:55 min., when talking about JK, yet again turns and is looking to his left.

JM turns the camera again to the window, and he seems to be alone in the room, again, bathroom door almost closed.

And once again a story about Jungkookie – 15 min.

Even if JK isn’t physically there, he is constantly on JM’s mind…

There’s pretty much nothing for quite a while and then at around 25:30 min. there is a clear sound coming to JM’s left. Even he looks to his left, but then tries to cover it up by looking up.

What’s funny is that it’s always their reactions that give them away. Yes, the sound was out of place, but if JM wouldn’t have tried to over compensate it could have been written off as something coming from outside the room. The reaction was overkill, and that’s the giveaway.

At the end of the live, around 37.40 min. yet again JM turns to look to his left, after saying he’s going to wash and sleep.

And then yet again, JM trying to cover up for himself, realising he was staring in that direction, so he points there and says that’s where he’s going to have a shower. Lol, JM, really?

So not smooth, lmao.

At the end he turns the camera one last time to see the view, and gets up and blocks the view in the reflection of the bathroom door. Was that the purpose? I don’t know, but it did feel slightly strange.

I don’t think JK was in the room itself. At least not for most of the live.

I think that at some point someone came into the room (the sound at the beginning), supposedly JK. But then, if he didn’t go he was waiting perhaps in the bathroom for the live to end. That’s why JM wasn’t distracted too much during the live, like we’ve seen him tend to be when we think JK is actually in the room with him.

That sound at around 25 min. could have come from the bathroom, and that’s why JM reacted the way he did.

It's possible that JK (I do suppose it is JK) popped his head out once in a while to see what's going on and maybe to nudge JM to end the live (it was after 2 am), and that's when JM turns in that direction (especially funny was at the end staring dreamily in that direction only to laugh that that's where he'll be washing up).

We need to remember this is Busan, SK. Even if they spent the time together, even if BTS had a floor to themselves, I don't think they would take the risk to actually share the hotel room for the night. Appearances have to be kept up.

Could you please summarize the different stages they went through with the time frames including how they felt about each other at the time and what they’d told each other, and what the nature of their relationship was if you don’t mind?? (and also like big steps/milestones in their relationship like confessions, first kiss, first whatever). It just all seems kinda... muddled (which obviously it’s complicated by nature but if you could please help out i’d really appreciate it!! ty💗)

Sara & Kayla give different recaps. Sara will just do a minimal scheme while Kayla includes events. This is quite lengthy. Warning: It’s all opinion!

Sara:

— 2011-2013: Just (best) friends. Slow buildup of crushes.

— 2014: Just Friends. Boundary pushing coming specially from Tae.

— 2015: Still just friends, but they are basically “courting” each other and recognize they have a mutual attraction or - at the very least - curiosity. Possible kiss. There are moments of high tension.

—- 2016: They start an affair around May. Tae “breaks up” with Jk in August due to the unfavorable circumstances (they weren’t actual boyfriends). Jk seems upset but there is no direct confrontation. They are on good terms (meaning they don’t stop being friends). They start to mess around again during BS&T promotions until the end of Nov, which is when they stop again. BH starts cutting them out of content.

—- 2017: Tae regrets it & makes efforts to win Jk back (romantically). They both had started to hang out with friends outside of BTS which caused additional friction. Tae confesses to Jk at the start of March which is probably the first time there was an actual love confession between them. They start a serious relationship.

— 2018: Jk falls into a slump at the very beginning of the year (probs having to do with fame, identity, restrictions, etc) which causes Tae to suffer as well. (The group as a whole was also having a hard time but we are focusing on TK). This can be considered a crisis but they resolved it and came out stronger out of it, both as individuals and as a couple. As a group too !

— 2019: closeting intensifies even more but funnily enough they drop big lgbtq hints. They mature as a couple. By the end of the year(?) they start living in different apartments when they aren’t promoting which causes them to spend less time together.

— 2020: they keep being stable as a couple. Tae goes through some struggles but they are ok. Closeting reaches its peak, their first contract expires & they stage a talk to be able to change the narrative & interact more freely in front of cameras while still being closeted. (Disclaimer: I personally don’t think they have had any type of official engagement, just that they wear couple rings to show commitment like koreans typically do).

Kayla: reminder that this is entirely opinion on the timeline of their relationship. This is a quick summary. The timeline goes into further detail. Again, you’re free to believe as you like.

2011- predebut; friends as evidenced by Tae saying in an interview he noticed Jk first + Jk bought Tae a shirt for him while in America; Jk has also said Tae brought him out of his shell

213- debut; close friends; possible attraction but not recognized yet; this can be deduced based on them singing to one another in Rookie Kings in ep 7, Tae saying “you’re beautiful” to Jk and not the girl in the “Beautiful” MV + when the members go over the VHope kiss in episode 8, Jk seems very uneasy and uncomfortable about it (prior to the kiss talk, Taekook were affectionate, linking hands and hugging, mimicking one another)

2014; close friends who have noticed the attraction each feels and begin pushing boundaries to see how the other will respond; an example would be festa 2014, when Tae says touching thighs is for pervs but then is fine with Jk doing so moments later; Tae is visibly aroused by Jk dancing in two different moments this year (April during “boy in luv” and Sept 16 when he bites his lips and gets heavy lidded); in April when BTS act out a skit of Jk falling in love, TK pretend to lean in for a kiss and neither expresses discomfort. Milestone - realizing the other doesn’t react negatively to flirting / boundary testing

2015: close friends continuing to push boundaries; suspicions by us (theorizing) of a first kiss due to Tae drawing attention to his lips in two selecas in January + Jk recommending a gay song “Memo”, in which he changed the lyrics to say he wants “one more”; 123 theory first comes into play as well as Jk starting to send messages through songs - in May he recommends a song by Eels and highlights “can’t help falling in love” + in the same month Tae and Hobi cover “hug me” and then Jk uploads a song “eat” which has the line about wanting to hug someone. In December he covers “paper hearts” and shortens the lyrics from the original by 3 seconds so “when there’s cameras and I can’t reach you” is at 1:23. He also releases “fools” half an hour before Tae’s birthday. It’s an LGBTQ song. He’s called Tae a fool before in a fan sign. In addition, there is a lot of sexual tension in 2015 - Notably, festa. In June, Tae suggestively plays with a mic and Jk puts a mic in his mouth. When BTS appear on Yaman, TK are the only ones to interlock hands + appear to share looks of complicity when the interviewer asks if the members ever touched each other. During tension escalator, both exhibit a lack of boundaries and show comfort in being in each other’s space in a way the other members don’t feel (see an in-depth analysis of the moment by BL expert Pam here - https://youtu.be/mu8K1KBcn_0). They’re still playful with dubsmash and a secret handshake. They also begin to be more aware of cameras. They’re visibly separated in November during the HHYH concert making and when a camera pans to them in December, Tae stops leaning his head on Jk’s shoulder. Milestone - in our opinion, a possible first kiss happened this year, but they remained close friends testing boundaries

2016- FWB; we believe this is when they began to be intimate, though they didn’t label it. They’re flirty in Jan when they discuss Jk being an adult / turning 20. There are suspicions Jan 26 is an anniversary due to Tae uploading “how am I supposed to live without you” on this day and jk responding the same day with “nothing like us”. They’re generally affectionate in clips, such as summer package in Dubai. Jk is distracted in BV1 til Tae shows up. Jimin claps at a heart with their name in it + TK cuddle one morning without barriers or displays of uncomfortableness. We believe the dynamics changed between BV1 and SMART based on the tension in SMART. Tae is shy and Jk looks like he won at life; both bump arms and share shy and happy glances. Taekook is also coined this year! Due to external stressors, and shakiness/uncertainty in what their relationship really is, in our opinion TK remain close friends but end it come autumn 2016. They may have reunited briefly, based on continuing to display affection and attraction to one another, but proceeded to end things again by the end of the year. Milestone - in our opinion, this is the year they became intimate; FWB/not a serious relationship

2017- they become an official couple this year. In the beginning of the year they display jealousy towards one another, and Tae is very extra in his actions to Jk (ex - GDA awards in Jan). We believe Tae was trying to win Jk back. By March 2017 they appear to reunite and enter a renewed honeymoon period, as can be seen by the private convo vlive in April, ILY signs in Chile, suspicious kissing sounds in Tae’s Brazil vlive and festa footsie + suggestive actions at that event. They are still battling through the rollercoaster of 2016, which is why in BV2 we see them be sweet (“you’re mine” “do you want to live here with me?” To jk singing “nothing like us” in the direction of Tae’s room while seeming to be melancholy). Jk sings “nothing like us” in an interview and Tae gets shy. They display general closeness, like in the Run ep filmed in Nov when Jk eats food that has fallen from Tae’s mouth. They’re overall touchy in American interviews and hold hands after the AMAs when they don’t believe cameras are on them. They also do their handshake on MAMA and don’t have space between them during the show. Milestone - became an official couple  

2018- all appears fine with them as a couple, though both struggle with disbandment talks as individuals and as a group. This year is when we see the cheek kisses and “am I your friend?”, as well as “look at me, just me” from Jk to Tae in a run episode. Namsan private date on 1/26. Tae also tells Jk his eyes are always on him and he loves him during his birthday message to him. “Taekook best unit” is said by Tae at a fan sign, further proof of them supporting their “ship”. They display consideration and support to each other, like in Run ep 52, when Jk offers to trade cards with Tae so Tae doesn’t have to go to the sauna with his skin condition, or when Jk comforts Tae about his mullet at a fan sign. They also flash the ILY sign to each to each other at the BBMAS + BV3 happens when Jk is visibly excited to room with Tae (dropping hints / members congratulate) and is distracted til he shows up. Concert nape kiss. Milestone - solid, secure couple

2019- TK continue to appear close without issues or breaks. They’re flirty and affectionate at fan signs. Jk gestures twice to Tae as his life partner in the Japanese bbq interview, while Tae flicks his chin and they play footsie. They display traditional marriage threads while at a concert in Busan and Tae says Busan has his heart. They give themselves away as roommates in the May vlive with Jin and Jimin. Tae mentions the LGBTQ movie “call me by your name” twice. Jk says “I’m still me” from the LGBTQ movie “Love, Simon” at Festa. Jk awards Tae the “I thought you’d be beyond my imagination” award. They’re flirty in the “Home” performance and affectionate during MAMA. Weverse comment in November has been debunked. Jk doesn’t acknowledge Tae’s birthday online but gives him an airport  nape kiss that day. ILY signs during the NYE vlive. Milestone - to me, it’s possible they talked about the future together since Jk confidently referred to Tae twice as his life partner in the Japanese bbq interview and Tae responded by flicking his chin affectionately when “family” was brought up + marriage threads + matching hanboks

2020: all seems fine, in fact, dynamics may have shifted to truly indicate some sort of promise as TK have gotten bolder - they both wear rings on their left ring finger at the Grammys, along with matching outfits, and Jk breaks the lineup to stand by Tae (again, rumored anniversary as this happened Jan 26); general closeness and affection can be seen in American interviews, dancing together on Fallon and during CNS (with JK flashing the ILY sign); they wear matching outfits during BBC Live; Jk continues to wear Tae’s rings throughout the year. Milestone- i believe they’ve made some sort of deeper promise to each other, hence why Jk wears the rings and their actions are generally loud.

BTS being constantly busy -- touring, promoting and recording means they all spend a lot of their time with one another, but Jimin and Jungkook spend a considerable amount of time with each other outside of band duties. Jimin and Jungkook talk a lot about how they “click”. Even in the early days you could tell they had a lot of fun together when Jungkook let himself relax and Jimin wasn’t pushing too hard. As a result of how well they get along, they spend a lot of time together both in a work environment and outside it. Here are just a few of the Jikook dates/hangs that we know about.

Since both boys are from Busan, they have been making the trip home for the holidays together for years now. Here are just a few of the documented instances of them travelling to Busan or back to Seoul from Busan together.

January 2015 - Busan trip

March 2016 Jimin and Jungkook attended a Big Bang concert with J-Hope. 

October 28 2017 Jungkook and Jimin went on a trip to Japan together during their time off from BTS. According to a fan that spotted them at the airport, Jimin’s dad, Jungkook’s dad, and Jungkook’s brother dropped them off. You can find more details about this trip in the Big Moments section.

February 15 2018 -Jungkook and Jimin went to an escape room with Jimin’s friend Sungwoon.  Jimin and J-Hope had been doing promo in Japan prior to this. Jimin returned to Seoul on 2/13/18 without J-Hope. Jungkook was at Jeju Island with his family until 2/12/18 and returned to Seoul alone. Who knows what they did for Valentine’s Day. I just hope everyone had fun.

July 2018 during filming of S3 Bon Voyage, Jimin and Jungkook used an airport layover to have a breakfast date. Not a super huge STATEMENT but they are cuddly through the entire 11 minute behind the scenes cut and the breakfast itself feels domestic as hell.

October 4, 2018 Jimin posted this to Twitter after Episode 2 of Bon Voyage aired. BTS went on a boat ride together. At the end of the night, Hoseok, Namjoon, Yoongi, and Jin (Taehyung hadn’t arrived yet) got off the boat and Jimin and Jungkook went back out to watch the red moon together. During the episode, the Big Hit editors put [Star, Wind, and Romance Mood] as the caption for this date. (Filming was in summer of 2018)

November 25 2018 BTS returned from their Osaka, Japan concerts to Seoul. Jungkook and Jimin immediately went skating at the famous Lotte World Ice Rink together. The video was filmed by a person who claims to have seen them in casual passing and recorded them, but many people believe they are a sasaeng (stalker fan). We’ve decided to include it here. It’s been spread around so much at this point that it’s easily googleable.

 June 5 2019 Jimin’s friends came to London to watch BTS perform at Wembley Stadium. Jimin and Jungkook went out with them for a day of eating and sightseeing. Especially meaningful when you consider that Jimin has said in the past he doesn’t really like sharing his friends group with anyone.

May 29 2019 went to see Avengers Endgame together. Jungkook loves Iron Man. Jimin said he cried at the end. 

Late August/Early September 2019, Jimin decided to take a spur of the moment trip to Paris with a friend at the end of August. On August 31st at about 9:15 pm Paris time (5:15 am on September 1st in Korea, aka Jungkook’s birthday), Jimin posted a video to Twitter wishing Jungkook a happy birthday.

Meanwhile, actual Jimin was on an 11 hour flight back to Seoul to surprise Jungkook for his birthday. We learn from a vlive Jimin posted on his own birthday in October, that he got in late that evening, went straight to Jungkook, then got up the next day to get on another flight to Hawaii for a pre planned trip with a different friend. The things we do for love.

What happens when one of the biggest musical artists in the world covers a song from one of the other biggest musical artists in the world? We’re about to find out. BTS just released a cover of Harry Styles’ “Falling,” as performed by Jungkook, the group’s main vocalist, and it’s wracked up more than 2.5 million views on YouTube in a few hours. This cover is pretty conclusive evidence that Jungkook at least is a Styles fan, but it’s not the first time we’e seen BTS reference Styles or even One Direction…

Does BTS Like Harry Styles?

Jungkook is known for his excellent covers, and spent a good portion of his recent birthday serenading ARMY with requested covers, BTS deep-cuts, and songs he composed on the spot from chat suggestions. But there’s a difference between jamming on VLive and choosing to release a cover of a song via Bangtan’s official channels.

It’s the first time we’ve seen any of the members cover Harry Styles, and Deezer, a French online music streaming service, has already referenced the fact that BTS’ official “Pocket Songs” playlist includes “Falling.” It’s also the first cover a member of BTS has released since last week’s announcement the group will be changing its U.S. distribution partner from Sony Music’s Columbia Records (where Styles has a recording contract) to Universal Music.

While this is the first time a member of BTS has released a Styles cover (and, honestly, fingers still very much cross for a BTS cover of any One Direction song), the Korean group has mentioned Styles before. Just last year, they chose “Watermelon Sugar” as the last song they had stuck in their heads during an interview with SiriusXM’s Hits 1, with J-Hope and Jimin breaking out into the lyrics. But let it be known that, when asked to sing a One Direction song, it was Jungkook who first (and immediately) broke out into “What Makes Me Beautiful.”

What Does Harry Styles’ “Falling” Mean?

Shortly after Jungkook’s cover dropped, popular BTS fan and translation account @modooborahae, retweeted a 2016 comment from the member about how he approaches covers. In it, he wrote: “When I cover a song, I always check what the lyrics are/mean before I record the song! Please search for the meaning of the lyrics too. And then listen to it again. It will sound different..!”

The cover has prompted many BTS fans who might not be as familiar with Styles’ work to look up the meaning behind the very personal song, which is part of Styles’ “Fine Line” album, released in 2019. Though Styles famously almost never explains the specific inspiration behind his songs (“Watermelon Sugar” recently and gloriously excluded), he has broadly explained that “Fine Line” is about “having sex and feeling sad.” In an Apple Music interview, Styles said that he wrote the song in roughly 20 minutes while reflecting on a time he felt “the lowest I’ve ever felt in my life.” Most assume “Falling” is specifically about Styles’ break-up with former partner Camille Rowe.

The song includes some of Styles’ most intimate and emotional lyrics, starting off with “I’m in my bed and you’re not here… And there’s no one to blame but the drink and my wandering hands” and including thoughts like “What if I’m someone I don’t want around?” The vocals are often just as raw, especially the haunting bridge bellow “I get the feeling that you’ll never need me againnnnn,” which—in both the Styles version and the Jungkook cover—intentionally stays just on the right side of the belting-yelling divide.

Whatever the reasons for Jungkook choosing to cover Styles “Falling” (which is just a great song), it seems he has an interest in Styles’ career and music. Jungkook has yet to release his own solo album (unlike with One Direction and other western groups, there is more room for solo projects built into the K-pop system), and every cover is a glimpse into what that future project, known among fans as JJK1, could look like.

And, you know, BTS did recently collaborate with another mega-popular British musical artist…
