Rancho Obispo

Off The Wall
TW: cussing, slut-shaming, bullying (lowkey deserved though), implications of OCD and death

Michael plopped on Freyja's yellow uniform bed. He'd been in Freyja's shared dorm with Vera, Fran, and Jackie many times, but he seemed to like it more and more every time. However, one part he definitely did not like was Fran. It would be an understatement to say that she was a neat freak. Not only that, but she was nosey. Her sweeping and dusting occurred almost every day, most of the time ending in an argument between her and Freyja due to her invasion of privacy yet again. It became so unbearable Freyja and Vera began to put all private items into their locked trunks at the end of their beds.
One issue Fran had with the three of them was their lack of simplicity. They decorated their respective areas of the room to an unreasonable extent. They all had banners they had made in their first year across the end posts of their beds with their names on them. Scattered around the room, with the exception of Fran's area, were a plethora of plants that were gifted to the girls by Professor Sprout.
Left of Freyja's bed were many shelves she and Vera requested in third year. There were a couple of books here and there, mostly their schoolbooks and the few muggle books they had brought. However, most of the shelf space was taken up by their many academic awards and framed photographs of them and their friends. Some of the polaroid photos were even on a string hung above and below some of the shelves.
In addition to the shelves, the messiness of their decorations, and the excessive plants, Freyja and Jackie had rambunctious animals. That had to be what Fran hated most. She hated the way Freyja's cat, Jimena, would jump up onto surfaces and break things, though they were always Freyja's and Vera's, never hers. She hated the way she could hear Jackie's toad, Luis, croak in his terrarium during the day, even though she cast a silencing charm at night. The only pet that she could put up with was Vera's cat, Rasin, who was extremely lazy, unlike Jimena, who, no matter how hard she would try, could never get Rasin's attention long enough to be able to play.
As Freyja set down her things and grabbed Jimena off of Vera's trophy shelf, Michael asked, "Can we listen to one of your records?"
"Sure, but you have to get the record player out. Wait, let me guess," Freyja said before Michael was able to rummage through her trunk. "I'm going to guess Michael Jackson today."
"Jaja, you always guess Michael Jackson."
"Yes, and I'm always right," she smiled. Yet again, she was right. Ever since Michael had even started listening to music, he always chose to listen to Michael Jackson. He never listened to any music the average wizard would listen to, always this muggle's album Freyja had jokingly picked out for him at a muggle music shop.
Michael carefully removed the two plants, one of which he recognized as a Screechsnap. He was proud of himself for successfully moving it without it squirming or yelping in discomfort. Opening the trunk, he was met with a surprisingly organized space. In it was her record player, a few of their favorite records, almost all of her money, her diary, and a plethora of family pictures, some of which included their mother.
"Why do you even keep the record player in here? S'not like it's all that private."
"I keep it in there because I don't want that daft imbecile we call Fran to fuck it up with her incessant dusting," she replied with a light giggle. She had already opened up Michael's satchel to begin on his essay, much to his dismay. "Hurry up! I don't want to work on this any longer than I have to."
"Bitch," Michael muttered under his breath. Freyja, with her weirdly exceptional hearing, heard him.
"What was that?" Freyja demanded back at him, a slight smirk evident on her face.
"I said," he started, that grin he had when he was about to say something sarcastic smothered on his face. "You. Are. A. Bitch. Seriously, you'd think someone your age would be smart enough to not have to have a fourteen-year-old spell it out for them."
"Oh, you are so dead, you little shit!" she laughed.
↣↢↣↢
"Do you have any idea how loud your music is? I can hear you from the bloody tunnels," Fran yapped at Freyja and Michael, who were dancing to "Rock With You" while Freyja got ready for her "date." She instantly saw the chips and pudding on Freyja's bed, disgusted by their messiness and lack of respect for their space.
"Are you always a stuck-up bitch, or is that just a part-time thing?" Michael asked quite plainly, no hint of a joke behind his tone. Freyja burst out into laughter, tearing up at how hard she was laughing.
"I don't know; are you always a careless prat?" she seethed.
"Actually, yes. I am," Michael chuckled, causing poor Freyja to damn near piss her trousers. Huffing, Fran walked away and sat on her bed. Finally able to control herself, Freyja opened their shared closet where they kept clothes that needed to be hung. Each of them had different colored hangers to indicate which clothes were theirs. Fran's were brown, Freyja's were red, Vera's black, and Jackie's yellow. Pulling the others to the side, Freyja sifted through the red and black ones, looking for a blue dress or skirt.
As she continued to search through the many clothes, Vera and Jackie entered, giggling and smiling about Victor Krum. Michael leaped off of the bed to give Vera a bear hug.
"Vera!" he shouted, excited to see her, the last time being at the first task. She happily embraced him. Ever since she met him, he reminded her of her brother. It was comforting to have someone who resembled him to such an extent; it felt like he wasn't even gone.
Detaching himself from Vera, he turned to wink at Jackie, who rolled her eyes at him. He crushed on her since his second year. It was no surprise; Jackie was beautiful, and even though he didn't really have a crush on her anymore, he still found it fun to act like he did.
"Hi, Jackie," he said flirtatiously, hoping to get some sort of reaction.
"Don't even start, Corner," she chuckled, turning to look at Freyja, who was holding a blue skirt up to her body in front of a mirror.
"You're getting dressed up," Jackie smiled while shamelessly checking her out. She plopped on her bed and turned on her belly to get more comfortable.
"What's the occasion?" Vera chimed in. She jumped onto Jackie's bed to get a good view of Freyja as well. She was soon followed by Michael who laid himself in between the two of them.
"Probably just going out to whore herself around for Cedric. Let's hope this time she doesn't make the front page," Fran uninvitedly joined in on the conversation.
"This bitch," Michael thought as he rolled his eyes and scoffed. Having had enough of her bullshit for one night, he sat up to look at her.
"Aren't you whoring yourself around for Freyja's ex? What was his name again? I mean honestly, you act like you could make the front page even if you tried."
Jackie instantly gasped, and so did Freyja, each of their gasps being followed up by uncontrollable laughter. Vera, however, played along with Michael's teasing.
"I do believe his name is Kenneth, Kenneth Towler. He's dull, boring. Perfect match for you, Fran," Vera smiled passive-aggressively at her.
Fran, embarrassed and now a little hurt gathered her things and stomped out of the dorm, probably off to see Kenneth and complain.
"Finally," Michael huffed, "some bloody peace."
"Holy shit, that was the best moment of my life," Freyja laughed, being joined in by the rest of the group.
"You never answered my question," Vera said, still curious about what it was Freyja decided to dress up for.
"Just a date," she replied, hoping they wouldn't ask any further questions.
"A date with Cedric," Michael continued her sentence, purposely embarrassing and teasing his sister. Cheers and gasps from Jackie and Vera filled the room.
"I fucking knew it!" Jackie shouted. "Vera, you owe me seven galleons!"
"You two placed a bet on whether Cedric and I would go out?" Freyja responded, clearly amused by their investment in her love life.
"Yes, in fact, we did. I was certain you wouldn't actually do anything about it. Clearly, I was wrong," Vera giggled as she begrudgingly handed the coins to Jackie.
"I'll have you know that Cedric and I are not and will not be a 'thing.' We're just friends," Freyja reassured herself. She was scared to admit her feelings for him; it was becoming painfully evident.
"Oh, you've got to be shitting me," Vera scoffed.
"Freyja, love, friends don't go on dates," Jackie jeered. Freyja playfully rolled her eyes at them; she knew they were right.

2. Meaning of name "Liam" and "Emma"
Liam:
Liam's name is the name of a boy of Irish origin meaning "resolute protection".
Liam originated as the nickname of Uilliam, the Irish variant of William. William is an English name from German origin brought to Ireland when the British fled England after the conquest of Norman.
The Irish began to use English names, including William, which led to the development of Uilliam and its short form, Liam.
Liam is the top US boy's name for 2018, joining the elite group of names to top the list. Liam started out as a short form of William but has long stood on his own and for several years has become one of the most popular baby names for boys.
Now it is the fastest-growing Irish name in the United States, first entering the Top 10 in 2012 and before climbing to No. 1, holding No. 2 for four consecutive years.
Emma:
Initially, a short form of the German name beginning with the ermen element meaning "whole" or "universal". It was introduced to England by Emma of Normandy, who was the wife of King Ethelred II (and by him the mother of Edward the Confession) and later King Canute.
After the Norman conquest, this name became popular in England. It was revived in the 18th century, perhaps in part because of a poem by Henry Prior Henry and Emma (1709). In the United States, it ranked third in 1880 (after Mary and Anna were omnipresent).
It declined steadily over the next century, beginning another rise in the 1980s and eventually becoming the most popular name for girls in 2008.
At this time it also experienced similar levels of popularity elsewhere, including the United Kingdom (where it began rising a decade earlier), Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, and the Netherlands.

Queremos verles, escucharles, conocerles, exponerles. [TASK 107: URUGUAY]
In celebration of Uruguayan Independence Day on August 25th, here’s a masterlist below compiled of over 280+ Uruguayan faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever faceclaim or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!
STEP 2: Pick what you want to create! You can obviously do more than one thing, but what do you want to start off with? Screencaps, RP icons, GIF packs, masterlists, PNG’s, fancasts, alternative FC’s - LITERALLY anything you desire!
STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK - examples are linked!
Stumped for ideas? Maybe make a masterlist or graphic of your favourite faceclaims. A masterlist of names. Plot ideas or screencaps from a music video preformed by an artist. Masterlist of quotes and lyrics that can be used for starters, thread titles or tags. Guides on culture and customs.
