🥿 Dragon Slippers by Jessica Day George
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
After being orphaned, Creel is given to a dragon, but soon strikes a deal to win her freedom and a pair of blue slippers. On her journey to the King’s Seat, where she hopes to open up a dress shop, she starts to realize that the shoes are more than they seem.
This book was adventurous, it was entertaining, it had a great cast of characters (plus dragons)! Creel is up there with Cimorene (from Dealing with Dragons) in my “Dragon Book Heroine Wall of Fame”. She’s very resourceful, courageous, and relatable as she really just wants to sew and embroider but gets tangled up in something way over her head. I also really adored her friendship with Prince Luka.
The ending was climatic and lead into the possibility of a second book (which there is) and I’m overjoyed.

Hey! If you had to pick one book character (and only one) to marry for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?
Galen Werner from the Princess of the Midnight Ball trilogy by Jessica Day George. I had good taste when I was 10 and I still have good taste now 💕

Tuesdays at the Castle
By Jessica Day George
🏰
I had to remake the case twice before I finally got the measurements right. But I’m glad I finished it in time for the holidays. That was a close one for sure 😮‍.
It’s your standard square backed bradel bind. The entire case was foiled by hand using a foil quill.

has anyone read the Dragon Slippers trilogy by Jessica Day George because I fucking love it
Unnecessarily specific sewing that is plot relevant to the extent it feels like a fanfic au where the author handmakes fancy clothes for a living
beautiful character relationships and a protagonist you can root for
fun ways to think about dragons and every one is unique and distinct
romance, action, sewing, intrigue and mystery and a showstopping end to every book and it has DRAGONS im sorry what else did you want
