What if I said that the one who makes the difference in Jeremy's situation is Jean?

Jeremy is in a real bind about leaving home because he'll do it with literally nothing: no money, no ID, they'll probably take his car away, even no clothes, with the Wilshires on his heels to keep him from saying anything that could hurt them… There will be rumors if he leaves about why he left (I think they'll disinherit him when Jeremy refuses to come back and decides it's over), and the Wilshires could use their influence to force him to come back by pressuring USC or Jeremy's friends.

Who does this messed-up situation sound like to you? Yes…

But Jeremy has his team, Laila and Cat, the Flozzies, a future at the Exy, lots of friends… And he's still in that house even though it's been four years. He hasn't worked up the courage to leave, and he doesn't think he has a problem serious enough to do so (ahem, ahem).

Why?

Because the one who makes the difference hasn't arrived yet, and that can only be Jean.

I'm not talking about love (although that's true too). I'm talking about admiration. I'm talking about Jeremy watching Jean and his evolution, about Jean talking to Jeremy about what happened at The Nest (I think this conversation will happen when Jeremy leaves home and Jean tells him about what he went through to give him courage).

I'm talking about Jeremy feeling so much admiration that he decides not to return home. It's over.
