there's so many things in tsc that just come at you all at once, so it's hard to focus on just one thing to break down, but the most glaring thing that stood out to me is how hard it is to really put someone back together. especially someone so shattered that it's nigh impossible to glue them back and pray they don't crumble under your ministrations.

if jean is neil's foil, then jeremy is andrew's direct antithesis. whereas andrew is a steady bedrock because he's been broken too many times to know how to weather the storm, jeremy is too soft hands and an even softer soul. he cares and cares and cares. so empathetic and so gentle it almost breaks your heart. you pray for the impossibility that jeremy can survive knowing the truth because if he doesn't, then what hope does jean have? so you pray he can be steady too. that he can weather the storm as well. that he will not break when knowing that just under the surface lies shark-infested waters.

but then you remember the beginning. "even knowing everything could go completely sideways, you'd make that choice every time"

in every other universe, jean has not survived. but in every other universe, he did not have the trojans.

It's official. I have finished The Sunshine Court. I have so many things to say and yet have no idea what to possibly say. It was perfect. It was absolutely perfect and heartbreaking and gut wrenching and an insane emotional roller coaster and everything i could possibly have asked for from Nora. Like she really truly delivered and i'm so fucking INSANELY grateful she has shared this story with us after all these years. We do not deserve her.

shotgunning but it's kevjean except Jean smokes very cheap cigarettes because he has to sneak them from riko in the Nest and only uses it when riko has to go out of the Nest, or meets up with tetsuji for punishments.

So after Kevin leaves Nest - on a particular night when he's drunk - he asks Andrew for a cigarette but doesn't enjoy it because it tastes/smells different from Jean's. So then he keeps buying different brands of cigarettes attempting to recreate that burning taste blown into his mouth by Jean and can't.

he steals Jean's cigarette box after he's rescued from the Nest and smokes the rest of the pack. Then they finally kiss with smoke and nicotine in the air.

I’m a Kevjean enjoyer but I have yet to cross the threshold into making my own content! I feel like I don’t have Enough of Jean yet so I leave him to the professionals

That being said Jean feels like one of those “oh no it’s fine! It’s fine. There’s no problem it’s fine” kind of guys when it comes to Kevin. If he feels like Kevin is uncomfortable then he’ll politely interject, but if it’s mutual flirting? Guy who is jealous and bitter but Knows that’s His Problem and is trying to handle it. Jean will sit there and be nasty fit the rest of the night. He can’t help it. It’s not his fault and we’re shouldn’t blame him.
