So I have a fun idea! Nacho stops by Aurelia's place and finds her cooking a delicious-smelling mole sauce, and when he asks who it's for, as it's way more than she could eat alone, she flippantly tells him, "Oh, it's for Javi." Nacho has never heard of this guy, and to his surprise, he's actually jealous! 🥺😂💖
LMAOO AWW oh absolutely are you kidding? Javier's a looker just like Nacho, he's also naturally flirtatious, AND he and Aurelia are a lot more aligned in energy, so I bet Nacho'd feel pretty threatened. Do you think he's easy to assuage in this situation or does that jealousy/possessiveness stick with him for a bit? How does he act around Javi the first time they meet given this? Does Aurelia like him a little jealous 😏 (Also in my mind I'm imagining Javi's at home making the same thing and they're swapping recipes to see whose is better, bc ofc they have to turn everything into a competition 😂)
Laughing to myself bc if Ximena did the same w Nacho, Javi would be so annoying abt it lol but in his Javi way. He'd feel actual jealousy at first, but once actually meeting and getting to know Nacho (and acknowledging the fact that Ximena's not that kind of girl), he doesn't feel threatened. He does, however, continue to act overly jealous for the bit. Sometimes it's funny, other times Ximena's ready to rip his head off. "Javi have you seen my phone" "Why do you need a phone, hm. So you can call your man on the side 🤨" "I'm going to beat you with a large stick."
Bonus bc it made me chuckle

via https://www.liberoquotidiano.it/news/esteri/39228038/pedro-sanchez-javier-milei-drogato-corrotto.html
Gioco, set, partita.

Why do you not like the new Dune movies?
Tumblr media
Like if you want the short answer ultimately Denis Villeneuve is interested in much different things than I am when it comes to Dune. And that's fine, a lot of people are getting a lot of joy from his take but it's not my music so I'm not gonna dance.
Dune means multiple things for different people. And for me I enjoy most of what was cut/was changed. I like that House Atriedes is ultimately as amoral and ambitious as House Harkonnen. I like that Paul is in big ways a villain protagonist. Paul likes to paint himself as the victim of fate/destiny but I don't see him as one.
I love the tragedy of Stilgar being a noble and respected leader who lets himself lose some of his own humanity because he comes to believe in Paul as a messiah. I like that Jessica realizes far too late she's fucked up raising Paul and Alia and now they are what she's raised them to be- ambitious, violent and alienated from others around them.
I like that Feyd Rautha possesses flashes of true nobilty and intelligence but is ultimately dashed against the rocks of Paul's ascension.
The operatic quality isn't in the scale of the sets or crowds but in the humanity of the characters and their flaws.
Couple that with the fact Denis Villeneuve belongs to a school of film-making (ie how he paces, edits, scores his movies) that I just don't subscribe too. And they're just not movies I was ever going to like. (I am a film graduate who has made short films of my own so this is no small thing with me.) This qoute for example jus boggles my mind:
Tumblr media
I'm also bummed to britches that he repeats a lot of things I didn't like in 84 film or the miniseries-like cutting Feyd's positive aspects, erasing how difficult Duke Leto can be. Seeing the Baron naked, him and Feyd kissing, etc.
I also feel really uncomfortable with the casting. Frank for all his flaws took as much care as he could making the Fremen not only true to the MENA cultures he pulled from but also the struggles of many First Nations peoples. His best friend was Quileute author, Howie Hansen and he had a lot of influence on Frank's writing both of Dune and other novels as well.
Javier Bardem is a white Spaniard and I don't feel comfortable with him being made a buffoon with this really broad Arabic accent.
There's also a dozen other nitpicky things I could bring up but would be unfair too.

my mother is mauritian, so while i'm not mena, i am an african arab + indian from her side and this pisses me off so badly. it's a worse version of when shows try and cast half white actors as fully black characters and ignore that they were supposed to be dark-skinned originally. like why did got have a british-sudanese man and a chilean man playing brothers??? omg people of colour are not interchangeable. i'd almost be able to excuse it if they looked absolutely identical and it was a case of once in a lifetime casting but they barely even looked related 💀💀💀 the actors both did great jobs but it is TIRING. we will never be free
It's no insidious how they just get away with this racism. They'll use our cultures and history and cuisine and clothing and architecture our aesthetics overall to lay the foundation of these fictional set pieces, then the fandom will use racialized language when it comes to these characters because the writer himself makes use of racist tropes, and then HBO won't even cast the brown actors for the brown characters they're adapting! And they keep getting away with it! Don't even get me fucking started on the random assortments of different ethnicities who get to play the Dornish. Latino to Indian to Arab to biracial to fucking Kiwi ???? (What the fuck even were the Sandsnakes castings) just because these people all look "racially ambiguous" enough to be classified as "brown" which is not only a deeply racist stereotype to begin with in the first place, it's also just racist as shit because the characters are MENA. The setting is based on the MENA. There is not a single chance in hell a country like the UK is lacking in MENA actors. For fuck's sake, cast Middle Easterners for your fucking fantasy Middle Eastern characters @ HBO you bunch of racists. The way they keep on getting away with this crap too is just so evil because even Dune gets away with it. Why the fuck are half-white half-black Zendaya and full white Spaniard Javier Bardem playing Fremen, a peoples straight up based on North African nomads ??!

Disney's upcoming movie releases
Disney is releasing many movies in cinemas and on the Disney+ streaming service. Family-friendly prequels and live-action remakes of cherished cartoon masterpieces are also included. The business adjusted its release calendar for future movies from its different studios this week. To view every title coming out in 2019, scroll down!
The Little Mermaid will be remade in live-action by Disney and released in theaters the following year. The movie, which stars Halle Bailey (The Color Purple, Grown-ish), tells the tale of Ariel, a mermaid princess who strikes a bargain with a sea witch to transform into a human so she may experience life on land and fall in love.
Jonah Hauer-King plays Prince Eric in the movie, while Melissa McCarthy, who starred in Bridesmaids, plays Ursula. Oscar winner Javier Bardem plays King Triton, Daveed Diggs plays Sebastian in Hamilton, Jacob Tremblay plays Flounder in Room, and Awkwafina, the breakthrough star of Crazy Rich Asians, plays Scuttle.
Based on the adored animation classic, Aladdin will soon be a live-action film. Guy Ritchie is the director, Mena Massoud plays Aladdin, and Naomi Scott plays Jasmine. In this rough retelling of the Arabian Nights, Aladdin encounters Princess Jasmine and discovers a magic lamp (Naomi Scott). He only fully sees his value once she unintentionally releases a giant genie.
Both fresh recordings of the songs and a fantastic score by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken are featured in the movie. It also has many DVD extras, such as an entertaining interactive 3D tour inside the Genie's lamp and a virtual trip on a magic carpet.
Disney transports you deep into the African wilderness with The Lion King, their 32nd animated film. It relates to the tale of Simba, a brave little cub who will grow up to rule the jungle. One of the all-time top-grossing animated movies is this one. It has music by Elton John and Hans Zimmer and a cast of believable animal characters.
The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau, stars Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, James Earl Jones, and Beyonce Knowles-Carter as the voice actors. The successful animated feature Finding Nemo was followed up with Finding Dory. In a quest to find her family, she reunites everyone's favorite forgetful blue tang, Dory (voiced by Ellen DeGeneres).
Andrew Stanton, who co-wrote and directed the first, is in charge of this. Thomas Newman, a composer for movies including Skyfall, The Help, and WALL-E, also contributed music to the movie. This tale of a fish in and out of water is full of emotional weight and recognizable characters, even though the plot doesn't attempt to rival Finding Nemo in terms of brains. Disney Pixar is a resounding winner.
Captain Jack, a down-on-his-luck character, senses the winds of misfortune blowing his way in Disney's newest swashbuckling adventure forcefully. He must now travel a dangerous sea in search of the fabled Trident of Poseidon, assisted by a clever and attractive astronomer and a headstrong young man in the British navy. As the swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp makes a comeback. His new castmates include Captain Barbossa, played by Geoffrey Rush, and the villainous Captain Salazar, played by Javier Bardem.
The first trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX, the ninth and final movie in the Skywalker saga, has been made available by Disney. The movie recounts the Resistance's struggle against the Galactic Empire and the malevolent First Order under the command of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Domhnall Gleeson, Billy Dee Williams, and Naomi Ackie, a debutant, appear in the movie. J.J. Abrams, who also authored the script, is directing it.
One of the most well-liked attractions in Disney history is The Haunted Mansion. It is a classic and has been around for over 50 years. In 2023, a movie adaptation of the attraction is scheduled to debut, starring LaKeith Stanfield, Rosario Dawson, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Jared Leto, and Jamie Lee Curtis, among others.
The narrative centers on Gabbie (Dawson), a single mother who moves into a mansion in New Orleans and learns about the building's extensive history of hauntings. She asks a priest, a historian, and tour guides to help exorcise her house.

Inmigración, ¡esperanza para el futuro de España! España será multirracial, multicultural y multiétnico, o no será...

i’m humbly requesting a little stardew-esque fact sheet abt ximena. what would she love to be gifted. what does she hate. if i got her to max heart level what would happen. i love her
HI HEATHER I'M AN ABSOLUTE FLOP WHO CAN'T ANSWER ASKS IN A TIMELY MANNER pls take a looney tunes hammer and bonk me w it i give u permission
on the upside i have located my tablet pen and had a lot of fun putting a chart together for her but for real ! let's get the rundown
Tumblr media
loves, in order: strawberries, rainbow shells, coffee, wine, complete breakfast, sunflowers, and solar essence :) what a surprise, the summer baby loves the sun. more at 11
hates, in order: cabbage, beer (more accurately, she's picky abt her beers-- she has one or two she actually likes and the rest taste like trash to her), void mayonnaise, void essence, mushrooms, coleslaw, and artichoke >:3 don't be fooled this girl loves her veggies, she'll tear up some broccoli rabe, but these few ones greatly offend her
relationships, in order: Javier (main squeeze- unless you can win her over 😳), her cousin @el-michoacano's Aurelia, her mama Fatima, Tuco, and Lalo teehee...
"Big Three" zodiac chart: cancer sun, virgo moon, libra rising
I used a SV sprite creator for Mena, Javi, and Lia but wasn't satisfied w how the other three were coming out so I used some other SV characters as a template and drew them manually!!
Ximena's probably one of the first NPCs you would meet and she'd be friendly out the gate, but she can be a little reclusive and shy. With a bundle of strawberries, a bouquet of sunflowers and a pretty shell she'll be yours ! Once she reaches max heart level she would have a heart event where you two are bundled outside in her backyard at night. She has a lot of pretty fairy lights strung up around the porch and you let her ramble about how stars used to be the primary mode of navigation. "Sky maps," Ximena sighs. "After that I fell in love with maps of all kinds. I couldn't get enough of it. I carry this with me-" she pulls out a worn, well-loved compass. "A present from my dad for my 12th birthday. Ever since losing everyone, on the days I'm really missing them, my husband, my brother... I pull this out and come outside, find South and sit in that direction." You ask her why. "South is Chihuahua. South is home. If I look back, it's like... I don't know, like I'm looking back in time. Like they're still there. All I have to do is look South on this compass and everyone's waiting for me at the dinner table." Huddled under one blanket against a light nighttime breeze, she lets you hold the compass, and it feels like the highest honor.
