GRINDERS ON A MISSION -- TO PUT OSAKA ON THE EXTREME MUSIC MAP.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on band members Naoto, Tottsuan (R.I.P.) and Yasue of Japanese grindcore/extreme music group S.O.B at the Eggplant, Osaka (homebase for the band), c. 1986.
OVERVIEW: "Crazy how it’s ‘86 and already CRUMBSUCKERS’ popularity (with the release of "Life of Dreams") had reached Japan. It goes without saying how S.O.B. arguably defined the genre known as grindcore, and that had it not been for "Leave Me Alone" and the "Don’t be Swindle" 12”, grindcore as we know it may not have had such a distinct structural sound, and even some '90s HxC would’ve been arguably different."

OH MY GOODNESS...I JUST THOUGHT OF THE UTMOST INTERESTING IDEA!
Coin makes his return...as a ghost...
I feel like this could work, *especially in JSRF*. I'm hoping it can work in the new game as well.
I've recently drawn doodles of this idea to see how this would work. On paper. But there's also this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[I'm still thinking of how Ghost Coin will look, so the design on the image might be temporary]
I'd imagine that you'd unlock him post game, there would be a secret way to get him.
Passer-byes might ignore his presence or comment on a "cold breeze", because of his body not able to touch, hold and feel some things. This might give him an advantage as certain entities just go through him.
I don't know if he'll take damage to enemies or do graffiti, heck, even trying to equip the graffiti spray.

lowkey obsessed with kuro and shiro mujou. they're literally the 黑白无常 heibai wuchang of chinese folk religion, but re-imagined in a heian period japan setting so now they're shinigami, who were possibly themselves influenced by western concepts of the grim reaper (and kuro mujou's design reflects this, with his scythe). they're on like triple layers of folk religion psychopomp/death personification and i love it.

wow I haven't seen this brand in 20 years something is happening
coca cola and affiliated drinks are somewhat synonymous with israel around here. idiots would buy cola and film themselves pouring the drink down the toilet to protest when I was younger...no idea if it's still a trend, but I do remember some people stabbing oranges - the fruit, if it wasn't obvious already - to protest the netherlands a few years back. anything's possible

I think I was hobbling myself with how I was doing translations in Shu (getting all the definitions for all the words sorted out and then trying to go back and translate a sentence or throw it in a translator if I couldn't figure it out for myself)
Conversely, with Oni, I'm trying to write out the fragments of the sentence I can confidently put together without having to look it up and then working with those fragments as I'm pulling up definitions for the words I don't know and the difference in what I'm able to put together on my own that way is kind of wild, maybe because I'm finding these words and immediately trying to put them in context instead of taking all the words out of context and trying to rearrange them after the fact
Either way, it's making me feel really good about how my reading comprehension is coming along. I'm still not fluent by any means and I've got a lot left to learn, but I've gotten way farther than little high school me struggling through another lesson of not understanding te-form conjugations could have imagined, and it feels nice :)
