The protesters contend that cancellation should be ordered across the board, since re-examination for just one centre would go against the principle of "level playing field".The Jan Suraaj Party's stand comes in the backdrop of the protesters getting full support from Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition who has promised to "walk four steps for ever single pace you move forward".Meanwhile, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, the independent MP from Purnea who swears by his loyalty to the Congress, also visited the site of the protest and declared his support to the stir.However, Chandrashekhar Singh, the district magistrate of Patna, issued a strongly worded statement vowing to crack down on the protest which, he claimed, was leading to law and order problems."The protest is being led by non candidates (gair pariksharthi) who are trying to mislead the genuine aspirants for political reasons", said the DM."Some coaching institutes also seem to be behind the protest which has been marked by baseless and provocative statements, aimed at creating law and order problems. All are being identified for strict action", the DM added.He also said "a handful of the protesters today went to the Gardani Bagh hospital, claiming they were on a hunger strike and had taken ill, but ended up manhandling the staff on duty. Prashant Kishor's party also hit out at the Congress, accusing its leader Jairam Ramesh of sharing the fake image. On its official X handle, Jan Suraaj shared a screenshot that they claimed proved that the document was shared by the senior Congress leader on WhatsApp.

"Look at the irony! Congress, Rahul Gandhi You all talk about fake news and claim to be the victims. Now see yourself how the head of Communications of Congress Party, Jairam Ramesh, apparently a senior leader, is personally circulating a fake document," the party said in the post.

The image shows a BJP letterhead claiming that party president JP Nadda has appointed Prashant Kishor as the party's national spokesperson. It was shared by several users on X and Facebook.

The image went viral after Mr Kishor predicted a victory for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP in an exclusive interview with NDTV on Tuesday.

Mr Kishor, who had worked with PM Modi and the BJP during the 2014 polls, said that the BJP's tally in this election may hover around its 2019 score of 303 or better than it. He also credited the ruling party with shifting the election discourse from merely crossing the half-way mark to winning 370 seats in the Lok Sabha.

"In the last three-four months, the discussion has centred around '370' and '400 paar'. Consider it a BJP strategy or Opposition's weakness, but the BJP has entirely shifted the goalpost from 272 to 370. This has benefitted the BJP. Now, no one is saying Modi ji will lose, they are saying they may not get 370 seats," said the poll strategist.

Election strategist Prashant Kishor on Thursday announced his intentions to create a platform of like-minded people named “Jan Suraaj” aimed at transforming his home State Bihar. Keeping the option open for launching a political outfit, the former JD(U) leader said he would launch a 3,000-km “padyatra” (march) from Gandhi Ashram at Champaran on the Mahatma’s birthday, October 2.

Addressing a Press conference in Patna, Kishor said he was in touch with “about 18,000 people” who shared his vision for Bihar and whom he will “try to meet personally”, before launching his “padyatra’.

After his talks with the Congress to join the grand old party fell through, Kishor came out with an outline of his project in Bihar, titled “Jan Suraaj”, drawing inspiration from Gandhi’s aphorism of “the best politics is right action”. He had recently announced his decision to go back “to the real masters — the people”.

“A political party can be floated even a few months ahead of elections. Bihar faces no election in the next few years,” Kishor said, averting pointed questions about his future political moves.

“I plan to cover a distance of 3,000 km in about a year. I will travel to every nook and corner of the state and meet as many people as possible, trying to learn from their grievances and aspirations,” he said.

Kishor, has provided election consultancy through his firm, IPAC, to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar,  his arch-rival Lalu Prasad Yadav, and a host of other political parties. including the BJP, credited the two Bihar leaders with achievements in terms of social and economic empowerment in the last three decades, but said there was much to be done.  “Still, it is undeniable that Bihar continues to be at the bottom in terms of all development indices. The state needs a new political alternative,” said Kishor.
