There's a Big Surprise! ~ Jamil Viper
Summary: Kalim is throwing yet another party when Jamil was hoping for an actual day off. Now he has to be there because you’ve been roped into being the headlining act. He has to protect you, you know!
Pairing: Jamil Viper X G/N!Reader
Genre: Fluffyish Oneshot
Word Count: 2187
Warning: Jamil is going through it
Masterlist
Now, Jamil knew he was supposed to be relaxing. He was home for the holidays and his parents gave him the day off to take time himself. And he really did try. He went shopping with his sister for a couple hours and walked around the palace gardens. But he couldn’t relax. Something was bothering him, but he couldn’t put his finger on it.
He then knew something was up when you came rushing to him with the biggest smile on your face. “There you are! Kalim and I have been looking all over for you!”
“Why? What’s wrong? Has something happened?” He asked, frantically. Of course something happened. Kalim could never stay out of trouble. But getting you involved in it? That was one line too far. He needed to fix this right now!
Instead of answering him, you handed him a piece of paper. Upon further inspection, he realized it was an invitation. Kalim was throwing another party. And you had him all worried for nothing!
“A party?” He asked, his earlier worry gone from his voice. He rolled his eyes as he handed the invitation back to you with a huff. “Wow, there’s a big surprise! I think I’m going to have a heart attack and die from surprise.”
You frowned. “But didn’t you see the bottom? The special guest part?”
His gaze flicked to the part of the invitation you were pointing at. There at the bottom, it announced that a special guest was invited to sing. His eyes widened at the name.
“You?! You’re singing at his party?”
Nodding, you hugged the invitation to your chest. “Yes! Isn’t it exciting? He asked and I couldn’t say no. I can’t wait for tonight! You are coming, right?”
Initially, Jamil intended to decline. He still had the day off. He could hide in his room and pretend he never saw that irresistible sparkle in your eyes. But the way your excitement lit you up like a firework, well, what could he say?
“I have to. Kalim will get into trouble if I don’t.”
That wasn’t what he wanted to say. Especially seeing you deflate at his words. He wanted to take it back, but you put a brave smile back on your face.
“Oh, well, yeah, I suppose. But I’ll still see you tonight, right?”
He nodded. “Yeah, I’m sure.”
“Good. I’ll see you tonight.” And with a shy wave, you raced back to the palace, probably to get ready for tonight.
Letting a long breath, he shook his head. This was going to be a long night for him, he just knew it. He might as well get it over with.
If Jamil thought he was restless before, he was way worse now. All he could think about was you singing at the party. How did Kalim rope you into it? What were the stipulations with this agreement? Why didn’t you run this by him first, so he could tell you this was a bad idea?
That last question gave him pause. Why did you need to tell him about what you were doing? You had your own life. He didn’t have to interfere with it. But why did not being told that you agreed to sing at Kalim’s party bother him so much? He couldn’t put his finger on it, but it was frustrating. So he tried not to think of it, even though the question kept swirling in his mind.
As the hour for the party’s start drew nearer, Najma was laughing at him.
“You look like a wreck.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked, a frenzied edge to his voice.
She shook her head with a chuckle before sitting him down at his desk and grabbing a brush. While she brushed through his tangled hair, she explained. “You look like you’re about to punt Kalim to the sun and like you’re about to throw up at the same time. I’ve never seen you this crazed about one of his many parties, like ever. So what’s the deal, huh?”
He shook his head, causing her to whine in annoyance as he continued to mess up his hair. “It’s nothing. Just drop it, Namja.”
“I can’t! I want to know what’s going on in that big brain of yours.”
With a huff, he muttered, “It’s just, Y/n is going to be singing tonight. And I don’t like it.”
She paused for a brief second. “You don’t? I thought you’d be overjoyed to hear them sing. I’ve heard them once and they’re amazing!”
“I mean, yeah, I’m curious. But I don’t like how they didn’t tell me they were going to be singing at the party.” He shoved his face in his hands. “And then I feel guilty for thinking that because they don’t have to tell me shit. They can do whatever they want! But I still don’t like this.”
“Oh… I get it now.” Namja snickered as she tied his hair back in a low ponytail.
He opened one of his eyes. “What?”
“You’re jealous.”
This caused Jamil to explode out of his desk chair, almost knocking his sister to the ground. “I AM NOT! WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT?!”
She burst in hysterical laughter and pointed at him. “YOU SO ARE OH MY GOD! THIS IS AMAZING! I never thought my big brother would be jealous over a person, least of all jealous over Kalim!”
“NAMJA!”
Shaking her head, she wiped a tear from her eye. “You’re right, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. But it’s true. I never thought you’d be jealous. And you’re so cute when you are.”
As she pinched his cheek, he groaned. “If you’re not going to help, just leave.”
“Fine.” She sighed. Before she did, she added, “I’ll go help Y/n get dressed. They’re going to look so cute so you have to be there tonight, alright? I don’t want any of our hard work to go to waste.”
Once his sister left, Jamil flopped into his bed, messing up his hair that she just fixed. Now he had to deal with the fact that maybe, just maybe, he was jealous. And that thought scared him half to death.
It didn’t take long for him to be back on his feet and right in the middle of the receiving room of the palace. At least he got to see some of his friends from school. Kalim sent invitations to everyone at NRC to celebrate the beginning of the holidays with him and his friends in the Scalding Sands. So he said hello and exchanged pleasant small talk.
However, anxiety tickled the back of his mind. Where were you? Were you still getting ready? Were you hiding away, practicing for your little performance? Or were you hiding from everyone, scared out of your mind, and trying to talk Kalim out of it?
Wherever you’re at, he needed to be there.
Again, the thought surprised him. He didn’t need to be where you were. No, he needed to be where Kalim was, to keep him safe. But he had no idea where he was. So he stayed in the receiving room, keeping his eye out for Kalim or you.
“ATTENTION EVERYONE! MAY I PLEASE HAVE YOUR ATTENTION?”
Jamil glanced over to the back of the room. While he was keeping some rowdy party guests from causing too much trouble, he missed Kalim entering the room. Curious and anxious about what he had to say, he turned his full attention to him, arms folded over his chest.
“HELLO EVERYONE! FIRST, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING TO MY LITTLE PARTY! IT’S ALWAYS SO NICE CELEBRATING WITH GOOD FOOD, GOOD MUSIC, AND GOOD FRIENDS. AND SPEAKING OF GOOD MUSIC, I WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUNCE WE HAVE A SPECIAL LIVE MUSIC EVENT! IF YOU WOULD ALL PLEASE FOLLOW ME INTO THE MAIN BALLROOM…”
And with that, there was a mass exodus to the ballroom, with Kalim in the lead. Jamil tried to catch up with him, but there were too many people in the way. So much for a little party.
The ballroom was dark and covered in dark, thick drapes. The back section of it had a curtain over a makeshift stage. That must be where you were going to perform. Goosebumps prickled his skin and a chill washed over him. It was too late to stop him or you. All he could do now was watch.
Kalim hopped up onto the stage and spoke into a microphone. “EVERYONE! PLEASE PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER AS I AM PROUD TO ANNOUNCE Y/N L/N!”
The curtain rose. There you were, in a stunning outfit, smiling brighter than the stage lights. You looked absolutely astounding. He couldn’t help but stare, not realizing his jaw had dropped slightly. Carefully, you walked up to the mic, introduced yourself again and introduced the song you began to sing.
It was perfect, as if it was made for your voice. He thought he never wanted to hear another song again, unless it was sung by you. You were practically made to perform.
“Enjoying the show?” Kalim popped up beside his shoulder, scaring him half to death. He chuckled as he shut Jamil’s mouth, which made him even more flustered.
“How did you rope them into this?” He asked instead.
“They asked. Besides, who am I to turn down such a beautiful voice? They’re like a siren, you know?”
He didn’t answer.
Kalim just shrugged. “Well, they’re not my siren. Their heart belongs to someone else.”
Jamil glared at him, which only caused him to laugh.
“You are so easy to read, my friend! Tell them how you feel after the show! They’ll appreciate it, I promise.” He patted him on the back before making his rounds with his guests.
Instead of following him, to make sure he didn’t get into any trouble, Jamil turned his focus back to you. He didn’t know what it was, but you had some kind of pull, some kind of attraction that just made you so mesmerizing. It was like your voice sailed through the crowd of people just to pierce his heart.
He was hooked onto every word until the curtain closed after you took your bows. As soon as the curtain dropped and the lights raised, he was snapped out of the spell you cast. He realized he hadn’t seen Kalim or heard him in awhile, so he decided to go looking for him. Hopefully he didn’t get into too much trouble. As he went looking, he still couldn’t shake the last remnants of your performance. It was like a residual effect from your siren song, and it had him in a vice grip.
“You were amazing! Absolutely amazing!” Jamil heard Kalim’s voice practically squeal from a back room. Without thinking, he entered to see Kalim and Namja crowding around you.
“Why thank you, Kalim.” You caught Jamil’s eye and you smiled brightly at you. “And what did you think, Jamil? Did I do good?”
His first thought was you were still glowing from being on stage, looking even more radiant than you usually did. His second thought was if he kept you hanging on for an answer for too long, you’d think he didn’t like it. So he quickly cleared his throat to answer.
“You were wonderful.”
Your smile only got brighter at his words and you pushed through your friends to get to him. “Thank you so much, Jamil! That actually means a lot, coming from you.”
“O-oh?” He didn’t mean to sound as flustered as he did and he hoped you didn’t notice.
Unfortunately, Namja did. Beckoning for Kalim, she said, “Alright, we’ll give you two some privacy. Come on, Kalim. I’m dying to try some of those hors d'oeuvres you picked out.”
“Oh? Oh, OH! Yes! We’ll be back!” And with that, they practically raced out of the room, slamming the door behind them.
You laughed as Jamil cursed the both of them in his head. However, he short-circuited as you took his hand. “I’m really glad you came to see me tonight, Jamil. I was really nervous about singing in front of all those people, but upon seeing you in the crowd, I wasn’t scared anymore. So thank you, so much.”
He didn’t know what to say. He didn’t even know what to think. What should he be thinking? What should he do? His mind was completely blank and it was making him panic.
“And, since I’m still high off of adrenaline from performing, I have enough courage to do this.”
And then you kissed him on the cheek.
If he was brain fried before, he was completely out of brain cells now. When you pulled back, he stared at you dumbly with wide eyes.
“What?”
“Too much?” You asked, a little embarrassed and disappointed.
He shook his head quickly, pulling you closer. To hell with being careful and trying to figure out his feelings for you. He wanted you closer.
“Not at all.” And with that, he kissed you on the lips. And he smiled as you kissed him back.

SOS — Overblots x gn! reader
summery: The one time you try to be proactive its like the world has it out for you; or, you get hurt while cleaning Ramshackle dorm and the overblot boys are the one who helps you.
tw: mentions of blood, injury, Malleus is a bit overdramatic...so is Grim.
wc: 1.8k (~230 each character)
Master List
No phone, no tv, not even a book. Not wanting to leave the comfort of your dorm, you decide to start something you’ve been putting off for quite some time now. Cleaning. You started with the living quarters, then the kitchen, then the closet. When you finished with the first floor you decided you’d clean your room and be done. Fate seemed to not be on your side, as when you climbed up the creaky steps, one step was a bit too creaky. When you put your full weight on it, you let out a gasp as the wood gave out from under you. Yes, that's right, your dorm was so run down that the stairs gave out on you. And there you lay in pain, no way to contact anyone. Thankfully, Grim came back from whatever he was doing to avoid helping you clean, you had never seen him look so horrified when he found you among the rubble of wood, splinters galore with bruises and scratches covering your skin. You also never saw Grim run so fast for something that wasn’t his premium cans of tuna. You could only hope he could find help quickly, it felt like something was wrong with your ankle and you wanted to get help asap.
❥ Riddle Rosehearts
At first, Riddle watched the panicked Grim wearily. He was always with the Aduece duo so he thought Grim was panicked from their troubling shenanigans. Instead, he felt his heart drop when Grim sputtered your name among the words fallen and hurt. Riddle rushed to the Ramshackle dorm with Cater and Trey in tow. When he found you, battered and bruised he felt his blood boil. He knew your dorm was run down, that it needed repair, but he didn’t think that Crowley would be so neglectful to the point of it harming someone. He would have to have a stern talking to the headmaster after he knew you were treated properly. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to carry you as he…was small for the average man…but he made sure Trey held you gently, constantly asking how you feel and if there’s anything he can get you to help. As soon as you were in the infirmary being treated, he marched his way straight to the headmasters office. No way was he going to allow this to continue, Crowley must renovate your dorm this instant and he won’t settle for less. In the meantime, he’ll take care of you in his dorm, you were basically a Heartslabyul student already, so it made sense. Don’t worry, prefect, he’ll help you while you're injured, although the extra attention you get from everyone makes him a little jealous.
❥ Leona Kingscholar
He was trying to get some rest when your little pest of a rat came bothering him. He opened one eye to glare, confused as to why Grim would be crying. Leona could barely make out what the creature was blubbering about, snapping at him to speak clearly. So when Grim finally managed to shout that you're critically injured and you're going to die and you need help, Leona didn’t hesitate, grabbing the rat by his scruff and stalking towards your dorm. He’ll be damned if you're hurt, what did you even do to get into that state? He swears you are such a headache. His green eyes scanned your dorm, finally falling upon your form in a heap of wood, your weak cry of his name making his ear twitch. So many emotions pooled into him as he noted every little scratch. Although he grumbled, ears twitching and tail swaying angrily, he held you softly, making sure not to hurt you anymore than you already were. And no, clearly your dorm was falling apart, no way in hell was he letting you go back. You were treated much better that time you both shared his room, so what’s the problem? You’re stuck with him now, herbivore. Don’t worry that silly little head of yours, he’ll make sure he clears things up with Crowley.
❥ Azul Ashengrotto
Poor, poor Grim. As he ran out, tears blurring his vision, he cried out for help to the first shadowy figure he could. Unfortunately that was Floyd and Jade. The two eels grinned toothily, Grim once again being perfect prey…though they paused as Grim mentioned your name. Floyd asked what was wrong with shrimpy, and that’s when Grim cried out about how you're a bloody heap of a mess, dying alone as they speak. Jade quickly pulls his phone out, alerting Azul of the current circumstance as his brother is already making his way towards your dorm. Although the Leech twins can be cruel, you were not only their friend, but their boss’s love, and so when they found you, not in as dire of a situation as Grim made it be (you were clearly hurt, but not dying), they gently pried the wood off of you and carried you to the infirmary. Azul was already there, waiting anxiously, his heart dropping when he saw your state. You gave him a strained smile, and his heart broke, even with your terrible injuries, you’re still trying to comfort him. Don’t worry prefect, he and the twins will watch over you until the last scratch seals and the last bruise fades. Oh, and your dorm? Don’t worry about that, Azul will make sure Crowley pays the price for his negligence towards you. He has his ways, after all.
❥ Jamil Viper
When Jamil spots Grim running towards him, he feels his headache growing worse. Kalim had been worse than usual with his spending, and now he’ll have to deal with another problem. That headache grows ten times worse when Grim manages to sputter about how you’re hurt and need help. Without a second thought, Jamil drops his current task, rushing to your dorm. His heart was pounding, scared of just how hurt you could be, why that was, and if he was too late. You’ve been the only thing keeping him sane lately, and he wasn’t sure what he’d do without you. When he found you dazed with wood surrounding you he dropped to your side, assessing the damage done before doing his best to pick you up. Once you were safe and sound in the infirmary, he tried to stay by your side for as long as he could. He didn’t mind the idea of tending to you, especially not with you in this state. But his duty lied elsewhere, and eventually he had to wrench himself away, but only when you fell asleep peacefully and that it was confirmed that you’d recover well. What surprised him was when Kalim told him to take care of you, that he could take care of himself for the time being (he couldn’t and Jamil knew that)...and now you were a Scarabia student, both Kalim and Jamil refused to allow you back into that decrepit dorm and hurt yourself any further.
❥ Vil Schoenheit
Rook and Vil were actually on their way to see you when they stumbled upon a sniveling, sobbing, Grim. They watched him as he mumbled and muttered, spewing incoherent sentences. Vil stared at him with a sharp look, telling him to get to the point. He felt his heart drop when your name was spouted along with hurt and dying. Without a second thought, Rook took off towards your dorm, Vil not far behind. He cared for you far too much to just sit around when you needed his help. He hadn’t even managed to enter your dorm, Rook already carrying you out. Vil rushed to your side, moving your hair out of your face and inspecting you for anything that was death threatening. His heart continued to break as you complained about the pain on the way to the infirmary. He did his best to comfort you, promising to treat you to whatever you wish once you were fully healed. By the end of the day, he’s already finished giving an ultimatum to Crowley. If he doesn’t repair Ramshackle, then not only will he expose him, but he’ll make sure you're taken into Pomefiore and treated properly. He won’t let such an offense be taken lightly.
❥ Idia Shroud
Grim was lucky he ran into Ortho. The humanoid android may look small, but he’s got strength. Grim was sobbing to the point of hysteria, unable to properly communicate the dire situation. Thankfully, Ortho doesn’t need any convincing, only following the poor creature scrambling back to Ramshackle dorm. When Ortho saw you collapsed in a heap of rubble his inner alarms blared. An emergency signal was sent to Idia, and when Ortho sent the message of bringing you to the infirmary he felt a rush of panic hit him. Scrambling, he turned on the security camera footage, watching with wide eyes at you in Ortho’s arms. You had blood and bruising, dear seven what happened? His fear of your well being overpowered his fear of everything else, and he quickly ran…walked to the infirmary. He awkwardly stayed by your side as Ortho fetched whatever you needed, his eyes tracing over every scratch and cut. He felt like it was his fault somehow. You looked better with the blood wiped off though, and you weren’t in critical condition. When you jokingly mentioned that even stairs were your enemy here Idia frowned. He anonymously messages Crowley while you sleep, sending clips that could ruin his career. He won’t release them, as long as Crowley rebuilds Ramshackle to be as spick and span as any other dormitory.
❥ Malleus Draconia
The second Grim stumbles upon Malleus and snaps out of his hysteria. The fear of the powerful being overwhelms him for a second before he pitifully mutters that you need help. Malleus only tilts his head at the tiny creature before nodding, silently asking him to lead the way. At first Malleus didn’t think much of it, only happy that you needed his help. That was until he heard your weak whimper, then saw your frail body mutilated by debris…yeah he’s the most dramatic one. Although you were hurt you definitely weren’t mutilated. He’s also the most gentle, carefully cupping your face as the wood that surrounded you was instantly incinerated. Every wince or whimper as he lifted you up was met with profound apologies, like he was the one who hurt you instead of rotting infrastructure. Instead of taking you to the infirmary, he takes you to his room where he brings only the best healers. Please don’t try to stop him, this is for your well being, and he won’t settle for mediocre. Lilia only encourages him, and his retainers are no help. So you're stuck in the biggest bed with the silkiest sheets…actually it's dangerous that you were brought here because you're not sure you could go back to the itchy thin cotton sheets you’ve been stuck using as blankets. Though, you won’t really have to worry about that because Malleus has already made the decision to keep you with him in his room…well if you’re not comfortable with that then he’ll give you your own room and he’ll make sure it has the best amenities. Just don’t mind that it's right next to his room.

💀🎃👻Spooky Greetings👻🎃💀
A/n: This literally came to mind when I saw something similar in the actual game event. First time posting twst content here. This may get a sequel. Gonna try to post variety spooky content here cause HAPPY OCTOBER YALL!
SPOILERS for the new Halloween game event going on, somewhat. Also, a bit of Skully x fem!reader and implied fem!reader x the twst bois shown/tagged down below. Short Harem drama, kinda. Not much. But I think it ain't half bad.
*DON'T STEAL, COPY, EDIT, REPOST AND TRANSLATE MY FANFIC WORK. REBLOG, LIKE, FOLLOW PLS N THNX.*

“Hello, my lovely~”
The moment this new strapping figure — “Skully J. Graves at your service~” — appeared holding you in his arms as you awoke, you were awestruck at the spooky strapping young man.
After introducing all of yourselves, watching him kiss the hand of your schoolmates was amusing; seeing their appalled expressions. Guessing they don't get that brand of greeting often, huh?
Him kissing Grim's cheek had his fur stand on end to your delight.
And yet?
The moment he took your hand — only to pull you in and kiss you smack dab on the lips?
You felt the fires of envy and hate turn ablaze as the various pairs of eyes glowed outrageously.
Many hands, gloved or not, snatched him off you.
And all hell broke loose.
“Get your grubby hands off my beloved, you cretin!” Riddle turned red even his paled up Gothic aesthetic; Trey holding the struggling boy back in his arms.
“He means MY herbivore, skeletal bastard.” Leona growled in Skully’s face as he grabbed his collar.
“On the contrary, MY angel isn't up for auction when it comes to kisses from mere worms.” Azul's irked smile gave off unpleasantness.
“Oho? That doesn't seem to be the case, surely.” Jade jested to his boss's ire.
“MY jewel’s already doing so, octo pimp. That goes for you too, street rat.” Jamil hissed them both back and forth.
“Have you no manners of consent, you mongrel? Besides, my darling Y/n has better taste than you all. Me, for example.” Vil flaunted in the others irked faces; Epel looked just about done at this point.
“Don't you dare take away my Otaku goddess, you noob!” Idia gripped dramatically to the others nuisance.
“How dare you lay a finger on my beloved human.” Malleus spoke doom.
The air around them crackled with literal lightning as emerald flames had his hands full.
“My future Queen … prepare yourself … FOR HELL.”
“WAKA-SAMA!” Sebek switched to fanboy mode at his God's might.
“For once, we're on the same page.” Leona's smirk sent his way spoke volumes as he dropped Skully before the dragon prince.
“TSUNATARO, STAND DOWN! ALL OF YOU, PLEASE!” You got in the way to defend the new anime boy from the others' united wrath, especially Malleus's. “One kiss is not that big of a deal.”
You could hear a pin drop now as everyone, even Skully, viewed you as if you had two heads.
“Good grief. Ya sure you're not magical? Cause you're bewitching them into lovestruck fools. And you're not dating any of ‘em. God, you're an idiot.” Grim griped.
Leona, Jamil, and Sebek appeared as glowing eyed phantom monsters ready for the kill. “YOU'RE ONE TO TALK, FUR BALL!!!”
Yet Skully looked unperturbed, his charming toothed smile arised, as Grim got chased by three SSR dressed pissed off mages. “Oya oya … What a lively bunch, you all are. And all because I took a kiss from your sweet lips, lovely Y/n. But if you are single, then may I ask you out?”
“NO!!!” All the former overblot cases now turned bachelors for your token affections shouted in unison.
Trey, Jade and Epel and you hung your head in exasperation.
Ah, quite the Harem dilemma.
Halloween coated, no less.

Do you think Grim would bite any of the yandere boys for getting too close to his henchman? Like WHAT DO YOU MEAN Rook fucking Hunt bypassed the security system AGAIN. Azul's ass WAS NOT hired as a 'safety inspector'. Yes Kalim we did get the party invite. No Ace you cannot sleep in Ramshackle because Riddle kicked you out again. Actually Idia you can stay, we're having issues with the Ethernet cable again.
Anyways it should NOT be this hard to be a lil guy who just wants to chill with the prefect. The kicker? One of the above is your legitimate love interest but Grim could care less.
Gosh, I love to imagine that! Grim is definitely working against everyone who is being troublesome around his dorm and his henchman! Everyone can stay away, and he makes it clear by snapping for their hands and biting their heels, even if they manage to bypass security initially.
The problem is just that he's actually horrible at it when it counts.
For example, Vil who, without fail, brings him a can of tuna every time he shows up at Ramshackle. He places the can pointedly and with an expression that says he wants to forget about the stench of the tuna immediately, and gets a free entry pass from Grim, who is happy to do business with him.
Grim totally lets Ortho simply come and go. He's just a nice kid, what's the harm?
Leona, who battles Grim in a silent stare-off every time he comes to visit, the two spending multiple minutes watching each other, reading the body language of their tails swishing behind them, until finally, Grim groans and tells Leona to be quick about it. Leona always wins, grinning victoriously as he makes his way to his darling.
Jade and Floyd who have, on multiple occasions, blackmailed, coerced (Jade), and simply grabbed and thrown him across the campus (Floyd) whenever Grim stood between them and their darling. As if someone so small could keep them away from what they want.
The teachers, who established that talks with the students are a private matter just between the teacher and the student. You may want to bring Grim, but they don't want him there. What they are going to talk about and do with you should not concern the little, self-centered cat.
Jamil 100% knows some bizarre methods of relaxing animals from his time working for Kalim. No one knows what it is and how he's doing it so damn fast, but once Grim is contently asleep, he has free access to you. After that, Grim won't wake up for a long time, not even hearing you scream from across the room.
Malleus just walks in. What's Grim supposed to do? Stop him?
Literally, the only people Grim stops are the obviously desperate ones since they are careless. But even Rook and Ace have bribed him before, so if you really want to be safe, maybe don't rely on Grim to always have your back :'D

and that says a lot since hes hanging around Jamil every millisecond
It got to a point where you were so closed off that he thought you didnt like him! But overtime he started to realize that you werent hostile, and thats all it took for him to stick to you hard
He’s warm, your ice cold, and somehow is balances out whenever he sticks to you. When it comes to people you care about, you don’t play
He especially loves it when people are literally plotting on his downfall (cough) and you shut them down with no hesitation. He sees you as something akin to an older sibling figure
You tend to call him naive and such, but he laughs in your face and goes “but you’re still going to be my friend!”
Kalim wants you to open up more and “expand your horizons” as he would call it. His words, not yours. So he invites you to big parties to socialize and whatnot.
You show up no matter how much you silently grumble, and he just keeps sending invites and giving you puppy eyes, who are you to resist?
JAMIL
Oooh BOY. You both are shady as hell. Partners in crime, I dare say. Well its more like a mutual respect but nothing too deep.
The tension? So thick it cant be cut. You both are way too similar. Calculating, restrained, watch dogs. You know the list
At first, there was blatant mistrust, and could you blame him? You’re literally like a mafia boss or something. You both watch each other, not watch out for watch other. I mean you WATCH one another.
Any weakness? Any strengths? Analyzed. Its like when Kalim leaves the room, the two of you just sit there and examine one another until he comes back and then he goes, “guys?? Why is it so silent?”
He comes to the point wheres hes like, ok, you arent evil for the love of the game, and honestly? He can respect that, so dab a brother up. You both conduct under one singular function, purpose.
It comes from putting yourself first but also wanting to take care of your loved ones. So he’s both impressed but slightly intimidated by your loyalty to the dorm. It builds up mutual respect
So here comes the silent alliance. Just one mere glance and he can tell what you’re thinking.
‘we’re gonna have to kill this guy, Jamil’
‘damnit.’
Jamil also appreciates the fact that you’re brutally honest and refuse to sugar coat anything. He appreciates that you’re straight to the point without going around in any circles. Especially when he vents about his personal troubles, you nod and listen, opting to understand what he is saying completely.
When things start to get heated, he knows you would have his back, and thats what really counts to him, so of course he shows his loyalty back in his own ways
Maybe cooking food or whatever it may be.

Day 4; Convince.

╰┈➤"Telling your friends that you're in a relationship with Scarabia's vicehousewarden was supposed to be easy and nice to share...Once you can convince them you're telling the truth, of course."
╰►Gender neutral reader, oneshot, 3.2k words.
╰►Note: The prompts are based on words I found interesting and then I put them on a roulette to decide when I would write about them, lol. English is not my first language, so please let me know if there are any grammatical mistakes <3. Not proof read, I haven't written in a long time, so I apologise if anything is out of character.
╰►Masterlist / Inktober Masterlist.

Sleepovers at Ramshackle started as something casual. It only happened a few times every month, maybe the day after an overblot, as a way to make (Y/n) some company after difficult days. However, after some time, they became more regular, and more crowded.
At first, it was only Deuce and Ace. Then Jack joined, then Epel, Ortho, and somehow, even Sebek started to assist, under the excuse that Silver guarded Malleus back at Diasomnia, whereas he was in charge of guarding Ramshackle in case Malleus decided to visit Ramshackle at night, as he usually did (Malleus never went when the Prefect informed him that they were going to have a sleepover with the first-years).
They usually played video games, watched movies or just talked about school stuff. Like they did now, as they were reunited at the lounge of Ramshackle; Ace, Deuce and Epel laying on some makeshift beds that were on the ground, the Prefect sitting on one of the sofas with Grim, Sebek and Jack on the other sofa nearby, and Ortho sitting happily on one of the chairs of the room.
“Did y’all know that Rook’s partner from the Science club broke up with his girlfriend?” Epel commented, as he ate some chips out of a now half-empty bag.
“Epel, don’t you think it’s quite inappropriate to talk about other people’s personal life?” Jack questioned.
“Uuuuh, you’re talking about that one guy from Scarabia?” Ace asked right away, promptly ignoring Jack’s words.
“Yeah, that one.” The Pomefiore student nodded. “You think he cheated or something?”
“It’s kinda mean to suggest that.” Deuce commented. “…But I heard that his girlfriend found some messages from another girl on the past holidays.”
“If that’s the case, he should be punished for tarnishing his dorm’s reputation with such immoral behaviour.” This time was Sebek who joined.
“They didn’t break up because of that, though.” The Prefect clarified. “It was because he did terrible on his last exams, and his girlfriend told him through the phone, and I quote, ‘she wouldn’t date a dumb loser’, something like that.”
“How do you even know that?” Ace was quick to question.
“I was at Scarabia when the girl called him, she was loud enough to be heard even if he didn’t have the volume up.” They replied nonchalantly, as they accommodated the blanket that covered Grim and them, as the small beast complained that he was feeling cold.
“What were you doing at Scarabia either way?” The Pomefiore first-year asked as he reached for another bag of chips.
“Oh, about that…” The Prefect murmured, now wondering if this was the time to tell them. After all, this was one of the few times when all of their friends were reunited in a place without other students around, and they probably would notice at some point, if they hadn’t noticed already. “Now that we’re talking about that, there’s something I’ve got to tell you.”
“Oh, really? Do tell us, Prefect.” Ortho encouraged, moving his chair to hear them more clearly.
“Well, I waited a little bit before telling all of you because we decided to be more discreet for now, but I think is best for you to hear it from me rather than someone else.” (Y/n) started, as the rest of first-years looked at them expectantly. “I’m dating someone.”
For a few seconds, silence prevailed over the room, no visible reaction out of their friends, until Ace suddenly yelled triumphantly.
“I knew you were dating Kalim! Pay up, Deuce!” He immediately turned towards his dormmate to collect their bet.
“Well, congrats Prefect, good for you-“
“What? I’m not dating Kalim!” The magicless human was quick to correct. “I’m dating Jamil!”
Another silence.
And then, Ace’s loud laugh.
“C’mon Prefect! You don’t have to lie.”
“It’s okay if you have a crush on him or something, but you shouldn’t pressure yourself to say such things…”
“We can help you if you want to look for someone else, though.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” (Y/n) questioned discomposed by their friends’ comments, probably more upset at the fact that they weren’t mocking them, and their suggestions seemed genuine, for some reason.
“Please don’t be offended.” Deuce tried to reassure them. "It’s not that you’re ugly or unattractive, I think you’re very nice and pretty. It’s just that…”
“Jamil is…Jamil, y’know?” Ace complemented Deuce’s comment. “I see him a lot at practice, he just doesn’t seem the kind to date someone.”
“Yeah, besides isn’t he like, busy all day with his dorm stuff?”
“Jamil is a very diligent vicehousewarden and a dedicated guardian to Kalim, a relationship would only distract him from his duties!”
“Idia says that he could probably beat him in a competition of who sleeps less, it would be incredible if he managed to be in a relationship even with how tired he probably is.”
“I think you are exaggerating…But I agree he doesn’t look like the kind of person to be in a relationship.”
“His food is really good! You should invite him over more frequently.”
“That’s not the point of the conversation, Grim.” The Prefect sighed, wondering when they thought this would be a good idea. “I’m not saying I like him; I’m saying I’m dating him. Like, we already went through all the confessing part and stuff, he’s my boyfriend!” They stared at their group of friends. “You don’t believe me, don’t you?” They asked with a deadpan expression.
“I’d never call you a liar.” Jack answered immediately. “But it is hard to think about it…”
“Even you, Jack, I can’t believe this.” The magicless human sank onto the sofa, offended that none of them could imagine them dating Jamil. They knew he was handsome and committed to his responsibilities, but c’mon, they were the Prefect of Ramshackle, the one who survived multiple overblots, who built their dorm from scratch and managed to stay sane (lowkey) on a world that wasn’t even theirs. It wasn’t difficult to put some respect to their name, wasn’t it?
“You’re all bad friends and I hate you all.” They mumbled as they covered themselves with the blanket with a dramatic demeanour. “Even Grim was more supportive than all of you.”
“You were?” Ace frowned towards the direction of the little beast.
“He makes nice meals and always brings my henchman food for lunch! He’s not that bad, he brought the great Grim a tuna can once.”
“It’s not like Grim is the best source of information, though…”
“You know what? I’ve got nothing to prove to you.” (Y/n) got up abruptly, the offended expression still adorning their face. “You will see it by yourselves soon enough.”
“Sure, Prefect, if that makes you sleep better at night.”
“One more word and I’ll kick all of you out of my dorm.”

“What class do we have after this?”
“Shared gym class with Vargas.”
“Great, I’ll have to listen to Sebek screaming for an hour more than usual.”
“I’ll let you know I speak on a perfectly decent volume! You humans just have weak ears!”
“Great Sevens, have mercy on me…”
The group of first-years walked on the main hallway, already on their way to their next class, when the Prefect caught a glimpse of a certain vicehousewarden who seemed to be walking towards another classroom.
‘This is my chance to prove them wrong.’
“Jamil, hey!” The magicless human separated from the group to get close to the Scarabia student, who looked at them as soon as they heard their voice. “How are you-“
“I’m very sorry my love, I’ve got a test with Crewel in less than five minutes, I’ll talk to you later.” He walked past quickly with an apologetic voice tone, leaving the Prefect started as they watched him disappear promptly at the end of the hall.
As they stood there, even now far away from their group of friends, they could hear Ace’s snickering, the sound even more prominent as they walked back with them. After all, they were close enough to see how the vicehousewarden turned them down, but not close enough to hear the fondness of Jamil’s voice or the pet name.
“Very romantic, Prefect.”
“Shut up.”

The cafeteria buzzed with the sound of multiple chats of the many tables filled with students from different dorms all around the place. (Y/n) arrived at the table where Ace, Epel, Ortho and Sebek were waiting for them, as Deuce and Jack hadn’t finished their club practice yet. As they sat next to them, their phone suddenly buzzed.
Jamil: ‘I brought you lunch’
Me: ‘I can bring my own meal, you know? I’m not that irresponsible’
Jamil: ‘A meal better than curry?’
Me: ‘…I want you to know that I really love you.’
Jamil: ‘I’m on the tables next to the windows, come quickly’
“I’ll be back in a minute.” The magicless human notified their friends, as they made their way towards the table where Scarabia student was waiting for them.
“Hey handsome, how did you do on Crewel’s test?” The Prefect asked right away, discreetly taking his hand to squeeze lightly as a greeting.
“It was good, I just got late after running some errands in the morning.” He sighed, squeezing their hand back, and then softly dropping it to take the extra lunchbox he brought. “Here, take it.”
“Thank you, Jamil, I really appreciate it.”
“It was nothing, I hope you like it.”
“You cooked it, of course I will. You’ve got practice today after class, don’t you?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Nothing, just asking. See you later.” They turned back, ready to go back to their table with their friends.
‘Heh, now I can show the guys that my beautiful boyfriend brought me a fantastic lunch-'
“Hey stop that! If you’re not careful I’ll-AH, Oh, I’m very sorry!” Suddenly, a first-year from another class crashed against them. “I’m so so sorry, my friend here was bothering me and I- Great Sevens, your lunch!”
Well, now the lunch made by their beautiful boyfriend lay on the ground, and (Y/n) could only stare at it with a deadpanned expression.
“You’re okay?” Jamil rushed to their side, promptly checking if they were hurt by the other student.
“Yeah, but the lunchbox…”
“I can pay for your lunch! I really apologize.” The first-year spoke again. (Y/n) had seen him a few times before, and they knew he wasn’t a bad guy, his only crime was being a bit clumsy and having annoying friends. They had that in common, perhaps.
“No, don’t worry, it's alright.” They commented with a dismissive expression.
“I can give you part of my lunch, if you want.” The vicehousewarden was quick to offer.
“It’s fine, like I said before, I brought my lunch as well. Besides, curry is your favourite. I’ll see you after class.”
“Alright, have a nice meal.”
“You too.”
They turned around and came back to their seat, this time without the lunchbox between their hands, sitting on their spot as they stared at the table.
They, in fact, forgot to bring their own lunch.

Two classes and one-half of a sandwich that Epel gave them later, it was finally the end of the day. It was tiring, but at least it was Friday, which usually meant that a sleepover would take place at Ramshackle, but this time, the boys wanted to try a new video game in which (Y/n) had no interest, so the sleepover would be moved to Heartslabyul, leaving the Prefect a night to rest.
After making a quick stop by the cafeteria, they walked towards the gym, where the basketball practice took place. There, (Y/n) could spot Jamil right away, near the benches. As they entered the room, they greeted other students briefly, noticing then Ace chatting with other first-years in the middle of the court.
‘Maybe this could be a good opportunity to show him he was wrong…’
“It’s good to see you, my love. Did you enjoy your lunch?”
“Yeah, it was very…delicious.” The prefect answered with an awkward smile. “Are you busy after practice?”
“Not really.” He answered, making (Y/n) look at him curiously. “Kalim came back to Scalding Sands for the weekend, for an important family gathering, and he requested for me to stay here.”
“Really? Did he say why he did it?”
“...No.”
“How strange, because Kalim told me last week how happy he was to give you a free weekend to spend with me.” The Ramshackle student teased with a smile. Ever since he found out they were dating (which was like two days after they got together), he seemed so excited for Jamil that (Y/n) could swear that he was probably waiting to organize their wedding right away.
“…Yeah, very unusual. Don’t think much about it.” The vicehousewarden dismissed the topic, a faint blush on his face.
“Well, considering that, would you like to come to Ramshackle tonight? Grim is staying a Heartslabyul, so we could watch a movie or something like that. Only if you want, of course.”
“Yeah, sounds good to me.”
“It’s settled, then.” They smiled at him. “Practice is probably going to start soon, so I should leave. See you at Ramshackle at 6?”
“I’ll be there.” Jamil looked around for a few seconds, before towards them to leave a soft and brief kiss on their lips as a way to say goodbye.
The Prefect stood in their place for a few seconds, dumbfounded, as Jamil walked away nonchalantly towards where the rest of the team was. They had kissed before, but it wasn’t often in public, due to Jamil’s reserved nature, so it was surprising for them.
‘Take that, Ace!’
They walked happily towards the exit, until the figure of a certain first-year appeared through the door.
“Ace? Weren’t you here already?”
“Yeah, but I had to refill my water bottle. Why are you here, anyway?”
“Well, I…” They mumbled, until they suddenly realised. “Wait, you didn’t even see?!”
“See what?” The Heartslabyul student asked, genuinely confused.
“You know what? I don’t care anymore.” (Y/n) sighed, walking away from the gym, and leaving his friend confused at their change of demeanour.
⤿

⤿
“So, they don’t believe you?”
“Yeah, and you haven’t been cooperative either.”
Jamil and (Y/n) chatted as they prepared to go to sleep. They had already spent the evening watching movies and talking, and after Jamil had made dinner for the both of them, they realised how dark was outside. This motivated (Y/n) to suggest that it was too late and too far for Jamil to walk alone back to his dorm (It was 11 pm and it was a 15-minute walk), so he should just stay the night.
They were already lying on bed, just talking, when (Y/n) remembered the dilemma that had bothered them for the past few days and started to narrate his failed attempts to demonstrate to their friends that they were, in fact, incredible enough to date Jamil.
“I didn’t know I had to cooperate in the first place, so that should excuse me.”
“You literally walked past me when I wanted to talk to you.”
“I was late.”
“The boys mocked me for the rest of the day!” (Y/n) complained, plopping their head onto Jamil's chest to prove their frustration. “I can’t believe they don’t think I’m capable of dating you.”
“If it’s making you uneasy, I could talk to them-“
“That would be even more embarrassing.” They sighed. “I gave up. If they don’t want to believe me, it’s up to them.”
“I don’t get them, though. I thought I was obvious, back then when I started to like you, so I believed that your friends would notice.”
“You had too much faith in them. Besides, you weren’t obvious, even I didn’t notice.”
“I tutored you for Trein’s class and I helped you manage your dorm.”
“And?”
“That's a lot more of anything that I’d do for anyone else that wasn’t you.” The vicehousewarden threw one of his arms around (Y/n), who answered by nuzzling closer to him.
“Yeah, you may have a point there.” They replied, yawning as they started to feel the exhaustion get to them. “Can you believe they thought I was dating Kalim at first?” They commented lightly, suddenly feeling Jamil’s body stiffen.
“…They did?” He questioned, a frown on his face, receiving a quiet ‘Mhm’ as an answer. “…I think it would be okay if we started to be less discreet.”
“It wouldn’t make you uncomfortable?”
“Well, holding hands wouldn’t be so bad, right.” The Scarabia student replied, trying to sound nonchalantly. “Besides, it would keep your friends away from incorrect and wrong suppositions.”
“It’s fine by me.” The Prefect mumbled, once again yawning. “But we should sleep already, I’m tired.”
“Goodnight then, my love.”
“Goodnight dear.”

⤿
“Prefeeeeect, we’ve brought you cat!”
“Leave me on the ground! I can walk by myself!”
“You went to the kitchen at 4 am and Riddle caught you, I’m not leaving you until (Y/n) gets you back. I’m getting collared if I don’t!”
“The great Grim was just hungry!”
“Ace, the Prefect is probably sleeping, I don’t think they’ll open the door at this hour.” Deuce mumbled, ignoring Grim's complaints.
“Fine, let’s just leave him in their room.”
The three of them opened the door to the dorm, the interior still cold due to how early it was, the ghosts nowhere to be found yet, even as they made their way through the stairs.
“(Y/n), sorry to bother you, Riddle sent us to drop Grim by and- Ace, isn’t that Jamil?!”
“What are you saying, why would he be here at this hour- Wow, yeah that’s him!”
The duo didn’t even bother to keep their voices low, causing (Y/n) to stir up due to the sudden noise, making them sit down on the bed a few seconds later to look for the source of such scandal.
“Ace…? Deuce…? What are you doing here...” They mumbled, interrupting themselves with a yawn. “What happened to your sleepover?”
“That’s not the point right now, what’s Jamil doing here?!”
“Well, he-“
“My love, what’s with all the noise…?” This time was the vicehousewarden who woke up, tiredly sitting on the bed, until he realized they had company. A company that now was looking at him like he grew two heads.
“Did he just call the Prefect…?”
“Yes, he did.”
“It’s too early for this nonsense.” Jamil mumbled, feeling his cheeks heating up, as he sighed to mask his embarrassment.
“I literally told you two I was dating him like a week ago. Now, I won’t receive Grim before 11 am, so leave my dorm before I call Riddle.” (Y/n) ordered, plopping themselves in the bed to go back to sleep.
“But Riddle said he’d collar us if we didn’t-“
“Not my problem, out of my dorm.”
“But-“
“If you don’t leave right now, I’ll tell Floyd you were the one who ate his snack yesterday.” This time was Jamil who spoke, already annoyed.
“Yeaaah, let’s go Deuce.”
The vicehousewarden sighed once again, coming back to the position he was in as soon as the Heartslabyul students left.
“I’m never speaking to them again.” He mumbled against the Prefect’s hair.
“Why? Because they saw you all soft when waking up?” They teased, chuckling quietly.
“No, because they have no sense of decent hours to wake someone up.”
“Hey, look at the bright side, we don’t have to convince them now.”
“Yeah, whatever, now go back to sleep.”
(Y/n) smiled tenderly, wrapping their arms around the figure of the vicehousewarden.
“As you wish, my love.”

Lucid dreaming
I haven't been the most productive writer this year. I'm also late with the congratulatory gift, but I'll continue anyway. This isn't exactly a New Year's themed work. I wrote it as unexpectedly as I posted it today. Thanks to everyone who's been with me this year! P.S. You can put here any of your favorite characters. Happy holiday my dear 0/
The sky was light purple with clouds running past, always hurrying somewhere. There was silence all around, broken only by the sound of footsteps on the stone-paved road. On the sides there were statues of various villains from different fairy tales. Why your consciousness decided to choose them was a question you would like to know the answer to.
This was not the first time you have found yourself in this place. Sometimes the locations were cut out illustrations from a fantasy book, and sometimes they seemed so real that you were surprised to wake up.
You remembered the very first one from the dream best. It was dark, the source of light was only the lanterns glowing green. Except for the full moon - because, of course, it had to be full - which was burning, a bright noticeable spot, already at this stage not boding anyting well. The road led you through a landscaped park and, it seemed, there was nothing unexpected in this. Until it turned and before your eyes appeared an ornate metal gate, the wicket door standing open. As if inviting you to enter.
In the distance, a castle stood proudly, its sharp towers piercing the sky.
Hearing a horse neighing behind you, you turned around abruptly and woke up. Blinking and trying to catch your breath after the sudden awakening, you replayed such a real scene in your head. As if you had already been there, which was a stupid statement. You were not the type of person running around abandoned buildings and shouting into the void with a flashlight: "Give me a sign!" However, dreams are dreams, and work and getting ready in the mornings were still necessary.
The cold water finally drove away the remnants of sleep, and the amazing dream would have been forgotten in the routine, if it had not been repeated the next night.
And the next.
And the one after that.
Throughout the year.
The bell caught your attention, and you looked up to greet the new customer. It was raining outside, and many people were rushing to hide under the shelter of the roofs of small coffee shops and stores. Yours was no exception.
Well, the cafe wasn't exactly yours. You just worked there as a barista, because, firstly, it wasn't difficult. Secondly, the pay was pretty good. Thirdly… you started working there as a teenager, and now the small establishment had become an integral part of your life. A second home, no matter how saccharine it may sound. You loved this place, and that was only thing that matters.
Usually, the hustle and bustle took up all possible free time and there were no thoughts for unnecessary reflections, but on such a melancholic day with an equally thoughtful accompaniment, it became an exception.
Despite the fact that dreams, against your will, also tightly merged with your everyday life, you could not deny how real they felt from time to time. The texture of objects, the wind on your skin, and even the banal emotions of what was happening. The only thing that kept you afloat was the next awakening after the invisible timer ended. Whatever you saw, whatever place you visited this time, in the end you opened your eyes in your apartment. You walked to your favorite job along familiar streets. You saw the same faces of passersby running through the shop windows to their business.
Everything was as it should have been.
However, you couldn’t shake the feeling that something was slowly starting to change. You no longer felt lonely and restless in the world of dreams. As if you were being thrown into moments when someone was nearby. Even though you couldn’t see each other, the suspicion in the subcortex of your consciousness made itself known.
You first noticed this while sitting in the library, whose shelves with books stretched as far as the view could reach. It was quiet and, taking the first manual on flying on broomsticks that came to hand, you opened it to a random page and dozed off, propping your chin up with your hand. Sleeping in a dream was ironical but the sun shining through the window made you sleepy.
The chair next to you creaked, and you instantly opened your eyes. There was no one nearby. Frowning, you left the book, stood up and walked around the seats, peering around the corners. It was definitely a chair. As if someone had moved it to sit at the table. When you returned to your place, you discovered that the book was closed and put on the edge of the table.
Ghosts didn't exist, you repeated to yourself. Although you were actually asleep, so in the world of your consciousness they could be as real as, for example, you. The realization made you shudder unpleasantly, but not from the cold. The desire to return to the previous place disappeared and, casting another wary glance at the book, you turned to hide in the depths of the library. While away the time until you woke up.
From that moment on, you constantly began to notice someone's invisible presence. Moreover, you could swear that this someone noticed you. You simply did not have direct evidence of each other's existence.
Doubts gnawing from within deprived you of peace during the period intended for rest. Until, finding yourself in the library, you walked to the nearest table to grab a piece of paper and a pen. It looked and sounded stupid. Trying to find an explanation for the oddities in a dream was like asking unnecessary questions in a computer game.
"Are you here?"
Leaving a piece of paper and a pen nearby, you stepped away, turned on your heels and left. If the pen suddenly flew in and started scratching something, you couldn't promise that you wouldn't fall over on the spot. The anticipation was driving you crazy, but it was a necessary decision to try to calm yourself down.
After making a few circles, forcing yourself to read the spines of the books, trying to distract yourself, you walked back slowly. The items were where you left them, only next to your inscription there was another one.
"I'm here"
You dropped into a chair and not taking your eyes off the paper, afraid to touch it. You sat there until you woke up again.
A sigh escaped against your will, forcing your eyes shut and open a couple of times, you tried to straighten up. You probably weren't the best employee today, but the work shift flew by unnoticed. It was time to close. Stepping out into the hall and sitting down on one of the soft chairs, you rubbed the bridge of your nose. That incident wouldn't leave your head and although you never repeated such experiments, it was enough to turn your whole understanding of the dream world upside down. It was one thing to travel to an unknown place and quite another to realize that you were not alone.
The bell on the door rang - someone had arrived. Damn it, you forgot to close the door and turn the sign over. Pulling yourself together, you raised your head to meet an unknown man. Although he was outwardly calm, you noticed how interestedly he was looking around.
"Excuse me, sir, we are closed," you addressed him, drawing his attention to you. Something about him seemed vaguely familiar, but you definitely hadn't met before. You remembered most of the cafe's customers. "You can come in tomorrow, we are open from 8 am."
You looked at each other for a while. This gave you another chance to look him over. He was dressed in some sort of uniform: a black jacket and pants, a colorful vest, a white shirt and a striped tie. Then he closed his eyes and answered more cheerfully than you expected.
"Oh, that's too bad," his expression didn't match the bad - for him - news. "I was hoping to get out of the rain."
You glanced at the door behind him, and sure enough, the rain didn't seem to be letting up. A sentence you would never have uttered to anyone in your right mind was out of your mouth before you could stop yourself.
"I need to close and clean up, it'll take me," you glanced quickly at the clock by the counter. "Half an hour or so. You can wait there until I'd finish but after you'll have to leave."
The stranger's eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a happy glint in his eyes. For some reason, the unexpected remark rang in your head like a bell, even though no one was coming in. Without waiting for his answer - your intuition told you that he would not refuse - you went to the door and turned the sign over to "Closed".
You did not believe in fateful meetings, but perhaps this was one of them? It sounded cheesy even to you, so you ignored the man who had settled down on a chair near the display case. Of all the places, he decided to choose this one.
With sheer willpower, you forced yourself to get down to work, already regretting your words. It was too late to take them back and throw him out into the street.
Surprisingly, he did not try to start a conversation with you, limiting himself to rare glances, for which you were grateful. If he suddenly decided to continue the dialogue, you would have caught a nervous overstrain. Enough impressions from this day.
You finished wiping the tables and looked around the hall. As you got to work, you completely forgot about the man's presence. Turning to the counter, you found that he was no longer there. When did he leave and why didn't you hear? It saved you from unnecessary interaction, though.
You walked over to where he had been sitting, seemingly a moment ago, to wipe down the surface. Then you froze. There was a white paper napkin with just three words on it,
"I'm here."

Monster [Twisted wonderland x reader]
[Summary]: What if there was someone that could Overblot at will and control it? Well you as a magicless student can. You absorb the Overblot around you and use it. Lucky for you it has nothing to feast on, so you also won't loose your mind, because once it's used up, it's used up. You kept that hidden from everyone, but now your lover is in danger and you will protect him.
[Note]: Not grammar checked- (Leona, Floyd and Rook)
Leona:
Azul overblotted, that was clear. His giant octopus form being the biggest proof. Your eyes wander around as you try to find a way to stop him, you had done this two times already, it shouldn't be so hard to do it a third time after all.
Everyone around you was fighting and you wanted to fight too, but they would consider you a monster once they saw what you could turn into. You watched Leona, he was someone you would consider "more than best friends", though you didn't have the guts to ask him if he felt the same.
He was struggling, after all it seemd like Azul used all his pent up anger against him. You wouldn't blame him, Leona was the one who destroyed the contracts after all, that didn't mean you liked it.
Ace threw an attack which Azul dodged with great elegance, causing it to hit Leona. Such a simple mistake caused him to be smashed against a wall.
You suck in your breath and Azul takes this chance to overkill. You see him move in slow mo towards Leona, you would never reach him in time, not in this form.
You don't even notice you have transformed, you don't notice the heavy steps behind you, you only focus on Leona in hopes of making sure he wouldn't be damaged more than he was at the moment.
Your fist collides with Azuls face. You still couldn't use magic, but your physical abilities were higher when average.
Azul staggers, but no one looks at him, everyone looks at you, you the magicless student that just over blotted. "WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING? CONTINUE FIGHTING!" You screech. Everyone starts to continue fighting and you look at Leona.
He stares at you in horror and you feel your heart throb. You probably had ruined all your chances with him you ever had..........
Floyd:
No one knew how you two got together, but one thing was for sure he would run into the flames for you, you of course would do the same. As soon as he heard that you were stuck in Scarabia he came running and at this very moment, Jamil's Overblot he stood next to you willing to fight. You both made a good team, but even the best of teams had a hard time against Jamil.
"FLOYD WATCH OUT!" You yell as you see one of the magical attacks charge towards him. He dodged it, but he wouldn't be able to dodge the second one, you knew that.
You had tried to keep your Overblot form hidden to the best of your abilities, but you threw all of that out of the window as soon as you realised that Floyd could get hurt. You transformed mid jump, taking the hit in Floyd's stet. It didn't hurt as much as you thought if would, though that was probably because you weren't a normal human at the moment.
Jamil looked at you in horror as you stand in front of him. "How about with someone your own size?" You mutter out, charging forward. Everyone who saw you both fight would call this a fight between giants, but you didn't care about that. You had revealed your biggest strength to Jamil and because of that made yourself vulnerable. You had to make sure you wouldn't get controlled by him.
You bit your lip, if he managed to get you your friends wouldn't have to fight one, but two Overblots. Why hadn't you thought this through?
Jamil caught himself pretty quickly, the others still stared. They looked at you as if you were a monster. Okay, you were. You sigh heavily, before charging towards Jamil, your thoughts only focusing on Floyd.
Hopefully he would only be angry at the fact that you didn't tell him and not consider you a horrible monster....
Rook:
He was an eccentric bastard. Maybe that is the reason you liked him so much and it surprised you hs hadn't picked up on your crush on him for now. Maybe he was too focused on Vil to care about your itty bitty crush on you.
You look up at the gigantic monster, before focusing on the smaller figure. Just a few minutes ago everyone had been enjoying the festival and then someone over blotted. Vil the most composed person you had ever met had over blotted and not even Rooks endless love for him were able to stop him.
You tried your best to dodge the attacks and if you hadn't loved him you would have probably slapped Rook across the face, because he had nothing but compliments for Vil.
You didn't worry about the attacks that were send Rooks way, after all he had no problem dodging all of them. You look at the others, would one ov them need your help? Ace was pretty damaged the same went for the rest of your friends.
You were seriously contemplating about whether to turn into your Overblot form or not, Vil was horrible to fight after all, even worse than Jamil. Your legs already hurt from all the running you did.
Maybe that's why you weren't fast enough to dodge the next attack. You were kinda waiting for the magic to hit you and something did hit you, but it wasn't magic.
"Mon dieu, Trickster are you alright?" Someone coughed out. You open your eyes and look into Rooks, he seemed to have pushed you out of the dangers way, taking most of the damage.
"Why did you do that?" You stammer out, your cheecks flushing red as he was still on top of you. "Isn't that what you're supposed to do when you like someone?" He joked, laughing brightly. You couldn't help but admire him, if you had been hit you probably would have passed out.
"Oh Rook, you shouldn't have done that. Now I have to protect you." You try to playfully mumble, but it sounded more like: "oh, ... shouldn't done.... protect you..." But the blonde smiled with a knowing grin. He rolled away from you leaving you to do your business.
You didn't know why you expected him to not know about your Overblot, but it made you happy to know that he still seemed to like you despite that.....

The Extrovert and the Introvert(Kalim Al-Asim x Reader)
Gender neutral reader, referred to as Y/N or Prefect!
Warnings!:
Symptoms of panic attack(ex.: labored breathing, nausea)
Little bit of negative self talk
THE GLUTTON GRIM IS >:( (love him still, he baby)
Possible spelling mistakes, I didn’t proof read it when I transferred it 💀
Word count:
Approximately 2.8k

Kalim was the polar opposite from you it seemed, he was outgoing, friendly with everyone, and loved parties, a convivial type of person, but you liked him for that, finding it fascinating how he just got along with anyone and everyone, watching from the sidelines.
The moments you and him hung out alone were never boring, and he brought a boost of confidence to your being when talking to new people. But you only ever felt like that when around him.
Ironic, the introvert and the extrovert. But, it worked out. Kalim considered you a close friend, and you considered him that as well, but it ran deeper than that, didn’t it?
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
You never were a big party goer at all, not here, and not back in your world. You preferred to stay at home and just watch shows while snacking and playing games on whatever device you deemed fit. Sometimes you missed those quiet moments, especially in certain times like these…
The music booms loud on the stereos, people dancing away to the beat of the music, even a conga line formed of random students paraded the middle of the dance floor. Jamil is stressed out himself as he stocks up the snack tables with newly made food items, running back and forth between the kitchen, and all while keeping an eye on Kalim(poor Jamil). Kalim invited you to everyone of his parties, but you elegantly declined by saying you had to study, or that you had some job to do that Crowley gave you. But, Ace being the stupid guy he is, asked at lunch if you were going to the party. In all truth, you honestly didn’t really want to come, but when Grim heard the word “food” fall from Ace’s mouth, he was all in, and gave you the cute puppy dog eyes(kitty cat eyes?) until you reluctantly said yes to attending.
“Oh! Prefect, I think you’ll like this! It’s a specialty of the Scalding Sands! It’s amazing, try!” He beams happily as he hands you another plate with food.
Luckily Grim munches up most things on your plate, you weren’t really hungry, in fact, you were already starting to get overstimulated from the loud drums of whatever song was playing.
A headache starts to form quickly as people shout. Kalim smiles wide at you before he goes off to interact with the next group of people.
What times was it now? How long have you been here? Only 15 minutes…time couldn’t go by any slower, could it?
“Grim? You done? I think we should head out, we probably have something to study for—“
“Henchhuman, look at all the food! Can’t just leave it!”he interrupts you.
“Grim—“
“Eat now, talk later!” He hums as he stuffs his cheeks full of what seemed to be baklava and various other items.
Your head pounded even more now, and you found it a bit harder to breathe, and also a nauseating feeling starting to build up. Grim will be fine, you just need to get some fresh air and then maybe things will get better.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Navigating through the crowd is difficult, people bump into you from your left and to your right, always knocking you into someone else, causing you to have to apologize time and time again. Your breathing begins to get a bit more labored and your vision a little blurry.
You don’t realize as you walk that you’ve somehow ended up in the middle of the room, people glancing at you with questioning looks. You swallow thickly and you feel your breathing begin to quicken even more.
You shouldn’t have come. You shouldn’t have come, look at them all staring at you, you need to get out—
A hand touches your shoulder gently, causing you to jump.
You turn your head…It’s Kalim.
“Prefect? You seem a little out of it, here, follow me, I know a quieter spot.”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Kalim acts like an airhead most times, and truthfully, he is, but he wasn’t that stupid. He can tell when something seems wrong with the people he cares about, I mean he literally has over 30 younger siblings, him being the oldest of the bunch, so he has some experience in telling whether someone is doing fine or not. Of course he does lack most basic social cues, but he tries his best to understand.
He quietly leads you out to the hallways of Scarabia, the cold, night desert air blowing gently, shocking you back into reality. He keeps a hand on your shoulder as he leads you further and further away, the obnoxious belabor of the music fading into just a faint murmur.
“Prefect, are you ok? Do you need anything? I can go get it for you.” He says, his eyes unusually shaped with worry.
You clear your dry throat as you finally begin to calm down. How embarrassing, completely and utterly embarrassing. Having a panic attack at a party—
“Prefect? You with me still?” Kalim shakes your shoulder gently. You look into his eyes and take a breath in.
“I’m, ok. I guess.” You murmur out. Kalim sighs and he smiles again.
“Good! Hey, I’ll be back, I’ll go get you a water.” He hums as he quickly leaves.
You sigh and you rub your temples, leaning against the wall. Tears prick the corner of your eyes but you quickly wipe them away with your sleeves. Phew, finally away from the party.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Kalim comes back a few minutes later, holding a water bottle and…another plate of food.
“I didn’t know what you wanted.” He sighs as he looks at the stuff. He sits down on the ground, waiting for you to do the same, which you do. You look at him.
“Water, here.” He pushes a water bottle into your hands.
“Oh, do I need to open it for you? I usually have Jamil open mine—“
Was he serious?
“I got it, thank you, though.” You murmur out as you crack the bottle open and sip on it.
“What happened? Ah, I mean, if you wanna tell me.” He stammers. He looks concerned. You look into his eyes again and quickly shift your gaze over to look at a potted plant in a corner that is seemingly more interesting at the moment.
“I guess…I just had a panic attack? I’m not a huge fan of uh…parties.” You whisper out.
You look back over at him nervously, I mean, you just told the guy who loved parties you basically hated going to the plethora of ones he hosted and that you avoided them by fabricating up assignments, but he didn’t seem sad, or disappointed at all.
Kalims eyes softened and he scoots closer to you, hugging you.
“Sorry, prefect. I didn’t know that. How stupid of me! I don’t like seeing you sad, actually I love seeing you smile so, don’t feel bad! I don’t want any of my friends to be sad…especially not you.” He mumbles, the last part of his sentence more so of a whisper to himself. He pulls away and smiles again.
“Maybe I’ll host just a tiny party later on? Would that work?” He beams.
I don’t know if he understood the part of “you not being a huge fan of parties,” but a less crowded one you could probably deal with…I suppose there was really no way of changing his nature.
“Yea, that sounds good.” You sigh as you fidget with the water bottle in your hands. Kalim bounces slightly and smiles wider.
“Awesome! Hey, while Grim binges out, would you maybe wanna go for a carpet ride?” He whispers with a smirk on his face.
“Maybe it’ll help to clear your head a bit more!”
Your eyes go a little wider and you look at him. One stressful situation and now he’s trying to put you into another one? This guy…
“Do you trust me?” He murmurs as he takes one of your hands in his.
Do you trust him? Of course you do. He gives you a pout, his pleading sparkling eyes swaying you instantly.
“I…sure. Yes, I trust you, Kalim.” You stammer out. You take a breath and watch as he jumps up, pulling you up next. He grips your hand in his and drags you to the treasury where the carpet usually was, all while humming a tune happily
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Kalim gets on the carpet and holds out his hand to you. You take it and he helps hoist you up.
“All good?” He asks as he looks at you expectantly. You nod and you scoot more towards the middle of the carpet. Kalim sits up front closer to the edge, smiling wide.
He looks back at you, watching you as you hold onto whatever your hands can grip for dear life. “You can trust carpet. He’s good at this.” He giggles. And then—
You squeeze your eyes shut as the carpet descends into the starlit sky, going higher and higher, the wind picking up and ruffling your clothes and hair. “I’m gonna die, I’m gonna die,” is all you can think at the moment, and even opening your eyes just a sliver was a scary thought. But, you’re pulled from your thoughts quickly as you feel a pair of arms wrap around you, and you instinctively wrap your arms back around him.
“Don’t you dare close your eyes. Look! It’s pretty, believe me, perfect.” He laughs. You crack one eye open, then the other, and now? You can’t even blink.
The stars twinkle brightly, practically smiling down upon you two as the carpet glides seamlessly through the air. The moon’s celestial light gracing and bathing each of your features with a silvery glow. You slowly relax and loosen your grip from around him.
The desert below looks so small now compared to the large, jet black sky that sparkled.
“Woah…” is all you can manage to choke out.
“I know, right? Glad you trusted me, Y/N…” he smiles softly
“It’s like…a, a whole new world.” You whisper.
All of it was an ethereal sight, and, who knew how bucolic the sky could be up so close? You’d never take this for granted, that was for sure.
You turn your head back and smile widely at Kalim, the weight of what happened being lifted off your shoulders. His smile widens as well and he bounces up and down again.
“There! You smiled again! Good, good! Welcome back, prefect!” He exclaims, gesticulating just how happy he was with big gestures of his arms, which in turn, caused the carpet to move a bit, sending you to hold onto him again.
He laughs heartily and looks you in the eyes, his smile fading into a softer one.
“I’m sorry about earlier again. I know Grim dragged you there but, I never really thought you didn’t want to be there, I was just happy you were. Just me being stupid as usual, right?” He sighs, shaking his head.
“It’s not your fault. It’s mine, really, for not doing well in those settings—“
“Hey, don’t say that. It’s not your fault. It’s far from yours!” He scolds, though his voice lacks any bite to it.
“It’s just who you are. I’ll try and be better, I promise, be more considerate. I have been getting better! Jamil thinks so, but, it’s hard to tell with him.” He purses his lips, looking over at the moon.
“I’m like you, too, opposite, though. I’m nervous when I’m alone, instead.” He chuckles solemnly. He looks back at you.
“Ahhh…there I go again.” He grumbles. “Anyways, we should go back before Grim worries where you are.” He hums.
You don’t think Grim is the most bothered by any of this, I mean, the guy has got a whole table full of food, he’s definitely content. Tough, Jamil probably is the more worried considering how long Kalim has been out of his sight. Gotta feel bad for the guy.
Kalim shifts away from you and takes hold of the tassels on the carpet. He looks back at you again.
“Hold on!” He guffaws. You take that as a sign to scramble behind and wrap your arms around him.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The descent down was…scary…but you both were alive. Kalim walks happily with a pep in his step as you both make your way back to where the party was being held. You pause just outside the large double doors as Kalim goes to open them. He flashes you a small smile and heads in, leaving you alone.
A few minutes later an exasperated Jamil exists through the door, holding grim by the scruff.
“Take him and leave.” He sighs as he pushes Grim into your arms.
“And, if you leave somewhere with Kalim, for the love of the seven, please tell me first.” He huffs, face palming.
“Have a goodnight. Be safe.”He murmurs before going back to hold down the fort.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
As soon As you got back to Ramshackle, Grim was out like a light from having eaten too much. He curled up on the edge of the bed as usual, leaving you to get ready for bed yourself, silently slipping into your sleepwear.
You get into bed, the sweet lull of peaceful dreams pulling you to sleep.
Tap. Tap. Knock.
You flutter your eyes open and look over at your window anxiously, but it’s the furthest thing from anything scary. It’s Kalim. You get out of bed and flip up the locks on your window.
“What are you doing here?” You whisper. Kalim was seated on his carpet just outside your window.
“I wanted to check on you again. You’re better now, right?” He whispers back.
How sickeningly sweet of him.
“I’m doing better. Thank you. The carpet ride really helped to…calm me down.” Your eyes meet his. He places his hands on the windowsill and moves in closer.
“Good. Honestly, I don’t know why I came. I couldn’t go to sleep without knowing you were going to be ok just one last time. Weird isn’t it?” He sighs.
“Also, Jamil got mad at me.” He frowns. “If you got some backlash from him I’m sorry. Not intended!” He pouts. You chuckle and shake your head.
How cute.
“Jamil just told me to warn him next time. And, thanks for worrying about me…still. It’s sweet of you, but I’m ok now.” You smile. Your hand gently sitting atop his as an extra added bonus of reassurance. “You sure you came here just to check on me, though? You could have just messaged me, y’know?” You giggled.
He looks at you surprised for a moment but then chuckles, his cheeks dusted with a faint hint of pink as he glances away.
“Slipped my mind. You know me.” He chortles. He shakes his head and looks back at you.
“I’m glad you’re, ah, ok.” He sighs. “I guess goodnight then?” He purses his lips. “Goodnight, Kalim. And, no crowded parties for me.” You chuckle.
Kalim chuckles along with you and nods. There’s a comfortable silence between you two as you just gaze at each other.
Who knows what takes over, but you lean in and kiss his cheek gently. AHHHHH, OK, MAYBE YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE DONE THAT!! ABORT, ABORT!
You pull away, your cheeks redder than a tomato at this point.
“I- that…why did I do that? Kalim, I’m sorry that was—“ you stammer but then stop as you look back at Kalim who is as red as you. You feel the guilt start to build up.
“Now I know why.” He murmurs out, his eyes wide. You look at him confused, guilty, embarrassed, all of the above, expecting him to push you away but—
“It makes sense why my heart speeds up when around you now. I thought it was just because I finally found a good friend but…it runs deeper than that.” He whispers. His eyes soften as he looks at you.
“Look at me being stupid again! I would have planned a much nicer venue, or maybe have something cute prepared at least or just something to confess…” he pouts. He moves his hands and holds onto yours.
“I like you, perfect.” He states, proudly, too.
You’re baffled. Robbed of words. Lost. Was this happening? Hello, pinch me, if this is some sick messed up dream this is super unfair!
He squeezes your hands gently again, looking down at them intertwined, running his thumb over your knuckles. You clear your throat and hold his hands back.
“I like you, too.” You murmur out. Kalim looks back into your eyes and sighs. He giggles happily and moves your hand to his heart which is beating oh so rapidly.
“I like you. A lot. Too much. Ahhhhh, I’m happy.” He says all giddy. He laughs breathily and moves to hug you tight, burying his face in your neck.
“So…this means?” You murmur out as you hug him back. He simply nods. (Give him a few moments, it’s a lot to process.)
He pulled away, his eyes glossy. Was he seriously crying?
“I have to tell Jamil, this’ll be—“
“Ah…maybe not yet, Kalim.”
Idek what I was on when I wrote this…enjoy anyways, LOL. Anyhow…how many references did I make to Aladdin in this? Just a small trivia question if you feel like answering :D
Also we’re getting hit with a snowstorm so I have more time to write!!!

An Interesting Night

Yuu was always a smart one, finding out things before others. Not to mention the tendency to catch onto others' emotions quickly. They became good friends with Jamil, even helping him with Kalim more than once.
"Oh, imagine a land. It's a far away place,"
When Jamil came to the Dorms living room, he didn't expect his friend to be there. Much less singing and dancing under the moonlight.
"Come on down, stop on by, hop a carpet and fly, to another arabian night~"
It wasn't long before Yuu saw Jamil. They didn't stop their performance. However, instead, they continued as Jamil now sat on one of the ground pillows, watching in wonder.
"You were caught in a dance. You were lost in a trance, of another Arabian night~"
Jamil couldn't help but think for a second about the songs lyrics or its origin. Only to promptly be distracted as Yuu sang and danced.
"There's a road that may lead you to good or to greed through the power your wishing commands"
The two had smiles on their faces as they enjoyed the moonlight, giving enough light for Yuu to dance so freely whilst singing.
"Out there on the dunes~"
Despite the slightly ominous ending, Yuu was happy to hear Jamil clapping at the performance. After only 30 minutes it was already too late into the school night, and yet, Yuu and Jamil slept peacfully as if they'd been able to talk for hours with eachother before heading to their separate rooms.
The Serpent shall hold its treasure,
The Diamond in the Rough,
For all Eternity.

There's a knock on the door in the middle of the night, and when he opens it, the person standing there is exactly who he thought it would be. "Can-"
"Yeah, yeah. Just get in here."
"Thanks!" He flops onto the bed. "It's always easier to sleep in your room."
"Can't imagine why." He mutters.
"Because you're in it!"
"...go to sleep."

Do wszystkiego doszła metodą prób i błędów.
Wylądowała miękko i ruszyła w kierunku drzwi. Rzuciła na siebie zaklęcie. Ostrożność nigdy nie nikomu nie zaszkodziła. Zaczęła nerwowo przeszukiwać tkane dywany zdobiące pokój. Na środku stało wielkie, złote łoże z ogromnym czerwonym baldachimem. Zajrzała pod nie. To tam znalazła swoją zgubę.
— Emmm… Przepraszam?
No nie! To musiał być on.
Rodzinę, dach nad głową i ciepłe jedzenie każdego dnia.
Siad! — Kalim wstał i pomachał groźnie palcem.
— To latający dywan?
To mogło rozwiązać jej wszystkie problemy.
Bogaty i rozpieszczony dzieciak, którego właśnie okradała?
To zwykle oni padali ofiarą kradzieży.
Chłopak wziął głęboki wdech i otworzył drzwi.
Inaczej na pewno by spadła.
Przełknęła ślinę i niepewnie otworzyła najpierw jedno, a potem drugie oko.
Widok był przepiękny. Nad nimi królował sierp księżyca. Zostawili za sobą rezydencję rodu Asim. Miasto w dole błyszczało setkami świateł. Z góry widziała znajome, jasne budynki. Na targu tętniło nocne życie. Tancerze organizowali właśnie jakiś festiwal. Ubrani w tradycyjne stroje zabawiali turystów. Muzyka fletów i bębnów niosła się w powietrzu. Za murami zaś rozciągały się piaskowe pustkowia. Widziała oddaloną o kilka kilometrów oazę i drzewa palmowe. Parę karawan przemierzało ostatnie połacie drogi ze swoimi wielbłądami. Zapewne przybyli, by świętować albo sprzedać rzadkie towary.
— Mógłbyś mnie odstawić do domu?!
Żołądek podszedł jej do gardła. Z jednej strony było to ekscytujące, z drugiej zaś przerażające.
Wylądowali na jednym z sąsiednich dachów. [Reader] zeszła z dywanu, czując, jak jej nogi miękną. Kalim szybko złapał ją w pasie, ratując przed upadkiem.
— To się zdarza po pierwszym locie. — Wyszczerzył zęby w uśmiechu.
— Słuchaj, ja… — zaczęła dziewczyna, wpatrując się swoje stopy.
Jak miała mu to powiedzieć? Usprawiedliwiać się? A może lepiej nie? Powinna się zamknąć i po prostu odejść. Tylko że on był taki szczery... I teraz, gdy go poznała, zjadało ją poczucie winy. Dobroć wręcz się z niego wylewała. Nie zasługiwał na to, co mu zrobiła.
— Okradłam cię... — Wyciągnęła przed siebie torbę. — Przepraszam.
— Super.
— [Reader].
— W takim razie do zobaczenia, [Reader]. — Z tymi słowami zniknął w ciemnościach nocy.
***

HI for your mermay event can i request for prompts 5 and 13 (bioluminescence and sirens) for jamil in the form of a oneshot if that’s okay 🩷🩷
like a pirate yuu/reader who lowkey swears they keep seeing this one fish creature in the water on the ship they’re on but their crew mates are like “lmao what are you talking about get back to tying knots bestie” because sirens are a “myth” and stuff and reader is so sure that they aren’t tripping but they just don’t have any evidence. AND THEN SOMETHING HAPPENS
and turns out it’s just our boy jamil who’s very curious about the pretty human with the pretty voice
hope you have a great day queen !!
💌🐍🍛Request received! Thank you for your message, your delivery is ready~
Siren!Jamil Viper, ft. Bioluminescence & Siren
You could’ve sworn the ocean was staring back at you.
Ever since you arrived to the port of the Scalding Sands, you were convinced you saw a flash of red and black out of the corner of your eyes. It happened every single day, without fail, just as the sun began setting.
It seemed to follow you wherever you went, even by foot. Most of your business was within the port side bazaar, and even in the sunset light you were able to spot it. Your friends among the crew merely laughed it off, but you knew what you saw.
It all started when you docked at the Scalding Sands port. The Yasamina Silk festival was in full swing, and everyone else was out. You, however, decided to hang back for a bit to enjoy the fireworks overlooking the dock and enjoy the ship while you had it to yourself. Captain Rosehearts decided to leave you be, and the crew left for the festivities.
You could hear the music and laughter from the town bazaar. The happiness was infectious, and you found yourself humming along, occasionally singing the lyrics when you remembered them. You stopped when you saw the water ripple from below. You saw a flash of red light, before it disappeared again.
That was close, Jamil shook his fins out as he ducked below the ship. He’d gotten distracted again with your singing. The humans were having their festivals again, and usually he’d keep to the depths to avoid being spotted. Still, the siren side of him was drawn to your voice.
He’d just finished his duties tending to Kalim, and decided to relax by the human port area to view the fireworks. He dipped below the water, watching you and and a red-headed human in heels and a small crown talk to some Scalding Sands merchants.
There was no other way to say it - you were gorgeous. You were an intriguing little human, with the way your face lit up at the Scalding Sands beauty, the way the fireworks reflected in your eyes. He found himself hanging around later and later when he overheard you singing to yourself, sweeping the ship deck after a long day of socializing.
Jamil curled up beneath the dock at his usual spot, peering up at you through the gaps in the wood. He had a perfect view of you - leaning over the ship ledge, wind tousling your outfit as you grinned at the fireworks. You were much quieter than your strange human entourage. He liked that about you. You were peace in your crew’s chaos.
Speaking of chaos… He dove into the water when he heard your crew coming. You could also hear them stomping up the port - Ace and Deuce’s rabble, undoubtedly another little squabble, followed by Trey’s attempts to separate them, Cater trying to diffuse the situation, and finally Riddle yelling at them to knock it off. Your peaceful minute was up, but you found yourself smiling anyway.
A splash drew your attention. You looked at the dock near the ship, seeing a patch of red and black disappearing into the hazy orange of the sea. Your brow furrowed. There it was again. You moved to get a better look, balancing your torso on the ledge, straining to see.
“Guess it was nothing,” you muttered, deciding to leave it as is for now.
The next day, you kept an eye out for the streak. It seemed to only come at sunset, under the cover of scarlet when the ocean turned orange with the sky. It always darted away from your vision.
“You’re still looking for it?” Asked Deuce. You were absentmindedly fiddling with the knots you were tying, trying to catch a glimpse of it again. You were sure you’d catch it again. Whatever it was.
“Dude, you’re still looking for the mermaid lights?” Asked Ace, plopping down next to Deuce. “Pretty sure they’re just a myth, (Name).” You pursed your lips, shrugging. “Maybe.”
Later that day, you decided to take a walk. Trey stopped you, looking a tad worried. “You haven’t been seasick, right? Are you feeling well?” You nodded, “I’m fine, Trey. Is this about the mermaids?”
His silence said everything. You groaned, “I’m not crazy! I swear I really have been seeing something glow in the water!” Trey seemed unconvinced, but let you leave without too much protest. As the crew left, you made your way to the docks where you first saw the streak, and quietly sat down.
You surveyed the waters below for the red and black lights. You saw it out of the corner of your eye, and watched it slowly come closer, closer…
It circled below before disappearing under the dock where you sat. You grinned to yourself, bingo. You waited a moment. Then, swiftly, you bent your head under the dock. “Gotcha!”
Jamil yelped, eyes wide. He’d expected you to stay on the ship like usual, but it looks like he was found. He blinked as you stared him with an awe-filled smile. A real mermaid!
From his torso down, he had iridescent scarlet and black scales that ended in a spiny, large, webbed tail. A soft glow emanated from them. Where his ears would be, were soft red fins framed by long black braids adorned with scarlet feathers and rubies. Gorgeous gray eyes stared back at you warily.
You gasped. “You’re a mermaid! You’ve been following me!” “Siren, actually,” Jamil corrected, then tsk’ed at his mistake. You grinned giddily, “I knew you were real! Ace didn’t believe me! But I knew I saw you!” You tried to move closer to him, but suddenly pitched forward.
You tumbled into the water headfirst with a shriek, before being fished up by Jamil. He looked annoyed, but concern filled his eyes. “You should be more careful, human. You’re not used to the ocean.” When you squinted, you noticed lights along his ear fins that lit along his entire body. Your inner nerd squealed. Bioluminescent siren!
He pulled you up and sat you next to him, tail curling over your legs. You looked at him with a smile, before leaning your chin on his shoulder giddily, wanting to know more. “You’re a siren? Is it true that they sing?”
He tensed a bit, and you grinned. “You do, don’t you? I sometimes sing the songs from the festival.” Jamil, ever observant, brushed some stray seaweed from your head. “Yes, I noticed.” You overheard the musicians from the bazaar begin their song, and you found yourself humming along. Jamil shut his eyes, listening to you sing, finally not needing to strain to hear you. For the first time in a while, he felt less burdened. Free.
Slowly the sun set and darkness blossomed. Jamil’s scales began glowing a soft red in the dark. You’d finished your song, and soon Jamil began his own throaty tune, peace washing over you.
Sometime later, Jamil shifted, tailfins gently brushing you. “I should go soon,” he said softly, still pressed against you. Duty called, after all. You mumbled into his neck, “maybe stay a bit longer? Until the fireworks stop.”
He leaned his cheek against the top of your head, both of you washed in the colorful light of the fireworks dazzling above. “I’d like that.”
Thank you for your req anon!!! I like writing sneaky mers hehe, I’m glad I got to write this~

Hello! I've been reading your Jamil [L/N] Headcanons and I am in love with your stories. I would like to make a request just to make the Viper Family regret disrespecting Jamil & His Husband. 😈
Request: With some planning and the right moves, [Y/N] becomes rich - EXTREMELY RICH - and surprised his husband with the news. Somehow, Jamil's Parents hear about the news and go to the The [L/N] House Party for obvious reasons. I wanna see Jamil and his Husband shut them down: It's the [L/N] Wealth!
Sorry this oneshot is a bit all over the place, I had a coffee and now I feel SO sick and my hands won't stop shaking lolllll
mmmm not proof-read either T^T
°。°。°。°。°。°。
The good thing about not being born and raised in this world was that you could easily see the various loopholes and "cheats" in their economic system. And other things, such as their gambling games.
Since the people in Twisted Wonderland grew up with all of these things as a constant, they lacked the ability to see any flaws in their systems. However, you could see right through them. First was their currency. Thaumarks were relatively easy to reproduce if one could find a skilled enough mage- of course, you weren't going to stoop down to that level of counterfeit behavior. Second was their card games. While your own world's average card deck housed about 52 cards, Twisted Wonderland's average card deck held 14 to 25 cards (all depending on what sort of deck you were purchasing- region-wise, people added cards to the deck for aesthetic reasons). This lower amount of cards would normally mean that you'd have a better chance of winning, but their game's rules were...stranger than most.
The main game people gambled and bet over was called "Mage Hunt". In this game, a player (or however many were playing a game) would be dealt with seven cards- these cards all representing a "kingdom", with kings, queens, knights, and the like. It was the player's job to find the "mage" in the group (The mage being either a specifically-made card, or a pre-determined card from the dealer), but they could only receive four extra cards before guessing. And they couldn't look at anyone else's cards. No hints were given.
It was a confusing game, when you first started playing it with Jamil. But you quickly learned that the dealer would more often than not pick their mage from the deck out of instinct. You found that their "instinct" was to pick a mage from the card with the most symbolic imagery in it. Crows and ravens, an absurd amount of flowers, stuff like that.
It was for this reason that you began to play the game a lot more. Professionally, even. Every time Jamil left the house to go run errands or explore, you would sneak off to the local gambling area (sometimes it would be a tavern, sometimes an alleyway in town, under a bridge, anywhere was fair game for these people) and play "Mage Hunt" for money. And since you and Jamil were out traveling as part of a Honeymoon, it made it surprisingly easy to win as much money as you could, then skip town before the locals caught on to your proficiency with cards.
And when you and Jamil finally made it back home, after months of traveling, you surprised him with the news of your success! He was mostly amused that you found it necessary to sneak off and play card games while traveling, but he only shook his head and smiled as he suggested you bring out all of your earnings.
His eyes got wider when you brought bags upon bags into the living room and began counting it out.
It was well over thirty-three thousand thaumarks. All from playing card games. It wasn't a grand fortune, by any means, but it was enough to make Jamil pass out briefly. And once you went to some higher-level Casinos (the real deal!) to bet all that you had earned before, you and Jamil went back home with twenty times that amount!
Now you were a wealthy couple- wealthy enough to live heartily and uneasy for the rest of the foreseeable future, without worrying about jobs and other stupid things. Hell yeah.
How the Viper family caught wind of your newfound riches was anybody's guess. Although the blame could...most likely lay with Kalim, who was absolutely over the moon about your card game knowledge (having lost most of his monthly allowance over playing it with you). That poor boy couldn't possibly keep his mouth shut around his family, and since the Viper family worked for his family...well...
In the end, you and Jamil walked into your home after running out to grab groceries, and who else was sitting in the living room but one Mister and Missus Viper?
Jamil tensed up as soon as he saw his parents, but he tried not to let his discomfort show as he squeezed your hand lightly and let go, setting down the paper bags in one of his arms on the kitchen's counter before returning.
"Mother, father," He said casually "I believe my rules were clear, and you followed them...let's see, not at all. So therefore, you're trespassing."
You hurriedly went to stand by his side, wrapping an arm around your husband's waist.
His father wasted no time in getting to the point, ignoring his son's words "We've come to realize that you're hiding wealth from your family, Jamil. But, of course, we wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that perhaps you just haven't found the time to give us our due," he held his hands up in a submissive gesture, although his eyes were almost predatory in nature "So we came to save you the time and effort."
"What are you on about?" Jamil laughed callously "Your due?"
"Jamil, you know good and well that that kind of money can get our family out of servitude-" Jamil's mother started.
He shot her down immediately, twisted out of your loving grip and taking a loud step towards her, the floor vibrating with the force of the movement "Excuse me, I thought serving the Asim family was your pleasure? And now, after all of this fuss-and-nonsense you gave me after marrying YN and choosing to raise our future family freely, away from serving a rich family, you come crawling back to us the moment you hear about money that my husband has earned?"
"You're being a selfish-" the dad started
"NO, YOU'RE BEING SELFISH!" Jamil shouted, making you flinch "GET OUT OF OUR HOUSE- This is not the Viper wealth, it's the LN wealth!"
"I think it's best you leave," you tried to speak motioning for the parents to exit the house. Best to leave now, before Jamil got himself in trouble for murdering his mother and father...
"This is a family matter, fuck off!" Jamil's mother snapped at you, the first time you've been directly addressed by his parents since, well, the wedding, almost.
The room went quiet, devoid of talking. The only sound was Jamil's heavy breathing as he tried to keep himself from flinging himself onto his mother right then and there. He closed the distance between him and his parents, his footsteps eerily silent
"Snake charmer," He whispered, his eyes flashing a brief glint of red. Having not seen Jamil use his signature spell since college, you took a step towards him, putting a hand on his shoulder to remind him of your presence. While he didn't say anything to you nor take his focus off his parents, you could feel his shoulders loosen up.
"Listen to me now," Jamil hissed "You are going to leave our house immediately and forget where it is. You will never interfere with mine nor my husband's lives ever again- and you will not ever, ever speak to me nor him, over the phone or otherwise."
That was the last time you saw the Viper parents. They stood up immediately, as per their son's instructions, and with a glazed look in their eyes, trudged to the door and opened it, disappearing into the outside world.
