Today I made a snack referred to as "cheese chips." I lived briefly in Jamaica when my mother was deployed. As an aspiring pixel artist I wanted to recreate Jamaican snacks. I want to use Jamaican snacks in a future project so I tried.

I don't know why I fretted over making this, it didn't take that long to complete, once I internalized the shape & colors, it was done. Does this mean I've gotten better? The images are 32 bit art I converted one of them to 64.

I'm really proud of how they turned out, I was satisfied with them in its beginning stage but after asking someone they said it didn't look like a bag of chips, granted they didn't know much about pixel art or what I was going for but I at least wanted it to be obvious it was a bag of chips. So I tried to add more detail. I like the version that doesn't have an outline (The fourth pic).

fruit review #42: passion fruit (3 varieties!)

These are 3 lilikoi (passionfruit) varieties i’ve found out walking around. Yellow, jamaican lilikoi/water lemon, and a mystery variety.

Yellow lilikoi are bigger, more sour, with more juice and a strong vitamin C flavor. They are a great snack but i wouldn’t recommend them on an empty stomach because they are super acidic. The jamaican lilikoi is completely different, the skin is soft and spongy instead of hard, and the flavor is completely sweet. It is way more floral and watery than other varieties. sadly its also a lot smaller, if these were bigger i’d go crazy on them, they are so cool and velvety compared to others. The last one (i think) is a crossbreed between the yellow and purple? it is pink and i’ve never seen a pink lilikoi before lol. the flavor is sweeter than the yellow, but not to the extent a purple would be.

I love lilikoi sm I think they are an under appreciated fruit. pog is one of the best fruit juices and the jam rocks. also lilikoi is the best flavor for cheesecake and mochi toppings imo

The hero of fate

A child of beast and cookie, in the shadow of her mother she tries her best to right the wrongs she's grown up with. Her loom,her hands, and the red twine that brings cookies together work to fix and reveal that of true love. she promises to bring real love back to the kingdom and not the sounds of obsession that invades the ears of others and coils around them like a poisonous snake.

Id like to welcome at-least two of my cookie run kingdom OC's

My beast cookie- whipped butter cookie/calypso cookie

My ancient hero cookie- mixed chocolate cream cookie

The idea of whipped is based off of Calypso and Scylla from epic the musical/homers Odyssey with the idea of that instead of being trapped in the silver tree with the other beast she was placed/trapped by the witches to stay on a island never to be rescued or found purposely by others.

Every cookie that ends up on her island are shipwreck survivors or people lost at sea, very rarely if not at all does anyone make it off the island cause of the witches spell and whips magic too. Her trumpet is basically mind control and a love spell in one causing anyone to hear it to fall madly in love with the one who plays it. She plays her trumpet constantly to keep the spell from fading and in her twisted mind her losing her loved ones.

The Scylla position of her is her physical looks, she has six snakes that are connected to her each one is alive but their minds are like a hive mind, connected and act out the main brains commands. All though each snake is poisonous with different levels of poison. The lower 3 the ones closer to her body are more so used to threaten or put someone their place there poison is weaker, the top 3 the ones close to her sould jam/gem are the ones that kill the ones she considers "heartbreaker's".

With mixed chocolate she is actually more of a self insert then OC cause she's based off of me by my race cause I am mixed ( white American and black/mixed Jamaican) so she is a mixed white and dark chocolate frosting cookie. The only thing I changed was she is also based of of Penelope and circe from epic/the Odyssey.

Penelope from her weaving and her desire/ her waiting for real love not the obsession she has seen her whole life.

While circe due to her magic abilities with the red string and her deep care and protectiveness of the cookies she loves and care for. ( The cake hound she has used to be a cookie she considers her best friend, she turned them into a hound so that way her mother could never use her trumpet on them)

Both these characters are blood related as mixed is whipped full blood daughter. Mixed is immune to her mother spell due to being her daughter, the only reason why she doesn't stop her mother is because she does feel real love for her mom.

A cookie( either a milk or mixed chocolate based cookie) from dark cacaos kingdom had gotten lost at sea due to him traveling for a business position in a neighboring kingdom. Sadly like many cookies that end up on whipped island she keeps him there and even forces him to marry her, eventually bringing mixed into the world. Mixed father is still alive but he's kept trapped in the main palace of the island, constantly under whips spell to the point where he's a obsessive lovesick shell of the cookie he used to be.

Both of her parents don't truly love her , since her dad is always under a spell, and her mother is well a love obsessed beast. The only reason she knows that what she grew up with isn't real love is from visions given to her from a ✨higher power ✨ that show her what love is and she tries to learn from the people who end up on their island before they hear her mothers spell.

Anyways this is what I have so far for the two of them! I bring out more as I go!!!

Quinn likes mashed potatoes and peanut butter; not (necessarily) together. Considering he almost exclusively ate soft food after his throat surgery, it's a miracle he even likes them still...but he's a man of simple tastes

Vincent used to enjoy a good roast beef back in his human days. It's still something he can indulge in every once in a while (extra rare ofc, worth the tummy ache) He's also fond of a Jamaican rice his mother used to make 🥺

🍰 SHORTCAKE — what is/are your oc's favorite sweet(s)/dessert(s)?

Quinn doesn't often have a sweet tooth, but he'll snack on jaffa cakes every now and then.

Vincent was a fan of more decadent trifles in his youth, especially ones with fresh raspberries and peaches. Now, he likes cherry (blood) cordials

Quinn--pistachio

Vincent--black raspberry

🍛 CURRY AND RICE — what does your oc's typical dinner look like? do they usually eat dinner?

Quinn--something standard, take-out or a frozen meal; meat and some vegetables, usually. He's not fussy, but his meals usually need to be prepared for him, or else he's likely to forget to eat 😩

Vincent just has his nightly serving of blood :'D He has half in the morning, and half for 'dinner', but he'll sometimes switch them up (some of the bags are human/animal blood mix, which are unequivocally worse tasting, so if he wants to treat himself, he'll savor the full human blood one)

🍸 COCKTAIL GLASS — what is your oc's favorite alcoholic drink, if they can drink?

Quinn likes a G&T; he'll prefer gin in any kind of mixed drink, and doesn't usually go for hard brown stuff like whiskey. Beer works too, he's not too picky

Vincent enjoys his reds, especially now that certain wineries have started crafting blood specialty blends~ He can mix some creative cocktails every now and then, but he feels wine is always the most elegant complement to blood

☕️ HOT BEVERAGE — does your oc prefer coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, water, or some other drink? how do they like to take this drink (ex. coffee with milk, hot chocolate with whipped cream, a specific kind of tea, etc)?

Both are tea boys 🇬🇧💥 Quinn likes his with a splash of milk, no sugar, and a lemon slice. Vincent also used to enjoy tea, and now he sort of emulates it with his blood, but it ain't quite the same :'D

Just because someone is depressed doesn’t mean they don’t want help some people just don’t know how or where to look. The road to recovery starts small, even if that first step is a grocery list.

Miles happily smiles as he received a bouquet of Sunflowers, stuffed patched up teddy bear with markers drawn on it, and Jamaican take out for his lunch. The 18 year old saw his two friends looking at the gifts, while they decided to eat outside of the cafeteria. A nice change in location, to enjoy the view of Miguel's world.

Gwen: What's all of this? -one hand on her hip, she placed her tray of Mexican take out down on the table-

Pav nodded having his Chinese take out for lunch, he's so hungry he shove noodles into his mouth then spoke: Yeah?

Miles playfully said: They're gifts! -he sniff the bouquet of flowers loving the scent- They smell so fresh!🥰

Gwen: Let me guess, Hobie?

Hobie appears with his arms wrapping behind Mies' shoulder: Gift? What gift? -He kisses Miles' cheek- Aye, luv. Love your gifts?

Miles smiles widely showing off his teeth: Yes, bae! The bear is so cute! -He gave many kisses on his boyfriend's cheeks, and his hand caressing Hobie's arms- I love'em! 😘

Hobie smiles widely: I'm glad. You know, you don't have to give me nothing, dear.

Miles pouts: But I should. You're my man!

Hobie's face flustered: That's enough for me. 🥰

Pav giggles: Awwwweeeee.

Gwen: What if Miles' want to give you something to show that he loves you as much as you do.

Hobie: Oh he can never love me as much as I love him. -He sits besides his boyfriend, then lowly said- I would conquer the world for him!

Miles hearts flutter: Awe, I know you would! -he hugs his boyfriend with his arms around Hobie's neck- And you would make me a God?

Pav: Yeah! Wouldn't that go against what you believe in, Hobs?

Hobie chuckles lowly almost a bit amusing: Heh, funny, ain't it. It will be different because it will be my Sunflower! And everyone would get to worship my darling! -He playfully tap his boyfriend's nose- He's too precious!😌

Miles snuggles against: Love you, baby! 🥰😍

Hobie: Love you, darling. 😘 Oh I almost forgot -he handed Miles' his favorite soda, OK Kola Champagne- I forgot to give you this!

Miles gladly took his drink with his eyes widen: No way, bae! How did you get this? The Cafeteria doesn't sell this! 😲 -He grew up with this soda, one of his favorites. His mom would buy them in glass bottles and they would always drink together as a way of bonding. He opens the can hearing a small hiss then sips- Mmm, so good!

Gwen looks at Hobie, who's already pink: Man, you gotta stop spoiling him!

Pav chuckles: Damn, I'm not even like that with Gayatri... maybe I should be 🤔

Miles giggles having to share his lunch with his boyfriend, he offers him to try the soda: Here, have a sip. -he watches Hobie taking a sip then shrugs- Too sweet?

Hobie: You know me, luv. I rather drink ale than a Pop... -He use to drink a lot of beer before meeting Miles. Now, he rarely drinks it.- But this isn't bad.

Miles wraps his arms around Hobie's left arm, his head snuggling against him. Hobie's body turns red with magazine words of love and hearts: Well, I still need you to try Pegao and other Puerto Rican snacks.

Gwen only eats as she listen to the couple then asked: What's Peg-Ow?

Pav burst out laughing: Gwen, what?

Miles: Pegao? It''s crispy rice. It's so good. Dominicans call it Concón.

Hobie said with a smile on his face: I'll try anything for you, Sunflower.

Miles: I know, you will, baby! Mwah! -he kisses Hobie's lips-

Gwen: Oh brother, here they go again. -The lovey dovey sometimes be too much for her-

Pav: They are here for the long run!

I was wondering if you could do an African reader (maybe Jamaican) who is very hippie, is vegetarian, maybe does psychedelics or marijuana (but if you don’t want to include that, you don’t have to, for I do respect your requirements and your writing). They can also listen to reggae and artists like The Who, The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, etc. They can also have dreadlocks as well. Is Le Comte an easy character for you? If not, that is completely fine! Again, I sincerely apologize if this is too much! You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to.😅����

First of all, I’m sorry it took so long! It was very difficult for me, HSIUEHUASIHEA. But I wanted to try to get out of my comfort zone. It’s in HC format, because it was easier. I’m sorry if it’s not for your liking, but I tried! 🥹

I couldn’t use all the characteristics, because they were really specific, HAIUEHAISUHEAS. And I didn’t want to write something stereotypical with the characteristics I’m not familiar with, so what I used: hippie (I hope I went to the right path with this), vegetarian and uses marijuana (let’s all thanks my husband for providing me what are the effects in an almost daily basis, HASIUEHAS), with Comte.

However, he has an open mind and is willing to learn more when you tell him it’s not what he thinks. He'll be okay with it after you explain everything you’ve learned about it—how you use it for leisure, but in the future, it could have medical uses. I don’t think he’d try it, though; this is a moment you can share with Leonardo.

You try not to disturb him or anyone else though. You’re usually in your room or outside while smoking. He only knows you did it when sees you with a smile in your face and a lot of snacks in your hands.

You know how you wake up on the first night with a nightmare? Yeah, you were so drowsy that you didn’t even get up, so no one attacked you :D 

You might have some trouble finding weed when you arrive, as it's illegal and not well seen. However, you manage to make some friends downtown, so you can buy it more easily now.

You tell him you’ll sleep on the couch on your first night. Comte practically drags you to the bedroom, insisting so much that you should sleep there. It's too fancy for your liking, and you might need to change some things.

He offers to pay for everything you need to redecorate. You scold him fiercely. Didn’t he think about the consequences of spending all his money on futile things? He didn’t. I mean, look at this mansion! Does he look like someone who cares about money and what it can cause?

Cue you starting your TED Talk about capitalism and sustainability. You still try to make him stop burning his money with you or futile things. He’s trying very hard not to buy you a new purse he saw downtown… It’s a work in progress.

You probably won’t even step a foot into a ballroom. Instead, you're outside with the rest of the townspeople, protesting about the nobles' lifestyle and how it’s the rotten core of the system. The whole protest was your idea.

He finds your lifestyle amusing. He always had anything he wanted without any effort, so he’ll try doing things your way. You start a garden in the backyard, saying you like having your seasonings and herbs in hand. “Oh, that’s nice! Sebastian will appreciate it!” He might even try to help you. Wait, that’s not— “Chérie, that’s not basil, is it?” It wasn’t.

The first night when he offered you dinner, you politely refused and said you didn’t eat meat. (Cue Mozart gasping). “Oh…” And then he didn’t know how to explain to you that they were all vampires… He has to do it though, and he’s relieved that you’re not as uncomfortable as he thought you would. 

He’s probably the one who understands you better, being a vegetarian. I mean, he never directly drinks blood from a human, so it’s a start… right? … Right? You tell him it’s not the same, but it’s fine. You appreciate him not biting you or others (not without their contract with him, at least). He makes an effort to drink only blanc or eat human food when you’re around, not to make you uncomfortable — even though you’re okay with it. “Comte, I don’t eat meat, it doesn’t mean that you won’t eat it too.”

He has a refined taste, but I don’t think he’s a picky eater. He will try anything you like to eat, from plant-based alternatives to tofu.

I’m not encouraging anyone to use weed! BUT be responsible if you want to try it, okay? Some studies suggest using it only when you’re 25 or older. And even though it’s legal in some countries, remember that it’s still smoke being blown into your lungs.
