I miss playing cowboys and trains with my friend on RDO :((
#rdo#we played almost every week for about 4 years (started during the first pandemic lockdowns)#and then a few months ago he got busy with having a relationship and junk and now it's been over two months since we've played 😭#i have so few touchstones with people and I hadn't realized how integral that one had become to my life until it stopped happening#i miss my friend i miss our horsey cowboy times#i miss running around the map until we found a train and then hopping on that and enjoying the scenery#occasionally lassoing npcs and dragging them along behind said train#life of faye#i dunno man I'm just extra lonely#but i don't want to make that his problem#for weeks and weeks i would ask if he had time to play any time soon and he kept having other things going on#so i got embarrassed about asking because it feels so obvious that I'm just pathetic and don't have a life#and i don't want to just be an obligation if someone doesn't have the time or inclination to do friend stuff with me any more

I'll probably just let the story unfold trough the illustrations etc#cause idk if anyone's interested in the story stuff. i'm happy to answer if anyone asks stuff though#but the short version is that they grew up in the same town but didn't really get to know each other until later#Marten has a bad accident that leaves him bedridden for over a year while his father hides his condition out of shame#so Nohren takes a job as a hand at their ranch and figures out which room they're keeping Marten locked in#they become good friends and Nohren visits him in secret for almost two years while helping Marten regain some mobility#they take up the outlaw life after Nohren is seen with another man in town and decides he's better off getting out of dodge#Marten is torn about leaving the ranch behind but he comes along eventually#that's the very basic gist of it#they good kiddos#Marten#Nohren#Outlaws AU

I'm so fucking heartbroken over all these plans I haven't felt good enough to participate in... It's not fair. It's not fucking fair...
#i have missed so much this summer and i miss my friends immensely#next weekend we have ren faire though and im not missing that#i just hope to god i feel okay...#but im ESPECIALLY heartbroken over the fact that i couldn't make plans to go meet Roger Clark and Rob Wiethoff...#my mom told me if i could pay for most of it she would go with me but... i felt too sick to even attempt a goddamn thing#like im actually crying because i just wanted to go meet these cowboys and we had a plan#but whatever the fuck is going on with me got in my way#i was so excited for so long that I'd get to meet them and gush about rdr2#my mom and i made this plan like two months ago now#i wanted to make it work so bad...#hopefully i can meet them another time when i can actually function#im just bummed because rdr2 has been what's keeping me sane all year...#i started playing in February and ive put in almost 900 hours. im so close to 100%ing it#i wanted to go meet Arthur and John's VAs so bad dude#anyway#dont mind me#i should've learned to stop making plans by now...#i probably would have died trying to go to a con anyway but i would have pushed myself for that.

#rdr2#red dead#arthur morgan#pardner playlists#pardner posts#this is another one of those playlists that i finished ages ago but neglected to post until now#i got the tracklist done in ... may of 2022? wow. anyways. its been sitting in my drafts for so long bc i wanted to redo the cover art#and im sooooo glad i waited bc this graphic design is infinitely better than the one i had initially#the deer is a screencap from one of arthur's dream cutscenes that i heavily edited in photoshop#wanted to get the tactile feel of the rdr2 loading screens + ui design.#wasnt sure if i was going for the aesthetic of photo negatives or paintings or linoprint etc etc until i stumbled into whatever this is#anyways. musically.. i wanted to attempt an arthur playlist that fits with the rdr2 ost. hence the blues and roots#it opens up with some rock-adjacent songs that have powerful guitar chords (kinda like how rdr2 starts as the rootin tootin cowboy game)#but as the playlist progresses the music becomes more acoustic and somber#kinda like how (high honor) arthur changes over the course of the game#and i think i got some awfully fitting lyric alongside the gradual tone shift so >:)#enjoy!#tbh i was just TIRED of seeing so much t@ylor sw!ft and m0ther m0ther when i searched arthur on spotify#🤠#rdr2 spoilers
