Field of Stars, (The Saga of Fred and Erik)

Apologies in advance for this truly self indulgent post lol.

I based this on JJ Lendl's Data concept art for the limited edition cover of IDW Star Trek comic 21.

My version is for a Fred/DISCO/ST Picard fanfiction I'm writing called "Field of Stars". Like the original, the images tell a story.

First, I pose that this stained glass panel was created in honour of Fred and made from limited amounts of coloured glass which is a precious commodity on Q'mau his home planet. So, the rarer colours have been used on the story tiles and the background is composed of more plentiful shades.

While not a 'god' (as the original comic artwork suggests), Fred nonetheless is revered as an important person on his homeworld. The three round tiles feature elements of his story - he has a connection to Lt Commander Data (depicted prior to his death on the Scimitar), and meets his own fate over a tan zhrekan (Romulan puzzle box). The crew of Starfleet ship Discovery recover his body, theorise his origins and help to find his twin, Erik, who also features prominently in the story. However I can't reveal if Fred is revived as that could be a spoiler for the fic.

I'm really grateful to all those who read the prequel fic "Fred Just Fred" on AO3 recently, so I hope you enjoy this...
