hello! I am new to the supernatural fandom thus the whole Danneel controversy, I’ve read a lot of blogs talking about danneel and Jensen…situation… and honestly I believe it. How do you think she is with the children? Do you think they’re aware of everything going on? I’m only asking because I’m curious and not many people bring up how this whole things involved the children as well so what are your opinions on that aspect of things?

So.

Phew.

I try not to touch the children for the most part, but you bring up a point many are avoiding.

How would children react to seeing their parents behave like this? Not well, to be honest.

Let's take the Ackles out of the equation.

Two parents, fighting, one being constantly belittled, demeaned, oppressed, insulted. How would the children do? Not well. They'd shrink, cringe, hide, maybe try to defuse the situation, maybe even act out to hopefully stop the parents from fighting and work together--even if it's against them.

In Psychology Today, it notes that a narcissistic parent (which we've more or less 'diagnosed' Danneel as) would be harmful. They'd be self-centered and selfish, limited in caretaking and unresponsive as a parent, limited in being patient, be unable to love the child as they are, lack empathy....

The list goes on. In another article, I saw this:

Do I think there's physical abuse? No.

But emotional? Negative? Yes.

I'm reminded vividly of a comment I made to someone a while back about how I noticed JJ keeps having different hair color. Green, blonde, a kind of purple-maroon. Then there's Arrow with the fake nails.

Then there's Jensen's story about how JJ, after Jensen and Danneel fought after Jensen took the kids to get ice cream, came up to him with the bracelet saying "Best Dad".

Children in this environment do *not* do well. I admit I'm concerned about all three--though it seems Arrow's the sharpest of the three. She actually stated in a video once that her parents "were crazy". The kid knows. She's also seen how Jensen doesn't handle Danneel--which is probably why she's flippant about his so-called dad voice. In a face-off of wills, I think Arrow'd win and Jensen knows it.

As for JJ... now, there's not much with her--some photos, convention stories (I'm *still* concerned about Jensen's statement that she can't function without him--is she unable to handle her mother without him there? The questions abound!)--but it's clear she adores Jensen. And looks to be about *done* with her mother, if that photo from Wales Comic Con any indication.

However, JFW has admitted to reading Tumblr before, so she could certainly have multiple accounts.

I believe someone in the vast cool gang brought up the same theory.

Now, if that were true, why wouldn't she try to defend herself better? After all, she has firsthand arguments and stories to back her up.

I'll guess it's because she enjoys the little wars too much, and part of her knows it would give us material for days. Not sure she'd like us to dissect her answers and expose the ugly truth.

So a new video of Jensen singing. People said he sings it for Danneel. What do you think? What a fucking joke.

Yeah, I saw those comments. Sigh. I honestly doubt it. I think he chose it because it's a low key, easy acoustic song. Something to pass the time. Might be he did that to entertain his fellow cast members while waiting for scene shift or the like.

But for Danneel? No. His song of choice for her would be Whipping Post, which he's sung several times in past conventions, with a great deal of feeling that he usually doesn't put in other songs.

After all, we all know Danneel isn't supportive. That he's constantly trying to "impress" and after nearly 20 years together, if your partner still isn't "impressed" with you, there's bigger problems and zero happiness.

It might be he sang and posted it to try and detract from the anger being sent to Danneel after her bullshit with his shirt. I doubt it though.

Soulbonding is not just Spiritual/Metaphysical.

Disclaimer: I want to preface this by saying that I am not trying to deny anyone's experiences or invalidate different interpretations. I fully accept, support, and believe individuals about their soulbonding, whatever it may be. The following is more about the revisionism I've seen around what soulbonding is, what it originally meant, and how it's been used in the community since then.

For some years now, this post has been simmering inside of me, and I think it's finally time to let it loose. I've noticed that every time I go looking for resources and community around soulbonding on Tumblr, Discord, etc., there has been a heavy emphasis on soulbonding being a spiritual/metaphysical experience, which is not entirely the full picture. The fact is, there are multiple ways to approach soulbonding, and one such perspective is that of thoughtforms. Thoughtforms are psychological constructs that become real, autonomous, living entities through the power of creative imagination, conscious or subconscious intent, and the thoughts, feelings, and knowledge of the host. This type of soulbonding is the kind Mel and I practice, yet it is often overlooked and overshadowed within the modern remnants of the soulbonding community.

The exclusive focus on soulbonding as a spiritual phenomenon is not only revisionist of its original history, but it also may be excluding people who are already soulbonders (in a thoughtform way) and just don't know it or who would jump at the chance to love, connect with, and understand a character until they are alive. If we bring back the broadened definition of soulbonding that includes all experiences and perspectives, we have the potential to help the soulbonding community survive and thrive with a new crowd of selfshippers, creatives, immersive daydreamers, neurodivergents, and more!

The concept of soulbonding, though coined by Amanda Flowers in the Just for Writers mailing list, is a phenomenon which has long existed for writers and lovers of fiction: that fictional characters—when created, written about, and understood until the level of affinity—will often take on a mind of their own, "coming to life" inside the individual's head, and start interacting with them in a more direct capacity.

One study from the early 2000s referred to it as "The Illusion of Independent Agency" According to the study, 92% of the 219 participants reported that their fictional characters displayed varying levels of independence or autonomy in the author's mind, often without the conscious effort of the author. Another study conducted in 2014 surveyed 1,500 readers of fiction, with 19% of them mentioning experiencing the voices and personalities of characters staying in their minds long after finishing their stories. A quick search on the topic of "characters coming to life" shows writers and roleplayers, both of fanfiction and original fiction, sharing their experiences of characters seemingly telling their own stories or becoming "real" in their minds. Renowned authors such as Phillip Pullman, Cornelia Funke, the TERF who shall not be named, and so many more have also discussed their characters speaking to them or taking on a mind of their own as they write about them.

Now, I'm uncertain where interpreting soulbonding as a primarily spiritual phenomenon came from. I did find a few people initially involved in the JFW mailing list who were aware of and supported both spiritual and psychological theories. (It is worth noting, however, there were some regrets over calling it "soulbonding", for it implied a purely spiritual connotation when it was never meant to be strictly that.) Based on my research, I believe the main source of this misunderstanding of being a primarily metaphysical phenomenon is the description given by fictionkin.org, fromfiction, and the soulbonder Tumblr blog (all run by the same individual presenting themself as a pillar in the community) who seemed adamant on redefining soulbonding to mean being a channeller or medium of external entities.

Regardless of when spiritual soulbonding first got introduced, we psychological soulbonders have always been a part of this community from the beginning (arguably, we were the beginning), and we deserve to have our perspectives and ties to this community, this framework, this terminology, respected as much as any other kind of soulbonder. Please, if you discuss soulbonding, keep in mind the origins of this concept and strive to be inclusive of all interpretations and explanations. Clarify where you can that what you are writing is just your personal experience/interpretation, one of the many within this unique phenomenon.

To any spiritual soulbonders out there, I want to assure you that your experiences are real and valid, just as viewing them as thoughtforms is real and valid. If that idea—of "soulbond" meaning both spiritual/metaphysical and thoughtform—distresses you, it may be worth considering whether a different label with a more narrow definition that aligns with your interpretation might be a better fit. Whether a soulbond is a fictional character "come to life" or "an external entity traveling across the universe like spirits", what truly defines their realness and validity is the impact they have on our lives, how much they care for us, and how deeply we feel for them, not their point of origin.

We often hear "a shark"--which in business terms is actually a bad thing, by the way. Or "hard worker"--which we all know is a lie. She says a lot, does a few ridiculous poses in photos for Instagram, but sure, sure, she's a "hard worker". 🙄

Protective of her? Not that I've seen.

"Suit each other"? Based on.... what? Her constantly putting him down to the point that every time he's around her, he ages 20 years, is constantly looking like he'd jump out a window, and doesn't respond to her?

His rock, his strength, his home. Um....

Why wasn't she there for the Rust tragedy? Why was she trying to destroy his reputation at Wales by implying that she auditioned like hell, said she "knew Jensen", and still didn't get a role? She knew what that sounded like--that he deliberately left her to rot instead of getting her into Supernatural! That was largely talked about while it was happening!

His strength? Doing what? Taking care of house and home? Uhm... when he said she wouldn't get the windows fixed until he got home because the dog wrecked them? By making them uproot and move every few years because she "has to reset the energy" (translation: people around them got tired of Danneel's bullshit and so they have to move so she wouldn't be rightfully ostracized)? By making their home life so unstable the kids can't form long-term friendships? By robbing them of even more stability for her own selfishness?

If you see that as "strength", his "rock", his "home", I question if they know what a healthy relationship looks like.

I've shared this elsewhere, but I'll say it again:

A healthy relationship is built where someone pulls the other up! Publicly, privately--not where having a compliment and praise from Mark Sheppard led to Jensen looking like he was unable to react, so deeply touched. A healthy relationship is praising your partner, not making them seem like a bad father, a bad husband, in a freakin' house tour! A healthy relationship isn't being jealous, putting your partner down!

For example:

Danneel was so mean, putting Jensen down and making fun of him! Why would she do that? Is she so insecure that her husband casually glancing at Hooters and the workers had her insulting him like hell? She couldn't smile, shake her head, and just let it go? I mean, she was his wife!

Spare me, vjpers--spare me, AAs. They're a bad match; Danneel is unworthy of any damned support and defense.

Why is feistiness something to be proud of? Anyone can be bitchy and snarky. It’s more rare and impressive to be genuinely nice and kind hearted.
