A LOT of media I've watched has girl characters who have an arc that's like
>she was a cool tom boy who wore boys clothes and used Boku instead of Watashi, but then she realized she actually loves girly stuff and makeup and switches back to the girls uniform
and imo I think these scenes are in bad faith. Like we can interpret these characters as trans and that's great, but the original authors weren't writing good trans stories; they were writing weird uncomfortable propaganda to try and make young girls more feminine.
Like I've never seen this arc in reverse, I've never seen the same arc on a boy character, it's literally just thinly veiled misogyny and I'm really sick of it.
#ramblings#this shit is about cure sunshine#and its about naoto from persona#and i saw a clip about sara from PriChan doing the same thing#and theres ito from PRRL whos randomly into makeup like wtf thats in Total contrast to everything else about her#idk sorry

A Kaneko Clan Christmas Special
A short and sweet one-shot I did for the holiday season. Set just before Ken starts his detective career. He's getting gifts for his boyfriend, friends, and the kids at Taichi's division :)
For more context, go here: https://kanekoclan.carrd.co/
Now, here we go
December 23rd
December 23rd, the day before Christmas Eve. Ken’s surprisingly too bothered by the freezing cold despite forgetting to wear any winter clothing aside from his new blue detective outfit, having gotten used to being outside during the Winter years ago when he was homeless. He’s impressed his body is still conditioned like that, probably because he had to deal with being a street rat for eight years.
Right now he’s doing some Christmas shopping for Naoki, Kagami, and the kids under Taichi’s care, Kaito, Minato, Haruto, Natsuki, and James. Ken was thinking of getting a gift for Taichi, but he’s still off the radar. Ken’s thinking he should’ve done it way earlier if it weren’t for the fact Naoki would probably get way too curious if he tried to hide away a gift for a period of time. Ken has been saving up from his honest job from the cleaning service he does with Naoki, as heists have been slow recently. His budget is 100,000 yen, which he thinks is enough for the day.
Shibuya is absolutely packed, with people rushing to get their own shopping done. Ken’s being pushed around a lot by shoppers who seem to be not even noticing him, which his short height doesn’t help. Ken takes a look at the list he wrote down, which consists of ‘something shiny and/or pretty’ for Naoki given his fascination with shiny things and his love for him. For Kagami, he’s looking for a new game for him, and while he’s not sure what specific game, Ken will take a shot in the dark regardless. And for the kids, probably And finally, for the kids, Ken is aiming for sweets for them. Pretty simple, but it’ll work as he’ll be catering to all five of them.
Bzzzz. Bzzzz. Bzzzz.
Oh, it seems like someone is calling. Ken goes to get his phone while still being overwhelmed by the crowd, and then sees the caller is Naoya. Ken answers.
“Hello?” says Ken
“Hey Ken. I’ve noticed you left your winter clothing in your apartment. Are you gonna be ok?” Naoya says.
“Ah, don’t worry. I’ll be fine. I’ve… I’ve been through worse.” Ken replies.
“Ken, I’m serious. I don’t want you to get Hypothermia”. Naoya says. There’s a deep worry in his voice. Ken can understand the concern, but Ken is insistent regardless.
“It’s fine dad. Really. Gotta go, the crowd here is getting intense. Bye!” Ken says, then hanging up. He feels bad about hanging up on Naoya like that, but he can’t risk not losing attention in a place as packed as this.
After the call, Ken then spots a game store, which he decides is his first stop. He mainly wants to get Kagami’s gift done first since he thinks that will be the easiest to do out of the two. After trying to maneuver his way into the shop, Ken ends up getting pushed on the ground by a particularly rude guy, falling on his face. As if that wasn’t enough, he gets his leg stepped on, causing the boy to yelp in pain. After getting his leg trampled by the man who pushed him, a girl who works at the shop runs up to him and kneels, looking at Ken. “Are you okay sir?”, the clerk asks.
“I’m okay, just a bruise,” Ken replies, despite the fact his leg is now absolutely hurting. While it’s not a serious injury, Ken feels like a bone is broken anyway. He grabs the clerk’s hand, who gives him a friendly smile. “I’ve been through worse. Thanks.” He gives a nervous smile at her, mainly trying to hide the pain. He doesn’t want to cause a scene. Not during the holidays, no matter how much he suffers.
“If you say so. Anyways, welcome to Pixel Camp. We sell old and new games here! Feel free to look at our selection!” the clerk says. Ken hasn’t even taken a step after being helped up and he is already impressed. They have a lot of video game memorabilia stored here, alongside games from different platforms. Super Famicom, Nintendo 64, all PlayStation systems, old SEGA consoles, they even have Xbox games here, which is surprising given how Ken was told by Kagami about how that family of systems isn’t popular in Japan. Thankfully, besides the man who pushed him, it’s surprisingly not as crowded here.
Ken begins to walk around and look at what they have, struggling to stand due to his slightly injured leg. Ken knows that Kagami prefers action games, particularly from the West. Granted, there are a few exceptions for his taste as he likes Like a Dragon and games by FromSoftware, but again, those are exceptions.
He gets to the area consisting of games that can’t be shown openly due to their high CERO rating in the back of the store, which is where Ken now has to make his decision. He sees a few copies of the Saints Row reboot. “I can avoid that, given how Kagami went on how that game isn’t like the previous games. I never played those games, but best to eliminate that.” Ken can only imagine how Kagami would react if he gave Kagami that for Christmas for a laugh, but Ken isn’t that type of person. He’s not like the former prankster Taichi.
He sees God of War: Ragnarok, but Ken doubts Kagami would be interested since he expressed that he’s not really into the way recent PlayStation exclusives have been taking their gameplay style in.
Finally, Ken sees a copy of No More Heroes III, which seems to have gotten its PlayStation 5 port. Ken has heard of the series but hasn’t played it, mainly since it doesn’t seem like his type of game, but he does think Kagami will like it, even if it’s not foreign as Ken was looking for. Ken takes the copy and crosses off Kagami from his list.
Even though Ken now has the game, Ken thinks he may have some yen to spare. What if he got something for himself? Wouldn’t hurt to self-indulge, especially with the leg injury, the cold, and getting pushed around. He looks at the Nintendo Switch section, looking for a game to pick for himself. He sees Danganronpa Decadence, which Ken might try out. Aside from knowing it’s a murder mystery game as he was told from Kagami, Ken knows nothing else and he doesn’t really have any expectations. He grabs a copy and heads to the front.
The clerk sees Ken. “Did you find anything to your liking?” she says. She seems to be eyeing Ken’s leg, which is still shaking. It’s good that she is concerned for his well-being, but Ken doesn’t want to use the injury to get sympathy from people. It seems like a selfish thing to do in his mind.
“Of course. Just getting something for a friend… and something for myself.” Ken replies. He looks away for a bit, a bit nervous and not wanting any attention on his leg.
“I see. Well, I’ll ring these up!” The clerk replies. She seems to be preventing herself from looking at Ken’s leg, probably having figured Ken wants it to be ignored. “Alrighty! Here’s your total!” 12,000 yen. That’s actually not that bad, and Ken still has 88,000 left. Ken pays the required amount and puts the games into a plastic bag. “Happy holidays! Hope your leg feels better!” the clerk says. Ken will let the wishes slide, since she’s just trying to be nice and supportive. Ken takes his leave.
Seems like the crowding has settled down. Ken still has the limp, but now things won’t be so bad. Now that he’s got Kagami’s gift done, Ken will set his sights on the gift for the children. Since he just plans on giving them sweets for the holidays, it won’t be too hard. However, Ken isn’t gonna settle on some cheap snacks. No, he wants to get something extra special for them this year.
Trying to limp his way to a new place, he sees a sweet shop. Ken makes his way there, only to bump into someone. “Oh, I’m so sorry!” Ken says, only to realize he’s meeting a familiar face. It’s Naoto, who seems less than pleased to see the guy dating his brother. “Oh, h-hey Naoto. Glad to see you here.” Naoto is all wrapped up in black winter clothing, with a gray scarf wrapped around his neck. Seems like he doesn’t like the cold that much.
“Your tone of voice indicates you aren’t.” Naoto replies, giving him a cold, slightly angry stare. Yep, he’s already pissed off at Ken’s presence.
“Well uh, I just didn’t expect to see you here, you know?” Ken says. He’s a bit afraid, given how very disapproving Naoto is of Naoki and Ken’s relationship. “You doing Christmas shopping too? I am. Just getting some sweets for the recruitment kids.”
“Of course. I got something for my brother, and now I am going to get some sweets for myself.” Naoto says. “I’d get something for Taichi, but he hasn’t been answering my calls. He seems very broken up about that prank he did on Naoki.” Ah yeah, the leg injury incident. Naoto seems to notice Ken’s shaking leg. “That shaking doesn’t seem to be from fear. How did you get hurt?” Oh! Some concern from Naoto.
“Well… I tripped, and someone stepped on my leg… very hard. Some guy, huh?” Ken answers.
“Hm, while I won’t deny what he did was awful, for all we know, he could’ve been in a hurry. People are doing last minute shopping after all.” Naoto says. “Has he apologized for what he did?” Ken then scratches the back of his head.
“No, he didn’t, but I’m not gonna let it bother me. I uh, don’t like holding grudges.” Ken replies. Naoto, after a few seconds, gives a very small smile.
“You’re incredibly naive. Forgiving, but very naive.” Naoto says. “You never mentioned your hatred towards Masaru and Kazunori, have you?”
“I mean, I don’t forgive those two given how much they did, but I just don’t like being fueled by hate.” Ken answers. Naoto’s smile then fades away.
“Well, at least you can control your anger nicely, or lack thereof. Changing the topic, what are you getting for my brother?” Naoto says. Ken then blushes, now thinking about Naoki.
“Oh! Well, right now I’m focusing on the kids from–” Before Ken can finish speaking, Naoto grabs Ken by the neck. Not strangling or hurting him, but clearly trying to get a hold of him.
“What are you getting for my brother, Ken?” Naoto says. Ken’s eyes grow big and he looks very afraid.
“U-uh, something expensive! He loves shiny things, doesn’t he?!” Ken says. Naoto slowly lets go.
“He does. I’ll give you a deal Ken.” Naoto then walks up very close to Ken, looking him straight in the eyes. “If it exceeds his expectations, I’ll give you a gift. If it does not, I will kill you. Do not disappoint me brother.” Naoto quickly grabs Ken by the collar. “Come on, we’re going in.” Naoto proceeds to drag Ken into the sweet shop by the collar.
As Ken gets forcefully taken in, he sees how stocked this place is. Like, this is quite amazing. There’s sweets from different countries and native treats from this country. While the game store was more independent, this store seems much more supported. They have lots of fancy decorations and they have a lot more people here, which is kinda worrying due to the state of Ken’s leg. Naoto lets go of Ken, having him fall onto the floor. “Now, you said you were gonna get the children something here?” Naoto asks. “Then after that, you’ll get something for Naoki, will you?” Naoto asks.
“Well, yeah. Saving him for last so I can use the rest of my budget, or just more time to think it over.” Ken replies.
“Are you saying you don’t know exactly what to give him?” Naoto says, with an icy stare.
“Uh–”
“Ken. Do not let me down. Do not let him down.” Naoto says. “I’m going to get some treats. See you tomorrow.” Naoto then tries to leave, only for Ken to run up to him and grab his shoulder. Naoto looks back at him. “Do you need something?” Ken lets out a sigh, especially with the running wearing down his still hurting leg.
“Naoto, can you ease up a bit? It’s the Christmas season, we should be nice to each other.” Ken says. “I know you’re not serious about the death thing, or I hope you aren’t, but please, just for Christmas.” Upon being told this, Naoto looks down for a bit, only to look at him again.
“...Alright, I’m sorry. I still don’t want you to disappoint me, but I’ll try to calm down for the holidays. I apologize, now let go of me.” Naoto replies, shaking Ken away. Naoto then walks away, leaving Ken alone.
Now that Ken is left to his own devices, he begins searching for some sweets for the recruitment children. This time, the search is much easier, finding a big bag of konpeitō, which should be enough to share between five kids. Ken grabs the bag and heads to the register, only to see a familiar face. It’s Naoya, holding some winter clothing. “Dad?” Ken says. Naoya walks up to him.
“Hey, finally found you. I got these to keep you warm.” Naoya says. Naoya then hands the clothes, consisting of a jacket and beanie. Naoya is wearing a white beanie, a white scarf, and a big green jacket. Underneath that, he seems to be wearing his usual black suit from what Ken can guess from the pants.
“Dad, I’m 21.” Ken says. “How did you even find me?”
“Well, I put a tracking device on your phone.” Naoya says.
“...Huh?” Why would Naoya do that?
“You nearly died multiple times. I’m worried about you.” Naoya says. “I don’t care if you’re an adult, I don’t like the idea of you freezing to death. You’ve been stabbed. You’ve been shot. You’ve lost your arm.” Naoya seems to be overreacting to Ken going out in the cold without proper winter clothes, but he’s just concerned, and the examples he gave are very valid, Ken has to admit. Those were very unpleasant and frightening events, so Ken can’t be mad at him. Naoya then notices what Ken is holding, changing his mood. “What do you have there?”
“Oh, these? Just some konpeitō. Got them for the kids.” Ken replies. “I’ve also got some games. One for me and one for Kagami.” Naoya gives a smile, looking pretty proud of him.
“Heh, you’ve always had a big heart.” Naoya says. “I’m… still not sure how to deal with your friendship with Kagami, but you seem to really care. Just… promise you’ll stay loyal to the Traditionalists, will you?”
“Yes.” Ken says. “But really, he’s not a bad guy. He’s just… troubled.” Ken looks away for a bit. He’s telling the truth about Kagami, but he knows Naoya is still gonna be suspicious.
“Right. Now, are you done Christmas shopping?” Naoya asks.
“Oh, no. I still gotta do Naoki’s gift. I wanna get something special for him!” Ken replies, with a small smile growing.
“Ah, that’s very kind of you!” Naoya says, with a smile. “But, will you have enough money for him?”
“Well, this bag is around 8,500 yen, so I’ll have 79,500 left.” Ken says.
“And what do you plan on getting for Naoki then?” Naoya asks.
“Um, something shiny! And expensive!” Ken replies. He seems rather excited. Naoya strokes his chin, seeming kinda doubtful.
“Are you sure you’ll be able to afford him something? Naoki has very high standards.” Naoya says. Ken looks away nervously as his smile drops, as he knows Naoya is right. Naoki can be quite expensive.
“I-I’ll try my best. Really. Just watch!” Ken says, back to smiling. Naoya looks at him, only to nod a few seconds later.
“Do you want me to take you somewhere? I know a place that might have what you need.” Naoya says. “I’ve been there multiple times myself. I have found quite a lot of things that look pretty. You can probably find something Naoki will like there.”
“Well, if you know the directions.” Ken says. “But uh, I’d go alone.” Naoya then sighs.
“If you say so. It’s actually closeby, when you leave this shop it’s just to your left..” Naoya says. “Though, once you’re done, I’m escorting you home.”
“Alright.” Ken says. He knows that Naoya isn’t gonna stop worrying anytime soon. As Ken tries to go to the counter to pay for the bag, Naoya then runs up to him.
“You’re limping. What happened?” Naoya asks. Oh, the leg. Now this is getting worrisome. Ken really wants to get this shopping done, but Naoya is getting really concerned now. Ken takes a deep breath.
“Uh, someone pushed me… and stepped on my leg. Hard. But it’s ok! It’s just–” Before Ken can finish, Naoya grabs the bag.
“I’ll be paying this for you, and then I’ll be taking you to your apartment.” Naoya says, with a stern expression. “Now come on, I’ll help ya up.” Naoya then grabs Ken’s arm in order to support him so he doesn’t have to use his injured leg that much.
“Wait, what about Naoki? I haven’t gotten his gift!” Ken says.
“We’ll figure something out.” Naoya says. Naoya then pays for the konpeitō and leaves, taking Ken with him. “I’m taking you to your apartment. You rest up, okay?”
“Yeah, but Nao–”
“Ken, I understand your concern, especially since you two started dating recently, but you need to let your leg heal. Plus, I already told you I’ll figure something out for you.” Naoya says, interrupting Ken.
“Yeah, but wouldn’t it be more special if–”
“Ken Ito.” The uttering of his full name was enough to keep Ken quiet. Yeah, seems like he isn’t gonna be able to finish what he started. Hopefully, Naoya will provide great assistance tomorrow.
—
December 24th
It’s Christmas Eve. Ken’s leg has healed nicely and surprisingly quickly, though since no bones were broken, it’s not much to think about it. He’s sitting down in his apartment, looking at the small Christmas tree set up, with Kagami’s gift all wrapped up.
Ken is still worried though. Naoki is about to come home and Kagami is coming over, but since Ken was forced home, he couldn’t go to the recruitment division to deliver the candy.
Bzzzz. Bzzzz. Bzzzz.
Huh, a phone call. Ken grabs his phone and sees that it’s Naoya. Ken accepts. “Hello?”
“Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I delivered the konpeitō in your name.” Naoya says. Oh, so Naoya did the gift delivering then.
“You did? Will they know it's from me?” Ken asks. Naoya gives a light chuckle.
“Ken, I used to work in thievery. I can still do stealth work. Age has slowed me down but this was very easy.” Naoya replies. Oh, that’s good then. At least Ken will get his thoughts and appreciation towards the kids well. “They’re still sleeping, so they’ll wake up to see what you got from them. Oh, and Ken?”
“Yeah?” Ken asks.
“Check your front door. I told you I’d help ya with Naoki’s gift. Gotta go, bye!” Naoya then hangs up. With Ken putting his phone away, Ken opens the front door of his apartment and looks down, spotting a gift wrapped box. It has a tag reading “From: Ken. To: Naoki”. He also sees a note, which Ken picks up.
I spent your remaining yen on this, just so your effort wouldn’t go to waste. Hope he enjoys it! -Naoya
Well, Ken isn’t gonna complain. Ken puts the note in his pocket, grabs the box and takes it inside, putting it beside Kagami’s gift. Just as he does so, he hears the door open. Ken looks behind him, and sees Naoki and Kagami walking in, with a surprise visit from Naoto. Well, maybe not too surprising since he’s Naoki’s brother.
“Happy Christmas Kenny!” Naoki says. They’re all holding gifts themselves. Naoki has two while Kagami and Naoto have one. “How you doing?” Ken seems kinda caught off-guard, not expecting them to come this quickly.
“Oh, I’m fine. Heh, just moving some stuff. What do you all got there?” Ken asks. Kagami walks up to him.
“Oh, you know, Christmas shit, because the holiday is here.” Kagami responds. Naoki and Naoto don’t seem to mind him much, so it seems like they can tolerate Ken’s friendship with him.
“Everyone, sit down.” Naoto says. “I wanna see what Ken has in store for my brother.” Well, this is nerve wracking. Ken isn’t sure what Naoya got to help him for his gift to Naoki, but he’s just hoping it’ll be good enough. Naoki then looks at everyone.
“So… who’s going first?” Naoki asks, weirdly calm. “Anyone?”
“Uh, Naoki!” Ken says. “Wanna do my gift first?”
“Nope nope! I wanna save you for last now that you’re my boyfriend!” Naoki replies. But he just asked who's going first, but Naoki is very unpredictable, so Ken shouldn’t be too surprised. Kagami then hands his gift to Ken.
“Fuck it. Me and Ken will do it. Now come on, open it!” Kagami says. He seems rather excited, and not in the thrilling way but in the happy way. Ken then looks at the box Kagami gave him, noticing how big it is. He then opens it up and inside he finds a skateboard, with the front being black. Kenp pulls it out to look at the back, seeing a blue color. “You see, I’m not sure if ya knew, but I really like Tony Hawk. Dude’s a great guy, and he inspired me to get into skateboarding. If it’s not your thing… Just keep it around your apartment, or if you wanna try it out, hit me up. I can help ya.” Ken nods.
“Well, I’m very open towards trying new things. Thanks!” Ken says. While Kagami’s mouth is still covered by his black neck gaiter, he can tell Kagami is giving a smile. Naoki then leans towards Kagami.
“Ken, can I try it too?” Naoki asks. Before Ken could respond, Kagami answered instead.
“Hell no! The weight from your big ass would break it in two.” Kagami says. “Ken’s like 115 pounds, and I got that model that’ll support his style nicely. From what he told me, you weigh fucking 200 pounds. So no, you can’t!” A bit of an extreme response, and Naoto doesn’t seem very happy about what just happened. Though in all honesty, Kagami isn’t wrong, given how much Naoki weighs. Regardless, things got pretty heated.
“Uh, Kagami, best not to blow up like that during the holidays… especially not around Naoto.” Ken says, clearly concerned about how unhappy Naoto looks.
“I’ll be fair, Kagami is not wrong with what he said… But he definitely should’ve said it better.” Naoto says. Judging from Kagami’s expression, this is enough to calm him down, at least just for Ken’s sake.
“Right, sorry.” Kagami says, sighing.
“So, where did you steal it from?” Naoki asks, seeming very eager to change the topic. He’s not even too bothered by Kagami’s rant. Then again, nothing bothers him that much.
“What? I paid for this. It’s Christmas.” Kagami replies.
Naoki looks at him weirdly. “You guys too? I wanted to steal some things for Ken and Naoto’s gifts, but Naoto told me I should pay for them. Why?” Naoki says, looking rather confused. He does take thievery very seriously, to the point he thinks stealing is right. He has a lot to learn. “At least he gave me money to pay for stuff.” Naoto puts his hand on Naoto’s shoulder.
“It’s more meaningful that way. You steal stuff all the time.” Naoto says. He then hands his gift to Naoki. “Now, here’s my gift to you. Merry Christmas.” Naoki looks at the box and tilts his head. He opens it up and pulls out a golden diamond. “It’s a civilian thing where you can find it in a jewelry store, but it fits your shiny taste, doesn’t it?” After Naoto asks, Naoki then hugs him, clearly elated by the gift. Even Naoto, who’s usually stoic and cold, has a big smile on his face. Ken smiles at the brothers’ happiness, though still nervous about what could be in his gift for Naoki.
“So, is it made out of gold entirely, or is there an actual diamond underneath?” Kagami asks.
“Who cares? It’s great either way!” Naoki says, clearly ecstatic.
Afterwards, Naoki then quickly hands his gift to Naoto. “C’mon! Open open!” Naoki says. Naoto nods and then slowly opens the gift, only to blush once he sees what’s inside. “So?” Naoto then pulls out a stuffed animal of a shiba inu. Huh, didn’t know Naoto liked plushies. Naoto looks at Naoki and rubs his back. “See, Naoto loves plushies! Don’t you?” Naoto looks kind of embarrassed, but also very thankful towards Naoki. Guess his liking towards them was a secret.
Ken then tries to ask Naoto a question. “So, Naoto, next year should I–” Before Ken could finish his question, Naoto gave Ken a cold stare, which promptly shuts Ken up.
Naoki then throws his gift to Ken, which he catches. “Your turn!” Naoki says. Ken smiles, opening it up. Once he sees what’s inside, his eyes light up. He pulls out a blue dress, and it seems rather big. “Trust me Ken, the skirt is massive. You’ll love it!” Ken has a huge smile on his face. Looks like Naoki is supporting his crossdressing hobby well.
“Ah yeah, you said you liked feminine stuff, didn’t ya?” Kagami asks. “Well, don’t wear it if you use the skateboard I gave ya, unless you want that dress fucked up.” Kagami’s right, and Ken wants to treat this very delicately. Not just because Ken wants to treat his dresses with care and safety, but also because it came from Naoki, so this one is really special to him now.
“Right, that’s a good idea.” Ken responds. He then looks at Naoki. “I cannot wait to put this on!” Naoki seems very happy that Ken is enjoying his gift. The couple is very happy.
Now that Naoki’s gift to Ken is done, it’s down to Ken’s gifts to Naoki and Kagami. Since Naoki said he wanted his gift last, he hands Kagami his gift. He opens it up and sees the copy of No More Heroes III. “You’ve told me all about the stuff you like when it comes to games. I have a feeling you might like it.” Ken says.
“Of course, man. Funny enough, I just finished the previous games. You just made it easier for me!” Kagami responds. Ken seems pretty happy his gift to Kagami went very well. “I’ll tell ya what, I’m gonna force your ass to play the other games.”
“Oh, if you say so.” Ken says. Not the first time Kagami has done so, since he’s very enthusiastic about getting Ken into the games he likes, even if Ken doesn’t really get into any of them. They just have very different tastes.
Now that Kagami’s gift is done, all there’s left is Ken’s gift to Naoki. Ken looks at the wrapped box, and then at Naoki. He’s very nervous right now, not knowing what’s in it. “So, uh, Naoki. Your gift from me is up last.” Ken says, handing the box to Naoki. Naoki seems very curious about what could be inside, while Naoto looks at Ken very sternly. Naoto did apologize for the threats, but Ken can imagine he still wants him to get something that would meet Naoki’s expectations. Naoki opens it up, and once he sees what’s inside, his jaw drops slightly.
“Wow…” Naoki says. He then pulls it out, revealing it to be a book, but with the cover being golden. Naoki flips through the pages, and shows everyone there’s nothing. Turns out it’s a journal. “A golden journal… I can log all my heists in gold!” Naoki then hugs the journal, and then goes to give Ken a huge hug. Ken hugs back.
“Uh, Naoki?” Ken says.
“Yep yep?” Naoki says, letting go while still looking at Ken smiling.
“Uh, just gonna let you know… Naoya helped me.” Ken says. He wants to be honest about it. Kagami seems rather confused, while Naoto just watches the two. “Um, I hurt my leg yesterday. Really bad. So, Naoya forced me to our apartment before I could get my shopping done… I told him I was gonna get you something shiny and expensive, and he used the rest of the money I was using for the shopping. So um…”
“Ken…” Naoki says, with a straight face. Ken’s getting really nervous now, not sure what Naoki is gonna say next. Then Naoki smirks. “Does it matter? In my heart’s eyes, you got it for me.” Naoki then quickly gets close again. “Doesn’t matter if you had to get help! Plus you said your leg got injured.” Well, this is a calming turn of events. Ken is very relieved now
“So, how did you get your leg hurt?” Kagami asks.
“Ken told me someone pushed him over and trampled on it very hard. It was enough that he was limping when I saw him yesterday.” Naoto replies. Now Kagami looks very pissed off.
“Anyways, Ken, you remember their face? Maybe a name?” Kagami asks.
Ken nervously laughs. “Uh, there’s no need for that Kagami. It’s in the past.” Ken says.
“Anyways! The first thing I’m gonna write down here is the gold diamond Naoto got for me and this journal you got for me!” Naoki says. “Thank you guys!” Ken seems happy about Naoki’s joy, while Naoto looks rather neutral towards Ken, but still seems happy that Naoki is still happy. “By the way Kenny, I have one more gift for you.”
“Oh? And that is…?” Ken says. To Ken’s surprise, Naoki proceeds to kiss him. While still surprising, Ken is still pretty happy about it. He looks at Naoto, who looks suspicious towards Ken. He then sees Kagami, who gives a thumbs up towards him. Naoki then let’s go. “…Well!”
“Glad you liked it!” Naoki says. “Well, guess that’s everything for gifts! What now?”
“Uh, I got myself a visual novel, if anyone is interested to watch.” Ken says. “It’s called uh, Danganronpa Decadence.”
“Oh, that series.” Kagami says. “This is gonna be an interesting night. Naoto, you’re staying with us.” Naoto sighs, nodding towards Kagami. Ken’s guessing he’s doing so so he can stay with his brother some more. Ken takes out the case he has, inserts the cartridges to his Switch dock connected to the TV, and turns it on.
