So today I got recommended this tv series from 2008 "In treatment". And as soon as the first episode began I realized something.
It began in the same way the first therapy session we see in Hannibal begins.
And I highly believe it's not a coincidence. A lot of Dr. Paul's mannerism is very similar to Dr. Lecter's so I'm thinking Mads might have watched this to get inspired for how to play a therapist.

I'm not having a ton of success with google - I'm probably not using the right keywords - but can I ask how tea gowns like the one you recently reblogged (from 1882) were constructed/put on/taken off? I am attempting to make my porn as period accurate as possible and I have done so much research on undergarments.

I don't know off the top of my head, but my guess would be hooks at one side beneath the overgown section to close the faux underdress front panel and its collar- it's always a faux underdress, with this (very popular) style -and then a belt that hooks into place on the other side across that. On the bodice, that is- whether the skirt has closures at all, I can't guess. Often the skirts of these would be all one section, with just the bodice opening.
In that case, you'd unhook the belt, then unhook the bodice from the side where it fastens, and then probably pull it over your head or let it drop and step out of it (may have to pull it down depending on the Floof Factor of the petticoats beneath). Tea gowns could be worn with or without a corset underneath depending on the fit of the gown in question, but you'd generally still have on a chemise and drawers or pair of combinations, and at least one petticoat.
Of course, people have always been people, and if Sexytimes were planned in advance, the wearer might well subtract layers underneath for the occasion.
