#It's a good thing the dad fan club is so dedicated

Okay, so this is regarding that fantastic anon I got over the totally absent DomiTrent content in socials. There I shared my reasonable (or so I think) opinion on the matter, so here's the very unhinged one.

Just as a reminder, this is pure fun, I made it all up, based on speculation, I don't know anything and none of this is factual. Now, that we got that out of the way, let's do this.

So, we all know and remember (and grieve and miss!) September, the literal peak of DomiTrent, right? It all started when Trent assisted Domi's first ever goal for the club they had that very cute celebration. DomiTrent thruthers were born that day. Then, literally every Inside video we have, they are suddenly next to each other. The sm media only have themselves to blame, because it was them who launched them first when they posted them hugging and laughing and arriving to training together! This kept happening, I mean them being literally obsessed with each other. And the official socials were milking the heck out of it!!

The scenes when these dropped? Girly, they dedicated half of that Inside video to them! They KNEW what they were doing with including a literal clip of Trent sniffling and clinging to Domi like a coala. Engagements were flying.

By this time, they were all over, everywhere. Neither of them could give an interview without being asked about each other. People were obsessed with them, and the sm media was very aware of that. They were posting singular posts about just the two of them having the most basic interactions, they were totally milking it. The fact that Mo posted them together on the hot tube only added to the fire.😭

Then, the bum tickling/fingering controversy happens. Bumm. It's unexpected and uncontrollable. They were just literally caught on live, there's no editing them out, making it a certain way, nope, it's out of control and it's everywhere. And I mean everywhere. And while we were having a field day here, not everyone was... There are hundreds of comments like this (and this is only twt):

At this point, there are viral tweets going on how both of them, especially Dominik is gay. News just dropped he broke up with his girlfriend, too. First, its all fun, clearly a joke, then it's just like the tweets show, it reaches a certain circle. It reached the Hungarian media too. Now, there are close-minded, homophobic older football fans, and there are Hungarian close-minded, homophobic older football fans. Let's just say, it did not look good.

Right after the whole bum-touching incident, Szoboszlai's dad goes to a Hungarian live broadcasting of the next Liverpool match. Of course, they pull the video out about him and Trent and ask him about it, basically, that what is Dominik doing, looks like he got comfortable in LFC already. It was light-hearted, the question, his dad response ... seemingly too,or at least tried very hard to be to. I think there was pa certain edge to it. They were trying to ask about Dominik's bromance with Trent, as most journalists did at the time, but he dismissed the whole thing and cut the conversation short with only saying that "He [Dominik] likes to clown around".

(He said "bohóckodni", which does mean clown in mirror translation. It could be also translated as joking around, but jokes imply that it's fun and light-hearted, not to be taken seriously, while what he said, again, had some real edge to it. Kind of like "fool around". A disapproving tone to it, basically.)

After that, silence. No more DomiTrent content, they even got moved in the training from being in the same group. To me, for a time, It looked like the sm team was actually going out their way not to show them together. Like the first game they had a post about them was when, against City, showing a pre-match training shorts video? That's a bit odd, considering that they were living off posting of the two just literally breathing next to each other.

So, here's what I think. I think Dominik's management did not like what was being assumed about him. That he was building up a reputation of being the "new gay acting guy, obsessed with Trent". It's not something, that at the moment, could be accepted. Not in football, and definitely not in the Hungarian footballing world. When his dad was asked about it in live TV, I think that was the last straw. I don't think he was impressed/happy about Dominik in that regard, that this was even something that people brought up and connected his son with. I think, essentially, pressured by his dad (who admittedly still have a huge influence in his life, on his agent), his team must have told the Liverpool sm team to basically stop showing them together to silence those shouts.

Again, this could have been done by the Liverpool sm team, done or supported by Trent's team, the players themselves, anything and anyone, we don't know. We don't even know if it was really an intentional move to quit showing them together. I think it was, In my mind, have no question about that. What I shared above tho? Bit of fanfiction-like😭 but in my mind, based on how his dad reacted and just the culture/Domi's relationship with his dad, could totally see it.

The thing is! As I said before this is a scene from the movie Sixteen Candles starring Molly Ringwald most known for The Breakfast Club movie that actually have an episode of Bob's Burgers dedicated to it. do you see the connection?

So yeah, don't remember if is actually mentioned but I'm totally sure Gene is a big Molly Ringwald fan, is just his type of girl icon.

The movie in itself is a movie that carries a lot of good memories for me. My mom loves to show me movies from her childhood and teen years.

I remember watching this movie with my mom we both laughing of all the craziest shit that this movie had, commenting how different movies were back then and crushing over Molly Ringwald.

And then just a couple of days ago as a way to find the inspiration again I decided to watch it again with my lil sis who almost cry in the end scene (not the romantic one, the one with the girl and her dad)

And we catch sight of a lesbian! Hunting lesbians in older movies since 2024

The thing is even though I love this movie I have to say is from the 80's, wich mean hella racist toward asian people, very misogynist, and it have boobs (that is not a real problem but since people on twit is trying to banned sex I added it) so yeah, watch carefully. But totally recommended.

There's a scene I would also draw with Tina and Bob from this movie.

Second fun fact. Even though this was the first drawing I made I didn't made the romantic interest until this wednesday.

Originally I though Alex, but I wasn't 100% convinced cause at that point I was heart broken at the realization they were probably discarding his character (note: I don't know if they are discarding the character) (read as a Mort situation) So yeah.

Then I though DAH! Courtney, but I don't ship them as a couple so that didn't seem quite right.

Then talking with Golden I got really fond of their OC Alexis and though, why not? I believed in signs.

The universe talk and I have to listen. The fact that Golden decided to tell me about their character right when I was starting to draw this piece was all I needed to know.

Also I though of just letting that spot blank and maybe made a dynamic were people put whoever they wanted with Gene. Which for me could been hella funny. But I don't think anyone would actually want to do that so yeah.

Neil with his fans? yes please!

I know very much of the sports fandom and it’s craze. I know most people, middle aged men in particular, don’t want extra info of the players except their skills. (my dad lol)

But teen girls and Boys??!! Oh, they’re The Heart of making sports personalities into literal Celebrities! (I actually idolised many Brazilian football player and actually had a shrine!)

As for the aftg universe, we know that Exy is a relatively new but gradually popular sports. If we fix the timeline correctly, then it’s in the mid 80s when Neil was obsessed with the sports. it's very clear with Neil's own Kevin and Riko shrine, he's much like a fanboy himself too!

so turns out, Exy fandom do exist there on full blast. Judging by Kevin's popularity and Neil's super rise to the fame with pure talent, it would be only a matter of time when Neil becomes as popular as him.

Coming to the main point, How would he react to his fans?!!

At first, he wouldn't even believe he might have some fans. He's always too busy with dealing with reporters as a captain, his first reaction to someone screaming 'JOSTEN!! WE LOVE YOU!!' is like a rabbit hearing a gunshot (Nicky's words!)

The fans often mail him gifts and Postcards and chocolates. Neil give the chocolates to Andrew and keep the postcards in a wardrobe drawer dedicated to these.

When the fans of the front row seats call him to sign a autograph after a game, he's always to worn out to even hold a pen. But when he's in a good mood, being benched for the last half of the game and his team winning, he tells the security to grab a bunch of notes to sign them off. (oh and the girls scream!!! that can surely be heard from outside of the stadium)

oh, the girls, fangirls yes. Neil isn't (obviously) like Nicky; out, loud and proud. He keeps his intimate relationship with Andrew a very secret. in one of the sports banquet, Some girls were crying and screaming at the the audience side of the red carpet as he and Kevin arrived. Kevin told him to keep things professional as he gently smiled at the camera's and the fangirls. Neil scoffed. a few girls were literally sobbing with a notebook in hands and calling out Neil. Kevin told him to sign a few fans as he went to his fan-group. Neil hesitated for a bit and then tried a smile as he reached the fangirls. their screeching noises were deafening. as was almost finished with a third one, a girl blurted out, "Please marry me Neil!! I love you!". Neil finished the fourth one and looked at the direction where the confession came. Flustered by being noticed, the girl who said that still asked a tone higher, "please, Neil?!" upon noticing the girl right this time, Neil gently smiled, "I'm sorry, but I'm already someone else's!" the girls exclaimed shrikes that time were manageable, But Kevin's roaring remarks of the next morning's headlines were not.

paparazzi never really seem to get tired of him. in a store buying stuff with pyjamas on? check. Having occasional convo with Andrew outside the game (a lot)? check. Coming out of a LGBTQ friendly club once in two weeks? check (bonus if Andrew is on sight). Neil meeting up with his former team-mates once a while? check, check and check.

Neil does get celebrity treatment but he refuses to admit. A good looking player with a no-filter comments about opposed team, he is a total banger for the sports drama.

He often asks some fans if there is something he should focus on more. The fanboys just burst out every theory they have. They might not be accurate sometimes but Neil does love a constructive criticism.

Neil is often seen with Andrew but surprisingly nobody questions them and he doesn't mind about it.

the fan accounts of Neil are a absolute disaster. Nicky found about it first. Neil was way too cringed at the contents some middle school girls make and none of these focused on Exy. Neil never once looked him up on the fansites again.

Neil never fails to feel goosebumps when the fans roar their pro team fight song when he goes pro. For the first few years, he and Andrew been playing on different team. So in small match breaks when he goes to Andrew to say how good he was playing, the fans roared in cheers cause they assumed these two were warning each other off. That's when the famous 'Josten-Minyard; formidable foe?' headline started a trend. Neil's freshmen years foxes team made this like a common family joke whenever they see two of them together!

Would you have any book recs for someone who loves Discworld? I’ve read all the books in the series and I’m now looking for stories that are as good as Terry Pratchett’s!

I mean, good luck finding anything as good as Discworld ;)

But yes, I have recs!

Rivers of London- if you like the City Watch novels, you'll probably like these. The author (Ben Aaronovitch) is a fellow Discworld fan who references Sam Vimes in at least one book and dedicates another to PTerry himself. Also there's an extremely posh guy with a cane and a little dog.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy- if you like Discworld you've probably already read it, but just in case you haven't: you should.

The Greta Helsing trilogy- these are about a doctor who treats the undead rather than the living. There's a mystery type plot in each book and they're also very fun

The Locked Tomb- listen. These are totally different to Discworld except for two things. One: you will encounter a shitty pun and something that makes you cry within about three sentences of each other. Two: they are so dense with references to other media that you won't find them all on the first try.

Dracula- mostly because it gives you a lot of extra context for the Black Ribboners and Carpe Jugulum, but also because there's nothing your average Tumblr Discworld enjoyer loves more than a neurodivergent polycule

The Athena Club trilogy- honestly I just think they're fun and that a lot of Discworld folks would probably enjoy some novels about Victorian monster girls solving mysteries

Also, this isn't a book rec as such, though you can read them if you like: Shakespeare's plays. No, really. If you like the combination of dad jokes and profound observations on what it means to be human, Will Shakespeare's your guy. See if you can stream a few productions online, it's a lot easier to follow in performance. I'd go for A Midsummer Night's Dream as a good entry point for a Discworld fan because it's SO funny and it has the same affection for how deeply weird ordinary folks can be. Or if you prefer tragedy, try Macbeth- I'm biased because it's (obviously) my favourite but it makes Wyrd Sisters extra good.

We knew Irish indie- rock is catchy right now with the rise of many bands like Inhaler, Fontaines D.C, New Dad and Louis Tomlinson brought in another one, The Academic. Hailing from Mullingar (yeah that’s why the accent sounded familiar, hello Niall Horan!), the crowd was all over it, singing along dancing and jumping around on the upbeat indie pop songs.

Blending elements of pop with magnificently driven chords, the songs are powerful whether they sing rock songs or emotional ballads. Crowd went crazy on Girlfriends, singing a Capella on melancholic soothing drum snarls and bright riffs. Here’s a little snippet of The Academic performance that brought the magic to the French Canadian city. What a blast!

While waiting for Louis Tomlinson and the band to come on stage, pre-show playlist drove us back in time from Nirvana to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Pixies while going in depth into British culture with some Foals, Maximo Park and obviously lots of Arctic Monkeys and never forget Oasis Supersonic banger from Definitely Maybe, a fire throwback to 1994’s Britpop era.

While roadies prepping the set up and Louis Tomlinson’s scribbling Faith In The Future on the big screen, people were so loud even before he hit the stage. Through the huge screams and claps, Louis and his band then hit the first note of The Greatest for a solid intro. Kill my mind followed with such a viral energy and the fans iPhone lighting effects and singalongs. While playing Bigger Than Me on the opening night Uncasville and skipping it the next show, Laval was so happy to get it back on the set list, this is such an anthem and live it’s totally an incredible vibe. Louis Tomlinson energy was all over going from side to side of the stage, interacting with the fans like a proper rock star (and we absolutely adored it!) while teasing and laughing at his amazing musician.

Britpop inspiration floated from every side of the 10,000 cap almost-full arena alongside the live versions of Lucky Again and the slick guitars of Isaac Anderson and Michael Blackwell. Louis Tomlinson’s vocals were solid and very emotional, happiness and smiles flowing all around the people crowd. We were definitely Holding Out To Heartache when the concert finished later on! The Doncaster-born singer never let negativity bring him down and he proved it with Face The Music. Rock and indie was always his thing and he finally step up on his last record to find his genuine sound. He’s thankful for the fans and never forget where he belongs. Dedicating We Made It for his supporters, people sang along loudly to the chorus. Forging his career since 2010 and even from a younger age, Louis Tomlinson is humble, grateful and gave us a very strong and rockier edition of his former band One Direction’s with Night Changes and the crowd was really into it screaming at the chorus.

Emotional and so impossible to describe the feeling, the Yorkshire singer-songwriter got this special bond with his fans. With few words, laughs and drinks, he sang back to back hits from Faith in The Future new album and bonus tracks with soulful songwriting like Chicago, Saved By A Stranger and kicked in with the dance feeling of Foals-esque number Written All Over Your Face, pointing his mic through the crowd with the infamous “SING IT” vibes. Of course, we can’t skip how his voice truly fits Alex Turner’s shoes on his brilliant cover of 505 by Arctic Monkeys. Indie Louis is a pure gem. The Angels Fly in the room with all the phone flashlights moving in sync and people humming the chorus with Tomlinson. The singer brings hope and joy to the world and the confetti exploded in the room to the jolting guitar riffs of Out Of My System. People jumped around and Louis Tomlinson did his traditional hop in the front pit to interact with fans.

Lights went off and fans shouted and cheered for the encore. Few minutes later, Louis Tomlinson’s offered three last songs, kicking it with Where Do Broken Hearts Go? He gained such confidence slaying on the high notes on some guitar-centred version, inspired by The Who. It was theatrical and emotional just like the beginning of Saturdays and the lights blinking like stars all across the arena. The night closed the Britpop fashion way with Silver Tongues in such a very electric way. Louis Tomlinson presence on stage was so on point all over the show that we would even have take more and more! What a night!

When was the last time you cried?- Last week I believe.

Do you have kids?- I do not, but one day I would like to.

Do you use sarcasm?- I do so fairly often. Mostly around my friends and my partner who is even more sarcastic than I am.

What's the first thing you notice about people?- Usually their hair. I have curly hair myself, and I love seeing how other people style and color their hair.

What's your eye color?- Blue

Scary movies or happy endings?- I’ll say happy endings because I’m a scaredy cat even though I would like to get more into horror. So if anyone has recs let me know

Any special talent?- I am good at baking and I can do a variety of accents 

Where were you born?- Southern California baby!

What are your hobbies?- Writing both original work and fanfic, drawing, reading, watching tv and movies, swimming, playing video games, and paddleboarding. 

Have you any pets?- I have a golden retriever named Beauregard. He is large, fluffy, and loves food. My family also has a little feral calico who lives in our front yard named Penny. She kind of adopted us and we kind of adopted her.

What sports do you play/have played?- When I was little I played soccer and then in middle school through high school I was on the swim team, both for club and my high school. 

How tall are you?- 5’7” or 170 cm

Favorite subject in school?- History! I love learning about history so much. It helps inspire my writing. 

Dream job?- Author of several well regarded series with dedicated fans, who also writes for film and tv. I would love to help produce and write tv adaptations for my books. My dream is to be a creative.

BOOK REVIEW: FEAR AND LOATHING AT GOODISON PARK by Louis Foster (2023)

New hardback on Everton FC under David Moyes. The book - with an eye-catching cover design - is dedicated to the author’s mum and dad among other people, with the touching inscription, “And for making sure I was born Blue, the greatest gift you have ever given me”.

Obviously, writer, Louis Foster, has been supported from the cradle... to the ground! GOODISON PARK!!

So follows 31 chapters, beginning with ‘Power To The People’s Club’ and ending some 240 pages later with the poser, ‘Post-Moyes Everton; Where Are We Now?” which goes...answered.

There’s plenty of good detail / stats in FEAR AND LOATHING, for example; Everton & Liverpool line-ups for the 219th Merseyside derby, a crowd of 39,613 at Goodison and the Premier League table as things finished 2012/13 with Manchester Utd crowned champions, neighbours City 2nd, and Everton 6th and Liverpool 7th respectively.

We also learn that Tim Cahill and Leighton Baines are the Louis’s all-time favourite Everton players and in summary, Moyes success was  “providing Everton with an on-the-pitch identity , with a group of players that fans were willing to get behind, something that for the most part , the club have lacked since.”

A pleasure to chew over the 272 pages; Toffee lover or otherwise.

Barcelona’s Alexia Putellas, the full story: ‘She reminds me of Busquets and Iniesta…she is gold in every way’

Red cheeks, sweat dripping down her face, a nine-year-old girl burst out of the school toilet.

“Alexia, what’s going on?” the teacher asked.

“I was playing football! I was playing football!”, the girl replied, late for her next class.

Merce Esteban, a PE teacher, cannot forget that image of a young Alexia Putellas, the girl who played football at breaktime with the boys, who has now gone on to captain Barcelona, and last year won the Ballon d’Or, Best FIFA women’s player award, UEFA Women’s player of the year, and the Champions League.

On Saturday she will lead the seven-time league winners Barcelona out against Lyon in the Champions League final in a bid to add another trophy to the cabinet.

Pictures of pioneering women in celebration of International Women’s day are pinned up outside the entrance of Anselm Clave school in Putellas’ hometown of Mollet del Valles, a 30-minute drive from Barcelona.

Day 10 is dedicated to Ada Lovelace, the mathematician and daughter of poet Lord Byron, day 12 to the Spanish author and feminist Concepcion Arenal, and day 11 — the number in honour of her Barcelona shirt — to their very own Putellas.

Esteban, a socia of the Spanish club, watched on at the Camp Nou as her former pupil and the Barcelona team beat Real Madrid 5-2 in a world-record-breaking attendance for a women’s game (which they later broke again), a carnivalesque celebration with 91,553 fans.

“It’s strange to watch her and think she is so important,” Esteban tells The Athletic, sitting in a side room at Putellas’ school.

“For me, she’s not Alexia Putellas, the footballer. It’s Alexia, a little girl at school.”

When Esteban meets up with her old students, they talk about everyday life, how everyone is doing, normal stuff, but that doesn’t diminish her pride at seeing Putellas playing in the iconic stadium.

“I cried,” she says, starting to well up again. “But I’m so sad that her dad…” Esteban’s voice crackles, she pauses to compose herself. “I’m so sad that her dad can’t see all of this because…”

Tears now fill Esteban’s eyes.

“…I remember when she was 18, we went with my dad to watch her matches and her dad was always on the other side of the pitch, not with the people, he was alone because he was always watching her.

“It’s so sad he can’t see all of this.”

This month marks the 10th anniversary of Putellas’ father’s passing. He died just weeks before his daughter led the Spanish team to a European Under-19 Championships final, eventually losing 1-0 to Sweden.

In life and in death, he has helped shape her glorious career.

It was her father’s side of the family that inspired her love of football. They were culés (Barcelona fans) and members of the supporters’ club Penya Barcelonista Mollet del valles, but it was in the school playground that she first started kicking a ball.

Putellas’ best friend Marc Guinot, who has known “Alex” since she was three years old when they were put in the same class, grew used to Putellas’ brilliance on the school’s rooftop, red-brick pitch. When Putellas picked the teams she obviously chose Guinot who played up front but often the boys would argue about who could have her on their side.

On school trips, however, her classmates were reminded of just how special she was.

“When we played with boys from other schools, they said, ‘What? What is she doing?!’, Guinot smiles. “It was crazy. They weren’t expecting it.”

Growing up, Putellas was not shy but could be reserved at times. She was a good student, conscientious, calm and mature for her age.

“As a teacher, you could talk with her,” says Esteban. “She would make jokes, she was a very close person, she explained things. Other girls and boys don’t have the communication skills but Alexia, yes. She was one of the leaders of the class.”

As a pair Guinot and Putellas got up to some mischief. He recalls when they were 12 years old, swapping each others’ Spanish language tests so they could answer all the questions.

“We passed,” he chuckles. “You can speak to her and explain your problems. She’s a very good listener. She likes to laugh and joke around. She is very caring, she likes to be with her friends, meet up for a coffee, go to the beach, she is a very, very normal person. She’s very focused but she’s not stressed.”

Does she ever get angry? “Yes, when she loses.”

And that could be playing cards or football.

When Barcelona suffered a shock 2-0 semi-final second leg defeat to Wolfsburg (they progressed to the final winning 5-3 on aggregate), Guinot and his friends were happy because Barcelona were heading to Saturday’s final in Turin.

Putellas, who is said to be disciplined, almost obsessive about her training regime, was not. She didn’t reply to the friends’ WhatsApp group chat but they know her, she just needed some time to decompress, analyse her performance and deal with the loss in her own way.

A sporty child, Putellas played basketball, hockey and tennis but football was always the number one choice. At the age of seven, she joined Sabadell FC, 15 kilometres from her home town, and played with girls five years her senior.

Her whole family would rally round to take her to training. Her mother, Eli, and younger sister, Alba, weren’t fans of football but have been immersed in the sport ever since.

“I didn’t understand why we always had to get up early to see them run after a ball,” Alba says. “Now I am her No 1 fan”.

Despite being the youngest and far smaller than her team-mates, Putellas’ technical skill helped her stand out.

“I especially remember that she was a girl who was very bright,” says Angel Avila, who coached her at Sabadell when she was nine.

“You never had to repeat anything to her, she got every exercise the first time. She stood out a lot for her ambition, how she really wanted to learn.

“One game it had rained all week and we were playing on a clay-like pitch. It was very muddy and before that game I told the girls we could not play short passes on the ground, or it would get stuck in the mud. We’d have to play it long, and battle for the second balls.

“That was a surprise for her, she wasn’t used to hearing that, but she took the first three shots of that game. She was the one who realised immediately what was needed, took responsibility, and very quickly took on whatever you told her. She read everything very well, even at that age.”

Putellas’ leadership skills were evident from a young age and Avila selected her as captain of her age group despite her small stature. She had an insatiable desire to learn and wasn’t afraid to ask questions.

“When I gave a talk in the dressing room, she was not looking at the floor. She looked directly in my eyes,” says Avila.

“She was completely attentive to what you were explaining, very motivated in that aspect. Often when you are giving these talks there are people who are distracted, or thinking of something else, but she was always focused on whoever was talking.”

Putellas is not the only Spanish player who started at Sabadell and went on to play for the top European clubs.

Former Barcelona and Arsenal players Vicky Losada, now at Manchester City, and Marta Corredera, a Real Madrid forward, played with Putellas in the same team from the age of 12.

“She was very quiet but you could see from day one that she was really talented,” says Losada.

“She just always wanted to be the best, working hard, the things that people don’t see. She observes but she’s very focused. She loves to watch football, thinks about football, her life is 100 per cent dedicated.”

“She’s always very careful with the details. I’m so happy for her because her winning the Ballon d’Or has made a massive impact in Spain.

“Especially for Barca, our progression from being an average team growing up together to winning the Champions League last year. It makes (you) feel more proud of it.”

Putellas spent a season at Barcelona’s youth academy before moving to Espanyol where she stayed for four years.

Aged 17, she joined Levante and moved to Valencia, the first time she had been away from home. Again, despite being the youngest player, she played every game that year and was their top goalscorer even as a midfielder.

Her family, in particular her father Jaume, made the three-hour trip from Barcelona to Levante, down the coast of Spain, every Sunday to watch her play.

There was still much to improve and her tenacity ten years ago was evident. When the coach at Levante, Antonio Contreras, told Putellas she was over-reliant on her left foot, after training she practised shooting with her weaker side against Sandra Panos (Barcelona’s goalkeeper), and never wanted to lose. The hard work paid off to such an extent that when she moved to Barcelona the next summer, then-coach Xavi Llorens couldn’t tell which was her dominant side.

“She reminds me of Sergio Busquets and Andres Iniesta,” says Contreras. “She is very intelligent on the pitch, technically good but now she’s more tactical.

“One day before a game, we had a team meeting in the hotel. I opened the window and I saw an advertisement for the channel GolTV with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. I said to the players, ‘Alexia will be with Cristiano and Messi, I promise you.’

He speaks fondly not only of Putellas’ potential but as a person too. When she returned to Valencia to face Levante as a Barcelona player, to his surprise, she asked her former coach if she could eat with his family and meet his newborn son Alejandro.

“She is gold in every way,” he says. “I remember I had to speak to different players’ fathers about playing time or other issues but Jaume was in the stadium, always smiling.

“You can see his resemblance in Alexia, calm and focused. Jaume was more like Alexia and Eli, her mother, is more like Alba.

“Jaume was always together with Alexia. I think he was the most important person in football for her.”

Putellas’ father’s health gradually started to deteriorate and he was very ill with heart problems for a year. His daughter told her father: “I’m going to study medicine to be a doctor and I will help you.”

One day Contreras received a call.

“Her mother, Eli, told me, ‘Antonio, we have a problem. Jaume is in hospital, the doctor told us it’s a difficult situation.’”

He died soon after.

In one of the most difficult moments of her life, Putellas continued to play football, remaining her calm and focused self. Just over a month later, she captained Spain at the Under-19 European Championships, taking them all the way to the final.

The family are a very tight-knit group, brought closer by Jaume’s death. Those who know her best say Putellas, at times a very closed person, doesn’t talk about her dad much.

He was the one who had dedicated himself to her football career ever since she was a young girl, picking her up from school, dropping her off at training, watching her matches, proudly posting videos and photos of her success online. Esteban recalls one school trip to Girona when Putellas’ father and grandfather came to pick Putellas up at 2am — the same night of the Champions League final which they watched — to take her to a national training camp.

“Her mother spoke to me,” recalls Contreras. “She told me another club has offered Alessia a contract. “Which club?”, Contreras asked. “When she said it’s Barcelona, I said, ‘OK, she has to go.”

“I want to dedicate it to someone who has been and will always be very special to me,” Putellas said upon receiving the Ballon d’Or trophy.

“… and for whom I do everything. I hope you are very proud of your daughter. Wherever you are, this is for you dad.”

Putellas has had a huge influence on girls’ football on a local and global scale.

Three weeks after Kylian Mbappe presented her with the Ballon d’Or, she visited the school where she had spent 16 years.

Some girls were crying. “You are real,” they said, almost incredulously.

Every class from nursery to secondary school has a signed Nike poster, Putellas front and centre with the caption: “Don’t change your dream, change the world”, stuck to the wall while a plaque in her name was also erected outside the gymnasium.

There are more girls playing football on the same playground that Putellas first set foot on. When they score, they turn to their teachers and shout: “I’m the future Alexia!

“If you see Alexia, you think everything is possible. If she can do it, I can do it.”

Owl House said fuck capitalism

So this episode was interesting. Lilith pretty much killed her sister. Why the fuck would she do that?

Even more interesting: why is Belos like that? How did Hooty put his head through one of those guards? Who the fuck is the Titan, and why does everyone like him? And how are these all tied together?

This episode was a metaphor for capitalism

...and another delicious step towards radicalizing the youth into dismantling this fucked-up neo-feudal system.

We’ll start with Belos. 

Emperor Belos is a weird name, don’t you think? We all thought it was spelled “Bellows,” but it wasn’t. In fact, it’s five letters, starts with Be, ends with os, and describes a megalomaniac emperor that restricts people’s freedom in order to accumulate wealth for himself.

Sound familiar?

Emperor Bezos Belos created capitalism. He saw the beauty of magic and decided to make himself the most powerful.

Belos created a system that destroys the masses and boosts his power.

 I’m dipping into fan theory a little, because the fan theory fits. We know that people get branded with coven magic that makes it so they can only specialize in one area. We know that Belos is the most powerful witch in the Boiling Isles. We know that the excess magic, magic created by restrictions, has to go somewhere.

It’s the same system that many viewers see all the time. A job takes up all your day and tires you for the night, so you can only do one skill for the rest of your life. Jeff Bezos is the most powerful man in the United States. Excess money, money taken by restrictions, has to go somewhere.

The magic goes to Belos, like how the money goes to Bezos. Belos created capitalism, and he won it.

The guards aren’t real. 

Look, we’ve never seen their faces. They’re all the same. Why would you work so hard to get to the top, just to become a nameless, faceless killing machine?

Oh, also Hooty stuck his face through one. There is nothing under the armor.

Why? Well, it’s the same reason you see all those celebrities going around flaunting their wealth and bragging about how hard they worked. Like all those songs about how they grind every day and work harder than everyone else while you’re out clubbing, and that makes them dope. And then you take a closer look at them and see that they had a small loan of a million dollars fueling them, or an entire talent agency behind them, or their dad was a famous country star in the 80′s. 

They’re fake. They’re hollow. They’re a ploy created by the capitalist emperor to try to delude you into working harder. 

Let me put this into perspective. I guarantee that every single one of you has heard stuff like this: “Hard work makes you successful.” “I put in the work, and that’s why I’m successful.” “If you work hard enough, then you can be as successful as Mark Zuckerberg.” 

And unless you’re a robot or really lucky, I’m sure all of you have failed at this. Maybe they told you that hard work would make you good at math, so you spent 22 hours a week working on calculus, only to pass it by 3 percentage points and have it destroy your perfect 4.0 GPA. Maybe they told you that if you talked to people enough, then you would make friends, so you spent a lot of time talking to people, only to end up lonely and friendless. Maybe they told you that if you did well in school, you would get a good job, so you spent all your time working hard to be a good student, and then ended up in a soulless, dead-end job.

The guards are there to delude you. Look, who really gains from you being productive? The answer is the ruling class, the CEOs, the government, the bourgeoisie. It has always been that. All you get from working is a paycheck that lets you survive. They get a paycheck that lets them get rich. Just like Belos gets the magic and productivity of the specialized coven witches.

The guards are there to trick you. The truth is that nobody can join the Emperor’s Coven. It’s just there to make you think that hard work will make you successful. Then you spend your entire life working hard, trying to prove to the person in charge that you’re worthwhile. You give your whole life to the Coven, and they give you nothing. 

Magic is supposed to be something you pursue for fun. Being skilled at things, being good at something beautiful...that’s supposed to be something you do because you want to. But they took that and made it into a source of productivity. It doesn’t matter if you make good content. All people fucking care about is if you upload the day of premiere, if you make a lot of content quickly, if you maintain a million different conversations with strangers who expect you to be the most interesting person in the room. They don’t care how it hurts you. They don’t care how you crack from the stress. How you cry when you think no one can see you, and then you check your phone and someone can see you, someone did see you, and you have to put on your face and be the charming, magnetic person they want you to be. (oh by the way that’s why I wasn’t online much last week)

And it ruins it. Suddenly you can’t watch The Owl House without being stressed. You can’t make any content. You can’t make spells as powerfully as you want to. Your passion is replaced by perfectionism and insecurity, a voice telling you to keep being the best at what you do, or else they’ll forget you and let you die.

There’s also the Titan. 

So nobody has mentioned him before, because in addition to the Boiling Isles being a hellscape full of witchcraft and queerness, it’s also full of atheists. 

But suddenly we have people saying all this shit about him? Shit like, he gave witches the gift of magic, and then they learned to use it in a civilized manner, since being uncivilized was disrespectful?

I mean, first off, that’s fucking wrong. The island gives people magic. The island, which just so happened to be shaped like a titan-sized human. But the island/titan gives everyone all types of magic. Hell, even Luz gets to use magic, and she’s human. 

It sounds really fucking familiar. (tw for discussion of homophobia and colonialism and misogyny). It sounds like when the news is on and they show some Tr*mp supporter talking about how fetuses have more rights than people and it is their holy duty to take away a woman’s control over her body and force her through unbearable pain and into an 18-year commitment she didn’t want to make. It sounds like all the times people tried to say homosexuality should be illegal, citing a single line in a book written two thousand years ago and heavily edited by a European king. It sounds like all the times people said God wanted them to conquer, to own the entire earth, to force the other races into pain to support them.

This is that bullshit thing people do where they commit awful sins and justify it by citing the will of God. 

Or, it’s the Coven using religion as an excuse for evil.

Look, the Emperor’s Coven is clearly colonizer-coded. Saying that people’s original form of magic was wild (and showing a picture with the same joyous, rowdy energy of an 18th or 19th -century Black or indigenous party), and that it was God’s will for them to be “civilized?” Sounds like that thing that powerful white people did where they went and murdered people and forced them into their twisted capitalist system. God, gold, and glory, is what they said, because history books just love to omit the gore.

Lilith is passing the abuse cycle along. 

You know, like a good little colonizer. God I fucking hate her. She’s a MILF, in the sense that she’s a Mother I’d Like to Fling off a cliff. 

Ah, enough screaming about how much I want to drown Lilith in a tub of Hooty’s mucus. Let’s go into why I want to do that, and how she took the evils of capitalism and just...adopted those.

So, Lilith is sick and twisted for what she did to her sister. But, uhh, that’s the point. You see, there are so many other people out there like Lilith who would do the exact same thing, if given the chance. These are the people who do mean things when the teacher isn’t looking, and then act nice and try to frame you. These are the people who will hate you if you’re better than them. These are people who would do anything to bring you down, if you dare outperform them.

It’s greed, my friends. The mental illness that capitalism blesses us all with.

Lilith herself said it: she dedicated her entire life to the Coven. What she wanted was to be the best. And she almost was...except for her own sister. Someone who lived with her, annoyed her at home, bested her at school. Someone she could never beat, no matter how hard she worked. And her sister was younger than her, too! How insulting was that? Lilith wanted to be the best, and someone in her exact situation did better than her.

Lilith was insecure. And it consumed her.

But why? Why does insecurity consume her? I mean, no one can be motivated by insecurity forever. Well, not unless someone conditions it into you.

The lovely thing about the capitalist system is the morals it teaches you. Things like: “You’re only useful if you’re the best.” “Being school smart makes you smart, while being social smart or sports smart or creative smart or fandom smart is worthless.” “Your worth can be quantified by numbers and is based off arbitrary measures like your income or your grades.” Things that can and will drive us crazy if we let ourselves believe them.

And it did drive Lilith crazy. She got so twisted by a society that said being good at magic is her only worth. Look, Lilith used to be good at things, probably. She was good at sports. At times, she slips up and does an okay job of being Eda’s sister. She has a powerful presence when she’s in a room. And she’s wicked good at manipulating people. 

But that didn’t matter. Lilith bought into the lies. She let herself believe that magical skill was the only way to measure her worth. And since she needed to be the best, she hurt Eda for it.

The beautiful thing is, Eda didn’t buy that. "It’s my power, kid. And before you showed up, I spent my whole life wasting it.” Is what Eda said, as she used up the last of her power, the last of her life, to save Luz. In her final moments, she proved that she’s not like them. She’s stronger than them.

None of this matters. Not magical prowess. Not the hierarchy. Not the promise of joining the Coven and having more power than anyone else.

The only thing that matters to Eda is her family. Her real family. Her Luz, King, and Hooty. And by extension, Willow, Gus, and Amity. Those are Eda’s real reason for fighting, for dying: to protect them. Look, there’s no way she would’ve come out of that fight alive. She has a family, and her love for them is stronger than greed or jealousy or capitalism. 

Lilith never understood that. She thought the water of the womb was thicker than the blood of the covenant. Or, that the water of the womb and the blood of the covenant are stronger than the bonds of found family. She thought it didn’t matter if Eda loved, her, only if the Emperor loved her. Fucking bitch.

And now, a little something to worry about, before we go. Amity Blight. The girl who wanted to join the Emperor’s Coven more than anything, who dedicated her whole life to doing well in school, to being the best, to being perfect.

And then she met Luz. She fell for Luz. Now she’s in a tricky place, where habit and conditioning want her to join the Emperor’s Coven, but her heart wants her to do the impossible and destroy capitalism.

She wasn’t in this episode. Funny that being injured and unable to work ended up saving her from watching her future mother-in-law die. So she bought some time.

Since we're on the topic of Genesis, I've always imagined him pre-degredation as someone who was rather possessive. Like "these are my subordinates and goddess help anyone who touches what is mine." And with the way he seems to be obsessed with his own appearance and presentation, of course he'd want what is his & his responsibility to be a positive reflection. And maybe it would even be competitive in a way, "only __# of Sephiroth's men were injured in the last battle so now I have to beat that number" type thing? Idk I think his passion probably came out in pretty admirable ways. Opinions?

I could see Genesis being possessive and/or selfish tbh. Easily. Especially with some of the background info you can get on him and what you can glean from Crisis Core. I don’t know if it would necessarily be over subordinates unless he really took a liking to them, though. Angeal’s the Team Dad for SOLDIER way more than Genesis (or even Sephiroth, for that matter). However, I could see him taking a liking to someone lower ranked than him and then getting irritated when they’re like… not assigned to him or have orders that supersede his. At the same time, though, I don’t see him being nice, even toward a subordinate he likes — at least not publicly, and rarely in a way that’s not totally backhanded.

While I do think he’s the type to care about his physical appearance and rank, I don’t think he’d particularly give a shit about having a positive public image. He was obsessed with being a hero and being superior to Sephiroth at all costs, not so much winning in the court of public opinion. He wanted to be known and admired — even if begrudgingly — not necessarily loved. If we’re talking in terms of the celebrity they had, Genesis would likely be the most publicly “controversial” of the three. I see him as having an ‘infamy is just as good as fame’ mentality, at least to a certain degree.

He was passionate though, especially about LOVELESS. Like. Canonically, Genesis is considered an authority on research and interpretation of that poem and even has a second fan club dedicated to discussing it. That goes above and beyond just liking it; he’s basically a scholar on the subject.

Gen’s also clearly passionate about his rivalry with Sephiroth, but I see it as more of a ‘Legolas and Gimli at Helms Deep’ type of relationship (before everything went to shit) more than anything. He’s type to strictly want a 1v1 match without other people involved, and will put a fireball in your face if you interfere with that (Angeal 👀). So I don’t think he’d ever bring other people into a competitive situation, in any context. He doesn’t strike me as the type to base his success on other people.

Authors note: I already had a similar idea to this so I’m gonna take some ideas from what I already had written. I had to simplify this a little bit, but I hope you enjoy!

The beating of my heart drowned out the sound of the doorbell as I stood outside of my parents house. Though this event happens every year it still doesn’t quell the amount of anxiety and pain I feel, even after 20 years. In 1995 I didn’t only lose my brother Luke, I lost my boyfriend Reggie. Oh even the thought of their names makes my eyes water and my throat close up.

The door finally swung open after what felt like a century. Seeing dad standing there brought up feelings I had tried to run away from, feelings I tried to fix and shut out but never truly could. He pulled me into a tight hug and wiped some of my tears away. This is how it went every single year on his birthday, no one truly spoke but everyone knew there was nothing to say.

I still remember the night Luke ran away. My parents tried their best to pry where he was staying out of me but I never let them, I just couldn’t betray my brother like that. Besides they treated him terribly after they found out about the band. I guess I still blame them for him never coming home. 

After the candle was blown out and the cake was cut I took mine into Luke’s room to eat. I knew he’d be proud since our parents used to be super strict about no food in the bedroom and I wasn’t about to pass up the opportunity. His room was still the same, even after 20 years. Posters of his favorite bands hung on the walls, his guitar sat on its stand in the corner. I only knew one song that he taught me, but it’s become the only thing that feels close to him. The strings hadn’t been replaced in years and I could see the exact spot where his fingers had worn away the metal leaving it smooth and thin. It still sounded beautiful after all this time.

I felt something in the room shift. Goosebumps formed on my arms as I felt something soft wrap around me. It was barely there. If I wasn’t paying attention I would’ve missed it entirely with how the air seemed to wrap around me. Tears fell down my face as I put the guitar up and grabbed the empty plate, trying to make sense of what happened.

It wasn’t even a few days later when there was another ring from the doorbell. Dad answered it and let the girl inside.

“Julie lives in the house the band used to rehearse in,” Dad said as I walked into the living room, “She was just telling me she found a song that Luke wrote.”

“It’s a song about a girl named Emily?” Julie questioned.

Mom gasped, “I’m Emily…”

“Then I think your son may have written this song for you,” Julie said.

I took the paper out of her hands slowly, looking over my brother's handwriting and scribbles that covered the paper. I turned to my mom and nodded while handing it to her.

“I need some air,” I said. I walked out the front door and leaned against the hood of my car trying to catch my breath.

It wasn’t too long after that Julie finally walked outside. She saw me and put her hands in her back pockets before walking over slowly.

“Your Luke’s sister?” she asked.

“Yes,” I said, I wiped the tears off of my face, “and Reggie’s girlfriend back in the day.”

“Oh,” she said, I could tell she was shocked and I giggled at her wide eyes.

I took a deep breath, “Did you find his songwriting notebook? I’ve tried searching for it for years, it wasn’t in his stuff when he…”

“He must’ve left it in the garage before he left that night, and it’s there now. It’s one that I found. Do you want it back?”

“No,” I said, “I don’t think I have the strength to look through them all, and honestly I don’t want to know how many sappy love songs he wrote about the girls he chased when he was younger.” 

Julie laughed and I joined her, it felt good to finally be able to talk to someone about my brother.

“Julie?” I asked, “Did you find any of Reggie’s stuff?”

Julie took a pause before responding, “Yes I found some of his jackets in the garage.”

“Would you mind to bring some of them?” I asked.

She nodded before pausing again, “Did you ever move on? After that night?”

I sighed and looked down at the ground, “I lost both my brother, my best friend, and my boyfriend in the same night. It’s hard to move on after that. Losing not one but three of the people you love can change you.”

Julie nodded before pulling another piece of paper out of her back pocket, “I asked your parents if I could perform some of their songs, I think you should come.”

“Thank you Julie, I’d love to. You know I was their number one fan right? I always got to sit in at practice and got their shirts before they were for sale. I guess I didn’t want to listen to their music at all after everything that happened.”

“They wouldn’t want you to lock music out of your life, just know they died while going after their dreams. Not many people get to do that.”

I nodded before pulling her into a hug. She waved as she walked off leaving just me and the paper she gave me. I opened it up and a smaller white piece of paper fell on the ground. The first paper, bright pink and vibrant, read Julie and the Phantoms Live!

The white piece of paper was obviously from my brother's songwriting book, scribbled at the top of the page in Reggie’s handwriting was (Y/n)’s song.

The Opheum. The same place my brothers passed away over 20 years ago now. I found Julie’s dad near the front row and took my place next to them at the wall separating the fans from the stage. Julie appeared on stage finally and delivered a short speech dedicating the song to her mom and her friends. I was confused as the notes to Stand Tall started playing, I wrote this with Luke a month before he died. Where did she get this? My answer came as slowly each member of Sunset Drive appeared on stage in front of me. Tears formed in my eyes as I saw the people I loved the most show up after 20 years of thinking they were gone. After a big finale and a standing ovation Julie finally walked backstage and she had asked me to meet her back there after the show.

“Julie I- what was that? Are they really here?” I said as I rushed up to her.

“Hold on,” she said as she pulled me into the dressing room, she closed the door and turned back to me, “I’m going to tell you but I don’t want you to freak out or think I’m crazy.”

“Julie I just saw the three people I thought were dead for 20 years play an opening act on stage, if anyones crazy it’s obviously me.”

Julie took a big breath and went into the entire story of how she formed a band with my three ghost best friends and managed to convince everyone that it was a hologram. And then how a creepy demon dude branded them and is trying to force them to join his club and they have to avoid it by finding their unfinished business to be able to cross over. By the end of it I was leaning back in the chair I sat down in and rubbing my face.

“So they’re here?” I asked.

“Yes, well, kinda.”

“And people can only see them when they’re playing?” I said as I pushed my hair back.

“Yes,” she said, “and I know I know it doesn’t seem real but I can prove it to you.”

“How?”

“Follow me to my house.”

I drove behind them on the way home and waited for Julie to give me the signal to come inside.

“You know Luke wrote Stand Tall as a duet for me?”

Julie turned to me with wide eyes, “Oh- uh, no I didn’t. I’m so sorry.”

“Don’t be Julie, I’m so glad he finally got to perform it with someone,” I said with tears brimming my eyes

“Don’t you still want to be with him?” Julie asked.

I raised my eyes, “With Reggie?” 

She nodded.

“I’ve aged 20 years Julie, and spent most of that time believing he was gone. I moved on. Maybe if I could see him again I would, but I don’t really know if people would find it weird a 36 year old is dating someone who hasn’t aged.”

Julie laughed before I could continue, “I’m just happy he finally got to live his dream, and I’ll always be your biggest fan.”

 She led me out in the garage that my brothers had practiced in when they were in high school. I looked around and saw how much had changed over the years, a grand piano sat in the back that I had never seen before. The lights were still off but I could see the outline of the couch and furniture and instruments scattered around. 

“I never got to say goodbye before they crossed over,” Julie sighed and I rubbed her shoulder, “Or tell them thank you.”

I heard a whisper come from inside the studio and Julie whipped around to turn on the lights. I couldn’t see who she was talking to but I knew it was them.

“I thought you crossed over?”

My face furrowed in confusion, “What’s going on?”

“They pretended to cross over but the Orpheum wasn’t their unfinished business,” Julie said as her voice shook.

“So they came here to die again?!” I yelled.

Julie smiled and said, “Reggie said you’re still the same firecracker he asked out in freshman year.”

“Reggie?”

She pointed to the ground beside the recliner, the air seemed cloudy, surrounding a vague outline of a person. I sat down on the ground near the blob and cried wishing I could see them.

Julie pleaded with them to go join Caleb but I knew it was no use. Their stubbornness transcended the mortal world. I saw Julie lean up and hug a figure, then I saw Luke. I gasped as he started to glow a golden light.

“Why can I feel you?” Julie said. 

“I don’t know but, I feel stronger.”

“Luke?” I gasped out.

He turned and gave me his signature smile, “See? I told you you’d never get rid of me for too long.” 

I rushed forward and tackled him in a hug.

“Reggie, Alex come here!” Julie yelled.

I felt three more sets of arms around me. More glowing light filled the room and I looked up to see my three best friends standing in front of me once more.

“Whoa,” Reggie said, I looked up and looked deep into his eyes, “I don’t feel as weak anymore.”

The boys winced as the marks on their wrists began to float into the air and disappeared. 

“What does this mean?” Julie said.

“I think the band’s back,” Luke smiled.

“And with our number one fan,” Reggie said and threw his arm around me. I buried my face in his neck and finally smelled the scent I’d forgotten long ago. 

“You guys think we can try the hug thing one more time?” Alex said, causing us to laugh. We all pulled into another group hug.

After we pulled back again Reggie said, “I like this.” Before pulling us into another hug. 

“We played the Orpheum!” Julie shouted and we all jumped around, never letting go until Julie’s dad called her inside.

I stayed outside with the boys for just a little bit longer. My arms never left Reggie’s neck unless it was to hug the other too, trying to catch up on 20 years worth of affection that was missed.

“You look hot,” Reggie said causing me to chuckle.

I can go to you for literally anything and honestly I probably take it for granted. Something trivial, something serious, you’re always down to talk. I’ve never met another human being who’s so open with talking about things and so open to learn about other people and ideals. You’re honestly so great and so wonderful, man. I love talking to you and I just want you to know that you’re incredibly irreplaceable as a friend and a person.

@cheshiregrinnbuttoneyes - I think you’re the only friend of mine from high school that still talks to me consistently -- and that’s so wild, considering during high school we almost never had the chance to talk. God, you’re just so passionate about your works and you’re always working on your art, and your art is so cute and wonderful. You’re also one of the NICEST people in the world. I don’t know many people who would be willing to give away what they have to support someone else. I adore talking to you and I’m so glad I didn’t lose you, and I never want to, not prematurely.

@teirrart - maybe we don’t really talk (unless it’s some intense thirsting over milo), but I still really adore the work that you do! i think you were one of the first couple of people i followed when joining the fandom and re-joining on Tumblr here, because I adored the buttons you had on your store and bought them IMMEDIATELY haha. It’s still kinda funny to me to realize I have a set of buttons with Ink and Lust made by you and you’ve got my charms of Ink and Lust too.. it’s like a trade in a way, but I’ve just never had it happen lol. Your work is so cute, your characters are wonderful, and your stories are so emotionally driven. I adore them and adore what you do.

@tatatale - god, I still think about the drawing you did with Lust, Insans, and Ace. It brings such a smile to my face and it makes me so happy. I never thought someone who’s artwork and comics I’ve been reading since they started and really admired would ever make something with the characters I’ve made. And you do collabs and fanarts of people’s others works a lot! It’s so incredible to see. This kind of fan interaction is honestly so precious and rare. I adore your comics, I adore your art style, and you’re just so kind.

@owl-bones - we’ve only talked a few times, usually passively talking about the development of our dating sims, haha, but honestly your artwork is amazing, and the work you put into what you do is amazing. sometimes I sit here, a bit jealous of just how good Bonely Hearts Club is, but it’s honestly some silly jealousy lol. You put in an incredible amount of heart and soul into every bit of that game, and it’s so clearly evident even in just the short demo we’ve had so far -- everyone can see that. You’re an incredibly talented person.

@markiplier and @crankgameplays - jesus christ, I’ve been watching you two for so long now that i can’t even believe how long it’s been. i was literally barely in high school. it’s so funny to me how I literally had the thought of “Man, I wish Ethan and Mark did more collabs” when YouTube decided to recommend me the escape room video from Unus Annus, a channel that I had somehow MISSED entirely. (At that point, of course. I watched every video from then onward and the ones from the couple of weeks I’d missed). It’s just so wild to me to really think that... a lot of what you two have done have really shaped me today. People often talk down upon the idea of looking up to others because people can do things wrong in the future and then - oh no - now you’re suddenly regretting supporting them. But you two have never once given me that kind of vibe, and I don’t feel like I’ll ever get that from you two in the future. Your work ethics and dedication to what you do really inspires me. It’s gotten me to where I am. Unus Annus ironically made me want death less when I was at such a low point in my life, and made me realize the value of using the time I have been given. It just somehow clicked for me. So, if either of you ever do see this? Just - thanks.
