Imagine being there when Julie meets the guys
When you responded to Julie's text and made your way to her house, you didn't know what to expect. She had sent a '911' text so it had to be something big since she wasn't the type of person to just frivolously sent the code word you, Flynn, and Julie had come up with. You expected perhaps her being ready to open up and talk about her mom. Ghosts were the furthest things on your mind but that was exactly what you walked into.
Julie took the lead as she led the two of you into the loft. Holding the cross in hand high in the air, she cautiously looks around the room. "Are you still here," She says nervously, "whatever you are?"
Circling the room, nothing seems out of place from the last time you were here and it was just you two in the loft. When nothing changes or appears, she looks at you in disbelief as she shakes her head. "I know I saw something. I'm not crazy."
Opening your mouth, you were about to say something - anything to comfort her - when a mysterious and male spoke. "Well, we're all a little crazy."

JULIE AND THE PHANTOMS AO3 SERIESES
Tumblr media
EVERYTHING FOR JULIE AND THE PHANTOMS
Julie Molina
Luke Patterson
Reggie Peters
MISC
Preferences (coming)
(Any of the other characters don't have any requests written nor pending as for now, so I'm unable to have serieses for them as AO3 requires you to have at least one oneshot written to be able to add it to a series, and I can't promise serieses for characters who don't have requests pending/I have no ideas of my own for them)
For anyone who's concerned, THESE ARE NOT ONESHOT COLLECTIONS, they are made using AO3's "series" feature.
If you want to be informed about new fics for JATP or its individual characters, create an AO3 account and subscribe or bookmark any of those serieses listed above. There are buttons at the top right corner for those, or on top on mobile. I do not do Tumblr taglists anymore.
Also, if you're wondering, requests are ALWAYS open and you're welcome to leave one or multiple. Just remember to read my rules and pick a request type from this list.

new release ; luke patterson x fem!reader
➻ synopsis: you'd been playing julie and the phantom's new album on repeat all day before luke comes knocking on your door, and you end up going to dinner with your favourite band
➻ word count: 2515
➻ content: she/her pronouns for reader
➻ wrote this on a whim tonight so enjoy my first luke fic lol !!
════ ⋆⋆ ════
You tapped your fingers impatiently against your desk, willing Spotify to reload quicker, visualising the album you knew was dropping in two minutes. Finally, after 120 seconds that could have been an hour, Julie and the Phantom’s new album was out and available, and you actually might’ve been the first person to listen to it.
You’d been following Julie and the Phantoms since their very first performance was put on YouTube. Admittedly you’d been hopping on the bandwagon — your friends had been raving about it at school and force-fed you their songs, but you’d been genuinely addicted to their music ever since.
Pressing play on the new album you got up, leaving it to play as you began on your errands for the day. You danced around your apartment, putting away the washing and vacuuming and humming along to the singles that had already been released.
Luke was on his way home from his morning run when he could have sworn he could hear his own voice. Stopping, he pulled an earbud out of his ear, looking around for the source of the music. And there, on the third floor, was you. You were out on the balcony, organising the cute set of outdoor furniture you’d shoved in there and dancing ridiculously to Luke’s personal favourite song of the album. He let out a quiet laugh to himself, admiring the carefree way you jumped around, miming the chorus you’d learnt into a can of what appeared to be bug spray. He smiled once more before heading into the building, musing about the odds of having a Phantoms fan live on his floor.
Back up in his apartment he could still hear the music, both your open windows making it sound clear despite not being obnoxiously loud. Luke just shook his head, heading straight to the shower and turning on his own music so he didn’t have to be victim to his own voice all day.
An hour later, you were still listening. You’d just finished the album and evidently wanted to commit it to memory before the day was through. Luke thought it was adorable, and he could feel the gratitude flowing through every inch of him. This was why he wrote music, to resonate with people and make them happy. Plus, now that he knew the cute girl who’d just moved into the apartment opposite him liked his band, he figured he could build up some confidence to talk to you.
Morning turned to afternoon, and you were still playing his album. Luke was flattered, but in slight disbelief. He couldn’t believe you weren’t sick of it yet, though he supposed you didn’t get the same ick he did when listening to his voice. Hearing you learning the words was another bonus, your voice floating in through his kitchen window as he cooked. He thought it was lovely, though far from professional. It was an unreal experience hearing your disembodied voice stumbling through the lyrics, making up ones you’d evidently misheard and improvising your own riffs on top of Julie’s.
Luke wondered whether it was possible to develop a crush on someone based on just their voice. Yeah he thought you were cute the few times he’d seen you coming or going through his street facing window, but your laughter when your voice cracked had him weak in the knees.
When you were still playing his music by four o’clock — you’d branched out to mixing in the rest of their discography by then — he was a little worried for your sanity. Flattered and grateful for the streams, but concerned all the same. At the same time he was worried for himself. He’d offered to host his band and friends for a private celebration of the album release after the official party the night previous, and he thought it may be a little on the nose if you were still streaming their music into the night. He could already hear Alex making fun of him for living next to a fangirl (he did secretly hope you were a fangirl of him though).
So, whilst it wasn’t exactly the meet-cute he’d hoped for, Luke found himself knocking on your door. He knocked again shyly when he heard you turn down the volume, clearly trying to see if you’d heard right. A few soft footsteps on the other side of the door and it was cracking open, your curious expression greeting him. You’d only just moved in and didn’t know anyone to be visiting.
Luke watched you go through the seven stages of grief in real time. Confusion at an unexpected visitor, recognition of him, and then a million shades of humiliation as you realised you’d been listening to his music all day and he could hear. God, you probably looked like an obsessed fangirl (you were, but you didn’t want Luke Patterson to know that). With an embarrassed sound coming from the back of your throat, you asked Luke to give you twenty seconds of privacy. He agreed politely and you shut the door quickly. Slapping a hand to your mouth, you let out a silent scream, trying to let out all your anxious, embarrassed energy as quickly as possible, shaking your limbs about so you could stand still when you inevitably had to grovel for forgiveness to Luke.
Reopening your door, you were taken aback by how at ease Luke looked. And how much hotter he was in person, but you tried to push that thought to the back of your head for the sake of coherent conversation.
“Hi,” You said, resisting the urge to ramble out apologies.
“Hi,” He replied with that stupidly charming grin he wore in all his publicity shoots. “I’m Luke.”
“I know.” Fuck, you didn’t mean to say that. “Um, obviously. I’m sure you’ve heard all the…” You gestured inside to your apartment where his album was still playing quietly. You should’ve turned it off.
“Please don’t be embarrassed, it’s really cute.” Now your blush was for a totally different reason, your favourite singer was calling you cute? You had to be dreaming.
“Is there something I can do for you?” You asked, still unsure of the purpose of the visit, though you weren’t complaining.
“Oh!” Luke looked as if he really had forgotten why he’d come, but covered himself with an easy laugh, “I was just wondering if you could turn down your music a bit? It’s not too loud or anything, it’s not bothering me! It’s just, I’m having the band over tonight and as much as we’re all proud of the album, it feels a bit conceited to have it playing as we hang out privately, y’know?” You were nodding vigorously before he could finish his sentence, spilling out apologies for even playing it in the first place.
“Seriously don’t apologise,” He assured you, catching your eye in a way that made you feel like you couldn’t look away (not that you would’ve wanted to), “I really appreciate you being a fan and supporting us.” In that moment, entranced in his deep honey eyes, you honestly would have done whatever Luke Patterson asked of you, you were completely his. Maybe your parasocial relationships needed some examining.
Forcing yourself to end the moment despite your internal desires, you averted your eyes to the floor and Luke coughed slightly, both of you somewhat dazed.
“Right, well, it was really nice meeting you. Big fan. Guess I’ll see you around?” You said awkwardly, stepping back inside the threshold of your flat. Luke nodded in the same manner, and you were about to shut the door when he called for you to wait.
“Do you wanna come over later? You can meet the band, and it’s always helpful to make some friends in the building. I, uh, know you’re new here.” You nodded, more than surprised, but you sure as hell weren’t gonna turn down this opportunity.
“Yeah, that sounds nice. Thanks.” Luke named a time and you parted ways, neither of you catching the backwards glances you both chanced.
Inside your apartment was a whirlwind of stress. What did you wear for a dinner with your favourite band with an hour’s notice? You might’ve actually tried on half your wardrobe before deciding on your favourite jeans (maybe the ones that made your ass look impeccable, but who’s to say?) and a simple top. It wasn’t the most exciting outfit you could have come up with, not by a long shot, but you didn’t want to make a single wrong decision tonight. All you needed to do was be completely perfect and impress Julie and the Phantoms and maybe get Luke to like you back. Easy stuff.
By the time you were meant to be going you’d managed to do your makeup in a way that didn’t make you want to cry — why did it always turn out awful when you needed it to be good? Slipping your favourite hoops into your ears you were ready, and gave yourself a quick pep talk in the bathroom mirror. You’d never been one for those self-love affirmations, but they couldn’t hurt, right?
When Luke opened the door and his face broke into one of those smiles that lit up the building’s corridor, your nerves quieted themselves somewhat. He swept you under one of his arms leading you further into the apartment as if you’d been friends for years. You tried to take in what you could, and were a little jealous of how nicely his place was decorated — yours was still loaded with boxes and junk.
“Guys, meet my new friend!” Luke announced, and all the heads in the room snapped towards you.
“Um, hi,” You said meekly, remembering to tell them all your name.
“She’s new to the building and I thought it would be nice for her to make some friends!” You smiled internally — Luke had the same personality as in all the interviews you watched, which made you glad. You didn’t know what you would do if he wasn’t all that you imagined.
The night started out a little awkward, at least for you. You were so stressed about making a good impression that you felt a little robotic, answers calculated to try and get the most amount of laughs or agreements. Luke noticed this and gestured for you to take the seat between him and Julie when the meal was served, figuring you’d have the most in common with her, and he was more than happy to talk your ear off if the opportunity arose.
“So, why’d you come to California?” Julie asked, and you explained that you’d moved for school, but it was cheaper to rent the flat than live in the dorms. That in itself was an easy avenue into talking about your roommate who was never around and the classes you were taking this semester. When you asked about Nick, who was sitting on Julie’s other side, he happily joined the conversation to talk about how they got together just after the Phantoms began to get world famous and their (first) show at the Orpheum.
The dinner was loud and messy, and you began to feel right at home. With Reggie flicking beans at Alex, and Luke’s boisterous laughter ringing over conversation, there was a familial ambience to it all.
After the meal the group migrated towards the TV, and you found yourself next to Luke again, sandwiched between him and Willie, who introduced himself as Alex’s boyfriend. You recognised him from Alex’s Instagram, but you left that fact out. You found yourself making easy conversation with them, being the four who got Luke’s couch, whilst the others made themselves at home in armchairs and other seats scavenged from around the flat.
As you spoke to the couple about a restaurant in LA they were recommending, you felt a hand land on your thigh. A glance in his direction showed it was Luke’s, of course, but if his expression was anything to go by he was all but unaware, still speaking passionately to Nick about something. You tried to conceal your blush as your turned back to the gays, but the knowing looks had you hiding your face in your hands.
A movie was turned on and the chatter dulled somewhat, turned down to whispers over the dialogue. You didn’t know how you’d ended up cuddled up into Luke’s side, but you were absolutely not complaining. His arm on the back of the sofa had migrated to sitting around your waist at one point, and you were really hoping he couldn’t feel your racing heartbeat. An accidental glance in Julie’s direction showed her and Nick wiggling their eyebrows suggestively, to which you simply made a bewildered expression, hoping it conveyed how little idea you had of what was going on. Unbeknownst to you, Luke was fighting the same losing battle with the rest of the boys, who were making childish kissy faces when you weren’t looking. Luke handled it better than you, merely shrugging as if to say ‘she’s cute — what do you want me to do?’
A few hours later and the night was winding down. You took your leave after Reggie, not wanting to risk overstaying your welcome and jeopardising the friendships you hoped you were making. The remaining guests all gave you warm goodbyes, begging for you to come back again. Julie even swept you into a tight hug, making you promise you’d DM her to go out for coffee soon. Luke walked you to the door, a gentle hand on the small of your back not going unnoticed by his friends.
“Thanks for coming tonight, I’m really glad we met,” He said, and his shyer tone caught you off guard, but made you smile nonetheless.
“Thank you for inviting me,” You countered, “It was really sweet of you to introduce me to all your friends.” Luke waved it off like it was nothing, which you were sure to him it was.
“Can I see you again soon?” He asked, suddenly looking remarkably like a little puppy.
“I’m only a door away,” You grinned, “You can see me whenever you like. Hey, congrats again on the album. I’d say it’s pretty good.” When you pressed a kiss to his cheek and bade him goodnight, Luke couldn’t have resisted his cheesy grin if he’d tried.
“I love being a rockstar,” He said when he returned to his friends.
“Shut up, man,” Replied Alex, “You’re too whipped to claim any rockstar benefits on this one.”

I just did a bit of googling and would like to make everyone share in what I’ve just found: Julie Molina, based on a rough timeline would’ve turned 15 soon after her mom died, quinceaneras are held at 15. And based on some really quick research, a celebration meant to signify a girl coming into herself as a woman, and wouldn’t that have been such a punch in the gut right after her mothers death it’s likely she just skipped it altogether

Prompts! “Well well well, if it isn’t the feelings I’ve been trying to avoid” for RayRaggie.
The little room they put him in was blessedly silent. The chairs weren't the most comfortable thing, but well, it was an interrogation room. They weren't supposed to be comfortable.
Reggie rested his forehead on the steel table, his leg bouncing in a steady beat. He felt... fizzy, somehow. Like a soda can that had been shaken and then put back in the fridge for an unsuspecting victim.
The door opened, and an agent stepped through. "Doctor Peters."
Reggie's head shot up from the table, and he sat up straight.
Oh no. "Oh no."
Agent Molina raised an eyebrow at him, and sat down in the chair across from him.
"Am I in trouble? They wouldn't send a Level 7 agent if I weren't in trouble oh my god are they firing me aren't they? They're firing me and I'm going to have to be a barista somewhere because I can't put down Top Secret Government Lab as my former work experience."
Agent Molina smiled a comforting smile. "You're not in trouble, and you're not getting fired. They sent me because I'm experienced in truth serum. We're just trying to figure out what happened."
Oh thank god. "Oh thank god," he breathed out.
"When did you realise you'd been doused with truth serum?"
"Well, probably when I was holding a vial of truth serum to put in the centrifuge and I slipped and it spilled all over me."
"That would do it," Agent Molina said. "Were you wearing your agency issued shoes?"
"Yeah. I just tripped over my own feet because I was dancing along to music and I didn't mean to say that part."
"Truth serum will do that to you," Agent Molina nodded. "Besides the whole truth telling part, it lowers your inhibitions, so you blurt out basically everything you're thinking."
"I'm thinking about how if they fire me I can never get another one of those chocolate caramel muffins from the cafeteria." Wow, Agent Molina was right. "You were right, I am just blurting everything out. Even more so than usual. I mean I'm a dork and a blabber mouth at the best of times but I literally cannot stop talking and I hate it."
"How are you feeling?" Agent Molina asked.
"Really bad," Reggie said. "I ran into Agent Shaw and told him he couldn't pull off the man bun he was sporting and he looked really sad about it. I thought it was for an assignment but it turns out he was Trying Something New."
"I meant physically," Agent Molina clarified, looking rather amused.
Oh. "Oh. Um, fizzy."
"No trouble breathing, sweating, or increased heart rate?"
Reggie took stock of his body. "Only that last one, but that's 'cause you're so hot and I always get a little flustered when you're around and oh my god you weren't supposed to know about that."
Agent Molina looked a little startled at that.
He thunked his head on the table. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the feelings I've been trying to avoid. I'm so sorry, Agent Molina, I know you're totally not interested in a dorky scientist ten years your junior but you're just such a DILF and when you smile your eyes crinkle and if you could just kill me now that would be great thank you."
"It's alright," Agent Molina said. "We all say things we didn't mean to share when we're under truth serum. Back in the academy when we were learning to deal with being interrogated while dosed, I managed to successfully complete the assignment and then immediately after exiting the exam room tell my roommate I would have liked to have sex with him but him leaving his dirty underwear all around our room was a massive turn-off."
"How did that work out?" Reggie asked, moving his head up off the table.
"The dorm room was spotless the last six weeks of training," Agent Molina said, winking.
Reggie giggled helplessly, then whined and thunked his head back down. "Stop looking so hot it's unfair and now my crush will never go away and we have the same lunch hours and I won't be able to get the chocolate caramel muffins ever again anyway."
"I'm sorry," Agent Molina said. He did not sound particularly apologetic.
"You don't sound sorry." Reggie pouted at his shoelaces. "You got what you came for, the dumbass scientist just tripped, no foul play, no OSHA violations. Can I suffer my embarrassment in peace now?"
"I'm afraid someone has to sit with you and watch you for the next couple of hours," Agent Molina said. Reggie whined again. Maybe if he thunked his head against the table hard enough, he could make himself unconscious. "Stop that, you're going to have a headache tomorrow anyway. Now, the basic key to not saying anything you don't want to say while on truth serum is to talk about something else and keep steering the conversation to that. What can you talk about for hours on end?"
"Star Wars," Reggie blurted out. "Oh god now you know I'm a nerd."
"I like Star Wars," Agent Molina said. "What's your favourite movie?"
They talked about Star Wars for two hours, and Reggie only veered off topic to explain fanfiction and the existence of Coffee Shop AUs for like, twenty minutes. Agent Molina didn't ask anything that would make him say anything embarrassing (or well, he tried), and then when Reggie started to get sleepy, he guided him to one of the rooms on base where agents could sleep in between assignments or after stake outs.
He reassured Reggie he'd be outside the door for the next four hours, after which the serum would have worn off, but that Reggie would probably sleep for much longer. He got clearance for a few days off on medical leave afterwards, so he could lick his wounds in his own apartment (and binge read his favourite 50k coffee shop AU, of course).
When he finally did go back to work, he was very much not expecting Agent Molina to show up at his lab balancing a bag with two chocolate caramel muffins on top of two coffees, asking if maybe he'd be interested in going to drink them together.
So maybe truth serum wasn't all that bad.

Imagine Julie feeling embarrassed when the guys discover a song she wrote about you
Hearing music as Julie neared the garage wasn’t a strange occurrence ever since the boys popped into her life. In fact, it made her happy about being interested in music once again and to have new people to share it with. What was surprising was the song they were playing as she got closer to the doors and began focusing on the lyrics. Eyes widening, she was quick to open the door when she realized the song they were singing, surprising the rest of the band who stopped playing mid-song.
‘Where did you get that song? Did you go through my dream box?”
Taking off his guitar, Luke was quick to shake his head as he made his way to her. “No! We haven’t touched it since after you told us not to.”
Alex and Reggie nodded. “We found it on the piano and we thought you left it for us.” The blonde chimed in.
Walking over to the piano, Julie grabbed the sheet of paper and held it tight to her chest. “I must have forgotten to put it away. This song is," she took a breath as she tried to find what word to use. "...special to me and it just surprised me to hear you guys singing it.”

when u think about it. Are we, humble jatp fans, really that different from Charlie and Madison, actors interpretating Julie and Luke for us, when we create and write fanfiction and they create Perfect Harmony?
like the first version of it is so damn different from the recorded version, its like a Julie and Luke thing we never saw, a different version of them. Its a different melody, different sounding, different lyrics, it's like Charlie and Madi were creating a different story for Julie and Luke through their music.
imagine if that version with more deepness was something that Luke tried writing on the 90's but he never finished bc he wasn't good at writing romantic ballads and his bandmates weren't exactly romance inspo, so he gave it up and never touched it again, focusing on other songs. And then 25 years later Julie creates the same song in her head. Like she never read it anywhere, she just created it. Like its fate for them. Let's say she ends up showing it to him — not as a song she made thinking of him, but something she wanted to try for the band, and he looks at it and is like that one song he made back when he was alive, and couldn't find the perfect ending of it.
I can go on a rant here and create a scenario where they are singing the song but it becomes a different scenario (like og perfect harmony) and is from Luke's pov this time, and they are singing together on stage but as if he was alive in the 90's, Julie would be wearing a 90's outfit and there would be lights to them, as the ending comes near, the audience and their bandmates disappear and is just them, singing it to each other.
also check out the lyrics this is perfect alright why isnt fanfic of this moment (the fic is the song already) (I'm gonna put it under a read more to reduce the post)
Step into my world,
bittersweet love story with this girl
shook me to the core
voice like an angel,
I've never heard before
Moved into the city,
shreds that guitar like I've never seen,
life can be so mean,
at least I know that he'll never leave
The other side is breaking through,
two worlds collide when I'm with you
voices come to life
why must we lie that we're
the perfect harmony
the perfect harmony
I feel the rhythm through my skin
souls collide from within
love me for who I am
The best of stories never bend
Chemistry that shines so bright
you brought music back to my life
heaven on earth is how it feels
the perfect harmony
the perfect harmony
the other side is breaking through,
two worlds collide when I'm with you
voices come to life
why must we lie that we're
the perfect harmony
the perfect harmony
we say we're friends, we play pretend
you're more to me
we create the perfect harmony

Echoes of the heart - Chapter 2: Resetting the Rhythm
24 January, 2020
Julie sat at her desk, the soft glow of her desk lamp casting a warm light across the room. Her room was quiet, except for the gentle hum of her laptop as she scrolled through her messages, her mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions.
The events of the past few days had left her reeling, her heart heavy with the weight of unspoken words and unresolved feelings. She couldn't shake the memory of that night-the night she and Luke had laid their hearts bare and faced the truth of their relationship.
Since that vulnerable confession, she’d seen Luke at school. They still shared some of the same classes and she usually lunched with just Flynn or Flynn and all of the boys. Despite the familiar routines, everything felt just a little weird. The once easy camaraderie was now tinged with unspoken words and uncertain glances. Julie couldn’t help but wonder if things would ever return to the way they were before or if this was the beginning of a new, more complicated chapter in their relationship.
Her phone buzzed, and she glanced at the screen. Another message from Luke. She knew he just wanted things to go back to the way they were, but Julie couldn’t do that yet. Her feelings for Luke were way too strong to just ignore them. So she had been ignoring Luke altogether. At least, she tried to. He had been blowing up her phone, looking for some normalcy, but Julie had been blowing him off.
“What you up to Jules?” one text read.
“Do you wanna just hang out like before?” another pleaded.
Julie sighed, feeling a pang of guilt. She missed him, missed the ease of their friendship, but every time she thought about replying, the weight of her unspoken emotions held her back. She wasn’t ready to pretend everything was fine when her heart was still on the line. For now, she needed distance, even if it hurt them both.
With a heavy sigh, Julie opened her eyes and turned her attention back to her laptop. She had a paper due tomorrow-a paper she had been avoiding all week in favor of wallowing in her own self-pity. But now, with the deadline looming, she had no choice but to focus on the task at hand.
Julie's phone buzzed on her desk, jolting her out of her daze. She glanced at the screen to see Flynn's name flashing in bold letters, accompanied by a string of missed calls and text messages. With a sigh, she picked up the phone and answered, her voice heavy with fatigue.
"Hey, Flynn," Julie greeted, her tone lacking its usual enthusiasm.
"Finally, you pick up!" Flynn exclaimed, her voice bubbling with excitement. "I've been trying to get a hold of you for hours!"
Julie winced, guilt gnawing at her insides. She had been so lost in her own thoughts that she hadn't even noticed her phone ringing. "Sorry, Flynn. I've just been...distracted I got this paper to finish with no inspiration for it."
"Well, you won't believe what I found out," Flynn continued, her excitement palpable even through the phone. "There's this super exclusive underground music club opening tonight, and I managed to snag us invites!"
Julie's eyebrows shot up in surprise. An underground music club? It sounded intriguing, but she couldn't shake the heaviness weighing down her chest.
"That sounds...amazing, Flynn. But I don't know if I'm up for it tonight. I mean I have this paper, and things with Luke are-."
Flynn groans in frustration. “Can we cut the Luke talk already. He’s made himself pretty clear; he doesn’t want commitment. And you deserve to not be strung along for all of his mess!”
Julie’s face twists up in annoyance. “Well ouch”. She knew Flynn was right in a way but Julie couldn’t stand it when she was bad mouthing Luke. It’s not like Flynn doesn’t like the guitarist, she just doesn’t like how he unintentionally hurts her best friend!
Flynn's tone softened, her voice filled with concern. "Julie, I know you've been going through a lot lately, but trust me, this could be exactly what you need. A night out, surrounded by music and good vibes. Besides, when was the last time we did something spontaneous?"
Julie hesitated, torn between the comfort of her solitude and the allure of the unknown. But as she glanced around her dimly lit room, the walls closing in around her, she knew that Flynn was right. She needed to break free from the confines of her own mind, if only for one night.
"How would we even get into this club, Flynn? We're not even eighteen yet!" Julie exclaimed, her brows furrowing in concern.
"I'm one step ahead of you, Jules! I got us fake IDs," she declared triumphantly.
Julie's eyes widened in disbelief "Flynn, are you serious?" she asked, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
"Dead serious," Flynn replied, her grin widening. "Trust me, Jules, tonight is going to be epic. You won't want to miss it."
Julie hesitated, her mind swirling with conflicting thoughts and emotions. On one hand, the idea of sneaking into a club with fake IDs seemed exhilarating, a chance to break free from the constraints of their age and responsibilities. But on the other hand, the thought of getting caught filled her with a sense of dread.
"Besides, what's life without a little bit of risk, right?"
With a reluctant smile, Julie nodded, her resolve strengthening as she made up her mind. "Okay, let's do it," she declared, her voice filled with determination. "But if we get caught, it's on you."
Flynn let out a whoop of excitement, her enthusiasm infectious even through the phone. "That's what I like to hear! I'll swing by your place in an hour to pick you up. Get ready for a night you won't forget!"
As Julie ended the call, a spark of anticipation ignited within her chest. Maybe, just maybe, tonight would be the night she finally found the courage to let go of the past and embrace the future.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The line outside the club stretched down the block, a colorful tapestry of eager faces and buzzing excitement. Julie shifted nervously from foot to foot, her heart pounding in her chest as she glanced around at the sea of people around her.
Beside her, Flynn was practically bouncing with anticipation, her eyes alight with mischief as she chatted animatedly with the group of people in front of them. But for Julie, the nerves were starting to get the better of her, a gnawing sense of unease settling in the pit of her stomach.
Beside her, Flynn was practically bouncing with anticipation, her eyes alight with mischief as she chatted animatedly with the group of people in front of them. But for Julie, the nerves were starting to get the better of her, a gnawing sense of unease settling in the pit of her stomach.
"Stop shifting," Flynn hissed at Julie. "You look nervous. Everything is gonna be okay. I've done this like a million times."
Julie took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She forced a smile and looked around, trying to appear as casual and confident as Flynn. The line continued to inch forward, the pulsing bass from inside the club growing louder with each step.
"I know, I know," Julie whispered back, her voice shaky. "It's just... I've never done anything like this before. What if we get caught?"
Flynn rolled her eyes, her expression softening into a reassuring smile. "Jules, trust me. It's going to be fine. Just act natural, and we'll be inside before you know it."
Julie nodded, taking another deep breath. She focused on Flynn's confidence, trying to draw strength from her friend's unwavering assurance. They were getting closer to the entrance now, the bouncer a hulking figure in the dim light.
"Remember, confidence is key," Flynn said, giving Julie's hand a quick squeeze. "You've got this."
Julie nodded again, forcing herself to stand tall and meet the bouncer's gaze as they approached. Her heart pounded in her chest, but she followed Flynn's lead, handing over her fake ID with what she hoped was a convincing smile.
The bouncer barely glanced at their IDs, simply nodding in acknowledgment before waving them through with a dismissive gesture. Julie felt a wave of relief wash over her as they stepped inside the club, the pounding bass of the music engulfing her in its rhythmic embrace.
"I told you, easy" Flynn excitedly whispers in Julie's ear.
As they stepped inside the club, Julie felt a wave of relief wash over her, the pounding bass of the music engulfing her in its rhythmic embrace. The club was a kaleidoscope of lights and sound, the air thick with the scent of sweat and perfume as bodies moved and danced to the pulsating beat.
The club was alive with energy, the pounding bass and flashing lights creating an intoxicating atmosphere that drew everyone into its rhythm. Julie and Flynn were in the heart of it all, dancing and laughing, their worries forgotten amidst the sea of moving bodies. Julie felt the music pulsate through her, each beat syncing with her heartbeat, making her feel more alive than she had in weeks.
Flynn's infectious enthusiasm had Julie smiling and dancing without a care, but as she caught her breath and took a moment to check her phone, her heart sank. She had six missed calls from Luke and about seventeen text messages.
"Flynn, I need to step outside for a minute. I've got to take a call," Julie shouted over the music, worry etched on her face.
Flynn gave her an understanding nod. "Alright, I'll be right here! Don't take too long!"
Julie made her way through the throng of dancing bodies, the music fading slightly as she pushed open the door to the outside. The cool night air was a stark contrast to the heat inside the club. She quickly dialed Luke's number, pressing the phone to her ear as she moved away from the noise.
Luke picked up on the first ring. "Where are you?" he asked, his tone a mix of worry and annoyance.
"I'm out with Flynn, why?" Julie replied, trying to keep her voice steady.
"Well, I'm in front of your window. I wanted to see you tonight."
Julie sighed, frustration bubbling up inside her. "Well, I'm out."
"So I've heard." He says dryly with a hint of sarcasm.
"Was that all? You called me like a billion times, I thought something was wrong"
"Something IS wrong! Jules, you've been avoiding me ever since the other night, and I'm not having it." Luke exclaims matter of factly.
"I'm not avoiding you, Luke!" she said, her voice rising slightly in exasperation.
"Good! I'll wait!" he declared, much to Julie's annoyance.
"Fine, do whatever you want," she snapped before hanging up, feeling a mix of guilt and irritation. She shoved her phone back into her pocket and turned to head back inside.
As Julie re-entered the club, the music and lights hit her all at once, momentarily disorienting her. She was making her way through the crowd when she collided with someone, causing a drink to spill all over her.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry!" Julie exclaimed, looking up to see none other than Nick Carlson, the captain of the lacrosse teamstanding in front of her. His eyes were wide with surprise.
"It's okay, really," Nick said, a sheepish smile spreading across his face. "I think it’s my fault.
Julie nodded, grateful for his understanding. "Thanks," she said, offering him a sheepish smile. "I'm Julie by the way." she says while offering him a hand.
"I know who you are. We have like three classes together" He laughs. "Ohh " Julie answers awkwardly. I mean he's the captain of the lacrosse team. She definitely knew who he was, she just didn't expect him to know her.
Nick chuckled, a warm smile playing at the corners of his lips. "It's hard not to notice someone as smart as you."
Julie's cheeks flushed at the compliment, a nervous laugh escaping her lips. "Oh, um, thanks," she replied, feeling a little flustered by his unexpected praise. She had always admired Nick from afar, but she never imagined he would know who she was, let alone pay her a compliment.
"Are you alright?" Julie looked down at her soaked shirt and laughed nervously. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little wet."
Nick looked around and then gestured towards a door at the side of the room. "Come on, let's get you cleaned up. I think we have some merch shirts backstage."
Julie followed him, feeling a strange mix of embarrassment and curiosity. Nick led her through the crowded club and into a quieter backstage area where the band had their gear and a few spare shirts.
"Here, this should fit," Nick said, handing her a black t-shirt with the band's logo on it.
"Thanks," Julie said, taking the shirt. She hesitated for a moment, then ducked into a small dressing room to change. When she emerged, Nick was waiting with a warm smile.
"You look great," he said, nodding appreciatively at the shirt.
Julie blushed slightly, feeling the heat rise in her cheeks. "Thanks for this. And sorry again about the drink."
"No worries," Nick replied with a shrug. "Accidents happen. Besides, it gave us a chance to finally talk."
Julie smiled, feeling a strange sense of ease around him. "Yeah, I guess it did."
“How’d you end up here anyways?” Julie asked, curious about Nick’s presence at the concert.
“My brother is in Velvet Cascade,” Nick replied with a grin.
“Really! I just saw them; they were awesome!” Julie exclaimed, her excitement genuine.
“Yeah, my brother is the bass player. They sneaked me in as their roadie.” He says grinningly. “What about you? I know you’re definitely not eighteen either,” Nick said, a playful glint in his eyes.
“Well, no, but apparently I don’t have to be when there are fake IDs,” Julie admitted with a mischievous smile.
“Bad girl Molina, I wouldn’t expect you to be so rebellious,” Nick teased.
“Well, I’m not. This was actually all my best friend’s Flynn’s idea,” Julie confessed, shaking her head.
“Flynn? Well yeah, that makes more sense,” Nick chuckled.
“You know Flynn?”Julie asks with a curious look on her face.
“Well yeah, she’s in my calculus class and kinda hard to miss,” Nick said, laughing.
As they chatted, Julie found herself drawn to Nick's easygoing nature and genuine kindness. They talked about their family, music, school and it all just flowed effortlessly. For the first time in a long while, Julie felt a flicker of something new—an interest in someone other than Luke.
Julie gasped and her eyes widened. "Luke." In the course of her conversation with Nick ahe had forgotten all about him. Even though she had been harsh on the phone, it didn't feel right making him wait all this time. She had to find Flynn.
"Nick, I need to find Flynn," Julie said urgently. "Can you help me?"
"Of course," Nick replied, his concern evident. She could see he was taken aback by how stern she suddenly was after that easy going conversation.
As the crowd surged around them, Nick reached out and grabbed Julie’s hand to navigate through the crowded club. The pulsating music made it difficult to move quickly, but Nick’s grip was firm and reassuring. Julie felt a light blush coming on. Her heart was racing but on the other hand guilt was gnawing at her for leaving Luke waiting.
Finally, they spotted Flynn in the middle of a lively conversation with a well-known DJ. Flynn looked up, noticing Julie's worried expression.
"What happened to you?" Flynn asked, eyeing the new shirt.
"Long story," Julie said with a chuckle. "I'll tell you later."
Flynn grinned, giving Nick a nod of approval. "Well, looks like you're in good company. Hi Nick"
“Hey” Nick yells over the music with a quick wave.
"Flynn, I need to get home," Julie said, breathless. "Luke is waiting for me."
Flynn's eyes widened in surprise, but she quickly nodded in understanding. "Okay, Jules. Give me like fifteen so I can close this deal” she says with a look of determination.
Nick stepped in. "I can drive her home if you're both okay with that," he offered, glancing at Flynn.
Flynn smiled gratefully. "That would be great, Nick. Thanks."
Julie felt a wave of relief wash over her. She gave Nick a grateful look “Thank you” Then she turned to Flynn “Thank you for being the coolest friend ever and I will totally make this up to you” she rambles, giving her friend a quick hug. "It’s okay Jules, I'll see you tomorrow." She says before returning to her conversation as Julie and Nick made their way out of the club. The cool night air was a welcome relief from the heat and noise inside.
Nick led Julie to his car, a sleek black sedan parked a short distance away.
As they drove, the city lights flickered past, casting a soft glow inside the car. Julie's mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, but Nick's presence was comforting.
"So... you and Luke?" Nick asked after a few moments of silence.
Julie sighed, leaning back in her seat. "What about it?"
"Is he like your boyfriend?" Nick's tone was curious but gentle.
"No, he is definitely not my boyfriend," Julie replied, shaking her head. "Me and him grew up together. We've been best friends since we were like seven."
"Really?" Nick sounded genuinely surprised. "Well, good. I always thought you were an item. But this changes things."
Julie turned to look at him, curiosity piqued. "What do you mean?"
Nick smiled, his eyes glinting with a hint of mischief. "It means I have a chance to get to know you better."
Julie's cheeks flushed slightly, a mix of embarrassment and excitement coursing through her. "Oh," was all she managed to say.
Nick chuckled softly, the sound warm and reassuring. "No pressure, Julie. Just... I think you're pretty amazing, and I'd like to get to know you beyond the girl who accidentally spilled my drink."
Julie laughed, feeling a bit more at ease. "Thanks, Nick. I'd like that too."
The rest of the drive was filled with light conversation, Nick asking her about her interests and Julie sharing stories from her childhood. By the time they reached her house, Julie felt a sense of connection with Nick that she hadn't expected.
As Nick pulled up in front of her house, Julie spotted Luke waiting by her front steps, his expression a mix of relief and frustration. She turned to Nick, offering him a grateful smile.
"Thank you for the ride, Nick. I really appreciate it."
"Anytime, Julie," Nick replied, his smile warm. "I'll see you at school."
Julie nodded, stepping out of the car and walking towards Luke. As she approached, she could see the worry in his eyes.
Julie led Luke into the quiet sanctuary of her home, the tension between them palpable. The night had been a whirlwind of emotions, and Julie's mind was still reeling from the unexpected encounters and intense conversations. As soon as they were inside, Luke turned to her, his eyes flashing with frustration.
"Who the hell was that? I thought you were out with Flynn," Luke demanded, his tone harsher than he intended.
Julie rolled her eyes, her patience already wearing thin. "I was until you had to mess up the amazing time I was having and summon me here."
"Having the time of your life with that guy?" Luke shot back, his jealousy evident.
"What's it to you? You switch girls more than you do outfits," Julie retorted, crossing her arms over her chest.
Luke's jaw tightened, his fists clenching at his sides. "It's different, Julie, and you know it."
"How is it different?" Julie challenged, stepping closer to him. "You can't stand the thought of me being with someone else, but you don't want to commit either. You can't have it both ways, Luke."
"I care about you, Julie," Luke said, his voice softening. "I don't want to see you get hurt."
"That's rich coming from you"
Luke ran a hand through his hair, frustration etched across his face. "I know I've messed up, okay? But seeing you with that random guy—"
Julie interrupted, her tone firm. "You don't get to dictate who I spend my time with."
Luke threw his hands up in defeat. "Fine, fine!"
Julie turned away from him, her frustration evident as she grabbed the air mattress from her closet and began unrolling it on the floor. Luke watched her, his surprise growing with each passing moment. He was used to their routine—cuddling up on her bed, finding comfort in each other's presence. This was a stark departure from their usual dynamic.
"Are you serious?" Luke asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.
Julie shot him a determined look as she continued setting up the air mattress. "Yes! Boundaries, remember?"
Luke sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Julie, come on. This is ridiculous."
"No, what's ridiculous is you thinking you can have your cake and eat it too," Julie retorted, her voice firm. "You need to respect my boundaries, Luke."
Luke took a deep breath, trying to calm the frustration bubbling inside him. "I get it, okay? I messed up. But I care about you, Jules."
Julie paused, her hands stilling on the air mattress. She looked up at him, her eyes softening slightly. "I know you care, Luke. But caring isn't enough. You need to show me that you respect me and my choices."
Luke nodded slowly, his gaze steady on hers. "I do respect you, Julie. I just... I'm trying to figure this out. I'm trying to figure us out."
Julie sighed, her shoulders relaxing a bit. "And I appreciate that. But until you do, we need some distance."
Luke nodded again, the tension between them easing slightly. "Okay. I understand."
Julie finished setting up the air mattress and handed Luke a pillow and blanket. "Here you go."
Luke took them with a resigned smile. "Thanks."
Julie climbed into her bed and tried to get comfortable in it. She had to admit, it was always better to her when she was wrapped in Luke's arms. But she had to be strong.
"You know, it would help if you'd give me another pillow. I feel like that's the least you can do since you kicked me out of your comfortable bed," Luke said with a smirk. She didn't even have to look at him; she could hear his smug smirk in his voice.
Julie rolled her eyes but couldn't help the small smile that tugged at her lips. She grabbed another pillow and flung it at him with just enough force to hit him square in the head.
"Ouch!" Luke exclaimed, his eyes widening in mock hurt before a grin spread across his face.
Julie burst into laughter, the tension between them easing as Luke joined in. For a moment, it felt like old times—just two friends sharing a light-hearted moment.
"You're such a drama queen," Julie teased, wiping away a tear from the corner of her eye.
"And you're terrible at aiming," Luke shot back, chuckling as he adjusted the pillows and settled onto the air mattress.
“Ohh no, I definately hit my target” Julie retorts.
The laughter slowly faded, replaced by a comfortable silence.
"Did you have fun at least?" he asked, his voice softer now, lacking the earlier edge.
Julie smiled, thinking back to the club. "Yeah, it was amazing. I think you'd love it there. You should definitely check out if Sunset Curve can play there! Maybe Flynn has some connections."
Luke let out a small chuckle. "Well, that's hopeless. You know she hates me."
"Flynn does not hate you," Julie countered, rolling her eyes even though he couldn't see it.
"Feels like it sometimes," Luke muttered, a hint of a smile in his voice.
Julie shook her head, turning to face him. "She just gets protective of me, that's all. She doesn't actually hate you. You two just need to get to know each other better."
Luke sighed, staring up at the ceiling. "Maybe you're right. I could probably try harder with Flynn."
Julie nodded, even though Luke couldn't see her in the dim light. "Yeah, you should. And you should definitely talk to her about getting the band to play at the club. It would be a great opportunity."
Luke's eyes lit up at the idea, a hint of excitement in his voice. "You think so? Maybe I'll give it a shot."
"Definitely," Julie said, smiling at his enthusiasm. "It's worth a try. Plus, you never know what doors it might open for you guys."
"Thanks, Jules," Luke said softly, his tone filled with genuine appreciation.
Luke turned to face her, his expression serious. "And Jules... I'm really sorry about tonight. I know I overreacted. It's just I miss you-, these last four days have been so weird."
Julie turned slightly to face him. "Yeah, they really have..."
Luke sighed, his voice heavy with emotion. "I hate it. I just want things to be okay again. I miss how simple everything used to be between us."
Julie felt a pang of sadness at his words. She missed the simplicity too, but she knew they couldn't go back to the way things were without addressing the issues between them. "I miss it too, Luke. But we need to figure out how to move forward from here. We're not gonna be together despise these feelings and we're gonna have to be okay with that."
Luke nodded, even though she couldn't see him. "You're right. I know we need to talk about things and set boundaries, but it's hard. Setting boundaries feel like you're pushing me away. I don't want to lose you."
"You won't lose me," Julie said firmly. "We just need to learn to respect each other and our boundaries. We need to communicate better."
Luke reached out and found her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Thanks, Jules. For always believing in me, even when I don't deserve it."
"Always, Patterson. I got your back" Julie replied, her heart swelling with warmth. She squeezed his hand back.
They lay there in silence for a while, holding hands and finding comfort in each other's presence. Despite the turmoil of the past few days, this moment felt like a step in the right direction—a step towards healing and understanding.
"These feelings we have for each other," Julie said softly, breaking the silence, "they don't matter in the grand scheme of things. What we have is bigger than that."
Luke nodded, his grip on her hand tightening slightly. "So what do we do?"
"We put our feelings aside," Julie said, her voice resolute. "Keep the boundaries up and lose the awkwardness."
"Yeah," Luke echoed, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. "We can do this."
With a shared sense of resolve, they both let out a sigh, feeling a weight lift off their shoulders. The room fell into a comfortable silence, the only sound the soft hum of the city outside. As Julie lay in bed, she felt a sense of resolve. She knew that things wouldn't change overnight, but this was a start—Things might be complicated now, but they were working through it together. And with that thought, she drifted off to sleep.

Mix and Match
Luke x Female!Reader
Summary: You and Luke are dating, and one day, he and Reggie somehow switch lives, and everyone, including you, thinks Riggie is Luke and Luke is Reggie. (Based on the Elseworlds CW crossover episodes)
Tumblr media
Reggie woke in bed next to you, and he was baffled as to why that was because he knew that you and Luke were together. When you called him Luke, he was even more confused than he already was. So he went to Luke, who was in the studio and told him what happened. Alex walked in and said hi to Luke but was looking at Reggie. Luke gave Reggie the 'I think we Switched lives' look. When Reggie and Luke were alone, they tried to figure out why this was happening.
Luke: This can't be a coincidence. There-there has to be a reason behind this. Which means that someone is responsible. We need to know who... hey, can you... can you not do that?
Reggie: Man, what a total "Freaky Friday." No, wait, we didn't switch bodies. It's more of a "Quantum Leap." Where's a mirror?
Luke: Focus, just for a second, and take this seriously because the world thinks that you're Luke Patterson and that Reggie Peters and I would really like to know why.
Reggie: Totally.
Luke: Is that cool?
Reggie: Yes. I'm sorry.
Luke: Thank you.
Luke pulled out a photo which was of you and him, but it is now of you and Reggie, who you think is Luke.
Reggie: Weird.
Luke: Just, if you could... just for 90 seconds of seriousness.
Reggie: You gotta admit, this is a little cool. Besides, I woke up in bed with Y/N!
Luke immediately looked angry.
Luke: You woke up in bed with Y/N?
Reggie: Mm-hmm.
Luke: We have to fix this right now!
You, Alex, Flynn and Julie were now in the studio with Luke and Reggie.
Alex: Let me get this straight. You believe that you are not Luke Patterson, but in fact, he is?
Julie: Luke, did you ghost travel too many times again?
Luke: No, I didn't.
Flynn: She's talking to Luke.
Alex: Sorry.
Luke: I am Luke.
Julie: Yeah, and I'm Wild Dog.
You: Easy, Wild Dog.
Julie: Sarcasm.
You: It's not great sarcasm, Julie.
Flynn: Reggie's brain scan is perfectly normal, no signs of hypnosis or psychic interference.
Alex: Tachyon meters are clear, no one's screwing with the Timeline.
You: Guys, come on, this is crazy. I mean, there's no way that I could be dating Reggie Peters. Sorry, but babe, you know he's not my type, right?
Luke: Y/N, you really don't believe me? *scoffs* We're telling the truth. Okay? We're telling the truth. Something is very, very wrong with reality.
Reggie: Yeah.
Flynn: All right, Phantoms meeting. Not you, Luke and Reggie.
Luke: Th... uh...
You: I've only got eyes for you, you know that.
You give Reggie a kiss on the cheek as you leave.
Luke: I sw... if you touched her...
Reggie: I didn't touch her.
A while later, Luke and Reggie were sitting outside.
Reggie: All right, well, if our friend's not gonna help us, then we have to keep moving.
Luke: They'll help us, okay? They'll help us. We just gotta get... we just gotta get Y/N on board first.
Reggie: How... how are you going to convince her?
Luke: I'm not. You are.
Reggie: She's your girlfriend!
Luke: I know, Reg. I know, I don't... I don't like this any more than you do. You just gotta tell her how much you care about her. Tell her that she's the heart of your songs.
Reggie: I'm not... I'm not saying that.
Luke: Just say it. Trust me. It works every time!
When you realise which one of them is actually Luke, you feel like an idiot. When the two of them walked back in, you sighed.
You: Hey, Luke....Reggie.
Luke: You believe us now?
Flynn: Yeah, we all do.
Alex: Sorry we locked you up.
You: Luke, I'm sorry, if I had known, I-
Luke: Shhh, it's fine, you couldn't have known.
Reggie: So how are we gonna fix this?
Julie: Figure out what caused it, I guess.
You: Luke, can we talk outside?
Luke: Yeah, of course.
You and Luke walked outside of the studio, and you let out a sigh.
You: Luke, really, I-
Luke: Y/N, stop. Okay, you, couldn't have known, and-and besides, you know we always find our way back to each other. Y/N, you're the heart of my songs, all of them, so what if something like this mixes up, we'll always find our way back, we cool, huh?
You: *nods and giggles* Yeah, we're cool.
Luke: *smiles and kisses your forehead gently* I love you.
You: I love you, too.
