i think nico is more of a teasing ??? parental figure if that makes sense. you know like that set of images where the dad is dangling the kid by the foot while the other parent covers them w a towel and kisses their head thats the difference btwn nico and fernando. not to say fernando doesnt also tease but its only gently

nico is the guy who tells carlos that the monster under his bed is gonna get him if he sneaks out of bed to play his ds and that if he doesnt eat his vegetables hes gonna end up looking like guenther (this was meant as a joke by nico but legitimately scared carlos into eating his veggies for a week. nico and kmag both had a good giggle over it)

but despite all the teasing i think nico makes carlos laugh a lot !!! when nico is carrying him through the paddock and notices carlos is getting overwhelmed n stuff he’ll whisper little jokes about the other drivers to make carlos giggle and become more relaxed again. he’ll act out silly stories in silly voices using carlos’ meerkat stuffed animal and toy cars and lets carlos try on his too-big helmet and run around with it (until he inevitably trips and then nico will get scolded by fernando while they get ice cream to make carlos feel better)

Rora is having a full blown meltdown because mama and papa didn't take her to the zoo she saw in the photos and videos. It doesn't matter she wasn't even born yet , she wanted a koala hug too!

(But maybe, just maybe, that's when mick and mama ordered their little girl to the stock)

"Oh, what's in this one?", Aurora asked, opening a box with hard drives, "what are these?", she asked, "these are where me and mama keep our photos and videos that didn't make it to the printed albums", Mick explained, seeing you look for a specific one out of the box, "I want to show you this one, Rora", you smiled, grabbing the cable attached to the TV so Mick could play the photos and videos with the remote.

"So you got married and then you went on a trip just the two of you at the end of the season?", she wondered, not grasping the concept, "yes, we didn't go straight after we got married because if mine and papa's jobs, it just didn't work out. But we went later when we both had time. It's called a honeymoon", you said as the TV showed the photos of you went to the zoo. First, the video of Mick holding a snake, to which Aurora cuddled further into Mick's lap, "you were very brave, papa, I don't think I could do it", she whispered.

When a picture of you holding a koala came up, though, your little girl started to think about how unfair that you had been to the zoo and that she hadn't. "Why didn't you take me to see all of these animals? You saw koalas, and rhinos, and meerkats!! Look at how cute they are! I wanted to do that too!", she huffed, "Oh, is that a video? Oh, look, he looks so fluffy, mama! I wanted to hold a koala, too! And give her a big hug!", she pouted.

"Rora, you weren't even born yet, how could we have taken you?", Mick tried to reason with her as more pictures showed on the screen, the amazing memories from your honeymoon resurfacing.

But your daughter thought otherwise, "and I haven't seen Angie in the photos either!", she stated, getting up from her spot on the sofa and walking over to the dog whose ears shot up at the mention of her name, "so, since you didn't invite us to go with you, we're not watching this, right Angie? Let's go!", she called the dog as she walked up to her bedroom.

"Would it be a bad time to explain her how babies come from cells and she most likely was actually there with us, just in a form of a small bundle of cells with mine and your DNA that would've been days our hours old?", you smiled at Mick, laying your head on his shoulder as you looked at a picture you remember taking after having just woken up where you are laying on top of Mick, your noticeably naked back covered by the sheet facing the camera as Mick took the photo, "that was a good one, I remember", he kissed the top of your head, "how many times did we c-", he began before he was interrupted by his daughter, "me and Angie have agreed that we will forget that we were not invited to go to the zoo because Seb wasn't there either", she pointed to her sleeping brother in the bassinet, "so, can we see the rest? Oh look, there's a beach!", she pointed to the screen, scooting back to where she was sitting.

Even if Jae participated in writing the lyrics, I doubt he is the only lyricist. "No honey on the side" is not something a foreigner not very adept at another language would come up with. Koreans don't eat pancakes in the morning in diners.

The latter two also worked on "Roses", hm. Does anyone know a song database with official credits? I wonder about the order of names.

For those who wonder why so much "she", it's because it's not a song solely by Jae, but with his involvement. Also, in English it is harder to be vague. "Baby" can't be used multiple times and in all grammatical constructions. Plus, I doubt Jaehyun cares. He agreed to building up his straght image in the past (circa 2019). For some not singing about the sex you are not attracted to is important, for some it isn't.

Lots of high notes, low whispers and changes in ways of singing, heh. Jaehyun really likes to play with his voice and modulations.

It can be both an intentional reference and just a thematic coinsidence (America and lemonade stalls, lemonade as a refreshing drink=thirst quenching love).

With the involvement of so many roses, and same songwriters, the song seems to be tied to "Roses". A prequel?

Prada ad was subtle, just one phrase. BP do it more blatantly with Celine and Dior. Heh, shippers also remembered the Prada bag Do and his mom got when Jae became a BA. But I think it is more to do with Jae participating in Prada Music festival and the brand making a video for Jae's album. An exchange of favours.

The MV is simple but fun. A bit too shaky for me, enough of nice shots though. For such MVs its important for the lead to be able to act. Shot in one day, probably. Maybe one and a half, with a trip to the desert.

Thematically Jaehyun didn't deviate from his usual topic: life long love, the one, I'll be there by my love interest's side.

The URSA Awards 2024

Once again, I entered the URSA Awards competition and I would be extremely happy if you could support me with your vote.

My entries are: Neo (10cm/ 4") in category 1.

Neo was inspired by the famous quote "I know Kung-Fu". At first, I thought of a great panda. When they were talking about cat videos in the post credits of Matrix 4, I started asking myself if a cat wouldn't be the better choice for Neo?

Last year, the red pandas in our zoo had babies and I spend a lot of time at their enclosure. One day, there was a group of primary school kids, there, too. First, the teacher shouted: "Neo, come here", when Neo had finally arrived, she explained to the kids that red pandas are also called "Katzenbär" in German, verbally translated "cat bear".

And there was the solution for my creative problem: The red panda, also known as Katzenbär/ cat bear is the perfect animal representing Neo and i thought this would be perfect to celebrate both the anniversary of the first Matrix film and the 60th birthday of Keanu Reeves.

My second entry is Evi Meerkat (17 cm/ 6.8") in category 5.

Evi is entirely crocheted and the pattern (for left- handers) is available in all my stores.

Entry number three is Lokesh (8 cm/ 3.2") in category 12.

Lokesh is one of the two baby pandas who were born in the Zoo Karlsruhe last year.

When I heard the news I knew immediately that I had to make a baby red panda. Both Lokesh and Lalima are just adorable, but Lalime has more white in her face and so I decided to do Lokesh.

what's one of your favorite headcanons for your meerkat?

Okay so the lovely Meg sent me the exact same ask a while ago, and so I think I'm going to reserve my top favourite Sebastian headcanon for that post, just because it may be easier to find since it came from an account, and the headcanon I'm going to talk about is very special to me, and I'm super duper proud of it.

So for this ask instead, I've decided I'm going to list a few of my fave Sebastian hcs that I have! Some may be general, some are unique that I came up with, but either way I've realised that I tend to talk about my version of Sebastian a lot of discord, but not so much on here! So let's introduce you all to him.

Sebastian headcanons:

In my mind Sebastian is an only child, and a miracle child at that. For those who do not know, a miracle child is a surprise baby conceived and carried to term by a couple who were told having a baby would be borderline impossible. I think this hugely contributes as to why Sebastian is so spoiled, it's extremely hard not to melt over the son his parents never expected to have, and considering they have the funds to do so, they do exactly that.

(Have this from an edit video I made about Sebastian to fully explain what I mean 🙂)

(Oh I dubbed his parents Nathaniel Smythe, and Gabrielle (née Alarie) Smythe. We know his father’s canon job is a states attorney (and according to me, formally an international lawyer flitting between the Columbus and Parisian firm, where he specialised in finance) and I’ve always thought his mother to be a surgeon.)

I think Sebastian gets a lot of his mannerisms from his mother, his cold shoulder, his snark, his passive aggressiveness, it all comes from her. And always has. (They both find it comical when Sebastian is an adult, but as a child/teenager, they could argue about anything due to clash of personalities.)

His parents appreciate his talent in the arts, and made sure he explored all aspects of the craft at a young age. He took multiple styles of dance, had singing lessons weekly, and was even forced into learning an instrument (the violin) from a young age (the last of which he wasn’t very fond of.)

Growing up in Paris, while having family in the states, Sebastian struggled a lot with his childhood bilingualism. As a child he was merely upset by the prospect that he couldn’t hold a conversation with people in his family and their dislike for his bad communication skills, but as a preteen he would instead obsess over every little pronunciation when speaking in English, just to make sure it was absolutely perfect and he wouldn’t have to feel so degraded for something so basic. (I have an unpublished fic about this if anybody would like to read it.)

Equally, music and dance helped Sebastian a lot with his bilingual struggles, which is another reason he is so passionate about the hobby. It helped shape him in so many different way.

Sebastian’s favourite childhood TV show was Disneys ‘the house of mouse’, and he would always, without fail sing along, to the theme song.

When Smythe’s moved back to America indefinitely, Nate bought Seb a car because Seb was really upset and he wanted to make his son’s sadness disappear :( (Gabi’s like “girl what- 🤔🫣”

They 👏 love 👏 Kurt

Gabrielle warms up to Kurt a lot quicker than Nate does because he’s a protective father who doesn’t want Sebastian to get hurt (because he knows deep down Seb is a good person), whereas Jeff and Nick are like “what’re you talking about? Mr Smythe is lovely” to Kurt, who is petrified of.

Kurt has a clothing line named after Sebastian called ‘Simply Sebastian’ and yes that’s a nod to my old username. His little logo is an embroidered meerkat.

Who is the most overbearing person you know? Our landlord/family "friend." It's hard to call her that by now.

Are you happy with where you are relationship-wise now? In general yes, but I do wish Girt and I had more time with just each other, not sharing houses with parents. I do sometimes wish we had our own place already, but I'm also very understanding of why we don't, both from my side and his. Sometimes I just get impatient and feel like I don't get to be a real adult.

How many kids do you want to have? Realistically none, there is a thick-ass book of reasons why I should not have a child.

Did your parents do drugs when they were younger? I'm aware that Dad did while he was with Mom but before us kids were born.

What’s a favorite hobby of yours? RP. I want to branch off to more animal RPs, I've just had trouble finding places that aren't overly complicated or are my style.

I think a good source of therapy is… Journaling.

A friend who I can always be myself around is… I feel zero shame being fully myself around Tez and Mazzy. I think it's important to mention here that I KNOW I can be 100% myself around Girt, I'm just so wildly afraid of rejection/judgment/being seen as "weird" that I'm still sometimes needlessly hesitant. I've gotten better about it, though.

Something helpful to lose weight is… Not a very helpful response, but real talk, the most reliable "how to" I've found is to be in a good mental health state. My heaviest era took place during my saddest, and my healthiest weights post-initial mass weight gain came from periods where I was mentally well. NO, you do NOT need to be "okay" to lose weight, I'm just saying historically, that stood out for me.

A fear of mine is… Aside from the answers I normally give, for some variety, slugs. I'm very afraid of them just because of their sliminess and general texture. I will scream if I see one, and will NOT touch something one is on, even though I know how stupid that is, it's like I expect them to bolt up my arm when they're fuckin slugs, bro lmao. I want to overcome this fear, I actually think visually slugs are quite cute, and they're also helpful organisms that are just so harmless, but I'm so freaked out by them. It's funny, I'm not scared of snails at all; it's like put a shell on their back and suddenly the cuteness overrides the "ew slimy" reaction.

If you knew me well, you’d gift me… Anything meerkat-related, for sure. You could literally gift me a single Mountain Dew Voltage and I'll deem you a saint, haha.

Do you work better alone or in a group? ALONE. I was one of those students in school that was often allowed to work alone when things were meant to be group projects; my teachers liked me and also had faith in my ability to deliver, so they respected how I was comfortable working.

What are 3 essential items you won’t leave the house without? My phone and inhaler are the only real musts. I carry my wallet in my purse too (where my phone and inhaler are too), and it has important cards in there, such as my blood type in case of some wild emergency where I need a blood transfusion and I'm nonresponsive.

Do you enjoy spicy foods? I do.

What is something you want to be remembered for? I advocated for love and peace and kindness towards our planet and all that live in it.

Do you like pickles? I love dill pickles.

What is something you take a lot of pictures of? MY CAT lmfao deadass

What is your favorite thing about the beach? Being in the water. I'm one of those people that love being smacked (but not totally abused lol) by the waves, being tossled a bit and stuff. If reminds me how small I am, how inconsequential my ass is in the giant scope of the universe and even just this single planet. It's VERY freeing from anxiety, I just feel very peaceful when I'm in the ocean. I hate the salty wind, I hate the yucky sand and walking through it and having it stick to your wet body, but being in the ocean is an S-tier experience for me.

Are you afraid of snakes? Not at all, snakes are some of my favorite animals on the planet. Like sure, I'm going to be respectful to venomous species and give them space, but even those I'm not properly "afraid" of.

Do you think frogs are ugly? No, they're cuties!

Name three things that you find refreshing. A nice cold drink, a cool breeze, and the taste of mint.

What is your favorite vegetable? Broccoli or well-prepared green beans.

Do you own any succulents? No, just fake decorative ones. I'd kinda like to try taking care of a real succulent, so long as it was hardy. I don't have full faith in myself with taking care of plants.

What is your least favorite shade of green? That like, puke green color. bleh

Do you like olives? No.

What are three of your favorite insects (or insects that you think look cool)? Butterflies, moths, mantises. I wanna mention ladybugs too, they're so cute, but I think they've gotta come in 4th place.

Would you ever dye your hair green? I have done this before, like a mossy green color and I loved it.

Are you a tea drinker? I hate tea. Any kind I've ever tried.

Do you like mangoes? So I'm funny with mangoes. Mango flavor? It's one of my favorites! But the texture of real mangoes is so fucking repulsive to me, I can't eat them. I was SO disappointed when I tried one the first time.

What’s your hair texture? It's VERY thick. Smooth, I guess. Mostly straight, mild waviness.

Do you play games on your phone? Yeah, I enjoy PokemonGO, DragonVale, Dragons of Atlantis, and Amaru (it's a self-care pet but has "game" traits to it).

Is acting something you’d enjoy? Are you convincing? No, I would feel VERY uncomfortable.

In what ways are you immature? I am very attached to/reliant on my mother.

Your mom and dad are waiting in suspense for the kid to say their firs word, unfortunately it doesn't go like they hoped!

Dabi: Dabi and his wife were huddled around you, waiting in anticipation you'd been testing your volume and babbling when Dabi noticed you making a clear "Da" though his wife insisted she heard "Ma" so there they were crouching down to your level watching you excitedly.

"C'mon Firefly say "Dada" you were so close." while his wife chirped "C'mon baby I know you were saying "mama"" as your dad leered at her "Fat chance Fairy, it was clearly "Dada" your mom snorted. "No you need your ears cleaned she was saying "mama"" as your parents were going back and forth on each other they failed to notice there was visitor in the backyard.

You gasped eyes lit up like a Christmas tree at sight of a deer grazing in back lawn, you sat up and toddle passed your confused parents; happily bouncing as on your feet as you pressed your nose against the sliding door and cheerfully squealed "DOGGY!" both Dabi and his wife didn't know hurt the most, being outshined by an animal or that you got that animal wrong. "Say doll, you ever try venison?" Dabi hissed to your mom while eyeing your grandfather's old crossbow hanging on the wall...

Hawks: He had you sitting in you play-pen in his office you were happily babbling away, Which had Keigo feel giddy he knew you getting close to talking, you been using your voice a lot, and been attempting to parrot him. So far all you've bee able to muster was "Bir" and "Da" The blond wasn't sure if you were trying to say Birdy or dada, he be happy with either truthfully... He watched the little wings on you head flutter in frustration every time you tried to make a word. "Take your time baby-wings.~" he cooed as you struggled to say...

"SON OF A BITCH!" Keigo jumped when he heard one of his interns yell, his wings stood up on high alert as he looked at the open door to see a random woman looking down at her ruined water drenched blouse before noticing Hawks gawking at her, the woman though he was checking her out, (wet shirt see-through) causing her put on a flirty smile and took a bold step into his office.

"Bitch!" a tiny voice chirped, the number 2's eye twitched as he lowered his wing to show his little daughter in her playpen happily bouncing on her feet chanting. "Bitch, Bitch, Bitch!" the woman's face from flirty to horrified, as Hawks gave the intern a heated look that could melt steel. "Get out..." he snarled the woman looked about ready to piss herself as she ran out of your dad's sight, let's just say at the end of the day there was opening at agency.

Bakugou age 28: You were watching cartoons while your parents argued over your first word, Katsuki was insistent that your first word would be "daddy" while your was certain that she had heard you say mama, all their bickering was starting to upset you, and you were trying to watch Domo-Kun!

With the wrath of all your toddler might you turned to your arguing parents and bellowed. "SUT DA' HWELL UP!" they froze like statues and gawked at you in surprise as you huffed and went back to watching cartoons pouting with your arms crossed.

Bakugou looked at his wife stunned. "Don't look at me, that’s all you." your mom stated; she told him enough times to watch his language around you! the blond opened his mouth to protest but then closed it, she wasn't wrong... And it could've been soo much worst!

Shigaraki: He was dragged over to his babbling toddler by his wife who was talking so fast, he wasn’t able to catch what she was saying. "Could you repeat that, but in human please?" he huffed bemused why his player two was so riled up? "Y/n might be talking!" your mom said as Tomura tilted his head befuddled.... He’s never really gotten use to this whole parenting thing, was this important?

"Really... what is she saying?" His wife said she wasn't quite sure... she thinks it might be "dada" Your dad's red eyes widened, feeling an odd warmth in his chest. "Dada...me?" his wife giggled. "Well of course it's you, who else?" your parents and Kurogiri huddled around you waiting for you to repeat what you had said earlier, you were struggling voice it out.

 "d-d-di...Da!" you saw uncle Dabi walk in and with new found confidence yelled out "Grumpy!" there was awkward silence as Shigaraki slowly turned to look at the gawking cremator... "Uh...sorry?" the faux raven haired man said backing out of the lounge as your dad started advancing towards him...

Shoto age 26:  Your parents were having a BBQ and all their friends were there including Bakugou, who was pretty much minding his own business having a pretty decent conversation with Tenya when Denki accidentally spilled his drink all over the ash blond.

"Dunce-face what the fuck?" he snarled staring down at his ruined shirt as your dad came up to see what was going, neither of them noticing you standing behind Katsuki, until...

"Fuck!" you yelped causing your dad and uncle Bakugou and everyone else in at the party to stare at you horrified, as you repeated in cutesy sing-song voice. Izuku age 25:  He was helping his wife do the spring cleaning while you were corralled in the living room watching TV, both your parents would periodically check on you to make sure you were still there, as you'd become quite the little escape artist since you learned how to walk... Currently the channel you were glued to was showing funny animal videos... "Meerkat." you said pointing at the screen.

"That's nice Honey-bun..." Izuku hummed while cleaning out the fridge for any expired food, he was holding a bottle of Corn dressing when he blinked, that wasn't his wife's voice....it took a moment to for his mind to backpaddle, as he looked over at his toddler. "What did you say?" unsure if he heard right, you were sucking your thumb and pointed at the TV taking your thumb out of your mouth. "Meerkat." you say again pointing at the meerkat on screen...

Izuku gawked at you he was delighted cos. *Yay! my baby's first word!* but he was kind of sad cos it wasn't daddy or mama... He picked you up and brought you to your mom. " Honey I got a surprise!" he called wanting to see how his wife will react.... to this day your mom is still salty and insists your first words were "mama" and not Meerkat.

I hate when I point out how a video isn't actually that good and start talking about the exotic pet trade and people are like "they're probably rehabbers!"

If they are rehabbers letting a cat and a baby meerkat cuddle then they're shit rehabbers. This is definitely an exotic animal unethically kept as a pet.

I hate that animals will never know about the internet. its not even that they cant understand it they dont even have the opportunity to understand it cause it literally doesnt matter if u show them funny little videos on ur tiny computer box or not u still cant ever say "hey millions of other living things can see this right now too" and you cant ever say "that number right there means thousands of them enjoyed it", you just cant explain that to an animal, you cant, theres too much of a communication barrier. not to mention how so-very-human things like art likely dont translate at all to begin with, internet or no.

and why does this bother me? not a single capybara will ever know that theres capybara fans online making posts about them. every single capabara will die before knowing it has fan art of itself. when people leave comments on pet videos, that the pet in question is such a "cute good girl perfect baby deserves a hundred kisses", those compliments are only half delivered and never recieved. that pet will not - and can not - know that hundreds of human strangers love it so genuinely and loudly as they do.

no bird featured in a big screen nature doc will ever know how famous it is, none of those meerkat manor meerkats ever possibly knew how public their lives really were, and when a horse stars in a movie it doesnt ever know how many golden globes it won.

animals, besides humans, will never ever in a million years understand the internet or how videos work or what fame is or how the world is Big. and in most cases their world is their home town only and nothing more.

and Ill cry about it for a thousand years because just once Id like to show a capybara fanart of itself and I'd like to make a wish to a genie: "let this creature now understand how loved it is", and in that moment I want that capybara to see what that peice of art means and what those likes mean and I want it to be the most loved capybara in the world. thank u.
