Jimmy, Tango what was it like (and I’m assuming here) asking Scott out? Actually, how did you all get together in the first place, considering, y’know, the ex-husband thing.

Tango: "This is a fun question..." *Tango's face turns a hue of red*

Jimmy, trying not to laugh at Tango's silly blushing: "It's been clear that Tango's had the hots for my husband for seasons now."

Scott: "EX-husband!"

Jimmy: "Right. To answer the whole ex-husbands thingy for you, Anon- It's... really complicated. First of all, Scott and I were never really married in the first place-"

Scott, glowering: "Choose your words carefully, Solidarity..."

Jimmy: "Yeesh, alright, alright. Since we were never officially married, the husbands title was kinda inaccurate. Then I died, and made Scott a widower. Then in Last Life it was just easier to say we were ex husbands rather than Scott is my widower lover from 3rd life who can barely remember what we meant to one another so he decided to ignore my existence to escape the pain."

Scott, cheerfully: "And then when I won and got all my memories back, I fell in love with him all over again~"

Tango, sighing: "Which caused a lot of unnecessary drama within the first 5 minutes of Double Life."

Jimmy: "So when the two of us became soul mates, and eventually started dating, Tango kept denying he had feelings for anyone but me."

Tango: "How else are you supposed to deal with feelings for your boyfriend's EX?"

Jimmy: "Before I could clue Scott in on this, he sort of..."

Scott: "Held a sword to Tango's throat for killing the both of them in the first 10 minutes of the episode."

Tango, rolling his eyes: "Don't forget the most important part!"

Scott: "... And then after a very heated conversation, I kissed him and stormed off."

Jimmy: "I had to sit through a very looooong season of this back and forth stuff."

Tango: "Admitting your crush on someone is hard enough when they aren't constantly threatening your life!"

Scott: "I had a lot on my mind!"

Tango: "Doesn't change the fact the the first few moments we ever spent alone together were when you hated me more than anything in this server."

Scott, rubbing the back of his neck guiltily: "... I don't know what I was thinking then. I... I'll explain it to both of you once you start retaining your memories, okay? A lot of my issues last season stemmed from them."

*Tango's face scrunched with concern, but he nods*

Jimmy: "Don't feel pressured to say or do anything, Scott. Nobody can blame you for how these games mess with a person's head, okay?"

Scott, shaking himself: "Yeah, of course... Uh, where were we?"

Tango: "We spent an entire season torturing Jimmy with our back and forth will they won’t they act?"

Scott, laughing a bit: "Yeaaah. But you eventually told him about our flirting."

Jimmy: "Even though I was already 10 steps ahead of both of you."

Tango, leaning his head on Jimmy's shoulder: "Yup. As soon as the season was over, this handsome bird asked me out on a date, and handed me off to Scott with zero warning."

Scott: "We hit it off better than we ever could have thought, especially since most of our pining was amist the literal death games. We went on 2 dates, plus 3 more with Jimmy before these two asked me to be their boyfriend~"

*without warning, Tango reaches over and yanks Scott into a kiss*

Tango: "We're the luckiest ranchers in the world, Scott."

*Jimmy silently wraps his wings around his lovers*

I came up with a cute little ranchers au recently and I just have to share it! (I’ll probably turn it into a fic or maybe even a comic, but I’m still recovering from writers block so that’ll happen later on)

Tango lives in a small town called hermitcraft. Admitely though, he’s quite isolated and doesn’t have many friends, mainly because he’s a blaze and some people fear him for it. The other reason is because he often fears burning people accidentally from not being able to keep his temper in check. One day, he goes into the forest to find something (haven’t really decided on what) and stumbles into a flower field inhabited by an avian named Jimmy. He is also quite lonely, sure he has his brothers but they don’t visit often, he basically only has his cat Norman to keep him company most of the time. He seems excited to meet Tango and slowly afterwards, the two become closer and closer as he continues to visit his new found friend :)

so that’s the basic concept! You can interpret this idea any way you want, I don’t really care, but I personally intend it to be a queer platonic story (look I love romance but platonic shipping has my heart forever <3)

like I said I’ll likely make this into a fic, but until I fully recover from writers block, I’ll probably just post a bunch of cute art for this au on tumblr!

Summary:

The last thing Scott remembers seeing was Pearl’s look of shock and horror. The last thing Scott remembers thinking, was how fun it’ll be to finally get his memories back and talk endlessly with his friends about how well their game went. Scott’s health reached zero. His world went dark. He opened his eyes. — Or, in order to keep things interesting and unpredictable during the traffic games, Grian thought it’d be a good idea to have the memories of everyone’s past relationships erased before the start of each session. So far, every previous session has been a blast. But things become complicated at the end of double life when Scott realizes that his boyfriend in the real world went out and got a whole other boyfriend during the game. All while having no memory of him. The next upcoming life game is sure to be an awkward one…

ok this is the first fanfic I publish, I would like to clarify some points before: 1- this fic has adult themes like sadism, psychological disorders and mention to sexual activities so if you don't like these themes please don't read it, it's not graphic at all, but I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable, so if you are under age, go your way. 2- I don't know anything about grammar and spelling, on paper and pen yes, but I can't on a computer and even less on my phone, I don't know why, I just know I'm a failure. 3- I don't intend to offend anyone and much less, this is something that came to me and nothing more, please take it easy if you get to read it. 3- this fanfic is full of clichés, psychological disorders and a lot of humiliations and mistreatment to Legend, Wild and Hyrule because of their appearance, their way of dressing and behaving, this is something that I have lived in my own flesh and it is a relief for me. 4- sincerely it's a bad story, so please I beg you for patience and understanding, I'm not good at writing fanfics and even less at spinning plots, without more to say, here is the first chapter. Chapter:1 The group had encountered the shadow and the battle was leaning in favor of the heroes.

But that Lizalfos noticing that he was about to fall, opened a dark portal to flee, thus began a heated chase through a huge meadow riddled with greenery, blue skies and structures like barricades and guard posts covered with grass, flowers and small bushes. Twilight was on Epona, he moved faster than the rest of the group to catch up. He shot arrows, but they were not enough to stop him, until they reached some stairs that led to a kind of temple, the rest of the chain followed him on foot, as they would not let their brother face that threat alone; the next to arrive was Legend, who thanks to his Pegasus boots ran almost on par with the mare.

Twilight: Ready to have some fun Legend,” he asked. Legend: You know I love disemboweling lizards,” answered the hero of the legends with a sadistic and acid touch in his voice. It was time to end it all, Legend pounced on his enemy with a unique killer instinct among heroes. The brothers moved fast, releasing slashes and cutting some scales, but the shadow seemed faster, smarter and much more powerful, with a whip of his tail, he managed to disarm the rancher, but luck would not be with him for long, because the rest of the team arrived at last, with Time at the head, followed by Hyrule and the captain. He was at a numerical disadvantage, he could fight two, maybe three of those blessed by the goddess, but nine? even Ganon wouldn't have a chance against something like that, so he opted for retreat, he jumped to the top of the stairs to reach the atrium of the temple, where he opened another dark portal, Wind and Four went after him, but when they arrived, the dimensional arch disappeared with blue and purple flashes, revealing the immense evil that the creature kept.After the chase, Hyrule tended to the wounds of Twilight and Legend, the captain looked around, his face covered in sweat from the race, with his sword and shield hanging from his hands. He left his eyes wide open, moving his head to one side and the other, as if looking for something, he climbed the stairs until he reached the end, where Wind and Four were, ignoring them as he advanced to the entrance of the building with a radiant smile, he knew that place, it was a temple dedicated to the great fairy, one of many that existed around the kingdom, he was at home.

Wars: Wind, Four go get the others, tell the traveler not to exhaust himself and not to use potions, we have everything we need here. Four: Wait captain, the lizalfos escaped, we're trapped here-. Wars: Don't worry, I know, but we can't do anything else until another portal appears. Wind: That's right, there's nothing left. Wind approached and pulled Four by the arm, he was worried about Sky, who had received an arrow in the arm and, even so, continued fighting without complaining, so they left only the major, who, after making sure that the boys were far away, opened the doors of the temple, to talk to the great fairy…

After a few minutes, all the squad was healed, not a single scratch was left unhealed. Wild: The great fairy of this time is much better than the ones I know. Wild: I'm sorry, I'm sorry-his cheeks turned a slight reddish color, Time looked at him with disapproval because one of the rules that had been established since they left Lon Lon Ranch was no adult chatter in front of the younger ones, Wind and Four who were only 14 and 13 years old. Twilight: What do we do now? Shall we set up camp here? Wars: No need rancher, we are on my time, so we can go to the castle and look for my princess, she will give us what we need.

Hyrule: Do you think he really wants to help us? Hyrule got up from the step where he had sat next to his predecessor. Wars: Of course, now the castle is a 15 minute walk away, so we won't have any problems getting there. Legend: Hey, wait soldier, don't you think we should take it easy? You're not even sure if your princess is here, what if she went on some diplomatic mission or something? -Legend stood up as if he had a spring in his back, no way would he set foot in that damn castle.

Twilight: He has a good point, we don't know if she's even in the citadel, it would be best to inform us first Wars- Twilight said, supporting Legend, since they had recently started to be closer, maybe not as much as with the champion or with Hyrule respectively, but they had gained a mutual trust, after the accident of her pendant and the pink rabbit form, the bonds were getting closer and closer. Sky: I say that while Wars and I go to investigate, the others wait for us here- suggested the hero chosen by the goddess and so it was done.

Interest Check Results

For those of you who love some good data, here are the results of the Interest Check for the Hermitshipping Big Bang 2023 from 151 responses.

“On a scale of 1-10, how interested are you in participating in a Hermitshipping Big Bang/Reverse Big Bang?”

The most common answer was 8/10 (32% of all respondents). Only 8% of respondents ranked their interested at 5/10 or below. From this, we concluded that there was more than enough interest to warrant running the event!

“Between a Big Bang (writers create first) and a Reverse Big Bang (artists create first), which type of event would you prefer?”

While the plurality of respondents did not have a preference one way or another, of the respondents that had a preference, about twice the respondents said they would prefer a Big Bang (38.7%) than those that said they would prefer a Reverse Big Bang (20%). From this data, we chose to officially make this event a Big Bang. Depending on the outcome of this event, we may consider running a Reverse Big Bang in the future.

“Which roles would you be interested in participating as?”

Many respondents indicated that they would be interested in participating in the event as multiple roles. We are extremely hopeful for all the new fanworks this event will bring to the Hermitshipping tags!

“What fic lengths would you be most interested in creating (writers) or creating art for (artists)?”

The majority of respondents said they were interested in creating or creating art for fics under 20,000 words, putting the majority of fics in Tier 2 or below. Several respondents expressed interest in 50,000+ word fics, which means some fics may end up in Tier 6 and above!

“Which ratings would you be comfortable working with?”

Nearly all the respondents are comfortable working with works rated for Teen Audiences and over half said they would be comfortable working with works rated for General Audiences and Mature Audiences. Over a quarter of the respondents were comfortable working with Explicit content.

“Which ships would you be most interested (i.e. top 3) in creating for?”

Respondents expressed interest in a total of 86 different ships—wow! Here’s a look at just the 15 ships with the highest total interest score. For anyone interested in the complete data, please see the extended graph here.

Desert Duo took the top spot with Team Rancher hot on their heels; Ethubs, Treebark, and Flower Husbands round out the top 5.

As a note, the interest score is just a tally of how many times each ship was submitted by respondents as something they would be interested in creating for. This tally was then sorted based on whether the respondent expressed that they would like to participate as a writer or as an artist (and in the case of respondents who wanted to do both, their ships of interest were counted towards both tallies).

This data provides a great overview of the general spread of ships that folks are enthusiastic to create for! It should be noted that these interest scores are not the expected number of creations for each ship—these scores are just to gauge the overall interest level in each ship.

Just for fun, we also tallied which characters appeared most frequently amongst respondents’ ships of interest!

The submitted ships featured a total of 40 different characters. Here is just the top 15, but for the complete data you may view the extended graph here.

Closing thoughts

This is already shaping up to be a vibrant and lively event with lots of interest from both writers and artists! We can’t wait to see what everyone creates <3

Flower Husbands or Ranchers

Ranchers.

idk why but I feel like they just work better, I might be a little biased tho considering double life is my favourite season.

I used to be a huge flower husband shipper becuz of empires, but that’s kind of faded out of me (they are still pretty cute in empires s1)

honestly, I actually want more fics where Scott and Jimmy are just good friends, I feel like I barely see fics about ranchers where Scott and Jimmy are also friends.
