#It IS pretty similar to html which I have a little experience with. And the biggest setback is mostly drawing 40+ sprites of the same guy

The council will decide your fate... I'm utterly obsessed with this thing thank you op
✨LOOP CRITTER SHIMEJI!✨
IT'S FINALLY DONE!!!
Finally, you can have a critter of your very own! Or 50 of them! Your call!
Looplet features a couple more traits than your standard shimeji, including some interactions, a hotspot (so you can pet them) and adjusted chances for various animations to play. Ultimately, they'll make doing anything on your computer 5x harder by running around and distracting you constantly :)
This shimeji contains vague spoilers for lategame In Stars and Time, but you can probably get away with using them if u haven't finished the game, since they are so so vague. Still, be mindful of this if you care about spoilers!
To use the shimeji simply download, unzip, make sure you have Javascript 8 installed, and doubleclick the jar file inside the folder! If you have any other issues running the shimeji, please consult the readme txt inside the folder.
ALSO! If you encounter any bugs while using the shimeji, please let me know! Editing the code was a bit nightmarish (there's so little documentation online) so it's a bit held together with duct tape and I wouldn't be surprised if anything went wrong. As a side note, yes the 'dragging' animation will delete one of the looplets if cloning is disabled, unfortunately there's nothing I can do about that one 😔
In any case… have fun, everyone!

okay! this took a bit to type out, but here we are!
disclaimer: my way might not work for you and that’s okay! there’s no right or wrong to make gifs, so long as you enjoy the way you make them then that’s all that counts. this is only a detailed look into my own personal process and things i’ve learned along the way. i'm also an idiot who sometimes doesn't know what he's talking about, so if something doesn't make sense let me know so i can fix it!
but these are some of the things i'll be going into a little more detail than before:
tools
importing & converting to smart object
smart filters
coloring (lighting, basic, and gradient)
exporting
tools
there are a few things i use in the process, some new and some old. whether you want to use them is entirely optional, given that it can be a lot to take in at once.
photoshop 2024
if you use an older version of photoshop, then i think the layout is similar to newer versions. though iirc some older versions don’t have the timeline function so you might have to look that up yourself since i’m not familiar with any ps version without it.
handbrake
i only use handbrake if the recorded video is super long. usually i try to record each scenery shot (4-8 seconds at a time) or an entire cutscene so i don’t have to use handbrake to trim the video. if i do, then i have the settings set to export as super hq with 60 fps, deselecting align a/v start and passthru common metadata. the rest i leave alone.
vapoursynth
this is really useful and makes coloring easier imo. you can download it from the official site, but i found a portable version (i have the 200722 one) for windows here. i’m not sure how to set it up for mac users, and, truthfully, to this day i still don’t know how to use it entirely. i just followed a tutorial i i found on youtube and only changed the amount for the denoise filter and turned off the sharpen filter since i do that in photoshop itself. so it’s trial and error, and i’m erroring a lot sometimes ajdkjasvjdas. it’s also where i crop the video to my preferred dimensions, unless you choose to crop in ps.
jsfiddle code playground
if you want to have the text in the tumblr post be a gradient, then type whatever you want in the first box on the bottom right, change the color from red to your starting color of choice, then the same of the green for the ending color. hit run, copy the code, and paste it inside the text post while in html mode. ngl, i stared at the site for like ten minutes before i figured out how to use it asjdjasdasd
nvidia shadowplay
i use shadowplay since it comes with my laptop’s gpu, set to record in 1080p60. i’ve seen other giffers use obs for recording, but i don’t have any experience with it. there are scenepacks and gameplay walkthroughs on many sites, which you can use as long as you have the uploaders permission and credit them as they ask! please don't steal their videos!
reshade
i’ve started using reshade recently to tone out the blue tint of the game and sharpen it up a bit more. it makes a big difference and helps with coloring if you start out with near neutral colors. the effects i use are: • deband • clarity • sharpcontrast • emphasize • amd fidelityfx contrast adaptive sharpening • fxaa • prod_80_04_colorisolation • adaptivetonemapper i'm pretty sure some of these are redundant, but i’m too lazy to go back and see which ones i don’t need lol. but it’s all personally preference with how you want the game to look, and there are many effects to choose from.
importing & converting to smart object:
my preferred method is the video frames to layers, which is: file > import > video frames to layers, and then select the video. if you use vapoursynth, then there might be duplicates frames (or at least there are for me) so when the popup window appears i check the box to limit the frames to how ever many duplicates there are of each frame. usually in my case, it’s three.
after the video has been imported, i select all frames in the timeline and change the frame delay to either 0.03-0.04 depending on how fast or slow i want the gif to be. for converting to smart object, i recorded my own action set to save time by clicking on a couple of buttons, but the process is: select all layers currently > convert frame animation > convert to smart object.
let me know if you want the action set! it saves a lot of time in the process
smart filters
i don't think sharpening before or after coloring matters, but definitely do not sharpen before cropping if you haven't done already.
vapoursynth combined with the in game reshade sharpening effects doesn’t require as much sharpening as i normally use. just note that it varies from scene to scene, and whatever you're giffing. these are just the settings i used for the pirates’ cove set.:
smart sharpen #1: 500% with a radius of 0.2 px
smart sharpen #2: 10% and 10 px radius
gaussian blur: 0.7 px at 30% opacity
add noise: 1% uniform at 30% opacity
Tumblr media
on to the coloring, which i'm breaking this up into three sections: lighting, basic coloring, and gradient coloring, with a brief description and the result after each section.
something to note is that all coloring is personal preference, and how you want your gifs to look. if you're just starting your giffing journey, here's a site i bookmarked that explains pretty well the adjustment layers and what they do if you have questions for how they work. but i'd be more than happy to answer any that you guys have!
lighting:
brightness/contrast:
with this, i’ve found that changing the blending mode to screen brightens it up well enough without having to move any on the sliders. if it’s too bright, then lowering the opacity should do the trick.
curves:
before, i used the white and black point with the eyedropper tool, but now i’ve started using the auto function that can be found in the four horizontal bars in the top right of the adjustment properties. i choose the find dark & light colors options and check the enhance brightness and contrast box. if it’s too bright or tinted too much one color, then i fiddle with the rgb curves individually to get it as neutral as i can.
levels:
with levels there’s not much to adjust other than moving the sliders for the shadows and midtones to give it a little more contrast.
Tumblr media
basic coloring:
selective color #1:
for the first selective color set to absolute, i use it for the white/black colors to make them as white and black as possible. increasing the black can make it too dark, so i limit the increase by two or three. sometimes i change neutral if it needs it, after all the coloring is done if it still looks too much of one color that the other adjustment layers can’t fix. i don’t know exactly what the difference is between absolute and relative is, i just remember it being part of a tutorial i read and have been doing it ever since.
color balance:
i only change this as minimally as possible, usually one for cyan, one for magenta, and one for blue for all tones. sometimes i increase it more, but it all depends on how you want it.
selective color #2:
the last selective color i use it for all the other colors, set to relative, usually for reds, yellows, and blues. if there are people in the gif, then i focus mostly on skin tones, bringing out reds and yellows to make it look as natural as possible. a hue/saturation layer can be useful to even out darker skin tones by lowering the saturation for red or yellow. with scenery, i boost whatever dominate color pops up while lowering the other colors by adding in a lot of white if the lighting is bright, or adding black for dim scenes. again, if it needs it, adding in an optional hue/saturation layer, but this time to lower the saturation for less prominent colors.
Tumblr media
gradient coloring:
if you’re satisfied with the coloring of your gif, then this step can be skipped!
i’ve recently fallen in love with using gradient fills. there are several preset gradients available, but if you search around online there are other gradients available to download and use. or you can make your own gradient of your colors of choice.
for me, i often use blue/pink or blue/purple gradient fills. the blue/pink preset is the one i used in this case.
gradient fill:
after adding the gradient fill and choosing the colors, i change the blending to soft light and lower the opacity anywhere from 30%-50%. with darker skin tones it might be tricky as it would involve more tweaking of the settings until it looks nice.
gradient map:
i follow it up with a gradient map to help with the sharpness (i think? i’ve forgotten exactly) set to soft light again with varying opacity given how dark the scene is.
vibrancy
this is completely optional here, but i like the colors cranked to the max, boosted to 80% or slightly lower. some minor adjustments might have to be made after this, usually with it being too red or possibly yellow.
exposure
the final adjustment layer to top it all off is exposure. i like my gifs to have a matte-ish look, so i change the offset anywhere from +0.0010 to +0.0030. if the gif is still a little on the dark side, increasing the exposure helps.
the gradient coloring takes the longest to get the colors to look good, but i love my colors so much and the end result is so worth it.
Tumblr media
logo:
this is optional of course, but since there's quite a few people out there who love to steal gifs, it's probably a good idea to put your logo on the gif to help deter them. mine's simple and uses either the font code bold or moon. i have it saved as a png so that i can go to file > place embedded and resize it to my liking before moving it to the bottom right corner.
but for me those are too many steps to do for each gif, especially if i’ve been working on them for hours. so i open up an old psd with the same dimensions and duplicate the logo layer for each gif to save time.
exporting:
under file > save for web (legacy) the window for it should pop up. i don't usually mess around too much with the settings here, keeping it at selective diffusion and changing the matte to none.
sometimes the size will be too large for tumblr's limit since i like bright colors, and depending on how many frames are in each gif, most of them end up on the large side. i have to fight photoshop sometimes to make it work by either trimming a few frames or messing slighting with the lighting. occasionally i end up having to go back and reimport the videos to divide the frames equally if i don't want to trim any off. it’s a pain, and it’s something i should honestly try to plan out before that point lmao.
but if you're satisfied with how it looks, save, and you're good to post!

An aimless rambly post about in-browser Pythons, with the approximate theme of:
I think I'd recommend PyScript at least as much as Brython for quick practical Python-in-the-browser web development if you don't really need to optimize performance.
PyScript is much more "heavy" since the underlying Pyodide is a full compile of CPython to WebAssembly, plus libraries, one of which gives it a built-in ability to download modules from PyPI from within the Python running in your browser. The heaviness and slow load time used to annoy me, but it buys you much more compatibility and certainty of compatibility with CPython.
The killer feature for me is being able to just import most packages that you might want to use without any of the hassle of "how do I get this into the browser?". Just `await micropip.install(foo)` in your browser-side Python code before `import foo` and you're good to go. Python has always been the language you reach for, first and foremost, when you strongly prefer to optimize for developer time+work instead of computer time+work, or when you want a great ability to tinker or modify code in situ. And doing something resembling "pip install" in the browser is very much a good example of that.
Right now, if you wanted to use one of my Python modules on Brython and you didn't know where to start, I'd have to write several sentences - grab the source, put it over there, maybe run the right brython-cli command to bundle it. If you want to use one of my Python modules on PyScript, you just grab it from PyPI with micropip and it just works (barring some edge cases which I recently helped them fix, which is in micropip v0.2.0 already and should be coming to Pyodide in v0.22).
One thing I liked about Brython is that it ships with some quality-of-life improvements for manipulating the DOM through its `browser` module, which tries to provide some ergonomics that you can't get in JavaScript for lack of operator overloads and the like. But PyScript has a good enough FFI to JavaScript that we can just start with the DOM manipulation that we would do in JavaScript, and then code whatever Python ergonomics we want around it (which could then just be uploaded to PyPI).
I also have mixed feelings about how PyScript gets all over the HTML namespaces - tags like `<py-script>` and `<py-config>`, attributes on HTML elements like `py-onclick` or whatever, that kind of thing. It's adding complication/coupling/non-orthogonality to buy a little developer experience friendliness. It feels fine now but I expect it'll prove clunky and annoying over time in various little ways - although to be fair, that's a problem that in part requires browsers and web standards to solve, and once that's standardized it shouldn't be too hard to migrate.
PyScript load times and download size can be pretty bad, but they're working on it. Admittedly an inherently hard problem, but I still think in the long term that gets solved out-of-band. Anecdotally, comparing the Brython website's demo REPL and the Pyodide (which PyScript uses) website's demo REPL, Brython loads perceptibly faster. But I haven't done any hard thorough measurements for real-world websites. For example, Brython lets you build a .js file with just the modules you're using, while the REPL on their website includes the whole standard library just in case. I'm not sure what PyScript's story is for that, but the out-of-band solutions are obvious and similar - bundlers and so forth.
Thing is, if you're really angling for performant Python-in-browser, you either transpile Python to JavaScript (something like Transcrypt, trading some semantic/feature consistency for speed), or you compile your Python to WebAssembly (conceptually something like Cython+Emscripten, but I haven't tried it or looked into how to actually do it) - and if you do that last thing, well incidentally you can upload that as yet another pre-compiled WASM wheel to PyPI which can then be used with PyScript too. And that looks a lot like the modern Python world where CPython speed is fine and if it isn't you compile the hot path Python code into native code.
Just like the Python of old, it will be one of the slower languages on the block for a while. Longer start up or page load times, more memory usage, more overheads all over the place just in case you're using the dynamic flexibility at execution time. That's fine. Humanity used Python twenty years ago, and it was fast enough for many uses. Today I think PyScript is in a similar boat. It will be slow, at first. That's fine. People will use it when they need to go fast, when the productivity or expressiveness or flexibility benefits of Python matter more than the fact that the page took a little while longer to load. Especially since you might be writing a web page that gets opened once and then stays open for hours or days on the user's computer.
Slowly but surely the automatic optimizations will catch up, and in the meantime, PyScript seems like the best contender for the cases where you want Python, not almost-Python but really Python, in the browser.

hi! i'm doing a presentation on the impact and community of tumblr for my media studies final and i wanted to reach out to my mutuals and fav blogs with some questions that relate to my topic. i would so totally love and appreciate if you could answer some of these for me.
it would be so totally rock and roll and awesome and amazing and i'll literally love you forever and ever and ever! :)
thank you thank you thank you!!!!
the questions:
1. how is tumblr different from other social media platforms?
2. how has the tumblr community affected you as a person/online presence?
3. do you feel more inclined to post more personal or private aspects of your life and or opinions on tumblr rather than other apps? as in do you feel you are less likely to be judged on tumblr than other platforms?
4. what are your favorite aspects of tumblr?
5. what would you do if tumblr got shut down?
6. what are some things that only tumblr bloggers would know/understand?
or
7. are there certain traditions on tumblr that you think other media sites wouldn't understand?(an example being our site wide celebration of the ides of march)
8. what are some of the largest fandoms/inner communities on tumblr? are you apart of these fandoms/communities? if yes, what is that like for you?
9. do you find tumblr to be educational in terms of academics? among other things such as politics and general life experiences?
10. all in all, how has this app changed your perspective on social media, the world, your life, and so on.
please add anything else you find to be important!!
aww im honored!
To be truthful, I don't spend much time on any other social media, so I don't have much experience! But in comparison with insta and pinterest, there's far less reason to use the for you tab. Obviously staff has pushed it in recent updates, but it still holds true, at least for me. I think a big draw for me is the built-in customization in general, with tools for making personal blog themes and post tools.
Since I don't use anything but Tumblr, It can be a little hard to connect with my peers who use Twitter or Snapchat, as we don't really have many other ways to connect outside of e-mail or text, which I think have fallen off in popularity with the rise of social media.
I think Tumblr satisfies my parasocial needs pretty well! I think because of the customization you can accumulate a following that's pretty chill. And if there are weirdos, you can block them very easily.
I've prattled on and on about about how cool customizing most aspects of your experience here is, but to reassert my love for it: When customization goes; I go.
While I have some experience with HTML, I might not make my own website on Neocities or a similar platform. I would probably make a Pintrest again. But if they make it so you can register an e-mail to a Neocities domain I'd be down.
I think Tumblr users like to self-aggrandize so I think most of our traditions and mechanics could be understood by other platform's users... Though maybe a lack of algorithms? I hear a lot of people talking about for you pages on other social media. But again, Tumblr's pushed the for you tab instead of the dash, so I'm not sure that's going to be a distinction for much longer...
8. I don't participate in fandom so I wouldn't know! That's not to say that I don't ever see anything from fandom, but really I'm not sure if I'm missing out on anything. I'm content with the content I do see. I guess you could say I'm part of the "My friends" fandom ^-^.
9. While there's plenty of academic discussion on Tumblr, I don't think there's a replacement to more genuine methods of education. However, there have been things I've been informed of through Tumblr, such as posts summarizing and linking news articles, scientific journals, etc. and methods of accessing them (such as 12ft). In that regard, I suppose that Tumblr has been a fine source of education and keeping up-to-date, though it's far from perfect.
10. I think being able to curate my experience has helped make me less tolerant of ads, weird posts, and other distractions. But I think the greatest impact it's had on me has been all the friends I've made.

sorry if this has been asked before, but how did you find the switch from cscript to twine/harlowe? i've always wanted to make the jump myself. it is a little intimidating, being someone with no programming experience. but at least it has applications outside of interactive fiction since it involves you learning HTML
It was tricky, there's no denying that. Twine's codingformats do allow for much more than cscript which makes them a bit intimidating, but it is possible to have it be pretty similar in both coding and looks. E.G. cscript's multireplace can be done remotely similar in twine (both harlowe and sugarcube).
in short, it's tricky and requires patience but it's not impossible to switch without too much a hassle.
(that said, I -do- wish the whole mess with CoG would clean up, because cscript is still more accessible both in coding and reading)

Dead Internet.
Recently, my twitter's been flooded with bots, some related to Vtubing, although the majority are just the P|U|S|S|Y I|N B|I|O kind.
And while twitter at its current state probably shouldn't be taken as the main example, it really does give an intense platform to see the Dead Internet theory in full action.
It does feel rather sad to say that about half of my following are bots, but that's just the state of the internet as of now. Not that it necessarily matters, considering only about 10% of the internet actually engages with it via content creation, or simply reaching out to folks.
Something you have to deal with as a small creator is the realization that, realistically, to even experience a small percentage of that constant stream of engagement you see many popular creators receive, you'd have to be at least in the hundreds of thousands of followers.
That, or you have a stalker situation on your hands, which I hope you don't.
I think a part of most people wishes for the way things were when it comes to the internet, as doomer as that sentiment is. People wish for an older internet where most websites felt like their own corners of the internet and you weren't really stuck to the same three websites, in which most of the communication you can make is with bots or otherwise, people who don't really care about you or your work based on your ability to market yourself.
It's partially why I chose this platform for my little oversharing box. Not to say that tumblr is exempt from any of the issues I mentioned, of course there are bots on this site, of course there's clout mongers and the sort. It's just the way these things go, but they're the last website to even allow HTML customization and theming, as limited as it is.
I personally have never quite gotten to experience "the days of internet yore", didn't really get social media until it became more similar to how it is today. I have vague memories of the old youtube layout but that's about it. So it's pretty difficult for me to take the stance that 'the old internet was better'... though I can't say I disagree either.

Tumblr media
Well it’s been a while since I posted so I thought I’d go all out on this blog. I’m going to discuss, soul connections, astrology, inner work and the 7 chakras and a little bit of tarot.
In 2018 I began going through another spiritual awakening, I stumbled across the term twin flames and I was quite taken back by it. I always grew up thinking we all had one soul mate and it was a fairytale kind of love but the deeper I dove into spirituality my beliefs began to change.
We can have several soul mates but only one twin flame. The common theory for twin flames is that the soul splits and reincarnations into two different bodies for soul evolution. A twin flame is a mirror soul, a reflection of you , the good and the bad. Your twin will shed light on everything that you need to heal and what you try to run from and eventually they will help you to ascend. There is no other connection like it. They usually come in and out your life triggering different stages of spiritual awakenings and to ensure you continue doing the work you signed up before reincarnating on Earth.
The twin flame journey isn’t easy, there are many different stages and there is usually a runner and chaser dynamic going on. One of the main lessons is to learn that twin flames will always be connected it’s only their ego that separates them from each other.
🖤A soul mate is usually a relatively easy relationship, you grow together and are able to overcome challenges, the relationship brings stability, peace and love they are usually a life partner that you settle down with.
-
-🖤Karmic people are the ones you will meet through out your life, the union between karmic people can often be intense and short lived. The reason being is that they cross your path to teach you something valuable and it is up to you whether you want to learn the lesson. Sometimes we keep meeting the same people in different bodies so that we are forced  to pay attention to what they are trying to teach us.
-
🖤Catalyst twin flames A catalyst twin flame is a term used for someone who may be very similar to your twin flame, they may belong in the same soul group or share the same vibrational energy. They also trigger inner work
- You may find yourself meeting karmic people during retrograde seasons.
- South node in astrology represents our past lives, where we came from and where our souls last resided. I would look at personal planets, moon, mars, mercury and Venus aspecting South node to see what karma you have to unravel. I would look at harsh aspects usually squares, oppositions or conjunctions to the south node.
- Venus square south node would be a good indicator that you shared an emotional bond with this person in a previous life time.
🖤Megan fox and machine GK synastry 🖤
An article published on 22nd July 2020 - the date is definitely a synchronicity since 22 22 is considered a twin flame number, In the article Megan claims that MGK is her twin flame. She recalled feeling an instant connection with him.
“I went deep right away. I knew before I even did his chart, I said to him, he has a Pisces moon. I could tell by his energy,” she said.”
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.yahoo.com/amphtml/entertainment/megan-fox-connection-machine-gun-kelly-immediate-twin-flame-194629807.html
MGK also captioned a picture of them both on Instagram as
“waited for eternity to find you again... 🔪 💫❤️ 🔪 “
So let’s look into this magical connection they share.
With MF and MGK both having Taurus sun’s, they will share similar personality traits which will bring harmony. However their rising signs are quite different since Megan has Capricorn rising and MGK has Gemini, the Gemini energy and sun in his 11 denfentily gives MGK more an edgy style.
When have a soul tie with someone we are able to communicate with them telepathically but between twin flames the telepathic connection is very powerful.
Mental connection -
🌚Sun conjunct telephus - in 11th & 3rd house - telepathic connection, understanding, knowing
🌚Mercury conjunct mercury in 12th &4th house - psychic connection , mental connection, depth , understanding
🌚Both have mercury in Taurus , creating a conjunction this means similar ways of thinking / communicating
🌚Neptune in 8th trine mercury in 4th- telepathy, imagination, romance, dreamy , depth
Physical connection
⚡️Sun in 11th opposite Pluto in 5th
Electrical, life changing, obsessive, fated , magnetic , explosive
⚡️Megan’s mars falls into MGK 8th house
Sexual chemistry, exploring taboos, depth, intensity, reading the subconscious mind, sharing secrets , sexual tension
⚡️MGK Mars in Pisces is trine MF Pluto in Scorpio
Satisfying each other’s desires, intimacy, power games
⚡️Mars in 11th - squaring Pluto in 8th composite chart - experimenting, powerful emotions, bringing out each other’s shadow/ darker side, knowing what triggers one and other
connection -
🖤 Megan’s Leo moon is conjunct MGF south node - 3rd house of communication .Any personal planets aspecting the south node can indicate past life encounters. The moon represents our emotions and connections we have with others and since it’s touching his south node this can indicate an instant connection, familiarity and deep bond.
🖤 Jupiter expands and blesses everything it touches, if aspected positively. MGK Venus in Pisces is exactly conjunct MF’s Jupiter in Pisces - this aspect would give a dreamy, fairy tale kind of love and with a dash of Jupiter for sure it would be expand their love for each other.
🖤 MGK Alma which is another term for soul is conjunct MF’s Neptune in Capricorn in her 12th house. As mentioned earlier the 12th house is known as the karmic house. Capricorn’s ruler is Saturn which also known for representing karma in astrology. Now let’s switch it round. Their Neptune conjunct Alma also falls into MF’s 7th house. Now taking in both placements, I would say this is a spiritual connection.
Fate, destiny and karma
The vertex is used in astrology to identify fated events, karma and destiny. Scorpio is considered the most interned sign of the zodiac because of the powerful energy Pluto carries.
Her Pluto is conjunct his vertex in his 5th house of fun, dating and romance. This is likely to be a life changing relationship filled with passion and. They will be strongly drawn to each other and with this conjunction also falling into MF 9th house, this union would more than likely transform her beliefs and lead her to search for spirtual guidance to make sense of their connection.
-South node conjunct union in Libra (spiritual reunion)
-Venus square Chiron (deep healing)
Elements
Fixed - Taurus , Scorpio , Leo , Aquarius
Mutable - Pisces , Virgo , Sagittarius, Gemini
Cardinal - Cancer , Aquarius, libra , Aries
🌚Feminine signs - Earth + water
💥Masculine signs -Air + fire
Usually with twin flames you will notice similarities or oppositions within the chart.
Both sun signs are in a fixed sign
🌙 Megan’s moon is in her 7th house which is a cardinal house
🌙 MGK Moon falls in his 10th house which is also cardinal house
🌪MF Venus is in Pisces & MGK Venus is in Gemini both are mutable signs
💥Megan’s mars falls Into her 1st house & MGK mars falls into his 10th both cardinal houses.
💥Megan’s mars is in Capricorn MGK mars falls into his 10th house which is the house of Capricorn.
🌙Mercury in Taurus are both in water houses 12 & 4
🌙Ruler of Megan’s DC is in cancer and her moon is in her 7th house.
🌙Ruler of MGK 7 house is in Jupiter which is in his 1st house
Alma means soul in Spanish it also considered the second moon in astrology.
🌙Megan’s Alma is in her 1st house
🌙And MGK Alma is in his 7th house
It is not clear whether they are actually twin flames but they are likely to share a soul connection. It will be interesting to see how this relationship plays out in the future as no twin flame journey is a walk in the park.
Astrology can not determine who your twin is.
Every twins journey is different, some are meant to be together in this life and some are not it all depends on the soul contract, all twins will have different strengths, weaknesses and connections which will show up differently in each individual chart. I found some asteroids which seem pretty interesting. You can go over to Astro. Com (extended chart) and calculate synastry between you and whoever. Asteroids should be in conjunction, opposition or squaring personal planets.
💫 Telephus 5264 - what a magical asteroid, it represents intuition, telepathy your inner voice.

🪄Numerology / synchronicities / dreams
-Some are born on the same day
-same life path numbers (this isn’t always) try calculating the numbers also
-Seeing repetitive numbers what are associated with twin flames - 1111/111/1212/1221/1313/2222/
-Reunion on the 11th month or 11th day etc
-months or days calculated between birth date may be meaningful
-having visions / dreams
-astral projection
-meeting/ unions during astrological events - new moons / full moons / portals
Dealing with separation / dark night of the soul
Energy work is a vital part of your spiritual journey. For those who feel they are on a twin flame journey then it is important that you balance your chakras especially if you are hoping for a reunion after separation or going through ‘the dark night of the soul’ or if you want to ascend high enough to meet a soul mate.
Everybody has 7 energy points in the body which is known as the chakras.
The crown chakra is associated with the planets Jupiter and the sun (Neutral)
👁The third eye chakra is connected with the moon and and Jupiter (feminine)
💙The throat chakra is associated with mercury (masculine)
💚The heart chakra is connected to the moon and Venus (feminine)
💛The solar plexus chakra represents the sun and mars (masculine)
🧡The sacral chakra is associated with Venus and the moon (feminine)
❤️The root chakra is connected with Saturn (masculine)
Use your astrology chart to connect with your chakras and find out identify your strengths and weaknesses. A person who has Neptune positively aspecting their personal planets may have an active third eye chakra which makes them in intuitive , spiritual and psychic. But they may have harsh aspects to their moon where they may shy away from emotionally intimacy, be guarded or have conflict feelings. They will need to do more work on their heart / sacral chakra through out their life time for spiritual healing.
An example of this would be moon square Saturn as it can indicate mother wounds, if you don’t heal then over time you can create and an emotional wall , this where the heart chakra becomes unbalanced or blocked. By observing where your moon is in your chart you can find where you will find comfort in life and what makes you feel content.
Your birth chart is a guide of what you need to heal, the more healing you do the less likely you are to keep recycling your experiences as you will raise your vibrations you will attract your soul family, be able to manifest the life you desire and ascend higher.
I’ve written a list of how the planets can relate to our shadow side.
🪐Pluto - what we desire, obsessions , secrets
🪐Lilith - Lilith is the wildness that resides within all of us, she holds the key to the closet that holds all your skeletons. She appears as taboos, addictions, obsessions, lust, and desires
🪐Chiron -the teacher and also the healer
🪐Saturn - what we fear , what we resent , karmic patterns
🪐Venus- What and how we love
🪐Mars - our drive , aggression
🪐Mercury - our mind
🪐Neptune - how we escape
🪐Squares and oppositions - challenges , work that we need to do -
🪐8th / 12th house
Shadow work
Our shadow side is the darkenss that lies with in us. It’s something that karmic partners usually trigger with in us and our twin reflects our dark parts which helps us to ascend. In astrology we could look at the astroid Lilith sign and placement to understand our darkest parts and what triggers us , or we can look at Pluto or even the more harsh challenging aspects such as squares which sometimes makes it difficult for others to understand us or even for us to understand our selves and why be behave in certain ways.
Shadow work usually rocks up as
-healing childhood trauma/ wounds
-recognising toxic patterns , how we self sabotage ie
-acknowledging
-facing our ego
-embracing our wild side
-Devine masculine / feminine work
-Taboos sexual desires
Tarot cards I Associate with twinflames/soulmates /karmic
-Queen of wands and king of wands / devil (twin flame energy )
-The emperor (Devine masculine)
-The empress (Devine feminine)
-2 of wands / 3 of cups / 10 of cups for reunion
-Judgment -karmic
-The lovers /2of cups / ace of cups - soulmate
-Dark night of the soul / the tower
-separation 8 of cups , death
Happy new moon guys, thanks for reading. Please feel free to share your experiences/ thoughts 🖤🪐⚡️.

(Google translated)
Dan Stevens, who grew up in Wales and south-east England, spent his summer holidays at the National Youth Theater at the age of 15, and he was drawn to the stage while studying English in Cambridge. Since his big breakthrough as Matthew Crawley in the hit series “Downton Abbey”, he has also repeatedly appeared in films such as “Inside Wikileaks - The Fifth Force”, “At Night in the Museum: The Secret Tomb” or “Beauty and the Beast” . Most recently, Stevens played the Russian Schnösel singer Lemtov in the Oscar-nominated comedy “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga” from Netflix. At the beginning of June, the German film “Ich bin dein Mensch” by Maria Schrader celebrated at the Summer Berlinale Premiere, which starts on 1.7. comes to German cinemas regularly. Stevens plays the role of a love robot in it. Unlike on the screen, however, the 38-year-old prefers to speak English in the zoom-conducted interview. He chose a brick wall with a lion motif as the digital background. No allusion to the song “Lion of Love” from “Eurovision Song Contest”, but a photo of the famous Ishtar Gate in Berlin’s Pergamon Museum, where “I am your human” was filmed last summer.
Mr. Stevens, in your new film “I am your human” you play a humanoid robot that is entirely geared towards fulfilling the romantic needs of a skeptical scientist. You yourself recently described the film as “delightfully German”. How did you mean that?
I wanted to say that here pretty big questions - such as what actually makes a person or how much perfection love can take - are negotiated in a very light-footed, elegant and sometimes humorous way. In my experience that is a very German quality. At least I have often seen with many of my German colleagues and friends that they are very good at not discussing difficult issues exclusively deadly serious and melancholy.
Where does your personal connection to Germany and the German language come from?
My parents had friends who lived in Bielefeld and we used to visit them in North Rhine-Westphalia during the school holidays. Traveled from England by car! That’s how I learned a little German as a child, and later I learned it as a subject at school. I even did a short internship there through our friends in Bielefeld. I really love the language. Funnily enough, I was later able to use my knowledge of German professionally, because my first film was “Hilde”, in which I was next to Heike Makatsch played the British actor and director David Cameron, who was married to Hildegard Knef. After that, I always hoped that there might be another chance to speak German in front of the camera, because playing in a foreign language is an exciting challenge. When the chance arose to shoot “I am your person”, I could hardly believe my luck.
Did you know the director Maria Schrader who gave you this chance?
Funnily enough, when the script for the film landed on my table, I had just watched the Netflix series “Unorthodox”, which she directed. I had also watched a few episodes of “Deutschland 89”. In general, I knew that she was a great German actress, not least because friends who knew their way around the German theater scene often raved about her. Working with her was a joy now. Her understanding of actors is quite instinctive and brilliant. I have seldom seen someone who can help an actor who is having difficulties with a scene with such simple means.
The fact that you had already seen “Unorthodox” shows, of course, how quickly “I am your person” must have been implemented in the past year …
Oh yes, that was really quick. In March I was still in New York and was about to premiere a new play on Broadway. But then the pandemic came, everything was canceled and I flew back to my family in Los Angeles. A few weeks later, Maria and I met each other via Zoom - and shortly afterwards I was sitting outside in a café in the Berlin June sun for the first time in months to discuss the upcoming shoot with her. That was pretty surreal because I hadn’t actually left the house since March.
Is it correct that you oriented yourself to Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart to portray the romantically programmed robot Tom?
In any case, these were role models that Maria and I spoke about. When you think of the game between the two of them, you always see an enormous clarity and directness. Cary Grant, for example, was always quite funny, especially in his romantic roles, but also flawless in an almost artificial way from today’s perspective. I found that very suitable for a robot. Apart from the fact that the ideas that Tom and his algorithm have of romance and love are certainly also shaped by the classic romantic comedies from Hollywood. Oh, the woman is sad, so I’ll bring her flowers! Such automatisms from the stories from back then were very appropriate for Tom now.
Keyword role models: Who shaped you in your career as an actor?
There were of course many. Jimmy Stewart was certainly something of a role model. My mom and I watched a lot of his films when I was little and I was always impressed by the kind of sweet tragedy that went into all of his roles. But maybe Robin Williams’ work influenced me even more. I always found the incredible variety of his films remarkable. He could make his audience laugh hysterically like no other, but also move them to tears in other roles. I always wanted to emulate this range.
In fact, the range of your roles is enormous and ranges from the Disney blockbuster “Beauty and the Beast” to a comic adaptation in series format such as “Legion” to bulky independent films such as “Her Smell” or the horror thriller “The Rental “, Which we just released on DVD. Is there a method behind this diversity?
Not in principle. I like variety, but I’m not just looking for roles that are as different as possible from one another. Rather, there are always similar factors that I use to select my projects. Sometimes there is a certain director that I really want to work with. Or the role itself is irresistible because it presents me with acting challenges. And sometimes a script is just fantastically written and I am interested in the topics it is about. With “I am your person” it was definitely the latter, especially since the timing was just right. In 2020 there were so many societal questions that ultimately touched the core of human existence. Such a script, which deals with something very similar in a light-footed way, was just fitting.
A few years ago you said in a questionnaire from the British Guardians that your greatest weakness was not being able to make up your mind. So every time you are offered a role, do you ponder whether you should accept?
No, no, when a script appeals to me, it actually does it very quickly. It’s such a gut feeling. If I’m unsure and skeptical, that’s a good indicator that this is not the right thing for me. That with the difficulty in making decisions related rather to something else. For example, it takes me forever to order in a restaurant because I can never decide what on the menu appeals to me the most.
You became famous with the role of Matthew Crawley in the series "Downton Abbey”. Did you immediately suspect at the time that something big was going on?
At first we were all pretty clueless. There are really many British history series, and we were one of them. When the first season aired in the US and was a huge success there, it was pretty unexpected. I never expected the impact the series would have on my career.
Barely ten years later, are you still being asked about the role?
Oh yes, regularly. Probably nothing will change about that either. I got out after three seasons!
In the meantime, however, the flamboyant Russian singer Alexander Lemtov from “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga” should also be a character with whom you will be immediately associated, right?
Right, it has been mentioned more and more recently when people recognize me on the street. This charming, silly film obviously had a nerve with the audience last year in the middle of the corona pandemic. Especially since the real Eurovision Song Contest had been canceled.
The film was the number one topic of conversation on the Internet for a while - and Lemtov GIFs and memes were everywhere. Did you follow that?
It was really hard to avoid it. I wasn’t looking specifically for what people were posting. But of course my friends passed a lot on to me, and there were already some very funny Lemtov things. But he’s also a figure made for GIFs.
Another question every British actor under 40 has to put up with these days: Would you like to become the next James Bond?
Oh, of course, everyone gets to hear this question again and again who meets certain criteria. But it is completely hypothetical. Although a few years ago I read in an audio book by Ian Fleming’s “Casino Royale”.
You mentioned earlier that you and your family have lived in the United States for a long time. How big is your homesickness?
I actually feel very comfortable in Los Angeles. But every now and then I miss the sidewalk culture of European cities. People on foot, street cafes, things like that. Last year the longing for it was particularly great, although it was of course clear to me that there was a state of emergency in Europe too. In any case, I found myself reading books that were set in Europe and made me homesick. Which is why the unexpected trip to Berlin was really a boon.
You are also an avid cricketer. That’s certainly difficult in Los Angeles, isn’t it?
There are quite a few cricket clubs here. The only problem is that the few people who do the sport here are so good at it that I have problems keeping up. That’s why I always lose sight of the matter here a little. Even as a pure TV viewer, it is not easy to stay on the ball, because of course there is no cricket broadcast here at prime time. But as soon as I’m home in England in the summer, I really want to play again!

I really wouldn't mind you aiding me with some tutorials love
giffing tutorial/resources
hi anon! sorry it took me so long to answer. i figured this might be helpful for others out there who have asked me similar questions, so i’ve compiled a pretty comprehensive list of tutorials/resources. idk about others but when i was new to giffing, it took me a lot of painful effort to go around and look for resources, so i’m putting it all here to make it a little easier!
i download videos using 4k video downloader. it will download very good quality 1080p videos in .mp4 format. if you’re downloading a 4k video, make sure to change the setting option to .mkv so that you get 4k and not 1080p—for obvious reasons since you want the highest quality.
i rely on kpopexciting to get .ts files — which are basically raw, very high quality video files for live performances. they are much less grainy than .mp4 versions of live performances—which are the ones you’ll see uploaded to youtube. i’ve found that 4k videos (in .mkv) are just as good quality as .ts, but obviously you will rarely see live performances in 4k, so get .ts when you can!! you can also try to find .ts files on twitter, but you may have to do a lot of digging. i wish i could recommend you twitter accounts, but the ones i used to go to have been very inactive/taken down all their drives :( but this website is really nice and updated frequently so i would recommend it!
vapoursynth links + download. the reason you would use vapoursynth is to resize your gif, while maintaining the optimal quality of the gif. if you gif without vapoursynth (.ie only using photoshop), it will still be fine, but the image quality may be grainier. also, you will definitely need vapoursynth to gif .ts files —more will be explained in the tutorial i’ve linked below. i would recommend that you have a high processing/lots of ram/newer desktop or laptop to use vapoursynth so that 1, your computer isn’t fried and 2, your vapoursynth process will go a lot faster. i am using a 2017 macbook pro for all my work, and it runs pretty well, but my laptop still gets pretty hot so just make sure you’re not running a million things in the background while using adobe products and vapoursynth lol. i used a pretty old and beat up 2011 model macbook air back then, and i will say that yes vapoursynth worked and ran on it, but it took much longer, and basically fried the laptop’s battery (aka i had to get the battery changed twice and the laptop would die randomly) but issok it was a school borrowed laptop so i didn’t feel too bad lol. im just saying this as a precaution, to preserve the health of your electronic devices!! but don’t be afraid to use vapoursynth! you should still try it at least once.
thank you to @realstraykids for this super detailed, really nice tutorial! it includes how and where to download videos, how to gif using vapoursynth, using photoshop, comparisons, coloring, and pretty much all you need to know. 10/10 would recommend
thank you to @dreamcolouring for this lifesaver!!! the best and easiest way to blur out unwanted captions/objects in your gifs. i recommend doing this step after converting your frames to video timeline and before you do sharpening and coloring. another tip i’ll add is to feather the selection you’ve made right before you click on “add vector mask” —this will make sense once you’ve read through the tutorial. feathering it will make the blurred spot less noticeable and more subtle.
i use this generator to create gradient colored captions! copy and paste your text, then select the colors you want. generate the code, and copy it. change the settings of the text editor on your post to HTML. paste the code, preview, and voila! add elements <blockquote>,<b>,<i>, etc as needed. see more on colored captions in this tutorial by @kylos --i believe op mentioned a different and better color generator but for some reason it won’t work for me :( hopefully it works for u! basically same idea as the previous generator i mentioned.
my own mini tutorial/workflow process of making gifs. this includes working with a .ts file, vapoursynth, photoshop, coloring, watermarking, etc. and a few of my own tips below:
if you are working with an .mp4, you do not have to make any changes to the preprocessor/denoise filters/sharpening in the resizing part of vapoursynth—it doesn’t make that big of a difference if you do. but if you are working with a .ts file, definitely do make those changes,, that’s the whole reason you have vapoursynth. with an .mp4, i like to use vapoursynth to just resize, but i don’t add any additional settings. i use smart sharpen in photoshop to sharpen it, which is pretty good on it’s own (at least in photoshop 2020!).
my rule of thumb is to do add .02 seconds when i am setting frame delay. so if when you first import the frames, they are at 0.04 seconds, i usually change them to 0.06. of course, this is my personal taste—you can make all your gifs faster or slower depending on how you want em to look.
if you are on a mac, you can screen record by pressing Command+Shift+5 (it’s a shortcut to quicktime screen recording). I only screen record for things like the beyond live concert or other live streamed events. the image quality of the screen recording, in my experience, is actually pretty good. when you gif the screen recording however, you may notice that it adds extra frames that you don’t need. by that i mean duplicate frames. you could keep the duplicate frames but that just means the size of your gif is going to be much bigger (keep in mind the limit is 8mb). in order to remove those duplicates, my only solution has been to remove them manually (by holding Command while selecting), or when you are importing the video to frames, select the option to “limit to every 2 frames”—but this method will be less precise and still not as good as manually removing frames. if you remove the duplicate frames, this means you will need to set the frame delay even slower, to make up for lost frames. in my experience, fps(frames per second) and frame delay work in conjunction. so for example, if i delete every other frame because they are duplicates,  but the starting frame delay is 0.02, i am now going to change it to something like 0.05 (so i added 0.03 seconds rather than my usual 0.02). if the duration length and the image dimensions of the gif are short/small, feel free to keep the duplicate frames in—i only delete duplicate frames in order to keep my gif under the 8mb limit. then, if you keep the duplicate frames in, continue with your standard frame delay preferences.  now that i’m writing this im realizing this might not make a lot of sense lol.. but don’t worry about it for now and if you run into trouble w screen recorded gifs then you can come back to this for reference. again, this is only my experience recording on a mac—it may be a lot different if you use a screen recording program or are on a pc.
i don’t really use .psd templates because i like to give every gif/gifset it’s own unique coloring—so i remake the coloring every time, but if you get into a rhythm it’s pretty easy. there are a lot of nice coloring tutorials out there, too! my personal coloring adjustments in order: levels, exposure, color balance, selective color (if needed), vibrance, photo filter (if needed), color lookup (i use 2strip most often and i put it on ‘color’ blending mode). don’t forget to adjust the opacities and fills of the ‘color lookup’ adjustment layer in case it’s too strong. go back to correct each adjustment layer as needed. then, when you’re done and satisfied, group all those layers, copy the group (you can do an easy command+c), and paste it onto the next gif you’re working on for easy workflow.
if for some reason you can’t see the frames when you import your layers/video, it’s likely because your ‘timeline’ window isn’t showing up. just go to the window menu on photoshop, go to the bottom and you’ll see ‘timeline.’ make sure it has a check next to it.
i recommend watermarking your gifs because a lot of people like to repost tings these days 😠 - so make sure u got your brand on it! i keep my watermark saved to my ‘libraries’ in photoshop so it’s ready when i need it. i use the blending mode ‘overlay’ and adjust the opacity, but if you don’t want to do that you can also add a stroke/shadow to your watermark/do all sorts.
tag #nctinc for your nct creations and #jenonet for your jeno creations!!
here’s my own mini tutorial (well not much of a tutorial ig more like a work process vid?): took about ten minutes including the time to search and download the video (but i didn’t record that part i trust yall know how to do that), vapoursynth, and exporting. i hope this helps somewhat! feel free to ask more questions whenever :)
youtube
keep in mind that giffing takes a lot of patience, energy, and experience—so don’t worry if it takes you a bit to figure things out or if your gifs don’t turn out the way you want them to the first time around. we all start at the same place and all run into problems. i know giffing can sound intimidating and seem like a lot of work, but i promise, once you get into a routine, giffing is going to happen in minutes—and you’ll get beautiful gifs. have fun! 😊

How domain registration and website hosting Work
How domain registration and website hosting Work
Hstariq
Just now·9 min read
what’s up everyone
in the last 10 years I’ve built almost
70 websites and haven’t gone through the
analytics they’ve been seen by close to
1 million people which is pretty
mind-blowing all of those website
projects were unique however the core
elements of how to set up a website
remain the same every single time this
article is for the beginners out there
that want to build our first website and
are confused by all the tech jargon that
goes along with that process if that
sounds like you stick around because
we’re gonna go through the basics of how
domain registration and website hosting
work and then we’ll discuss what the
various web hosting package types mean
and the pros and cons of each and
hopefully by the end you’ll have a
better understanding of how to choose
the right one for your situation so
let’s start with how websites work and I
created a real simple graphic here to go
over the process of domain registration
and website hosting for this example I
picked some of the big companies out
there Bluehost.com godaddy.com and Hostgator calm I
use all of them personally and bluehost
is most popular for domains but all of
these companies generally offer all
services so bluehost has hosting domains
website builders and Hostgator does the
same exact thing I have had a good
experience with bluehost hosting which is
why I’ve stayed with them from
hosting perspective but I’ve had no
problems with them for a domain
registration so when you register your
domain with bluehost you’re gonna get
access to these DNS settings for each
domain that you register and then when
you sign up with a hosting company like
Bluehost or Hostgator they’re gonna send you their
DNS servers so you sign up with your
bluehost account and they’re gonna send
you likely to DNS servers all you have
to do is go into your bluehost settings
and plug in your bluehost dns servers
that’s literally all you need to get set
up with your website and the DNS server
its function is to translate your domain
into an IP address so all it does is
when you as the visitor go to a website
you know you open up your browser and
type in a domain name it’s going to send
that domain name.
to a DNS server where it maps it to the
IP address of your web host and that’s
where it gets all the files from so
that’s how the website is downloaded so
hopefully that wasn’t too confusing for
you and I hope that this graphic is
simple enough to understand but really
all you need to remember is that when
you register your domain wherever you
register the domain you should have
access to DNS settings and whatever you
put within those DNS settings that’s
going to define where your website is
hosted now before we go into the hosting
packages we have to figure out what your
goal is you might be one to do one of
many things so the first questions that
you’re gonna want to ask yourself are do
you want to create one website only or
if we project into the future
are you planning to build multiple
websites and as multiple websites mean
two or three or does it mean maybe 10 or
20 and then you have to think about the
software that you’re gonna use to build
the website are you building from
scratch with HTML do you want to use a
content management system like WordPress
are you just going to use templates or a
builder offered by the web hosting
company like bluehost or GoDaddy or are
you planning on doing custom development
and maybe even code with a higher-level
language like PHP or JavaScript and last
but not least consider the traffic of
the website so if you’re just starting
out a website it’s not gonna have high
traffic it’s gonna take a while to build
up the traffic and then even for
established websites they might be low
traffic if they’re local and then on the
other end of the spectrum you might have
a global oriented website based around a
hobby or a general interest that applies
to people worldwide and in those cases
once you get to a point of high traffic
your web hosting options are gonna
change and I have to point this out
you’ll see a lot of people that leave
bad reviews for cheaper web hosting
companies there are people that don’t
consider the beginners experience you
know you can always upgrade there’s
nothing wrong with starting with a
cheaper package and upgrading down the
road when you start getting more traffic
so let’s look at the options that are
going to be available to you on the
majority of web hosting companies across
the Internet
more than likely you’re gonna be
choosing from one of these types of
packages shared hosting reseller hosting
a virtual private server dedicated
hosting cloud hosting and managed
WordPress hosting the first one is
shared hosting and this is the cheapest
the quickest and the easiest to get
started you’re gonna see really great
deals for shared hosting packages and
this is really dominated by the big
companies I mean that’s really how all
markets are anything cheap is gonna be
dominated by big companies and anything
that’s really expensive is by small
companies that offer a high end customer
service experience with that said the
main Conda shared hosting is that as the
name suggests you’re gonna be sharing
your hosting package with a lot of other
websites depending on you know who your
neighbors are that might mean that your
website is gonna load slower now what
that said I think it’s the option that
you should start with if you’re a
beginner for the reason of it being
cheap and that you can always upgrade
the next one is reseller hosting and
this is what I started with
many years ago I had the vision that I
wanted to create websites for small
businesses and local businesses so from
the get-go I knew that I wanted a plan
where I can create multiple hosting
accounts and that’s really what it
resell roasting is it’s pretty much
shared hosting but where you can create
unlimited websites and as as this name
suggests you can actually sell hosting
plans you don’t need to create websites
specifically you could literally just
create hosting accounts and let the
people figure it out themselves a step
above that is VPS hosting and this is
virtual private server and with this
you’re getting resources that act like
your own so so it acts as though it’s
not being shared with other websites
even though from a physical perspective
it might literally be on the same server
but their software overtop of it they
give you dedicated resources to run your
website so you don’t have to worry about
other websites interfering with your
performance they also give you root
access so if you need to do any
technical stuff for IT level stuff
you’re gonna have
more options with a VPS server versus a
shared hosting server and the main
downside is that this is going to cost
more than shared hosting and it’s also
not as scalable as some of the other
options if you do start to get more
traffic one step above VPS is dedicated
hosting so this is where you actually
get physical resources you know you get
a physical web server that is all yours
and that’s where your website runs so
this is generally expensive I think I’ve
never looked into this for myself but
just having browsed around I’ve seen
prices anywhere from like seventy five
dollars to two hundred dollars per month
for dedicated hosting plans so this is
something that you’re really only gonna
need if you have a high traffic website
and you’re a technical kind of person
nowadays a popular option is cloud
hosting so instead of your hosts being
on a physical computer you know sitting
somewhere maybe in the United States or
internationally your website hosting is
on the cloud and the big advantage to
this is that you have redundancy so it’s
usually faster it’s more scalable
especially if the traffic surges start
to happen you know your site’s not gonna
crash as easily as it would if you were
on a shared server that only had a
specific amount of you know RAM or
memory so this is gonna cost you a
little bit more and the other downside
is that you might not get the same
access that you would if you had a
dedicated server and a similar version
of cloud hosting is managed WordPress
hosting so this is specifically
optimized for the WordPress content
management software and database
oriented websites they also do a lot of
updates for you so it’s gonna be more
secure you don’t have to worry about
doing that manually and similar to cloud
hosting the downsides to this or pricing
control so I had to do this from one of
my websites it started to get a lot of
traffic and the performance of all the
websites that were on that shared server
and that included both personal and
client websites the load speed of all of
them started to decline so I knew I had
to get my high traffic websites off of
that shared server and just keep the low
traffic websites on there and when I
switched over to managed
Press hosting and the company I chose
was Ken stay calm the performance of the

through all of my websites personal
websites client websites I like to say
that websites are the best vehicle to
learn about business because you could
touch every aspect of business with a
website so they’re the the perfect
launching pad that doesn’t take a
massive investment you know it doesn’t
cost that much you can get started for
a hundred dollars in almost every case
and if you have a little bit more to
work with then that’s where you want to
invest more in the strategy set of
things I don’t think you want to invest
right away and the best technology when
you have don’t have a web design you
don’t have any traffic all the links
that I mentioned here will be in the
description below that’s all that I got
for you today I want to really thank you
for taking the time to read this and I
hope to see you on the next article have a

Blog 1 - Is Tumblr a blog or a social networking site?
So prior to writing this I’ve had no experience using Tumblr myself, I’ve heard about it here and there but it never caught my attention enough to check it out. But after looking into it, my first impression was that this is a social networking site, why might you ask?
Tumblr media
Well, at first glance it shares a very similar outlook to other social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter or even Instagram. You can pretty much post anything on tumblr, be it text, images, video , audio or even quotes!! So my initial answer was “Oh yeah, this a social media site!!”, BUT I heard many people also declare that Tumblr is a blogging site as well. So let’s take a bit of a deep dive shall we?
Tumblr media
Blog..? What is that?
A blog is an online journal of sorts where you can document your thoughts and ideas in the form of posts which will appear in reverse chronological order (Grosvenor n.d.). These ideas can be presented with various media attached and be displayed to the people of the internet. Any topics or themes could be explored using blogs and tumblr helps achieve this.
Tumblr media
Social networking site. Do I need to say anything?
Social networking sites (SNS for short) need no introductions, they are virtual communities where users can create individual public profiles, interact with real-life friends, and meet other people based on shared interests (Anon n.d.). Examples include most notably Facebook, Instagram, Twitter among a smattering of others. Marketers also have been using social networking for increasing brand recognition and encouraging brand loyalty.
Tumblr media
So what is Tumblr then?
Tumblr’s official definition states it as a microblogging and social networking site so by definition it is both but you don’t have to take their word for it. If you use Tumblr or have interacted with it in any way, you would come to know that it manages to fill in both those roles.
Tumblr media
Users are able to use Tumblr to post ideas or thoughts about topics they want to talk about just like a blog but users can also interact with those blogs, they can like, comment and re-blog (Anon n.d.) ,this is essentially like the retweet feature of twitter. They can follow other people on the site and even chat with them. These features make it also a viable candidate for a social networking site. Tumblr communities are always brimming with unique and interesting people throwing around creative artforms left and right be it in the form of memes, gifs, videos or blogs.
My personal conclusion
I really think that Tumblr succeeds in being both a blogging and social networking site as it was intended to be. Even though it has been overshadowed by the other behemoths in the social networking scene, Tumblr provides a home for bloggers and casual browsers alike to post whatever they feel like, making it an interesting platform to be in, although there have been a LOT of people telling that it’s a cesspool of insanity which you should not dip into….but hey aren’t we all a little crazy sometimes.
Tumblr media

i see a lot of 13 yr olds on tumblr these days, so id like to share some advice i wish i had known using tumblr at age 13.
this is also probably not an original idea from me lol, someone has got to have done this before. i would usually put this under a cut but ive decided not to for now
be aware that this site is like NOTORIOUSLY harmful. you may think you’re above it or too mature for it to hurt you, but trust me, you aren’t. since you will probably not be stopped by that warning, maybe take some precautions/keep some stuff in mind to stay safe.
i had tumblr savior for my first experiences with the site. im pretty sure it still works and it’s regularly updated, so take a look into that. it blocks posts with certain keywords from being seen on your radar, and can also push/allow posts with other keywords to always be shown. i would advise getting it or a similar extension to custom block triggering/harmful content.
don’t put other/more popular users in your fandom/community on a pedestal. they’re people behind a blog, just like you are. don’t feel intimidated by the people in your own community, they are just people the same way you are a person. they can mess up at times, and so can you.
making friends is a great thing on this site, but keep an eye on new online friends’ behaviors. it is exciting to meet new people, but you want to be aware of toxic friends. same goes for your mutuals. overall, keep people on this site at an arm’s length until you’ve gotten to know them enough personally to know that they’re genuine people. as you get older you can relax on this, but as a young teen it’s better to be hyperaware than to be blissfully ignorant as you get hurt.
onto more broad things, your theme doesn’t have to be perfect. you dont have to make a custom html/edited html website theme for your blog, you can leave it as tumblr default. if you enjoy organizing that, then by all means go ahead! but don’t feel like it is necessary for your blog, most of the time you will get a new theme set up and check on it on a month and find that it actually looks terrible to you. if you’d rather just have it as a basic/default site, then that is perfectly normal.
your blog’s theme/topic is your choice, and can be uniquely you. some people have many blogs for many things, just a few, or just one with everything. it is up to you how you want to do it! the themes you choose, topics, are up to you. fads and trends are cool but finding what works for you personally is way more fun. your blog is supposed to be fun. you are supposed to enjoy using tumblr. don’t compromise that for a trend. make your blog(s) however you want, however it pleases you. it can feel pressuring to have a perfect blog, but it’s better to just make your appearance the way it would make you happy.
also, tag systems are awesome! but they are not necessary unless you’re tagging trigger warnings. always tag those! but i know a lot of people have personal tagging systems to organize their blog, which is totally cool! but again, personal tag systems are not necessary, and if they feel unnecessary to you, don’t use them. but again, tag triggering content, especially if you are asked to.
archiving/deleting/creating new blogs is a whole other process. some people like to start with a clean slate every time they switch to a new fandom, and let their old user be archived or deleted. this is perfectly respectable (and probably the right thing to do) personally, i just switch my blog over to whatever im feeling that month and people can unfollow if they no longer enjoy my blog (i dont have that big of a following on this blog). it’s really a personal decision, and if you want to restart your blog you will know when to/if you want to.
reblog art, but never “repost” it. aka dont take the image and post it on your own blog, just reblog it from the original poster. its common sense but not everyone knows? idk
if you end up having some or many followers, make sure to check yourself. appreciate your followers, respect them. they are people with blogs. just like you. don’t let a high number inflate your ego way out of proportion, it’s easy to fall into that sense of power.
respect people’s pronouns. even if you for some reason have a disagreement with them, or you don’t understand why/how their identity works, just use the correct pronouns that they ask you to. it costs you zero dollars and zero cents, and is incredibly respectful
as a young teen, don’t get involved/let yourself get buried in tumblr-wide discourse. examples of this include the bi vs pan debate, flag discourse etc. most ppl who i know who were attentive to things similar to that at a young age ended up being affected negatively by it. pay some attention to what pertains to you and also pay attention to what you can identify as right or wrong, but don’t let people’s opinions on your dash influence you in times of discourse. go and look at both sides of those kinds of debates if you’re interested, and form an opinion from there.
speaking of which, sometimes people will just post their takes on literally anything and youll come across it. take everything with a grain of salt unless there is links to proof (if applicable, not always needed). sometimes bad takes just havent had someone to reblog and disprove yet.
speaking of discourse, there is always discourse on this site in every fandom, every community. form your own opinions always, but keep your moral compass in mind. don’t compromise your morals and sense of right and wrong to enjoy certain fan-media. if something seems off, it probably is.
people make mistakes, and if someone did something kind of shitty/had a terrible take/belief (not irredemably shitty, those ppl do not need ur attention) and they genuinely apologize for the shit they did and learn from it, move on. leave some shit in the past, holding grudges isnt good for your mental health and people change. but again, always take things with a grain of salt.
you dont need a high follower count to get traction on your posts. it might help, but you can have a low follower count with high interaction or a high follower count with little to know interaction. the best advice i have is to tag what it is relevant to, whether it’s a fandom, aesthetic, etc and people who regularly check those tags will find it.
if you ever get anon hate for some reason, just delete it from ur inbox n move on. ppl who send anon hate want to see you post it and respond to it. if they said some really really MEAN shit though, it may be best to talk to a friend about it for comfort, or take a break from tumblr for a hot min. most importantly, report it, close your ask box/change it to no anonymous asks.
if at some point you choose to voice your opinion about a highly debated topic at the time, be aware that people who disagree might attack you for it. be aware, and be safe about it.
a lot of people swear by xkit. i have never used it in my life, but from the looks of it, it makes using tumblr so much more bearable. it breaks sometimes with tumblr updates, but apparently it’s worth it. again, look into it, but it’s not necessary to use the site.
do niche shit. start sideblogs without a plan in mind. make aus, make art, make writing, or make nothing at all. reblog the things you love wherever you want them to be reblogged. comment on people’s creations if you love them, they probably would love to hear how much you enjoyed it. appreciate how wonderful the better part of this site is, enjoy the free access to view and appreciate others’ creations and ideas.
i would put a lot more on here, but i feel like 20 is probably too much already. if anyone has anything to add, definitely rb with ur addition
overall, do the things you love on here, keep yourself safe, and be respectful of others.

FILMSTARTS: First of all, tell us a little bit what has changed for your character Tina Goldstein in the six months that lie between the storyline of the first and the second film ...
Katherine Waterston: Tina has gotten back her old job and has been working as an Auror for a while now. She has found her way back, and in the first film it looked quite different. At the beginning she was quite haunted by bad luck, but now everything has settled again and so she also has a little more self-confidence. She is in Paris, where we meet her at the beginning of the film. And what else has changed? She is wearing a really cool coat now!
FILMSTARTS: In "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", Tina had a very special relationship with Credence, played by Ezra Miller. Will that be the same in the second movie?
Katherine Waterston : Yes, their special relationship continues. Tina is enthusiastic about her work and does it very thoroughly, but she has, as we already know from the first film, an Achilles Heel: If she sees someone, especially a young person, in need, she just has to help. She throws all the rules overboard. Maybe that's because she had to take care of her sister Queenie early on as a kind of parent replacement. This has made her receptive to the concerns and needs of young people. And in the second film this comes to fruition, which is almost a kind of obsession with credence. She feels responsible for him.
FILMSTARTS: In the first movie we did not learn much about Tina and Queenie's background story. We know that her parents died early and they are very close. Will we now learn more about the history of the Goldsteins and the school days of the sisters in Ilvermorny?
Katherine Waterston: Oh, I know so much about it! I know so much and I can not tell you! Only so much: Yes, at some point you will learn more, but it may not be in this movie. But the relationship between the sisters will be important in this film as well, and there will be some surprising new elements that play a role in this particular relationship. And at some point, you may also see a young Tina, just as there will be a young Newt in "Fantastic Beasts 2".
FILMSTARTS: Hm, so it does not go so well with you and children. How about Tina and animals? Does she get on with the magical beasts a little better than in the first film?
Katherine Waterston: Newt really opened Tina's eyes to the beauty of these beasts in the first movie. So far, as an Auror, she has not had much to do with them, especially in America, where contact with these creatures is strictly regulated. They are considered dangerous. So when Tina discovers how intriguing these animals are in reality, she begins to realize she may need to question the authorities a bit more than before. At the beginning of the first film, she deals with them in a completely different way. She is simply scared, intimidated by their presence. Now that's really different. There's so much to discover about these animals. They are such great beings. It's fun to play someone who likes to surround themselves with the beasts.
FILMSTARTS: In the first part, Tina was obviously the character who adhered the most to the rules. But in the end she had to watch an authority figure who she had trusted turn into a masked Grindelwald. What after effects does it have on her that she found out?
Katherine Waterston: This is very similar to the beasts where she realizes that they are not as dangerous as they would have her believe. And somehow she also felt betrayed by the Aurors, who attacked Credence in the end, although of course they could not have known better. But they did not listen to her. All these things have led to her feeling that the system can have its faults. She is of course still a civil servant and she appreciates the work she does and considers it important. But maybe now she often questions the leaders and makes her own decisions. This is an interesting aspect of her: On the one hand, she loves her work, but on the other hand, she is willing to become apostate when it's worth it.
FILMSTARTS: So did it feel like you were playing another character this time?
Katherine Waterston : No, the difference is not that drastic. That was all in her, even in the first film. We met her in the first movie when she was having a difficult phase in her life. But before that she was already a capable Auror and you can not become an Auror without being a really good witch. You have to be smart and strong and prudent. So these things have always been in her and in the first movie there were also brief moments where one got an idea of all her abilities, but then someone misunderstood her again or something went awry and she promptly became unsure. But even if she sometimes did not believe in herself, she always had those strengths. And that's why it does not feel schizophrenic to me that she's so different in the sequel. The character is just developing and growing and that's something great. I've never had the experience to return to a character, I've never starred in a television series or anything. So it's fascinating to spend so much time with a character, get to know her better and see her grow. It's almost like being a real person [laughs].
FILMSTARTS: You could design your own wands? How cool is that!
Katherine Waterston : Yes, so we could at least choose from a few options. And then we did the finetuning. I chose the simplest and then asked to make it heavier. They then used a metal rod. Before that, it just did not feel real enough.
FILMSTARTS: And what would you change if you had the opportunity again?
Katherine Waterston: Hm, that would be kind of interesting if the design of the wand evolved with its owner. But maybe it's a good thing that it always stays the same and reminds you where you're from and who you really are. And mine is just plain and practical and robust, I like that. Tina is just not a dazzling, flashy, girlish woman and a good, solid wand without frills fits her.
FILMSTARTS: But not only Tina herself has changed in the second film, her environment is different: she is now traveling in Europe. How does that affect you? Because in the first part she was in New York, yes on home territory. Is it difficult for her to be in another country and to get in contact with other magical communities?
Katherine Waterston : I think because she has now regained her self-confidence, she does not find that too difficult. She is, so to speak, "fully functional" and copes well. Actually, it would be interesting if she would get the just punishment for her bossy behavior towards Newt in New York and step into Paris in some faux pas by perhaps doing something insulting to the French by mistake. But I think you will not see that. And that the action takes place in different places with different cultures, but has a wonderful message. We are more connected than we are.
FILMSTARTS: And maybe in the city of love, will she relax a little? In the first part she was a very stiff person, only in the scene with Gnarlark, when she attended a bar in evening wear, she seemed to thaw a bit. Does she even have a little free time in Paris?
Katherine Waterston : Oh yes, she just chills, she chills all the time in a Parisian cafe ... [laughs] No, the situation is pretty serious in this movie, so she does not have time to put her feet up. But J.K. Rowling writes so many wonderful facets for her characters, so we'll see Tina in very different ways: we see her self-confidently and how she takes command. We see her overwhelmed and bumping around to get everything done. We see her vulnerable and generous. So there is a lot to do for me. But she will not chill ...

My story is about pirates. The MC is a trans guy and the captain is a lesbian who is some sort of big sister/mother figure to him. It's quite violent. I was wondering if it could be problematic? I know it's problematic to show trans woman being overly violent in fiction but what about cis lesbians and straight trans guys? Also, do you know about real any queer pirates i could read about? And what did pirates think about homosexuality/transness?) How was it being queer in the pirate world?
A conversation that I had, that is relevant:
ME: [PARTNER], do you know anything about queer pirates?
PARTNER: I know that there were many, and they’d sometimes be like -
ME: Sea husbands kind of thing?
PARTNER: Yeah, and one would inherit from the other’s booty, and when it was divided up, they’d share their share of the booty.
ME: [mischievous grinning face]
PARTNER: [nodding] And they might share each other’s booty.
Disclaimer: This whole thing is going to largely focus on what is known as the Golden Age Of Piracy. I’m also not a historian, I just hardcore, love pirates with my heart and soul. This is going to be a long post.
So, this is super generalized, but pirates, and even sea-faring folks in general (see: - or sea, hahahahaha - the LGBT+ history of Brighton in the UK), have tended to have a much higher rate of LGBT+ folks and minoritized people in general, throughout history. As far as most research I’ve done goes. Being in a travelling situation and having the anonymity of being able to move around with chosen family generally has great appeal to folks whose existences are filled with oppression and a sense of not belongingness. This has also applied for racialized people, women in general, impoverished folks in general, a lot of different people who wanted to reclaim a place in the world that ostracized them.
Another fun fact, the use of the term “Friend of Dorothy” as a euphemism for gay folks was investigated by the US Navy. They misunderstood it as meaning that there actually was a woman named Dorothy who could be routed down and coerced into outing her “friends” to the military. Cruise ships and others have also used this phrase to covertly advertise that there were meetings for these folks. (Source: Wikipedia | “Friend of Dorothy”)
But to get to the pirates, specifically.
Most pirate ships largely had their own code that everyone on their ship had to agree to. Some had things like, “you’ll be marooned with one knife, and no food if you are caught not reporting loot to be divvied up by the crew fairly” and things like that. But generally, whoever ran the ship, the Captain, would get to pick the rules. And with the partial-democracy that comes with the idea of mutiny, and the more notable reliance on the labour of it all, in general, things were able to be slightly more consensus-based than the on-land governments.
There are numerous women who became pirates to take ownership of their lives in ways that weren’t permitted on-land. Anne Bonny and Mary Read are historical figures that might be worth looking into. The two of them shared lovers, sailed together, had intense care for one and other and with their dressing up in masculine-coded attire and the like, there’s a lot to go off of in assuming they may have been romantically involved with each other. If not, at least they had some iteration of what a lot of contemporary folks might find comparable to a QPR.
The concept of “sea husbands” was also called matelotage (or bunkmate) depending on your crew. It was kind of the buddy system, but gayer. With little need to consistently explain it to outsiders, folks at sea were freer to explore the different ways a relationship with another person can be, without so much worrying about how it looks to others at a passing glance. And as pirates, there’s less concern that you’ll get shit from the law for gay stuff Of All Things.
Buccaneer Alexander Exquemelin wrote: ‘It is the general and solemn custom amongst them all to seek out… a comrade or companion, whom we may call partner… with whom they join the whole stock of what they possess.’  (Source)
It was just normal. They also had a version of health insurance where someone was compensated if they ended up disabled from battle. The compensation of death of your partner also works into this.
As for transness, these kinds of things have had fickle definitions and historically, it’s hard to be able to pinpoint specific people as fitting cleanly into contemporary cultural definitions of transness, because frankly, the past had different culture to now. When it comes to writing canonically trans characters in contexts where the language might have been different, it’s important to focus on making sure that a trans reader can identify the personal connection with that character’s experiences and feelings, just as much as it is to use language to name folks as trans.
Representation can go deeper than surface terminology and the like, and in cases where the terminology doesn’t necessarily match, it has to. Language like, “I never really felt like a [assigned gender] - I see myself more like [desciption of actual gender identity or name for it].” - is as good as just saying the character is trans in my opinion.
Depending on where the character is from, they also may have just outright had a word in their language for their identity.
Gender presentation was significantly freer with pirates than it was for folks on land. Things like earrings, frilled sleeves, varied hair length and similar, were not uncommon, although the gendered coding associated with these aspects of appearance had different implications than they do now. Gold earrings on seafarers were there to fund a proper burial if someone’s body washed ashore. Gendered clothing was also coded in more binary ways on land. Folks who wanted to be coded as men could do so by wearing pants and folks who wanted to be coded as women could do so with skirts and dresses. (Tangential but fun fact yet again: dressing in those big poofy skirts usually included massive pockets. They were generally not physically attached to the skirts, but if you wore it all properly you would easily be able to reach into them.)
Pirates and other seafarers also had clothing referred to as ‘slops’ for cleaning (if they were of the rank that cleaned anyway) which were pretty wide-legged pants that could almost pass for a skirt.
Material that pirates used for clothing was largely what they stole, but it was cut and sewn into the same shapes a lot of other seafarers wore. At the time, it was largely illegal (under English rules anyway) for people who weren’t the bourgeoisie to wear anything made with nice fabric. Rich people saw this as deceitful, and these laws enabled richer people to not mingle on an equal level with those of a lower socioeconomic status.
As pirates, if you’re already shunning the law, may as well wear full calico suits. (Like Calico Jack Rackham.)
There’s more info on pirate and privateer clothing here. (The link is to a free book in HTML format, complete with illustrations and talk of materials, and how the clothes worn at sea varied from clothes they wore when they came into shore and towns.)
I could write a book on this and still not have covered enough. But the gist is that pirates were a big counterculture of outsiders living their lives. LGBT+ people and racialized people got thrown into the mix (and jumped right in) and experienced much more liberated lives than they might otherwise. That isn’t to say they were flawlessly inclusive - there still definitely were a lot of things people thought of in congruence with colonial beliefs. There was racism and homophobia - but it looked a lot different, and was a lot lighter than you’d think. And there were some ships which banned women, but mainly I think that was because they typically didn’t have the background to hold their ground on the ships, and were considered more of a plus one to certain crew members (who brought them - the rules were specifically about bringing them onto the ship rather than them being there of their own accord) than part of the crew. Sometimes women were part of the crew.
Notably, Anne Bonny and Mary Read were in a polyamorous triad with Calico Jack Rackham. (I think a cis + het historian might argue about this but that would seem like denial to me tbh. There is much, MUCH more evidence pointing in this direction than against it, and it would be extraordinarily hard to argue otherwise.) I would definitely do some research on them!
I also recommend this book (link is the free text on WikiSource), A General History of the Robberies and Murders of the most notorious Pyrates. It is perhaps the most famous contemporary record of the lives of a number of pirates from the time, including Anne Bonny and Mary Read.
As for the sensitivity aspect of this ask, I’d say that what you are describing is completely fine. As long as the violence isn’t used to dehumanize or completely demonize, I would even say that I don’t have any warnings for you about it, or precautions to advise on.
Thank you for this opportunity to infodump about LGBT+ pirates. I hope this is not overwhelming, but I’m also happy to parse out segments of this better upon request. (Our ask will be open eventually, I promise.)

Tumblr media
December 17th I waited as the bombs fell But I didn’t leave
i made this blog after december 17th. before the announcement i used to open a bunch of tabs of posts i liked and then look at them again later and decide which ones i woud reblog. there would be a lot of them. after that i was in a flurry to sort through them all. september is when i learned tumblr has a limit on how many posts you can queue, and how many you can reblog in a day. i would fill a queue and set them to post something like 100 at a time over a number of minutes. it might have been annoying to anyone who followed me, but that was never relly a concern to me if im honest.
the social aspect of tumblr wasn’t the main draw for me. it was personal. iliked to have my little private gallery. but if someone else happened across it and reblogged from it then i could check out there blog and maybe find something new or interesting. i wasn’t looking to make friends or anything, but the communitty is what made tumblr. it was a human system of sharing content that made it easy to find cool stuff, and conect people with similar taste
i wasn’t super precious about my blogs. i did put some effort into them, but after a whilei didn’t worry too muc about if a post fit my theme entirelly . or if it was good enough. the feature i most enjoyed on tumblr was the archive view. moreso then each individual post i enjoyed being able to step back and see an new aestetic emerge from the totality of it. you could scroll up and down and see the mood change on a blog as i followed new people, or found new fleeting fixations. a single post might be flawed but have its own something that shun through. something that contributed to a larger experience. sometimes the thumbnail painted a picture that was only lessened with detail.
obviously all my frentic reblogging was a bit pointless if it was all gonna be nuked by the algorythm, so i found a few different means of backing up my blogs on to hard drives (the crappyest of which was the official tumblr one. not a singl one worked after multiple attempts). so now i had all my blogs, as well as some of my faves by other ppl, some formatting missing, a few corrupt or missing files, but i had them. But the archive view was missing…
so december 17 approached. people posted there twitters. people said their goobyes. it was a bit emotional if im honest. (this one from one of my faves got me https://jazzisthebestformofmusic.tumblr.com/post/180842185944/4309-file-backup-rar-containing-a-majority-of-the) so everyone got down in their bunkers and waited for the bombs to fall.
in the end, only the blogs i had marked as sensitive got hit. i was expecting a lot worse, as all my blogs are pretty horny tbh >__<;; but i had my blogs backed up now, and i had said my goodbyes. i drew a line under the whole tumblr thing. __________________________________________ then i made this blog. partly out of embarasment having said i would go partly because i had my blogs preserved now, and didn’t want to ammend them further. partly because i still felt a disire to collect images and build this weird achive view tapestry i enjoyed. and also i never found a replacement. i tried twitter, but besides not being the same i have to constantly wrestl with the algorhythm there and keep getting shadowbanned. besides, a lot of blogs i liked are still here. albeit with a little less spice and weirdness.slowily coming back as they came to similar conclusions.
<b>Punished Venom Yumiko Wanders The Wasteland</b>
so recently i went back to my backups i made, and spent a few hours fucking around with the html. i managed to make a rough approximation of the old archive view. its superior in some sense. i can edit it freely, and i now include all the images in a photoset, not just the first one. So I guess what i am gonna do is continue drawing lines every now and then, downloading my blog, on my terms where onlu i can decide what gets deleted. then ill make a new one
if you read this far, thank you for indulging me. like i said, this is my personal blog. but if i have a point its that tumblr, (and not just tumblr, any large platform), cant be trusted for foster an environment, and cant be trusted with your content . i dont have a solution to this, besides continuing to try and use tumblr on my weird temporary basis for content aggrigation and maintaining my own personal archive, but if a viable alternative crops up, someone let me know
also, pls check out the archive for https://waterfaerie1.tumblr.com/archive i don’t plan to update it, but i liked this one.
