Statement on Israel’s Use of Starvation as a Weapon of War in Gaza by the Union of Agricultural Work Committees, Palestine
For five days, Israel has attacked Gaza with the aim of total destruction, and the situation is at an unprecedented level of urgency. Israel’s actions have amounted to a humanitarian catastrophe of unfathomable proportions. At the time of publication, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reports 1,055 martyrs and approximately 5,184 injured.
Israel has declared a total warfare stance on Gaza, imposing a ruthless blockade that denies over two million Palestinian residents of Gaza access to electricity, water, food, fuel, medical supplies, and any humanitarian aid. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant explicitly stated this strategy on 9 October 2023, saying: “We are imposing a complete siege on [Gaza]. No electricity, no food, no water, no fuel – everything is closed. We are fighting human animals, and we act accordingly.”
Israel’s deliberate use of starvation as a weapon of war demands the international community immediately respond with unwavering urgency and resolve.
Israel is indiscriminately decimating hospitals, schools, mosques, markets, and entire neighborhoods. Further, Israel threatened Egypt that it would bomb humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza, prompting Egypt to withdraw its aid convoys. The Rafah Crossing into Egypt, the sole international exit from Gaza, has been bombed by Israel three times in a 24-hour period. This calculated assault severs Gazans’ only means of escape from ceaseless bombings or access to essential humanitarian aid. With Israel cutting off Gaza’s source of electricity, the only source of power was the Gaza Power Plant, which has just run out of fuel. In the case that it receives more fuel, Israel has threatened to attack the plant.
Israel’s assault is deliberately destroying any infrastructure that allows Gazans to support themselves. Vital agricultural and fishing infrastructure, crucial for food production, have been mercilessly attacked. Fisher folk cannot access the sea, into which sewage is spilling. The seaport is damaged, and tools are obliterated. Farming areas, often near the fence, have become vulnerable targets in Israeli airstrikes, and farmers whose land has not been destroyed cannot access it for daily agricultural practices. The Ministry of Agriculture reports that the bombing has done immense damage to agricultural areas and poultry farms, but the conditions make it impossible to precisely assess the situation in the field. There is a catastrophic decrease in food stocks, with shops across Gaza reporting severe shortages. The land and sea will face unimaginable environmental damages following these attacks, further preventing efforts to rebuild livelihoods.
Israel’s strategy aims to ensure that those who survive the bombs are condemned to a future without sustenance.
OCHA reports that the assaults have disrupted the UNRWA food operation, impacting at least 112,759 families. The poultry and livestock sectors are on the brink of collapse due to the severe shortage of fodder, endangering the livelihoods of more than 1,000 herders and affecting over 10,000 producers. This jeopardizes the provision of animal protein and the availability of meat and fresh sources of protein for Gaza’s entire population. Transportation of poultry to markets has virtually halted, and dairy cattle milk cannot be refrigerated nor marketed to factories, resulting in an expected daily spoilage of 35,000 liters of milk. More than 4,000 fisheries are at risk due to the closure of the sea. Gaza’s agriculture, poultry, cattle, fish, and other products are suffering from a lack of refrigeration, irrigation, incubation, and other machinery due to electricity cuts, causing spoilage.
Israel’s use of these tactics is not new by any means. Before Saturday, around 65% of the Gazan population was food insecure. More than 46% of the agricultural land in Gaza was inaccessible, and the fishing industry was severely struggling since fishing off the coast of Gaza has been restricted by Israel to 3 to 6 nautical miles.
Food insecurity is a human-made crisis, and Israel is manufacturing a mass starvation of the Gazan people.
It is the moral and legal obligation of the international community to intervene and end this crisis immediately. Food, as a basic necessity, must be allowed to reach the people of Gaza, and the deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure must cease without delay.
We call upon the international community to take immediate action to stop Israel’s massacre of the Gazan population, demand the lifting of the siege, and establish humanitarian corridors for entry of aid.

I’m so sorry to ask you to do this, but you seem to have a relatively big platform on here. If you’re comfortable doing so, please urge your followers to research the Ben Gurion Canal Project. It is a canal that would connect the Red Sea to the Mediterranean and would be a 3rd longer than the Suez Canal, it’s one of the reasons why the US and the rest of the west is so adamant on eradicating Palestinians.
Tumblr media
This is a map of Egypt, Sinai Peninsula, and Palestine. What is happening right now is the mass genocide of the Palestinian people in the Gaza strip and other mass murders in the West Bank. Israel wants to push all the men, women, and children they didn't murder from Gaza into the Sinai Peninsula which is a desert. They want complete control of Gaza, look at how small Gaza is, look at how small. There have been the equivalent of Hiroshima levels of bombs dropped into a place that is barely a few miles long. Palestine is NOT BIG, and Gaza isn't a country it's a part of Palestine, its a city.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I posting these to show the difference, I won't post all the gore and death pictures of the victims, people can look that up for themselves.
Gaza houses millions of Palestinians, many of whom are refuges from the 1948 Nakba, where their homes and lands in the north, south, and center of Palestine were destroyed or stolen by Israeli Settlers. Despite that they have a beautiful city, they built their lives there, through all the wars Israel waged on the Palestinian people they built beauty. This isn't the first time Gaza is being bombed. Gaza has been an open air concentration camp for 16 years, the people inside cannot leave, no one who isn't cleared by the Israeli Military can enter. They have cut off the people of Gaza from the rest of the world for years. No amount of peaceful protest by the people of Palestine asking Israel to take down the wall, to let them have rights, to let them return to their homes, to visit any other part of their country has worked. They murdered the peaceful protestors. This time though they don't want to just make war on Palestine, or drop the annual bombs, they want to eradicate the people of Palestine in Gaza. They are leveling this place to rubble. They have bombed grocery stories, schools, bakeries, universities, churches, mosques, hospitals, cancer centers, more hospitals, they have murdered over 10,000 people in one month, UN workers, Doctors, Journalists, civilians, babies, children, women, men, the elderly, the queers, the Christians, the Muslims, everyone, even the Israeli hostages they keep screaming about, 60 of them have been murdered by Israel themselves. Every form of life they can find they kill. They have cut off all aid. They have cut off all water. They have cut off or destroyed any sources of food. Even before this they have ships in the sea to stop fishermen from fishing too far out. They saw the starving people of Gaza fishing for food in this ongoing massacre, they bombed the boats. This is a genocide. They have been very open about how this is a genocide, there is no confusion here this is the deliberate genocide of the Palestinians. Israel has the support of America. Israel and America will not do a ceasefire. This is very deliberate. Why? The land is so small, they already have almost all of the other land, so why? Besides hating all Palestinians, besides that, why?
Gaza has oil/gas, the resource belongs to the Palestinian people. Israel has already made contracts for companies to come mine the resources. They don't have that right. It belongs to Gaza. Palestine has been slowly suffocating under the Israeli Occupation for 75 years, no human rights, no way for the economy to make money, no self determination, olive trees are burned, farmers land have been stolen, Israel pushes their own products for sale, everything is controlled by Israel. This resource would have brought in money to the Palestinian Economy, it could have lead to more jobs for people. They wouldn't have to rely on trying to get work visas to work in the occupied territories.
But the biggest reason? The Ben Gurion Canal Project.
We all know the Suez Canal, how could anyone on tumblr forget the Ever Given and the Suez Canal?
Tumblr media
The Suez Canal brings in over 9 million dollars yearly to Egypt. Egypt controls the canal. Western Powers, America, UK, etc. don't like that. Israel wants to cut Palestine, they want to tear into its earth, they want to rip a scar down Palestine to make Ben Gurion Canal. If they did this, then they would control the canal, and all those millions of dollars would go right back to Israel and America and their allies. All that money made from the blood of innocent people. Built on the destruction of stolen land. Paid for with the lives of Palestinians. This is why Israel is will not stop murdering people. This is why America gave them the green light to murder as much people as they want. This is why they do not care about the history, bombed old historical buildings like the 3rd oldest church in the history of the world. This is why they do not care about a single Palestinian life.
It's not about religion, it's not about "arab terrorism", it's not about any of the lies that they tell. This is about leveling Gaza to dust so they can build their canal and bring more death and more control over neighboring countries and controlling resources in the middle east.
If you want to learn more about Palestine then follow @palipunk who has great resources, there are lots of books, and information out there just ready to teach people about who we are and why we fight so hard to survive. We deserve to live free on our land. Don't just listen to lies the Western and Israeli media tells everyone, do your own research and share if you all can.
Palestine is small. It's a country that wants to be free, from the British, from America, from Israel. Palestine has been fighting for so long to be free, all the people want is to live on their land, to grow their olive trees, to fish in the sea, to create, to love, to be able to visit each other without walls or soldiers controlling us, to pray, to share in humanity, to be respected and seen as humans. Palestine is old and small and beautiful. Palestine is made up of so many beautiful people and religions, we have such a rich culture and history, we love to sing, we love to dance, and write poetry, and tell stories, and cook, we love to learn, did you know we have the highest literacy rate per population? We love each other, we love the world. Palestine is our hearts, they are killing our hearts.

Seventy-one per cent of Gaza’s population experiences extreme hunger, Euro-Med Monitor study says
Over 71% of participants in a study conducted in the Gaza Strip by Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said that they suffer from extreme hunger, corroborating accusations that Israel uses starvation to punish Palestinian civilians.
Euro-Med Monitor conducted an analytical study that included a sample of 1,200 people in the Gaza Strip in order to ascertain the impact of the humanitarian crisis that Gazans are experiencing in the midst of Israel’s ongoing Israeli genocidal war, which began on 7 October.
According to the study’s findings, 98% of respondents said they eat insufficient amounts of food, while 64% of the participants admitted to eating grass, fruits, immature food, and expired materials to satiate their hunger.
The study found that the rate of access to water in the Gaza Strip, including drinking, bathing, and cleaning water, is 1.5 litres per person per day. This is 15 liters less than the minimum amount of water required for survival at the level required by international standards, noted Euro-Med Monitor.
Additionally, the study examined the effects of malnutrition and a lack of access to clean drinking water. Sixty-six per cent of the study sample reported having experienced diarrhea, skin rashes, or intestinal diseases in the past month.
Euro-Med Monitor transcribed testimonies from doctors revealing an increase in the rate of deaths from fainting and heart attacks in the areas of Gaza City and the Strip’s northern sections, which are witnessing a more severe deterioration in the humanitarian crisis and hunger rates.
Since the start of its genocide in Gaza, Israel has imposed a comprehensive blockade on the Strip and prevented supplies of food, water, fuel, and other humanitarian necessities from reaching the more than 2.3 million residents of the Strip. Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon has taken intensified since 7 October, and has included cutting off all food supplies to Gazans as well as bombing and destroying the Strip’s bakeries, factories, food stores, and water stations and tanks.
Israel has also targeted solar energy systems and electrical generators that power restaurants, businesses, and government agencies. Additional Israeli attacks have destroyed the agricultural area east of Gaza; flour stores; fishing boats; and supply centres for relief organisations, especially the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), the largest source of humanitarian aid in the Strip.
Under international pressure, Israel opened the Rafah land crossing; however, the crossing is open to an average of just 100 trucks per day, for humanitarian supplies coming from Egypt. This is a far cry from the average load of 500 trucks that entered the Strip prior to 7 October to meet humanitarian needs. It is important to note that roughly half of the Gaza Strip’s population is children under the age of 18.
Although a limited amount of food aid has been allowed to enter the enclave, no commercial food imports have been delivered, leaving the Gaza Strip’s residents in dire need of food, particularly in light of the Israeli collective punishment policy.
Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor stressed that international humanitarian law strictly prohibits the use of starvation as a weapon. As an occupying power, Israel is obligated under international humanitarian law to provide basic needs and protection to the Gazan people.
The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court provides that intentionally starving civilians by “depriving them of objects indispensable to their survival, including willfully impeding relief supplies” is a war crime, said the Geneva-based rights group. Euro-Med Monitor called for decisive international action to impose a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and prevent further deterioration of the situation by providing fair and unrestricted access to basic and relief materials to the entire Strip, and allowing the entry of food, water, medical, and fuel supplies in order to meet the needs of the population.

Israel’s blockade on the Gaza Strip report - June, 2022
Israeli forces have largely restricted access to areas within 300 metres of the Gaza side of the perimeter fence with Israel; preventing, or discouraging, agricultural activities.
Israeli forces restrict access off the Gaza coast, currently only allowing fishermen to access 50% of the fishing waters allocated for this purpose under the Oslo Accords.
Unemployment levels in Gaza are amongst the highest in the world: the Q1 jobless rate in 2022 was 46.6%, compared with an average of 34.8% in 2006. Youth unemployment for the same period (age 15-29) stands at 62.5%. (PCBS)
31% of households in Gaza have difficulties meeting essential education needs such as tuition fees and books, due to lack of financial resources.
1.3 million out of 2.1 million Palestinians in Gaza (62%) require food assistance.
In 2021, rolling power cuts by Israel averaged 11 hours per day.
78% of piped water in Gaza is unfit for human consumption.
Israel treats Palestinians like animals, and expects no resistance. Any form of resistance is met with disproportionate force, often targeting the civilians of Gaza.
Israel is a Nazi state and must be abolished.

“The Gaza Strip is in a humanitarian disaster, a man-made crisis resulting from Israeli policy. The lives of nearly two million people are at stake.” - Btselem report 2017
In 2015, the UN warned that without changes, Gaza would become “unlivable” by 2020. Since then, Israel has tightened its policies, and Gaza has been already unliveable for the following points:
The blockade of Gaza, separating it from the West Bank, has been ongoing since the 1990s. It restricts travel, imports, exports, and more, pushing Gaza into an economic recession and dependency on aid.
Gaza's economy has collapsed, with high unemployment and food insecurity. Infrastructure and public services were already deteriorating, with contaminated water, power cuts, and healthcare shortages.
Till Aug 2023, the Israeli occupation continued to raze farm land, demolish residential structures and industrial facilities, and seize buildings inside the strip.
Tumblr media
Also, deliberate herbicide spraying and land destruction have further harmed Gaza's agricultural sector.
The healthcare crisis in Gaza was a severe and ongoing humanitarian issue.
The Israeli blockade, three devastating wars, has meant that the availability of medical services is seriously inadequate to meet the health needs of the two million Gazans.
Gaza's "no-go" zones near the border create a buffer zone and have always been a continuous threat to the lives of those who live and work there.
Tumblr media
Israel's control over Gaza extends to its airspace and territorial waters, which it has maintained since occupying Gaza in 1967. This control has significant implications for Gaza's residents.
Israel's control of Gaza's airspace enables it to monitor activities on the ground, interfere with radio and TV broadcasts, and launch airstrikes at will.
The Oslo Agreements allowed Palestinians to build an airport, and accordingly, Gaza Airport opened in 1998, but then it was closed by Israel in 2000 and has remained closed since then.
In 2001, the Israeli Air Force bombed the airport's runways, and it was later used as an Israeli military base. Israel committed to discussing reopening the airport, but no progress has been made on this front.
Israel's control of Gaza's territorial waters is another aspect of the crisis. While there's no physical barrier along Gaza's coast, residents need Israeli permits to access the sea, with restrictions on how far they can go from shores.
In the Interim Agreement, Israel agreed to allow fishing boats from Gaza up to twenty miles from the coast, but in practice, the limit has often been set at twelve miles and then it was reduced later to only 3 miles!
The promise of a seaport in Gaza has remained unfulfilled. Despite initial infrastructure work, the project was halted, and Israel agreed in 2005 to cooperate in its establishment. But surprisingly, no progress has been made !
The situation in Gaza is dire, while Israel formally withdrew its settlers and military from the Gaza Strip in 2005,in
In practice, Gaza remains under Israeli occupation.
Hamas wasn't the only resistance group that defended Palestinian rights against the occupiers. The resistance started since the very beginning when Israel was declared as a state in 1948.
The "Fedaeyon" had started it all as a resistance, and Hamas still continues their legacy.
Resistance by all means, violent and nonviolent, is essential, and spreading awareness is a must to stop the atrocities committed against the Palestinians for years.
Colonization is a crime against humanity, and colonized people have the right to resist by any means necessary.
Vietnam's 9-year fight for freedom against France shows that resistance is never futile, even when faced with a much more powerful enemy. Calling similar movements "terrorism"is a conspiracy to silence legitimate dissent and perpetuate oppression.
And if people were submissive to colonization they will face the same destiny as the Native Americans, who were colonized and forced onto reservations, where their culture was suppressed and their children were forbidden to speak their own language.
So ask yourself: If you were Palestinian, would you see Hamas as a "terrorist" group or a "resistance" movement defending your right to live while the world has already turned a blind eye?
The disheartening reality that the security council fails to agree on a ceasefire appears much like what Franklin once said as "Demkcracy is like two wolves and a lamb voting on what's for lunch," revealing the fragility of humanity & democracy as the moral compass quivers.
Israel has been playing the US and the Western media and public like a fiddle for decades. They've mastered the language that resonates with Americans.
All that Israel wants is for the US to destroy another Arab nation on Israel's behalf & cause more destabilization.

Israel is fucking abhorrent but how can you think the solution is supporting Putin—who is also engaging in genocide right now?? I followed you here because of your support for Ukranian bloggers against disinformation, saying the west is gonna “make you” support another genocidal maniac and that you’re down with other people who’ve been cheering just that and other genocides on now is horrible. What the fuck.
You cannot trust people who are cool with one genocide to seriously oppose others! That’s true of anti-tankie pro-Israel types too! Get a grip!
At first I was baffled by this because I was ripping into a Tankie just yesterday for their moral posturing over Palestine because the same people have no problem erasing and denying the rest of the Global South's genocides when it suits them. I haven't forgotten Ukraine and never will.
Then I realized this was about my infuriated post about liberals harrassing people to vote for Biden while we're watching the extent of not just his own administration's but the entire Western political establishment's utter moral depravity and commitment to genocide. I said I now will support not just Hamas but also Houthis and Hezbollah and literally any motherfucker who will do something to help Gaza, even Putin, even though I'll probably want to kill myself for having to support another genocider.
I was going to talk to you about betrayal, in the context of your country's treatment of Black and brown students, and talk about how every fuckstick with a Ukrainian flag pinned to their bio, nearly all white Europeans, are out defending Israel's rights underneath videos of dead and maimed and screaming Palestinian children. I've started reacting viscerally to the very sight of your flag did you know that??
I wanted to ask you to contrast the West's mobilization and outcry for you, with the way they're funding and manufacturing consent for Israel cutting off all food, water and electricity for two million people in a concentration camp while carpet bombing them for a solid month. To imagine the level of concerted dehumanization, repression, persecution, and psychological brutalism they're subjecting Arabs and Muslims to, and by extension the rest of the Global South. To understand that within one month far more Gazans have been murdered than you have lost in 20. That they no longer have water or anything to eat, and Israel is still bombing as many fishing boats and solar panels and food stores still remaining so that they are now slowly dying of dehydration, starvation and sepsis. And that none of the governments have any intention of so much as calling a "humanitarian pause" let alone a ceasefire while raising money for "humanitarian aid" they won't send. THAT HALF OF GAZA MIGHT WELL DIE IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS AND SO FAR THE ONLY PEOPLE HELPING FIGHT ISRAEL ARE HAMAS'S ALLIES.
I was going to ask you to imagine why, under these circumstances, I might now feel slightly more appreciative of the same people who protested the US's military support for Ukraine now getting themselves bodily thrown out of Congress hearings protesting the US sending Israel billions more for their bombs and weapons.
But you know what? I don't actually want to ask you for any of that. Because I want nothing to do with this level of selfish, self-involved, entitled, white sociopathy.
My care and compassion for oppressed and suffering human beings are not contingent on their moral behaviour. I'm always going to care about Ukraine even if every single one of you turn out be the same kind of racist colonial cunt that's migrated to Israel. Despite everything I'm still deeply sad that any hope of the US divesting from Israel might have to come at the expense of their support for y'all as well, although as of now them divesting from Israel is far less likely than y'all ever losing out. And I'm not a fucking idiot, I know exactly what kind of self-interested imperialist bootlickers Tankies are.
But understand that Black and brown people owe you nothing. We are intimately familiar with the fact that we're barely human to any of you white chucklefucks, irrespective of region or religion or ethnicity. And still the vast majority of us don't want you to lose your homes and families, because our moral compasses and humanity have always outstripped yours.
Get off my blog and go fuck yourself.

Chapter 7: Open-air Prison
What's life like inside the world's biggest prison?
To find out, you don't have to commit any crime - you just have to be born in Gaza.
Like many prisons, Gaza is overcrowded. In 2021, the population grew to over 2 million, with one of the highest population densities in the world.
But where did all these people come from? Well, about 70% of Gazans are refugees and their descendants. They were forced to move there when Israel took over their towns and villages in 1948. Many fled thinking they were temporarily getting to safety. But Israel has never allowed them to go back, despite many of these towns and villages being a short drive or walking distance from Gaza.
Israel actually went on to occupy Gaza in 1967, impose military rule on the people who lived there, and gave part of its territory to Israeli settlers. In the early '90s it imposed a closure policy on Gaza: Palestinians there could no longer leave without a time-restricted, hard-to-get permit. And Palestinians from other areas were restricted from visiting Gaza as well.
But it was in 2006 when things got really bad. Israel had pulled its soldiers and settlers out of Gaza the year before, while still controlling the borders, the air space, and the economy. The Palestinian group Hamas, which has a military wing that fights the Israeli occupation, won Palestinian elections and took over Gaza. In response, Israel took its policies to the next level.
The only power plant was bombed. Travel was banned. Most imports and exports were blocked - forcing most of Gaza's factories to shut down. Fishermen couldn't fish beyond a very limited area. Supplies of fuel and electricity were reduced so much that people converted their cars to run on cooking oil. Even medical supplies were restricted. The Israeli government decided how much food would be let in by calculating how many calories everyone in Gaza would get. As a government advisor at the time said, "The idea is to put the Palestinians on a diet but not make them die of hunger."
These policies crushed Gaza's economy. It now has the highest unemployment rate in the world, and more than half the people live under the poverty line. Even materials to build infrastructure like sewage treatment plants have been held back, so raw sewage is pumped into the sea.
In 2012, the United Nations said that if things didn’t get better, Gaza would be unlivable by 2020. Instead, things got even worse. There have been several major military assaults by Israel on Gaza. Israel says the goal of these assaults is to limit Hamas’ ability to fight. Thousands of civilians have been killed, and tens of thousands of homes destroyed in these assaults. Israeli officials call it, “mowing the lawn.”
But even when the assaults stop, supplies to rebuild are often prevented by Israel from entering the territory.
For a while, Gazans built a tunnel economy under Egypt border, smuggling in everything from urgently needed supplies to weapons to even fast food from Egypt. But the Egyptian government eventually flooded many of the tunnels and even destroyed one of its own border towns to cut off these supplies.
About half of Gaza’s population are children, meaning they’ve only ever known life under this blockade. They’ve never known a full day with electricity. They know when the bombing starts, there’s nowhere for them to flee. They know that when they get older, they’re probably not going to find work. They likely will not be able to leave Gaza or even meet Palestinians from other parts of their country. They know what it’s like living in the world’s biggest prison.

People keep saying that Israel has the right to defend themselves… from what? From people under 26 who weren’t even old enough to vote? From the 18- individuals who are literally fighting for their lives when they are barely adults? From the reporters and the journalists who are literally kids themselves, but the stress of the genocide has aged them so fast that it’s showing on their faces?
I saw a video of this little 10-11 year old girl whose mother died and she recognised her by her hair. She said she had lost everyone in her family and she wished that she would’ve gone with her mom. Is she who Israel is fighting against?
I saw a man carrying his own children in plastic grocery bags. HIS OWN KIDS.
I’ve seen that IDF has bombed the fishermen’s boats, poisoning the waters and the fish with the chemicals and the phosphorus. Is the water Hamas? Are the fish Hamas? Are the fisherman Hamas?
One thing I know for certain is that once the Gazans get to the south of Gaza, they will be trapped. I feel like Israel is basically rounding them up in one place and is going to kill them together. I hope I am wrong.
The thing is this has been Netanyahu's (and you could argue Israel's as a whole) plan from the beginning. they want that entire land for themselves. And the argument of Israel has a right to defend themselves goes straight out the window when u see how long they have been attacking Palestine and how slowly bit by bit year by year they've taken up more land and held up the apartheid state in which Palestinians now live in. They want to blame hamas but fail to realize that Palestinians have no vote, no political voice, they can't even walk their land freely. they have no power and the western media wants to act like they're on equal footing THEY ARE NOT PALESTINIANS CAN BARELY EVEN POST ABOUT THEIR LIVES ON THE INTERNET WITHOUT GETTING THEIR COMMUNICATION CUT OFF that does not seem like someone u need protection from when they' don't even know where their next meal is coming from and they don't even have money or work

大家好! Hummus is a Middle Eastern dish that I tried before the covid pandemic. It was yummy but remained an afterthought before Israel's genocide in Gaza began. As I learnt more about Palestinians' and Lebanese's struggle for their sovereignty, 1 way to show support for them is to embrace their food because food bonds all of us. For my second breakfast after exercise, I cut up some celery, added 2 ajitsuke tamago for protein and nutrients and included a potato bun for carbohydrates, along with hummus as a dip and spread. Hummus is ridiculously delicious with the pillowy bun. This meal kept me so full that I skipped lunch and only felt a little hungry at dinnertime.

Grandma's birthday falls in December. Auntie, Pa and I remembered her over a sumptuous lunch at a Hokkien restaurant Grandpa used to bring us to when he was with us. Over hearty fish maw soup (super rich in collagen), crispy hae cho (prawn rolls), spring rolls, ngor hiang (pork rolls), as well as steamed pomfret and braised Hokkien mee, we kept their memories alive. Their steamed pomfret was as fresh as when Mummy and I visited in November to remember Grandpa during his birthday month. The fish maw soup was also ridiculously good. It was a feast to remember; I look forward to returning next year!

ML, MI and I returned to the stall which serves excellent ban mian (board noodles). I chose you mian (thin board noodles) with fish. After a few months of not eating this, I was reacquainted with what made me love it. Generous portions of fresh, tender fish, sweet and crunchy Napa cabbage as well as QQ slurpable noodles for $5.50? Yes please! The last time I stepped into a fastfood restaurant was 4 July 2023; it's been over 17 months now. Even with their $5 deals, I'm not tempted to return because I can get nutritious, moderately healthy meals that are lower in saturated fat that cost just a little more than fastfood promos. This was so delicious!

For Christmas lunch, the whole company was treated to a hotel buffet. They chartered a bus to ferry us to the venue and back. I seized the opportunity to load up on my favourite foods - seafood and vegetables! The pork rib soup with black beans and peanuts was especially good; most of us had at least 1 bowl of it. For dessert, I was delighted to see they served green apples and grabbed 1. Since I don't have a sweet tooth, fruit that isn't too sweet is extremely welcome. All that fibre kept me full till past dinner time. I had a light evening meal comprising a potato bun with coriander hummus, carrot sticks and tau kwa (firm tofu) to avoid bloating.

This Christmas period has been a strange one. For the first time since I moved into my home, none of my neighbours are playing Christmas carols and no festive lights adorn their condo units. Perhaps, like me, they're not in the mood to celebrate the occasion together with people who support the genocide in Gaza. It's X'mas eve today; the office has granted everyone the afternoon off. I'll spend it running errands and having an early night. There's nothing festive about Christmas when so many Palestinians are still dying, there's nothing to celebrate. 下次见!

First off:
Current Israeli government = Bad
Antisemitism = Bad
Hamas = Bad
Zionism = Bad
Ok, now... the Hamas using civilians as human shields and that being the main reason civilian deaths are so high narrative is just wrong. Has it happened? Yes. But Israel has the capacity to be highly precise with killing Hamas operatives and leaders when it wants to... but dropping a hospital on 100 people to MAYBE kill 5 members of Hamas who may or may not even exist is collective punishment. And I've seen too many videos of Israeli snipers picking off children and old women who were just trying to find food to believe most things they claim nowadays (is Hamas just invisible now?). Like when they claim that members of the press that they blew the heads off of were "totally Hamas you guys! Trust us!" Or claiming that it's totally ok to SA to the point of paralysis people just suspected of being Hamas (not charged, sometimes released back into Gaza or the West Bank).
That being said, Nazis are 100% using the stupid shit the Israeli government is doing as a way to spread antisemitism. And just as I can't possibly imagine what life is like for the people of Gaza, I figure that being a Jew right now isn't exactly a fun time (when has it ever been?).
Obviously it doesn't compare to the plight of the Palestinians right now.
But you're in a tough spot. Speaking out either way puts a target on your back. And I'm sorry.
There's a perspective you see that others don't.
And there's a perspective we see that you don't.
We all have our biases.
There is a lot of evil happening right now. And way too many people are caught in the middle.
>the Hamas using civilians as human shields and that being the main reason civilian deaths are so high narrative is just wrong. Has it happened? Yes.
??????????????????????????????????????
LMAO
"the sky isn't blue. is it blue? yes." what.
look, i really think you need to re-read my post. you seem really nice, and i believe your heart is in the right place. but i think you kind of misunderstood what i was trying to say.
no one is saying atrocities aren't happening over there. literally no one is saying that. i don't understand how you could read my post and think that i'm OKAY with what's happening over there. or that i somehow need to be reminded that people are dying.
what i was saying was the path is to criticize netanyahu. his tactics are wrong. his strategy is bad. but you don't dismantle the entire state because he sucks. you get rid of him. you overturn his policies. you wipe out his cabinet. you put someone else there who doesn't use fucking white phosphorous. he should be locked up for life for that alone. his aggression is unforgivable.
and i know that that's like. less catchy and less sexy. and it also carries with it a sense of powerlessness, because we from the sidelines can't get rid of netanyahu. even US officials can't do that, and so putting pressure on them is pointless, too, which makes us feel more powerless. only the israeli people can get rid of him. and even they can't until 2026 (unless netanyahu somehow miraculously grows a conscience and a sense of self-awareness and resigns, which won't happen because he's a fucking garbage human). and that sucks. and it's hard. no one wants the solution to be "you just have to wait."
but we can't change him. we can't change him as a person, and we can't swap out his position of power. we just can't.
and yes, shitty people also exist in israel. they also exist in the israeli army. no one is saying otherwise. but the fish rots from the head down. atrocities are happening because he allows them.
so people go "well then just cut off their weaponry" -- but it's not that simple. because the geopolitics of the region aren't that simple. one of the things i was criticizing was the lack of nuance that goes into people's thinking about this. people are looking at this in a vacuum. people are looking at this and going "well, what the israeli government is doing is bad, so we just need to stop it by any means necessary." but you can't just... do that, unfortunately. the region is too complicated, the situation is too nuanced. you can't just. do that.
and like. that sucks.
but the more the situation gets boiled down to "we need to just stop this" the more it paints the existence of the entire state of israel -- not just its leadership -- as "the enemy." and then it expands out from there
it's just
as a jew, i've heard this joke before.

Ether 15: 24-27. "The Strawberries."
Tumblr media
We spent some time on the Seven Noachide Laws which establish a moral backbone for all cultures. One of them mandates we employ courts of law in order to protect people from criminals. In contemporary society this mechanism includes a long list of human rights protections every nation must abide by in order to be achieve recognition and engage in commerce with others.
Palestine, for example, does not abide by human rights laws. It has plain and simply refused. It cannot be recognized by other nations. This causes a conflict of opinion over whether or not a human life has value such as it is, and every civilized person agrees that it does.
In America, we continue to think we need to protect abortion rights and gay rights and avoid unfortunate encounters between guns and their victims, but there is existing leglislation that has settled these matters. It is the courts of law that are fumbling the ball, including the White House which just can't seem to get any of this right.
As the Book of Mormon says and as the law says, if a politician or an organization engages in a human rights violation like Pro-Life, they need to be arrested and the activity needs to be ended. There is no need to free Palestine or listen to this river to the sea horsehittery bleated out by retarded white kids. Palestine is a lawless place that needs a proper constitution and government over its head and the Noachide Laws require. These are the accoutrements that make a people free, not witless activists. This has long been the argument against a Palestinian free state by the people of Israel and it is legitimate.
The passage below says it takes three hours in Torah Time for such a conclusion to be drawn, how the Noachide Laws must be applied.
Three hours are "until one enters the House of Israel."
One hour=433, דגג‎, dagg, "a school of fish."
Two hours=1478, אד‎זח, adzah, "until the one"
Three hours=626, ו‎בו, is in Eretz Israel." ‎‎
The arguments over the violence and apartheid happening on the earth will not, as I said, end until we do what is needed in the world's courthouses. Also called Swords are shields, justice and human rights laws are not being used to their full capacity.
Without them, mankind is just a school of aimless sardines waiting for the sharks.
24 And it came to pass that they slept upon their swords that night, and on the morrow they fought again, and they contended in their might with their swords and with their shields, all that day.
25 And when the night came there were thirty and two of the people of Shiz, and twenty and seven of the people of Coriantumr.
26 And it came to pass that they ate and slept, and prepared for death on the morrow. And they were large and mighty men as to the strength of men.
27 And it came to pass that they fought for the space of three hours, and they fainted with the loss of blood.
To faint from a loss of blood is to enter a state of disbelief in the savagery still present on this earth. President BIden's daily Eggo Waffle on the circumstances in Gaza, for example, are an example of a cause of fainting.
Tumblr media
Those Mormons and their friends in Gaza have to die for what they did. Every last one of them. None must remain. The world has to see.
The Values in Gematria are:
v. 24: They contended in their might with their swords and with their shields, all that day. The Number is 11892, יאחט‎ב, yahtev, "will cut."
v. 25:  And when the night came there were thirty and two of the people of Shiz, and twenty and seven of the people of Coriantumr.
Thirty and two of the people of Shiz (the Shitty People)=2824, בחבד‎ ‎"with pleasure." '
Twenty and seven of the people of Coriantumr (the return to innocence)= גדדח, gedadh, "everyone assemble to witness",
The Number is 8819, חחאט‎, khahat, "as one",
v. 26: And they were large and mighty men as to the strength of men. The Number is 6969, ו‎טוט‎‎, "veto and tut" "strawberries" from ashtut, "to light a torch and put the feet at ease."
‎‎ "The noun עשתות ('ashtut), assumed to mean a thought. It's used only in the enigmatic statement of Job 12:5, where Job wryly observes that he is a laughing stock among his friends; "the upright one is a mockery, as a torch is despised for the עשתות ('ashtut) of the eased-ones, prepared for stumbling feet".
Job doesn't simply speak of the "thoughts" of those who are at ease, but of their very state of being at ease. Because of that state, they despise a torch that stands by in case someone would come down with a bad case of flop-feet.
The feminine noun עשתון ('eshtona), also assumed to mean a thought. This noun occurs only in Psalm 146:4, where a man's breath fails him and he returns to the earth. "In that day his עשתון ('eshtona) perishes". It seems unlikely that the man's thoughts perish when he returns to the earth. His thoughts either keep going in the hereafter, or else they perished when he died, not when he's buried. It's not the men's thoughts that perish but his bodily consistency.
The noun עשתי ('ashte) is a special case. It never occurs alone but always attached to the word עשר ('eser) or עשרה ('asara), meaning ten. The whole compound עשתי־עשר ('ashte 'eser) means eleven, but it should be noted that the Hebrew number sense was quite different than ours. That's probably why they could have two different words for eleven, namely also אחד עשר ('ehad 'eser), made from the much more common word for one אחד ('ehad). But although our word עשתי ('ashte) doesn't occur alone, it's usage in the sense of one makes it a perfectly fitting member of the group of words that have to do with cohesion, solidness or continuity."
v. 27: And it came to pass that they fought for the space of three hours, and they fainted with the loss of blood.
The Number is 5052, ןןב, nev, "the well."
We want to dig a well and take the water from it and never worry about water again. Social justice is the same way. This tug of war mankind seems to always find itself in is asinine, especially since we have long since had laws the protect human rights.
Pro Life is illegal. Same sex marriage is legal. People can transition if they want or feel they must. Anti-Semitism is illegal, war is illegal, weapons are illegal, cheating in elections is illegal, engaging in sieges of the government is illegal, pedophilia is illegal, organized crime like the "government" in Palestine is illegal.
Why then are so many of these issues lingering on our planet? Because the Sword of Justice has grown dull, and the precise value of an individual human life has become blurry.
The Prophet struggled with all of this 200 years ago. His response was "With pleasure, cut out the crime, as one witness the lighting of the torch and put your stumbling feet at ease."

If you had actually been paying attention to Gaza instead of using them for your own fuckwitted agenda you would know that they've been telling us to fucking stop participating in this Western grift of "humanitarian aid" when nothing can get through the blockades and all they have to get all of this to stop is to call a ceasefire. It is utterly depraved to offer """aid""" especially via donations when the US is sending BILLIONS to Israel to continue dropping a quantity of bombs twice the size of Hiroshima. They do not have food or water because not only did Israel pour concrete in the wells and cut off water and electricity but they're bombing the remaining stores of grain and solar panels and fishing boats. They have nothing to eat or drink and Biden's not even pushing for that "'''''humanitarian pause""""" let alone ceasefire and there's no way you could get enough aid for two million people with tens of thousands gravely injured to them even if the blockades opened tomorrow. In fact Gazans on social media screaming for help while death rains from the skies keep seeing posts for useless donations (so that they can be blown up in comfort I guess) like some kind of sick joke and it's rightfully starting to make them hate us. So fucking stop using people who are actively being genocided by your country for whatever petty asshole fandom clown discourse you're fixated on and get out there AND PROTEST FOR A GODDAMN CEASEFIRE.
This entire fandom discourse from BOTH ENDS is just a self-serving grift. Black and brown lives are mere props for all of you to use and ignore whenever you feel like it, rather than real, entire suffering human beings.
can i be real? i think ao3 should die for doing a donation pool for themselves with everything going on

Another had his genitals bitten by a security dog while a third man was left wheelchair-bound and unrecognizable.…The torture of detainees, though often denied by Israeli officials, is technically illegal. Yet, a loophole provided in the same 1999 Israeli Supreme Court ruling that made the practice illegal has allowed it to continue, as the ruling only prohibited torture of detainees unless there was suspicion of an imminent attack. This loophole has routinely been used by Shin Bet, especially given that Shin Bet officials who engage in the practice have done so for decades with impunity. Indeed, while over one thousand official complaints against the Shin Bet related to its use of torture have been filed since 2001, only one has ever gone to court — a 2017 case which is still open. In addition, the use of torture has been supported by a cadre of doctors who work with Shin Bet by approving brutal interrogation tactics, falsifying medical reports and engaging in other activities that provide justifications for the use of extreme and internationally-condemned interrogation methods. Their support would also likely help protect Shin Bet officials in the event that more of these torture cases ever went to court.”
