*Revenge is permissible on the condition that it is carried out in a lawful manner, and that it is proportionate to the injustice and crime that was committed, without exceeding it, however what is better and has a great reward is to forgive. If the retaliation involves exceeding what was done by the oppressor and taking back more than his rights then in this case it is blameworthy, sinful and the oppressed becomes the oppressor. Additionally, the permissibility of retaliation is not unrestricted but will depend on who has oppressed and the type of oppression they committed.

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ الملائكة تصلي على أحدكم ما دام في مصلاه الذي صلى فيه ما لم يحدث تقول اللهم اغفر له اللهم ارحمه‏"‏ ‏(‏(‏رواه البخاري‏)

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The angels supplicate in favour of one of you so long as he remains in the place where he has performed Salat (prayer) in a state of Wudu'. They (the angels) say: 'O Allah! Forgive him, O Allah! Have mercy on him."'

Upon completing the ablution

اللّهُـمَّ اجْعَلنـي مِنَ التَّـوّابينَ وَاجْعَـلْني مِنَ المتَطَهّـرين I O Allah, make me among those who turn to You in repentance, and make me among those who are purified.

Book review - The Sealed Nectar

Perhaps one of the best books on the Seerah (life of the prophet saw)

The book covers his day to day life, key events in Islamic history, the spread of Islam, the Prophet (saw) interacted with Companions and family, his role as a leader, as well as his characteristics and mannerisms.

The more you learn about the life of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him), the more you learn about his devotion to his Lord and his concern for all of humankind.

This book is available in most languages and good for those seeking awareness about Prophet saw, as it is easy to navigate and all stories/Hadith are fully referenced.

I purchased this book in English for myself and in Urdu for my mum from Darussalam book store ❤️

Book review - The Great women of Islam by Mahood Ahmed Ghafanfor

This was one of the first box I added to my collection.

It is an excellent book for any muslimah, and gives us a deep inside into the lives and roles of female companions, wife’s and a strong/pious figures throughout the Islamic history.  This book is extremely easy to read, and it’s broken down into small chapters, describing the life and key points of each woman, also includes fully referenced Hadith.

This book does not go into a very deep explanation of each female figure, instead it gives a 4 to 6 page overview, making it concise, manageable and great for a new beginner.

I purchased this from Darussalam books online.
