Did we ever find out what exactly Luffy said that was the "very same words" as Roger? Luffy's flashback after Marineford makes it clear that there's something extra to Luffy's dream that we don't know about yet, I'm guessing it's related to this

How does the soulmate system work in your game? Is it something prophetic? I'm just really invested the dynamics which will arise later since you also mentioned amnesia
you can assume it’s something which is written in the stars. at least in this universe, the fates have already prophesied everything about meeting your soulmate and how it’s supposed to pan out.
it is as beautiful as it can be tragic. for example, there will be a lot of mentions of ‘hearts’. when it comes to romantic love, your heart will be full of love for your soulmate and it’s a feeling that can never be faked or replicated. if one of them dies tragically, the other’s heart will literally break, and they shall be incapable of truly loving anybody else in that regard, ever. the term ‘heartless’ is typically used to describe them as most of them become very cynical and, at times, cruel individuals.
i will say that these mostly apply to people who are connected to arcane in some ways. most mortals don’t really have anything as dramatic as this written for them and have pretty normal love lives.

Higher
"Higher, ada, higher!" Elwing giggled as Dior carefully threw her into the air.
The King of Doriath chuckled in response as he fulfilled his princess' wish. "Even higher? Won't you turn into a bird and fly away then, my sweet?" he asked, his violet eyes crinkling with laughter.

im probably being insane and reading too much into this but is it common for andraste to be referred to as maferaths "heart"???? you know. maferath the BETRAYER. calling his lover his HEART. because uhhhhhhhh i can think of another very significant great betrayer who also calls his lover, the herald of andraste, his heart...
im not even sure what this metaphor is supposed to mean or if "his heart" even refers to andraste, it could definitely just be a way of saying maferath had become heartless and "devoured" by jealousy and thats why he did nothing to save her, but the language is so familiar? genuine question if this is done in other places in the lore because it seems a little bit of a suspicious parallel???

I'm reading A Lonely Place of Dying and Alfred latching immediately onto Tim is NASTY work. Tim shows up and is like "I never aimed to be Robin! I mean I did karate my whole life to emulate Robin and just so happen to have sought you out and grabbed this costume in my size out from that case and really you should be calling me Robin just for now and let me come with you as Robin but I never dreamed it would specifically be ME being Robin. You have a lovely house and home btw :) Now go back to being 10." And Dick's understandably like "No I am a grown man now who are you" and Bruce is not here for this one, but later on is like "You aren't Robin, you're some kid dressed up like my dead son." But Alfred?
IMMEDIATELY Alfred is implying Dick was trying to subtly ask Tim to be Robin (simply not true in in NTT 61, when the implication is made, although he changes his mind in Batman 442) and that Bruce should be grateful for this young man's profound bravery and immense natural skill and maybe show him a few pointers or something idk we'll see :) Like let's be clear, the idea that Tim didn't want to be Robin is simply not part of this story outside of like two lines of dialogue where he's like "oh I didn't consider it could be me!" after which he immediately goes "Wow so you ARE gonna let me be Robin right?" the second he sees the opportunity. The guy essentially makes himself Robin once Dick makes it clear he isn't gonna be. Dick tells Tim nobody should be at first (until he changes his mind) but is ignored because Tim doesn't get why and goes with what he understands, his own stance.
I'm of the opinion that the whole "Tim understands that being Robin is an arduous task full of suffering from the start and chooses to bravely yet sadly martyr himself for the cause" thing I see sometimes is strongly disproven, at least in the beginning of his Robin career, by his "Batman NEEDS a Robin (to love and care for and to watch out for him in return :) )" line of reasoning, his subsequent willingness for Anybody to be Robin whether or not it was him (unless he was consciously okay with other children suffering for his benefit which I find really hard to believe,) and his active glee at anything involving being Robin and persistent smiling pursuit of Doing So against Batman's strong disapproval, because he hasn't officially said no (he did several times, but you can't blame a kid for being excited.) Like, I think he said he never dreamed of being Robin just because having a kid come in begging to replace Batman's dead son because it was a personal aspiration would be extraordinarily rude and arrogant and they wanted people to like this one. He was NOT in any way adverse they just couldn't make him THAT presumptuous, and he is by nature of what he's doing already moderately so.
But say it was true, that Tim was actively opposed to being Robin? Alfred would be pushing this shit HARD onto this thirteen year old kid like what the fuck bro. And "From what Master Richard said, he follows your orders." is HEINOUS but let's not get into that.
#of all the robins so far Bruce has foisted Robin on Tim is by far the least Foisted#“Even if he's right I dont want another Robin” vs “He doesn't want me but he hasn't told me no yet :)”#“You can't kill batman or nightwing!” “Or Robin?? :D”#bro is literally “And Bumblebee!”#tim says he never wanted it for himself but he actively seeks out being Robin so I think that's like “oh i never imagined”#^I've finished reading through and other dialogue directly confirms this#“yeah it hasn't occurred to be that I could ever be Robin but yk just in case-ies I've been actively preparing to be Robin half my life”#I considered the “being robin is a burden” angle to that line but if that IS what he's saying#it would be pretty fucked up that he'd be okay with anyone being Robin him or not. Like he doesn't come into this AIMING to be Robin#because he's never thought about it#and he clearly has no sense of why Dick is saying no so I can't fully buy into that#I guess the best answer rlly is him being like “oh little old me being robin? :o well gosh golly im doing that now”#i mean the actual best answer is “whoops fuck actually people want Robin back in the story egg on our face with that one”#but yk. in universe#“if they think they can kill Robin with no repercussions who will they hunt down next!”#I mean. They can do that. It becomes a major issue that they can in fact do that with no repercussions. They would be right because its tru#In his first story Tim is ALREADY hyping up the cops as an impregnable force. This is subtle Chuck Dixon foreshadowing#tim drake#batman#dc comics#alfred pennyworth

This is a pretty off-hand statement, but it sets up one of the most important moments of Sabaody, when Luffy makes it very clear that he wants to discover what's ahead for himself rather than be told

i needed to write a thing. @seeking-elsewhither this one's for you
The sea outside Kamino Fortress was dark and vast and cold. Yet, somehow, from it had come the brightest and warmest creature that Crosshair had ever found himself blessed enough to hold in his arms.
It mattered not that she had awoken him from his precious few hours of sleep; it mattered not that, as they sat in the alcove of their quarters' singular arched window and gazed out into the darkness beyond, his sharp eyes were still half-lidded and on the verge of closing completely. What mattered was her utter fascination with the bioluminescent jellyfish whose light had first awoken her, and who she had dragged him out of his bunk to watch, and who she now fixed her amber gaze upon with bright eyes full of wonder.
Sleepily, he mused that it was the closest she'd yet come to seeing the stars.
Her tiny hand shifted in his grasp and came to rest upon his ring, and she almost started in surprise. This was not the warm, calloused hand of her buir- this was something smooth and cold and different. It should not be there. Why was it there? And she was no longer looking at the jellyfish, but at the plain grey band, and with her tiny, chubby hands, was trying to pry it off his finger.
The expression on her little round face was so serious for one so small; it puckered her lips and wrinkled her brow in such a comical way that Crosshair couldn't help but laugh softly. It hadn't occurred to her that the chains that wrapped over his hand and around his wrist kept the ring tightly tethered to his finger, and for good reason. Were it ever to be removed, surely he would die; the very fibers of his being would begin to unravel and his heart would cease to beat. (She would learn this, when she was old enough- she, too, wore a ring, but around her neck instead of her finger, and stamped with a singular Ω instead of the sequence of numbers- the IX.IX~IV- that differentiated him from all his brethren.) Though she hardly knew it, she was playing with his very life.
But he was not in the least disturbed. He was too half-asleep for that, and besides, his chains were too carefully fitted for any possibility of ring removal. Were they not such a vital part of his very existence, he might have compared their security to that of a shackle- but he was getting away from himself. Omega could play with his very life all she wanted- and, even were there not the assurance that his chains would hold
he would be perfectly at peace.
"Omega," he whispered, gently pulling his hand from her tiny grasp. She squeaked a little, and raised her chubby little arms to try to grab at the ring once more, but he tucked a stray sunshiny curl behind her ear and turned her soft round face to look at him.
"Omega," he murmured again, "'tis late, cyare, and the jellyfish have gone. Hunter surely would have a fit were he to wake and find us here at the coming of the morn. 'Tis high time we returned to bed- what say you, ad'ika?"
Omega's eyes had not left his ring. She scowled at it- still, he knew, she found it too cold and alien against his warm tanned skin. But after a moment, she heaved a sigh too big for her little body, and curled in close to his chest.
"Wif' you," she mumbled, and oh, it almost broke his heart. She knew so very little speech.
With a tired smile, he wrapped her tight in his arms and carried her back to his bunk, and indeed, it was not very long before they both had drifted deep into sleep. Crosshair's hand- the one that bore his ring- was tangled in her pale and wispy curls. She need not worry about its presence there. Certainly she would someday realize that something as little as a plain iron band could never come between her hand and his.
The very thought was unthinkable.
