Every day I yearn so deeply to know why Astral is the way she is

I hate that I love her for being so full of hate

I am truly delighted by the people who love-hate Astral because thats exactly how I feel about her lol

Astral grew up Visibly Different and a mindreader, so she constantly knew what others thought of her and it often wasn’t pleasant. So somewhere along the way she was like “Okay! I’m going to start being Weird and Upsetting on purpose”.

as an adult she started using her seer and mindreader abilities to con and extort people and made a bit of a name for herself doing it (as one of the last seers surviving post Seer Massacre of 5421 P.S.)

after trying to extort the wrong person (Queen Diamondsight) she was wrongfully imprisoned and had a bit of a Cassandra moment where she was like ‘NO, I KNOW IM KNOWN FOR BEING A LIAR BUT I WAS TELLING THE TRUTH WHEN I SAID THERE WAS A COUP AGAINST YOU!!’ No one believed her, coup happened, Diamondsight died and in the chaos the prison entrance collapsed and Astral was abandoned there Now Astral has been ruminating in a dungeon for a while, struggling a LOT from the isolation, and she’s decided she’s very very angry and very very bored. Cue Stygian

TLDR: Astral is a jerk who’s jerk-like qualities were exacerbated tenfold after mild psychological torture
