FREE PALESTINE MASTERPOST
Trying to keep this blog more art- and creativity-focused in general, so I'll be removing the Gaza-related reblogs that are about a month old. But I'll use this post as a permanent archive that will update periodically (some of this information will grow dated as the situation develops, but I think it's important to keep a record of just how fiercely opposed people were to Israel's actions from this moment forward). We should all continue to raise our voices about this, and refuse to support politicians who enable genocide. Remember, they work for us, not the other way around. Keep going.

From the archive.
London 1967.
'Gypsy' Joe O'Connor Jr poses for a photograph with his Irish grandfather, a heavyweight champ in his day and who also wrestled under the name Gypsy Joe.
This photo was taken before Sexy Joe Jr had his first match outside the UK, in Saudi Arabia, along with some other UK and Irish Pro Wrestlers, who faced off against local talent.
Joe was badly beaten by his opponent.
His opponent (below) had multiple opportunities to pin Joe, however he was keen to make an example out of him in front of the home crowd and local dignitaries, so he would pull him up by the hair before the three count, and at one point spat in his face when he had Joe tied up in the ropes, adding to the humiliation.
The ref turned a blind eye to the closed fist punches, hair pulling and eye gouging.
The audience enjoyed seeing the foreigner suffer.

The first Pride protest/parade took place on the 27th of June 1974, when a tiny group protested the existence of old Victorian legislation that criminalised any form of intimacy between men. There were only 10 brave protesters who picketed the British Embassy and the Department of Justice. One member was David Norris, a great hero of the story of Queer Ireland.
This year in 2024 we celebrate 50 years of Pride in Ireland! Happy Pride yall!

Laethanta na BĂł RiabhaĂ / The Days of the Brindled Cow
Photo of a cow with a brindle coat from uisneach.ie
The Days of the Brindled Cow is an Irish folktale that explains the often unpredictable weather at the turn of March into April. It's also sometimes called the riabhĂłg (meaning streaked, striped, or brindled) days or the borrowed/borrowing days.
From Duchas.ie
The "Borrowing Days" are the first three days of April. The weather during these three days is cold and often colder than March itself. On this account it is said that March has borrowed these three days from April to kill the Old Cow.
The old story says that when the Old Cow was let out to graze she kicked up her heels and ran through the field with joy because March was out.
But March borrowed three days from April and killed the Old Cow.
These three days are called thus, The "Borrowing Days".

The Ghost of You
Chapter 4
Moodboard by: @imnotoverlyobsessive
Warnings: haunted house, not proofread
âAh, yes. Iâve seen him before. Timothee Chalamet was his name. Famous local painter. Handsome lad, wasnât he?â a local historian with a name tag that read Edith Helms said. She had a light Irish accent and smelled like antiques and moth balls, which seemed like a perfect fit for this job. âNot in person of course, but we have several archived photos of him and his wife when they moved here to New York in the late 1800s.âÂ
Edith got up from her spinning office chair and walked slowly through the building. She waved back at you, signaling you to follow.Â
âHe was married?â You asked. You thought back to the paintings in the attic, not remembering any paintings of anyone else other than the one that looked like you. Chills covered your entire body at the thought of the painting sitting in the attic for 140 years. A painting that looked just like you down to your freckles on your face and the shape of your nose. It didnât seem possible.Â
âOh yes.â Edith said, as she entered a room filled with filing cabinets. She stopped at one and pulled open a long drawer. She grabbed a pair of white gloves from the pouch of her fanny back and delicately dug through the files. âHere we are,â she said.Â
She pulled out a rather hefty file with âT. Chalametâ written on the tab. You shuddered.Â
âHe and Gertrude were married for several years.âÂ
Edith pulled out an old photo. Black and white with similar yellowing edges to the photo you found. Timothee stood next to Gertrude, his arm around her in front of the very house you lived in.Â
âHere you go dear,â Edith said, pulling out a second pair of gloves for you. You slid them on and took the photo into your hands. Timothee looked about the same as he did in your photo. He was standing in this one, He stood about a foot and a half taller than Gertrude and was very lean. He wore a similar suit, only this one looked to dark. Gertrude wore a dark colored floor length skirt that poofed out around her and stopped midway up her torso where a white blouse began. It went up her neck much like a how a turtleneck would, and her sleeves were baggy and gathered at her wrists. She had a pinched nose and wide smile on her face She looked happy...almost too happy. But most of all, she looked nothing like you. You looked back over at Timothee, who wasnât smiling at all. âWeâve dated this photo to about 1880, right after Mayfield Manor was completed.â Edith shook her head and clicked her tongue. âIt is quite a shame they only lived together for two years.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âGertrude remarried and moved to Spain according to our records.â
âAnd Timothee?â
âNo one knows. He disappeared in 1882. Poor man was married to a Mayfield. Lord, she probably drove him mad. Mayfieldâs were known for being a very unpleasant bunch. Difficult to please and hard to get along with.âÂ
You came there with questions but only felt like you gained a million more. You were about to ask what she meant when she handed you back your photo of Timothee.
âIâve not seen this particular photo you came in with though. If the date on there is correct...this may be the last photograph taken of him. Let us know when youâd like to sell, and weâd be glad to buy it off of you for our records.â Edith patted your shoulder and began to walk off. âFeel free to look through his file, just close the drawer up when youâre finished and bring me the key, deary.âÂ
You waited until Edithâs footsteps faded into silence before digging into his file. For some reason it felt like something you needed to do in private. One by one, you pulled out old photos, sketches and drawings all signed T. Chalamet in the bottom right corner. You found several documents containing signatures and information regarding paints heâd sold. You flipped through them all until you landed on one that stood out from the rest. It had the same paper, brownish and wrinkling with age. Heâd sold it to a man named Ralph Beechman, the same man who bought all of his other paintings, but what was different about this sale was Timotheeâs signature, which on every document before this one was signed as âT. Chalametâ. This document contained a quick, sloppy and full âTimothee Chalamet.âÂ
You looked back up at the details. The title of this painting was Her and it was sold in 1882. In the top right corner, you noticed a stamp in dark ink.Â
âTransferred to the Poughkeepsie local art museum in 2015âł
You looked over your shoulder and quickly snapped a picture of the document with your phone and made a mental note to visit the museum later on in the week. You closed up the drawer and locked it with the key Edith left.Â
âThank you so much, Edith. I appreciate it!â You said as dropping off the key at the front desk.Â
âOh no problem at all dear,â she responded in her lilting accent. âIf I may ask you a question before you leave?âÂ
âOf course.â
She stood and you walked back to her desk. She had a look in her eyes that you couldnât quite place.Â
âIâve just been thinking about it since you mentioned it. Did you said you found that photograph in your attic?â
âYeah. It was in the attic in a small painters bag,â you said, careful to leave out any details about ghosts.Â
âHuh,â Edith said. âQuite curious.âÂ
âWhat do you mean?âÂ
âSeveral historians have gone into Mayfield Manor over the years. As well as detectives and investigators. You know, attempting to find out what happened to Timothee.âÂ
âRight,â you said, unable to tell where this was going.Â
âNo one has ever been able to get into that attic.â
You tried hard not to shudder as chills peppered your skin.Â
âR-really? Was it locked?â
âMore than that. It was sealed shut...and you were just able to get in?â
You were silent, and for a moment you wanted to tell her everything that happened, but to save yourself from looking like a person who has gone clinically insane, you swallowed hard and just said, âyeah, I was just able to get in, no issues at all.âÂ
Edith stared at you with an arched eyebrow and for a moment you thought she was going to call you on your bullshit. You gave her a nervous smile and adjusted your old cross-body bag on your shoulder. When she sat back down you relaxed.Â
âSounds like someone wanted you to see what was up there.â
                  đ đ đ
You spent the day walking around town, not sure if you wanted to spend the majority of the day in your obviously haunted house. Edithâs words stuck with you, and you thought about them as you sipped your overpriced coffee and window shopped.Â
It was dark out when you arrived home. You walked, just so it could take longer. You wanted time to think. Time to figure out if buying this house was a mistake and time to remember that it doesnât matter if it was a mistake you couldnât afford to leave now. You shoved your old key into the door and before you had the chance to turn it the door opened on its own. Not violently like it would have before, but gently and almost cautiously. Even so it was creepy as fuck.
âShit.â
To your surprise, no new paintings stood on isles. No messages written on the walls or windows or floors. The house stood the same way you left it and even though the door opening on its own was...startling, you relaxed a little at the lack of messages.Â
âWhat no surprises today? You running out of ideas to freak me the fuck out?â You joked.Â
You plopped yourself down onto your old sofa you picked up at the thrift store and grabbed your laptop. Youâd gotten WIFI installed since you moved in, but still couldnât afford a TV, so your laptop was your next best thing. After scrolling through Netflix and finding nothing to your liking, you decide to google Timothee Chalamet 1882 and pull up a word document to take some notes just incase you found anything interesting. At first thereâs nothing too noteworthy. A Wikipedia page that didnât give you any more information than you found out from the historian. A small online gallery of some paintings that you had already seen. You scrolled down to go to page two when your word document took over the screen.Â
âShitty computer.â
You closed it down only for it to pop back up.Â
âWhat the fu-â
You froze as words began to form on your screen. Words that you were not typing.Â
Freak you out?
You let out a shaky breath and a small yelp and toss your computer across the sofa. You stretched your leg and shut it with your foot. You half expect the laptop to open on its own, so when it doesnât you let out a sigh of relief. You sunk into the sofa and ran your hands down your face, groaning loudly.
Your laptop creeped open, the light from the screen drawing your attention to it. You watched from the other side of the sofa as words began to appear across the screen. You could see the keys push in as if someone was directly in front of it typing. You waited until the words stop to took the computer back into your hands.
Donât be scared.
You let out an exasperated laugh and read the message out loud.
âDonât be scared? My house is fucking haunted and a ghost is typing on my computer.â
The cursor blinked at you on the screen. Mocking you as you waited for the ghost to say something.
What is your name?
âOh my god,â you couldnât help but laugh. âI canât fucking believe this. This literally fucking paranormal instant messaging. Okay. Okay. My name is y/n. God this is so weird. Whatâs your name?â
The cursor blinks five times before a response appears.
T. Chalamet
A heavy knock sounded at your front door, startling you into shutting your computer. You made your way to the doors, unsure of who could be visiting you.
âWho is it?â
âItâs Greg! I brought some pizza and a movie. Thought maybe youâd wanna hang out!â
Typically, you didnât ike uninvited guests, but youâd enjoy the company of something other than a ghost. You undid the locks and your hand grasped the old brass knob, but it didnât budge. You couldnât twist it or pull open the door that opened itâs self a few hours ago. You shook the door pulling on the knob with both hands.
âYou good in there, y/n? Whatâs going on?â
You pressed a foot against the door and shook it again. Nothing.
âIâm good. I justâfuckâI canât get this door open,â you
Apparently someone else doesnât like uninvited guests either.

Image 01: Well, Whatâs Haunting You? Image 02: Our first story comes from Katrina, who took a walk through the woods and ended up with more than she bargained for. Since Katrina had no images to provide us, enjoy instead this beautiful illustration by Arthur Rackham entitled âForest Spiritsâ Image 03: Our second story comes from Karl, who encountered something otherworldly in his childhood home. Karl very kindly sent us some digital recreations he made of the humanoid he encountered. Two images created by Karl of the humanoid he saw. Image 04: Drawing by Karl of what the material the suit was made out of looked like. Image 05: Drawing by Karl of what the beingâs hand and foot looked like Image 06: Drawing by Karl - side view of the humanoid. Image 07: Karlâs childhood home where he saw the creature Image 08: Although Karlâs family has long since moved out of the house and he doesnât know the new owners personally, out of curiosity he checked out the address and realized itâs now an AirBNB! Any British haunties brave enough to spend the night in the attic?
