FASHION CREDITS: "MAYHEM" ALBUM PHOTOSHOOT BY FRANK LEBON

Lady Gaga released the visuals for her seventh studio album, "Mayhem" which is set to be released worldwide on March 7th. For the album photo shoot, Frank Lebon created the portrait of an edgy, introspective and mature woman.

Concerning the costuming, Gaga and stylists Hardstyle opted for textures evocative of dark goth and horror imagery.

For the album's cover, Gaga is seen wearing an intricate blazer dress from Central Saint Martins alumni Mia Coco Chambers' BA 2024 graduate collection.

This jacket is a masterclass in wearable art, blending fashion with sculpture. The black structured silhouette serves as a commanding base, but the true spectacle lies in its ornate embellishments crafted entirely from molded rubber.

The design flourishes with baroque-inspired motifs, teeming with intricate scrolls, florals, and cascading teardrop beads by Simone Rocha. The rubber elements, gleaming with a dark, lacquered finish, resemble hand-carved ebony—luxurious and hauntingly beautiful. The back detailing is particularly opulent, where the patterns unfurl like a gothic garden (Eden?), bursting with movement and vitality. A perfect way to set the tone for the era we just set foot in.

Her black striped mesh and floral lace opera gloves with eyelash border are by Wing & Weft Gloves.

Next, Gaga is looking hauntingly beautiful in a design custom-made by emerging designer ILONA in collaboration with costume designer Seth Pratt!

This dress is a stunning fusion of delicacy and edge. The soft white fabric, paired with intricate lace at the neckline, exudes ethereal romance, while the exaggerated shoulders and airy sleeves add dramatic flair.

The dyed leather garter belt, reminiscent of a harness, introduces a bold, industrial contrast, grounding the softness with structure.

Young designer Mario Marquina's jacket is a bold fusion of tradition and innovation, reinterpreting the rich heritage of Spanish bullfighting attire through an avant-garde, deconstructed lens. Using six meters of thick blue denim he had saved for years, he spent an entire week meticulously bleaching the fabric to achieve a raw, distressed white tone before embarking on the garment’s construction.

Drawing inspiration from authentic torero jackets, Marquina maintained key historical details while radically transforming the silhouette into an oversized, zero-waste design. With only a single sketch and two base patterns—the bodice and sleeves—he allowed the rest of the creative process to flow intuitively, making each detail a reflection of spontaneity and craftsmanship.

The jacket is part of his Spring/Summer 2022 "Freak Show" collection, a conceptual exploration of destruction and reinvention, where references to Spanish culture and vintage circus aesthetics are filtered through a darker, more subversive perspective. The collection thrives on contrasts—between construction and deconstruction, tradition and rebellion, and aggressive yet refined detailing.

The white constructed bodysuit with sheer panels, she wore underneath, is from Dilara Findikoglu's Fall/Winter 2024 "Femme Vortex" collection.

Her incredible My Mom's Shoes wooden and silk scrunchy platform shoes, inspired by old-school clogs, are from Institut Français de la Mode alumni Kelly Sitbon's graduate collection titled "Comme Maman!", telling the story of a child playing dress-up inside its mothers closet. Leather jackets being turned inside-out, hair scrunchies used to keep the big shoes sturdy, lampshades used as hats and tablecloths painted with crayon worn as dresses.

Her jewelry here is by DOSIS G6C. She wore a pair of the Chessboard white-gold and diamond earrings from their "Chess" collection...

...as well as the 58.77g per Dose 9k white-gold necklace with sapphires and aquamarine from their "Catch" collection ($2,052).

Introducing to you: Brian De Carvalho and his Fall/Winter 2024 "Tormentum" collection which explores gothic deconstruction, using raw edges, burnt fabrics, and distressed finishes to symbolize the tension between restriction and freedom. With structured silhouettes softened by delicate details, the collection juxtaposes pain and beauty, reflecting themes of societal constraints and human resilience.

This coat is crafted from burnout velvet, featuring a semi-sheer texture that creates depth and contrast. Its ashen taupe color is subtly illuminated by a silver-toned pattern, adding a refined, vintage-inspired touch. The silhouette is structured yet fluid, with flared bell sleeves that enhance movement and a high-low hemline that adds dynamic shape. A black satin ribbon fastens the front, allowing for an open, effortless drape.

Her custom elongated white guipure lace collar is by another emerging designer, Iris Yang.

She paired it with black lace tights and these vintage Vivienne Westwood Fall/Winter 1993 Super Elevated Ghillie platform ankle boots in black.

CRWBY are coming for my heart in Volume 9.

The memory of Penny is following Ruby everywhere, but Ruby is still insistent she can handle her burdens alone. Then after she insists she is okay, we get a flash with Summer.

Ruby then giving up the broach that carries a mother's promise.

Weiss having flashbacks to the fall of Atlas. At least her team is there for her this time.

High Five Yourself!

New year, new reflections, but some things are pretty much the same. 2024 was rife with all kinds of gruelling and enjoyable things that happened in my life. I created this blog with my best friend Somaly to talk about our personal lifestyle choices and the shit that the two of us do in Australia, whether together or with other people.

I've seen things on stage last year: Chicago, Beauty and the Beast, Cirque Du Soleil Luzia, Wicked (for the 2nd time since 2014. This time with my other best friend Danielle.) The Chicago stage play wasn't what I expected (because I saw the movie first) and the Beauty and the Beast Musical wasn't what I expected either (it was updated to look more like the 2017 version instead of the 1991 but with a better dress than Emma Watson's.) Luzia was, for me, Cirque du Soleil's comeback after a bad one (Crystal).

I have been on several museum dates with my loved ones to see things about fairy tales, Lego dinosaurs, Alphonse Mucha, Iris van Herpen, and Ancient Egypt. Though Australia's museums aren't as world renowned as others, we try our best and a trip to the museum is always educational and awe-inspiring.

I also coloured a goddess for the artist Jash Lee. Not just in a Facebook group of sorts, but he approached me to do one for him personally. I wish I could have done better, but I'm an amateur!

I have been to festivals about cats, dogs and the annual Matsuri Brisbane. It's the 3rd time I went to the festival and I enjoy it every year.

My grief happened when I experienced the loss of my beloved dog Mallows. The sad thing about this was that I didn't see him in his last moments as I was in Australia while he was with my family in the Philippines.

I reconnected with my friends and family after 4 years of separation due to Covid. I finally met my nephew and was so excited when they visited me this time. We explored Brisbane and we took them to our favourite spots.

Then Gio and I explored Sydney and fell in love with Australia even more.

Other things I did was grinded coffee beans with an antique,

did a low cost cosplay of Anya Forger for Halloween,

created art with literal babies (8 months to 19 months) for Christmas which reconnected me to art,

and wasted a lot of time on Infinity Nikki (my game of the year). Did some Dreamlight Valley on the side too. I found out that I am getting too old for stressful games as my work is already too stressful, so I sauntered on to cozy games and never went back.

But what I really want to high five myself about was that I quit my good job for a better paying one. I was happy where I was and the people in the work place were amazing and fun. The work ethic was chill and I have made friends. But I wasn't progressing and I am full of ambition and I know my worth. Also, it was far from where I live.

I looked for a different job were I was placed in a leadership role with better pay as well, only to realise that it was a terrible one. It reminded me of the time I worked in companies that valued profit over the people and we were treated like numbers. I missed my old job and wished I could go back to my old one even if there was an invitation to go back from my previous owner. I cried from the stress every day. So I quit again and found a new one after staying there for just 4 months. Again, I know my worth.

And the new one is amazing! (even if it had lower pay.)

It may sound like I'm anti-work but I have never been prouder or happier that I moved on from them. I was proud that I didn't have to be a martyr to jobs that made me feel stagnant or jobs that are so toxic to its employees. I am proud and giving myself a high five for learning how to move on and treat myself to something better. I have learned not to just say yes to any company that offers me a lot of money because they are traps. Hopefully this new year and new endeavor will be good to me and the people around me but for now, I am giving myself a high five for everything that I've done in 2024. It was a good year, and I hope it's better this year.

take eun on a coffee date at a cat cafe and he’ll have the time of his life not only chatting away with his date but also playing with the cats. please be aware that there will be a very good chance he walks out adopting one.. or two.

take iris up on his offer for dinner and movies at his place. he cooks well enough, knows exactly how to set the mood right, and nothing extra has to happen if they don’t want — he’s just content to lounge in comfort with a new show or three running for the night.

take clarence on an adventure to something new! there’s a lot he hasn’t experienced and he’s always stoked to try out new things. want to go see something on broadway? sure, he knows jackshit about musicals but he’ll be floored regardless! want to go wine tasting at some vineyard? sure, sounds like a boozetastic time and who knew grapes could do such wonders! how about a cruise? the only ship he’s been on is chips, so sail away and watch him get hooked on bingo!

take cruor to some botanical garden or flower field and watch him get uncharacteristically quiet whenever he sees a particularly breathtaking view. i’m talking about that ‘too awed to say anything’ kind of quiet. .. but also go watch a movie with him and boink him in the car.

take vector somewhere quiet and watch how he unfolds as time passes. some less known clearing to park at, a secluded spot on some trail, at home — whatever it may be, he’s a simple man that likes to be away from distractions and prying eyes. 

take jackrabbit on a roadtrip and she'll be bursting with joy! always running that brain ten miles a minute, there’s something about seeing and experiencing new places that can fine tune all that energy into aw. don’t forget to take lots of pictures! she'll want to look back on them later and remanence.

take adal out to the beach on a sunny day or even go fishing with him. he's even got a waterfront home, so they can even stay the night. give him the chance and anything that’s caught can be cleaned and cooked to perfection ( he’s had plenty of practice before ). and what’s more romantic than cooking fish over a spit with some good drinks / conversation and the midnight sky twinkling above?

New Crossover Project: Sign of the Turnabout

On a visit to America, upon invitation from Nikolina Pavlova, Ryunosuke Naruhodo and his companions encounter a peculiar case, which at first glance seems to be a simple murder. As they wrestle answers to countless questions out of the defendant, Arthur Lester, they'll get wrapped up in something they had no way of predicting. Except, of course, for the great detective Sherlock Holmes.

Yes this is a DGS and Malevolent podcast crossover! Knowledge of at least one of the mediums is ideal, but unnecessary. The fic will explore characters and their relationships in canon, and the only thing that I would warn of is spoilers for both mediums. I will attempt to keep Malevolent spoilers to a minimum, but as this takes place post-DGS2, if you are planning to play the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and wish to do so blind, please do that before engaging with this post/fic.

With that said, a rundown of our cast of characters:

Ryunosuke Naruhodo, English student-turned-lawyer. For the last few years, he's been working in Japan to ease the turmoil of losing the High Chief Justice as a law student and practicing defense attorney in the Supreme Court of Judicature. He's visiting London (and traveling to America) for a vacation and in order to reconnect with his friends and have a relaxing time in a foreign land.

Susato Mikotoba, judicial assistant to the defense. She works with Ryunosuke in court under the guise of being his distant cousin from the country, Ryutaro Naruhodo. She is traveling with Ryunosuke to London and with the rest of them to America in order to visit Nikolina and resolve what happened on the SS Burya five years beforehand.

Kazuma Asogi, minted prosecutor in the British court of law. He works with Lord Barok van Zieks in order to prosecute cases of murder and theft and to cut to the truth of any matter with the sabre he carries on his belt. His katana, Karuma, has been entrusted to Ryunosuke in their time apart. In the five years that have passed, he has attempted to ease the turmoil in his heart and mind and not let his emotions blind him to the truth.

Lord Barok van Zieks, notorious prosecutor of the Old Bailey Courthouse. He works with Kazuma Asogi in a shared office. A member of British nobility, he has spent the last years coming to terms with the truth of his brother's death and his misplaced prejudice as a result. He travels with Kazuma to America due to Kazuma's insistence that he needs to get out more.

Sherlock Holmes, consulting detective at Scotland Yard and star of many published novels of the same name. Seeking stimulation and taking advantage of the trip to America, Holmes is seeking to explore cult activity across the area they plan to visit, mostly around New York City. In the absence of Yujin, his partner, he seeks to travel with Ryunosuke and Iris, as well as the rest of the crew.

Iris Watson, biographer and inventor. Now 15, her inventions have become all the more elaborate and complex, and her stories have become all the grimmer. With a blooming interest in the macabre world of forensics, she gives her guardian many a headache.

Nikolina Pavlova, current member of the Canary Circus and previously prima ballerina in Moscow. After doing odd jobs in New York City, she found a home in the circus when entertainment became an important part of people’s lives. She’s a trapeze artist alongside Nick Orson, and has found a second family in the circus.

Arthur Lester, private investigator. He and his partner Peter Yang have been chasing down cult activity in order to determine the origin of John Doe, the voice with possession of Arthur's eyes, left hand, and right foot. He's been dipping his toes into the world of the supernatural, but gets a cryptic warning from a man, telling him that he's being watched, before the man is killed right before his eyes.

John Doe, recently embodied entity. He's technically a piece of something bigger, something greater, and something angry that its missing piece is running around with a private detective. John has a fondness for the recent movie craze, as well as recently created cartoons.

Peter "Parker" Yang, private detective. He and Arthur are Very Close, and while Parker is happy to tell how he met, he's not exactly forthcoming with the real reason he and Arthur are in New York City, which is to find the truth about John. Of course, the truth is closer than they expected.

Dr. William Dyer, a professor at Miskatonic University. He's been investigating [REDACTED] and is in New York for [REDACTED]. He was shot dead outside of Canary Circus in the middle of a conversation with the defendant.

And of course, some OCs to move the plot along!

Detective Nancy Spade, a green private investigator who has been investigating Yang & Lester for a while now, and who was hired by a woman concerned that Yang & Lester didn’t resolve the case she hired them for. She’s very new to the world of private investigation! And she has no idea what she’s getting herself into…. (Name source: Nancy Drew and Sam Spade, both fictional detectives)

Abby Nossey, a current patron of the Golden Hour hotel. She has a penchant for knowing exactly what’s going on at any given time, and she moves very fast for a middle-aged woman. She resides on the same floor as Yang & Lester and the British Law Squad. (Name source: play on “a bit nosy”)

Donna Byrd, witness to the crime and member of the Canary Circus. She's a very excitable woman, but very easily startled and flighty. While a cooperative witness, she seems awfully eager to point the blame at this man that she's never met. Not to mention, she's never met either the victim or the defendant before...but she seems to know more about this situation than she's letting on. (Name source: Donna Strickland [famous physicist] and Richard Byrd [famous explorer]. Also "bird" would be a play on her nature.)

Linus McClintock, ringmaster of the Canary Circus. He cofounded it with Donna and knows her very well. Hired Nikolina on the spot and cares for her like a daughter. Is also very cooperative with the investigation, but doesn't know the man that the Team saw in the tent before. (Name source: Linus Pauling [chemist and educator] and Barbara McClintock [cytogeneticist]. Also based very lightly on Diane McClintock from Bioshock.)

Scout Goldenrod, a frequent patron of the Canary Circus and a friend of Donna's. He's a very nervous man, and tends to play with the charm in his pocket to ease his nerves. He's a pianist at one of the local bars and has a lot of free time. He spoke to Donna before the circus started, and they seem to be very close friends. (Name source: "Scout" is a name meaning loyalty and "Goldenrod" is a yellow flower.)

Nick Orsen, a trapeze artist and friend to Nikolina. He's not that important to the plot, but he's here and he's very friendly with the investigation team. (Name source: An "Americanization" of Nikola Orsinov, the ringmaster mannequin from The Magnus Archives.)

Potential Prosecutor Pending, but I may just end up using Kazuma or van Zieks. If you have ideas for an American prosecutor, please let me know.

Also will feature some cameo characters from Newsies and BATIM just because I'm silly like that.
