tw: for implied past emotional abuse, im in my feels today
"What the fuck were you thinking?" Hopper growls. He's not quite shouting, but he's still loud, raised voice echoing through the living room. "She's not ready to drive yet, I forbade it, and what? You two decided that you knew better?"
Eddie rolls his eyes, but gamely keeps quiet. He knows Hopper's less upset with Ellie taking a spin through the parking lot and more upset about the property damage. Eddie's on her side though, that phone pole came out of nowhere. Must have been pretty rotted out too, to fall over that easily after a little love tap.
Ellie had done a damn good job fixing the huge dent in the bumper.
But if Hopper wants to be dramatic and chew everyone involved out, Eddie's not going to stop him. Whatever gets the guy's blood pressure back down.
"You're supposed to be responsible adults! Especially you, Steve!"
Rolling his eyes again, Eddie glances over, hoping to share a commiserating look with Steve.
Except Steve isn't looking anywhere but down, shoulders and spine ruler straight. Eddie stalls there, stuck on the way Steve's standing, tense from jaw down to his ankles, his hands balled into tight fists flat at his side, knuckles white. Hopper keeps ranting, pacing a wide circle in front of them, but Steve doesn't flinch, doesn't look up, doesn't react. It's like all the color has washed from him.
"Are you even listening?!"
"Yes, sir," Steve says tightly. He doesn't look up. Hopper keeps going.
Eddie watches as Steve's throat works to swallow, like he's choking. Like he can't breathe.
"Hopper," Eddie snaps. "Shut the fuck up."
Hopper whirls on him, livid, but Eddie's not looking at him, fixed on Steve as he reaches out. Tries to take Steve's hand, just holds his wrist when Steve can't unclench his fist, gentle as he touches him. Steve is tightly wound and trembling under his fingers.
When he looks, Eddie finds Hopper with deep regret on his face, struck silent. He doesn't say anything when Eddie leads Steve away, back out onto the porch. They sit on the swing, Eddie's arm around Steve's shoulders, rocking back and forth until the muscles loosen and Steve slumps, strings cut, into Eddie's side. They'll sit like that for a while more, watching the woods as the sun sets and listening to the dusk settle, crickets and cicadas and chats calling the moon up, filling their silence with nighttime music.
Later, Hopper will come out, temper cooled, and sit on Steve's other side. Will ruffle Steve's hair when Steve starts to stiffen. Will apologize when Steve eyes him warily.
Later, Eddie will scowl and glare, but ultimately keep quiet, unwilling to make the whole thing worse for Steve, another fight, another shouting match. Will stiltedly tell Hopper good night and take Steve home, wait patiently until Steve finally speaks, when he finally tells Eddie a little more and a little more, until Eddie's holding him tight.
That's later though. For now, he digs his heel into the porch, rocking them back and forth, and waits for Steve to breathe.
#steddie#hopper historically yelling at traumatized kids vs steve ircc i've never seen you talk to an adult male the entire series FIGHT#i love hopper tho he's got a gray morality and a temper and i like that in my dilfs#shout out to el for knocking the power out in half of hawkins and probably triggering half the town's ptsd#NOT with her powers tho#she's multitalented like that#imagine with me: her steve and eddie all screaming as she rams right into the light pole at 30 miles an hour#she had so much time to break#shush mal#my steddies

Hey! I was going through my records today and stumbled upon a copy of Georgia Harmer's debut album called Stay In Touch. It's not actually new. It's from 2022. But it reminded me of you because she's Canadian. Thought I would suggest her music if you're looking for new Canadian artists to listen to? Though I guess if you already know of her, then feel free to ignore this haha 😅😅 Happy Sunday! ☺️
Hiya, happy Sunday! Stay In Touch is a lovely album, I'm glad you have a copy! I know Georgia Harmer, she played a show in my town a couple of months ago and my friends interviewed her for radio and said she was lovely 😊 Her aunt Sarah Harmer also went to my uni, so would you look at that, the whole Canadian music scene is so connected 😅
I love her song Home, it's lovely and also reminds me also of a folk musician friend of mine called Piner (who I'll link below), who writes these lovely nature-inspired, introspective folk rock poems, and did a radio session for me once where she had to restart this one song a couple of times (sometimes you repeat something twice and it completely loses all meaning and makes you question everything and become temporarily awkward, you know?)
By the time we were done, that song was fast stuck in my head and I think about it often. It's a lovely song, so I don't mind!
Now that you've mentioned it though, I might just stick on Stay In Touch in the background while I prep tonight's radio show now :) Hope you've having a great day!
#asks!#music#also I love when people say things like#'I found something Canadian and thought of you' bc !!!!#I may not have grown up there but the IRCC can't take this feeling away from me >:)#Canadian propabanda#<- canada music tag; re-read it if it alarmed you

Canada PNP 2024- Provincial Nominee Programs for Skilled Workers
Canada PNP 2024- Provincial Nominee Programs for Skilled Workers
CANADA PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAMS
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is a set of Canadian immigration programs operated by the Government of Canada in partnership with individual provinces, each of which having its own requirements and 'streams' (i.e., target groups). In a program stream, provinces and territories may, for example, target: business people, students, skilled workers, or semi-skilled workers.

BC Provincial Nominee Program
The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is an immigration program for British Columbia that gives "high-demand foreign workers and experienced entrepreneurs" the opportunity to become a permanent resident in BC.The BC PNP offers 2 pathways to obtain a permanent residence in BC, each containing different streams one can apply under, depending on their National Occupational Classification skill level, job, or international-student status:
Skills Immigration: This stream, primarily using a points-based invitation system, is for skilled and semi-skilled workers in high-demand occupations in BC. Candidates may not need prior work experience for some categories; however, Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled category applicants require B.C. work experience. Candidates may have work experience from abroad; and recent international graduates of a Canadian post-secondary institution may not need any work experience, depending on the job being offered.
BC PNP Tech: Those in specific tech occupations may qualify for invitation at a lower points threshold and receive priority assignment for processing..
Express Entry: International Student and Skilled Worker candidates can select either the Express Entry or Standard version of the BC PNP streams. Express Entry streams offer shorter timelines for federal permanent residence application processing.
Priority Occupations: Since 2022, the BC PNP has also provided occupation specific invitations to apply at lower point thresholds based on specific occupations in education, healthcare and veterinary care.
Health Authority and International Post-Graduate Streams - Qualifying candidates, such as those with a job offer from a public health authority or those who've graduated from selected programs at BC post-secondary institutions, can apply directly to the program without registering, obtaining a score and being invited to apply.
Entrepreneur Immigration: This stream, using a points-based invitation system, is for experienced entrepreneurs who wish to actively manage a business in BC. Applicants must create a minimum number of jobs, have the required personal net worth, and make a minimum level of eligible investment.
Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot: an option for entrepreneurs who wish to start a new business in participating regional communities across BC.
Entrepreneur Immigration – Base: an option for entrepreneurs who wish to acquire or start a new business in the province.
Strategic Projects: an option for international companies seeking to expand into BC, and who require permanent residency for key employees.

Title: Understanding Income Proof Requirements for a Student Visa in Canada
Introduction: When applying for a student visa in Canada, providing the necessary income proof is a crucial step. The specific type of income proof required may vary based on individual circumstances. In this blog post, we will explore the common types of income proof accepted and shed light on the financial requirements set by the Canadian government for international students.
Types of Income Proof:
Bank Statements: Submitting bank statements for the past 4 months showing a minimum balance of CAD 10,000 (or the equivalent in your home currency) is often accepted.
Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC): A letter from a financial institution confirming a GIC with a minimum value of CAD 10,000 can serve as proof of financial resources.
Scholarship or Financial Aid: A letter from your school stating that you have been awarded a scholarship or financial aid covering your tuition and living expenses is another form of income proof.
Employment Letter: If you plan to continue working while studying, a letter from your employer stating your intent and income can be considered.
Alternative Evidence of Financial Resources: In cases where the above documents are not available, you may provide alternative evidence, such as property ownership documents, investment statements, tax returns, or letters of financial support from family members or friends.
Considerations: The amount of income proof required may depend on the duration of your study program. Shorter programs may require less documentation than longer-term programs. It is important to note that each province or territory in Canada may have specific financial requirements for international students.
Submission and Application Process: Once you have gathered the necessary income proof, you can submit it with your study permit application either online or by mail. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will review your application and determine whether to grant you a study permit.
Conclusion: Understanding the income proof requirements for a student visa in Canada is essential for a successful application. By providing the requested income proof and meeting the financial requirements, you increase your chances of obtaining a study permit and pursuing your educational journey in Canada.
Remember to refer to the official website of IRCC for the most up-to-date information regarding financial requirements for student visas.

Canada’s limits on immigration targets will cost billions in lost revenue over next five years: RBC report
The federal government’s plan to scale back Canada’s annual immigration targets will lower revenues by billions of dollars over the next five years, according to a new RBC report that urges Ottawa to take a cautious approach to new spending.
Royal Bank of Canada economists Cynthia Leach and Rachel Battaglia’s release Tuesday, which looks ahead to Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland’s coming fall economic statement, says fewer immigrants will translate into lower consumption and employment growth for the economy as a whole – resulting in a significant negative impact on federal finances.
Ms. Leach, a former economist with the federal Finance Department, said in an interview that Ottawa should stay within its self-imposed targets to control the deficit and debt-to-GDP ratio.
“I do think it’s important for the government to stick to its fiscal anchors‚” she said.
Ms. Leach said the government is facing several sources of economic volatility, including the immigration changes and talk of higher tariffs from U.S. president-elect Donald Trump.
The economists project that revised immigration policies will lower federal revenues by about $50-billion over five years, which is only partly offset by a $30-billion fiscal improvement tied primarily to lower-than-anticipated interest rates. The overall fiscal landscape has worsened by about $20-billion over five years compared with the 2024 budget estimates, according to the RBC report.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced in October that Canada’s permanent resident numbers will be lowered to 395,000 in 2025, down from the previous target of 500,000, and then to 380,000 in 2026 and 365,000 in 2027. The government also said it will be working to reduce the number of temporary residents, including international students and people on work permits.
The government has not yet announced a date for the fall economic statement. The House of Commons is scheduled to sit until Dec. 17.
The Globe and Mail reported last week that the government has been looking at alternatives to delivering the economic update on the floor of the House of Commons because of a continuing procedural battle with the opposition over the government’s refusal to fully release documents related to a green technology fund.
Ms. Freeland referenced the Conservative-led filibuster Tuesday when asked why the minority Liberals have not yet released an economic update.
“We believe there should be a fall economic statement, and we are working on ways to deliver one,” she said at a news conference on Parliament Hill.
Ms. Freeland’s April budget projected that the deficit for the fiscal year that ended March 31 would be $40-billion, just barely within the fiscal anchor, or target, of $40.1-billion she announced in last year’s fall update.
However more than eight months after that fiscal year came to an end, the government has not yet released the public accounts that will show whether that target was actually met.
Parliamentary Budget Officer Yves Giroux at a committee meeting Tuesday repeated his long-standing concern that fiscal year-end results should be released by the end of September, so that MPs have the information they need to review spending estimates for the current fiscal year.
Mr. Giroux released a report in October that said the deficit for the 2023-24 fiscal year is on track to be $46.8-billion, meaning the government will have missed its target, though he has cautioned that he cannot be certain.
The government has also pledged to keep the debt-to-GDP ratio on a declining trend, but Mr. Giroux told MPs that fiscal target could also be missed.
“Based on our assessment, it is quite possible that the declining debt-to-GDP ratio will be at high risk this year and next,” Mr. Giroux said Tuesday.
Ms. Freeland said the final deficit figure will be released before the end of the year and did not answer directly when asked if her fiscal targets will be met.
“Canada does have a strong fiscal position,” she said.
The Liberal government’s most recent high-profile economic announcement was to approve a two-month GST holiday on a selection of specific goods and a plan to send $250 cheques to most working Canadians in the spring.
That type of policy is viewed critically in the RBC report, which says “broad-based and demand-side initiatives like cash transfers don’t tend to solve the underlying problem and they risk exacerbating inflationary pressures while complicating the role of monetary policy.”
