We must teach about the Holocaust outside Europe, too

In order to shatter  the ‘Jews are white Europeans’ canard, young people need a much fuller picture of who Jews are, what contemporary antisemitism looks like, and how much of it is rooted in Nazi ideology that spread like wildfire in North Africa and the Middle East, where it continues to burn. Sarah Levin of JIMENA writes in The Jerusalem Post:

Holocaust education, as it currently stands, primarily, and rightfully, focuses on the experiences of Jews in 1930s and ’40s Europe and fails to address how Nazism infiltrated and continues to impact countries outside of Europe. If Holocaust education is to continue evolving beyond teaching the Holocaust for the sake of historical memory, but also as a means to teach about and counter contemporary antisemitism, it must include teaching students the stories and histories of Middle Eastern and North African Jews.

Students should learn about the Nazi-inspired Farhud in Iraq, a two-day pogrom in 1941 that marked the beginning of the end of Jewish life in Baghdad, which was 40% Jewish at the time, and is often referred to as the Kristallnacht of the Middle East.

Students should learn about the Vichy-Nazi labor camps spread throughout North Africa, including the Bedeau, Ain El Ourak, and Bou Arfa camps in Algeria and the camps of Giado, Sidi Azaz, and Bukbuk in Libya.

Students should learn about the role Mein Kampf had in influencing the sweeping Arab nationalism that took over the Middle East and North Africa in the 20th century, and where there remains a demand for Arabic translations of the book.

We can no longer ignore or fail to teach our students the Nazi roots of the Muslim Brotherhood – the father organization of Hamas, the historical and violent criminalization of “Zionism” and “Zionists” in the Arab world, and the ongoing belligerent and systemic Holocaust denial by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In killing Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas’ political bureau in Tehran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sent the clearest message yet to Iran and the resistance movements that he wants a regional war.

In denying any involvement or foreknowledge of the drone strike that killed Haniyeh, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken further damaged Washington’s battered credibility.

US security officials were briefing journalists within an hour of the attack taking place that a senior member of the Axis of Resistance had been killed.

They did not specify where or whom, and at first it was thought to be a second strike in Lebanon after the targeting of Fuad Shukr, Hezbollah’s most senior military commander and right-hand man to leader Hassan Nasrallah.

But it is certain that US security officials knew about the drone strike on Haniyeh within minutes of it happening.

To cast Netanyahu as a leader in the grip of Jewish messianic fascists in ordering this strike, is only half of the story.

When I met him two decades ago as a political outcast dubbed an extremist by my liberal Zionist hosts, Netanyahu had only one idea to impart: Iran was the mothership.

Hamas and Hezbollah were only its aircraft carriers.

Netanyahu’s lifelong belief that he will lead his nation to victory by crushing the Palestinian national cause and preventing a state from ever seeing the light of day can never be discounted.

Today, he might think he is on the cusp of his ultimate political achievement as Israel’s longest-serving prime minister, by dragging the US and Britain into war with Iran.

From a strategic point of view, Israel’s action is madness.

This is not my word, but that used by former Israeli General Amiram Levin, who added, with some understatement, that the “security forces should’ve strongly opposed” the move.

Even without a ceasefire, Haniyeh was worth more to Israel alive than dead.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the lunacy of Biden’s Iran policy.

Biden’s position in refusing to support Israel from taking offensive military action against Iran means that BIDEN WILL NOT SUPPORT ANY MILITARY STRIKES AGAINST IRAN’S NUCLEAR FACILITIES AND THAT IRAN WILL HAVE A FUNCTIONING NUCLEAR ARSENAL WITH WHICH TO THREATEN THE UNITED STATES, ISRAEL, THE ARAB WORLD, AND THE REST OF THE WORLD WITHOUT FEAR OF MILITARY ATTACK. The best time for Israel to hit Iran’s nuclear sites, with critical U.S. support, would’ve been now.

Biden’s appeasement of Iran and intentional funding of Iran, lack of deterrence against Iran and efforts at crippling Israel’s efforts to neutralize Iran’s military and terrorist operations, ensures that Islamist-fundamentalist Iran will become a nuclear power. And once that occurs there will be few options to limit Iran’s ambitions short of a devastating confrontation with frightening risks. What will we do if Iran closes the Red Sea and other navigable waters used to transport oil? And It will also contribute even further to the firepower of the China-Russia-NK-Iran axis and cause other Middle East countries to acquire nuclear weapons. THIS is the world Biden and Blinken are creating while sanctimoniously lecturing about their efforts to de-escalate military confrontations.

Again, the crucial point is that Biden has not only signaled to Iran that no effective action will be taken to stop its nuclear program but Biden has actually acted to ensure that Iran’s final path to building nuclear weapons is open and clear. That’s what is meant by no support for offensive military action against Iran.

The idea that missile defenses are the answer to preventing offensive strikes against Israel or any country is lunacy. On its face it’s illogical. It’s a deterrent under certain circumstances. Maybe in many circumstances. But ultimately you don’t stop missile attacks by chasing another country’s. You stop missile attacks with certainty by destroying that country’s capacity for launching missiles and/or deterring such attacks by subjecting that country to punishing offensive military attacks. Despite Biden’s massive and current propaganda operation to the contrary, facts are facts.

Furthermore, it’s beyond debate that the duplicitous Biden actually colluded with Iran through intermediaries to create the events that took place in the skies over Israel a few nights ago. And, of course, Israel was in the dark about it. (This is the same Biden regime that outrageously demands tactical approval over Israel’s battlefield decisions.) Why? Because it wouldn’t have gone along with such treachery and put its people through such a heinous subterfuge. Think about how morally corrupt, among other things, the Biden regime's actions truly are.

Biden and the Iranian regime sympathizer, Blinken, coordinated with Iran over the timing, types of missiles, and even Iranian propaganda. The purpose was to prevent Israel from pulverizing Iran’s military capabilities. Indeed, the Biden regime began leaking immediately to their favorite reporters and media outlets (many of the same press sympathizes they relied on during the Obama regime to promote the Iran nuclear deal) that Israel had provoked Iran and hadn’t told the U.S. in advance about the planned attack on Iran’s terrorist compound in Damascus. Obviously, Israel didn’t forewarn Blinken because he would’ve leaked it to the media! Moreover, Israel is not obliged to get permission from Biden on how and whether to defend its people. Biden and Blinken are hostile to Israel and seek to overthrow its democratic government. They’ve repeatedly told this openly to the entire world, including the Iranians.

Every one of these shocking and appalling Biden regime mobster tactics, and there are more, with the attendant scheming, plotting, leaking, usurping, and back-stabbing against a longtime essential and loyal ally, which is in a daunting and bloody war literally triggered by the insane policies of the Biden regime, is beneath contempt and a stain on America’s character and reputation as the world’s moral beacon.

It is Biden and Blinken who are impulsive, ignorant, reckless, incompetent, and dangerous. It is they who’ve abandoned a rational and prudent foreign policy in pursuit of incoherent and ideologically-driven utopian ambitions. And it is they who’ve escalated military conflict on multiple continents. For them, there is no good or evil, right or wrong. Hence, they fund Iran and threaten Israel. They seek Netanyahu’s ouster and the ayatollah’s approval.

Be worried. Very worried.

Israeli Channel 12 aired a segment noting that Baby Bibi spread disinformation first promoted by far-right radio personality, Mark Levin, who Netanyahu falsely describes as a retired assistant US attorney.  In reality, while he did once practice law, Levin served as chief of staff to Reagan’s attorney general, Edwin Meese over 40 years ago.

Trump Not Indicted on Memo in Leaked Audio

   The secret military plan that former President Donald Trump appears in a leaked audio recording to boast about keeping after he left office is not one of the documents included in his federal indictment, according to a new report.

   The Defense Department memo on Iran was not one of those Trump is accused of willfully retaining under the 31 counts in special counsel Jack Smith’s indictment under the Espionage Act of 1917, CBS News reports citing an unnamed source.

   The 37-count indictment against Trump includes 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information without direct references to the exact subject matter in the documents, but the source told CBS the Iran memo alluded to by Trump in the leaked audio is not even alleged to be willfully retained unlawfully by Smith’s indictment.

   “This is why I always caution to wait, just a little while, before rushing to judgment on matters reported by the media or announced by the government,” legal expert Mark Levin tweeted in response to the CBS report.

   “We now have a situation in which the media have been using CNN’s receipt of audio allegedly of Trump discussing Iran, which is mentioned in the charging document against Trump, but apparently is not actually charged against Trump — or something like that. This is at a minimum very curious.”

   The purported document might not ever be received by the government, sources told CBS News.

   But Smith referenced the content of the leaked audio tapes in the indictment, describing allegations Trump is on tape allegedly sharing national defense information to someone without proper security clearance.

   “It is like highly confidential, secret,” Trump says in the leaked audio tape, according to myriad reports. “This is secret information. Look, look at this.

   “See, as president I could have declassified, but now I can’t, you know.

   “Isn’t that interesting?”

   Trump and his backers said the audio can be exonerating.

  “What did I say wrong in those recordings?” Trump said in Concord, New Hampshire, on Tuesday. “I didn’t even see the recording. All I know is I did nothing wrong. We had a lot of papers, a lot of papers stacked up. In fact, you could hear the rustle of the paper. And nobody said I did anything wrong.

   “Other than the fake news, which, of course, is Fox, too.”

   Trump attorney Alina Habba condemned the “political demonstration of corruption” on Newsmax’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” saying the indictment and the complicit media are waging an election meddling campaign to try to stop Trump before 2024.

   “They take cuts and pieces, just like the indictment,” Habba told host Rob Schmitt on Tuesday night. “They put it together and they make the American people believe the story, like la la land, that they create.

   “It’s not in fact. There are no two sides. It’s just one side. It’s pieces.”

   Habba noted Trump saying “off the record” in the audio clip shows the leak came from the Justice Department because that writer would not have violated that trust.

   “They wouldn’t do that,” Habba said. “There has to be some evidence that came from the DOJ. Why? Because they’re losing.

   “They’re losing in the polls. They’re losing in the media, and they’re losing this case.”

   Levin expressed outrage about the weaponization of justice and the complicity of the media.

   “We know nothing about the context of the audio,” Levin tweeted Tuesday. “Nothing. We are fed exactly two minutes via CNN, a favorite state-run media outlet. We know no more or no less than they tell us.

   “And the multiple felonies committed by the regime in leaking the tape will be ignored. Felonies committed in pursuit of Trump are no longer felonies. The ‘justice system’ is dead. The Democrat Party owns the federal government.”
