Maulana Shaukat Ali
Maulana Shaukat Ali was an Indian Muslim nationalist and leader of the Khilafat movement. He was the brother of Maulana Mohammad Ali.
Early life
Shaukat Ali was born in 1873 - in Rampur state in what is today Uttar Pradesh or known as Lucknow. He was of Turkic descent, Turks who had settled in modern day Afghanistan, and Northern India. He was educated at the Aligarh Muslim University. He was extremely fond of playing cricket, captaining the university team.Mahatma Gandhi brought him into politics. Ali served in the civil service of United Provinces of Oudh and Agra from 1896 to 1913.
Khilafat Movement
Shaukat Ali helped his brother Mohammed Ali publish the Urdu weekly Hamdard and the English weekly Comrade. In 1919, while jailed for publishing what the British charged as seditious materials and organizing protests, he was elected as the first president of the Khilafat conference. He was re-arrested and imprisoned from 1921 to 1923 for his support to Mahatma Gandhi and the Indian National Congress during the Non-Cooperation Movement (1919-1922). His fans accorded him and his brother the title of Maulana. In March 1922, he was in Rajkot jailâNehru Report--
Nehru Report
While still a supporter of Congress and its non-violent ethos, Ali emulated some of his colleagues in also providing support to the revolutionary independence movement. To this end, he supplied guns to Sachindranath Sanyal.[1] Along with his brother, Shaukat Ali grew disillusioned with the Congress and Gandhi's leadership. Maulana Md.Ali Jauhar was in jail, so Maulana Shaukat along with Begum Md. His brother died in 1931, and Ali continued on and organized the World Muslim Conference in Jerusalem.
In 1936, Ali joined the All India Muslim League and became a close political ally of and campaigner for Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the future founder of Pakistan. He served as member of the Central Assembly from 1934 to 1938. He travelled over the Middle East, building support for India's Muslims and the struggle for independence.

Abdul Hafeez Kardar
Abdul Hafeez Kardar or Abdul Kardar (born Lahore, 17 January 1925, died 21 April 1996) was an international cricketer, who is one of the only three players to have played Test cricket for both India and Pakistan; the other two being Amir Elahi and Gul Mohammad. He became the first captain of the Pakistan cricket team and is widely regarded as a father figure of Pakistan's cricket
Early career
Kardar was born in Lahore Punjab in 1925,[4] and educated at Islamia College Lahore. He played domestic cricket for a variety of teams, including: Oxford University, Northern India and Muslims. He was one of the few players of his generation who played for India in Tests against England, and following the independence representing Pakistan. Kardar was appointed to lead the team which would play its first official Test series touring India in 1952â53. Kardar fielded his men against Lala Amarnath's Indian team. Although India won in Delhi and Bombay and won the series, Kardar's Pakistan achieved their first Test victory in only the second Test in Lucknow. He was a left-handed batsman and a slow left-arm orthodox spin bowler, scoring 6,832 runs and taking 344 wickets in first-class cricket. He averaged 29.83 in batting, and 24.55 in bowling. Kardar played for the Pakistan team from 1948 to 1952, in the years before Pakistan was granted Test status. Kardar also played for Warwickshire and Pakistan Services.
Pakistan's captain
Kardar captained Pakistan against all the Test playing nations of the day, and achieved an unparalleled distinction of leading his team to victory against each of them, which was remarkable for a nascent cricketing nation. Especially famous was the series-levelling victory achieved touring England in 1954 at The Oval. It was unimaginable for the cricket's godfather nation and team to be beaten by minnows in their first rubber in England. Kardar and his men also created history by winning the first-ever and only Test against Australia in Karachi in 1957. Although aggressive, motivated and confident, Kardar's Pakistan was yet immature, inexperienced and raw in their cricketing skills to win series victories. The attitude of the players was especially criticised when all the five Tests played by the Indian cricket team on its first tour of Pakistan in 1954â1955 ended in a draw. The fear of both Indian and Pakistani players of losing to each other, owing to political tensions and the bloody legacy of independence, was too much for competitive cricket to be played. During his tenure, Pakistan won six, lost six and drew eleven matches in a total of 23 Tests. Kardar retired in 1958.
The Cult
Kardar had been a strong supporter of Mohammad Ali Jinnah and an adherent to the idea of Muslim glory in India. Abdul Hafeez Kardar went into politics and served as the president of the Pakistan Cricket Board in the 1970s. His tenure was notable for increasing representation of Asian and African cricketing nations with the International Cricket Council. Kardar was forced to resign after an embarrassing pay dispute with the players in 1977. He also worked with many charitable and social development causes, and in the last years of his life was assigned as Pakistan's ambassador to Switzerland, prior to his death in his hometown, Lahore in 1996. Kardar is today credited with popularising the game with common Pakistani people and youth, for his tutelage of some of Pakistan's greatest cricketers, young talent and prodigies, and his stewardship of the Pakistan team and the board in its early years, developing a culture of pride and professionalism. He was also elected to the provincial assembly of Punjab in 1970 on a ticket of the Pakistan Peoples Party, and was also inducted in the provincial cabinet as a minister..[2][3]

Iran strikes back at United States with missile attack at air base
TEHRAN, Iran â Iran struck back at the United States for the killing of a top Iranian general early Wednesday, firing a series of surface-to-surface missiles at an Iraqi air base housing U.S. troops and warning the United States and its allies in the region not to retaliate.
U.S. officials confirmed airstrikes at the air base. There was no immediate word on injuries.
Iranian state TV said the attack was in revenge for the killing of Revolutionary Guard Gen. Qassem Soleimani, whose funeral Tuesday in his hometown of Kerman prompted angry calls to avenge his death, which drastically raised tensions in the Middle East.
Iranâs Revolutionary Guard warned the U.S. and its regional allies against retaliating over the missile attack against the Ain Assad air base in Iraqâs western Anbar province. The Guard issued the warning via a statement carried by Iranâs state-run IRNA news agency.
âWe are warning all American allies, who gave their bases to its terrorist army, that any territory that is the starting point of aggressive acts against Iran will be targeted,â The Guard said. It also threatened Israel.
Ain Assad air base is in Iraqâs western Anbar province. It was first used by American forces after the 2003 U.S.-led invasion that toppled dictator Saddam Hussein. It later saw American troops stationed there amid the fight against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria.
State TV said the operationâs name was âMartyr Soleimani.â It said the Guardâs aerospace division that controls Iranâs missile program launched the attack. Iran said it would release more information later.
Wednesdayâs revenge attack came a mere few hours after crowds in Iran mourned Soleimani and as the U.S. continued to reinforce its own positions in the region and warned of an unspecified threat to shipping from Iran in the regionâs waterways, crucial routes for global energy supplies. U.S. embassies and consulates from Asia to Africa and Europe issued security alerts for Americans. The U.S. Air Force launched a drill with 52 fighter jets in Utah, just days after President Donald Trump threatened to hit 52 sites in Iran.
A stampede broke out Tuesday at Soleimaniâs funeral for a top Iranian general slain in a U.S. airstrike, and at least 56 people were killed and more than 200 were injured as thousands thronged the procession, Iranian news reports said.
Tuesdayâs deadly stampede took place in Soleimaniâs hometown of Kerman as his coffin was being borne through the city in southeastern Iran, said Pirhossein Koulivand, head of Iranâs emergency medical services.
There was no information about what set off the crush in the packed streets, and online videos showed only its aftermath: people lying apparently lifeless, their faces covered by clothing, emergency crews performing CPR on the fallen, and onlookers wailing and crying out to God.
âUnfortunately as a result of the stampede, some of our compatriots have been injured and some have been killed during the funeral processions,â Koulivand said, and state TV quoted him as saying that 56 had died and 213 had been injured.
Soleimaniâs burial was delayed, with no new time given, because of concerns about the huge crowd at the cemetery, the semi-official ISNA news agency said.
A procession in Tehran on Monday drew over 1 million people in the Iranian capital, crowding both main avenues and side streets in Tehran. Such mass crowds can prove dangerous. A smaller stampede at the 1989 funeral for Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini killed at least eight people and injured hundreds.
Hossein Salami, Soleimaniâs successor as leader of the Revolutionary Guard, addressed a crowd of supporters gathered at the coffin in a central square in Kernan. He vowed to avenge Soleimani, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike Friday near Baghdadâs airport.
âWe tell our enemies that we will retaliate but if they take another action we will set ablaze the places that they like and are passionate about,â Salami said.
âDeath to Israel!â the crowd shouted in response, referring to one of Iranâs longtime regional foes.
Salami praised Soleimaniâs work, describing him as essential to backing Palestinian groups, Yemenâs Houthi rebels and Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria. As a martyr, Soleimani represented an even greater threat to Iranâs enemies, Salami said.
Soleimani will ultimately be laid to rest between the graves of Enayatollah Talebizadeh and Mohammad Hossein Yousef Elahi, two former Guard comrades killed in Iranâs 1980s war with Iraq. They died in Operation Dawn 8, in which Soleimani also took part. It was a 1986 amphibious assault that cut Iraq off from the Persian Gulf and led to the end of the war that killed 1 million.
The funeral processions in major cities over three days have been an unprecedented honor for Soleimani, seen by Iranians as a national hero for his work leading the Guardâs expeditionary Quds Force.
The U.S. blames him for killing U.S. troops in Iraq and accused him of plotting new attacks just before he was killed. Soleimani also led forces supporting Syrian President Bashar Assad in that countryâs civil war, and he also served as the point man for Iranian proxies in countries like Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen. Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Assad in Syria on Tuesday amid the tensions between Washington and Tehran.
Soleimaniâs slaying already has led Tehran to abandon the remaining limits of its 2015 nuclear deal with world powers as his successor and others vow to take revenge.
In Iraq, pro-Iranian factions in parliament have pushed to oust American troops from Iraqi soil following Soleimaniâs killing. Germany and Canada announced plans to move some of their soldiers in Iraq to neighboring countries.
According to a report on Tuesday by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, Iran has worked up 13 sets of plans to avenge Soleimaniâs death. The report quoted Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of Iranâs Supreme National Security Council, as saying that even the weakest among them would be a âhistoric nightmareâ for the U.S. He declined to elaborate,
âIf the U.S. troops do not leave our region voluntarily and upright, we will do something to carry their bodies horizontally out,â Shamkhani said.
The state-run IRNA news agency later published a statement from the Supreme National Security Council denying Shamkhani made the comment.
The U.S. Maritime Administration warned ships across the Mideast, citing the rising threats. âThe Iranian response to this action, if any, is unknown, but there remains the possibility of Iranian action against U.S. maritime interests in the region,â it said.
Oil tankers were targeted in mine attacks last year that the U.S. blamed on Iran. Tehran denied responsibility, although it did seize oil tankers around the crucial Strait of Hormuz, the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf through which 20% of the worldâs crude oil travels.
The U.S. Navyâs Bahrain-based 5th Fleet said it would work with shippers in the region to minimize any possible threat.
The 5th Fleet âhas and will continue to provide advice to merchant shipping as appropriate regarding recommended security precautions in light of the heightened tensions and threats in the region,â 5th Fleet spokesman Cmdr. Joshua Frey told The Associated Press.
Meanwhile, Iranian Gen. Alireza Tabgsiri, the chief of the Guardâs navy, issued his own warning.
âOur message to the enemies is to leave the region,â Tabgsiri said, according to ISNA. The Guard routinely has tense encounters with the U.S. Navy in the Persian Gulf.
Separately, Iran summoned the British ambassador over comments by Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the British defense minister about Soleimaniâs killing, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported.
Iranâs parliament, meanwhile, has passed an urgent bill declaring the U.S. militaryâs command at the Pentagon and those acting on its behalf in Soleimaniâs killing as âterrorists,â subject to Iranian sanctions. The measure appears to be in response to a decision by Trump in April to declare the Revolutionary Guard a âterrorist organization.â
The U.S. Defense Department used that terror designation to support the strike that killed Soleimani. The action by Iranâs parliament was done by a special procedure to speed it into law and also saw the lawmakers approve funding for the Quds Force with an additional 200 million euros, or about $224 million.
Also Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the U.S. had declined to issue him a visa to travel to New York for meetings at the United Nations. As the host of the U.N. headquarters, the U.S. is supposed to allow foreign officials to attend such meetings.
âThis is because they fear someone will go there and tell the truth to the American people,â Zarif said. âBut they are mistaken. The world is not limited to New York. You can speak with American people from Tehran too and we will do that.â
Asked about Zarif, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told journalists America would comply with its obligations under U.N. rules to grant visas. He then referred to the Iranian diplomat as âa propagandist of the first order.â
A U.S. official who wasnât authorized to speak on the record said the application couldnât be processed in time for Zarifâs travel although it wasnât clear if his request had been formally denied. A formal rejection would trigger legal technicalities that could affect future visa applications and could violate the host country agreement the U.S. has with the U.N.

Nonetheless, the method people and also neighborhoods identify and seek love contrasts amongst cultures and religions, and the arabic brides http://www.aabrides.com/country/arab-brides/ community is no exemption.
Arab Americansâ scenery on dating are rather various coming from those of the United States mainstream.
Many Arab Americans refuse premarital charming connections as a principle. Others are more forgiving of males dating than they are of females.
Moe, 19, a Holly Ford Area College student, mentioned his âconventionalâ moms and dads will not permit him to become involved in an intimate relationship just before relationship.
â They definitely would not just like the idea of a partner,â he mentioned. âOur community, everybody around our company, dislikes the word âdating.'â
Moe added that his loved ones could not object if he âased ifâ a girl as long as she is actually Arab. âJust liking a non-Arab will run out the inquiry. They âd view it as leaving behind the society,â he stated.
The 19 year-old pointed out the distinctions in Arab perception of courting produce a âdisputeâ for the neighborhoodâs youth, as they view their non-Arab peers taking part in tender relationships that are accepted by their community.
âIt resembles theyâre looking out of a window. It is wrong to deny our young people of those emotions,â he stated. âOnce they age and knowledge outdating responsible for their parentsâ back, they come to be absolutely taken in by that partnership. They shed their concentrate on job as well as university.â
Hussein, yet another HFCC trainee, echoed Moeâs comments about how novice youthful Arab Americans may become unhealthily uncontrollable concerning their first relationship.
He said he went to a mainly Muslim charter senior highschool, where dating was certainly not common one of the students.
â My buddy possessed a scholarship to the Educational institution of Michigan. He encountered a lady on his first term as well as switched all his focus to her,â Hussein mentioned. âHe was actually so fired up that he started waning on his college work. His Grade Point Average fell, and also he dropped the scholarship. Itâs definitely negative.â
Hussein claimed his parents would certainly incline if he had a girl, yet they will certainly not enable his sibling to companion.
â My moms and dads are incredibly unbiased along withthe children,â he mentioned. âBut for some factor, ladies have an effect on the credibility and reputation of the whole loved ones. Itâs the societyâs fault. Religious beliefs treats kids as well as females the same.â
He included that interaction within the family regarding premarital enchanting partnerships is actually the most effective method to steer clear of unfavorable end results, like psychological troubles.
Moe mentioned he would certainly allow his little ones, boys as well as females, to day. âDating isnât negative,â he incorporated. âJust as long as theyâre heading out in social and also refraining anything incorrect. When it comes to the female, maybe I will like her partner ahead to my home initially.â
He pointed out sex before relationship will be thought about âwrong,â depending on to religious beliefs.
Moe kept in mind that when it involves dating, more stringent requirements are related to ladies in most households, where young women are actually a lot more limited than males. âSome people could phone that bias. However parents would suggest they are actually doing it to safeguard their children,â he claimed.
However, Zeinab, an 18 year-old Edsel Ford Secondary school grad, stated the diverse treatment in between guys as well as ladies in the area is actually âsexism,â althoughher mother performs not prevent her from having a guy.
Zeinab, who was increased througha single moms and dad, mentions her mama accepts that she has a partner, althoughshe is actually still âoverprotectiveâ of her.
â When I fulfilled my man, I presumed there is actually no way my mama would certainly accept of him since heâs Chaldean,â she pointed out. âI was actually heartbroken. But I told her after a handful of months, as well as she stated she believes me and also she doesnât mind.â
However, Zeinab added that her mom still carried out limits on her relationship. âI need to come back house at a particular opportunity; she is actually regularly getting in touchwith, consistently worried that I may drink or even sleep around withhim,â she clarified.
Zeinab claimed her mommy will certainly not have actually prepared the very same restrictions if she were a young boy. âPeople within this area donât care what kids perform, however they are actually consistently interrogating the gals,â she claimed. âIt is actually a prejudiced point. If I want to sleep around, my mom will kill me. If my bro wishes to sleep around, she will receive him the condoms.â
But she included that she is actually blessed to possess a âawesomeâ mama because other girls in the area âare actually not also allowed to speak to individuals.â
Despite whining about the way girls are handled in the neighborhood, Zeinab said she would not alleviate her little ones equally. âI would certainly be rigorous along withmy little girl, not considering that she is actually less, yet considering that men in our culture tend to determine and also make use of females,â she claimed.
A moms and dadâs standpoint
Alia, a mommy of six little ones and a college student learning psychology, mentioned she handles her youngsters in a different way according to their gender.
She said she permits her kids to time, however certainly not her little girl. âYou stress over the girl muchmore,â she included.
Alia explained that she raised all of her youngsters along withthe very same concepts, however as they get older, she approves what her lads do since she can not manage their activities.
She mentioned her child, 19, asks for her approval prior to she heads out, however her sons perform not.
â If among my children got back along withblossoms and also a teddy bear on Valentineâs Time, I definitely would not look after, but if my little girl did, I would certainly start asking her,â Alia mentioned. âIs it double specifications? Yes. Is it falsity? Yes. But these are the societyâs specifications, and also lifestyle participates in a primary function in our lifestyles. Our team are actually culturally set this way. I feel like thatâs what my parents utilized on me, as well as it is how Iâm raising my children.â
Alia included that she will just permit her child to possess a guy if she recognizes that their partnership is honest and also cement and would inevitably wind up in marriage.
â If going out withis to recognize the individual as well as develop commitment, at that point there is not a problem withit,â she described. âHowever the word âdatingâ feels. The American viewpoint on dating is often sex-related, and thatâs the complication.â
However, the Merriam-Webster dictionary defines dating as âthe set of social interactions shared by a married couple seeking to acquire wed.â
Dating and marriage in Islam
Imam Mohammad Ali Elahi, the spiritual teacher of the Islamic Home of Understanding in Dearborn Heights, mentioned the model of dating that the âprevalent cultureâ advertises is wrong and also harmful to the principle of household.
Elahi focused on the significance of family members in the community, incorporating that the family members in our culture reside in crisis, as separation rates are actually climbing and also marital relationship costs are actually lowering.
We need to have learning facilities to emphasize the principle of loved ones,â he said. âA productive loved ones triggers an effective community. A well-balanced family members brings about well-balanced neighborhood. A muchbetter household causes a muchbetter United States.â
Elahi included that the youthmust regard dating as âorientation as well as preparation for marital relationship.â
â If dating was actually an essential need for the agreement of marital relationship, it must be under specific regulation and also guidelines,â he mentioned. âThat implies that the man as well as women ought to satisfy in an atmosphere where the family members exists or somehow in public, so they carry out certainly not possess physical connection and a sexual connection just before marriage, whichwill be arabic brides very damaging. The partnership needs to be truthful as well as true.â
Elahi challenged the reason of the mainstream concept of dating, as advertised by Hollywood and also the media, adding that dating âfor excitingâ could result in the devastation of the family members, unintended maternities, abortions and also mental distress.
âItâs very unsafe,â he claimed.
