I love how we all agreed that Till is the kind of kid who would very publicly declare he loves his mommy.

Like, violence or no violence, he loves his mom and he'll be damned if anyone tries to doubt that.

Hey do you think that the reason Till is constantly so angry with himself is that he lost his mom but he never learned why. And no one ever bothered to tell him what really happened so he always blamed himself and he was taken away from her so young he barely remembers anything. And he barely consciously remembers her face anymore but every time he looks in the mirror he recognizes her face because he's the spitting image of his mom and can't help but feel a pang of love and recognition and despair and anger all at once. And he never can fully understand where these emotions really come from. No? Okay.

Okay so I’ve been really into Alien Stage recently and maybe I’m just dumb and this was so obvious to everyone else that they didn’t have to say it out loud but I haven’t seen anyone else mention the fact that it was Io who taught Till how to sing.

Again maybe I’m just slow but when I first read through this I thought the implication was that Till picked up singing on his own from watching the other contestants on Alien Stage and Io just didn’t have the heart to stop him.

But you can see in their hand that Io is holding sheet music and singing along with Till and we see Till with sheet music earlier in the comic and he clearly knows how to read it which implies someone taught him and there really isn’t anyone else it could be besides them.

They look shocked though so maybe they weren’t expecting him to pick it up or at least not so quickly. Still I was just thinking of how crazy it is that they had an active role in teaching him how to sing, despite knowing what would happen to him, especially after they recognised how good he sounded and still didn’t get him to stop.

I feel like they parallel Mizi’s guardian Shine in that regard, where they both represent parents who despite loving and caring for their children still allow them into the idol industry despite knowing how awful it is.

Till didn't really remember anything about his birth mother. He was raised by his Guardian, not another human being.

He could remember some things though.

He remembered her hands. His mother's hands were similar to his, although a bit more calloused. She had long fingers, and he would remember seeing her move them in the air as if she was strumming something. He'd also see her writing things down on pieces of paper, but she'd always keep them from him.

He remembered her hair. They resembled each other so much that it was hard to forget some of her features. Her hair was almost silvery, cut short just like his, at the nape of her neck. Whenever she embraced him, he'd feel her hair brushing against the top of his head.

Most of all, he remembered her warmth. No matter how sad or cold he felt, whenever she hugged him tight, pulling him close, her warmth would always comfort him.

One day, she disappeared. Everywhere Till looked, he couldn't find her. Her face was blurring into the many faces he saw each day, and he began to panic, thinking that'd he'd forget what she looked like, how her hair and hands looked.

He discovered she had been writing a song for him. All of her notes were gathered into a pile on the floor, and in almost-scratchy handwriting, For Till was written on the top.

The papers dropped from his hands, fluttering to the ground. The hours into the night that she'd be humming, she was practicing the song for him.

He knew her voice was beautiful. Nobody could compete against her and win.

So where did she go?

Every song that Till sang, he gave it his all. Even during the practice sessions, he'd try being the most harmonic out of all of them. The expressions on his face changed from blank to earnest. Some of the others watched him, but he paid them no mind.

Till didn't want to lose the memory of his mother. He didn't want her face to disappear once and for all. He didn't want to forget what her hugs felt like.

Every song that Till would sing was an homage to his mother, so that somewhere, wherever she was, she knew he was thinking of her.

I just am curious why the fandom thinks Io should be referred to with she/her when they have no such pronouns attached to them. Calling Io Till's mom is understandable because that was the role they played in caring for him, but why are we feminizing a gender neutral person again? The original comic does not specify Io's gender. They're also flat chested from what I can observe in the comic. And Luka has gorgeous eyelashes, so don't tell me that the eyelashes make the gender of a person.

Fandom, give me answers why you're doing this, and I hope it's not erasure enabling.
