having lived in Inaba all his life, Yosuke quietly yearned for the day that his family's small business would finally crash and burn at the hands of Junes. However, that dream comes to a screeching halt when the superstore becomes the scene of a murder, resulting in the entire establishment being shut down instead.

This results in a surge of business that not only revitalizes the shopping district, but his family's small grocery- Hanamura's - as well. The success causes him to become despondent, having realized that his patience and diligence has been rewarded with a promising future right here in Inaba instead of being given then opportunity to pursue his dreams of music production. After all, Inaba doesn't even have dial-up, how is one supposed to stay on the pulse of culture otherwise?

He is left wondering if this is his place to be, even if it means he's miserable and bored all the time. As well has being childhood friends with the crass and burning Phoenix of Inaba, Yukiko Amagi- his seemingly careless and nonchalant attitude has still earned him the ire of the town, so folk tend to speak carelessly of him unless he is packing their groceries.

He often retreats into his headphones. He's still desperately closeted and kind of a pervert, tho.
