Witchcraft 101: An Introductory Post
What is Witchcraft?
Witchcraft is the practice of magick. It's a series of techniques one uses to harness and/or manipulate energies externally or internally to change one's surroundings of circumstances as well as themselves. This can be done through using herbs, stones, crystals, and other materials.
Witchcraft can, and is, performed in a plethora of ways. It can be done through meditation, spell work, rituals or even baking and cooking. Witchcraft is as unique as you are. To practice witchcraft you do not need a religion, however most people practice witchcraft to feel more connected to their chosen religion. Witchcraft is as unique as the individual demonstrating it.
What makes someone a witch?
A witch is a person who practices magick. Witches can come from any background, any age, race or gender and religion. The term 'witch' is a gender-neutral, universal name. A being who claims the title may do what they desire with the craft. There are many types of witches, all of which are nature based. Not all witches are interested in the same type practise, however. One may prefer the study and use of crystals, and another being drawn to divination or even one of the elements.
A witch is neither good or bad, as they are only human.
There aren't any rules to being a witch (unless your religion states otherwise). Whilst you don't have to be religious to be a witch, most witches who practise, are most commonly Wiccan.
What is Paganism?
Pagan is an umbrella term for the many non-Abrahamic religions. This included Hinduism, Wicca, Buddhism, Sikhism, etc. However, not a lot of people fall into a specific type of religion that comes under paganism but still believe in & worship more than one God/Goddess or Greater being such as the elements, for example. Many, if not most, witches, fall under the Wiccan religion.
Paganism, across all sub-genres, follow holidays/festivals, and in many religions, many they follow The Eight Sabbats, or Wheel of the Year. The Sabbats, depending on the religion, have slight variations in terms of rituals, timing and practicing of the holidays i.e. which God/Goddess is associated, traditional colours or foods. It also is up to the individual as to what they do and don't want to celebrate.
"All Wiccans are witches, but not all witches are wiccan. All Wiccans are Pagan, but not all Pagans are Witches."
Religion VS. Spirituality
Religion and spirituality are often meshed together and difficult to differentiate the two. Some people believe there is a blurred line between them, whereas another may believe they are two completely different topics.
So, how can we tell the two apart?
Religion is an institutionalised system of certain attitudes, practises and beliefs; often the service or worship of a greater being than ones self or the supernatural. A religion is often based upon life lessons and teachings of a historical or archetypal figure. Typically, there is a place of worship, such as churches, temples, mosques and cathedrals. Religion is a structured organised system that is heavily rule based with it's main focus on the faith of the religion (scriptures of being infallible and ultimate or truth. Acceptance and the surrender to the Divine are taught as the path to complete and ultimate salvation. Religion is one path for all to follow.
Spirituality is a connection that one has to something that is much larger than yourself. Spirituality is an aspect of humanity where an individual seeks and expresses meaning and purpose through the connection they experience to a moment. People who are spiritually awakened liv4e life in a reverent and sacred manner. Yoga, meditation and contemplation all help a person to start, progress and explore their journey. Many use these practices to reach out to their spirit guides, past lives and even advice from outside forces. Each journey is unique. Spirituality is often referred to as a "pathless path". Spirituality is about following your own path and learning, growing, loving and acceptance on a more personal level. Unlike religion, spiritualists do not follow a set of rules n regards to their inward journey but, faith is not dismissed and entirely acceptable to incorporate with spirituality.

leftists aren't just anti-semitic, they're also anti-hindu, pass it on.
ok ok i'll elaborate. we don't hear much about this in the west so i though i should share. i myself just started to hear about this after i started dating my indian bf, but it was only when we went to visit his family in india that i got to see for myself.
a few things i've witnessed there: hindus are called fascists for whatever reason, forced conversions are a serious issue there, like you have lots of cases of christians and muslims coercing or manipulating hindus into conversion, yet leftists and the media call it a conspiracy theory (look up 'love jihad'). anti forced conversion laws? leftists are against those. so many hindu sacred places and temples have been ransacked or converted into mosques or minars during the islamic invasion, and hindus are trying to get some of them back legally, but guess who's against this? leftists again. leftists disdain or make up problems about almost all hindu festivals and celebrations while putting christian and muslim festivals on pedestals. actual caste problems get purposefully misinterpreted by leftists to make it seem like absolutely different and bigger problems, that when they don't make up some caste problems too. teaching yoga in schools is fascist for some reason (?????)
i could go on
the point is that they claim to be all for indigenous populations and native culture and shit, but have a jew or an hindu in their own homeland (or like, an european in europe ffs) and they're suddenly against it all.
i stand with israel, i stand with india and leftists can kiss my ass
I'll take you at your word because I know nothing about the internal politics of India. But this doesn't surprise me. Modern leftism is built on the foundations of hate and jealousy. It attracts followers by promising them free reign to attack anyone they hate as long as they fit mostly arbitrary criteria of being from a "bad group".

what do u think donna does in Seattle
hehe I AM SO GLAD YOU ASKED. Bc while I absolutely don't know, I see it so clearly?? Buckle up here we go!!!!!
First of all, her and Harvey live on Queen Anne. I don't give a fuck where Mike's firm is, they literally belong in the Queen Anne neighborhood.
Now, as for what Donna does - I'm assuming you mean for employment. LMAO. While it would be super cool for her to continue as a COO, and that's what I manifest for her, I do think it would be cool to see her tap into her COO skills and mix them with theater. I'm thinking Managing Director of the Seattle Rep (aka the Seattle Repertory Theatre) or the 5th Avenue Theatre. If she did continue with law firms or whatever, then I think she'd at least be on a board of directors or a committee chair for these theatre organizations!! I just really like the idea of her trying to be more integrated into the arts in Seattle, even maybe her and Harvey getting passes to the Seattle International Film Festival when it rolls around in the spring.
She goes to a yoga class in her neighborhood but on weekends, her and Harvey drive to Green Lake to go on runs together. They find nice restaurants in Belltown and try new bars in Pioneer Square, and their new anniversary spot is The Pink Door. Donna goes to Pike Place Market to get new flowers for their home whenever their current ones die, bc she always is trying to bring new life into their home (like she tried to do with bringing Harvey a cactus lmao). Her and Rachel go to drag brunches in Capitol Hill when they need girl time. She also likes to plan little weekend getaways with Harvey that require ferry trips to the islands right off the mainland!!
She also finds out about the neighborhood art walks and drags Harvey with her to go to them until they narrow down the main ones they regularly visit. He acts like he doesn't like it but it's a way he still feels connected to his mom by supporting local artists!!
Even though Seattle isn't as much as "the city that never sleeps" like New York is, I think that she starts to appreciate being able to live life at a calmer pace with the core four. She loves the view of the Puget Sound she gets in the morning and all of the greenery in her neighborhood. I also think she bitches to Harvey CONSTANTLY about how many tech workers there are in the city that won't look up from their phones and it drives her crazy, also she bitches about the lack of as many luxury stores as there were in Manhattan. Additionally, she ends up driving herself and Harvey places more often than he drives them because he repeatedly and accidentally almost hits cyclists on the street and Donna at least tries to be a little more considerate of the others on the road.
THANK YOU FOR THIS ASK💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Roofies and Camo
!!TW!! Heavy references to drugging and drink tampering
Ch. 1: A night at the club to clear the head
Party season runs rampant this time of year. Between Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, it seems like everyone is using the impending festivities and reunions as an excuse to drink until they can't remember their own names. And you join them. It's not like you had anything better to do, considering you were back in town for two reasons and two reasons only. You came to visit your folks and reminisce on old memories with your fiancee. Except your folks took a surprise trip out of town and won't be back for three days, and your high school sweetheart fiancee decided to toss out the marriage for a waitress with fewer years and fewer grey hairs than you. So, here you are, newly single after a five-year-long relationship, falling back into the chaotic embrace of the downtown nightlife scene.
Flashing, pulsing LED lights, blaring remixes of the top 100 hits and club classics, and outfits far too revealing to see the light of day, the atmosphere makes the unwavering waterfall of tears stop, even if it's just for a night. You find yourself amongst the hoards of inebriated dancers in a club you don't remember the name of. All you remember is it was something edgy like Vortex or Blacklight, and there was a thirty-five-dollar cover fee that was almost enough to turn you right back around and push you into the comfort of a cheap motel and an even cheaper tub of ice cream. But getting over him is worth the thirty-five dollar entry. Maybe even the thirteen-dollar drinks. Ok, maybe not that far, but you're still here.
Bodies push up against one another. Perfect strangers sloppily lock lips as if it's the last time they'll ever get the chance. You have to practically swim through the writhing crowd to make it back to the bar for your third, maybe fifth, or sixth drink. The number doesn't really matter as long as the tears stay gone and you can't feel a thing. Is it unhealthy? Yes. Does it mean you're going to go home and do something better like yoga or journaling? Hell no.
Another fourteen dollars and a vodka soda later, the world blurs together when you turn your head too quickly, and nothing matters. You're loose, you're relaxed, you're having fun, and you're happy. Everything is ok.
It's better, you decide after an internal debate, to hang back by the bar for now. The drinks have a strong hold on you and you're not sure you can trust your legs to fully support you and function enough to walk at the moment. Not quite drunk, you can see drunk from here and it's maybe half a drink off. Yeah, walking is a bad idea right now.
Truth be told, it's equally as entertaining to people-watch as it is to be out on the dancefloor. Seeing women laughing with their friends, seeing men cheer each other on as they race to see who can take down the most shots, seeing folks who know nothing about each other exchange numbers along with flirty winks and drunken promises. Dancing or holding yourself up on the bar, it's better than a room at a questionably cleaned Great Western and a tub of Great Value chocolate ice cream. People having fun and enjoying life. It's what you need. A reminder that things get better and life is fun.
You're not watching for more than five or ten minutes when a man, who you hadn't even noticed had taken up the spot next to you at the bar, taps you on the shoulder, and slides you a drink. He has to lean close to your ear and speak rather loudly to be heard over the blaring music.
"Out by yourself?" The man asks. He's maybe 5' 9", maybe 5' 10" (175-177cm by the rest of the world's measure), wearing an unremarkable outfit of sneakers, jeans, and a dark-colored hoodie (the true color undiscernible because of the club's colored, moving and flashing LEDs and the alcohol doesn't help). His hair is cut tight, sealing his overall uninteresting appearance which could belong to just about any man you'd see out on the streets.
"Yeah... that obvious?" You say back to him, the words not coming out the clearest. The drink he slid you is something dark. "What's this?"
"Rum and Coke. I didn't know what you'd had before so I figured it was a safe enough bet. You seem like you need it, no offense." While he was otherwise uninteresting, he was giving you a free drink and he wasn't the worst person in the world to talk to, so you smile a bit and take the drink. Between the other five or six (or was it seven?) drinks and the loose, party atmosphere, your inhibitions are low and your trust is higher. You sip from the drink as you continue the exchange.
"Fianceé cheated. My options were clubs and bars or crying over some telenovela or romcom. So..." You gesture to the happy-go-lucky hedonists occupying the club. The drink he gave you is heavy on the rum, so much so that you can hardly tell there's coke in there at all. Free is free, you remind yourself as you take another drink.
"Yikes. Well, here's to rebounding then." He taps his drink against yours and drinks it down in one go. You do the same. You two continue to converse over the club remixes and others' equally loud conversations. The seventh (eight...?) drink hits hard. Very hard. The world feels like it's spinning, and the flashing lights and loud music are fueling a budding headache. You're having even more trouble staying upright, your muscles seemingly refusing to hold any weight. "You alright there?" The man asks, looking you in the eye.
" I... um..." It's hard to breathe, like there's a weight pushing on your lungs. Your eyes are having trouble staying open as a wave of exhaustion washes over you. "Think... I need to go home..." You start feeling your pockets for your wallet when the man puts his hand over yours.
"I've got you, don't worry." He gestures for the bartender and hands them his card. After a few moments, both you and the man's tabs are closed and he's putting your arm around his shoulder and his arm around your waist. He helps support your weight as he starts moving you both to the exit.
You're out of it, bad. It's not lost on you that your eyelids start to stay closed more than they're open and your head is equally as cooperative, lulling to the side as your neck just doesn't want to provide any support now. Sounds jumble together as the lights make images of kaleidoscopes flash in your mind. Words seem impossible now, coming out as half-hearted mumbles and grunts that don't sound like any discernable words.
Both of you are halfway between the bar and the exit when a couple of men step in front of you and the man. You're hardly cognisant but catch a flash of camo as your head slumps back again. There's a conversation that you can't make out, you're far too out of it to understand, save for a few snippets.
"We're just headed back home --- too much to drink." The man holding you speaks to the ones blocking the path.
"--- know her?"
"--- came in --- else with her" Two voices you don't recognise.
"--- dating for a few --- likes to party a bit too ---" The man holding you says, shuffling his hold on you so it's a bit more solid and you're pressed closer to his side.
There's a new hand that's firmly but gently sits on your arm. You can make out a guy, maybe in his mid-twenties, with darker skin and a cap that has a flag on it. He speaks to you directly. You don't catch everything he says but it's clearer than the previous conversation.
"--- alright? Do --- know this man?" His eyes, which you catch a glimpse of as your eyes shut involuntarily again, seem soft and concerned.
You can't really pull yourself together to respond, ending up with a jumbled "...hmm?" The man who gave you the drink tries to walk you both forward and around the men but the other man's hand hooks more under your arm and pulls you back closer to him, gently but without room for resistance. You catch a glimpse of the others in the way, two men, one with facial hair and another with a short mohawk. The one in the cap speaks to you again, slowly and heavily pronunciated so you can understand.
"Do. you. know. this. man?"
You muster all your energy and consciousness into shaking your head no. That seems to spring the men into action. The one speaking to you pulls you closer to him and a fourth man joins from behind, prying the man and you apart, pulling his arms off you and pushing you to the capped man and pushing the other away from you. His hands are gloved and his face is obscured. The man with the facial hair grabs the collar of the man with you, pulling him away as well and fully separating the two of you.
The man with the mohawk works with the other to hold you up and bring you to the club exit. A commotion breaks out behind you three but you're rapidly losing consciousness at this point. They get you outside and the cool air wakes you up just a little but not by much. They move you over to a window ledge and help you sit there as they hold you upright and the one with the mohawk pats you on the cheek, trying to jog your consciousness
"--- need to --- just --- awake, ok?" He says, and you catch a hint of accent in your haze. You hum and nod a little, though unconsciousness is creeping in quickly. The other is on the phone as Mr. Mohawk opens up your eyes, shining a light in them that makes you try and pull your head back with a discomforted groan. "I know, I know. Just --- and then --- feel better, ok?" He holds his fingers up in front of you and does a few other things as reality slips away, you don't know what he's doing or if you're supposed to be doing something, but you don't.
An ambulance and police cars come screaming up, sirens and lights blaring. Several EMTs come up to you and start doing this or that, all of which you can't discern as your eyes shut fully and stay shut as you drift into unconsciousness.

🍁Welcome to Fall/Autumn🍁 | Part 2
We've all heard of seasonal depression, but did you know it is a real medical condition? The Cleveland Clinic states, "Seasonal depression, also called seasonal affective disorder (SAD), is a type of depression. It’s triggered by the change of seasons and most commonly begins in late fall. Symptoms include feelings of sadness, lack of energy, loss of interest in usual activities, oversleeping, and weight gain." Preparing for fall to prevent or alleviate seasonal depression, also known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), involves proactive steps to maintain your mental and emotional well-being as the days get shorter and the weather becomes colder.
Here are some strategies to help you prepare for fall and mitigate the symptoms of SAD:
Light Therapy: Consider investing in a light therapy box, also known as a lightbox. These devices mimic natural sunlight and can help alleviate the symptoms of SAD. Use the lightbox in the morning for about 20-30 minutes to regulate your circadian rhythm and boost your mood.
Maintain a Regular Schedule: Stick to a consistent daily routine, including regular wake-up and sleep times. This can help regulate your body's internal clock and improve your mood.
Get Outside: Make an effort to spend time outdoors, even on cloudy days. Exposure to natural light, even when it's overcast, can be beneficial. Take short walks during daylight hours or eat lunch outside if possible.
Exercise Regularly: Engaging in regular physical activity has been shown to be effective in combating depression. Find an indoor or outdoor exercise routine that you enjoy, such as yoga, dancing, or jogging.
Healthy Eating: Maintain a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Consider adding foods high in omega-3 fatty acids, like salmon or flaxseeds, which may have mood-boosting benefits.
Stay Social: Isolation can worsen symptoms of depression. Stay connected with friends and loved ones, even if it means meeting virtually. Plan social activities or join clubs or groups that align with your interests.
Mindfulness and Meditation: Practice mindfulness or meditation techniques to reduce stress and increase self-awareness. Mindfulness can help you stay present and manage negative thought patterns.
Set Realistic Goals: Break your tasks and goals into smaller, manageable steps. Celebrate your achievements along the way to maintain a sense of accomplishment.
Therapy and Support: Consider therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which has been shown to be effective in treating SAD. A therapist can help you develop coping strategies and provide support during difficult times.
Medication: If your symptoms are severe or do not improve with other interventions, consult a healthcare professional about the possibility of medication to manage SAD symptoms.
Plan Fun Activities: Make a list of enjoyable fall activities and events you can look forward to, such as apple picking, pumpkin carving, or attending fall festivals.
Create a Cozy Environment: Make your living space warm and inviting. Decorate with soft blankets, warm colors, and items that make you feel comfortable and cozy.
Monitor Your Mood: Keep a mood journal to track your feelings and identify patterns. This can help you recognize when your symptoms worsen and when you might need extra support.
Stay Informed: Educate yourself about SAD and its symptoms. Knowing what to expect can help you take proactive steps to manage your mental health.
Consult a Healthcare Professional: If you suspect you have SAD or if your symptoms worsen, seek professional help. A healthcare provider can assess your condition and recommend appropriate treatment options.
Remember that everyone's experience with SAD is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. It's important to tailor your self-care and treatment plan to your individual needs. Don't hesitate to reach out for support from healthcare professionals or mental health experts if you're struggling with seasonal depression.

Arielle Silver is a consummate storyteller whose rich, expressive voice and acoustic guitar frame expansive melodies that echo her tours and travels across the American heartland. Raised on folk festival fields and synagogue pews, in woodsy and watery places up and down the Atlantic Seaboard, Arielle now lives in Los Angeles, just a traffic jam away from the Pacific Ocean.
Out in Fall 2023, her fifth album WATERSHED is an earthy, luminous, and literate collection of songs that emerged from the watershed moments of the pandemic. This follows her 2020 album, A THOUSAND TINY TORCHES. Music Connection calls her "“A born communicator... exudes intelligence and humanity.” The SoCal Sound program director calls her "an incredible singer-songwriter right in our backyard." She has performed solo, with violinist Daryl S, and full band at venues across the U.S., including Rockwood Music Hall (NYC), Hamel Music Center (Madison, WI), Folk Project (Morristown, NJ), Hotel Cafe (Los Angeles), Ojai Underground Exchange (Ojai, CA), Club Passim (Boston), John Anson Ford Amphitheater (Los Angeles), FocusMusic (D.C./Baltimore), Eddie's Attic (Atlanta), and The Evening Muse (Charlotte, NC).
Arielle teaches Creative Writing Antioch University, is co-owner of Bhavana Flow Yoga, directs programs at The SONA Foundation, and was recent faculty at UWisc-Madison's Summer Music Clinic and the International Women's Writing Guild, and currently serves as Board President of Folk Alliance Region-West.

To no one's surprise, it is Dew choking Rain. But it might be getting rotated out soon, Swiss has taken over my brain and heart for the minute.
Last song you listened to: I'm Just a Kid - Simple Plan
Currently reading: Aside from fics I don't actually have a book on the go right now, I do have a couple on my bedside table waiting for me to start though.
Last movie: Avatar: The Way of The Water
Craving: A solid night of restful sleep... and a break.
Currently wearing: Drag Talk long sleeve and hoodie and yoga pants/leggings
How tall are you: tol - 5'10/5'11
Piercings: One in each ear, septum and nose. I have had several more but have taken them out for one reason or another.
Tattoos: Left wrist: Family and a semicolon. Right wrist: A flower in a triangle. Back of neck: two snakes with the Gemini constellation. Right leg: A lion and a girl with flowers on my thigh and Stitch on my ankle (He covers a '?' that was done questionably in a tent at a music festival and yes I know that was not wise but I was young and reckless and didn't care.) I have plans for more.
Glasses/contact lenses: I've had glasses since I was 12. I am very short-sighted.
Last drink: Water, it's my main drink.
Last show: Leverage: Redemption.
Last thing you ate: Barbeque chips or crisps (depending on where you are)
Favourite colour: Purple. But I am quite fond of black and teal/darker green too.
Current obsession: Ghost, and Sleep Token are staples and AG got me onto Gaerea, so I'm trying to listen to them and find some favourite tracks.
Unrelated obsession: I guess gaming? Been playing PlateUp! a heap at the moment.
Pets: Two cats. Both are 5 or 6 years old, and both are male. One is white, a bit chonky and has a weeee bit of separation anxiety. The other is brown and he is scared of anything and everything. Loud noise? Looks like a startled llama. Strange person? Startled llama.
Do you have a crush on someone? Romantically? No. Friendship wise? Hell yeah. I have some adorable and attractive friends and I love them all.
Favourite fictional character: If I had to pick one, it would be Parker from Leverage. Her character development and her growth is such a joy to have watched over the original show and the spinoff. I'm very much a character-type fan, a show can be a bit mid as long as I can find some joy or interest in the characters of it.
Last place I travelled to: Aside from trips to my local shops, the city when I saw MCR the other week. My last international trip was to Malaysia in 2015. I do want to travel again soon, I have a few places/people I want to visit.
Tagging: I think @iamthecomet @crimsonclergy (I think everyone else has been tagged)

SA BUILDING A NEW RELIGION, NEW ISLAM, AN INNOVATION (BID’AH), WHICH IS FORBIDDEN ACCORDING TO ISLAMIC LAW...
WHEN KUFR (POLYTHEISM) RISES FROM THE HOME OF THE KA’BAH, WHERE DO BOTH ISLAM AND MUSLIMS GO?
Here some reforms implemented by western educated and trained Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.of Saudi Arabia, that will likely have the biggest impact on the conservative kingdom.
1. Women's driving ban lifted
Saudi Arabia shocked many in the kingdom late September when it was announced a long-standing and controversial ban on women driving in the Saudi Arabia would be lifted in 2018.
2. Saudi's first ever Comic Con
Saudi Arabia's first "Comic Con" event - a US-based pop culture movement - was held in February. The three day festival of anime, pop art, video gaming and film-related events was the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia.
3. Stadiums open to Saudi women
In another landmark move, Saudi Arabia announced its decision to allow women to enter sports stadiums for the first time from next year.
The ultra-conservative kingdom - which has some of the world's tightest restrictions on women - has long barred women from sports arenas by strict rules on segregation.
4. Entertainment city planned
Riyadh announced plans to build an 'entertainment city' outside the capital, Riyadh. The 334 sq km park will include a safari, sports facilities, theme park and other activities.
Saudi Arabia also announced it will build a series of theme parks in the Kingdom with US-based developer Six Flags involved in the projects.
5. Music concerts allowed
A series of concerts by international and Arab artists were hosted in Saudi Arabia in 2017 including the first exclusively female music concert with a performance from Lebanese singer Hiba Tawaji.
Saudis spent billions of dollars annually to see movies, attend concerts and visit amusement parks in neighbouring tourist hubs of Bahrain and Dubai.
6. Cinema ban lifted
For the first time in 35 years, cinemas in Saudi Arabia opened their doors to the public.
7. Tourist Visas
With promises of new entertainment facilities, theme parks, cinemas, concerts and water parks, and the promotion of Saudi Arabia's historical sites, all that was missing was the ever-elusive tourist visa. The government approved a tourist visa program in October.
8. Mixed-gender national day celebrations
The kingdom's national day in September saw women allowed to enter the Riyadh's main stadium to join in with celebrations for the first time.
The presence of women at the King Fahd Stadium marked a departure from previous celebrations in the Gulf kingdom.
Women were allowed to enter the stadium, a previously male-only venue used mostly for football matches. Women and their families were seated separately from single men but it allowed them to watch a musical show and a play on Saudi history.
9. Yoga
Fitness enthusiasts in Saudi Arabia can rejoice - yoga is officially back on the program.
The Saudi ministry of trade and industry has officially approved the teaching of yoga and listed it under their sports activities.
Those wishing to practice or teach yoga can now collect a license from the ministry. Fun times for yogis.
10. Saudi Arabia abolishes flogging
Saudi Arabia has abolished flogging as a punishment, the state human rights commission said Saturday, hailing a “major step forward” in the reform program.
Court-ordered floggings in Saudi Arabia sometimes extending to hundreds of lashes — have long drawn condemnation from human rights groups.
