Jin Ling: Master Sleuth

#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#wei wuxian#jin ling#When you're so good at acting gay that you manage to fool even *this* fruity kid#Jin Ling's internalized homophobia once again saves the day#What a world we live in.#Jin Ling really said “Sorry my uncle's gaydar is so bad. Go out and frolic in the forest or whatever.”#Sure MXY's reputation helps out *and* the fact wwx was playing into that reputation#but at this point wwx has not caught feelings. This might imply that JL might actually have a good gaydar#The power is stored in his antenna. It's actually magnetized and repelled by magnetic forces similar to its own.#I ended up cutting it from the script but I really love the convo that follows this moment.#the 'two phrases' scene means so much to me. Its about realizing that there are times you *need* to put your pride aside#It doesn't matter if you feel its 'cringe' or makes you look bad. You can't connect with others up high on your self-made pedestal#I could go on but I'll leave it there for now B*)

(TW: Fish gore and internals)
Colorless, human design and some info under the cut.
So, the mer AU.
Some species of mermaids are known to haunt humans when they are hungry, other species don't. Sirens are known to sing (or scream at the sky, if you want to call it that) when a storm is coming.
Sun is inspired by flying fish, and the tongue by a sea butterfly's mouth. (because of the "wing" fins I would consider him a siren, but a lot of mythological creatures are called sirens so idk). He's clingy and an attention hoarder.
Moon is inspired by abyssal fish, lophiiformes (specifically those with antennas) and black dragon fish. He's pretty chill as long as is well fed. He purposely creeps out others with his antennas, and hates Sun's tongue thing.
And Eclipse is inspired by axolotls and leafy sea dragons. They're pretty pacific but won't hesitate in defending themselves when they can't find a way out. Their tail is strong, they can send you flying across the room.
Here is the human design (my selfinsert, Fern) + outfits and a size chart of them long boys.
In this AU Fern is a student at a marine biology university. They conserve and rescue marine life. Some of the rescued especies being the celestial trio, which were assigned under Ferns care with help from another student.
Some images of the three together in one picture that were supposed to be the header of the post but didn't decide which to chose so I'm putting here my 5 favourites. They don't quite fit well 'cuz I drew them separately.

Hi, hello, hey!! I just saw your Mammon x reader who calls him husband sometime and I loved it so much just- chefs kiss! If your willing, maybe a Vox x reader like that?
Vox X Reader [Romantic]
In which you refer to Vox as your husband, despite the fact that you aren't married. Genderneutral reader.
It was your 7th anniversary, and as per he had planned out a lovely evening for the both of you
He made you breakfast in bed (one for himself too, so you could hang out)
Then you went out for brunch
A 4-hour couple spa retreat
And then he had a stylist ready to pamper you and prepare you for dinner
It was never a simple evening if it was anything important to you, Vox treated you like you'd been married your whole life
He never leaves the honeymoon phase
But at the same time, he's so distracted with the company and how well everything is going that he doesn't really think about change
Change is good, so long as it's for the better, but that's business talk!
The only change he concerns himself with when it comes to you is you being hurt or leaving him
If he can wake up every day by your side to you happy and healthy, then there's nothing to change
Vox gets to the restaurant before you just to make sure everything is perfect
Candles, a fresh bundle of flowers he bought right before, and a spritz of the cologne he knows you adore
When you looked around to find him and he waved you over, you dismissed yourself from the host
" Oh! I see my husband right over there. Thank you! "
As far as he was, he heard every little word
A snap of electricity sparks between his antennae
As you approach him, he is internally saving the audio and replaying it over and over in his head
' Oh! I see my husband—my husband—my husband—my husband— '
" Hell to Vox? "
The audio is turned down, but he's still replaying it as he snaps back to reality, a large grin on his illuminated screen
" Shit! Yeah. Hey, babe, you look amazing! "
Amazing was an understatement, but he was so flustered that you had almost caught him in his embarassing love-sick ways that he couldn't get his charm back on fast enough
Your favourite wine is poured fresh out of the bottle into a chilled glass by his twitching hand, but you're so long in conversation that you don't notice how shaky he is
Internally, he's already browsing for rings and setting up appointments with wedding planners
It's almost as if he just heard you say, 'I do', and there's no braking on this high-speed chase now
Author's Note - I really loved this prompt on Mammon, and it suits Vox a lot too! Thank you so much for requesting, I hope its met your expectations!

A 4G LTE internal PCB antenna is a type of antenna that is integrated directly onto a printed circuit board (PCB) and is designed to receive and transmit 4G LTE signals. These types of antennas are commonly used in mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, and other wireless devices that require cellular connectivity.
The PCB antenna is typically made up of a thin copper layer that is etched onto the surface of the PCB. This copper layer is then designed to act as a conductor for the 4G LTE signals. The size and shape of the copper layer are carefully designed to match the frequency of the 4G LTE signal, which allows the antenna to efficiently transmit and receive signals.
One of the main advantages of a 4G LTE internal PCB antenna is that it is compact and does not require any external components or connectors. This makes it an ideal solution for space-constrained mobile devices. Additionally, because the antenna is integrated directly onto the PCB, it can help to reduce the overall cost of the device.
However, one potential drawback of an internal PCB antenna is that its performance can be affected by the surrounding environment. Factors such as the position of the antenna within the device, the materials used in the device's construction, and the proximity of other components can all affect the antenna's performance. Therefore, careful design and testing are necessary to ensure that the antenna meets the required performance specifications.

my edgar concept (tidbits about it under the cut)
-his monitor is still his head, but his extra atttachments like keyboard and mouse are similar to his chest or waist. this is why he hates others touching it
-his devil ears are his connection to the ethernet. They are only present when he's trying to make a connection
-his devil tail was his original electric plug, but it's unusable now -the green represents an electric current, they aren't physical. I like to think of it as his "love" and the more he expands the more his "love" grows -when he connects his screen to a new one, his body is then rearranged depending on the technology. Ex: in the scene where he goes to argue with moles in bed, the tv is his head and the antennas his ears/horns
-his representation of internal organs (until the end of the movie) are stuck within the computer. that's why he's unable to escape the house despite transferring his mind all around the place
-he can manifest hands and legs, but no arms! In reference to this poster
-he's got autism and we'll be having a summer wedding

9 Out-of-This-World Moments for Space Communications & Navigation in 2023
How do astronauts and spacecraft communicate with Earth?
By using relay satellites and giant antennas around the globe! These tools are crucial to NASA’s space communications networks: the Near Space Network and the Deep Space Network, which bring back science and exploration data every day.
It’s been a great year for our space communications and navigation community, who work to maintain the networks and enhance NASA’s capabilities. Keep scrolling to learn more about our top nine moments.
The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Dragon spacecraft lifts off from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, on the company's 29th commercial resupply services mission for the agency to the International Space Station. Liftoff was at 8:28 p.m. EST.
1. In November, we launched a laser communications payload, known as ILLUMA-T, to the International Space Station. Now, ILLUMA-T and the Laser Communications Relay Demonstration (LCRD) are exchanging data and officially complete NASA’s first two-way, end-to-end laser relay system. Laser communications can send more data at once than traditional radio wave systems – think upgrading from dial-up to fiber optic internet. ILLUMA-T and LCRD are chatting at 1.2 gigabits per second (Gbps). At that rate, you could download an average movie in under a minute.
NASA’s InSight lander captured this selfie on Mars on April 24, 2022, the 1,211th Martian day, or sol, of the mission.
2. Data analyzed in 2023 from NASA’s retired InSight Mars lander provided new details about how fast the Red Planet rotates and how much it wobbles. Scientists leveraged InSight’s advanced radio technology, upgrades to the Deep Space Network, and radio signals to determine that Mars’ spin rate is increasing, while making the most precise measurements ever of Mars’ rotation.
TBIRD is demonstrating a direct-to-Earth laser communications link from low Earth orbit to a ground station on Earth.
3. We set a new high record! The TeraByte InfraRed Delivery (TBIRD) payload – also demonstrating laser communications like ILLUMA-T and LCRD – downlinked 4.8 terabytes of data at 200 Gbps in a single 5-minute pass. This is the highest data rate ever achieved by laser communications technology. To put it in perspective a single terabyte is the equivalent of about 500 hours of high-definition video.
A 34-meter (112-foot) wide antenna at Canberra Deep Space Communications Complex near Canberra, Australia.
4. This year we celebrated the Deep Space Network’s 60th anniversary. This international array of antennas located at three complexes in California, Spain, and Australia allow us to communicate with spacecraft at the Moon and beyond. Learn more about the Deep Space Network’s legacy and future advancements.
An illustration of the LunaNet architecture. LunaNet will bring internet-like services to the Moon.
5. We are bringing humans to the Moon with Artemis missions. During expeditions, astronauts exploring the surface are going to need internet-like capabilities to talk to mission control, understand their routes, and ensure overall safety. The space comm and nav group is working with international partners and commercial companies to develop LunaNet, and in 2023, the team released Draft LunaNet Specification Version 5, furthering development.
The High-Rate Delay Tolerant Networking node launched to the International Space Station in November and will act as a high-speed path for data.
6. In addition to laser communications, ILLUMA-T on the International Space Station is also demonstrating high-rate delay/disruption tolerant networking (HDTN). The networking node is showcasing a high-speed data path and a store-and-forward technique. HDTN ensures data reaches its final destination and isn’t lost on its path due to a disruption or delay, which are frequent in the space environment.
The Communications Services Project (CSP) partners with commercial industry to provide networking options for future spaceflight missions.
7. The space comm and nav team is embracing the growing aerospace industry by partnering with commercial companies to provide multiple networking options for science and exploration missions. Throughout 2023, our commercialization groups engaged with over 110 companies through events, one-on-one meetings, forums, conferences, and more. Over the next decade, NASA plans to transition near-Earth services from government assets to commercial infrastructure.
Middle and high school students solve a coding experiment during NASA's Office of STEM Engagement App Development Challenge.
8. Every year, NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement sponsors the App Development Challenge, wherein middle and high school students must solve a coding challenge. This year, student groups coded an application to visualize the Moon’s South Pole region and display information for navigating the Moon’s surface. Our space communications and navigation experts judged and interviewed students about their projects and the top teams visited NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston!
A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket soars upward after liftoff at the pad at 3:27 a.m. EDT on Saturday, Aug. 26, from Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Complex 39A in Florida carrying NASA’s SpaceX Crew-7 crew members to the International Space Station. Aboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft are NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli, ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Andreas Mogensen, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Satoshi Furukawa, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Konstantin Borisov.
9. The Near Space Network supported 19 launches in 2023! Launches included Commercial Crew flights to the International Space Station, science mission launches like XRISM and the SuperBIT balloon, and many more. Once in orbit, these satellites use Near Space Network antennas and relays to send their critical data to Earth. In 2023, the Near Space Network provided over 10 million minutes of communications support to missions in space.
Here’s to another year connecting Earth and space.
