Within India, the most love marriages take place in Kerala and the north-eastern states. This could be due to a higher proportion of Christians and tribals without caste limitations. Yet the largest survey in India suggests that only 3% of marriages are love marriages, 93% are arranged, and 4% are "semi-arranged". Semi-arranged marriages are not based on love, although the youngsters have more say in them. Less than 5% of marriages are across castes. Youngsters marrying across castes have often been burned alive by their parents with the full approval of village elders to "save the honour" of the family and village. Honour killings represent the tyranny of the old over the young.

The Sioux who Married the Crow Chief's Daughter
The Sioux who Married the Crow Chief's Daughter is a legend of the Lakota Sioux about Chief Big Eagle who left his people to marry a woman of the enemy Crow nation but never forgot the duties owed to his own people. The story highlights the values of personal honor and integrity.
It is also cited as an example of the practice of 'counting coup' and its importance in Native American warfare, of the value of horses in the tradition of the Plains Indians Culture, the challenges of inter-tribal marriages, and how members of different tribes who spoke different languages communicated with each other through signs.
The story is among the most popular of the Lakota Sioux and frequently anthologized as it is, at once, a love story, an adventure tale, and provides insight into the Plains Indians Culture.
Counting Coup
Historically, counting coup was a highly respected tradition of establishing one's reputation as a warrior for bravery and skill in battle. The warrior sought to touch an enemy, without killing him, either with the hand, a spear or lance, one's bow, a knife, or the object known as a coup stick – a wooden rod sometimes curved at the end. It was considered more honorable to disgrace an enemy warrior by counting coup on him than by killing him although the first 'coup' might then lead to his death in a second engagement.
The practice would be similar to tagging someone in a game. A warrior had to get close enough to the opponent to touch him and then get away before retaliation. A true 'coup' was struck when the warrior returned from its delivery unscathed. If one were successful, one could then place a notch in one's coup stick and/or place an eagle feather in one's headdress. One's opponent was understood to have been shamed and defeated by the coup and might leave the field of battle. If he refused to and was then killed by the same warrior who had counted coup on him, that was understood as a second coup, and if the dead man were then scalped, that constituted a third coup, just as then taking the man's horse became a fourth.
The greatest warriors – of the Sioux as well as other Plains Indians nations – were recognized by the number of notches on their coup sticks, feathers in a headdress, or other talismans indicating the number of opponents one had counted coup against successfully. Scholar Adele Nozedar comments:
The greatest honor was that initial touch, that contact with the living enemy. This was considered to be even more important than the killing. Considering this logically, it takes more nerve to have physical contact with a foe than it does to kill him from a distance, say, with a bow and arrow, or with a bullet from a gun. (117)
In the story, Big Eagle is respected by both his own people and the Crow nation he marries into for going into battle armed only with a coup stick. Although he participates in the war parties of the Crow against the Sioux, he refuses to kill his own people. In striking them with the coup stick, they become 'fallen' but have not been killed.

The sexuality of women, consisting of their sexual and their reproductive capacities and services, was commodified even prior to the creation of Western civilization. The development of agriculture in the Neolithic period fostered the inter-tribal "exchange of women," not only as a means of avoiding incessant warfare by the cementing of marriage alliances but also because societies with more women could produce more children. In contrast to the economic needs of hunting/gathering societies, agriculturists could use the labor of children to increase production and accumulate surpluses. Men-as-a-group had rights in women which women-as-a-group did not have in men. Women themselves became a resource, acquired by men much as the land was acquired by men. Women were exchanged or bought in marriages for the benefit of their families; later, they were conquered or bought in slavery, where their sexual services were part of their labor and where their children were the property of their masters. In every known society it was women of conquered tribes who were first enslaved, whereas men were killed. It was only after men had learned how to enslave the women of groups who could be defined as strangers, that they learned how to enslave men of those groups and, later, subordinates from within their own societies.
Thus, the enslavement of women, combining both racism and sexism, preceded the formation of classes and class oppression. Class differences were, at their very beginnings, expressed and constituted in terms of patriarchal relations. Class is not a separate construct from gender; rather, class is expressed in genderic terms.

Dukhtar (Afia Nathaniel, 2014)
Cast: Samiyah Mumtaz, Mohib Mirza, Saleha Aref, Asif Khan, Ajab Gul, Samina Ahmad, Adnan Shah, Abdullah Jaan, Omair Rana. Screenplay: Afia Nathaniel. Cinematography: Najaf Bilgrami, Armughan Hassan. Production design: Nauman Kashif. Film editing: Armughan Hassan, Afia Nathaniel, Lee Percy. Music: Sahir Ali Bagga, Peter Nashel.
Dukhtar takes place where tourists fear to tread: the mountainous parts of northern Pakistan. But it's not a film about inter-religious strife or terrorism, except for the kind of emotional terrorism that results from the conflict between ancient tribalism and the modern world. The "daughter" of the film's title -- in the opening credits the Urdu word "dukhtar" morphs into the English equivalent -- is Zainab (Saleha Aref), a bright girl on the verge of puberty, whom we see in a charming scene early in the film trying to teach her mother, Allah Rakhi (Samiya Mumtaz), some of the English that she has learned at school. But Zainab's education is about to be threatened: Her father, the tribal chief Daulat Khan (Asif Khan), is trying to put an end to the longstanding blood feud with a rival tribe led by Tor Gul (Abdullah Jan). They come to a deal: The feud will end if Daulat Khan will give his daughter in marriage to the elderly Tor Gul. But Allah Rakhi, who as a girl was married to Daulat Khan in a similar arrangement, doesn't want to see her daughter condemned to the same kind of life. She takes Zainab and flees. Along the way she persuades a young truck driver, Sohail (Mohib Mirza), to give them a lift. He takes them, after several narrow escapes, to his home in the mountains and finally to crowded and busy Lahore, where Allah Rakhi is to meet with her mother, whom she hasn't seen since her marriage. Afia Nathaniel's screenplay is a bit on the formulaic side: We've seen many versions of this flight-and-pursuit road movie, and her film contains all of the usual close calls and missed connections we've come to expect. The movie gets its life and an appearance of freshness from the performances. Saleha Aref invests Zainab with the awkwardness and rebellion that you'd expect from a girl her age, Samiya Mumtaz is convincingly both fierce and tender, and the chemistry that develops between her character and Mohib Mirza's is convincing. Even better, the cinematography by Armughan Hassan is superb, from the sweeping spectacle of the mountain background to the rich use of color. The film departs from the conventions of its genre with an ambiguous ending, which points up the difficulty of trying to force real-life concerns like tribalism and the status of women into a movie formula: Neither a traditional happy ending nor a bleak triumph of the status quo would have felt right. Dukhtar is Nathaniel's first feature, and it shows more than just promise.

Abraham was of the Semitic Race with curly hair and robust features. He ... Abraham was of the Semitic Race with curly hair and robust features. He was not white or black. https://youtu.be/F_cevguBGHw Thus, the Palestinians are more pure Abrahamic than the white Jews. NOBILITY OF ABRAHAM. By Chaudhry Rajinder NIJJHAR, M.Sc., Retired Senior Lecturer in Metallurgy, KNUST, Kumasi, Ghana, West Africa. YouTube link to my Private Bitter Gospel Truth videos:- www.gnosticgospel.co.uk/nobility.htm Part 1:- The nobility of Abraham:- He was of the Semitic Race loving both the white Aryan and the black Negro alike - 1. https://youtu.be/FPAVpeKwALY Abraham was a Nobel Saint. Yahweh gave him the Promised Land, and Garden of Eden so far they are the Salt of Abraham. https://youtu.be/sLFqKM3BL3U Part 3:- In this Dark Age of Christ within you, you reap what you had sown. So, you cannot blame a third person. Everyone is to give his own account to God. https://youtu.be/BaKM-iT3-dc Now, let us revert back to our main subject, the Salt of the Noble Abraham. Abraham was of the Semitic race and so his people should have black curly hair but not so strong a curl as those of the Negroes. You will notice that most of the Palestinians have curly hair proving that their forefather was Abraham whilst through inter-racial marriages, the race gets diluted but it cannot be hundred per cent white like the Aryans. So, these snow white Jews of appearances outwardly and not spiritual inwardly were created by the greedy Temple Priests who divided the court of the Temple Yahweh, the creator of male and female letting the Chosen People with their gadget sitting in the front whilst the visitors behind the wall. That boosted the “ego” of the Chosen People and that is why the lepers Jesus cured rushed straight to their Rabbis so that they can sit in the front with stiff necks and forgot what mighty deed of Mercy Jesus had rendered to them. This showed how much Saltless fanatic devils they were – John 8v44. Whereas when a Samaritan man found that he is cured of leprosy, he instead of going back to his people returned back not only to thank Jesus from the core of his heart but also joined Jesus to know the Gospel Truth that too was known to the Samaritan Rabbis, the generation of the faithful son of Abraham Joseph whom the other crook Eleven Patriarchs want to kill him but sold as a slave that the faithful sons of Abraham through Ishmael honoured him very much above the tribal link. In the same way, Baby Jesus that the “Saltless” unfaithful to Abraham and Yahweh sons of Isaac want to kill Him for they loved Darkness to fleece the devotees. Remember that the greedy sons of Isaac, were staunch enemy of Christ Jesus and they wanted to kill Jesus and his First Fruit of Resurrection Lazarus. For this, they told a pack of lies to their stooges who believed in them as depicted in the trial of Jesus before the Pilate. This nature has not gone from them and their convert through the Messianic Jews who killed more people than the Temple Priests fulfilling Matt 12v43-45 and made the situation worse than before the arrival of Christ Jesus. The AntiChrist Pope and his hireling Dog-Collared stooges killed many and to get rid of these Middle men Jesus delivered to us His Word to Perceive the Face of Him as Moses did and showed the back to the people in the written corruptible Torah, the Old Cloth full of holes. Thus, the Gospel Absolute Truth is received through logical reasoning called intuition which the men of the dead letters, the University Professors are incapable but the illiterate Shepherds use intuition to understand what is said to them – 2Cor3. So, this is just an introduction to the Gospel Truth and through intuition or the logical reasoning, you can open the Treasury of our Supernatural Father. Thus, Christ Jesus is known to the living Christs capable of logical reasoning and not to the dead in Letters Christian Forbidden Bible Thumpers. Our covenant of the Scriptures finished with John, the Baptist – Luke 16v16. Only the AntiChrist carry the Bible under their armpits and argue with each other. Thus, most of the Palestinians have curly hair and they are the “Salt of Abraham” whilst most of the Jews were made Jews of appearance for the sake of greed and through circumcision, they changed their tribal identity to Isaac and became “Saltless” super Bastards as the father cannot be changed. Such Saltless Super Bastards showed their colours in the partition of India in 1947 and in 1984 too. Let me make a Youtube video to explain in details. My ebook by Kindle. Lagos Archbishop condemns ethnic profiling, calls for peace, tolerance
The Catholic Archbishop of Lagos State, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins, on Wednesday condemned all forms of ethnic profiling, utterances and violence witnessed in some parts of the state before, during and after the recent elections. In a statement signed by the Director of Social Communications, Rev. Fr. Anthony Godonu Martins urged the Lagos State government, to, as a matter of urgency, call all political parties to order and to put in place machinery for urgent restoration of peace and normalcy. The prelate said if the trend was not quickly checked, it could truncate the peaceful coexistence of residents of the state. The clergy also implored law enforcement agencies to safeguard the lives and property of all residents irrespective of tribe, religion, or ethnic group. He noted that the ethnic and discriminatory comments making the rounds, especially on social media, are not a reflection of the true nature of Lagosians, who are known to be peace-loving, accommodating and cosmopolitan, including by promoting inter-tribal marriages for many decades. He said, “I call on everyone to put a stop to the spread of hate speech and fake news and to shun all forms of rancour. “The divisive comments and behaviours, particularly along the ethnic or tribal line, is not conducive to good neighbourliness and peaceful coexistence. “We are all equal before God. We are Nigerians and have lived and interacted together as one people for decades in Lagos and other parts of our country.” Prior to Saturday’s gubernatorial election, Igbos were attacked in Lagos State. Markets mostly populated by Igbos were attacked and burnt down before the gubernatorial election. During the governorship election, some thugs believed to be loyal to the All Progressives Congress, APC, issued warnings to Igbos against coming out to cast their votes. The attacks followed the victory of Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party, LP, presidential candidate, in Lagos. Read the full article

MLP G4 Reboot: Pony Society
Some general information on how pony society is in this AU. The major celebrations like The Summer Sun Celebration, Nightmare Night, Hearth’s Warming, Hearts and Hooves Day, and others are the same for the most part but their origins will have some differences.
Edit on Feb/04/2023: Changed and added some things.
The age of majority for ponies and other equines is fifteen-years-old. They also mentally mature a bit more quickly than humans.
Ponies have relatively long life-spans compared to humans. Earth Ponies can live well-past 100 years, Unicorns are the longest living after Alicorns, and Pegasi are somewhere in between.
General Education begins at age three and continues up until around age 13. Afterwards, they move on to either higher education or an apprenticeship.
Exceptions are if the pony joins their family’s business (like Applejack) or they have received specialized education since their youth (like Twilight Sparkle).
Young foals can also receive lessons on subjects that interest them, whether they have relation to their Special Talent or not.
Ponies typically acquire their Cutie Marks between the ages of 6 and 12 with the majority being in the 8-10 age range. Getting a Cutie Mark before the age of six or after the age of 12 is rare.
Ponies are omnivorous and are capable of eating meat. Most have an herbivorous diet because it’s the most available food source. Also, some ponies just think that eating meat is barbaric.
Fish is the main meat product that ponies consume with Pegasi in particular having a taste for it.
The three main tribes have physical differences beyond having horns, wings, or neither.
The average Unicorn has a slim and delicate body. Since most over rely on their magic, their physical strength is less than other tribes. Unicorns vary in height, with Canterlotian Unicorns being taller than Unicorns from other places on average.
The average Pegasus has a slim but strong body suited for fast flight. Their physical strength is greater than the average Unicorn but not as much as the average Earth Pony. Their height varies, though not as much as Unicorns.
On average, Earth Ponies are bigger and physically stronger than Unicorns and Pegasi. Some Earth Ponies can even grow to be almost as tall as Princess Celestia.
Alicorns, of course, can grow to be taller than any pony of any tribe.
Nowadays, there is a lot of variety on height and body shape due to inter-tribal marriages.
There are other Pony Tribes besides the Unicorns, Pegasi, and Earth Ponies. Most of them live separated from the main tribes and there is some history of discrimination and persecution by the main tribes.
These other tribes also have extended life-spans compared to humans.
Relationships between same sex-couples and other LGBTQ + expressions have been mostly accepted for centuries.
Polyamorous relationships are accepted, though they are considered somewhat old-fashioned by modern ponies.

Pre-contact Native American Connectivity
November is national Native American Heritage Month!
The indigenous people of the US and Canada lived in large groups, and those groups were connected with each other.
Many groups, like the contemporary nations of Europe, engaged in cycles of warfare and alliances. However, the warfare was generally less bloody, as they would fight until beaten, not 'to the last man', and the political leaders were more involved in the fighting than were European kings and emperors.
Treaties and alliances were common as well. The most famous example is the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy), an alliance of five (later six) tribes in the Northeastern Woodlands. The unique political system there set the stage for, and was an important inspiration to, American democracy after 1776.
Trade spanned the continent for thousands of years. The Mississippi River was an important tradeway, and materials and goods moved thousands of miles along it. Civilizations would commonly have both materials from the Gulf of Mexico and copper from around the Great Lakes. When Europeans landed in what is now Massachusetts and were taught to coplant the Three Sisters, those three crops (maize, beans, squash) were all originally Mexican plants.
We also know that inter-tribal adoptions took place, as well as marriages.
The map of language families also elaborates the unique relations between tribes that existed far away from each other. The Athabaskan languages (a subgroup contained within the Na-Dené linguistic family) occur in Alaska and northwest Canada, a few spots on the Pacific Coast, and in a large cluster in what is now New Mexico and Texas.
Tumblr media
[image description: a gray map of the US and Canada with regions of Athabaskans marked in red. By far the largest reason is covers Alaska and the left half of Canada, mostly inland and away from the coast. There are four small sports on the Pacific Coast in the US. There is another large hotspot near New Mexico and Texas, but it is more broken up than the Canada hotspot.]

Project Plan
Abellon, Joanna Chris
History of Filipino Music
Music is the collective expression of a particular people's musical genius. Such is the situation with Philippine music. Filipinos, who are naturally musical, have absorbed these traditions and woven their musical innovations into these mainstream musical ideas from the beginning to the present. Philippine society has witnessed the emergence of music in many forms and artistic subtleties over time.
The Indigenous Traditions
While there is no documented record of music in the Philippines prior to Magellan's arrival in 1521, later records by friars, public workers, and tourists offer descriptions of instrumental and vocal music–at times in passing, at other times in greater detail. Various types of bronze, bamboo, and wood interments are mentioned in these records. Gongs of various sizes and shapes, drums, flutes of various types, zithers, lutes, clappers, and buzzers are among them. Songs to celebrate festive occasions such as marriage, birth, victory in war, or the settling of tribal disputes; mourning songs for the dead; courting songs; and children's game songs are all examples of vocal genres. Indigenous peoples still perform this sort of music today.
The Spanish-European Influenced
Traditions With the arrival of the Spaniards, Filipino music underwent a shift as western influences, particularly the Spanish-European culture prevalent during the 17th to 19th century, were introduced. After 1521, Hispanization was linked to religious conversion for the next three centuries. It caused a shift in people's musical perceptions, resulting in a hybrid expression tinted with Hispanic flavor. It resulted in religious music that was both connected to and apart from the Catholic liturgy, as well as secular music that was appropriated by the Filipinos and represented in folk songs and instrumental music.
The American Influenced Tradition
During the American occupation, which lasted from 1898 until 1946, Philippine music underwent another transition. A lighter form of music existed alongside the traditional art music tradition. Styled folk melodies, theater music, and instrumental music are all part of this semi-classical repertoire. The sarswela tradition generated a significant corpus of music that included songs modeled after current opera arias, as well as short instrumental overtures and interludes. The Philippines' strong band heritage, which dates back to the Spanish period and continues to this day, has produced remarkable musicians, composers, and performers. The rondalla, which succeeded the cumparsa as a popular instrumental ensemble, was another popular instrumental ensemble. The latter was an adaption of similarinstrumental groupings such as Mexico's murza and Spain's estudiantina.

In 1513, the Spanish invader Vasco Nuñez de Balboa massacred 40 indigenous Panamanian Two-Spirit people by feeding them alive to his war dogs.
“I saw a devilish thing,” Spanish colonialist Alvar Nuñez Cabeza de Vaca wrote in the sixteenth century: “Sinful, heinous, perverted, nefarious, abominable, unnatural, disgusting, lewd...”
...Antonio de la Calancha, a Spanish official in Lima, wrote that during Vasco Nuñez de BalboaÂŽs expedition across Panama, Balboa “saw men dressed like women; Balboa learnt that they were sodomites and threw the king and forty others to be eaten by his dogs, a fine action of an honorable and Catholic Spaniard.” [X]
What is often overlooked about this massacre is the monumental weight of the event, it shook the continent.
This was one of the first catastrophic events of colonization, a direct and brutal declaration of spiritual war, moving like a shockwave ahead of the physical war.
This was BECAUSE they were TWO-SPIRIT.
Tumblr media
Within decades, traveling by foot thousands of miles, news of this direct attack on two-spirit people spread all the way up into what is now called North America. This was a culturally devastating threat for many nations, as they viewed their two-spirit relatives and leaders as a divine connection to, and sacred guidance from, the Creator.
Describing his first trip down the Mississippi in the seventeenth century, Jesuit Jacques Marquette chronicled the attitudes of the Illinois and Nadouessi to the Two-Spirits. “They are summoned to the Councils, and nothing can be decided without their advice. Finally, through their profession of leading and Extraordinary life, they pass for Manitous, – that is to say, for Spirits, – or persons of Consequence.”
French missionary Joseph Francois Lafitau: “They believe they are honored
” he wrote in 1724, “they participate in all religious ceremonies, and this profession of an extraordinary life causes them to be regarded as people of a higher order

Even before seeing European invaders with their own eyes, many tribes knew of this massacre and began to ignore the two-spirit qualities in their own children, in the hopes of protecting sacred people and hiding them from invading attention. Within 200 years of this massacre, two-spirit cultures across the continent had largely gone underground, or they had hidden traditional knowledge from their own youth out of fear.
This spiritual rift between the people and their two-spirit youth only deepened with the forced assimilation of boarding schools, which began detaining indigenous children 347 years after the massacre.
Tumblr media
The term “Two-Spirit” was coined in the 90â€Čs inter-tribally, in the spirit of solidarity between native nations, to decolonize their internalized views of gender/sexuality and once again embrace two-spirit people. However, many are still advocating within their own tribes for recognition and respect.  “Two-Spirit” is an umbrella term, similar to “LGBTQ+”; the meaning is entirely dependent on the individual’s culture to define. For some nations it’s gender based, others it’s sexuality based, and for many a mixture of both. But for all nations with two-spirit people, it was a cultural role that went above and beyond gender or sexuality and into the realm of a blessing to the people - of Creator’s mysterious divine diversity.
In many nations 2S people held esteemed and sacred roles within traditional society, such as providing insight and guidance to medicine men or spiritual leaders, adopting orphans and the elders without family into their houses, marriage counsellors and matchmakers, being legendary artists and warriors, and being highly desirable as lovers or partners because of their status and divine power. In my own tribe, mixóge were considered a blessing upon the people from Creator, a symbol of a healthy, harmonious and complete nation.
Balboa is still remembered and venerated in Panama as a heroic explorer.
“Balboa is best remembered in Panama, where many streets, businesses, and parks bear his name. There is a stately monument in his honor in Panama City (a district of which bears his name) and the national currency is called the Balboa. There is even a lunar crater named after him.”
It’s Native American Heritage Month AND recently Trans Day of Remembrance. I hope ya’ll share this and recognize the gravity of this inherited trauma for Two-Spirit people.

Dark Age of Christ within your own heart. The Greedy Thief Pastors canno... Dark Age of Christ within your own heart. The Greedy Thief Pastors cannot enter the Royal Kingdom of God. https://youtu.be/gTSmSUF02UE NOBILITY OF ABRAHAM. By Chaudhry Rajinder NIJJHAR, M.Sc., Retired Senior Lecturer in Metallurgy, KNUST, Kumasi, Ghana, West Africa. Part 1 I hail from Punjab, India, where the Second Coming of Jesus in the name of Satguru Nanak Dev Ji appeared in 1469 among the most spiritually sick Satanic greedy people of the Khatri tribe and He Preached the Gospel through Five more Lights. As the people of the Khatri tribe were Kings and Emperors of Darkness as compared with the people of Judah tribe, the Princes of Darkness. Sikhism was protected by Four Royal Kings (Sachae Patshahs) who enforced Righteousness by the sword power as the word of mouth was not enough as Jesus had rebuked Judas Iscariot of the Judah tribe and he dare not take the Blood money home but killed himself out of the remorse. Part 2:- Now, Christ or Satguru appears when the Rabbis/Brahmins become so crook that the Prophet could not whip them anymore and they become very aggressive, confrontation between the Born-Blind young man of age versus the Rabbis and how the ruling Rabbis tried to make fool of him but he retorted, “Do you also want to become the Disciples of Christ Jesus”? So, when the Rabbis become aggressive rulers worshipping Mammon and not God, then only our Supernatural Father of our supernatural “soul” sends His Very Son that represents Father in all His Attributes to get rid of the cruel Rabbis/Brahmins and introduce Him through His Word, the Light that disperses the Fog of Falsehoods called “KOORR”, Master of the lies that is only exposed by His Word delivered by the Christ/Satguru. Thus, the First Christ came in the Middle East among the most Satanic people of the Judah tribe and then, in the East among the people of Khatri tribe, the Kings and Emperors of Darkness. I have been told that the Iranian Ayatollah Khomeini hailed from Kashmir, the world renowned centre of theology in the past. Part 3:- Now, let us revert back to our main subject, the Salt of the Noble Abraham. Thus, the Gospel Absolute Truth is received through logical reasoning called intuition which the men of the dead letters, the University Professors are incapable but the illiterate Shepher www.gnosticgospel.co.uk/Rest.htm Any helper to finish my Books:- ONE GOD ONE FAITH:- www.gnosticgospel.co.uk/bookfin.pdf and in Punjabi KAKHH OHLAE LAKHH:-  www.gnosticgospel.co.uk/pdbook.pdf Very informative Channel:- Punjab Siyan. Day 3: Who lives in your world? for the sake of simplicity i'm going to restrict my answer here to the people who live on auspice—if i start including the bird societies, too, it becomes a bit much to handle in a single post. :p
the first ones
the longest continuous inhabitants of auspice are the giants, also known as the First Ones, who occupy the frithian lowlands.  the giants evolved from the first humans on auspice, brought to the planet to serve as slaves for the numenites who visited the planet or oversaw its maintenance.  following the fall of the numeni empire, the slaves were left to their own devices, and quickly settled the lowlands surrounding the main numenite outpost on the planet.  (humans stationed at other posts around the world were fewer and further between, so most of them died in the several million years following the fall.) the soil of the lowlands is infertile, so these humans never experienced the agricultural revolution that kicked off civilization in our world. they spent their lives in patriarchal bands that foraged and hunted for their food, and over the millennia, their bodies began to change to suit their new lifestyles and environment.  their bodies grew remarkably—tall to see over the hills where predators and prey might lay and to better endure the great flash floods and mudslides that racked the valleys during heavy rain; wide and stocky to better withstand the unforgiving winters and constant exposure to the elements.  they experienced other curious changes as well: their bodies grew shaggy, coarse hair to keep them warm, and they re-gained the ability to digest cellulose (a power lost among modern humans but retained by our closest evolutionary relatives), enabling them to eat more of the limited plants available to them in their environment. perhaps surprisingly, giant society has not changed significantly in this time.  their bands are small, dynamic and constantly adjusting, and a given area of land can only support a small number of giants, thus precluding urbanization.  only in recent times have small settlements begun to arise on the northern coast of the lowlands, to facilitate limited trading with derrish merchants.  this is no knock on the culture and society of the first ones, however; their handiwork (in particular their wood/stone carving and jewelry production) is world-renowned, and they have erected mighty monuments as a testament to their strength.   though the derrish might scorn their ostensibly primitive ways, the giants have held their own against the warbirds and steel of the kingdom for thousands of years...
the sifa
the sifa were the first humans to colonize auspice from off-world by activating an ancient numeni portal.  arriving in the sagewood of frith, they quickly migrated upward, through the derrish mountains which they considered inhospitable and into the fertile plains of senia.  the region's bountiful soil left the sifa with little to want, but there was a single, if glaring, caveat: the region was subject to sudden and intensely violent sandstorms called "qahns" that decimated every living thing over which they swept.  obviously this made settling the region rather difficult for a time, and the sifa people were driven to the brink of extinction before—according to legend—a prophet named yonas spoke with a mountain drake (now considered sacred in the sifa religion) and learned that the qahn can be tamed if offered the blood of a freshly slaughtered sandfowl.  this revelation founded the yonian religion, which served as the cornerstone of sifa civilization for centuries and formed the basis of their nomadic lifestyle.  not all of the sifa wandered, of course—some settled to the south, in the fertile lands bordering derriland or in the peninsulas and islands to the southwest of the desert.  these sedentary sifa formed a variety of independent and ideologically diverse city states with a highly developed mercantile economy and a powerful navy.  sifa universities continue to serve as places of prestige for up-and-coming derrish nobles.
the mvzge
the mvzge people, or marshlanders, are the native people of the derrish mountains and surrounding regions.  they are a culturally diverse group closely related to the sifa who mostly exist in unaffiliated sustenance communities along the coasts and rivers.  nearby tribes might collate into loose federations called clans that trade their young for apprenticeships between tribes, engage in internal flower wars, or arrange inter-tribal marriages.  infighting among the mvzge is common but not particularly malicious or violent; tribes observe certain etiquette in combat that keep the fighting just and honorable in their eyes; that said, they dislike fighting with outsider cultures (such as the sifa and derrish) and prefer to live in relatively self-imposed isolation.  when the derrish people arrived, they forced the mvzge outside of the bounds of the derrish mountains, and the mvzge largely obliged without resistance in order to avoid dishonorable combat (not to mention the rather intimidating weapons of the derrish knights).  the mvzge practice limited agriculture but have a rich fishing culture, and are well-respected by sifa academics for their prowess with natural medicine.  their unique stance on gender and sexuality is well-known, if poorly understood.
the derrish
the derrish are the "empire" of auspice, so to speak.  relative newcomers to the world of auspice, they arrived on the world with an already solidly developed worldview.  not long at all after arriving on auspice, they settled in the derrish mountains (familiar to them due to the mountainousness of their homeland), ejected the native people forcibly, and assumed the local name for the mountains for their newly formed kingdom.  within a few hundred years they had castles erected on the derrish peaks and a relatively stable feudal pecking order established; they pushed their political boundaries further by engaging in skirmishes with the sifa and the giants, just to test their limits.   derrish supremacy is virtually unchallenged thus far in the land they've claimed, but trouble brews on the horizon as their self-proclaimed borders approach the sifa, and as the dwindling mvzge people grow increasingly desperate.  the derrish are well-known for their metallurgy and adept domestication of large birds, which they use as combat mounts, domestic companions, and beasts of burden.

Fic Preview
So y’all have been so nice & supportive. I really appreciated the encouraging words and everything. Soooooo below is a preview of the fic. The story keeps changing (it started off completely different lol) but this preview gets at the premise of the story. Enjoy!
“I am afraid to tell you that Lady Zarah is missing.”
There was a beat of silence before M’Baku let out a boisterous chuckle from the depths of his belly, his general’s statement was too absurd not to be a joke.
“Very funny N'Danna. She hasn’t left the Lodge all day. I just saw her a few hours ago actually. Before I got dragged away to deal with that damn fire. How does one set fire to Jabari wood anyway? It is practically indestructible - we will need to look into that. Correction - Za will need to look into it. Hanuman knows she is the only one in this tribe that actually understands Jabari wood, the rest of us are just kidding ourselves. The guards say it was an accident but I don’t believe it,” M’Baku rambled, starting to walk inside. If M’Baku had been paying attention, he would have noticed the growing distress on his General’s face as he trailed behind him. “But anyway, did she put you up to this? I know your sister is a practical jokester but she goes too far. I will get her back for this one no doubt,” M’Baku let out another hearty chuckle while shaking his head, not even considering the notion that his wife was anywhere but safe in their shared bed.
He continued down the hallway before he felt a tight grip on his arm pull him backward. M’Baku’s eyes bugged out of his head at N'Danna. He wondered if the man had drunk one too many glasses of mead, that was the only explanation for such reckless behavior.
“What the hell has gotten in-”
“M’BAKU! Shut the hell up and listen to me. This is not a joke. While you and the guards were across the lands, someone broke in and took her. We are trying to determine how they entered and escaped undetected. No one even realized anything had happened until I came to drop off the weekly reports. I found your chambers empty, her guards knocked out.” N'Danna had to pause to take a deep breath - to steady his tone and reel in his emotions. “This is not a game brother. This is not a joke. She is gone.”
They stood in silence for a few moments, staring at each other, as the news settled in the air. M’Baku backed up from N'Danna slightly, his body finding and leaning against a wall to support him. After a few minutes, M’Baku started to shake his head. She couldn’t be gone. She just couldn’t.
*****
So I came up with this idea while binge watching Game of Thrones so it is an angsty mess. I am always into the idea of M’Baku being overprotective. I mean who doesn’t love that?? And I wanted to explore the Jabari tribe more. So our favorite characters from the Golden City make some appearances but the drama centers around the inter-tribal issues of the Jabari.
Can M’Baku find her in time? And if he can, will they be able to overcome this threat to their marriage and tribe? If he can’t, how will he learn to survive without her?
Idk yet cause it isn’t done haha lol what do y’all think?? interested? Too dark? First fic so go easy on me 😊
