Hi I love your blog 💙💙💙 I was wondering if you know any fics where the hale family loves Stiles, preferably sterek but any pairing is fine.
I think so.
Tumblr media
If I Were 'A Were' by syriala
(1/1 I 2,642 I General I Sterek)
Stiles knew that he wasn’t the most subtle person to ever grace this earth. But compared to the Hale’s he was a fucking ninja. He couldn’t believe that no one had figured out yet that they were actually werewolves. Real, actual, honest to god werewolves.
That no one knew about.
Stiles really started to question this town’s intelligence.
But Stiles was determined to find out how many dog/wolf related puns he could make before someone caught on to the fact that he actually knew.
Home is where the heart is by Delilah2040
(5/5 I 10,781 I Teen I Sterek)
Stiles runs away after the death of his best friend and some how ends up being taken in by the Hale family who help him to find his place in the world again.
here in the heart (of my sanctuary) by crazyassmurdererwall (smartalli)
(1/1 I 13,467 I Teen I Sterek)
Talia accelerates through the tunnel, and Derek looks up, watches the light that makes it through the bramble dance and shift over the hood of the car as they drive, fingers gripping the sides of the tank. It’s beautiful, like a gateway to another world. He’s lived in the preserve his whole life, and he didn’t know this was here.
She eyes him. “You should know this man is very important to me. I take the responsibility of his care and counsel very seriously. Handing him over to you…it’s not a small thing. Please keep that in mind.”
No pressure, then.

The Face of Nathan Hale.
Nathan Hale, a distinguished American Patriot, soldier, and spy for the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, is immortalized in the face captured through a Photohop reconstruction of Frederick William MacMonnies' statue of Hale in City Hall Park, New York.
Born on June 6, 1755, Nathan Hale excelled academically and graduated with honors from Yale University in 1773. Soon after, in 1775, he joined a Connecticut militia unit and rapidly rose to the rank of first lieutenant within five months. He became a valued member of Knowlton's Rangers, a reconnaissance and espionage detachment established by General George Washington.
At the young age of just over twenty-one, Hale's courage and determination led him to volunteer for a perilous mission behind enemy lines before the Battle of Harlem Heights. Though lacking formal training in espionage, he succeeded in gathering vital information about British troop movements for a week.
Sadly, on September 21, 1776, during his return from a mission, Hale was captured and found in possession of an incriminating document written in Latin hidden in the sole of his shoe. Without a fair trial, General William Howe ordered his execution for spying, which was carried out the next morning, September 22, 1776. Hale spent his final night confined in the greenhouse of Howe's headquarters, and at dawn, he was led to the gallows, where he faced his death with remarkable courage, famously uttering, "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country."
Nathan Hale's legacy lives on as America's first spy and a symbol of unwavering patriotism. In recognition of his selfless sacrifice and devotion, he was officially declared Connecticut's state hero on October 1, 1985.
Contemporary accounts paint a picture of a remarkable individual. Beyond his intelligence and athletic prowess in wrestling, football, and broad jumping, Hale was described as kind, gentle, religious, and exceptionally good-looking. With fair skin, light blue eyes, and hair, he stood just under six feet tall, captivating both men and women alike. His presence and character earned him the admiration and affection of all who knew him, and it was said that all the girls in New Haven were enamored by him.

♚ Pairing: Sterek ♚ Characters: Stiles Stilinski, Derek Hale, Peter Hale, Nolan Holloway ♚ Tags: established relationship, 6b AU ♚ Words: 1014 ♚ Prompt: “If someone gets nosy, just, you know, shoot them." - "Shoot them?" - "Politely.” ♚ Mini Fic Roulette: 36/∞
⤚⁂↝♚↜⁂⤙
Nolan looks more than terrified, and judging by his track record, this is bound to blow up in his face. But they’ve made it this far, so Stiles hands him the crossbow again. Nolan knows exactly what’s going to happen in case he stabs him in the back now, so Stiles isn’t particularly worried about him. It’s the rest of his plan that might’ve been a bad decision. That, however, is a problem for future Stiles. Present Stiles finds himself with only a door separating him and Derek. One. If Nolan fucks this up, there will be hell to pay. “If someone gets nosy, just…” Stiles trails off for a moment, not sure what to say because Nolan won’t be able to talk himself out of anything — not when he perpetually looks like a deer in headlights. “You know… shoot them.” Stiles gives the crossbow a little pat.
Widening his eyes, Nolan stares back at him. “Shoot them?”
“Politely.” Giving him the thumbs up, Stiles pushes the door open and slips into the vast darkness behind it. They’re a bit on a time crunch, so there isn’t a time for a pep talk. Luckily, Stiles isn’t stopped by any locked doors. The hunters don’t think it’s necessary since they secured everything with mountain ash. They’re idiots, all of them, and it reeks of desperation on Gerard’s part to find recruits via fear mongering. If only they knew werewolves aren’t what they should be most afraid of. Then again, Stiles probably should be thankful. After all, this gave him a very easy in — after his dad finally informed him that shit hit the fan in Beacon Hills. The staggering number of hunters made it hard for the supernatural community, Stiles, however, had a very easy time to get in without rousing any suspicious.
As the door clicks shut behind him, Stiles can hear a faint growl in the seemingly endless darkness of the warehouse. “Keep growling at me, and I’ll leave your sorry ass here.” Stiles flicks the lights, raising his brows as he finds not only Derek but also Peter chained to an electric fence. “I cannot believe this,” he mutters more to himself than anyone in particular. How the hell did they manage to capture both Hales?
Stiles jogs towards them, still shaking his head in disbelief. There’s no doubt that Peter somehow dragged his nephew into some shenanigans that caused them to end up here. Judging by Derek’s glower, he’s even less thrilled about Stiles joining the fun. “You’re welcome,” he mutters, turning the electricity off.
“How did you get in here?” Derek asks as he’s breaking the chains holding him in place. When he takes a step, he looks a little unsteady on his feet.
“Gerard is overestimating the intelligence of his hunters.” Stiles shrugs, barely resisting the urge to rush forward and make sure Derek is okay. He’s not the biggest fan of being coddled in front of people, especially not Peter, and Stiles tries to respect that.
Peter looks quite put out by the fact that he’s not only been captured by a ragtag group of hunters, but also that he needed to be saved. “Don’t sell yourself short,” he says with his usual rather unpleasant and knowing smile. It’s like the guy has a sixth scene for Stiles doing something shady.
“Can you go grab Nolan, please?” Raising his brows at Peter, Stiles points over his shoulder. “Careful, though, he’s a bit nervous… and armed with a crossbow. Try not to startle him.” Although he’s pretty sure at this point, everything could startle the poor guy. He’s got no clue how he made it this far without a nervous breakdown.
Peter draws his brows together. “Aren’t we leaving?”
“Not through that door.” Stiles gestures for him to leave before finally crossing the distance between him and Derek, cupping his pale cheeks softly. “Are you okay?”
“Why yes, I am,” Peter calls over his shoulder, “thanks for asking.”
Ignoring not only his uncle’s comment but also Stiles’ question, Derek tilts his head just enough to press a kiss to the ball of his left hand. “You shouldn’t be here.”
Of course.
Stiles rolls his eyes and flicks Derek’s forehead. “I should’ve been here weeks ago.”
“It’s not safe—"
“Nowhere is safe,” Stiles interrupts him curtly. This isn’t a new argument, and it’s probably not the last time they’re having it. His dear boyfriend loves to bring it up. “Not for you, not for me… and this place is going to be especially unsafe in a few minutes.” He runs his finger along Derek’s left eyebrow, drawing his own together.
Sad brow moves into a deep frown. “What did you do?”
“I do not want to interrupt this heartfelt reunion,” Peter says, dragging Nolan after him by the fabric of his jacket, “but there’s a fire outside, and it’s closing in.”
Derek stares at Stiles.
“What?” Stiles shrugs, gesturing around. “Gerard wants his people to be afraid, so, I gave them something to be scared of.” After everything they have done, some of these hunters certainly deserve worse, however, Stiles is not quite the monster the nogitsune was trying to turn him into. But Derek keeps staring at him, and Stiles hates that it doesn’t take anything more for his guilty conscience to appear. As much as he loves Derek, Stiles really did not need yet another Jiminy Cricket in his life. “They’re going to be fine. I started the fire in an abandoned area. No one’s going to get hurt, Care Bear, who do you think I am?” It’s a loaded question, they both know that — and for the first time since they started dating, Stiles is scared of an answer.
Derek doesn’t reply, merely lets out a long breath and nods. His hand finds Stiles’ easily. He intertwines their fingers, squeezing tightly — believing him.
The guilt settles in Stiles’ stomach, making him nauseous. “Let’s go,” he says, glancing over his shoulder and catching Nolan’s eye. Hopefully the kid knows how to take a secret to the grave.

🔥+ Derek Hale
YES THANK YOU MY BLORBO MY SCRUNKLY MY BABYGIRL. LIGHT OF MY LIFE AND KINDLING TO MY SOUL. I LOVE HIM AND I HAVE SO MANY OPINIONS, HERE IS A LIST:
- idk how unpopular this truly is but that man is demisexual to his core. i understand how ppl see him as bi and that’s valid but in my heart of hearts he is demisexual and also fighting for his life every single day struggling to understand what people (read: erica and stiles) are talking about when they find strangers attractive. until he gets to know someone and cares for them the most he can muster up is “that sure is a face. on a body, even.”
- he was closer to peter than he was to talia or even laura, pre-fire
- he’s actually very emotionally intelligent and in touch with his feelings. you know. when he’s not literally in survival mode 24/7 and living in essentially a tent but worse and hasn’t been able to process an incredibly huge trauma bc of all the other traumas happening in real time. he just doesn’t know what the fuck to do with those emotions once he’s tapped into them.
- on that note, he’s actually very expressive. its just subtle and when he’s next to stiles “elastic face” stilinski it doesn’t come across as obviously
- he respects stiles and stiles’ abilities more than anyone else in the pack
- his fatal flaw is that he trusts too easily and sees the best in people, no matter how hard he tries not to and no matter how many times life has punished him for doing so
- derek is, at his very core, a decent and well-intentioned person. no matter how misguided he is, he is never truly malicious towards anyone but those who have wronged him and those he cares about over and over again. and even then the malice is more about stopping them from doing more damage than real vengeance. he’s just a little bit of an asshole at the same time as being a good person.
- he’s a switch but when it comes down to it he prefers subbing. he just doesn’t feel like he can sub for anyone bc it makes him so vulnerable and he thinks he looks weak, so he doesn’t actually discover this preference until he’s years into his relationship with stiles and they’re uncomfortably comfortable with each other and he’s done enough weird sexual shit for stiles (cough werewolf kink cough cough) he knows stiles won’t judge him for like. wanting to wear lace and be told he’s a good boy
- when he’s NOT in survival mode he’s actually really snobby about hygiene and neatness and personal care products. stiles uses a 3-in-1 shampoo/conditioner/body wash and derek is so offended by it they almost break up (but then stiles switches to something fancy and unscented and derek finds he kind of misses the weird artificial tree smell of the 3-in-1)
- autism be damned my boy can work a grill
- he’s actually really good with kids. not in a traditional sense bc he’s awkward with them mostly but most children under 12 seem to love him anyways

A general guide to the general's recommended reading list
George Washington's Indispensable Men by Arthur S. Lefkowitz
This book is one of my personal favorites, both for its contents and its prose. Centering on Washington's aide-de-camps, it sheds light on some of the most important yet forgotten men in the history of the American Revolution. It's a fantastic source for details on many key battles and peoples, and its extensive bibliography and notes section makes it a good book to use in order to find other sources.
George Washington's Secret Six by Brian Kilmeade and Don Yaeger, and Washington's Spies by Alexander Rose
These are for the Turn fans. Both these books detail the exploits of the little-known Culper Ring and detail the fascinating tale of early-war espionage and spying. At the time of the revolution, spying was traditionally done by a handfull of singly-operating, disconnected men whose reports would be compiled and checked against each other. With, among other things, the death of Nathan Hale, Washington was forced to reconsider this approach of intelligence gathering and institute history's first ring of interconnected spies. The Culper Ring's methods are still studied by the CIA in our modern day, making the study of the ring relevant to anyone with an interest in the war.
Valley Forge by Bob Drury and Tom Clavin
True to the title, this book focuses on the bleak winter spent at Valley Forge. While I take issue with some of the opinions expressed within the text (such as the authors being overtly homophobic about Alexander Hamilton and John Laurens' relationship), it is a good source for many things and includes a full chapter about the Baron von Steuben, whom without, the war wouldn't have seen its next year.
The Men Who Lost America by Andrew Jackson O'Shaughnessy
Rather uniquely, this book is centered on the British figureheads of the war! From King George himself to Lord Cornwallis to George Germain, this book goes in-depth on the military, naval, and political leaders of Britain during the war. This is the longest book on the list, be warned! It's a fantastic source for a British viewpoint, which I find sorely lacking in most books. Due to how dedicated O'Shaughnessy is to not leave any important general out, it's a great source on the Southern campaigns and calls to attention how critical they were to the overall war effort. Additionally, it goes into similar depth on the political climate of Britain, especially in its section on Lord North.

Back to my rewatching(was waiting for DVDs to show up bc I got tired of watching it in my phone)
Ah the classic forgot where I parked the car thing. We’ve all been there
Why was his first thought to run over the cars??? I mean ig it took less time and maybe he wanted the noise but it seems very unnecessary
Distractions i.e. Allison
Liar. and point proven literally ten seconds later. God I hate him he’s so annoying
Oh good more cringey teenage make outs 🤮 and it never ends wtf
Ha cockblocked
I refuse to believe she wouldn’t need Kate to spell Gevaudon(probably misspelled that which I think proves my point quite well)
Tyler posey is not a great actor
Seriously enough with the super dim lighting already 😭
Love the sitting in the dark waiting for Scott thing that Derek does
Liar. Why do people lie so much in this show??? Just be freaking honest with people. And if they aren’t lying they’re being vague and cryptic Oi with the poodles already
Scott has no right being annoyed at stiles for being upset with him
Stiles is me. I am stiles. We are one. Wanna use the silent treatment but someone has to tell my friends they’re dumbasses
I feel like she wouldn’t have been able to find a book on some random French fairytale that easily but maybe that’s just me
Eyyyyy Star Wars reference love it
This feels so like smth teenage boys would do so props to the writers for that. Ofc normal boys would tie up their friend and chuck lacrosse balls at them for fun with no ulterior motive but still
This is so gross why did they have to show him retching like that???
I’m used to being special and now I’m not is literally Jackson’s whole argument for why he’s an ass to Scott and like buddy grow up the world doesn’t revolve around you
Why is Allison not commenting on the fact that he kinda looks like he’s dying rn?
I love stiles rolling his eyes when Allison says maybe she can bring Scott’s grade up 😂 I’m with stiles on that
Coach is probably my favorite character
Ik stiles intelligence gets talked about quite a bit but imo it can always be talked about more
Ofc then he does smth dumb like scratch up so dudes truck and then makes the guy think it was Scott that did it and gets him beat up by like four grown men sooooooo still a teenage boy
I mean at least chem teacher stopped the beating up of Scott but I still hate him
I fucking love Derek’s car
How did he afford it tho??? And like where does he park it when he goes to his house bc it’s never there when he is
Don’t we find out deaton has known the hales for a long time? Why are he and Derek acting like they’ve never met before? Maybe I’m misremembering
Wow and moving right on to tying him up
I feel like they totally change what/who deaton is to the plot later on bc none of this makes sense with what I remember happening later on
Ahhhh love stiles jeep too
See I remember the going to the school and Scott howling through the PA system but I did not remember deaton being tied up in the back of Derek’s car
Scott’s first attempt at howling is horrifying and hilarious at the same time
And Derek’s “you’ve gotta be kidding me”
And then stiles “like a cat being choked to death Scott”
Sour wolf
Gross. I really didn’t need to see all the blood pouring from Derek’s mouth
Also is that what Peter looks like as the alpha always or does that change later bc he doesn’t look how I remember? My memory of this show isn’t great tho

I was curious about fandoms having superficial readings of characters intelligences. While I know you’ve written about how Scott’s is minimized, I was curious about the inverse. I often see overestimations of some characters intellect. Usually the ‘nerdy’ characters, but who have their obviously ignorances. It’s mostly the fault of the writers defaulting to the know-it-all, but sometimes those characters are textually wrong but fans refuse to accept that.
Tumblr media
Oh, I hate to break it to you, it's not superficial. This particular phenomenon dates all the way back to Plato: the idea of the Philosopher King. He argued that any society could only be just and free from evil once its rulers embrace wisdom and personal knowledge, and thus were able to rule from a position of understanding for the common good. They would use what they learned to move past selfish or destructive policies.
This idea permeates what is called 'Western Civilization' and influences various and wildly different applications ranging from the Divine Right of Kings to Anarcho-Syndicalism. Entropy, however, is universal, and what was once a thoughtful exploration of how to craft a better society has degraded to "the smartest guy should be in charge."
Unfortunately, the idea hasn't done well when it encounters racism, sexism, and classism. How many times has history witnessed white imperialists describing the non-white races they're intent on colonizing as 'ignorant' or 'superstitious' or 'driven by appetite and not reason.' How often were women excluded from political power because they were seen as overly emotional and thus not intellectually the equal of men? How often, even today, how often do you see billionaires automatically given the sheen of genius? That noise you hear is Plato spinning in his grave.
When you look at fandom behavior that way, it makes a lot of sense. All fiction revolves around conflict -- not necessarily physical conflict though it often is -- and most often the story progresses according to how those conflicts are resolved. In a stories with a lead protagonist, that responsibility is theirs. Fandom's praxis in that light becomes clear -- if they want the story focused on a particular character, then that character only has to be the smartest, and thus they should control how the conflict should be resolved.
And there is where the game begins. Fandom goes to great lengths to define the character they most value as the smartest and the character they see as an obstacle as the dumbest in order to argue for primacy.
Take Teen Wolf, my fandom. Scott McCall is the lead protagonist, and the show spends a great deal of time demonstrating why his way of resolving conflicts is to be valued. And yet, parts of the fandom will make any excuse to portray him as stupid, uneducated, and irrational. Then, they will choose another character -- usually a good-looking white male -- and trumpet their 'intelligence.' Stiles Stilinski is "always right!" even though he's not always right in any frame of reference. Derek Hale is superior because of his born wolf status gives unique insight into the nature of being a werewolf, regardless of his obvious and disastrous failures. Peter Hale is supposedly brilliant, except parts of fandom confuse immoral ruthlessness for actual solutions to problems.
Let's get specific and look at Season 5A, when Theo infiltrated the pack. Parts of the fandom make great hay out of the idea that Scott didn't immediately accept Stiles's intuition that Theo, the man who had just come to Scott's rescue, was sinister. Now, of course, they pretend not to have watched Scott did investigate the dangers of Theo not being who he said he was. They pretend not to have watched that no other character accepted Stiles's accusation at face value. Most of all, they pretend not to have watched Stiles get completely manipulated by Theo as well. Stiles's correct intuition must serve as proof that he deserves to be 'in charge', i.e. the lead protagonist, even though his intuition has microscopic evidence to back it and is a product of natural suspicion magnified by trauma-induced paranoia.
It's not just this show. Shadow and Bone's Darkling is another example of fandom trying to have another character usurp the lead protagonist because he's "smarter." This is the motivation behind many fandom arguments about who is the most intelligent, because of the idea that society should be focused on those people who can lead it most effectively. It's most often applied to white male characters, because there's a cultural tendency in the United States to see white men in that role, but it doesn't have to be.

A female-led action spy animated movie that's a complete reboot of the 2000s animated series Totally Spies! that this time has a distinct noir Bond-type aesthetic to it.
Tumblr media
PREMISE:
Set in the stunningly gorgeous and all-around sunny Malibu, Florida, at one of the most renowned colleges in the state, Malibu University or Mali-U for short, we follow highly intelligent and booksmart freshmen Samantha "Sam" Simpson looking to not only prove herself but also set her planned future in stone now that she's been accepted into one of the next big college universities after Harvard.
Unfortunately for her, things don't go according to plan when one night, a knock at her dormroom door is heard and Sam goes to answer only to find three young women her age dressed in slick catsuit outfits — a blonde with a coif bob in a red catsuit, a purple haired tanned girl in a dark purple catsuit and a dark blue haired girl in an azure catsuit — holding a giant sack..... that they immediately proceed to bag her in.
She's taken to a large penthouse, put in a green catsuit and shoved down a long chute that she barely fits in with her being a bulge and the bolts coming out where once landing back-first on a roulette, she meets her captor, Mandy Hale, an obnoxious, snobbish, egocentric, cruel, arrogant, materialistic and downright maleficent queen bee in a light purple catsuit. Her lair is a bizarre but eye-catching mixture of a cheap funhouse, expensive gambling casino and personal mansion filled with all things Mandy and Mandy only.
It's here that all is revealed and explained — Mandy, having grown bored of being essentially a valley girl stereotype, is now planning on unleashing a specialized perfume-type of gas onto the entire Malibu Swimsuit Competition that is now being hosted at Mali-U this year and it's then shown that this "gas" is indeed a twisted fear toxin that causes whoever to inhale it to hallucinate horrifying yet beauty-related visions and cut up, mutilate and scar their faces since in Mandy's own words and twisted point of view — "Not only will I be the prettiest girl in all of Malibu University, I'll be the only beautiful woman on campus period!".
Where does Sam come into this — Mandy simply wants to have an audience of sorts to witness what she's done in order to satisfy her ego even if it's just one person.
Now Sam has to use all of her wits, cleverness and skills to make it out of this scenario not only alive but successful in stopping Mandy's more than awful and diabolical plan and yet again things take another unexpected twist and turn when Mandy's very own plot is hijacked by someone close to her and having a complete change of heart, she teams up with Sam along with her three hired-helps, Clover, Tara and Britney, to put an end to what she started in the first place.

NOTES/TRIVIA/DETAILS:
• The voice actresses Jennifer Hale, Andrea Baker, Katie Griffin and Stephanie Broschart will all reprise their roles as Sam, Mandy, Clover, Tara and Britney.
• Why is Clover not in this — she was gonna be. She was gonna be in Tara's place but I wanted to give this reboot a new and interesting spin that can standalone from the original and I decided to include Tara in it. However, I found myself in quite an interesting pickle because having Clover, Alex, TARA and Britney all be in it would overstuff it. I tried to make it work but there was only room for just one and I decided it would be Tara since this is a FAR larger role than what she had in the original series. But will Alex appear later on in a sequel? Absolutely.
• The tone of this movie will certainly be interesting because while it still will have the same witty and definite anime-esque sense of humor as it wouldn't be Totally Spies! at all without it, it won't be quite as overbearing and full-forced as the original since that's a major criticism the show still gets. Instead it will balance the light-hearted fun and wit with genuinely dark moments, high stakes that are treated seriously and better yet, an entirely new slick James Bond type of aesthetic.
• As for the animation, it will be done in the same style as the fifth season of the show while at the same time having an updated cinematic look and feel to it especially since I want this to get big in scale.
• As for who's the true villain who hijacks and takes over Mandy's plan, the answer is Geraldine Husk eith Kathleen Lasky back in the role with her being more menacing in this than she was in the original series.

Rusted Knight Quest
testing something new here, general idea is that I will write a story and then allow you all to select options you like to put into a plan format under the story in reblogs. be sure to tag me in the plans so I can record them. then I will put up a vote for a day, whichever plan gets the most votes
the world was shapeless, formless, you floated in the void. it was peaceful, there wasn't battle here, there wasn't struggle, there was nothing and you never had to be anything ever again.
it was a deep and primordial darkness, and then there was light, and noise and it hurt.
IT HURT!
so you cried, wanting to go back to not being anything but you couldn't, you were stuck now. your body was weak, a soft squishy thing that wouldn't respond to any of your comands, you were basically blind as your eyes would not focus and your mind
oh by the gods your mind
it was so slow, as if your nerons were out on their lunch break you were incapable of even the most basic of thoughts
your soul was wiped clean as well, this isn't too strange the tree had given you new purpose before but what purpose could this horrible thing you were trapped in have?
then there was a not bad noise, it soothed you and you soon fell asleep listening to it croon and whisper to you. when you woke you found you had an option you had never experianced before.
you had choice just what in the ever after were you? stats there are five stats diplomacy, stewardship, martial, learning, and piety diplomacy involves talking whether it be smooth-talking, intimidation or anything else. stewardship: is about logistics and money and how well you know how to handle either martial: is about fighting and strategy both the mental and physical aspects learning: how smart you are piety: aura usage and strength character points: every trait offers points or requires them please reblog this post with your selections in the actual text area not in the notes or comments, comments should be used to discuss the quest with the others and select what options you like. please name your plan be sure to @ me with your plans as well CP: 4 giant: you tower above others this means that your heart has to work overtime. ap cost 1 +6 to martial rolls - 5 to diplomatic rolls due to looking strange. health might sometimes suffer unless aura is unlocked stuttering: you have a stutter +3CP -5 to Diplomatic rolls lisping: you have trouble pronouncing some words +3 CP -5 diplomacy albino: with their white hair and eyes you tend to freak people out +6 CP - 10 diplomacy melancholic: you have a hard time seeing the good in life -1 to all stats -1 action points when making choices in the future +10CP lunatic: Plagued by hallucinations, delusions and disorganized thoughts, you struggle to distinguish between what is real and what is not. -5 to all stats +10 CP possessed: The sudden changes in emotion, awareness and ability that this character experiences can only be explained by spirits inhabiting their body. +10 to all training rolls - 10 to diplomacy hideous: -10 diplomacy +3CP ugly: -7 diplomacy +2CP homely: -5 diplomacy +1 CP comley: +5 diplomacy -1 CP handsome: +7 diplomacy -2 CP beautiful: +10 diplomacy - 3CP imbecile: -8 all stats -30 on training rolls +10 CP stupid: -4 all stats -20 on training rolls +7 CP dull: -2 all stats -10 training rolls +5 CP quick: +2 all stats +10 training rolls -5 CP intelligent: +3 all stats +20 training rolls -7 CP genius: +5 all stats +30 on all training rolls -10 CP

“What the hell kind of a name is Stiles?” he asked.
“You know, a series of sounds spoken in a particular sequence that represent my identity, primarily, referring to me?“ the AI – Stiles – answered cheekily, crossing his own arms in front of his chest, mirroring Derek’s position.
“Ooh, this one’s feisty,” Peter smirked.

seven sentence sunday
I was tagged by the wonderful EJ @ravens-words  - I always appreciate you thinking of me.
I am writing again. I’m writing a LOT. I wrote 60,000 words last month, but I’m not writing RNM currently. I’m having a block there, I think it’s because the stories I was working on then, are tied to my dad being sick. Anyway I’m still working through it and I hope with more time, I can at least finish the Ringmaker epic and my sequel to LYW.
I am still into Top Gun. Currently, I have “survival is insufficient” which is a Last of Us/Top Gun fusion set just after Outbreak Day in 2003. It’s 55,000 words, IceMav. Currently pre-slash, lots of action, lots of pining, lots of “wow, the Iraq War was pretty fucked up, imagine if Zombies halted that 8 months in lol but then you see the US military carry out the same draconian behavior stateside as FEDRA”,
I just started “Working on Nathan Hale’s Eulogy” which is a pre-TGM, canon adjacent story, assuming established IceMav, how does Ice tell Mav he’s dying? It’s pretty heavy, drawing on alot of my own personal experience. It’s 9K now, hopefully finishes at 15K.
first off : survival is insufficient:
There was a disconcerting line of orange and pink undergrowth, trailing from the defunct ice cooler and leading toward the line of tractor-trailers. Tom nudged the vine with his toe, perplexed at why it was growing in the middle of the desert. He risked a glance toward the parked trucks, and jumped when a shadow moved behind the windshield of one of the trucks. He looked closer, and nearly every parked truck had … something, now scrabbling at the windows.
“Organic tripwire,” Mav observed dryly next to him, while Tom struggled to take in what it meant for the fungal infection. It wasn’t just isolated to just taking over a body, it had spread out, sinking into concrete and other mediums while it waited for another host. “Looks like some of the truckers were sick when they stopped for the night.”
“Doesn’t look like enough intelligence in their brains survived infection for them to understand how to operate the door locks, they’re all trapped in there.”
“No kidding, they’re not going anywhere. Truckers keep those cabs locked up like Fort Knox when they’re stopped. No one wants to get hijacked.”
“Lucky us,” Tom murmured before turning back to the closed market door. “There could be more of them in there.”
Mav shouldered his rifle with a sure grip, and nodded to him to pull the door open. “Well, we’ve come a long way since Lancaster. I’m ready this time.”
The door swung open, easily.
They both waited for something to jump out from the store aisles, but nothing happened. The overhead fluorescent lights flickered briefly before staying on, bright and welcoming. It was the result of a long, sustained campaign by corporate interests to minimize maintenance on chain operations; the lights stayed on automatically, along with the drink coolers, only the human behind the counter had to be replaced after a shift. With a glance toward the doomed truckers in the lot, Tom stepped inside with Mav to investigate the store.
The shelves were empty of certain staples, beer, cigarettes, and easy to grab snacks. It had been clearly ransacked as the area descended into chaos, but not by any true survivalist looking to make a stand. The mini mart staples of motor oil, canned goods, and batteries were largely untouched. He exchanged a meaningful look with Mav, and he nodded in agreement with him; once they were fueled up, they would be back for the food and whatever else would fit in the Yukon.
Mav moved toward the cashier register, and then inhaled sharply when he moved around the counter. “Got a body here, not infected… just looks like someone just shot him.”
“Infected don’t carry guns.”
“Well, the military would have been more efficient and dragged his body out. I think we’re looking at a run-of-the-mill human monster.” He whispered an apology under his breath, as he nudged the poor dead clerk out of the way, and then opened the panel that controlled the gas pumps. It was a matter of a few, chilling minutes of waiting, as Tom watched the door and the back hallways toward the bathroom for any signs of company, and then Mav flashed a thumbs up. “Okay, I told the pump we put a $100 in, the maximum, it should be enough to fill the Yukon and a few of our cans.”
“Great, let’s get going before the welcome wagon from that crash site arrives.” Tom stayed on high alert as he filled the Yukon, the noises from the parked trucks kept growing louder as more and more trapped infected were alerted to their presence.
and now from: “Working on Nathan Hale’s Eulogy”:
“Now I need another shower,” Pete joked in response, a smile evident in his voice.
Tom slowly collapsed down on top of him, taking care not to knee him, giving a grunt of acknowledgement as he worked to catch his breath again. His lungs were screaming for oxygen, complaining a little louder than what he thought was normal. Yet another small betrayal. He rolled over onto his back, and stretched his ribcage upward to take a deeper breath, with his eyes closed.
The bed shifted next to him, Pete moved toward the nightstand for a wet wipe. Tom flinched at the cold touch, before sighing in pleasure as Pete began to clean them up thoroughly with slow, loving swipes. Pete made a considering sound in his throat as he tracked upward, cleaning off their chests. “You haven’t been skipping lunch, have you, Ice? And dinner? You look like you’ve lost a little weight.”
“Just getting ready for the beach season,” Tom joked, even though a small wave of alarm swept through him.
Pete slapped him with the end of the wet wipe, “Asshole. I’m serious, you better be taking care of yourself while I’m in the desert.”
“I promise, I’m not skipping any meals.” He left it unsaid that he wasn’t finishing his meals either.
“I’ll make you a big omelet in the morning,” Pete promised, his voice warm and drowsy with love. “Will fix you right up.”
If only that were true.

COSTUMING META - PART II [SUITS (REDUX)]
OPERA ATTIRE
Tumblr media
Until the late 1880s, opera was traditionally a white tie event, with the black tie dress code only starting to gain popularity enough to replace it in the late 19th century and into the 20th. This was largely due to the innovation and popularization of the tuxedo as formal menswear by wealthy socialites, which helped it gain a positive reputation as a sleek and stylish fashion choice for evening events such as formal dinners, weddings, balls, and theatre showings.
The tuxedo steadily climbed in popularity, reaching a new peak in the 1920s Jazz Era. In accordance with the black tie dress code required for opening night performances at an opera house in our modern world as well as in Westworld's universe (which in Maeve and Caleb's timeline would've been somewhere around the year 2065), Caleb wears a classic black tuxedo in 4.02 - Well Enough Alone. I am still convinced Maeve picked for him just based on this: "Did it really have to be a tux?" "Now far be it from me to limit your sartorial choices." line as well as knowing that Dolores did pick an outfit for him last season.
1920S PARK SUIT
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In episode 4.03 - Annees Folles we enter Hale's 1920s downtown Chicago mobster-inspired park. Caleb is clad in a timeless three-piece suit, an overall accurate portrayal of the men's fashion popular during this era. His suit components include a white button-down shirt with dark blue pinstriping, button suspenders worn over the shirt/under a waistcoat, suit jacket and matching trousers, black leather oxford shoes, and a gold watch chain which is presumably attached to a pocket watch sitting in the right side pocket of his waistcoat.
When I went researching pocket watches, I stumbled across a guide on how to wear one properly and it mentioned that pocket watches are supposed to be worn on the side of your non-dominant hand, so that your dominant hand always remains free for other uses. Caleb wears his watch chain to the right, but as far as I could tell his right hand seems to be his dominant hand so this might be something the costume department wasn't aware of. Or maybe Caleb just in-character doesn't know watch etiquette because he's never had a need to.
Most three-piece suits in the early 1920s were double-breasted, but single-breasted options were available and would increase in popularity over years to come. Suits were commonly made out of fabrics such as wool, flannel, linen, tweed, or blended fabrics. The one Caleb wears looks to be made of wool, and the shirt most likely would be cotton, linen, or a blend.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In episode 4.04 Generation Loss, the jacket is removed from Caleb's suit, leaving the waistcoat and shirt sleeves visible. After Caleb is attacked by a guest under Hale's control, he removes the waistcoat (and tie) and holds it under his arm, using it to hold pressure on his stab wound and try to stop the bleeding. I'd never really noticed this before and I thought it was a neat little detail when I caught it.
The suit from what I could gather is often mistaken as being a black suit due to lighting and color filter struggles, but it is actually dark blue. Once again, the color blue is often representative of a virtuous character, symbolizing ideals of freedom, loyalty, compassion, honesty, intelligence, confidence, and reliability.

Anthony was born into a very traditional, wealthy pack of wolves that lived in Royal City. He was born the oldest pup of twins, his younger brother always a step behind him, but Anthony never cared about that as he only loved his little twin brother. They were inseparable, Anthony pulling his brother around for mischievous adventures. They were known, their differences clear as day. Anthony was the bold, adventurous one while Vincent was the shy, gentle little pup.
At the age of 15, both twins fell in love with the same boy, a boy, which brought them both into the boy's pack line of sight. With their reputation at stake, the leaders of both groups came together after two were found fooling around together. The pack had known of Vincent’s infatuation for a while, so when it was said a wolf fled the boy’s bedroom - the blame instantly fell on Vincent. Anthony knew it had been him but, despite wanting to defend his twin brother, his sister kept him quiet and by her side. Unable to defend Vincent, he took the fall. His older sister, the one leading the pack didn’t question it, they all knew Vincent was worth less than his brother. The decision made was final: Exile.
Being too young to venture outside the protection of the royal city alone, he was forced to stay within the walls of the city with his sister's pack for years. The greed and corruption of the crown affected him as much as they affected the pack. His pack wasn't exactly rich, so sometimes they went through hunger because of the high taxes implemented in the city. He presented as alpha during these times of hunger and need. Once he was 18 years old and had the means to travel outside the city, he did and left the pack for good to go find his twin brother. It wasn't an easy journey as he had to search and guess where his brother had been sent.
Arriving at Willowshire proved to be harder than he imagined and being reunited with his twin had been worth all the effort too. Once there, he dedicated himself to being useful and learning everything there was to be learned about the village.
Suddenly, he was in another place altogether. A city with, lights? What were those? Things were so different and so unreal he could barely believe it. Guards, or police as they called themselves, guided him to meet with other people who gave him a home and explained the different jobs he could choose from. After being explained for a while, he went with an accountant and received some training in his chosen job, he was adapting fast. His brother had also come with him, so he was happy wherever they were because he had his brother.
