Some insurance adjusters are okay...and some are horrible. This video tells you how to know the difference and what to do when your insurance adjuster is a jerk, but you still want a good outcome on your case...
Neutrality and Positivity: When dealing with a difficult insurance adjuster, remain neutral or positive. Avoid escalating the situation by responding to negativity with kindness, which often leads to better treatment from the adjuster.
Providing Documentation: Comply with the adjuster’s requests for necessary documentation, even if it feels like a hassle. Ensure the documentation pertains to the claim, such as medical bills or repair estimates, but consult a lawyer for advice on sensitive information.

A lot of people think getting paid while you are off work from a work-related injury is automatic. But when they get injured, they sure find out fast...not always. Check out this video to find out how to make sure you get them.
Common Misconception About Workers Comp: Many people mistakenly believe that if the law entitles them to workers' compensation benefits, the insurance company will automatically pay without any issues. This often leads to delays in seeking legal advice.
Reality of Workers Comp Claims: Workers' compensation insurance companies control the claims process, not the employer. These companies are incentivized to minimize payouts and deny claims, which can complicate the situation for injured workers.
Role of Insurance Adjusters: Insurance adjusters aim to reduce costs and deny as many claims as possible to receive bonuses and promotions. They do not have a personal connection to the injured worker, further complicating the claims process.
Importance of Consulting a Lawyer: Injured workers must consult a lawyer early in the process to understand their case's strengths and weaknesses. Waiting too long can result in missed opportunities to protect their rights.

Steps to Take Immediately After a Car Accident
Tumblr media
A car accident can be a traumatic and stressful experience, leaving you feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. Knowing the steps to take immediately after a car accident is crucial for ensuring your safety, protecting your legal rights, and facilitating the insurance claims process. This comprehensive guide will walk you through each step, providing clear, actionable advice to help you navigate the aftermath of a car accident effectively.
1. Ensure Safety and Assess Injuries
Prioritize Safety The first and most important step after a car accident is to ensure your safety and the safety of others involved. If possible, move your vehicle to a safe location, such as the side of the road or a parking lot, to prevent further collisions. Turn on your hazard lights to alert other drivers to the accident. Check for Injuries Assess yourself and your passengers for any injuries. If anyone is injured, call emergency services immediately. Even if injuries seem minor, it's crucial to get medical attention as some injuries may not be immediately apparent.
2. Call Emergency Services
When to Call 911 In most cases, you should call 911 to report the accident, especially if there are injuries, significant property damage, or if the accident is blocking traffic. The dispatcher will send police, fire, and medical personnel to the scene as needed. Cooperate with First Responders When emergency services arrive, cooperate fully with them. Provide accurate information about the accident and any injuries. Follow their instructions and allow medical personnel to assess and treat any injuries.
3. Exchange Information
Information to Collect It's essential to exchange information with the other driver(s) involved in the accident. This includes: - Name and contact information - Driver’s license number - Vehicle registration information - Insurance company and policy number Additional Information If there are any witnesses to the accident, collect their names and contact information as well. Witnesses can provide valuable testimony if there are disputes about what happened.
4. Document the Scene
Take Photos and Videos Use your smartphone or a camera to take photos and videos of the accident scene. Be sure to capture: - Damage to all vehicles involved - License plates - Skid marks or debris on the road - Traffic signs and signals - Weather and road conditions Take Detailed Notes Write down detailed notes about the accident while the details are still fresh in your memory. Include information about the location, time, and any factors that may have contributed to the accident, such as weather conditions or road hazards.
5. Notify Your Insurance Company
Report the Accident Contact your insurance company as soon as possible to report the accident. Provide them with all the necessary information, including the details you collected at the scene. Cooperate with the Insurance Adjuster An insurance adjuster may contact you to investigate the accident. Cooperate fully with their investigation and provide any additional information they request. However, avoid admitting fault or making any statements that could be used against you later.
6. Seek Medical Attention
Importance of Medical Evaluation Even if you feel fine after the accident, it's important to seek medical attention. Some injuries, such as whiplash or internal injuries, may not show symptoms immediately but can become serious if left untreated. Follow-Up Care Follow your doctor's recommendations for follow-up care and treatment. Keep all medical records and receipts, as they will be important for your insurance claim and any potential legal proceedings.
7. File a Police Report
Importance of a Police Report In many jurisdictions, filing a police report is required for accidents involving injuries or significant property damage. A police report provides an official record of the accident, which can be important for insurance claims and legal proceedings. How to File a Report If the police did not come to the scene, you may need to file a report yourself. Contact your local police department or visit their website for instructions on how to file a report.
8. Understand Your Legal Rights
Consult an Attorney If you were injured in the accident or if there are disputes about fault, it may be beneficial to consult with a personal injury attorney. An attorney can help you understand your legal rights, navigate the insurance claims process, and represent you in any legal proceedings. Statute of Limitations Be aware of the statute of limitations for filing a personal injury claim in your state. This is the time limit within which you must file a lawsuit if you decide to pursue legal action. Failing to file within this period can result in losing your right to seek compensation.
9. Document All Expenses
Keep Records Keep detailed records of all expenses related to the accident, including medical bills, repair costs, and any other out-of-pocket expenses. These records will be important for your insurance claim and any legal proceedings. Track Lost Wages If you are unable to work due to your injuries, keep records of your lost wages. You may be entitled to compensation for lost income as part of your insurance claim or personal injury lawsuit.
10. Communicate Effectively with Your Insurance Company
Be Honest and Accurate When communicating with your insurance company, be honest and accurate in your statements. Provide all requested information promptly and cooperate fully with their investigation. Avoid Admitting Fault Avoid making statements that could be interpreted as admitting fault for the accident. Fault determination is a complex process that should be left to the insurance companies and, if necessary, the courts.
11. Consider Vehicle Repairs
Get Multiple Estimates If your vehicle was damaged in the accident, get multiple repair estimates from reputable auto repair shops. This will help ensure you receive a fair settlement from your insurance company for the cost of repairs. Understand Your Coverage Review your insurance policy to understand what is covered and what your deductible is. This will help you make informed decisions about repairs and whether to file a claim.
12. Follow Up on Your Claim
Stay Informed Keep in touch with your insurance company to stay informed about the status of your claim. Ask for updates regularly and provide any additional information they request promptly. Dispute Resolution If you disagree with the insurance company's assessment of your claim, you have the right to dispute it. This may involve providing additional evidence, negotiating with the insurance adjuster, or, in some cases, seeking legal assistance.
Conclusion
Knowing the steps to take immediately after a car accident is essential for ensuring your safety, protecting your legal rights, and facilitating the insurance claims process. By following this comprehensive guide, you can navigate the aftermath of a car accident more effectively, minimizing stress and maximizing your chances of a favorable outcome. Fly Safe: The Importance of Licensed Drone Operators from ProPics Canada Media Ltd on Vimeo.
How to Sell Your Home and Lose Every Penny From the Sale, Your Savings and Still Owe For Years Into the Future. Canada has laws and regulations surrounding the use of drones. Breaching such restrictions places you at risk of fines up to $25,000. and/or Jail and if someone is injured you are liable. If you are having realty photos done by an unlicensed drone photographer or videographer, realtor etc., you are liable for any accident involving the drone and can even be sued for breaching the rights of others with images and videos including surrounding properties. Your insurance will not cover you as you are involved in an illegal activity by using an unlicensed drone operator and breaching Canadian laws and regulations.
NO MATTER THE SIZE OR WEIGHT of a drone when used for personal or financial benefit directly or indirectly, you must be licensed. The use of a drone, for example, capturing images and videos of a real estate listing, even if the operator is not directly being paid for the captured content, is still a commercial drone use as there is a benefit through the sale of the property and the content being used to aid that commercial activity. People taking images or videos to post on their personal social media and streaming sites is allowed but if those channels are monetized, you are now breaking the law and are subject to the above.
Also, a point of notation is that there are automatic NO FLY ZONES in place during natural disasters, wildfires and other circumstances which should always be respected. NEVER FLY A DRONE IN AN ACTIVE EMERGENCY RESPONSE AREA. not only are you risking fines, jail and financial liability, but you are also placing lives and property at risk.

As the saying goes - measure twice, cut once. In this case, we measured twice (using two different moisture meter tools) before removing this floating subfloor after a basement flood.
Dimple subfloor membranes are designed to provide airflow between your basement slab and plywood subfloor and create a thermal break between finished floor materials and a cold, damp concrete slab. However, if these moisture protection products become flooded, they can trap water under your subfloor, ultimately leading to wood rot, mould and odor problems in the future.
Time matters when you have a water damage emergency. Would you know what to do in a disaster or emergency situation? We can help.
If you require emergency water damage restoration and repair services, get the help you need and the peace of mind you deserve. SELECT Restoration Services is the water damage restoration company in Toronto you can call for 24-hour emergency flood cleanup and restoration services. 🤣🤣🤣 Time to check in. All jokes aside, the first offer from an insurance adjuster is the worst offer. Even if you don't want to hire a lawyer, we still recommend consulting with one to ensure that you're not getting low-balled after a serious accident or injury. Insurance companies are always out to pay you the least amount possible. They say they're on "your side" but really aren't. We always recommend reaching out to a personal injury lawyer because if you don't win you don't pay us. You shouldn't have to focus on financial hardships right after an accident. That's what we are here for. All you need to focus on is healing both physically and mentally.

Insurance companies may hire licensed private investigators to follow and videotape individuals with injury claims to verify their complaints of pain and incapacity. Surveillance typically involves following the individual in public places and sometimes filming through windows if the drapes are open. Investigators may follow a person for several weeks, take a break, and then resume surveillance to catch any inconsistent behavior.
