Why do medical equipment batteries use lithium batteries?
Lithium battery is a kind of battery that uses lithium metal or lithium alloy as negative electrode material and uses non-aqueous electrolyte solution. Lithium batteries can be roughly divided into two categories: lithium metal batteries and lithium ion batteries. Lithium-ion batteries do not contain lithium in the metallic state and are rechargeable. Due to the very active chemical properties of lithium metal, the processing, storage and use of lithium metal have very high environmental requirements. Therefore, lithium batteries have not been used for a long time. Lithium batteries have now become mainstream.
Tumblr media
Performance characteristics of lithium batteries:
Long service life, the service life can reach more than 6 years, the battery with lithium iron phosphate as the positive electrode is charged and discharged with 1CDOD, and there is a record of 10,000 times of use;
The specific energy is relatively high. It has high storage density, which has reached 460-600Wh/kg, which is about 6-7 times that of lead-acid batteries;
With high power tolerance, the lithium iron phosphate lithium ion battery for electric vehicles can reach 15-30C charge and discharge capacity, which is convenient for high-intensity startup acceleration;
The rated voltage is high (the single working voltage is 3.7V or 3.2V), which is approximately equal to the series voltage of 3 nickel-cadmium or nickel-hydrogen rechargeable batteries, which is convenient to form a battery power pack;
Light weight, the weight is about 1/5-6 of lead-acid products under the same volume;
The production basically does not consume water, which is very beneficial to my country, which is short of water.
High and low temperature adaptability, can be used in the environment of -20℃--60℃, and can be used in the environment of -45℃ after technical treatment;
Lithium batteries have excellent performance, long life, and safe use, with an energy density of up to 7,000 kilowatts per kilogram (W). And compared with other batteries, its use cost is lower. However, the high temperature of medical equipment and the environment, and the harsh use conditions put forward more stringent requirements on the performance of lithium batteries, which requires the lithium batteries of medical equipment to be further improved in terms of safety and durability, strong capacity release capability, and long service life. So now medical equipment uses lithium batteries.

okay so i've been listening to lamentations a LOT and i just cannot stop thinking about this? like idk if anyone's pointed this out before but i just wanna talk about this rn...
anyway! i've seen a few people talking about how in RBB and EWN the lyrics describe a lot of human actions and feelings while lamentations is mostly describing mechanical actions (until the end at least), and i might be overthinking stuff here, but it sounds to me like the instrumentals kinda reflect that as well? like both RBB and EWN have choirs in their instrumentals (literal human sounds) as well as actual instruments. lamentations meanwhile is mostly synth as far as i can tell, and has a very like, mechanical/industrial sound kinda? except for the bit where it's tamari and mariyam singing and the instuments are just music box, and also at the very end of the song where it's also music box but also more intense synth.
maybe most people have already noticed this though, or i'm just seeing patterns where there aren't any, but i think i'm onto something! anyway that's my crazy fandom rant of the month, would love to hear others thought on it :)

Just turned on my TI-84 after a few weeks of not using it bc it was winter break. And apparently 🙃 even though I turned it off and put the case on so no buttons would be accidentally pressed in my laptop bag 🙃 it somehow turned itself on and ran the battery dead anyway 🙃 and apparently 🙃 if the battery on a TI-84 ever fully dies it just stops fucking working entirely 🙃 because the second you plug it in to charge it instantly tries to update the OS 🙃 but it can't update bc there's not enough power so it just kills the battery and shuts itself off again 🙃 only to turn back on once it realizes it's still plugged in and instantly try to update again 🙃 but it still doesn't have enough power to update bc it won't let itself charge long enough to get enough power 🙃 so it just gets caught in an infinite loop of flashing a "validating OS" screen, dying, flashing the screen again and dying 🙃 and the only way to fix it is to just buy an entire new goddamn battery 🙃
So basically my calculator fucking bricked itself just bc it died 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃 who designs a fucking calculator to have a battery that stops working permanently if it dies even once??

What is an ultrasonic flaw detection instrument? How to choose a battery?
Ultrasonic flaw detector is a portable industrial non-destructive flaw detection instrument, which can quickly, conveniently, non-destructively and accurately detect, locate, evaluate and diagnose various defects (cracks, looseness, pores, inclusions, etc.) inside the workpiece. It can be used in both laboratory and engineering site. Widely used in boilers, pressure vessels, aerospace, aviation, electric power, petroleum, chemical, offshore oil, pipelines, military industry, shipbuilding, automobiles, machinery manufacturing, metallurgy, metal processing, steel structures, railway transportation, nuclear power, universities, etc. industry.
Tumblr media
The lithium battery of the ultrasonic flaw detector is a 14.8V lithium battery pack made of a single 18650 cell that is packaged in green plastic after being combined in 4 strings and 2 parallels.

TRENDS IN INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL IN THE OIL, GAS AND MINING INDUSTRY
Overall trends in instrumentation and control in the oil, gas and mining industry, suggest that instrumentation and control will become increasingly connected, data-driven, and automated in the future, enabling more efficient and optimised production while ensuring safety and sustainability.
 Digitalisation will enable predictive maintenance, remote monitoring, and automation, leading to increased efficiency and cost savings.
 Asset Integrity Management (AIM) maintains the integrity of critical assets such as pipelines, tanks, and processing equipment.  AIM can be achieved through real-time monitoring, inspection, and predictive maintenance, reducing the risk of equipment failure and downtime.
 Autonomous operations (AO) using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), have gained popularity where remote and hazardous locations require minimal human intervention.
 Cybersecurity is becoming a crucial concern. Instrumentation and control systems must be secured against cyber threats to prevent potential damage or disruption to critical operations.
 The drive towards sustainability and energy efficiency has led to development low energy two wire sensors, control algorithms, and automation systems are to reduce energy consumption.
To keep up with above technological advancements, PMV recommends you upgrade your skills as an instrument technician to:
 Operate and maintain modern instrumentation equipment effectively and enhance job performance and your chances of promotion or advancement within the company.
 Understand and implement safety protocols and procedures, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
 Improve your troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, thus enabling you to fix any issues, reducing downtime and increasing productivity.
 Develop a strong skillset for you can pursue higher-level positions or subject matter expert (SME) instrumentation and control, such as process control or automation technician or engineer.

Note: Since my old masterlist is getting notes again (and I'm hosting @tbb-appreciation-week this year), I thought it's a good time to release a new version with a lot more resources. If any of you know another site or thing that it's missing from the list, let me know and I'll include it!! [Altho, I'm getting this close 🤏 to the hyperlinks limit on this thing 😆]
Note 2: To avoid tagging the 3 people from whom I got multiple resources repeatedly, I've placed 1-3 asterisks between square brackets after the links, depending on the OP. I give the respective credit to them in a legend at the end of the post.

WRITING IN GENERAL (For those who don't want to die like Stormtroopers)
SlickWrite: Completely free; online. Checks grammar, punctuation, flow, and writing style according to different settings (including fiction writing).
ProWritingAid: [RECOMMENDED] One of the most thorough online proofreader I've ever used. Although when using a free account gives extremely thorough feedback, with +20 different in-depth reports, for only the first 500 words. However, you can earn a premium account license (for a year or for life) if you get 10 or 20 new users signing up for free; (if you wouldn't mind doing so using the link above and help me earn mine, please). The settings allow you to check your writing according to your needs, from general to formal to creative. It has a bonus that you can check depending on the genre you're writing. For example, in creative, you can choose romance or sci-fiction (there are 14 sub-genre in total). And just like google docs, you can share a document, and people can view, comment or edit it too.
LanguageTool: [RECOMMENDED] Another excellent proofreader. It also has a word limit in free accounts, but if you use the add-on for Google Docs, it counts each page as a new document, so hitting the word limit is nearly impossible. It helps you to rewrite a sentence (3 a day), even if it doesn't raise any flags; it's very useful for when your sentence is grammatically correct, but it doesn't feel quite right.
Grammarly, Hemingway Editor: No so great, but they do the basic job.
