essentially. honda claims marc's data exonerates him-> i think the FIM asked honda to release it just to shut everyone up-> honda said no thats stupid-> vale takes case to sports-court where presumably they look at data-> marc got cleared/said no vale. you lost.->honda and FIM realized marc was getting death threats and shit-> no data for you crazy people jesus christ make it stop. so no! vale never got to see marc's data from sepang or phillip island in 2015 that i could find (could be wrong! please give me sources otherwise if soooo)... that being said, i think the idea that marc's riding in PI that year and sepang was a deliberate sabotage doesnt come from hard evidence so much as the eyeball test. from uccio. i think this because he said it! in an article! to reporters! genuinely one of my fav things ot think abt wrt tadc is like. the technical side of things. like idrk a lot abt computer science but i know a little and also like sci fi so i can follow a little of it and its really cool to think abt. like to me? the reason why abstraction occurs is bc, in the circus, a person is effectively JUST their mind. the mind is in a computer and all the signals its got is being read and interpretted and thats what gets the player model and how the person percieves themself to be standing or smth. and then the computer just sorta puts them somwhere and goes from there. so then abstraction is those signals starting to get jumbled up and jumbled up until the computer cant read it anymore and it just... gives the person a mess of an avatar bc it cant interpret them any other way. and bc the persons mind is all mixed in w computer junk this process kinda... scatters them a bit? and the computer can only send signals to the mind and affect its perception, but once all the computer and the mind are too jumbled up the computer cant put it back together

Data would be so so good at setting up play cities (they're functional and up to standard city codes but-) and Will is so, so good at sitting RIGHT in the middle of said cities I think. but Data I think would just accept this fact and start building around him. LOOK!!! It's not Will's fault that the best place to see the city is IN the city!!

Data eventually would just start building like. Decoy cities or tracks for Will I think. also you cannot tell me that Data doesn't do like... older sibling research. "How to play train with baby" "why does baby keep sitting on the train set"

WILL however likes playing or hanging out with Data because there's not a lot of unexpected things that happen, honestly, and its great especially for that baby brain. having stuff to pay attention to would kinda coax him to be a little older in the brain but Data is pretty calming and steady and its so nice to just have that brain shut off. ALSO Data does not mind enless re-runs of Will's favorite cartoons. Which is a necessity, ty @deuce-agere

Could you tell us more about travel writing? What does jt entail exactly and how did you get it

Hi! I recently answered an ask about how I got the job, but I can talk a bit more about what I actually do.

I don't want to be too specific because the more I talk about the company, the easier it would be to find out which one it is and dox me. But basically, most of the job involves finding the best ways to travel. I spend a LOT of time researching this. Most of that research is data and logistics and it's boring, but then we get to write about the destination itself and that's more interesting.

That is the bulk of my work. Additionally, I get to write long-form pieces on the side, and those are pretty much 100% my choosing. That is the fun part because it's all my own ideas and there's less grunt work. I get maybe 4-10 hours per week on that stuff.

Sometimes I can get the company to help me pay for travel, but it's only about the cost of one plane ticket so I have to use it wisely. In exchange for that money, I write a piece for the company about the destination/my trip. There's also an occasional mandatory trip that gets paid for and that I don't choose, but that's once a year or less. Otherwise, I pay for all my traveling out of pocket.

Happy data privacy week! Here's some pointers and reminders on posting your children online!

-most content on CP websites was posted by the parents first. Just because you think the photo you posted was innocuous, doesn't mean it doesn't exist somewhere on a malicious website.

- teaching your kids about internet privacy and forbidding them from posting on social media, getting a phone etc. Does NOTHING for them if you're not following those rules yourself. ESPECIALLY if you're going around posting images of your children.

-set boundaries with your family members about not reposting or sharing content of your children outside of a group chat.

-a pictures worth a thousand words yadda yadda BUT- physical pictures are worth a gazillion. And they minimize the risk of people stealing images of your children.
