it is actually so difficult to insult a guy like wei wuxian because even below-the-belt insults make nary a dent on him. people can call him names, disparage him, ruin his reputation, but his self-image is NOT affected by it. he knows himself and his values. there is a way to get a rise out of him but that usually involves insulting the people he cares deeply about (jiang yanli, lan wangji for example) instead of himself (which is not about having a low self-esteem but having his own boundaries and principles, mind you), but try to spew out hate and he will laugh directly in your face before moving on. someone might be like, “oh, you’re fengmian’s bastard child—” and wei wuxian will just go, “aHhahhahHAHA, nice one. have a good day!” or someone might say, “you’re a filthy, no-good demonic cultivator,” and he’ll just go, “now, filthy is a stretch. i take great pride in my personal hygiene!” come at him with your wittiest or your most ruthless insult and he will summarily dismantle it before disregarding your opinion entirely. which i think is just another piece of wei wuxian’s mindset that actually allowed him to stand before the cultivation mob and make a stance—he’s always been one to think for himself and not let others and their words colour his perception of wrong and right, possible and impossible, good and evil, especially when it came to him and his actions. to hell with their narrow-minded judgements, wei wuxian knew where he stood and why he stood there.

The way Lando (and Carlos) immediately go back to each other after having a hard time and being down needs to be studied. They probably find comfort in each other due to the fact it reminds them of much simpler days aka their McLaren era. They’re soooo Call it what you want by Taylor swift coded

this is exactly how i look and feel like whenever they try to convince us that they're "just rivals" and nothing more until one of them retires, and then go and do this everytime.
#and they have anniversaries and eachother's families treat them like they're already part of them and#they get invited to family private events and they always are there for eachother and so much about them it's A BIG ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM#and it's so odd for rivals in such sports to be like this#being mindful of space between eachother while they're racing and prioritizing you both being on 'the podium together'#(creating one of the most skillful strategies ever seen too)#and caring about eachother's wellbeing when there's an incident#and looking out and speaking for eachother and getting asked about eachother's choices like you're eachother's partners#and they probably actually do consider eachother's opinions so highly its crazy#(let's think about lando knowing about carlos choosing williams before anyone and him defending carlos' choice too)#and all the times carlos brought up a problem because lando in particular was the first victim of it???#(lando's back pain for the seats and carlos bringing it up to fia unprompted)#AND SOMEHOW EVEN ALWAYS HINTING THAT IF THEY RETIRE THEY'RE GONNA BE IN EACHOTHER'S LIVES ANYWAY#AND IF THEY 'HAD TO CHOOSE ANOTHER JOB' THEY ALWAYS CHOOSE SOMETHING THAT THEY'D DO TOGETHRR#either it being a rescue for dogs OR ACTUALLY OPENING KARTING SPACES AT THE SAME TIME#AND THEIR GRANDSTANDS???? GOD YOU CANT TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THEM IS NOT INFLUENCED OR NUANCED BY THE OTHER#i dont even know why i am ranting but its getting honestly ridiculous to act like this is not the reality they live in#and its just THE STUFF WE GET TO KNOW#its probably not 5% of what actually they do with eachother or how much time they actually spend together#WE DONT KNOW SHIT#and thank god we dont#AND HELL YEAH THEY ARE A COMFORT FOR EACHOTHER BTW#i think carlos was probably the most supportive person lando had in his career and he was supposed to be his FIRST rival in equal machinery#and yet he took him under his wing he helped him get confident and taught him so much in the same way lando's approach to life probably#helped carlos get better and grow into who he is today... to this day they are so intertwined in eachother#friend it's just too small of a word#i get him actually#carlando#anon ask

So, what do we think about this?
It's actually strange how, the more I read into SotE, the more I feel Miquella is not intentionally evil.
It's ironic. Before the DLC, my headcanon pretty much was him having Griffith-esque themes, wanting to make his own Falconia.
And now when the DLC has come out with all it implies, I feel I'm wrong. I feel increasingly there is a "tragic misunderstanding of one's own self and limits" leading to "end justifies the means" to "road to hell is paved with good intentions" here.
SotE doesn't undo Miquella's kindness.
He very much is still the character who grew frustrated with the uselessness of the Golden Order when it offered no deliverance for his suffering sister (Radagon's Ring of Light),
who fed his own blood to a sapling in hopes it would grow into a new Erdtree and provide a haven for the outcast (Haligtree Knight Armour, Old Albus Dialogue, Royal Knight Helm),
who developed unalloyed gold to ward off effects of outer gods such as the frenzied flame (Unalloyed Gold Needle, Note: Miquella's Needle),
and who wished to free Godwyn of his suffering (Golden Epitaph).
Tumblr media
Miquella observes, learns and improves upon. What did he learn to make the decisions he did? To take the same path his mother took, inspired by the suffering inflicted on those dear to them, believing firmly the sacrifices would "fix the world".
Both made a promise/vow/prayer we never hear fully (Final Cutscene, Golden Braid).
The suffering of the Tarnished, of Godfrey, of the Misbegotten and the Omen for peace and order. The suffering of the Haligtree, of Malenia, of Radahn and Mohg, for equality and compassion.
Marika separated Radagon from herself, but love was what broke her, so Miquella separated St. Trina from himself and divested himself of his love.
But unlike Marika, who realized the mistakes she'd made and chose to defy the Greater Will, and Radagon who stayed delusionally loyal, it was Miquella who was delusional, and St. Trina who realized what a terrible mistake was in the making and what terrible mistakes had already been made...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
St. Trina is Miquella. This is him asking "Make me stop, don't let me become a god, you must kill me, grant me forgiveness". At some point he realized what he'd done and only death would grant him forgiveness for it...
For what kind of a god would he become when he'd abandoned all he'd promised to save.

Putting a bit in the terrible influence tour where Dan pretends to hit Phil with a chair was so brave of them. It is honestly a miracle Phil did not end up with a concussion at some point because he accidentally stumbled into the chair instead away from it.

Also, LOVE Episode 8 for bringing back one of my favorite Lonely Statement Things: the "It was a crowd with no people in it." trope. There's bodies and faces and voices but no people. You are surrounded and still so terrifyingly alone

I'm fascinated by Gwendolyn Bouchard for a multitude of reasons (love me a girlfailure) but what I'm the most curious about is why she's so hellbent on having Lena's position at the OIAR. It's been established that the Bouchards are a very well-off family (I can't remember if thats tmagp-specific lore or if that was mentioned in tma as well) so it's not like Gwen needs the job, especially a job that doesn't seem very glamorous. She seems incredibly dedicated to it though (her being so insistent with specific filing of cases in episode 1 I believe? is what piqued my interest) and is so insistent on climbing a corporate ladder that only seems to lead to Lena's position for no real reason. I get the OIAR is a part of the UK government and that could look good if she's trying to get higher-up positions, but the OIAR is certainly far from a respected or well-known organization (as far as I am aware) so I'm not really sure what her goal is here, and I really hope we find out

I was listening to some Ace Attorney soundtrack while reading YouTube comments, and I often see people commenting about how the entire franchise wouldn't have happened if it weren't for DL - 6. Which is true, that incident was the catalyst for a huge amount of events, however...
An special comment caught my attention. Perhaps, it's not DL-6 the reason behind majority of events.. but rather, IS-7.
Because if that incident didn't happen, DL-6 wouldn't have either.
The day Gregory died was when he inflicted a penalty in von Karma's perfect record, and that was during Jeffrey Master's trial (or wtvr his official name is, I personally played the fan translation). If IS-7 never happened, that trial wouldn't have aswell. Gregory wouldn't have gone against von Karma for a whole year, he wouldn't have shattered his perfect record and, therefore, there would be "no price for him to pay".
Perhaps, it wasn't von Karma the great genius behind all of Ace Attorney's events, bur rather Dane Gustavia.

something something glammike thing where annoying ghost hunters come to the pizzaplex and ask questions about william and the MCI and the hauntings and some influencers rent the place from time to time for that sweet sweet fazclout and this really peeves glamfreddy because Michael knows firsthand that this isn't something you really want to poke about (maybe for the fun of it, and CC's personal suggestion, Glamfreddy makes a snide comment about biting the ghost hunters lol)(they probably know what it means lmao)

given my theory of rocketcorp being responsible for providing technology, virtual reality experience to the outernet (more about it in my previous ramble post) and ruling over it in general. . .
i thought about the possibility of rocketcorp being responsible for the gold incident

They're trying to, successful ? Not so much. Partially because public is harder on women having sex than men but also because everyone and their mother have been wanting to have sex with Luigi since day 1. Half the people are asking who cares if it's consensual between two adults ( if the tapes even exist, whose existence seems unlikely) the other half are asking for links. Lmao it's more irritating than anything.
They're trying to run a 2000s smear but it won't work in present day.
the funniest thing about this is that Luigi was very openly against pornography, dude would be losing his shit at people asking for links xD
also who cares amirite if two adults are consensually having sex and filming it that's their issue why tf does anybody else care it's not them that's involved so why're they bothered
and anyways the media trial that led to whatever happened about Amanda is already happening with Luigi since day one, the media has painted him as guilty from the starting, his presumption of innocence is basically invalid atp what with the documentaries and the authorities deliberately trying to make the public angry at him this is just their latest trick to actually make the old people mad at him because once again young people don't care but because of various reasons only old people get to be on the jury so it kinda really matters

an edek themed collage 🪲
#not me posting this just to have an excuse to talk about him more aaahahhhah#i've created edek approx 4 years ago and since then he went through little to no design changes#he is jus flawless. perfect#his personality however.. oof#i mean !!! he's not a bad guy#as i mentioned before he's very friendly and open to new people and opportunities#its just. he was based on my (now) ex best friend#me and that friend were close during primary school and despite me moving cities we managed to keep this friendship going#but you know. it wasnt the same. it became long distance#and i think i manifested my longing by creating an oc that was based on his aesthetics and personality#it took me some time to realise that i've been viewing this friend through lens of this oc. that of course lead to idealisation#because he wasn't physically there with me i created an imaginary version of him in my head#it was also because at this point we were getting older and slowly growing apart#and i think i wanted to grasp a little part of him that would still understand me#edek's relationship with ryba was also heavily influenced by this relationship#and. well. the things that my ex friend and edek have in common are short temper (despite acting chill) and trouble showing affection#he also tends to say things faster than he can even think them through#oh and he enjoys long walks through the woods and mountain hiking and bicycling and bugs and mushrooms and. yeah#and the other traits!!!!#he is suuuuuuper protective of his loved ones especially his younger sister irenka#his interest include everything thats fantasy and with folklore themes#hes also a stoner lol#aaand a funfact - he and zbyszek (of dycha za zbycha!!!!) used to be friends in childhood but they aren't friends as of now#why you might ask? from edek's pov zbyszek and his family just randomly disappeared#and edek was the only one that wasn't in on the fact that they have moved to the usa#edek wondered why his best friend at that time didn't tell him such important news#and often thought that there mustve been something wrong with him or zbyszek didn't actually like him that much#this incident heeeavily influenced his perception of relationships in the future#OH AND ALSOO hes an artist he graduated art hs with a degree in graphic design and is in college for the same thing#original character

Gokuto Jihen Shuibanashi -Honjitsu, Kareinaru Koto- Light Novel Summary
Tumblr media
Below I will give a summary of the “Gleaning Topic: Today, Something Grand” Gokuto Jihen 44 page Light Novel (available for 300 yen on BOOTH). Please support the official release by purchasing this light novel! The plot is Saitou centric this time. A synopsis is as follows:
Saitou has the day off and decides to cook for the escorts. Kirika, who is dearly afraid at what Saitou might do, sends Ayako out to aid him. Saitou and Ayako plan a shopping day to get ingredients, navigating the chaotic streets of the Underworld Capital, while Kirika deals with the cooking aftermath.
Spoilers below (of course) so proceed with caution!
The story starts with Saitou, sitting in a beam of light, drinking his tea in the dining room, watching as Kirishima wolfs down some rice, Kinoshita comes in for breakfast, and Tagami and Hirahara fall asleep in their food. He's got the day off today, and no one has asked him for any assistance. As the vice captain, or the Senior Management Advisor, he doesn't really have any defined duties. Rokkaku's also not here at the moment, so he's finding himself rather bored.
As lunchtime rolls around, he has a great idea: What if he cooks lunch for the escorts? It's his duty as their senior officer to do something nice for them, after all. But Kirika is dead worried about this. Saitou's never done anything beyond boiling some water, will he be able to cook at all? She suggests they make curry, since it's easy to make. Since she can't join Saitou for the shopping, she hopes that Ayako can do her best and guide the shopaholic through the Underworld Capital safely.
Which is what Ayako did her best to do. At the vegetable shop, Saitou is charmed by a melon gourd and decides he just has to have it. Along with every vegetable in the store. They both know there's no way they'll be able to carry all that home, so Saitou just agrees to the price the shop keeper gives for delivery. Ayako hasn't even had a chance to check his math before Saitou's already gone to the butchers and bought every meat on rack. Again, Ayako doesn't have a chance to speak up before the man is shipping a mountain of meat back home.
They're just about ready to go home when Saitou stops to gaze at a beautiful plate on display at a tableware store. Ayako and Saitou follow the store owner in, who's extravagantly talking about how this beautiful plate is made of bone. Ayako's not too interested, as she isn't one for luxury goods, but Saitou's already buying it along with 12 cups and a pot (Ayako no, don't look at the price tag!).
Ayako has never been this exhausted shopping before, yet Saitou is still in very high spirits and practically leaving her behind with his large strides. Ayako is stopped by a woman selling flowers, and while she wants to leave, she gets caught up in a fight happening in the streets. Just as she finally snaps and yells at them with her second mouth, Saitou comes back and very elegantly kicks the two brawlers into a nearby river, saving both the flower seller and Ayako.
The flower seller thanks Saitou for stopping the fight, and Saitou thanks Ayako for speaking up so he could hear. Ayako's second mouth eats the flower, and the two can finally leave the shopping district.
Before they head home, though, Saitou offers Ayako a break by stopping into a western cafe. While the two drink their tea, Ayako brings up a question to Saitou. "Aren't you from the west?" The following conversation reveals a lot about Saitou.
Saitou is indeed from the west - his name "Saitou" was even given to him when he entered the Special Affairs Bureau, similarly to how a certain nurse got her name when she joined Licorice General Hospital. So why is it that he joined the Special Affairs Bureau? As everyone (seemingly) already knew, most branches had their own way of recruitment which were decided by the heads of the department - but not the Special Affairs Bureau. Instead, Rokkaku "scouted" them and brought them to the office. Saitou, on the other hand, was recruited by the Court of Enma.
However, his answer to Ayako was so lacking in information that she ended up not bringing it up again. Finally, it's time for the duo to go home, where Kirika is staring down crate after crate of things Saitou has ordered. Surely... surely he's not planning on eating all of this for lunch, is he?
But unfortunately for Kirika, Saitou absolutely plans on putting all of this in the curry. So first, Kirika has to assess Saitou's cooking abilities. Saitou absolutely has no idea what to do when placed in front of some vegetables, so Kirika step by step guides Saitou in what to do.
First, peel the onion. Just like that. No, not like that. Saitou stop. Saitou, no, that's the edible part. Saitou stop- Saitou, there's no onion left, you peeled all of it.
But that's not too bad, Kirika and Ayako can always figure it out later. What's more depressing is watching Saitou peel the potato so much that it's tiny little chunks now. The women devise a plan to figure this out- Ayako can distract Saitou with the meat cutting process while Kirika can hurry behind the scenes and chop most of the vegetables (but not all of them, no, otherwise Saitou won't feel like he's helping).
Kirika, amidst this chaos, is reminded of a fairytale from the west. A princess wants to live like a farmer, so she starts a farm, but she only wants to harvest the plants and not tend to them. The farmers, then, help her do all the hard work so she can reap the benefits at the end.
Kirika fully understands the feelings of those farmers.
Between Saitou filling the entire stove with pots and nearly burning the kitchen down by cranking the fire to 11, Rokkaku comes home from his meeting. He sees Saitou in the kitchen and immediately asks him to stop. But, of course, Saitou is quick with the remarks.
You wouldn't be able to do all this cooking even if you tried.
You know that's not true. Remember the hamburg steak?
Apparently, yes, Saitou really remembers the hamburg steak. One day when these two adults were left alone in the manor, they played rock paper scissors to decide who gets to be the cook. Saitou, who won, requested a hamburg steak, to which Rokkaku bundled a bunch of meat together, grilled it, left it unseasoned, and gave it to Saitou. The hamburg steak broke a knife.
Rokkaku doesn't want to argue this anymore, so he entrusts the process to Kirika who promises she'll keep Saitou in line. Saitou, who's none the wiser, is super grateful to Kirika and gives her a present of cookies that he got while he was shopping.
Finally, lunch is ready. Tagami is just waking up and smelling something nice. Except the moment he finds out Saitou cooked it, he looks to the sky and accepts that he might die today.
Surprisingly, though, his fears weren't confirmed as the curry is actually delicious. Non-conventional, of course, but really good. Saitou is way too proud of himself, and declares to Rokkaku that from now on, he'll cook lunch. Rokkaku immediately dismisses this. Saitou, not one to back down, questions Rokkaku's decision. Well why not? Isn't the curry good?
Rokkaku can't seem to tell Saitou the main issue is, of course, him, so he throws Kirika under a bus and says "but if you cook lunch, Kirika will be out of a job." Saitou accepts this and happily goes back to... whatever he was doing, and Rokkaku really feels like he dodged a bullet there.
Well, until he saw the bill come in.

My critique of WH is also not that the narrator seems to have such a biased, strange inner moral code/ sense of justice, that really would only make sense to him, that really only reflects his own emotional truth (I think many people have that); it’s that everyone around him reflects this in a way that feels … unrealistic.
