#sars cov 2 #covid 19 #i've interacted with 4 different friends/acquaintances in the past month alone who have all been hospitalised after having a stroke #(and in one case multiple strokes)#one who i visited in hospital over the weekend had a (unmasked) nurse coughing up a lung in her room 👍#and one of them who had to undergo surgery also had to be moved to a different hospital #bc the ward they were keeping him in was full of confirmed covid patients 👍👍#idk how many times it needs to be said before it gets through people's heads but VACCINES ARE NOT ENOUGH #and encouraging ppl to rely solely on them when there are already plans to jack up the prices so you have to KEEP PAYING for boosters #for an ONGOING mass-disabling event is so laughably unrealistic and absurd and flat-out demonic #you need to mitigate the actual spread of covid by WEARING A MASK + fighting for CLEAN AIR/proper ventilation in public spaces!!!!!!#ppl are so eager to forget the whole 'break the chain of transmission' thing and how effective masking is and so this is where we're at #'i got infected and infected other ppl who might die or become permanently disabled but it's no big deal bc no one else wears a mask #so if /i/ didn't infect them someone else would have anyway so it's not my fault and really its got nothing to do with me and my choices'#if everyone is responsible then no one is responsible - that's how it works right?#it's no wonder some ppl go rabid at even the sight of someone wearing a mask and minding their own business #ppl seeking treatment for unrelated conditions/illnesses and then dying from covid caught in hospitals #due to lack of npis/basic mitigation measures - no regulations no accountability #we truly live in a hell (''new normal'') of our own making #anyway none of this is new news at all i mostly thought it might be good to share the info graphic abt signs of stroke #covid has been given free reign and chances are increasing as to how likely you'll encounter it happening to someone you know at some point #also heart attacks and pots and alzheimer's etc etc etc

Why are ppl scared to call it what it is and say we’re still going thru covid on top of seasonal illness. Like. That’s pretty important right. I was watching the news and they were like oh yeah we have an unprecedented number of flu cases “as well as other sicknesses” without actually saying Covid. No announcement abt vaccinations or masking or anything. Also if I hear someone joking abt “war flashbacks” for mentioning covid I fucking hate u

#source: most of my family members are nurses and it was so bad for one of them they had to be put on a ventilator. in the hospital they #worked at. looking back I think I had a reason to feel a little offput by the shows of support early pandemic #with people tying blue ribbons around trees and lighting signs blue to support healthcare workers #I get that it was supposed to be moral support when we couldn’t do anything but follow health advisories #and it did matter to make them feel uplifted and do something than nothing. im not gonna deny that #but. you can still help now. u know that right. you still have a responsibility here #u can still mask up. u can still get vaxxed and call in sick to avoid infecting others #don’t leave it on healthcare workers to pick up the pieces just because they were doing it before. do u think they had a choice?#nobody likes picking up the slack for someone else and now that we have more tools to do smth couldn’t we just. do it????#im not a virologist but i also feel like continuing to let it get worse by letting more mutations develop #could continue to set us back since this virus is pretty good at fucking us up long term and finding new ways to do that #while there are ppl still researching covid which is STILL A RELATIVELY NEW VIRUS. and studying possible treatment and cures #yapping #vent

climbed a couple of mountains and found a couple of frogs yesterday!

#oops haven't posted a photo of me on here in forever and i cant remember what tag i used for them #rose image #maybe #anyway neither frog showed visible signs of chytrid which is good (very difficult to tell by eye even in late stages of infection though)#it was a very long and hilly hike and my legs hurt today

#if u can. obviously #not everyone can but for those who can feel my words infect ur brain #this isnt to shame ppl who buy from fast fashion brands for financial reasons #but if ur fast fashion clothes are showing signs of wear and tear fix em!!#u COULD replace them.... or u could patch them up and embroider cute flowers or a cool ass dragon on them #and then boom ur fast fashion item is longer lasting and ur own creation that u can wear proudly #u can sew a rip together #and darn over a threadbare section #if u have gained/lost weight u can try to adjust them bc theres lots of guides out there #u can embroider over a stain or just purposefully add more so it looks deliberate #eg. bleach painting #also if u were just gonna throw it out buy a replacement anyway why not give mending a go!!#or cut it up to make patches for future mends

Great news everyone!

My blood test came back and I did so well that they want to test me again just to see if I can do it again!

#there are signs of an infection and they want me to do a 12 hour fast to make sure #that I wasn't reacting to a food that I ate that morning #but if coffee and cereal with milk are giving me high prolactin and white blood cell count #then I think we may have... different problems.

this is needleclaws, one of the deadliest warriors of drizzleclan! they don't look it, but their agility and natural talent for battle are not to be messed with. they used to be a kittypet named spikes, but were led to the clan through strange visions

needleclaws is a lykoi! i thought a partially hairless cat would fit nicely with spearmaster's skinny and almost alien look in rain world :3 when they joined drizzleclan, they requested to keep their poncho, as it was a gift from their housefolk [and kept them nice and warm]. peachstar was more than happy to oblige for the comfort of her warrior

One-eyed coyote skull. Unlike the other one-eyed lad, this one looks like they had this issue since birth or early on in life. The left zygomatic is completely warped and the top P4 is underneath the bottom M1. The left side of the mandible is also underdeveloped.

Though this is speculative, this could have been due to the same issue that causes wry mouth, malpositioning of the fetus in the mother's uterus. Coyotes have larger litters in areas they’re more regularly hunted so it’s possible this one may have been squished :<
