An independent Courier would actually hate being in charge or enforcing standards in New Vegas. At least in my mind.

They made Vegas independent but I feel like that playthrough/style so clearly makes it apparent it isn't for them. They are making Vegas a place where people can live freely, like how House genuinely didn't care what people did but without the behind-the-scenes Big Brother surveillance he did. Having every family, faction, and other influence group or person comes to them about alliances or rules would be draining, and boring, one note.

In an independent Vegas, The Courier is also Independent. They like getting rid of lines and borders that impede freedom, they like to help give people the tool but I don't believe they want to be the one to shape it.

I am so proud of myself. I just finished Fallout: NV a third time on what I think is my best run of this game. I reached max level and almost every faction (say for the Powder Gangers and Legion) either liked me or idolized me.

I did almost every companion quest (Raul’s and Lily’s were bugged) and I got the Great Khans away from the Legion. I killed Caesar and Lanius. Got the Independent Vegas ending again.

Cannibal Johnson died helping Adrien and Boone fight Lanius.

Vault 3 11/1/81

Over in Westside, the people seem to be prospering as best they can in the wasteland. They have co-ops, a militia, and general self-sufficiency. I was a bit off-put at first by The Thorn, but its head, Red Lucy, explained to me that The Thorn reminds the people of West Vegas that they are still independent and that although their comfortable lives are a gift, they need to be one with the land around them, too. I respect that.

Boone and I raided Vault 3 late in the night and took care of the fiends inside. Nothing more than a bunch of murderous junkies. Reading some of the logs of the old residents (or not so-old), their stories reminded me of Vault 101. These people were probably just like us, and it's only by luck that we weren't raided like them. It was heartbreaking, really.

The NCR should have less on their backs after this, I hope -- quite a blunder if you ask me. One of their guys couldn't take it, and I found him holed up in some side room of maintenance. They'd better make good with this.

Prospector Saloon, so quiet so dim; Courier Six seated at the bar, flipping through a magazine, Trudy cleaning wine glasses, both complaining about the weather. Courier Six with his hand-me-down boots, holding a Varmint rifle, an old gift from an old friend, hunting geckos and coyotes. Courier Six, watching windmills spin in the distance, sitting on his own grave, smoking over it like that checkered-coated man did years ago. In his fuzzy daydreams, in his restless nights sometimes he sees him: in dusty memories so distant, so ancient now.

Courier Six, touching the small scar on his forehead, smiling with a mouth full of yellowed teeth.

Courier Six, who has only heard of the Legion in campfire stories, Courier Six who changes stations when the news sing about that antebellum giant held in Legion hands. Old World far away, unknown and redundant; Hoover Dam painted in crimson, so what?

Courier Six who does not know, who does not care about the bones of the Republic displayed on crosses, the martyrs buried in the sand, all that was lost, all that could have been- Courier Six who does not know because Trudy's beer is cold enough, the water is clean enough, home comfortable enough. Doc Mitchell holds ice over his bruises after a long day and his bed is warm in the afternoon. He watches from his window, his fate asleep, nothing but lone and level sand to be seen, streching for miles and miles, the wasteland resting soundlessly under the lazy autumn sun.

He, the nomad who has finally come home. He, who have doomed Mojave with his passivity, his absence. He, growing old in ignorance.

Sometimes, a familiar voice crackles through the saloon's radio, telling tales of a dam bathed in crimson hues, of a war long lost. Tales of twelve-year-old desert boys wearing uniforms too big for them, of bloodstains on the walls of Californian clinics, of red-clad soldiers dying in their twenties for a man who has burned their futures so that his own torch could blaze over New Vegas.

But Courier Six in his little hut, his little town... A simple life of a simple man closing his eyes under a starless sky and into a dreamless night.

Fallout: New Vegas: Matthew Perry

We at the Independent Fallout Wiki are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Matthew Perry, who voiced Benny in Fallout: New Vegas.

We thank him for all the good memories he has provided, and our hearts go out to his loved ones. Rest in peace, Matthew.

The idea of Riley introducing Arcade to Yes Man has been eating my head for ages- It's gotta be the most awkward first meeting imaginable.

Basic rundown: Shortly after first visiting the Legion Fort, pissing off Caesar and retrieving the platinum chip, Riley decides to open up to Arcade about what he found in Benny's suite after he initially ran off: a new friend with a potential plan to throw all major parties out of New Vegas. So he promises to eventually introduce the two, and imagine Arcade's surprise (or lack thereof) when this 'friend' turns out to be a giant reprogrammed securitron robot.

First impressions are... interesting. I feel like Arcade would definitely be a little unnerved at first, but surprised at the potential for an independent Vegas.
