Another year has passed, and with it the opportunity to reflect back on all that has happened. While my growth was not as dramatic as last year, I can still see lots of positive change.

Hello everyone, first of all I want to wish all Canadians and Americans a happy independence day! Yes, it's July 1st for Canada and July 4th for Americans.

I would also say this for anyone who is interested. I want to organize something of my own. On the occasion of one year on Tumblr, on July 20th, I am organizing Moon Landing Day on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the first man walking on the Moon. It's a very important day for me, and a special one because I'm a space travel enthusiast myself. So everyone who is interested can draw some drawing, some video and photoshop and write fanfiction related to your favorite characters from cartoons, series, movies, video games, literature and other works. Just one topic, but it has to be:

• Must be related to traveling to the moon and Moon Landing. The moon and the stars must be included.

• That one or more characters wear spacesuits. Feel free to invent your version of the space suits you want.

• And no NSFW or any fetishes, pedophilia, zoophilia and incest and other nastiness, please, because that's disgusting. Otherwise, if you do, I'll block you.

• OC and OCs may be included.

• Tag me with my blog name so I know as I am the organizer of this contest as @ducksinspaceadventure

And this is just for fun and all you space travel lovers out there. 😄

it's...missing smackjeeves hours..

telling myself if no one makes a good alternative for smackjeeves in the next like five years, im gonna start making one myself (only 10% serious)

i just miss like that atmosphere of 100% unmarketable, just comic sharing/making space.

where we all knew that 99% of the time the comics we see will never get finished bc ppl get busy, kids grow up and change interests ,etc. (i mention kids bc most of my memories of smackjeeves was when i was a teen, so it was a significant like developmental years as an artist kind experience for me)

like i remember most of the comics were like

barely legible sketch pages with like text written in mspaint.

there was absolutely no quality standard. and that's why it was so good

it made me as a kid feel like oh i can do comics! cause it can be WHATEVER YOU WANTED IT TO BE AND LOOK HOWEVER WAY.

and the collaborative ones on smackjeeves were so fun to look at

just overall.

having that. rough, crude, unmarketable space for art/comics was significant.
