I love shipping characters who hate each other in canon.

I love shipping characters who have had exactly one (1) conversation in canon.

I love shipping characters who have never met in canon.

I love shipping characters from different pieces of media.

It starts off silly. The notion of the pairing is so weird, so unexpected and seemingly dumb that it makes me laugh a little, perk up, look into it and see if this is really a thing.

And then it becomes a joke. Haha, look at this ship I’m shipping ironically, isn’t it silly, it would obviously never work out in canon but I’m looking at it and producing content for it anyway because it’s fun.

But as time goes on, it starts filling my feed. I start thinking about it - really thinking about it. Why did someone put these characters together in the first place? How would they really interact? How did they end up together, and why would they stay together?

What started out as a joke becomes a diving-off point, an opportunity to really think about both characters. The dynamic isn’t canon, so it’s yours to shape. The dynamic isn’t canon, so now you must delve into each character on your own, figure out how you perceive and understand both of them, learn to see them in a different light. What started out as a joke encourages you to dig deeper, think harder, fall even more in love with those characters as you consider the potentials which lie outside of canon, but which ultimately trace their roots through the core of the characters themselves.

Because by their very nature, crackships and rarepairs are not based on plot, and they are not based on canon. They are so seemingly random and odd that they disrupt your typical view of these characters, making you think more deeply about them. The non-canon ships you embrace or reject can inform your perception of these characters on a deep level. They can make you cry just as easily as they make you laugh. They add so much flavor.

And they can also be really, really funny.

He would be extremely protective, almost to the point of being obsessive. He would be very possesive of you, and always want you by his side.

He would feel the need to constantly keep you safe and would get extremely jealous and angry when you interact with anyone else.

As a billionaire, he has a ton of money, so he would spoil you extremely, getting you whatever you wanted and more. He would be extremely controlling, always telling you what to do and not letting you have any say in anything.

He also would be extremely manipulative, using his charming personality to get you to do whatever he wanted.

He would constantly check your messages and calls to make sure you're not talking to anyone else, and would probably even set up security cameras in your house to keep an eye on you 24/7.

He would be very possessive of you in public as well, always wanting to hold your hand or keep you close by his side.

He would be extremely jealous if anyone else tried to talk to or flirt with you. He would also be extremely controlling of how you dress, and would only want you to wear things that he approved of.

He would act very charming in front of others, always putting on a facade of being the perfect gentleman. He would be very smooth and charismatic, using his witty banter to make himself seem even more likeable. But deep down, he would be extremely possessive and controlling of you, constantly checking on you and making sure you weren't speaking to anyone else.

People would probably find it weird and creeped out by his obsession with you. They would try to warn you about his possessive and controlling behavior, but he would likely just shrug it off and say he's just protective. He might even try to make himself seem like a hero for being so possessive of you, saying he's just trying to keep you safe from anyone who might try to hurt you.

He would give you tons of rewards, especially materialistic ones. He would take you on shopping sprees and get you whatever you wanted, whether it's expensive jewelry, designer clothes, or anything else your heart desired.

He would also spoil you with lavish vacations and experiences, trying to bribe you into staying with him. He would use his status and wealth to make sure you were always happy and comfortable.

He would be very strict with you, and would not hesitate to dish out punishments if he thought you had done something wrong. These punishments could range from taking away privileges, such as not letting you leave the house or use your phone, to more physical punishments like spanking, slapping, or even isolating you from everyone else. He would also use guilt-tripping and emotional manipulation to make you feel bad about yourself and comply with his demands.

He would constantly shower you with praise, always telling you what a good person you are and how lucky he is to have you. He would compliment your looks, your personality, and anything else he could think of, trying to make you feel on top of the world. However, these praises would often come with undertones of control and manipulation, trying to keep you dependent on his approval.

He would be very affectionate with you, always wanting to hold you close and touch you. He would always want physical contact, whether it's just holding hands or more intimate actions. He would absolutely kill for you. He is extremely possessive, and would do anything to keep you by his side, even if it meant killing others who he saw as a threat to your relationship. He would not hesitate to use violence to protect you, and would feel no remorse for his actions as long as it ensured your safety and loyalty.

He definitely has a shrine. He would dedicate a room in his house to you, filled with photos and mementos of your relationship. He would also have a collection of your belongings, such as clothes or jewelry, that he would often sniff or touch to feel closer to you. He might even have a notebook or journal devoted to writing about you and your relationship.

He would do everything in his power to try and convince you to stay with him. He would beg and plead, and use emotional manipulation to guilt you into staying.

He might also use his wealth and status to try and bribe you into staying, offering you materialistic rewards or threats of what would happen if you left. If all those tactics failed, he might resort to threats of violence or even actually being violent towards you. He would not take no for an answer, and would do anything to keep you in his control.

He would definitely want to marry you, and would probably start planning the wedding the moment he realized how much he wanted you. He would want a grand, lavish affair, using his wealth and status to make sure everything was perfect. He would want a huge reception, with all of his (and your) friends and family there to witness the ceremony.

He would also want a very strict prenuptial agreement, making sure that he had complete control over the marriage and you.

He would undoubtedly want children, and would probably start trying to manipulate you into having them as soon as possible. He would see them as a way to further tie you to him, and would want them to be a product of his own genes.

He would want to raise them to be just as possessive and controlling as he is and would not tolerate disobedience or talking back. He might also use the threat of taking away the children as a way to keep you from leaving.

He would probably get very upset if you didn't want to have children with him, and would likely try to manipulate you into changing your mind. He would use guilt-tripping and emotional manipulation to make you feel bad for not wanting children, and would try to convince you that it was your duty to give him children.

If you couldn't have children, he might resort to using a surrogate or adoption, but would still be very possessive and critical of the child, seeing them as a substitute for what he really wanted.

It's a big shame the anime skipped the 2nd half of Kuusuke's monologue from chapter 178. Some people tend to misinterpret this scene, and this part makes it even more clear that Kuusuke was very much in the wrong.

“Reiner doesn’t talk about Bertholdt once in s4”

First off, wrong. (Let’s put a pin in this.)

Secondly, who exactly does Reiner have to talk to about Bertholdt after his death?

The people who last knew him as an 11 year old, such as Porco and Colt?

The people who are too young to even remember him, like Gabi and Falco?

Zeke and Pieck, the people who left him for dead?

Anyone else in Marley who can’t know how he and Reiner changed their minds about the island devils?

The Scouts who killed him after he wiped out dozens of their comrades?

Reiner can’t meaningfully talk to some of these people about Bertholdt because they don’t know the person Bert grew up into. For the people who do know the “real” Bert, there’s a lot of baggage related to the Battle for Shiganshina to work through, first.

Know who Reiner can talk to, though? The one person he does talk to meaningfully about Bertholdt?

Annie! The one time Reiner mentions Bertholdt in s4 outside of a namedrop is to Annie.

And it’s to apologize and express his regret over being the reason Annie and Bert never got to see their fathers again. Yes it’s a short conversation but it’s very clear that Reiner didn’t just forget his best friend. The fact that people claim Reiner doesn’t care about Bertholdt is ludicrous.

Look at his face and tell me he doesn’t care!

For the folks who’ve only watched the anime, in the manga Reiner’s nightmare features Levi, Mikasa, and the image of Eren cutting Bertholdt out of his titan. The anime cut this detail out, I believe for scene transition purposes.

In conclusion, Reiner’s silence isn’t an indication that he doesn’t care. Also, I mean, this is Reiner. He cares deeply about the people in his life, even people who don’t deserve it *coughkarinacough*

For example, Haymitch and Effie will be together in every HG fic I ever write.

The audacity to kill off Remus and Tonks will be removed in every HP fic I write.
