Next week, L5 should release new info about Victory's Road, and I'm really excited about it, maybe we can even get a release date (?

I can't wait till this game is released, i love the inazuma eleven series to death and i'm dying to see what's going to happen next

That being said, i'd also like to thank the nintendo anime channel app on my nintendo 3DS for getting me into this show

Sad that the service has shut down cause it was one of the only ways to watch the dutch dub legally

This app was a beast in anime streaming though, i've never had any connection issues and they had the entirety of inazuma eleven on it (127 episodes) the kirby: right back at ya (100 episodes) and alot of other shows.

So I'm trying to go into IE Great Road of Heroes as blind as possible and only know vague things about the game like how Unmei is going to be our player chara and that we'll get to play with the OG/Go/Ares/Orion characters.

And while thinking about Unmei I kind of started wondering about a possible storyline for the game. Like what if the story is set during the Ares/Orion Go! timeline?! Because, if the Ares/Orion timeline is supposed to be apart of a separate reality to the the OG then he'd most likely be in middle school around the same time as the other Go charas. I mean, we do see a kid who looks similar to his concept art in Orion and yeee-

It'd be cool if the game went this route, with Unmei being a new manager for a possibly new(?) Go Raimon team. It would also be cool if the reason why the OG/Ares/Orion charas are there is because Fei & Clark Wonderbot brought them into the future to fix or redo something that was messed up.

These are all just thoughts though!!! If the game is going in an entirely different direction than that's good too! I'm just happy that we're getting it at all ;w;///

LEVEL-5 has changed the title of Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes to Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road of Heroes, and has shared new information, screenshots, and artwork in a new development blog.

Title Change

The title has changed from Great Road of Heroes to Victory Road of Heroes. The story became one not about strong players, but about training and working hard one step at a time to achieve victory. So “Victory Road” ended up being a more appropriate title.

The change was also to not have new protagonist Unmei Sasanami round up characters from past Inazuma Eleven games, as previously planned, but to build a proper original story, then implement elements in which the player can round up past characters on top of that.

“Story Mode” will tell the story of Unmei Sasanami, while “Chronicle Mode” will allow players to round up characters from the entire history of Inazuma Eleven, killing two birds with one stone.

Match System

The most difficult and time-consuming part of development has been trying to achieve the intuitive pen-touch controls of previous Inazuma Eleven titles on current hardware—without a pen.

The demos LEVEL-5 created up until now did not have a good enough control feel, and gameplay would end up becoming that of a standard soccer game, which would be difficult for users who are not good at soccer games.

After much trial-and-error, the “Free Soccer Interface” was born, allowing players to switch between their preferred playstyle at any time during the match.

However, even when using the “soccer game-like” controls with a controller, the series’ unique, simple operation remains in tact. The pen-touch controls of past games can also be used through finger-touch. LEVEL-5 is also considering releasing a special pen for players who would prefer to use a pen.

—Switch Version: In handheld mode, you can position the console either horizontally or vertically and use line draw (touch controls) or the controller to play. In table mode, you can position the console vertically and use the controller. And in TV mode, you can play horizontally in either horizontal or vertical views of the field using the controller.

Story Visuals

Unlike previous Inazuma Eleven games, the protagonist of Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road of Heroes loves soccer, but cannot play, and instead acts as a coach who scouts players and builds a team.

While details on the story are currently under wraps, it is not about Raimon Junior High School, but is instead the story of a new school in Nagasaki, Kyushu, Japan. The name of the school, like protagonist Unmei Sasanami’s name, has the kanji for “cloud” (雲) in it. “Cloud” is a keyword this time as “inazuma” (lightning) is born from clouds, and LEVEL-5 hopes to evoke a feeling of clouds swelling up to create lightning.

The New Protagonist’s New Story

One change to the story is that Unmei Sasanami’s story is no longer set in a parallel world directly connected to the characters of past Inazuma Eleven games—its setting and characters are now completely original.

The story of the protagonist, unable to play soccer, and his friends carving a path on the road to victory will be one of considerable passion. The time it takes to complete your soccer team will be the longest in the series yet. However, the “soccer battles” before your team is able to play a match will be more enjoyable and strategic than ever before, making the lead-up to a full-scale match even more exciting.

Chronicle Mode

“Chronicle Mode” is a new mode that allows users to team up with characters from past Inazuma Eleven games. This is a heroes legacy mode in which you team up with your favorite characters from the past, create your own team, and take on the worst, strongest, and most fearsome opposing teams. As you clear in-game achievements, you will unlock more characters to team up with and teams to face, and more will be added through updates.

According to the its newly relaunched teaser website, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road of Heroes is still planned for release across PlayStation 4, Switch, iOS, and Android, and more information will be announced this winter.

Another wish thing I have for great road of heroes (honestly I should just make this a series at this point)

I hope characters body types translate better into the game, what I mean is how the games before this only had a few select body types, which makes sense mind you, the first trilogy was only on the original DS in Japan, it was really limited resources and some characters would look different to how they did in the anime.

Example would be Barrack Daniels

This is how he looks in the anime, but there’s only one “strong” body type and it doesn’t resemble how Barrack looks in the anime, so in the games he looks like this

This is more of a nitpick than anything really, if they just have the same 4 body types for characters again it’s not gonna ruin someone’s enjoyment (unless they’re a “what were they thiiiinkiiiiing” game critic) but I just thought it was jarring how some characters look slightly different, again I don’t think this’d ruin someone’s enjoyment but it’d be nice if they added more variety, since there’s only been one “tall” bodytype and only one “short” bodytype across the series

Inazuma Eleven is an anime that I grow up with and has a special place in my heart.  I really hope Level-5 release the new game, and it doesn´t get canceled because I really want to experience that feeling of having a game since day one and it would be the first time I have a game from the series since the release (considering I just get Blizzard a month ago)
