i find this concept of “winning” so funny cause its a book series. Like yeah I realize that how the author views her own character is different than mine so hes probably not going to get treated the way i want him too but that doesn’t mean anything. Genuinely what happens in that series is so inconsequential to me cause no matter what I like tamlins character and find him interesting, theres no way to ‘lose’ 😭 Ill just make fun of canon and live my best life yapping about the characters i like and dislike !!
saw this anti-tamlin post and it struck me just how tragic tamlin's character is. is he truly so evil that he deserves to die? with no friends, no family, no dignity? literally nothing? sjm failed to make me hate him. all I feel for him is pity and sympathy. he made some mistakes, yes, but enough to deserve death? I don't even see people hate on the actual villains this hard.
#pro tamlin#tamlin acotar#tamlin#People are free to hate whatever characters they want but having such vitriol for fans of such character is quite funny#like i personally hate rhysands character but i dont hate fans of his. thats ridiculous#Do i lose if rhysand lives happily ever after in his series? no cause i already knew that#do i lose if Tamlin dies? no cause i already was aware that may happen cause i dont think sjm knows how to handle nuanced characters#In the end its a fictional series and this is just a fandom where creativity is the backbone and loving characters is the spirit#a court of thorns and roses#acotar#I mean my account is here to yap about tamlin and criticize sjms writing cause thats what i want to di#i cant control the hyperfixations 💀#Anyway whatever happens in canon happens in canon cause in my mind theres another au where feylin lives happily ever after#and rhysta is a thing cause i think its funny#also op ur right i swear you see more ppl hate on TAMLIN than Amarantha (a literal abuser) and Hybern😭

Terrible Visions
A scrambled timeline is a timeline that has proceeded much like ours, except that some particular facet has been mixed up all over the place. For example, in the scrambled timeline we will consider today, our world's fictional stories have been told by different people, and in different ways.
Bryan Lee O'Malley, in this alternate timeline, is best known as the cartoonist responsible for Homestuck, a popular comic series about a group of children who become embroiled in a cosmic-scale video game known as Sburb. Although Homestuck is probably most often associated with the cult classic Edgar Wright-directed film adaptation released in 2016, the comics themselves are highly-regarded, and the film brought a new audience to them. Netflix has commissioned an animated continuation, The Homestuck Epilogues, which is due to be released soon.
Andrew Hussie, on the other hand, is a figure you're likelier to know if you're overly online. His "MS Paint Adventures" series - most notably including Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, which is kind of like Homestuck but weirder and hornier - have firmly remained a fixture of obsessive Twitter fandom culture. It doesn't help that the best-known iteration, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, is infamous for stretching thousands of pages of meandering digressions out of a simple and focused narrative starting point. Scott Pilgrim fans have developed something of a toxic reputation, which is not entirely deserved - although of course Knives discourse is interminable, and back in the fandom's heyday there were reportedly incidents of fans assaulting each other "for being evil exes".
Scott Pilgrim fandom was very big back in the day, though, and consequently it was a nexus for other creative figures who would go on to surpass Hussie. Perhaps foremost among these is indie developer Toby Fox. He was literally living in Hussie's basement when he produced ROSEQUARTZ, a universally-beloved retro Goonies-like RPG about a human hybrid boy born to a race of gem-based aliens. He's now developing an episodic spiritual successor, RAZORQUEST, with more overtly dark themes. It revolves around an inheritance dispute among a demon-summoning family.
Other foundational figures in this timeline's internet culture include Alison Bechdel, who helped get the webcomic scene started. Although she's now more seriously acclaimed for her personal memoirs, her gaming webcomic Press Start To Dyke, which premiered in 1998, was once everywhere. It had a broad appeal, and at its height, it was common to see even straight guys sharing pages from it. Time has not been especially kind to it, though, and at this point its main legacy is test.png, a meme spawned by one of the comic's most ill-advised pages.
Then there's John C. McCrae, more often known by his pseudonym Wildbow. A prolific and reclusive author of doorstopping "web serials" - long-form fiction published online - McCrae's best-known serial is still his first, Wind, a noir superhero story set in an alternate history where capes are mostly just a subculture of unpowered vigilantes. Wind landed in a culture already rife with comic book deconstructions, like Alan Moore's 2002 graphic novel Worm Turns, but it nonetheless managed to stand out from the pack with its extensive cast of characters and its themes of coordination problems and the end of the world. Later McCrae web serials include Part (the first "Otherverse" serial; an urban fantasy story about a couple who die in a car accident and find that they have become ghosts), Tear (a "biopunk" story set in a collapsing underwater city), Warn (the controversial Wind sequel), and Play (the second "Otherverse" serial, set in a small Indiana town that helps hide a psychic girl from the CIA).
Last and perhaps least, we should discuss J. K. Rowling. Far and away the most famous of any of these authors, Rowling's name is inseparable from the YA series that she debuted with, the Luz Noceda books, which remain her one successful work. Although it was heavily derivative of older fantasy novels - like Jill Murphy's Academy For Little Witches, or Philip Pullman's Methods Of Rationality trilogy - Luz Noceda was still a monumental and unprecedented success in the publishing industry, and the film adaptations were consistent blockbusters. The final book, Luz Noceda and the Watcher of Rain, contained some allusions to a romantic relationship between Luz and her recently-redeemed associate Amity. Rowling confirmed that this was her intent in subsequent interviews and indicated that she had fought her publishers for it; the film would then go on to escalate matters slightly further.
There have been many lengthy and heated online arguments as to whether the references in the book itself constitute text or mere subtext. Whatever your stance on this discourse, a new complication has been introduced recently: although she has put out no official statement on the matter as of yet, it has become quite apparent from Rowling's shrinking network of contacts and her conspicuous silences that she is certainly TERF-sympathetic, and likely an outright TERF herself. For many, this is leading to a critical reevaluation of the social values inherent in the Luz Noceda series; others, to say the least, are holding off on that kind of reappraisal.
Anyway, Scott Pilgrim just beat Luz Noceda in a Twitter poll for Most Gay Media, and people are piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissed

Got tagged by @chaotic-neutral-knitter to share my favorite fics I've written and I feel a little bad not putting any of my 3 OFMD fics on the list. But in my defense it was very hard to choose between my 116 slutty slutty children, and while I like my OFMD fics a lot (especially Learning and Remembering) I decided to limit myself to five fics across all the fandoms I have written for over the past nine (!!) years, and there are some that stand above the rest.
Maybe I'll Show You the Way (Dune, Paul/Chani). Maybe my recency bias is showing but I really think this is one of the best things I've written. Paul and Chani's whole "falling in love while fighting side by side in an anti-colonial armed resistance movement" romance in Dune Part Two felt like it was designed in a lab to appeal to me specifically, and I just wanted more of it! What started with a simple "5 times they fucked in between fighting the Harkonnens" premise has become a novella-length character study about war, politics, solidarity and resistance to oppression in all its forms, interlaced with a very sweet, youthful first-love romance that always has a bittersweet edge because we the audience know these characters are living in a tragedy. This fic is one chapter from completion and I've been stalling because I really wanna stick the landing on this one, but it will get finished!
a narrow door, swiftly closing (Dune, Paul/Duncan) Different ship, different era (post-Dune Part One) and a very different vibe. The fun of this ship is the multiple power imbalances running in different directions (younger/older, student/teacher, lord/vassal, end product of a 90-generation eugenics program with a mind that can bridge time and space/Just Some Guy). It's also got that chewy age gap thing where the older character has watched the younger character grow from a child to an adult and has to wrestle with the realization that they find them sexually attractive now. Peak forbidden romance and mutual pining in this one and not just one but two of my favorite finally-crossing-the-line kisses I have ever written.
Three Times Is a Habit (Trust, Primo/The Other Paul) Ah yes, my "which doomed curly-haired teenage twink heir to a powerful dynasty named Paul are we talking about?" era. For a hot second (most of 2021) I was really into this hidden gem FX limited series Trust, based (with many creative liberties taken) on the real kidnapping of John Paul Getty III in Italy in the 1970s. The fun of this fandom is that every ship is an absolute garbage fire of bad decisions, and writing the trainwreck emotional logic that leads to a traumatized teenager repeatedly hooking up with his kidnapper was an adventure. There's also a fun meta layer at play in the relationship between our reality, the fictionalized "true" version of the kidnapping that happens in the show, the lies the characters tell about the fictionalized version of the kidnapping in the show, and the version of the characters I'm writing, some of whom are based on real people and some of whom are made up. (Is this RPF? You decide.) This fic will make zero sense if you haven't watched the show. But you should! It's a wild ride with a great cast (Donald Sutherland presente!)
Salvage & Scrap (Mad Max: Fury Road, Gen) Two minor characters who have a combined total of maybe five minutes of screen time produced what was until recently my longest fic on AO3. This fic was based on a fantastic prompt: what if Ace (the older war boy who seems to be Furiosa's second in command on the War Rig) and Valkyrie (Furiosa's Green Place gal pal) both survived their violent vehicular encounters and met each other? The idea was immediately appealing to me because they both care about Furiosa but have known such different versions of her, and the way their worldviews would clash seemed like great story fodder. I still love the imagery of them meeting at the place where their worlds have literally collided--the wreck of the War Rig in the Rock Riders' canyon. Also I recently reread this and I forgot how devastating the tiny glimpse we get of Furiosa is in this fic.
Fightplay (Mad Max: Fury Road, Max/Furiosa) You know this list wouldn't be complete without a smutty Maxiosa fic. It was really hard to pick one piece of the 127k smut novel I wrote about them in non-chronological order over the course of about 3 years (2015-2018). But Fightplay was definitely the start of writing uhhh a certain kind of dynamic for them. The prose is very spare and exacting in a way that I still find hot 9 years later.
Tagging @thebyrchentwigges, @thetardigrape, @nandamai, @bethagain, @demolitionwoman-blog and anyone else who wants to do this!
#fanfic#writing#dune#trust fx#mad max#mad max fury road#thanks for the tag nat!!!#i always take forever to do these things but i appreciate being included :-D

Creative Spotlight #2: Park Seonghwa
Masterlist
Intro: With so many new Atinys coming in, I figured now would be a good time to shed some light on all the boys' creative solo projects over the years, big and small.
ASMR
Lover of ASMR Seonghwa started his own ASMR series following a one-off video back in 2020:
youtube
Titled Mars ASMR, the series kicked off in 2020...
youtube
... with the most recent one being released 2 years ago:
youtube
In 2021, he also appeared on M2's K-Pop ASMR series, Tingle Interview, with Hongjoong (Seonghwa did a great job, of course, while Hongjoong tried his best... buddy was just a little lost sometimes):
youtube
youtube
Seonghwa was also featured on his favorite ASMR YouTuber's channel, Soy ASMR, with Wooyoung (once again, he did a great job - Wooyoung on the other hand kept trying not to laugh or seem weirded out until she brought out the snacks and told him eating could be an ASMR thing - then he was fully on board):
youtube
Imitation Soundtrack
While playing a smaller role, Seonghwa was also a part of the Imitation cast, together with Yunho, San, and Jongho, and thus a member of the fictional group Sparkling, which means we get to see him perform on several occasions throughout the show.
They toned down their actual skills significantly for the sake of looking like rookies on the show, but damn, if you were around at the time Imitation was airing, you'll know how iconic these songs were for the fandom (more on that on the other three's posts):
youtube
Cover Songs
Released in 2021, Seonghwa released a cover of Lauv's The Story Never Ends set to a vertical black and white video with the instrumental arranged by Hongjoong which was super clean and pretty and builds both instrumentally and vocally in the last third with layered harmonies:
youtube
In 2022, Seonghwa dropped a cover of Pink Sweat$'s At My Worst, recorded and mixed by Buddy, and sharing many baby pictures in the video since it was a birthday present for himself and us. It's a very cozy and sweet song:
youtube
Last year, he came back with Troye Sivan's Angel Baby, recorded and mixed by Maddox and arranged by Hongjoong:
youtube
The video has the vibe of getting brought along on Seonghwa’s travels while we get to listen to warm and comforting vocals. He's being very playful and cute throughout the clips, matching the cozy energy of the song. If you were looking for a comfort video on a draining day, this is it.
Fashion
Seonghwa made his Paris Fashion Week debut on September 27th, 2024, styled in designs by Isabel Marant the day after hinting at his appearance there via his Instagram stories. He's now the fourth Ateez member to participate in Fashion Week, alongside San, Hongjoong, and Wooyoung.
Pictures of his outfit were shared by him on his Instagram and his appearance was also included in the guest list reported on by Vogue since he was invited to "an intimate dinner Thursday night, [hosted by Isabel Marant], celebrating both the brand’s 30th anniversary and its first return to Los Angeles in ten years".
His outfit for the main show was now also posted on his Instagram.
On October 23rd, 2024, the Behind the Scenes video for his appearance here was released in the form of a half-hour vlog which kicks off in Korea before he heads on the plane.
While in the car in Paris, he tells us about how hard all the staff worked to ensure he'd be able to attend and make his dream come true, which includes the retelling of a conversation he had with the CEO of KQ (Ateez's dad) so, of course, Seonghwa had to imitate his voice as always:
As a proud member of "clothes have no gender" Ateez, we also get to see him make the conscious choice to wear something from the women's side of the collection (and we love him for it):
While in Paris, we get to see him talk to the staff, wear several unique outfits we've also seen on his Instagram before, and, finally, attend the show itself where he evidently had a lot of fun. The video ends in his hotel room where he expresses his gratitude to the members and Atiny in an emotional speech which was very sweet but also somewhat sad since he doesn't seem to fully acknowledge his own efforts:

Actually, sorry, I still don't see why TOTK is imperialistic. The imperialistic one does seem to be Ganon in his greed to conquer. I'm not saying I doubt your argumentsz just... Could you help me understand that?
Hey, yes! No problem at all. If that's okay with you, I'll compile my arguments in a series of links where I reply to previous asks.
Again, I want to reiterate that I don't think what we see in-game is secretely an imperialistic story about Rauru being a bad guy. We can speculate all we want, but there is no evidence in-world for Ganondorf to be anything other than a horrible baddie. My point is not that Ganondorf is secretely misunderstood in TotK, but that I believe Nintendo should have constructed its storytelling in a way that avoided falling into very loaded narrative patterns with real-life imperialistic echoes, and I am criticizing that they didn't try to deliver a version of Hyrule that gracefully accepted its own history, its influence over the world and its inherent moral grayness, instead of nervously scrubbing itself of substance out of fear of its own legacy.
This is the big one, that addresses the game's framing and why I think TotK's version of Hyrule parallels imperialist narrative movements.
This one talks about my problem with Rauru's character writing and what doesn't land for me.
This one is about why I don't think Nintendo is cackling about that good imperialist story they did, that it was probably accidental but still worth mentioning.
And this one, which I assume is the previous ask you sent me, adresses why I think saying that the zonais (and Sonia) are also PoC-coded kind of misses the point in my opinion.
Hope this clarifies my argument! I feel like, as the conversation matures in the fandom, this specific position (not talking for anyone else but me here) is getting kind of warped into something that it's not, or being conflated with the way people are creatively invested in the characters, which, while I certainly won't deny one obviously feeds off the other as far as I'm concerned*, are two separate things.
Again, it's completely fine to disagree! Or to agree and not be put off (everyone stop feeling guilty over the rare joy we manage to catch mid-flight --we can critique media without demanding people to Feel Bad as a result of the conclusions): it's a really fun game and I did play over a hundred hours! But I think the conversation is at least worth considering in a way that isn't caricatured as its weaker arguements.
*(to be very transparent so my own position is crystal clear, and it helps people making up their own mind: Ganondorf touches me as a character because of the way he inherently tries to fight against the limitations Hyrule/The Goddesses/the fiction itself try to force upon him --to devastating and unproductive results-- so the more his own canon tries to flatten him and the more poignant his character becomes to me. Won't deny that! It's this exact realization that made me spiral into hyperfocus to begin with --I am deeply touched by themes of tragic ambition and the impossibility of meaningful rebellion while STILL willingly burning everything down for the sake of refusing your place in the universe, even when the only thing accomplished by the end was the unflinching expression of your agency as well as General Suffering. So of course he would just catch me by the throat like that, that bastard. That being said, I don't think TotK Ganondorf (or any Ganondorf tbh) is a poor little meow meow, especially not in this game's canon where he is *obviously* nothing more than a threat to be stumped and doesn't ever meaningfully oppose you ideologically, which is kind of my problem. Even OoT Ganondorf, simplistic as he may be, questions Hyrule's inherent stability, inevitability and glory in many, many ways. Here's another, final post about why I liked the gerudos better in OoT despite All of The Problems, that partially addresses this exact point!)
#asks#thoughts#totk#totk critical#totk spoilers#ganondorf#rauru#when will my brain return from the imprisoning war....#thanks for the ask!#it actually allowed me to rassemble my points in a more digestible way so it's pretty neat#I feel like I forgot a couple of posts so maybe I'll add stuff back later#again while I think I'm right because I mean... I wouldn't invest that much typewriting in the whole thing otherwise#I'm completely fine with counterpoints and cordial disagreements#(as long as the counterpoints are not like huge mischaracterizations or understand that... I'm talking about the narrative framing)#(not the reality of Hyrule itself)#(I don't care about Hyrule itself it's not real!!!)#((I mean I care deeply but you understand me))

apologies as i do not like being negative on here, i prefer positivity and fun. but something ive been thinking about lately. You know, maybe i am just an old hat on the internet. I remember things like AOL, Going to newgrounds to play flash games, Old youtube layout, And i Remember Fanfiction.net (gosh this definitely shows my age). Ive been in the online space for many years, easily over fifteen years to say the least. And ive been in the fandom side of the internet for most of it, And i remember how delightful and fun it was growing up. Fandoms were fun, people did amazing art and wrote fanfictions and had fun. They shipped all kinds of characters and every ship under the sun was possible and ships from entirely different series. and nobody cared what you shipped, hell some of the most popular ships of the time were "problematic" and nobody cared. Because at the end of the day everyone knew fandom was just fun and games and playing pretend. we were all basically playing with dolls in our minds and it was fun. When did it become so hateful and aggressive? people attacking each other over fandom stuff that was the norm years ago? Before id see people shipping themselves with sailor moon and naruto and everyone would love it. We would see sasuke shipped with his brother in the naruto anime, or inuyasha (200 years old) and kagome (15 years old) being the main couple of the inuyasha anime and everyone loved it? Fandom was fun and people could do whatever they wanted because its fictional, nothing mattered and how you treated real life people was infinitely more important that what you did fiction wise because it didnt matter. fiction is fiction and people can do what they want in it? and if we didnt like it? (and there were things i didnt like) we just blocked and moved on, called em squicks and that was the end of it. But now? now fandom is such a violent hateful place. People are at each others necks because they like pixels in the wrong way, or like two sets of pixels kissing the wrong way. It turned from this fun place people could be creative and do there things and basically played pretend to this contest of Morals and ethics where if you did something people didnt like you will get torn apart and attacked. Have some of the worst accusations possible casually thrown at you like the person wasnt saying such awful things. Calling people awful things and accusing them of the most horiffic things. People are doxxing each other, ruining each others lives, stalking and harassing them over fiction...Fictional fandom stuff?! ive seen people say such violent, hateful, even racist things toward others for there taste in fiction? Fandom has gone from this fun welcoming place where people have fun and do what they want. Because we all knew that what you enjoyed in fiction wasnt an indicator of how you are as a real person in real life. I mean Horror movies are incredibly popular, including things such as saw where the focuss is gore and death and people being killed. does somebody who like saw movies want to actually murder people violently? no clearly not. I mean hell, Game of Thrones was the most popular show for years and it was jokingly known as the incest show. Does that mean the people who liked game of thrones are into incest? no absolutely not. But for some reason stuff you like in fandoms and shipping makes you a monster? this is a sad thing.
People who view shipping and fandom as ethics tests and morality tests and attack and tear down other people because they like things in fiction have ruined fandoms and made being in fandoms miserable and its why fandoms are nothing like they used to be. There much smaller and less active and the level of love and dedication in them is nothing like it used to be. because its full of violent hateful people that cant separate fiction from reality.
#fandom#fandom wank#it makes me sad to see#i wish fandom was how it was before#fun and not full of people trying to ruin each others lives#so much hate and stuff#i wish things were how they were in the past#if you attack people for fictional things#please leave#i want nothing to do with you

I truly don’t understand people who think Byler is going to be canon. This is nothing against people who ship Byler, because I absolutely see what would draw people towards that ship.
But some people genuinely think it’s going to happen in season 5 and that’s what I can’t wrap my head around. Stranger Things is a show written by, as far as we know, two straight men. It’s a mainstream show and it’s target audience is everyone from teens to adults. A large portion of this audience is going to be straight.
The Duffer brothers are probably patting themselves on the back for their excellent queer rep. They have two whole queer characters in the main cast. I think there’s a decent chance Robin will end up with Vickie, in which case we have three characters who are confirmed gay and one gay couple ending up happily together. The Duffer brothers have been at least exploring the fact that Will could be gay since season 1, when Joyce said that Lonnie used to call him gay slurs. They committed to it in season 4, but also in a very subtle way. Queer audiences saw this coming years ago. I rewatched season 4 with my parents and had to explain to them that Will was crushing on Mike. (I straight-up said those words and they said, “you mean… he likes Eleven?”). Straight audiences are not picking up on some Will/Mike love story. And yes, I don’t think Mileven was super well-written in Season 4. But that’s a problem with the writing itself, not proof that the Duffer brothers don’t intend for Mileven to be endgame.
Also, Mike is arguably The Main Character. Especially with how he was framed in S1. Modern shows might make one (or several) main characters or series regulars queer to show how inclusive they are and appeal to queer audiences. But I truly don’t believe we’re at a point where you can make the main character queer without alienating straight audiences (especially if your fan base is not just younger people). Maybe that’s cynical of me, but I think people want to watch shows with queer representation but that aren’t Queer Shows. And that’s what Stranger Things would be if Byler happened, because both Will and Mike (two of the main leads) would be queer and together.
Even if the Duffer brothers wanted to make Byler happen from a creative perspective (which I seriously doubt), it would be a terribly marketing move. I just don't believe we live in a world (at least yet) where predominately straight audiences want to watch shows with large gay casts. (Of course there are exceptions, but I'm speaking in generalities). So while I totally think there's space for Byler in fan fiction and that it's a fascinating dynamic to explore, it bewilders me that people think it's going to happen for real. I think this comes from being in fandom spaces and/or interacting mostly with queer people.
The majority of the world isn't the fandom and also isn't queer. We're still years away from a time where a hugely successfully, mainstream money-maker like Stranger Things can make two of its main characters queer and in love.
I adore the world y'all are living in though. I don't think we're there -- but I hope some day we will be.
Addendum because I wrote this quickly: I also think Mike/Eleven are a really important relationship that is central to the show. That's not to say that Will and Mike aren't, because I do think they have one of the closest friendships on the show and that there's something special about their bond. But the show, from the beginning, has centered around Mike and El as the protagonists for the kids' generation. Their love for each other and trust in each other has been a huge characteristic of both Mike and El and a huge driving force for the plot. They haven't adequately set up a pivot from that central relationship, and I don't think they could do it in the final season without doing a disservice to the past four seasons, but especially to El, who is the center of this whole show.

don't really know what I'm writing or why but it's 0350am and I'm sitting in bed unable to get back to sleep having a weird slight panic
idk whether I'm feeling a bit of a writing slump because I know that the dead should stay dead still has quite a way to go and some part of me worries that by the time I've gotten at the very least to the next big plot point a lot of people may very well have lost interest in the fandom
like I know it's silly because there's probably always going to be some sort of fandom around BJTM but this little community means so much to me and has meant so much to me during a really difficult and life altering time, I mean for gods sake I started writing fics to try to figure out my own meltdowns
plus at this point I really have no other strong interests, idk maybe I'll get super into Doctor Who again with the specials and the new series starting but I've really gone hard on the One Interest
I really love the last few chapters of the dead should stay dead but it's felt a bit different writing them. maybe it's because I feel a little guilty spending whole days on chapters when I've got so much that I need to do for work (I know it sounds sad but there's exams, portfolio etc), plus I'd really like to give writing original fiction another go
there's also that gnawing fear that the fandom is going to like... vanish, which again is probably not true in its entirety but once the tour ends I can see some people falling off or finding another thing
also people leaving or drifting away from the fandom is a completely okay thing to do I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad if that's what they want to do
it's also not to say that people are obliged to engage with or comment on my fics or hell even read them, of course no one *has to* do anything in fandom it's a bunch of people just having fun
I know I should just write for my own fun and enrichment but external validation is nice, okay? plus these past few weeks the external validation and thinking 'no, I want to write this for the people who are reading the fic and want to know what happens next' have been big motivators
my main motivator used to be this absolutely unstoppable creative drive and love for the show and it's characters (which is still there, I'm unfortunately going to love this silly show until the day I die I think) but this past week I've found that I'd rather study for my work exams than spend time writing a few paragraphs
if I cool it off a little with the frequency of chapter updates it'll probably be a net good for me, I really need to buckle down and get these exams passed, I need to start actually engaging in planning my career because I think in my head I've been thinking I might get a book published one day and as a result I've been sort of half neglecting the actual really decent career I've got
but also my mental health is so much better, I've mostly healed from a lot of my late diagnosed autistic trauma, plus work is actually quite good right now?
maybe more of my writing for BJTM fics was motivated by being mentally ill than I originally thought, and maybe I don't *need* to write fics anymore but I want to and I want to still love writing fics as much as I did back when I was having that difficult time, where it was a huge personal comfort to be able to write Beej having a hard time in very specific ways and have other people comfort him
I have said to my husband that I'll probably cool it with the fics once I've finished the dead should stay dead and am going to focus my creative energy on something original to see where that goes but there's still so much to go on the dead should stay dead..
that silly little fic has become like my baby, I want to write it all, flesh out the characters before the next Big Thing happens, I want to do my ideas justice but I also want to make sure there are people still in the fandom to read it once I get to that point
again I'm super tired it's the middle of the night and I'm rambling, I don't want to imply that anyone reading this should carry on reading something they don't enjoy, and I don't even think the number of people reading the fic has even gone down, I've just woken up this morning full of dread for the fandom changing because, fandom and interests wise, BJTM is kind of all I've got right now.
I didn't really belong to a fandom for years after BBC Sherlock ended and I realised while watching the 4th series that it wasn't that good there was just a very passionate fan base and that's what I likes (I know, I know), BJTM was the first thing I got really into for ages and the first thing I got really into while figuring out what it was that I got *really into* stuff (autism)
obviously no one has to stick around in a fandom for the benefit of a silly autistic fanfic author whos terrified of change, and please, please don't think that's what I'm implying or what I want
ughh idk what I'm even writing, I should probably just reach out more to people but doing that is scary without the buffer of a fic
I should also probably invest more time in doing stuff irl but I know that no hobby gives me the joy that writing gives me, like when I'm really vibing with something there really are few better things for me than being safe at home and writing
also maybe I should try to get into some other stuff but I don't really want to but equally I know the BJTM fandom isn't going to last forever I just.... 🙃
the silly musical and the silly community that has sprung up around it and making art and writing fics for it has saved me in so many ways I'm just scaaarrreedddd (and also tired and typing this at 4am so I might be being dramatic for nothing, plus I know I struggle with assuming any fleeting emotion is going to last forever, maybe I'll feel different in a weeks time idk)
anyway I'm going to try to get a little bit more sleep because I've got to be up for work at 6 for my actual grownup job that I should probably pay more attention to
(this is also totally not some way to subtly say I'm not going to finish the dead should stay dead BTW, I love that fic and I'm proud of what it is and what I've got planned for it, so to the people who are still reading please don't worry 💜)
#beetlejuice#personal#I'm genuinely not trying to be passive aggressive at anyone or whining to make people interact with me#Like really genuinely people need to do what they want and what makes them happy#I'm just scared of falling out of the fandom#and Im equally scared of sticking around and being the only one left because I was too stubborn to find other interests#beetlejuice broadway#beetlejuice the musical

10 books
Rules: 10 books for people to get to know you better, or that you just really like.
Tagged by @lyriclorelei and oh boy did I end up going on a lot about these picks!
The Monster at the End of this Book by Jon Stone - I was so extremely a Sesame Street-raised child. This book taught me about meta humor and histrionics, both of which I adore in my media today.
Maida’s Little Shop by Inez Hayes Gilmore - This is a book my grandmother read as a girl, and then my mother read as a girl, and then I got to read. It’s about a rich and sick girl who leaves her family to start a shop (with adult supervision) and finally makes friends. It taught me about pig latin and popcorn balls. (Also, turns out the author was a feminist journalist, so we love that.)
Meet Samantha by Susan S. Ader - I promise I didn’t just read books about wealthy girls from the turn of the century as a child! But I did get HEAVILY sucked in by the American Girl dolls, and I’ve gotten pulled right back as a pandemic comfort coping mechanism. Re-reading this book, I realized it influenced my creative writing, my sense of justice, and my understanding of how to be a good friend.
The Realm of Possibility by David Levithan - As a teenager, this book of interconnected poems from different characters let me feel like I was listening in on a full school’s worth of teenage issues and feelings. It taught me compassion; it let me feel less alone.
As You Like It by William Shakespeare - Seeing this play in college might have been when I fell in love with plays (I’d say theater, but I was sold on musicals by age 8). It’s more or less where my fake dating obsession starts. Give me a ship this messy any day.
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro - This book is SO SAD and SO BEAUTIFUL and I’m glad I watched the movie to stay in the world a little bit longer. My Andrew Garfield and Carey Mulligan obsessions are due to this book.
Angels in America by Tony Kushner - Another sprawling obsession: I saw the HBO series, I immediately borrowed a copy of the play(s), I bought my own copy of the play, I saw the play(s) in real life, I saw the play(s) filmed for National Theater Live. Now I’m gearing up for another round of obsession when I read the oral history sitting on my bookshelf. I love these characters, the magical realism, the real-life people mixed with fictional ones, and the hope in the ending.
A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan - This book helped me realize I LOVE linked short stories that share a variety of perspectives. (In creating this list, I’m seeing just how many books I love are proof of that!) I’ve read other favorites, like Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi and There There by Tommy Orange, because this book taught me I loved this genre. Also, it has a chapter that’s just powerpoint slides? LOVE that.
The Wicked + The Divine comics by Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie - This comic is so well thought-out that random lines and visuals in the first issue reference the plot points of the last. A comic series about fandom, power, mythology, and inspiration. Plus, a murder mystery! I enjoyed every issue, even the one that really, honestly, had too much gore for my liking.
The Lady’s Guide to Celestial Mechanics by Olivia Waite - This was the book that got me into romance novels, which would have been enough of a gift on its own! But in addition to being a wonderful intro to the genre, it stars two women who are passionate about their work (though that work is very different), a romance plot that is people-focused instead of circumstance, and a thesis about who writes history and why notable women’s legacies are willfully erased by the patriarchy. A great, gorgeous read.

FAQs
What is The Femslash Wishlist?
The Femslash Wishlist will be an online community where we can share our fave femslash fics we wish would be made into movies or tv/streaming shows.
What can we do on The Femslash Wishlist?
There will be 3 basic things + 1 potential thing we could do:
1. Post the plot of your fave femslash fic that you wish would be made into a movie or a series (with the consent and approval of the fic author and the link to the fic) 2. Upvote other story plots posted that you would also want to watch as films or series 3. Discover other great femslash fics outside your fandom/s + 4. Help turn a fic (or even just chapter or a scene of a fic) into a short film with 'original characters', instead of the canon characters they were based off
How do we to turn a fic into a short film?
First, fic author consent and approval is MANDATORY. Without it, we cannot turn a fic into watchable content, let alone share its plot on the femslash wishlist. The team will contact the fic author to ensure we have their consent before its plot gets posted on the site.
Second, we need a large consensus on which stories we want to turn into a short film, which is why it would be important to upvote. The idea is for the community to grow large enough to show that there is a robust audience for the stories to entice creatives into joining the community and turning the stories into short films.
Third, we could help fund the film, either through commission or sponsorship. Tiered sponsorship = tiered premium membership, which means gaining more access to the project/s from pre- to post-production discussions to exclusive bts/deleted scenes content.
What happens when a story does get made into a short film?
At this time, the idea is to post the short film on youtube for a wider reach and to generate ad revenue, which means residuals for the filmmakers and the fic author. Other launch options would depend on the creative team who will take on the project and should be up for discussion.
Does the fic author retain copyright?
Yes, the filmmakers will essentially be adapting the fic author's story.
The one who shares the plot on the femslash wishlist is simply describing a story that already exists.
Will The Femslash Wishlist earn money?
At this time, the idea is to rely on ad revenues to be able to maintain (or grow) the site and to keep the site free for all users. However, registration will be required.
Why The Femslash Wishlist?
@freshtilapia is required to submit a business plan for her Entrepreneurship postgraduate class on 15th October 2023. The business plan can be fictional but needs to be something she cares about. And she cares about getting more quality wlw content.
There's not enough quality wlw content with happy endings. Most of our fave fics have happy endings.
We all likely wished at one point or another to be able to watch our fave fics, instead of just reading them. A film adaptation of the fic may not have the actors we hope would star in it, but we would get to see it play out on screen.
A tumblr anon asked @freshtilapia back in 2011 if she could have a fanfic made into a movie, which would it be? Twelve years later, here we are.
At the very least, The Femslash Wishlist would be a borderless ficrec page. At most, we could really see our fave fics come to life.

Do you prefer writing one-shots or multi-chaptered fics? - One-shots
Do you plan each chapter ahead or write as you go? - depends
Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic - talking to myself a lot/daydreaming + writing it roughly down - trying to make it into something presentable - edit
Where do you find inspiration for new ideas? - spite
Do you like constructive criticism? - yes!
Do you have your work beta'd? How important is this to your process? - would love to have a beta but no
How do you choose which POV to write from? - coolest POV wins
Do you prefer the beginning, middle, or end of a story? - middle
Do you comment on stories you read? - yes, the ones I like and on the ones I think have great potential
Name your three favorite fics right now - The Lemonade Leak by TurtleSoupSwimmer; No Rest For The Weary by Nekotsuki; Cass apocalyptic series
how does receiving or not receiving feedback/support impact you? love feedback and it makes me generally write faster, no feedback is okay too, but I tend to lose interest in a fandom when the community is inactive
what’s a common writing tip that you almost always follow? I use paragraphs and grammarly
how do you write emotional scenes? Do you ever feel what the characters feel? Do you draw from personal experiences? - love indulging in my own sadness and project it to fictional characters
How do you write smut scenes? Do you get very visual or detailed? How important is it to be realistic? - uhm, yes
How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them? - 42, the apocalypse is the worst case scenario for all of them, in order to gain the power to protect his family Mikey has to leave them and slowly becomes a stranger...
What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block) - I stop writing
Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles? - before, I have a list of titles I want to use and as long as they loosely fit the theme I don’t mind if its not a perfect match
What is your most-used tag on your ao3? - Hurt/Comfort
Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc? - yes, it drives me nuts, there are so many words out there why do I always end up using the same?

Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc) - yes, not a fan of insert reader

What fic do you wish you got more of a response on? - My Percy Jackson stuff (Chasing Shadows) - like I had a lot of ideas and loved the characters, but I kinda felt alone and it was hard to continue writing without someone reading. Now I am at a point were I don’t remember what I planed and am not that interested in the protagonists anymore...
Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride? - Heroes and Villains. I wrote this when I was bored out of my mind during my theoretical lessons to become a nurse. It was really fun and the pacing I had going still scares and amazes me...

On average, how much writing do you get done in a day? - that differs greatly
What’s your revision or editing process like? - post the chapter first and edit later (I have no patience). It helps me during editing when I can read it on ao3 or else I have to print it. Also it’s not such a big deal since I mostly write one-shots
Do you share rough drafts or do you wait until it’s all polished? - no polishing for me, but you don’t want to know what my ‘rough drafts’ look like...

What mistakes do you keep making no matter how many times your beta corrects you? - writing in past tense and adding another embedded sentence that has a verb with an -ing in it
Do you want to break your readers‘ heart or make them laugh? - both (and if I am really good I do it simultaneously)
How would you describe your style? (Character/emotion/action-driven, etc) - depends
How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting? - not so many 4-5 times... I am mostly glad it’s out... editing comes later when I have more distance towards it (aka when deleting a sentence did not feel like erasing a part of my soul)

What order do you write in? front of book to back? chronological? favorite scenes first? something else? - depends, if I am motivated front to back... and if not favorite scenes
What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works? - nothing
You’ve posted a fic anonymously. How would someone be able to guess that you’d written it? - this is a really mean question... and makes me feel rather insecure about my writing style
What scene in took the longest to write? What was difficult about it? - Cracks in the Mirror, Storm in a Teacup - Part 3, Leo’s drowning scene. Cause I knew what it feels like, and what the mood supposed to be was but the words kept on failing me
Did you have any ideas that didn’t make the final cut? - not that many. I stop when I am satisfied. everything not used goes into the ‘scene folder’ and gets eventually recycled in another project
Do you have a favorite scene you’ve written? BTL/Oblivium - Part 1, its rare for me to go to such dark places emotionally while writing... but it was fun in the ‘what have I done’ kind of way

Okay, Im pretty sure Ive reached the point at which I originally stopped watching so. yay
To celebrate this occasion I thought I should talk a little about some of the complaints Ive seen about the finale in my for you tab because yeah, I just cant resist looking at it so Ive been spoiled pretty severely and also been dealt a good amount of psychic damage. But hey, its about the journey, not the destination and Im already in Advanced Therapy for my mental illnesses anyway
The two most complaints Ive seen are, it wasnt cathartic and it sends a terrible message. Now, I cant comment on the catharsis bc I havent watched it yet and also Im not even sure if that would be a deal breaker for me. Like, anti-climaxes can be very powerful, Schlatts death is one of my favorite moments in the entire dsmp düfor that exact reason. But that all depends on the execution so I'll save my more detailed thoughts for after Ive actually watched it
The complaint that I wanted to talk about in more detail now is the one about it 'sending a terrible message'
I spend a lot of time watching and analyzing kids shows specifically on the basis of "is this a good show for kids?" Like, kids will watch anything you put in front of them bc they dont know any better so I think its important to put something in front of them that encourages creativity, critical thinking and sends messages of compassion good and other things I cant think of off the top of my head. When analyzing kids shows like this its very important to keep that target demographic in mind because what kids like and need is often different from what teens and adults would consider well-written and thats fine. Theres plenty of kids media that can be enjoyed by teens and adults as well, but its perfectly fine for kids media to only cater to kids and even be actively boring for older demographics.
Keeping the fact that kids media should be analyzed differently than more mature media because its written differently, I dont think it controversial of me to say that, unlike kids media, media for teens and adults doesnt need to teach anything. The way I see it, kids media has messages while adult media has themes. Obviously theres a bit more nuance to this, but Im not trying to write an essay here, Im trying to complain about fandom shit
And I know this might be a hard pill to swallow for some people bc this is the internet where 7 year olds and 17 year olds are basically the same because theyre both "minors" with absolutely no nuance, but teenagers arent children and theyre not so impressionable that seeing a character in a minecraft roleplay be sympathetic towards their abuser is gonna suddenly make them forgive their own abusers if they didnt want to do that before or make them blind or to IRL abuser or whatever man, I dont even really know what exactly the concern is. Like, idk how to tell you this but the line between fiction and reality is not that thin and if the media someone consumes affects them that much theyre either very young or there are some underlining issues that storytellers are not obligated to account for.
Not to mention that dsmp is a story told from a bunch of different perspectives by a bunch of unreliable narrators who are all varying levels of shitty. Like, in kids shows the protagonists and the non-anatgonist supporting characters are role models and vehicles to teach messages, that doesnt fucking apply here, theyve literally made jokes about everyone being an unreliable narrator i dont know why anyone would think this is the kind of series where theyre actively trying to impart some kind of lesson, its literally Fucked Up Shit Happens feat, Fucked Up People: The Minecraft Roleplay
To end this weird long rant, Id like to say that I do understand why people would be upset with the ending (from the details I was able to gleam anyway) and as much as I think complaining about the 'bad message' is invalid and frankly kindof weird, being upset is still totally fine and valid.
Also, if you'd like to discuss this with me I'd appreciate it if you didnt spoil me any further. Like yeah, I already know the broad strokes but I'd still like to have a semi-'organic' experience watching this yknow
Anyway, have a nice day

Fics and AUs Masterpost
Hey there folks, this is where you can find stuff in the Stash. Not everything I’ve posted will be here, just works that are larger, that I’m fond of, or at least I think aged rather well.
Sorted by fandom (original fiction stuff will get its own post once more is ready), and then series. Multichapters will have a wordcount.
Mostly a mix of A Hat In Time, Amphibia, Promare, Brave Animated (Netflix), Fire Emblem, and other fandoms I’ve not done more than one fic for.
A Hat in Time
Beingverse (AU Tag) -WC: 97,671 -Status: Complete -Masterpost. Divided into main fics of the series, meta/worldbuilding posts, and fanart/fanfic of the series made by others. Take a look at it! -Summary: When Snatcher stealing Hat Kid’s soul goes sideways, they’re stuck in her body, while her unmoored soul rampages as it possesses Snatcher’s own vessel. They need to set things right- if they can work together, that is. They grow closer in their adventures, including realizing that there is something far stranger to Snatcher than existing as a mere ghost. -Lots of worldbuilding, found family of the brotherly Snatcher variety, and the more you learn of the titular Beings, including one of our main characters, the more you see why the AU is named for them. -Note: Beings are an original species, and while they bear a significant role in this au, they are meant for original fiction/novel format that’s currently in-progress. Please bear this in mind when it comes to creative credit.
The Thirteenth Crusade (AU Tag) -WC: 94,315 -Status: Complete -Summary: Classic low-fantasy AU. Mu wishes to destroy the Mafia occupying her home island and terrorizing the townfolk, and will go so far as to ally with a dragon- one of mankind’s enemies from the Crusaders’ War seven centuries past- whose soul is trapped in a book in order to do so. Snatcher, for his part, just wants his body back, so he can find a child that was long lost to him during the war. -Art from: rindomness, abstractbabble, lemonadesoda, ruthlesslistener
Dwelling of the Ancient Gods: -Status: Oneshot, complete. -Summary: The Twilight Bell is a trap, and it’s alive. Hat Kid meets a part of it. Kind of a precursor/test phase to Beingverse concepts, you’ll find the first explanations of Beings here.
Fear and Fable, All The Time That Passes: -Status: Oneshots, complete. -Summary: A pair of oneshots for @/doodledrawsthings “coffee shop” au. First up is Luka’s late night forest stroll that ends with some hikers getting the scare of their lives- if not from him. Second is the trio finally having a successful ‘date night’ now that they know their friend isn’t exactly human.
Love Language: -Status: Oneshot, complete. -Summary: For @/lemonadesoda’s Hide and Seek verse! The translation software goes on the fritz for a bit, so Hat Kid and her adopted parents bond by learning each others’ native tongues.
Duality: -Status: Oneshot, complete -Summary: A noncanon crossover of Beingverse and @/toxic-lavender’s au. Snatcher and Hat Kid get lost. Super lost.
Amphibia
Theophagy: -WC: 21,235 -Status: Complete -Summary: Marcy kills the Core while it’s still in her head. There are... consequences. Some good, some bad, some unknowable and strange. -Art from: curseoftheduck

Automata Theory (AU Tag) -WC: Who knows at this point lol. Big -Status: In progress -Summary: During the Core’s upload into a new host, something goes drastically wrong for it, and Marcy escapes. Just... not in the way one would think.
Down Below (AU Tag) -WC: 36k -Status: Complete -Summary: Down in the tunnels underneath Newtopia, hunted by the Night, Sasha has a bad time. Psychological horror au diverging from True Colors, with inspiration from the pre-s3 speculation about The Night. Co-parenting this au with @midnightcrossroads- go check him out! -Art from: curseoftheduck, marcyminmin (link 1, link 2), calamitykiller
Catachresis -WC: 30k -Status: Complete -Summary: Three human children vanish from a park in Los Angeles, and there is no trace or written runaway note to be found. Three warm-blooded monsters appear in Amphibia, and nobody can understand what they're saying. Language barrier au. -Art from: Vryfmi (character sheets, basement union, comic), brushbanditarts
Deed Forborne -WC: 23k -Status: Complete -Summary: The invasion forces depart for Earth before the resistance can reach them, leaving them stranded on Amphibia and their enemies out of reach. Weeks later, Marcy Wu opens her eyes to see her home planet for the first time in months. AU focused Marcy on Earth and the Boonchuy parents. -Art from: curseoftheduck
Scenic Route -WC: 18k -Status: Complete -Summary: Sasha and Grime manage to rescue Marcy and use the Calamity Box as an escape route... But it doesn’t exactly have GPS, so they end up dropped in the middle of Bumfuck Nowhere, TX. Sasharcy-focused, canon-divergent.
A Light for Dead Men -WC: 4,878 -Status: Complete -Summary: Sasha picks up Barrel's Warhammer. She also picks up a hanger-on in the process. Ghost Barrel AU, with Barrel forced to come to terms about his past and Sasha forced to come to terms about her future. Zine fic for Amphibia’s Greatest Treasure. -Art by: jackdaw
Promare
Day One Dark: -WC: 50,876 -Status: Complete -Summary: Hundred Years AU- The Great World Blaze occurred a century ago, rather than thirty years ago. Before a Freeze Force Detention breakout, the mole died, so the escape is untrackable. While the Promepolitians are left to investigate Kray’s crimes on their own, half an ocean away the the rest of the world looks for a solution to the impending global eruption.
Nature’s Dragons: -Status: Oneshot, complete -Summary: Zine piece. An article on the post-Second-Blaze volcano watchers taking over the care of Mt. Fennel.
Send the Scourge, Send the Swarm: -Status: Twoshot, complete -Summary: Lio breaks out of Fennel a few hours too late, and Parnassus is already in the air.
Fall like Fire: -WC: 5,879 -Status: Complete -Summary: Thyma lives fic. That’s all you need to know.
Murder Drones
Falls as from Heaven: -WC: 17,547 -Status: 3 out of 5 fics posted, 2 out of 5 fics in progress. -Summary: An AU series set in and written within the mindset of episode 1 only. Centers around Queerplatonic N/Uzi, Disassembly Drone headcanons, both in behavior/physiology and origin, and character development. -Art by: mithrilduck
Fourth Law: -WC: 10,915 -Status: Complete -Summary: Speculative AU following the gala massacre, focused on the survival of Tessa and the three remaining manor drones, as well as their eventual fates.
The Hand That Feeds: -WC: 5,224 -Status: Complete. -Summary: The world ended, but Tessa... didn’t. Set right after Tessa’s flaying, and loosely follows the series timeline up until the (speculative, as this was written before the finale) end. Heavy on the gore and horror, please read the tags. -Art by: Marcyminmin (contains spoilers!)
Fire Emblem
Witness the Death of Winter: -Status: Oneshot, complete -Summary: It's the nature of people to help those in need, and to seek help when they need it. Dimitri, after escaping from Fhirdiad, only does so once.
The Fortress that Walks: -Status: Oneshot, complete. -Summary: Outsider POV of the March to Deliverance. Mycen gets yelled at and it’s very satisfying.
In Loco Parentis: -Status: Twoshot, complete -Summary: Trying to wrench the outrealms into some semblance of logic in order to show parts of Shigure growing up.
Brave Animated Series (Netflix)
Death and Taxes: -WC: 14700 -Status: Complete -Summary: In the immediate aftermath of Morewant’s crowning, there are many adjustments to be made. And that’s not even considering the growing army on the demons’ doorstep.
Principle of Least Time: -WC: -Status: Currently posting -Summary: After a slip-up with Desire Queen’s cave crystals, Dragon Brave and Chief Brave end up in a vision of the fateful night where Morewant began his reign. However, this vision is quite strange in other ways...
Others/One-offs
Where the Sword Was Covered and Dust Had Grown: -WC: 19,751 -Status: Complete -Summary: Long ago, two kings killed one another for the throne. At the Pokemon League, thousands of years and a lifetime later, two kings faced each other for a throne. Pokemon BW Gameverse. Reincarnation AU with Hilda and N as the original brother-kings, set in the postgame.
Time Overworn/Poor Hospitality: -WC: 5,400 -Status: Oneshot series, complete but open to new installments. -Summary: Kill la Kill fics, heavy on headcanons about Life Fiber hybrid physiology. Time Overworn: The month after Honno Town’s fall, from the perspective of two people watching over a comatose Ryuko. Poor Hospitality: Due to Mr Mankanshoku harvesting organs from the wrong patient, the household experiences their first break-in since Ryuko moved in with them.
Doodliest Catch: -WC: 2,577 -Status: Oneshot, complete -Summary: Dungeons and Daddies, a coda to season 2 episode 39 written after it came out. So, your new friend managed to manifest themself into a form that isn’t big enough to swallow planets, even if just looking at their shifting reflections of your most deeply-buried anxieties is enough to give you a bit of a migraine. Now what?

Hello. Just curious how chapter 3 of Dowry is coming along and when to look for it. I’ve been really sad about recent Kanthony news (possibly no s3 subplot, no Emmy noms for Jimone) and need my comfort fic more than ever lol :(
aiming to have it posted by this weekend! a return to kate pov, my beloved :D.
i'm sorry you're feeling down about kanthony!
this may not be what you want to hear, but bridgerton isn't exactly the type of content emmy voters look for when nominating their favorite shows. it's frilly froth meant to entertain, nothing more, and this season's story was frankly an incoherent mess saved solely by the chemistry and performances of the two leads. in my humble opinion, it was really engaging, but it wasn't good television, at least not in the classical sense.
now, personally, i think JB did a fantastic job and deserved a nod, but it was a stacked board this season. i mean, succession won 7/12 nominations allotted for guest actors in drama series and a total of 25 nominations overall. that's insane (well, well-deserved, it's a beast of a show, but still). they clearly have their preferences.
but here's the thing: emmy nominations are not the final arbiters of taste. these guys nominated TBBT for YEARS (a show whose writers routinely relied on casual misogyny and jim parsons rattling off the periodic table for laughs) and paid dust to brooklyn 99, bojack horseman, the wire, the office, freaks and geeks (OK, it only ran for a season, but it was a brilliant fucking season, alright?), etc, etc.
so don't feel guilty for liking something because it's not as "highbrow" or critically acclaimed as shows touted in variety or the a.v. club. bridgerton's failure to garner many nominations is nothing but a reflection of the fact that emmy voters simply didn't like the show enough to nominate it. that's it. but for the general audience, season 2 was of major interest! we can see that looking at netflix's streaming stats. in sum, the show is not in danger of being canceled, we will still see bits and bobs of kanthony in the future (even if JB books new shows, as he should), and your favorite actors will go on to have great careers in which you'll have plentiful opportunity to see them on the screen to your heart's content. not having emmy noms is not a big deal, especially for show of bridgerton's caliber and appeal.
and, another, very, very humble opinion of mine:
in my experience, if a show is visually and technically perfect, i won't be motivated to write for it. because the story is finished. it was emotionally satisfying, it was done well. i'm the breed of writer who writes out of rage, who views fanfic as the ultimate 'fuck you' letter to the production of a show that has lost its way. i did not like season 2 - it had some great elements, but overall, the story for me felt unfinished. that's why i'm in the fandom, to read and write about kanthony getting the ending and character development they deserve. a lot of these highbrow shows that have been nominated will more often than not have a different type of fandom, one where fans are more likely to engage in iterative activities (what was your favorite episode, rank your favorite characters, etc.) as compared to transformative activities (as in rage-writing fix-it fanfiction). in my view, season 2's terrible creative decisions did result in a lot of fan engagement with kanthony as a ship. the lack of good content and desire for more is what prompts creators to create. that's a good thing!
imo, we've got a fantastic fictional couple, amazing fans, brilliant writers in the fandom, and enough spite to keep us churning out content for YEARS. so don't worry yet about the kanthony well drying up. we're doing just fine.
i hope this rant makes you feel somewhat better, anon. clearly, i had some feelings to get out as well. :D

We can all agree we did not see “Creepy Luz” coming. It was originally a theory created by It’s Rebecca Rose from figuring out who sent the letters. Turns out it was an actual double of Luz who is now impersonating her in the Human Realm. There is little to be known about this unknown person so for now they will be dubbed “Creepy Luz”. All we know is they have been sending letters to Camila since summer camp (which explains why Camila was so calm and happy during the texts), identical to Luz, and are impersonating her to take over her life. There are a few possibilities as to what Creepy Luz might be.
1) Doppelganger
Doppelgangers are unbiological and unrelated doubles of a living person. It’s translation from its original German meaning is “double-walker”. In folklore, myths, and fictions doppelgangers are seen as harbingers of bad luck, evil twin/self, or an alter ego. A doppelganger is an exact copy of the original person and even has the same feelings, experiences, and emotions. Basically nothing good comes from a doppelganger. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doppelg%C3%A4nger explains more about doppelgangers. If you read the link you will notice a common theme in fiction, media, and folklore: a doppelganger is the double of a person with ill intent. Creepy Luz could be a doppelganger either from a rift in another world or from the Boiling Isles. If this is true, from how ominous Creepy Luz is, their reason for impersonating Luz will come with bad intentions. In the Camila clip in the trailer, we see red lines connecting to a newspaper clipping of a hooded figure with a staff and a key. We initially thought it was Camila looking for her daughter, but what if it’s Creepy Luz either trying to find their way back to the Boiling Isles? Would be counterintuitive as they want to impersonate Luz but we don’t really know why. Dana did mention she loved the “evil doppelganger theory” but kept it quiet probably for this reason (respect for keeping the secret so well). Now there are holes in this such as how did this doppelganger come into existence (probably magic but by whom?), their reasoning for going back to the Boiling Isles, how does Creepy Luz sound mechanical if they are an exact copy, and why Luz since she went to the Boiling Isles by accident.
2) Changeling
Changelings are human-like creatures (usually fairies but not exclusively) that have been left in place of a human stolen by fairies. In folklore, changelings are usually switched from sickly or underdeveloped newborns and either stay with the human family or return to the realm of magic. There are rare instances where changelings do switch with grown humans (usually for marital reasons or for nurturing the young). Sometimes a changeling does not know they are one and usually exhibit unusual behavior when left alone. However, there are some instances where they do know about their identity and want to return to their fairy family. Sometimes the human child switched will also stay with the fairy family. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Changeling explains more about changelings. Creepy Luz being a changeling could be likely. It is not impossible for a changeling to switch with someone after childhood and their reasoning could be outside of marital and nurturing reasons such as wanting a family of their own or just messing with Luz. Like their name, they can change into a human and be a copy of the one they wish to impersonate. It does not mean they can copy their experiences, feelings, or emotions which would explain why the letters looked mechanical and the misspelling of Luz. However, they are trapped in the Human Realm and from the Camila clip in the trailer may be trying to find their way back; they know their identity as a changeling and want to go back to the Boiling Isles. Interestingly, changeling folklore is theorized to be derived from children who were born underdeveloped or abnormally (deformed, disabled, or neurodivergent). In autistic culture, some adults have identified with changelings for this reason and for feelings of being in a world where they do not belong and not being the same species as others around them. The creator confirmed Luz is neurodivergent and I would not be surprised if the team made Creepy Luz a changeling because of the history and folklore behind them. Only holes in this theory are why they chose Luz, how they were able to impersonate her so well, and how much of a copy is Creepy Luz to Luz.
3) Shapeshifter
Shapeshifters are beings that can physically transform their bodies at will through inherent ability, divine intervention, magic or sorcery, demonic manipulation, or spells. Shapeshifters mostly shift into animal forms in folklore, myths, media, and literature. But that does not mean there are stories of shifting into human forms. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shapeshifting explains more about shape shifting. Usually done with animals turning into people but the myths/powers of shapeshifters is very flexible in fiction. It wouldn’t be far off for Creep Luz to be a shapeshifter. Probably a creature from the Boiling Isles who saw Luz and decided to shift into her, has some ill intentions or other reasons for stealing/impersonating her life, and used the summer camp to learn human culture. However, this only implies there are shapeshifters that can turn into humans, why impersonate humans to begin with, and how long they can hold out.
4) Clone
An interesting theory out there is Creepy Luz is a clone of Luz. Both in fiction and reality, clones are exact copies of an object, organic and/or man made. In fiction, a clone is usually copying a person for either experiments, research, labor/army force, or to extend one’s life span through another. In this case, it seems cloning Luz is for another plan outside those reasons. Since Creepy Luz went to summer camp, there is a theory that the camp cloned Luz. In the beginning of the series, Eda explained that folklore and myths are caused by leaks from the Boiling Isles. Although rare, like humans coming to the Boiling Isles, it could be possible for residents from the Boiling Isles to slip into the Human Realm. Maybe a creature from the Boiling Isles was able to clone Luz from their magic and has some reason for doing so. However, there are holes in that theory such as reasons for a camp doing that, how they would clone Luz when she never went, and no information on said camp. If Creepy Luz is a clone, it was most likely done by some type of magic in the Boiling Isles. It could be from someone who has watched Luz for a while or it just happened out of nowhere. This theory does not have much merit as clones are usually scientific (Belos does use technology but doesn’t know about Luz until coming to the Boiling Isles) and there is no one who would want to clone Luz besides the camp or Belos/other magic organization. Still worth mentioning at least since Creepy Luz was already a surprise to us.
5) Another Creature Entirely/ Non-Existent
Creepy Luz could be an entirely different creature all together. “The Owl House '' does take some of the residents from folklore in fantasy genres and ancient mythology but there have been creatures who are unique in the show (Tiny Nose, Warden Wrath, Grometheus, Hooty, etc). Creepy Luz could be a new creature from the Boiling Isles. Which means we have absolutely no idea what Creepy Luz actually is. All we know is Creepy Luz sent letters to Camila meaning they went to summer camp, seem to have a vague concept of what Luz and Camila’s relationship/interactions are, probably got Luz’s personality from the letters and interaction with Camila, knows about the Boiling Isles and wants to go back somehow, and has the ability to appear as Luz. There have been other theories going around in the fandom as well. Creepy Luz could be an illusion conjured by another witch. However, this means there was a witch watching Luz this entire time even before entering the Boiling Isles. Not impossible as there is a mysterious hooded figure from the trailer. But it would entail that they have a connection to the Human Realm or have access to see the Human Realm and have magic powerful enough to sustain Creepy Luz in the Human Realm. It’s not impossible but I think Belos would notice and try to get rid of them. Either this witch is crafty or Belos’s men are not doing a good job. Another theory is that Creepy Luz doesn’t exist and is just a hallucination from Camila’s stress and sadness of Luz missing. There are instances where if the trauma is too much, the brain can cause hallucinations that are very real to cope with. However, Camila seemed okay in ‘Enchanting Grom Fright” and “Keeping Up A-fear-ances” and interacted with Creepy Luz normally. The home also looked well kept and organized and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. She also received physical letters and it’s not possible she wrote them herself because she knows Luz’s name and what they do for activities together. Camila also looks content that she received texts from Luz so she does not know she is missing from camp. This theory is probably the most far-fetched, but it’s worth mentioning at least. Honestly Creepy Luz can be anything from the Boiling Isles which means we have no idea what they are yet.
Now let’s get to how this affects Camila. We will see her again as there is a clip of her in the trailer we have not seen. However, it will not be towards the end of Season 2A (either 9 or 10). Now there are episode titles and descriptions of episode 9 and 10 but because they have not been officially released by Disney, I will not comment on them too much. From the short time we see Camila it seems she is doing okay and is under the assumption Creepy Luz is Luz. Now one would think Camila would notice changes in Luz. Creepy Luz is cunning and smart by going to the camp to not only study Luz and human culture but to fool Camila. Camila sent Luz to camp to help with her impulsive creativity and to fit in a little (does not make Camila a bad mom, I will rant about that later). Seeing her daughter change wouldn’t be a red flag for her. However, their ruse will not last for long. In the clip, we see Camila smiling until she puts the phone down and starts frowning. This is either a response to the messages from Luz or a response to Creepy Luz and their odd answers or behavior. She may start to think Creepy Luz suspicious and notice something is off. Even notice the newspaper clippings and conspiracy theory boards are off instead of Luz just being her usual weird self. Once she distances herself from Creepy Luz, she will look at the messages Luz sent (if they are sent) and wonder who this imposter is. If the messages haven’t been sent, then she will find out herself about Creepy Luz being an imposter (behavior, appearance, secret journals, interactions, etc). From seeing many scenarios from the fandom either two things will happen. 1) Camila will confront Creepy Luz and find out they are an imposter. Whether physical combat happens or they just go into a verbal confrontation, Creepy Luz’s disguise will falter and this may send Camila in an angry panicl. 2) Camila will keep interacting with Creepy Luz to find out more about Luz’s whereabouts. She will keep her knowledge of Creepy Luz a secret to find her daughter. However, this will create tension and both will slip up their true intentions. Now depending on what Creepy Luz is either their intentions are as simple as just messing with people or sinister like taking over Luz’s life for a purpose. We have to remember “The Owl House” is a horror comedy so there is bound to be some silliness either in the confrontation or Creepy Luz. However, from the conspiracy board, it seems Creepy Luz may want to go back to the Boiling Isles. Depending on their motives for that (if not related to Belos) the two may actually work together. Camila will help Creepy Luz get back to the Boiling Isles and Creepy Luz will help Camila find her daughter. Now this is only if that is the intention of Creepy Luz. There could be other intentions such looking for something for the “Day of Unity” (if related to Belos) or simply wanting Luz’s life. I do hope we get a confrontation with Creepy Luz, stating Camila accepted them easily because she wanted a normal daughter instead of Luz. Camila will be saddened because Creepy Luz is not all wrong but also becomes angry and realizes she does love Luz no matter her weirdness (again will go on a separate rant about Camila in another post). This will spur Camila further into finding Luz. However, this is just an imagined scenario in my head. The main point is Camila will find out about Creepy Luz’s true identity. Honestly, Creepy Luz was just a theory until now confirmed. I am excited to find out what Creepy Luz is, their intentions, and how Camila will find out/react to it. If you have any thoughts about Creepy Luz please comment I’d love to hear em!

For the anon talking about how they hate how over exaggerated a character is. I am not trying to start hate or anything, but if you don't like the way how someone portrays the character, just stop reading it. Some people don't delve deep, they just want to write fanfics for fun they're not going to make sure it's 100% the characters VERY complex personalities. Or the way how they view a character is different from their beliefs. I've gotten this message before and I am TIRED of it
I think it's a good time to talk about this because I've been thinking about bringing the topic up for a while. To begin with, let's clear something between the two anons because I think it's a misunderstanding:
Note: Please read this, this is important.
Anon A is saying that they're sometimes bothered by how some fanfics and Aus have a different way of picturing character X, in other words, they don't really enjoy it when a character is bring mischaracterized
Anon B (this anon) is saying that if you're bothered by a fic because you don't like how they're characterizing an specific character, then you don't have to read it.
Let me say that both of these anons are right, yet to think that their ideas are the opposites of each other, is totally wrong. In other words they both have a point, but I guess their points needs a stronger a better way of being explained in order to avoid any further dramas and misunderstandings.
Why am I doing this? Because I've seen -enough- of it. After the twst character analyses, aruges toward the mischaracterizations in this fandom became a thing, it's been causing some issues and arguments between the fans and it's mainly because of how sides fails to explain their points clearly.
Though I didn't really receive any rude asks/comments regarding myself the matter I can still how some fans feel attacked, offended or called out by character analysis posts or have the NERVE to attack or offend others with their own perspective on characters and try to force others into accepting them.
Enough with drama, I'm sick of it. I'm going to explain this as clearly as I can, hopeful that this would at least lessen the chance of having to go through another drama regarding the mischaracterization issue.
1) The concept of FANfiction
First off, the fanfiction itself; what is a fanfiction? What type of writing is considered to be a fanfic? What is it even used for? These are the questions we all need to answer before getting to know the world of fanfic.
Just as its name explains, it's fan + fiction. It's the result of the fan's creativity and imagination taking place in a fictional plot, something that hasn't happened with the original characters and he original story. The fans' imagination is often far beyond the plot which the original story/series/book offers, yet this isn't going to hold fans back from imagining it. Fanfiction is the way of giving yourself (or others) the specific and plot with the original and canon version isn't going to give you, in other words it's a way of getting what you wish to see through a story but this time, it's you who'd decide what will happen.
You are the one who decides how characters will be, you are the one who decides how and where this story happens and you are the one to choose how this story must come to an end. It's all about your own imagination and creativity, which enables you to have power over everything about your own story and fanfiction, everything (In expection gor than legal issues including claiming the original character as yours). You have the power, and you choose how it should be.
2) Fanfiction and mischaracterization
This was mainly the most brought up issue in the recent Twst drama, mischaracterization through writings. Many were saying how they find this annoying and nerve-wrecking, but no one really talked about how mischaracterization comes to life.
Let me tell you, as long your writing is a fanfic, there is a 70% chance of mischaracterizing the plot or the characters and there's nothing wrong with it, that's just how fanfiction works! It isn't supposed to be canon, it is fanon and only fanon. Everything that happens is fictional and fanon based, in other words, it's the fan who decides what should happen in a fanfiction and how it's supposed to be!
One of the Fanfiction's best purposes is giving the fandom a chance to mischaracterize! To write the characters the way they wish them to be and not necessarily the way they truly are. Fanfiction allows us to imagine and create something that isn't true, so let me clear my point here: It's totally okay to change the characters' personalities in your fanfics! As the writer, you have the right to do so, and since writing a fanfic must be for your own pleasure in the first place, no one can stop you from imagining whatever you want! No one can jump out and say stuff like "YOU CAN'T MISCHARACERTIZE A CHARACTER IN A FANFICTION" because that'd be super lame. It's your own fanfiction, your story, your creation and you're free to mischaracterize if that's how you like it to be! And if anyone doesn't like that, remember that they don't have to read that.
3)What is the problem?
Look, we've been going through some drama because of the recent character analyses of twst fandom, and I'd like to explain why. First off, note that I think both sides of the argument have been wrong and I'm going to talk about both of them.
Let me begin with a small example: It's been argued that based to what we've seen from Leona's personality so far, he doesn't seem to be the type to love healthily or even easily fall for anyone. Some of the fans seemed to be offended by the statement and said that "They still want their Leona fluff no matter what everyone else says" okay okay, this is the problem I was talking about: Saying that canon Leona doesn't seem to be much of a fluffy lion or a sweet lover isn't equal to forbidding the fans from writing fluffs for him or picturing him as a adorable and gentle lover! No one has the right to hold fans back from appreciating and enjoying what they like! But it's important to know what exactly is happening.
I'll talk about some crucial points you need to know about character analyses and how it's different from a fanfic in part (4), but before that, let me continue to give some examples of the recent argues and how each of the sides were wrong.
A) You enjoy reading fluffy Malleus content but character analyses have been saying that he isn't as soft and cute as you'd expected him to be. Does this mean that you can no longer ask for wholesome Malleus content or enjoy reading them? -> Of course not! You're still free to read/imagine/write whatever you like with Malleus! No one has the right to tell you what to do, and character analyses aren't meant to be a way to hold you back from enjoying what you like! If you're enjoying something, go for it! In this fanon world no one can accuse you for not following the canon interpretations!
B) You've spent a rather long time getting to know Ace and his canon personality, and you really like the way he is! But by reading fanfics/ fandom's interpretations on him you can't help but to feel like they aren't giving his personality the justice he deserves, and aren't seeing the great and amazing character he truly is. Is it okay to feel upset about this? -> Just as I said, it's totally fine to have your personal interpretations of a character no matter how different the rest of the interpretations are! But the real question is: what should you do when you think fandom isn't doing a character justice? This would be answered in part D!
C) You are enjoying your personal ideas and headcanons with Idia and many are saying that your way of picturing him is so adorable! Does this necessarily mean that the canon Idia as well is like you describe him? -> Absolutely not! No matter how adorable an Au/headcanon is, everyone's free to enjoy it but you should remember that canon ≠ fanon. You are totally free to imagine whatever you'd like! But keep this in mind that you shouldn't insist on your ideas being necessarily canon!
D) You feel like many are mischaracterizing your favorite character and you don't like it, what should you do? -> Well to begin with, remember that other fans have the right to characterize a character just as much as you do! You can't stop them from doing what they like or expect them to change the way they are because of how different the canon interpretation of a character might be. But you as well have a great chance to inspire the fandom by your own ideas! You can try to discuss how different the canon personality of your favorite character is and even try to turn that into a character analysis! This way you'd not only avoid causing any drama because of disagreeing with someone's way of picturing your favorite character, but you will also have a chance to present your personal ideas and characterizations to the fandom in a friendly and polite way!
E) You don't like how an author is characterizing some of the boys, what should you do? -> Easy solution, don't read it. Let me tell you, I have gone through this a lot and do you know what I do whenever I read/see something that doesn't match my tastes and expectations? I keep scrolling! That's all, I don't have to like it, but I don't have to read it either! 😀
F) You're an author and a writing request is asking you to write for a character in a way you just can't or don't want to write because that goes totally against your idealistics and ideas on a character, for example: You just can't write something really wholesome and fluffy for Leona because you can't imagine him being like that, what should you do? -> It's obvious, then don't write it! You have the right to choose what you'd like to write and how you like to picture a character no matter what others think. If you want to picture Leona as an emotional and soft boy, it's totally okay! If you want to picture him as a cold-hearted and mean prince, again it's totally alright! Remember, just like fans you have the right to picture and characterize the characters the way you want to, and no one can tell you otherwise!
G) You've read a character analysis and you realize that you've been mischaracterizing Floyd for a while, should you feel bad or sorry about it? -> Of course not!! Even if you were mischaracterizing him, keep this mind that there's nothing wrong with picturing Floyd as the way you want him to be! As long as you don't claim your headcanons to be canon and share stuff like "Canon from is definitely like this" or "Floyd would do that, canon! ^-^" it's totally alright to imagine him the way you like!
H) You saw someone saying something about Malleus that didn't match the canon interpretations of him. You quickly replied to then and corrected them about their wrong point of view and tell them how the real Malleus is, which kinda led to and argument between you and the person, did you do the right thing? -> Absolutely not! Attacking others out of nowhere and without any context isn't the right way of introducing the canon characterizations to the fandom! Even if you were right, keep this in mind that the other person has the right to picture Malleus or any other character the way they want them to be so if you want to correct them or try to get to know the canon character interpretations, you should do that from the logical and polite way.
I) Someone wrote a character analysis for Idia and said how they find it so annoying when people who refer to Idia as "Baby" and "uwu beanie". You often refer to Idia as baby or cutie yourself and the context of that analysis/general post some how got to you. You feel lowkey attacked and offended, did the original poster say the right thing? -> No, matter what the context is or how accurate and well-written that analysis was, directly calling people who have a certain way of picturing a character "Annoying" is rude no matter how you think of it. Even if the original poster were right about Idia not being UWU, their way of wording their sentence wasn't really pleasant; keep this, in mind that everyone in the fandom is free to picture Idia as they like and it doesn't even matter if you don't like it or not! If you're going to write an analysis/essay regarding a character's personality, remember that you should prove your point and disagree with opposite opinions through logical reasoning and explaining your point, NOT by offending and attacking other ideas by savage contexts like "You have to stop saying that Idia is like this", "I hate it when people say Idia is like this", " It's so annoying to see people saying Idia is like this... "
4) What's with the character analyses then?
There's a difference from the canon and fanon interpretations of a character, this is a truth which cannot be denied. But it's important to remember that just because a canon interpretation of a character exists, you can no longer enjoy the fanon interpretations!
Even I, for example, enjoy picturing someone like Malleus as an purely evil being like Maleficent herself because I enjoy seeing him as a perfect figure for "Mister of all Evil", but in my Malleus analysis post I explained how we should NOT think that Malleus is nothing but pure evil or a heartless monster! See, this is the difference I've been talking about. I'm pretty well-familiar with the canon Malleus, but I'm also enjoying the my own fanon Malleus and I know that the Evil Malleus I admire is a fanon one, not the canon one!
The thing is, character analyses aren't meant to be a way to hold anyone back from enjoying their fanon interpretations or imagining what they like, they aren't call out posts either. They are simply a way of getting to know the characters as if you're getting to know one of your irl friends. You come to think of them, see how deep their personalities are and get to learn more about them!
It's true that reading a character analysis might make you realize that you've been somehow mischaracterizing a character but this, isn't anything to be sorry or frustrated about! Character analyses are written to learn us more about our favorite characters, or as I like to name it, they want to show us that they're a lot more that we may imagine them to be!
Now, you may wonder how can we write a good character analysis without getting out of the line, offending anyone or giving out any cheap information?
I, personally, am pretty strict when asked to do a character analysis. Doesn't matter if I like the character or not, I'd try to judge them nonetheless. You HAVE to talk about both good features and bad features, and you must strictly avoid your analysis from getting personal; you have to make sure that your personal thoughts, feelings and emotions regarding a character aren't effecting your analysis. You shouldn't be writing it in a way to show off with your analytical ideas either.
Some people think coming off as rude would make them sound valid and acceptable, or they might just be used to being a little offensive in general, but as I explained in part 3-I, I won't recommend using any harsh or mean languages at all. Let me note that your way of wording your ideas is crazily important and if you're not careful enough with what you say and how you describe your ideas, your post would be not only be not much helpful as an analysis but also a cause of more drama and arguments. Also, keep this in mind that even the best of character analyses can't totally catch the characters' personalities correctly because we do not own them! Twisted wonderland's characters are a property of aniplex and neither me not anyone else in this fandom has the right to claim what a character is 100% like unless Disney officially releases those details!
Writing character analyses can be hard, from finding enough of hints to defend your point to choosing the right Grammer and way of speaking to avoid any further misunderstandings. But remember, those who write character analyses have no right to attack anyone because of them (They can oppose to different opinions of course, opposing ≠ attacking ), but keep this in mind that readers have no right to attack then because of their analysis either! See, that's a two-sided relationship. Both of the, sides have to learn to respect, both of the sides should, know, their boundaries and both of the sides have to be respectful!
Warning: When I say you're free to do or imagine whatever you wish to do, know that posting and sharing writings too has its own rules. Make sure to put the proper warnings, and avoid using any taboo or clearly impolite and sometimes, illegal concepts such as incest, pedophilia, etc.
I actually had a lot more I wanted to say regarding the matter but I'm keeping it short, because I know that writing too much would make this boring and pretty hard to read. Hope that it's clear enough and avoid the possible future misunderstandings and arguments regarding the matter. Please, this isn't even about twst, it's about learning to respect each other it's about real life. Having people read THIS is a lot more important than having them read my character analyses or writings.
