In-Person, hands-on lessons are better than virtual lessons
You will be using your AT skills in the real world—learn them that way
AT lessons that bring us together in real time and a shared, three-dimensional space enable us to use ourselves well as we go about our daily lives—the way swimming lessons, conducted in a pool, stream or ocean, teach us to move easily and safely through water. Virtual swimming lessons wouldn't make sense, and I don't believe virtual AT lessons do either.
I want my students to be able to use their AT skills well, in real life, in everyday activities. To achieve this, in-person, hands-on teaching is essential. And that is the only kind of teaching I do at betterATbeing.
Alexander Technique: Conversations in touch
Learning Alexander Technique is like a conversation directly between two nervous systems. In addition to verbal instructions, much of the experiential knowledge I convey to students reaches them via the primary language of Alexander Technique: touch. Without touch, crucial information would be missing in our communications, reducing the teaching and learning process to a kind of pantomime or guessing game.
My hands tell me how the student is doing
In my work as your AT teacher, I rely on my hands, not just my eyes, to help me carefully monitor your use of your Self (your dynamic circuit of mind-body functions, which are inseparable). If I were to teach virtually, relying on a visual assessment alone, I could not find out if you are really learning. I can check your understanding best by observing extraordinarily subtle changes in your muscle tension and release, which happen instantaneously in response to changes in your thinking. Changes in muscle tension are not always visible in a virtual teaching setting.

WiP Wednesday 20/03
Since I have managed to fuck up my Several Sentence Sunday post and last line post, I shall use all my tags this Wednesday and post two snippets for you lovelies!!! Thank you @anincompletelist @suseagull04 @indestructibleheart @priincebutt @sunnysideprince @onthewaytosomewhere @wordsofhoneydew @porcelainmortal @cricketnationrise for tags 🤍🤍
Alexander should not think of Mr. Mountchristen in such capacity, not without remembering the unpleasant past occurrences, yet he could not disregard the words spoken by him in this instance, brushes of contact that are undeniably courteous.
Surely, their mutual, deeply rooted dislike that presented itself from the first occurrence they had shared the displeasure of making acquaintance has grown into something more delicate, his distaste losing its ferocity with each occasion.
Yet he was astounded by the mere implications such words carried. ’I can no longer restrain my amorous affections towards you under the guise of harshly spoken words. I firmly believe such circumstances, a love this overbearing, can only come upon a person once’.
And a smutty oneee
It doesn’t happen very often. That Henry wakes up from a nightmare, desperate to feel Alex, desperate to make sure this is real. But when it happens, the burning need coursing through his veins takes over, almost physically compulsing him to ground himself with Alex. The palpable evidence that his days of living in secret and shame are behind him, that the nightmares his gran had put him through are just that now, nightmares.
But Alex is sleeping right now, a much deserved rest after working himself to the bone for his finals. Henry tries to ground himself by using other techniques, utilizing tools he’s learned in therapy. Five things you can see… He can do this, he can do this.
1.He’s seeing the blanket pooled over Alex’s hip
2.He’s seeing Alex’s boxers
3.He’s seeing Alex’s cock, because he ever so carefully pushed the aforementioned boxers down to his thighs…
The guilt and shame melts away once he has the weight of Alex’s heavy, thick cock on his tongue, grounding him, tethering him to his reality. Then time only becomes a construct he measures by the ache in his jaw, savoring every second of it
If I missed any tags I’m sorry and ily <3 this is an open tag to anyone who wants to join and here are some no-pressure attached tags under the cut

"Perhaps the most amazing whiskey bottle I have ever seen. Its name Aga Kandoblanc hides the Japanese concept "kando" - a feeling of pleasure that a person experiences when seeing something beautiful. The bottle in the Battuto technique, of course, was made by Murano masters. But with whiskey, an interesting story about how dreams come true. Having left a successful career in corporate finance, whiskey connoisseur Dawali Gandhi decided to give in to his passion and become a blender. The result- a unique 1.6 liter bottle of whiskey, which has long been sold at auction, but you can still admire it." Alexander Rymkevich "BonMot"

(っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ REQUESTS ARE OPEN, Ive finished 4/7 request that I currently have and will schedule them to be posted throughout the week so be on the look out for your request c: <33 ♥
The sound of thunder rumbles in the distance as you sit at your desk, surrounded by textbooks, notes, and a dimly lit lamp. The rain is pouring down outside, pattering against the windowpane like an incessant drumbeat. You've been studying for hours, but the information just doesn't seem to be sticking. You read a page of notes, and it seems like the words are just jumbled letters on a page. You try to remember the names of the bones in the human body, but they all blur together in your mind. You continue to review the information, trying different study techniques like creating flashcards, drawing diagrams, and taking practice quizzes. But the more you try, the more frustrated and stressed you become. You take a deep breath and try to focus, but your mind keeps drifting. You got this you got this, you think to yourself. You start to feel a knot in your stomach as the realization sets in that you might not be ready for this exam. You try to reassure yourself that you've studied as much as you can, but the fear of failure creeps in. As you delve into your notes, lightning flashes in the sky, illuminating the room for a split second before disappearing just as quickly. The flicker of light startles you for a moment, but you quickly regain your composure and return to your studies. As the morning goes on, you become more and more exhausted, both mentally and physically. You're running out of time, and the pressure is building. You want to cry, scream, or just give up. But you know that you can't afford to do any of those things. You have to push through and keep studying, even if it feels like it's all for nothing. You began studying at six in the morning, and it is now three o'clock. Since you are studying for your current class, Anatomy and Physiology, Trent has not bothered you because he understands how important it is for you to be by yourself so you can concentrate. After all, majoring in Sports medicine is not the easiest thing in the world.
Trent yells, "Babe," and lifts his fist to knock. After a little wait, there was no response. He knocks once more, this time slightly louder, but there is still no answer. When he gently opens the door, he sees you seated in the desk chair with papers all over the place and your head down against the textbook.
You do not hear Trent as you are too lost in your mind so feeling his hand touch your shoulder causes you to jump up and quickly turn your head. Just by the way you are looking at him he could tell something was wrong. You are always beaming with light, Trent would say if someone asked him to describe you, your smile could light up the whole room. Your eyes are always so lovingly that each time you would look into his eyes, it would cause his heart to tug. But right now, you have a slight frown on your face and your eyes are droopy. You look up into his eyes as he stares down at you, analyzing. You see he is wearing a black tracksuit and has his futebol bag in his hand, “Oh you came in to tell me you are heading out for practice? Have fun,” you give him a small smile as if you are feeling okay, and of course Trent does not buy it. When it is raining, or in this case thunderstorming, they usually practice inside so it is no surprise that he still is about to head out. You are about to turn around, but then hear him speak, “Did you eat yet?” You shake your head no, “I haven't had time…. Or should I say I don't feel the need to?” “Didn't you say the exam is on Friday?,” he questions, causing you to nod your head. Today is Monday, but of course anatomy is not something you can just study at the last minute in hopes to pass the test. He stares at you for a few minutes, before dropping his bag and grabbing your hand. “Come on, you've been studying all morning and it is draining you.” As he grabs your hand to pull you out of your seat you begin to protest,”But Trent I-” “You will be fine. You studied today, and you can continue to study more tomorrow. But, Don't try to study all day because that's when your brain goes into overdrive… Plus I don't think the thunderstorm is helping you right now,” and as if on cue- a loud roar of thunder can be heard. You sigh, nodding your head, giving in. He smiles as he takes you out of the study room, bringing you into the living room and notions for you to sit down on the couch. He picks up the remote from the coffee table, handing it to you, “Pick out a movie for us to watch and I will be right back.” You are about to question where he is going, but he is already quickly leaving the room. You bite your bottom lip, exhaling a deep sigh as you mentally give in and try to destress yourself. You begin to flip through Netflix to try and find a movie for you two to watch.
Meanwhile, Trent stood in the kitchen, staring at the open fridge, trying to decide what to make for you since you more than likely have not eaten yet. He knew he wanted to make something fulfilling, yet light on the stomach. He scanned the shelves, looking for inspiration. He saw some fresh vegetables, a carton of eggs, and some cheese. He decided to make you a vegetable omelet, as he knew you loved them.He quickly chopped up some onions, peppers, and mushrooms, and sautéed them in a pan. Then he whisked some eggs in a bowl, added a splash of milk, and poured them into the pan. As the omelet started to set, he sprinkled some cheese on top and folded it over. He plated the omelet, along with a side of fresh fruit and some toast. He also poured a glass of orange juice, knowing it was your favorite.Trent carries the breakfast to the living room, where he sees you sitting on the couch, looking stressed and tired. He presents you with the plate, and a warm smile.
"Here you go, my love," he said. "I made you a vegetable omelet, just the way you like it." The aroma from the food fills your nostrils, instantly making your stomach grumble to remind you just how hungry you unconsciously are. You smile as you grab the plate from him, thanking him, and instantly grab the fork to begin to eat. Trent sits down beside you, watching you intently as you savor each bite of your meal. He couldn't help but admire your beauty, from the way your hair cascaded down your shoulders to the way your eyes sparkled in the light. As you take another bite, Trent's mind begins to wander. He thought about all the times you two had spent together, laughing, talking, and just being with each other. He couldn't believe how lucky he was to have such an amazing girl in his life. Lost in his daydream, Trent didn't even notice when you finished your meal and looked up at him. "What are you thinking about?" you ask, a smile playing at the corners of your lips. Trent blinks, snapping out of his reverie. "Oh, nothing," he replies sheepishly, feeling a flush rise to his cheeks as his smile never leaves his face, allowing his dimple to peek through, "I was just admiring how beautiful you are.". "Oh hush you are soooooo cheesy!,” You laugh, shaking your head, “Thank you for the food baby," you say, leaning to give him a quick kiss. Trent feels his heart swell with love for you as he pecks your lips. As you browse Netflix once more, you lean against his side and put your arm around his. "Let's watch Scary movie 2," you suggest. Trent releases his arm from your grasp and wraps it around you so that your head can rest on his chest as you continue to speak, "It's dumb but it's funny." Trent leans his head against yours as you click on the movie. He kisses the top of your head, "Anything for you, love.” He tells you to wait a second before stepping away from you once more just as you are about to start the movie. He then stands up and walks through the hallway. A short while later, he returns, with a blanket and a bowl of popcorn, saying, "Alright, I'm ready now."
When the movie is over, you decide to just have a "movie day" and keep binge-watching films.
Now halfway through the second movie, you and Trent are cuddled up on the couch wrapped in the cozy blanket he brought prior . The TV's quiet hum and the pelting rain on the windows from the storm that is forecast to last all day were the only sounds coming from the living room. As a result of feeling so calm and at ease in Trent's arms, you start to feel quite exhausted. He watches as you snuggle closer to him, your head resting on his chest, and he feels a wave of tenderness wash over him. He knows school has been stressing you out lately, with exams and assignments piling up, and he wants nothing more than to take care of you. He ran his fingers gently through your hair, soothing you as you closed your eyes and relaxed. Trent feels a deep sense of responsibility towards you. He wants to be there for you, to support you in every way possible, and to make sure you know how much you mean to him. As he looks down at you, he knows that he is willing to do anything to make you happy. He begins to think about all the little things he could do to make you feel better in times like this - make you breakfast in bed tomorrow, send flowers to your university to surprise you, etc. He knew that these small gestures could make a big difference and help you feel loved and supported during this stressful time. He hugs you tightly as you snuggle even closer. He knows that he will always be there for you, no matter what. He vowed to himself the day he asked you out that he will take care of you, to support your dreams, and to be your partner in everything you both do. And as he looks down at your angelic sleeping state, he feels grateful for every moment you two have shared and looks forward to a future filled with love, laughter, and cuddles on the couch.

We know from the text that moon tea can be used both to prevent pregnancies and to terminate them. My question is, what do both law and custom in Westeros say about contraception and abortion ? And what else ways there are to make abortion in Westeros ? It seems like Cersei used a different method to abort the baby Robert had gotten her impregnated with (a decision that I wholeheartedly support),“Your Robert got me with child once,” she said, her voice thick with contempt. “My brother found a woman to cleanse me.” This may have been through the use of moon tea (as Cersei later says she knows of it), or it may have been a D&C or similar technique. What are your thoughts ?
Love, love this question, anon!
Before the answer, moon tea is also not always 100% safe and can cause severe side effects, like those that affect a young Lysa Tully. But so were most especially if dosed or taken wrong.
Here is AFfC Cerssi's thinking of Margarey, with the use of "murder" implying that like today's Christian religions, abortion is considered a "murder" of life:
So it's definitely an ideological belief that it's "murder" stemming from the most strict of Seven canon...yet in secular practice and custom, people use moon tea often enough for nobles to refer to it several times. There are no declarations or laws against either the use of moon tea or abortion itself, but you can see how abortion & moon tea and a woman revealed to be using if unmarried will suffer grievous censure or even death, according to circumstances. If you are a Queen Consort, for example, and you prevent your husband from having heirs/more heirs, you'd be seen and punished as meddling/ruining the line of succession. Of course, it'd be better if you already had kids but still, a Queen--who is supposed to model her behavior after the Mother(Seven)/the Virgin Mary, Mother of God, and Queen of Heaven is more beholden to her role as that AND a woman/child-bearer than a King is to his faithfulness to her. That doesn't necessarily mean EVERY single queen or noble wife obeyed of course, just means that if it found out, she would pay a heftier political and personal price than others.
Other real-life Europeans didn't obey the Church in everything or even to a certain zealous degree as people today might think, the church as after all an institution rather than the religion itself, though yes it can and has modified some beliefs to influence how it worshippers think about...pretty much everything of human existence and humans' relationship with the world (ex, colonization and the slave trades-missionaries). People held pagan-originated festivals, drank alcohol in great amounts, ate a lot, and had sex even when unmarried or extramaritally. (Example, the maypole) The most interesting fairytales people have or the ones that endure to this day are from pagan Celtic or Anglo-Saxon myths and religions or tales told for social control. There were medicinal and regular recipes from pagan Anglo-Saxon or Celtic rituals/life. Popes, priests friars, and monks had concubines and/or bastard children and used prostitutes for sexual relief, some even going so far as to advocate for the continuation of prostitution for the sake of keeping the "right" women from men raping them/the men having a place to expend their sexual energy. Some bishops and most Archbishops came from noble families to represent or be used for the families' political schemes/secular desires or ambitions and/or had some of their own. Anyone heard of the Borgias & Pope Alexander VI?
For some states, some monarchies, and some periods of monarchial Europe, a monarch could only be crowned and recognized as a ruler if the Catholic church/Pope crowned them. The Church informed the monarchy and vice versa. (Henry VIII made the English crown & England separate, forming the Anglican Church, which nonetheless retained many Catholic practices, imagery, etc. changing mostly in leadership, the crown.)
Even for a married woman, since the purpose of a noblewoman is to produce heirs for her lord/king, if she'd found "willfully" taking moontea for something else other than preserving her life and master-recommended and her husband at least in some way aware...well. I don't need to spell it out for you. So this also speaks for contraception implied as an unideal necessity conditioned on decisions from others outside the woman herself. According to circumstance.
D&C (Dilation and curettage) is only first recorded in late 19th cent for Europeans. Westeros is modeled after medieval-early modern period Europe, specifically England, France, the Italian states, and Germany. As far as I know, it wasn't a real option for real-life med/Tudor people, so it wouldn't exist for Westeros, esp w/how invasive it is, people arent really going to think of this. (btw, today as well as in the 19th century, people don't just use D&C for abortions)
I also don't think that moon tea was the only resource women had to contraception and abortion. That would be too implausible, esp considering how women had more than one way to prevent or end pregnancies. Sure, it's possible that Cersei used something other than moon tea since she'd want to not be discovered and moon tea is so recognizable and known. We don't have the details, Cersei also could have taken moon tea. If she didn't there is no named alternative to moon tea that I could remember nor from what I tried to research.

You asked about Housewarden’s favourite video games…but what about Vice Housewardens? Ignoring the in-game canon video games, what do you think their favourites would be??
(My friend is referring to this post HERE.)
Thanks for the ask, friend! I'm super excited to write this! I hope you like my answers!! Also, do note that even though the game never outright says Ruggie or Ortho are "vice house wardens" they're treated as such in game.
As per my last rules: I'll only talk about video games I've had personal experiences with. If a game is part of a series and I think they're basically similar, I'll just list them all together. Also, I'm trying to avoid any mobile/gacha/MMOs just because 1) I'm super unfamiliar with most and 2) I want to pick mostly PC and console games.
The Vice House Warden's Favourite Video Games
Trey - Cooking Mama (1 and 2)
Is there any contest for me with this one? Now, I do admit, I never really played Cooking Mama myself. However, my neighbour, who I grew up with, played Cooking Mama 1. I remember watching him play it, so I think that counts towards personal experiences. Anyways, this game is perfect for Trey! It's all around cooking and perfecting the different recipes! I think he'd love that element to it! There are also many different techniques and ways to do the various recipes, so it presents a challenge for Trey. However, it's one of those games that people only complete if they're completionists, which I don't think Trey is. So, he can put it down whenever he wants because he's a casual gamer.
Ruggie - Mario Kart (any of the games)
For Ruggie I think Mario Kart is the perfect game! Do know in my heart it's Double Dash as that's the one I'm most familiar with, but I'm saying any because the core element of the game is the same: race and win. I think Ruggie loves the party element of this game as he can play it with the kids back home. He loves sabotage and being a bit of a little shit when he plays too and with items and evil courses, I think he'd have a blast. I also think he'd on purpose drive off the course for the fun of it.
Jade - Amnesia: The Dark Descent
"But you cannot do horror" you may be saying and you're right, I can't. However, I have played at least 50-60% of the first Amnesia game! It has a vibe and aesthetic I think Jade would love. He'd eat up any horror game without flinching and probably laugh at the monsters/Daniel's misfortune as he ventures downward to kill his evil ex, Alexander. He'd also be delighted at the water level where most rational people cringe and cry thinking about it. This is also a game that Floyd would love shouting "encouragement" while Azul winces at certain elements.
Jamil - Just Dance (any of the versions, really)
For Jamil I think a fun, casual game works best as I don't think he's a big gamer. I picked Just Dance because he can do two things at once: play a game and work out. This game also has some great songs and I think Jamil would love picking and choosing. This game, like Trey's, is one that can become a little "completionist" and maybe spark some "competitive" spirit inside of people, which I think suits Jamil. He'd be the kind to pretend he's casual about the game before utterly destroying someone's score because they pissed him off.
Rook - Shadow of the Colossus
Originally I was going to try and pick a game with shooting or hunting in it but I figured if Rook wants that he can, you know, go outside? No, that's too much of a blend of his other hobby, hunting. So, I picked Shadow of the Colossus which is on my top list of "Master Piece Story Telling Video Games of All Time". Look, this game has it all: breathtaking scenery, gorgeous music, a story that has to be pieced together as you progress, and some of the most creative, impressive boss fights. I think Rook would get very invested in the story and the cinematic master piece of this game. He'd definitely be praising it as he plays and enjoy the overall experience.
Ortho - Pokemon (any of the newer ones)
I know I put Pokemon in my last list, but I specifically said the older games. For Ortho, he's playing the newer ones like Scarlet/Violet or Arceus. He's also Very Into the Meta and knows all the best Pokemon to grab and train. He knows the best move set for them. He knows which Pokemon to make HM bots and which to avoid catching. Ortho is planning his optimal strategy with Idia as they banter back and forth as he creates his "perfect team". They probably have a three day argument over which starter for Ortho to pick LOL. I also think Ortho would love to try a Nuzlocke and ask Idia to help him set one up with many challenges and difficulties. Also, the games have a small companion piece as two people can buy the opposite games and trade with one another. So, Idia is right there with Ortho, playing the same game just the other version.
Lilia - Fire Emblem (any title)
Do know in my heart, if I had opened this list up to mobile/gacha, I'd say Honkai Star Rail for Lilia because I'm just imagining him having the best luck and rubbing it into everyone's faces. Also, space theme is top tier.
Anyways, I picked Fire Emblem not to be self-indulgent, but because I think Fire Emblem has many elements Lilia would love: fun story, even if some games have better or worse plots than others, fun characters, and strategy. I'm imagining Lilia loving the game play as he strategically plays through the maps. He'd play on classic mode for sure, though I do like to think he'd never let characters die. Just because I can't bear doing that. I also think Lilia would love the supports and romance elements some of the newer games have. I bet he'd have his ships and also try to get their paired ending. Finally, I think Lilia would also LOVE to play a game where he picks all the WORSE classes for his units. Like making Lysithea a melee unit or something equally ridiculous.
There you have it! My list of what I think are the vice house warden's favourite video games! I do hope you enjoyed this list! Let me know what you think and what your choices would be, friend!!! I'll be eager to read them!

@alexanders-pokemon-adventure
Hey! I've seen you asking around about Helping Hand and people's experiences with it, and I may have some insight.
There are a few things to factor in when talking about Pokémon using moves on Humans because of the way the energy effects us differently than it does them. The first major one is the intent behind the move. For example, moves like Cut, Metal Claw, and Slash can deal devastating damage to a Human when used with malicious intent. On the other hand, those same moves can be used to preform minor surgeries, trim nails, cut hair, and other delicate applications if the Pokémon trains and hones their technique. This brings us to the second variable, which is training. The move a Pokémon uses is only as good as the Pokémon using it. Not only does training affect the potency of the move, but also the precision and accuracy. Learning a move is like learning to do anything; when you first learn to rollerskate, you don't have a lot of control over your speed, you don't have very good balance, and starting and stopping are challenging. As you practice, you learn to go faster, turn sharper corners, stop on a dime. It's very similar to a Pokémon training a specific move, and this is how service 'mon train for their jobs.
The next thing to consider when discussing how a Pokémon move will affect a Human is the specific person in question. Physical and mental disabilities and illnesses, genetic dispositions, and skills can change the way a move works. For some people, myself included, certain moves make the day to day life a little more bearable. Others have adverse reactions, even if the intent is pure and the move is passive.
Finally, of course the move being used makes a difference. Helping Hand specifically can do a few different things for a Human, depending on the above variables. For some people, it helps them move faster, others it boosts strength. My Umbreon, Nyx, uses it on me to help me stay focused by regulating my executive function. Some other service Pokémon use it to cheer up their depressed partner, prevent fainting in people with low blood pressure, or assist with physical disabilities by improving motor function. It is used in doctors offices and rehab facilities to calm angry patients or help them through pain. Paramedics discovered the move can work as well as a shot of adrenaline for restarting a heart when trained correctly.

The Timeless Craft of Fashion Recreations: A Journey Through Time
Introduction
Imagine stepping into a world where the lines between past and present blur, and historic fashion trends find new life in today's wardrobes. The art of fashion recreations allows us to do just that: to reach back through the annals of time and bring the elegance and style of bygone eras. This blog post explores the enchanting realm of fashion recreations, charting a course through history, and illuminating the ways these trends influence modern fashion.
The Origins of Fashion Recreative Art
The Renaissance of Vintage Styles
Fashion recreations aren't a modern phenomenon; they date back to the early 20th century when designers began drawing inspiration from previous centuries.
Influence of the 1920s and 1930s: During this period, there was a resurgence in Greco-Roman drapery and medieval gowns. Fashionistas of the day turned to ancient styles, merging them with contemporary sensibilities.
1940s and 1950s Hollywood: This golden age of cinema saw costume designers reviving everything from Victorian corsets to Regency-era dresses, inspired by historical epics on the silver screen.
Cultural Reappropriation: Borrowing Across Ages
Not only did designers look to their own history, but they also borrowed elements from diverse cultures and eras, enriching their sartorial expressions.
Orientalism in Fashion: Eastern styles, like the intricate patterns of Japanese kimonos, began influencing Western designers as early as the 19th century.
Bohemian Influence: From the gypsy skirts of the 1970s to the folk embroidery found in today’s fashion, cultural influences from around the globe have become mainstays in recreative fashion.
Techniques and Approaches in Fashion Recreation
Authenticity vs. Modernization
Designers face a pivotal choice when recreating historic fashion: to seek authenticity or to modernize.
Authentic Reproductions: These are created with meticulous attention to historical accuracy, using period-appropriate fabrics, patterns, and techniques.
Modern Interpretations: These take the essence of historical styles but integrate contemporary fabrics, cuts, and conveniences to appeal to modern tastes.
Hybridization: Melding the Old with the New
Creating fusion pieces that blend the aesthetic of old and new involves ingenious design thinking.
Runway Examples: Many high-end designers like Alexander McQueen have made a career out of such hybridizations, creating stunning collections that nod respectfully to the past while remaining fiercely contemporary.
Everyday Wear: Ready-to-wear brands have also caught onto this trend, merging vintage silhouettes and details with everyday clothing essentials.
Significant Eras and Their Modern-Day Influences
Victorian Elegance in Today’s Attire
Victorian fashion, with its opulent details and iconic silhouettes, continues to inspire contemporary designers.
Corsets and Bustles: While the original pieces were restrictive, modern recreations often make use of stretch fabrics and less rigid structures.
Lace and Velvet: These luxurious textiles are frequently revisited, with lace trimmings on modern dresses and velvet playing a central role in many autumn collections.
The Roaring Twenties: The Jazz Age Fashions
The 1920s were a revolutionary period in fashion, with liberated silhouettes and exuberant details that resonate to this day.
Flapper Dresses: The iconic drop-waist dresses with fringe and beadwork often come back into fashion, particularly during festive seasons.
Art Deco Jewellery: Geometric shapes and opulent materials from the Jazz Age are frequently reinvented in contemporary jewellery designs.
Cultivating Personal Style Through Fashion Recreation
Finding Your Era
One of the most exciting aspects of fashion recreation is discovering which historical period speaks to you personally.
The Romantic: For those drawn to flowing fabrics and intricate details, the Regency or Victorian era might be the perfect fit.
The Flamboyant: If bold colors and theatricality are more your style, the Baroque period or the Roaring Twenties could offer endless inspiration.
Practical Tips for Modern Fashion Enthusiasts
Incorporating historical elements into your wardrobe can be both fun and fashionable without feeling like you’re wearing a costume.
Start Small: Begin with accessories like vintage-inspired jewellery, hats, or handbags.
Mix and Match: Pair historical pieces with contemporary clothing to avoid looking too dated.
DIY Projects: Try repurposing thrift finds by altering or embellishing them with period-specific details.
Conclusion
The art of fashion recreations is a captivating journey through time, offering a unique lens through which we can view both our past and present. Whether you are an avid history buff or just looking to add a touch of vintage charm to your wardrobe, exploring historical fashion trends can be a deeply enriching experience.

WORK SMARTER | ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE NEW YORK | BETTERATBEING
We all need to work smarter if we don't want to work in a state of continual pain and discomfort. And Alexander Technique (AT) is the perfect partner for better performance and workplace comfort, safety and sanity.
Most jobs involve upright activities (either standing or sitting). Being upright for extended periods of time is physically challenging, especially in stillness. So you are already working hard just maintaining a standing or seated posture - before you even begin doing the work you are being paid for.
In response to workplace pain, fatigue and repetitive stress, a great deal of ergonomic furniture is sold every year to employers (and employees) striving to make work in the upright bearable. But for the most part, furniture will not change things very much. Because the equipment that is malfunctioning is not just the furniture. It's our selves. How we do what we do is the problem.

20,000 words milestone
Since 20,000 words written is a bit of a milestone, here is some no context information about the 13th century…
Here are two religious manuscripts that may or may not be relevant:
Codex Gigas (aka The Devil's Bible)
^ So, this is a depiction of the devil found in a codex (basically an old handwritten book) from early 13th century, what is now the, Czech Republic.
Here is the Wikipedia article. It's written in Latin, which I recently discovered is a language you can learn on Duolingo... probably not 13th century Latin though.
Aja'ib al-Makhluqat (The Wonders of Creatures and the Marvels of Creation)
^ This is the Archangel Gabriel who is looking quite stylish and colourful. The picture itself is from a 14th century manuscript, but the original work was written by Zakariya al-Qazwini in the 13th.
It was written in Arabic, which as far as I can tell would have been in 'Classical Arabic' which differs somewhat from the 'Modern Standard Arabic' used today.
I can't remember how I found this, but here is the Wikipedia article.
---
So, 13th century England or 13th century Scotland...
Kingdom of Alba
Well, I haven't been to either England or Scotland, but neither existed as we know them in the 13th century. Something that did exist from 900AD till 1296AD was the Kingdom of Alba. Which seems to me to just be the Scottish Gaelic word for... Scotland.
There is a lot of information about Scotland in the High Middle Ages, far more than I had time or energy to read about. But the King during the 1240's was:
^ Alexander II (1198 - 1249), King of Scots. And here is his Wikipedia article, and that's his seal.
He was the "only Scottish king to take his invasion force all the way to the south coast of England", and signed the "Treaty of York (1237) which defined the boundary between England and Scotland".
So, the 13th century wasn't boring, if you are a historian... which I am not.
Getting slightly back on topic:
Church architecture from 13th century Scotland has a few examples still standing that are easy finds.
^ Dunblane Cathedral, in Dunblane, Scotland, has been restored... but would have been restored using materials and techniques that would make it still a useful example of a 13th century church. (Even though it was originally built between the 11th and 15th centuries... like I said, I'm not a historian.)
^ The ruins of Sweetheart Abbey, in New Abbey, Scotland, was founded in the late 13th century. I think it's held up pretty well, considering it has been abandoned since 1624.
^ My personal favourite: The ruins of Elgin Cathedral, in Elgin, Scotland. Built in 1224 on land granted by the aforementioned King Alexander II.
I mean, it had a tendance to be burnt down... at least three times... so it's probably more of a 15th century example, but it's pretty.
---
Assorted people of the 13th century:
Francis of Assisi
Francis of Assisi (1181 - 1226), was a 13th century monk who lived and died in what we would now think of as Italy. He is not relevant to what I am writing, however his Wikipedia page has a detailed painting of what a 13th century monk would wear… although it was painted in the 17th century so…
^ Francis of Assisi.
Hugh of Saint-Cher
Hugh of Saint-Cher (1200 - 1263), was another 13th century monk, this time a Bishop, who…wore glasses! That’s it, that's why I find him interesting. Born in what is now France and dying in what is now Italy, the painting of him wearing a pair of eyeglasses is one of the (if not the) first depictions we have of someone who wore reading glasses. Sunglasses were also invented in roughly the same timeframe in China.
---
Miscellaneous...
While not particularly relevant, I of course spent some time looking at fashion trends of the 13th century... and learning of the existence of sumptuary laws, which are also not relevant but confirm the existence of the fashion police.
And I have yet to finish watching the BBC docuseries on 'How To Build A 13th Century Castle'.
I'll end with: Medieval names we can all enjoy...
#13th century#medieval history#13th century fic#medieval scotland#medieval religion#apparently you can take me out of academia but...

Reichian Breathwork
Resource: Good therapy.com
Reichian Breathwork, an approach to emotional healing than utilizes breathing exercises to achieve a state of relaxation and calm, is an accepted healing practice in the fields of medicine, chiropractic medicine, bodywork, and behavioral health.
This technique helps people seeking treatment shut out external and internal distractions and disturbances in order to maintain control of their awareness. Individuals experiencing physical or psychological symptoms of destress may find breathwork a helpful practice for achieving relaxation and calm.
History And Development
Wilhelm Reich, a German psychotherapist who contributed to the work of Fritz Perls and Alexander Lowen, developed Reichian breathwork in the 1920s. Reich studied and worked closely with Sigmund Freud, and much of his early work focused on Freud's ideas of sexual repression being the cause of psychological distress, known as neurosis at the time. However, Reich took Freud's work farther, using psychotherapy and analysis to explore society's constrains on sexual freedom. Despite Freud's disapproval, Reich became preoccupied with his goal of free society of sexual inhibitions through therapy and political advocacy.
Reich's views on psychotherapy became radical for his time, and he was banned from the International Psychoanalytic Association in 1934. As a result, Reich felt free to pursue his radical work in physical methods of therapy, since he no longer had a professional code to abide by, and he began to research what he called "muscular armor," or muscular tension that is held in the body and blocks impulses to act freely and builds within the body until it disrupts a perso physical, emotional, and mental well-being. His work emphasized the idea that physical and psychological pain and turmoil were the result of people restricting their breathing and creating this muscular armor.
How Is Reich BreathWork Practiced?
People who beginning Reich breathwork sessions typically first spend time exploring current and past areas of turmoil with the therapist. Doing so not only serve to develop feelings of trust between the therapist and the person in treatment, but helps the individual identify areas of concern that the breathing exercises will then attempt to address.
In order to begin the breathing exercises, people typically lie on their backs, legs bent upward, hands at their sides. Once areas of difficulty have been discussed m, the therapist encourages the person to describe areas of muscular tension in the body, guiding them to each tension area. Full body breathing, which involves the individual inhaling as deeply as possible and then fully exhaling, is initiated. The therapist encourages the individual in treatment to be as free as possible while performing full body breathing, making any sounds or movements that come forth over the course of the session. The goal is for the individual to reach a level of safety that allows them to freely release any impulses or emotions they experience during the breathing exercises.
The therapist also guides the person to perform different bodily movements or apply pressure to a particular areas of the body, in order to allow for further release of muscular tension and help the individual learn to be flexible and become more comfortable with the practice of free-flowing deep breathing.
Reichian breathwork can be practiced by individuals on their own, but the many components of the approach must first be learned properly, individuals who are first beginning to practice Reichian breathwork generally attend weekly sessions of one hour each, until they are thoroughly grounded in the approach.
Using Reichian BreathWork Outside Of Session
Making connections between areas of muscular tension, breath restriction , and emotional pain is primary component of Reichian breathwork. Thus, performing Reichian breathwork is likely to be most powerful with the help of a therapist who is trained to recognize and assist individuals in understanding and exploring these connections.
However, as those in treatment become better able to release muscular tension, and pent-up emotional pain begins to be replaced with a sense of aliveness, individuals can continue practice of the deep breathing techniques on their own. As a person progresses through therapy and reaches set goals, therapy sessions become less frequent. A person might continue to have a session once a month to ensure continued proper use of techniques and allow the therapist to assess any changes in progress.
A number of manuals exist to help those knowledge of the approach continue practice outside of session.
Training And Certification
The Reichian Institute offers workshops and retreats that provide in-depth training on the theoretical foundations of Reichian breathwork, along with the applied techniques. The International Institute of Bioenergentic Analysis (IIBA), which is founded largely in muscular tension, breathing, and expression of emotion. The IIBA also holds an annual conference for therapist to come together and discuss current research areas in therapeutic techniques related to Reichian breathing.
How Can BreathWork Help?
Proponent of this approach hold Reichian breathwork to be an effective therapeutic technique for the release of pent-up stress, anger, and other emotional distress or turmoil. People who have held back or repressed their feelings, needs, and desires may also find that this approach can help some experience increased emotional well-being and greater self-esteem, and they may also find it easier to heal from emotional turmoil, and be more honest, both with themselves and with others.
Concerns And Limitations
Wilhelm Reich is a prominent figure in the history of psychotherapy, and Reichian breathing techniques are used in many schools of therapy.
Such intense breathing techniques may not be ideal for all individuals, however. Very deep breathing has been show to have a physiological response in the brain that activate a stress response in the amygdala, which controls emotions. While the goal is to activate the amygdala to allow for emotional release, there are some concerns associated with releasing these emotions too quick. Some people may not be able to return to therapy.
Deep breathing and activation of the amygdala could also bring past traumas to the surface, and if the person is not prepared to revisit these traumas, retraumatization (where the person feels as if they are experiencing the trauma for a second time) may occur. Retraumatization can have harmful effects, and it is considered essential for those practicing and utilizing breathwork to be fully trained and for the relationship between the therapist and the person in therapy to be founded upon trust.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐒 𝐂𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄.
Methos, the legendary oldest immortal, is a complex individual. He possesses a unique combination of experiential and scholarly wisdom, having met many philosophers and thinkers, and having lived for at least more than five millennia. Yet he is not in the least omniscient - at one point Joe Dawson must explain the concept of baseball to him - and despite his native wit and cunning, he tells a disappointed Dawson "I'm just a guy." He possesses a cynical and sharp sense of humor and does not hesitate to make others aware of their mistakes, occasionally in a humiliating way. While he is loyal to his friends and allies, he is not particularly heroic, and though he seems to want to be a good person, he is primarily, and overwhelmingly, most interested in his own survival.
Name: Methos
Common Alias: Adam Pierson (identity not discovered by time of writing this file.)
Other Names:
Dr. Benjamin Adams
Death
Remus
Alexander the Great
Caratarix
Haribu
Et-Maru
Metopholus
Nathan
Djet
Born: 6000 BCE ( understood by the Watchers to be born around 3500 BCE )
Current Birthday & Birthplace: January 15th, 1962, in Cardiff, Wales
Age: Around 8,000 years of age
First Death: A sandstorm upon his 28th year of life. Teachers:
Djer
Menahem
Sun Tzu
Dilijan
Pupils:
Khyan
Byron
Duncan MacLeod
Known Watchers: Adam Pierson, from 1980 - present
Status: Alive Known Occupations:
Watcher researcher
Doctor
Warrior
Slave (in Egypt)
Adviser
Student / Scholar
Egyptian Pharaoh
Nomad
Titles:
Horseman / Death / The Pale Rider / The Grim Reaper ↳ seen as an inspiration for the myths involving some gods: Hades, Dionysus, & Dis Pater/Pluto
Methos rode during the Bronze Age as Death, the Pale Rider, and his exploits eventually led to the creation of the myth of the Four Horsemen. He further inspired myths attributed to some gods of various regions.
The Great ↳ from his time as Alexander the Great
Another notable aspect of Methos's life is when he fabricated the identity of Alexander the Great & killed him off in a dramatic fashion.
Fighting Style: During the Bronze Age, Methos used a short sword, but his current personal weapon is a double-edged, one-handed broadsword, suiting his lean build, he fought more with speed than power. The choice of the broad sword is a presumed preference due to long experience with the standard broad sword, having lived through ages where it was more common to wield a shield with a one-handed weapon. He has used other weapons when the situation has called for it without a decline in his fighting ability, which indicates that he has learned many different fighting techniques over the course of his very long life. Note: His Chronicle describes his blade as "a single handed broadsword from the 13th century with lenticular cross-section and a fuller on each side."
He also shows great adaptability, able to use techniques he's seen only once to their full extent with little, if any practice. He has also been known to fight dirty, using a dagger alongside his sword or even electrocuting his opponent. While using a main gauche blade would not be unheard of, being part of many blade fighting styles in the world, Methos tends to produce a dagger in a surprise move, rather than begin with it in his hand. One of Methos' most interesting abilities as a swordsman, however, is his habit of downplaying his skill level, making him appear younger and less experienced, and his arsenal of escape techniques, is fitting considering his survivalist attitude.
The Game: Some time during his life, likely because he realized his legend made him a prime target and out of natural caution, he removed himself from the Game. In the early 1980s he was playing at being a student studying ancient languages at St. Aidan's College, Durham University, when he was actually recruited by the Watchers as a researcher. He hid within the Watchers under the alias Adam Pierson, where he was eventually put in charge of locating himself, and was granted the chair in Methos scholarship, When Duncan MacLeod met him some ten years later, in 1995, Methos had not taken a head for 200 years. Among those he was known to have taken:
1- Unknown, c.+3000 BC 2- Joseph, c.2400 BC 3- Dorn, Between 3000 BC and 1200 BC 4- Kristin Gilles, 1995 5- Silas, 1997 - Double Quickening occurred 6- Morgan Walker, 1998 7- Khyan, 1999 He is estimated to have taken over 153 heads in all of his 8,000 years of life.
Been Around Since Antiquity (And Earlier!)
Before Methos took his first head, his memories are a blur, no one could be expected to remember more than 5,000 years of history, and he is unsure of his original homeland, people, or language. Some time after his first death, a Bedouin tribe found him and took him in, teaching him the ways of survival in the desert. He stayed with them for many years until it became evident that he wasn't aging. The Bedouins began to suspect that he was a demon or a god and forced Methos to fight one of their best warriors to the death, Methos lost. When he revived, he was banished by the Bedouins, who tied his hands and forced him to walk into the desert without any food, water, or weapons. He eventually stumbled upon a pile of bones and used them to cut his bindings.
36th century BC Uruk, Mesopotamia - The Sumerians invented cuneiform writing. “Been keeping it [a jounal] almost since writing began.”
In truth, Methos has been many things in his long life. He's been a slave, a pharaoh, a scholar, & even a doctor to help the sick. He's been around for a long time. Many Watchers wonder... where is he? Will they ever find a photograph of him?
To be updated as his Chronicle grows.
-A. Pierson
#though text would be omitted in an actual report to this organization - this is my attempt to share adam's own additions to his chronicle#while also giving enough information to write

They're ever changing.
They're ever evolving.
GUESS WHAT THEY ARE?
YES!
TRENDS TRENDS AND MORE TRENDS! One hot topic we frequently hear about in the fashion business is trends. Everybody is always searching for "what's new," "what's trendy," and so on. And after all, style is more than just appearance; staying current may have a big impact on confidence and a boost in one's self-worth! Not only that but fashion trends are also an amalgamation of different cultures, values and traditions!
EVERY THREAD HAS EMOTION
Handwoven textiles are unique from mass-produced items. Every single thread is expertly weaved, but much more significantly, with love—the love that artists have for what they do!
Different trends fall under different categories. We'll talk about handicrafts today, along with the various trends that surround them.
1) CROCHETING
@pinterest.com
•This crochet trend is about infusing the soothing warmth of home into your attire with cozy ponchos and generously sized scarves. From crochet tops and dresses to accessories like hats and bags, crochet is versatile and can be worn in a variety of styles.
•In recent seasons, womenswear wardrobes have consistently featured crocheted textiles, and this trend is still going strong.
•Utilized for shorts, camisoles, and jackets, open-work fabrics are shaped in various ways and, in a non-traditional way, included flowery embroidery and vivid colors.

2) EMBROIDERY-THE COMEBACK FASHION TREND
•The intricacies of an embroidered fabric is what makes it truly mesmerizing and delicate. •An increasing number of artists are experimenting with needlework as a means of self-expression. •The exquisite hand work of the artist adds a hint of personalization! •Modern embroidery is on the rise since a few years and is an incredibly relaxing and meditative art form. •Some of my personal favorites are the embroideries on Alexander McQueen’s collections.
1)ALEXANDER MCQUEEN'S COLLECTION Designer Alexander McQueen has an exquisite collection of embroidered fabrics. His fascination with the elemental—earth, wind, fire and water—imbued his collections with primordial drama. Nature and its materials were a constant in McQueen's work. He incorporated hair, wood, shells, coral, feathers, horns, and even taxidermy into his designs.

2) MODERN EMBROIDERY
•Hand embroidery is a labor-intensive technique that is still widely practiced today in many various forms, including contemporary embroidery. In my opinion, modern stitching is a type of needlework that is more approachable and pleasurable for us in these hectic times. And, of course, creating patterns with a modern flair! •Modern embroidery is on the rise since a few years and is an incredibly relaxing and meditative art form. •Due to COVID, people were confined in their houses, causing them to have an extensive leisure time. This resulted in an increased number of people taking up embroidery as a pastime and making their own little patterns and stitches.

Stem Cell Research
How To Buy Your Way Out Of An Early Death From An Incurable Disease.
How To Buy Your Way Out Of An Early Death From An Incurable Disease.
How?... With private stem cell research, of course!... Stem cell research holds more than hope for cures. The jury is in on stem cell research. Stem cell research can offer a cure for your incurable illness. With private stem cell research a personal cure for an ill patient can be accelerated. With every michroscope in the lab tuned into your unique disease a rapid cure is guaranteed. Private stem cell research for the wealthy (that will eventually lead to cures for everyone) has arrived!
So now you are all relaxed about your health's future because some countries such as Switzerland and some American states such as California are beginning to endorse stem cell research. We too are excited about this groundbreaking research. Unfortunately, these researchers will be working with one hand tied behind their backs because these countries and California are working with restrictive legislation that forbids or impedes the cloning of human embryos. That's like giving them permission to build the fastest car in the world but with the restriction of not allowing them to put a motor in the car!
See More: The Wonders of Cord Blood Stem Cell Transplant
That's why the major new cures for cancer, heart disease, stroke, and other incurable diseases will ultimately come from small offshore labs working without restrictive legislation from the Western world. Thank God for the sake of our health that there is a world outside the United States and Western countries. The number one lab in the world offering excellence in medical research is Gen Cells Cures owned by Gerald Armstrong. Our motto is "Have Microscope will travel" When a government gets in the way of our life-saving research we will pack up our microscopes and move on.
When Alexander Grahm Bell patented his telephone in 1876 it was the difference of a half turn of a screw that put him in the patent office before Elisha Gray. With only one company in the Grand Unites States openly working on therapeutic cloning, the U.S.A. is left in the dust where innovative research and future cures are concerned. The U.S. was once at the forefront of medicine and technology, research and innovation, cures, and prevention. Now the job falls into the hands of the few working outside America.
In many cases, the work will be done by Americans. Even the Koreans who first cloned the human embryo had help from steady American hands, but the work was done in Korea by Koreans, not in America by Americans. We here at Gen Cells Cures have found that the Korean's new technique of squeezing out the DNA from the egg cell works much better than sucking out the DNA with a tiny needle. Their cloning process was a spectacular achievement.
The only American company working openly with therapeutic cloning research in the country is Advanced Cell Tech. When the cure comes it will likely come from Gen Cells Cures or some other little basement lab out in the middle of nowhere. Gen Cells Cures wants the opportunity to find cures for major incurable diseases such as cancer, heart disease, stroke, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, and other dreaded incurable diseases. The only problem with Gen Cells Cures and Advanced Cell Tech is that both of these biotechs are always running out of the money needed to do the research.
Getting private funding is like pulling teeth. It's not easy work. The cure cannot come from the Western world with restrictive legislation backed by ignorance and obscurantism. All that controversy over a stem cells is smaller than the period at the end of this sentence. Even if stem cell research (with it's restrictive limitations) had all the funding in the world there will not be a cure found until all the research is completed and that includes the therapeutic cloning stem cell research. Through out history, there have always been those people with dark-age thinking who have held back scientific progress. Sadly, US President, George Bush is a victim of such limited thinking. Gen Cells Cures microscopes already have Alexander Grahm Bell's half turn of the screw built in for success with no U.S. competition.
Non-embryonic stem cell research has produced therapies for more than forty ailments including, heart disease, lupus, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, Crohn's disease, brain hemorrhage, brain tumors, retinoblastoma, ovarian cancer, sarcomas, scleroderma, multiple myeloma, leukemia, renal cell carcinoma, breast cancer, and others. There have been no therapies from embryonic stem cell research so far simply because researchers have been using generic stem cells and there has not been one penny of public or private research money available for the real solution, therapeutic cloning stem cell research.
While adult stem cell research received 190 million dollars from the U.S. federal government in 2003. Therapeutic cloning stem cell research received zero dollars in funding support in 2003! What can you expect with zero dollars allotted to this life-saving research? Why hasn't there been a cure from therapeutic cloning stem cell research so far? The answer is plain and simple, fear and ignorance has restricted the research!
Gen Cells Cures doesn't like working with generic stem cells created from an egg and a sperm cell. There is no genetic match for our patient and you destroy the embryo that could have gone on to become a baby. The company likes working with perfectly matched cells created from a patient's skin cell and a human egg cell. You have a perfect genetic match and the stem cell is made young again . While we like the applications of adult stem cells and will use adult cells until we unravel the secrets of therapeutic cloning.
We would rather have our cure come from perfectly matched fresh young stems cells rather than adult stem cells that are as old as our patient! We see the somatic cell nuclear transferred stem cell brought back to the beginning of life as the key to unlocking the aging clock. We just don't see a skin cell matched with an egg cell as a human being.
Fortunately for those of you with the ways and means and the vision to see the new dawn of stem cell research there is a way out for you and that way out is your own private medical research, (private stem cell research.) Gen Cells Cures is searching desperately for the funding to carry out the research that has been put on indefinite hold in the U.S. and the West. If someone knows a millionaire or a billionaire without a cause, please direct him or her to this stem cell research article. Yes (Means It’s Hard to Say No)

This is another Jukebox induction, this time centered around agreement and yes sets. It's a very well-done induction, and I'm sure that if I heard it recorded as it was clearly meant to be, it would likely melt my brain into a happy puddle - though my brain, being the particular flavor of ace it is, would probably shrug at the orgasm suggestion with a 'that sounds fun for people who aren't me, thank you" effectively. But technique wise? this is 10/10 spirals.

this feels vaguely serial recruitment-y, and without even consent from Jack for it, and just is a turn-off for me. Add in the race play element (the concept of a "big, black cock" and ... nope. I'm squicked TF out.

Gosh, I don't like Darren at all, and even Odetta irritates me by the end of this. I understand her anger, though, so it's easier to give her a pass. This is more body control than mind control, to me, which is a distinction that matters rather a lot to my enjoyment. Between not liking the characters and it being body control, not mind control? 2/10 spirals.

Red Head Vs. the Pretty Red Bracelet

"which was totally unfair, if either of them had any interest in his being fair" ... I love this line. So much. (I often use the related "who said anything about 'fair'?") And - I've stolen the idea of tying a suggestion to a bracelet from this story, for my favourite redheaded gal, though the suggestion I tied to her bracelet is much sweeter and romantic than this one. (ok, ok, this story doesn't do a trigger so much as an associated anchor, but it still inspired me.) I love all of this story so much though. It's clever and hot and they clearly have a good relationship and just *yes.* If you like consensual, clever hypnokinky shenanigans, give this story a read! 10/10 spirals

Another delightful "these folk are clearly in a happy relationship, and I love seeing them get up to shenanigans" story. The suggestions in play are clever and the way Ellen responds is absolutely wonderful. Joe's pacing and rhythm is spot on, too, and I can just see exactly how easily Ellen lets him into her mind, surrenders to his power, and lets him bind her. It's wonderful and I absolutely *adore* stories like this. 10/10 spirals.

This is an interesting take on Victorian-era approaches.to hypnosis, and I think I mostly like it. It's truly terrible about consent, of course, but other than that I love how Alexander uses her expectation, her curiosity, and just his force of presence to command her into a trance. The story's focus on just how out of it she is, the way it feels to her, keeps me interested, but it's just missing a little something after the initial induction, for my personal preference. She's so passive, there's not much charge to it, to me. 8/10 spirals.

This reads as an induction to be recorded, but recorded with a specific person in mind - a new partner, being trained to respond, being brainwashed into the sort of pet they want to be for their dominant partner. It feels vaguely like I"m seeing somthing not meant for me, in that way. But at the same time, it's a lot of really good content to consider for any hypnotist playing with a new partner. Things like defining what safewords mean, adding in safeties like "when it's safe and comfortable" and in general how to take care of a hypnotee, while also doing hot things like brainwashing them. 9/10 spirals.
His Eyes, Her Eyes

This is a fun premise, for sure! And they both play into it so well. The sense of the rules we're given, the way they both follow them while being as unfair as they can manage, it's all really good. But the competitive edge feels just a bit ... not quite *meanspirited*, exactly, but something in that space, and that takes me out of it a little. Otherwise, this switch fight is lovely. 7/10 spirals.
