#In defense of master wu

You wanna know something I find funny about this fandom? Most of everybody hates Wu, but loves Garmadon. Everyone is always talking about how Wu is a secretive and doesn’t care about his students. They completely ignore his character development after and in season nine. He helps Cole out in motm and it’s revealed in dragons rising that he helped Kai calm himself when Nya was lost to the sea. Yet everyone judges him for his past mistakes like the time twins and more importantly Morro. He was young, young people do stupid things and he’s not at fault for everything that goes wrong. He still continues to mistakes like not telling the ninja about the merge, but he’s only human (well partially) he’s bound to make mistakes.

Then, we take a look at Garmadon. He kidnapped Nya, tried to kill the ninja multiple times, unleashed the overlord, nearly killed his son after being brought back to life, disowned his son and adopted Harumi (gags), killed Mystake, let the city burn and you’re all good with that??? Don’t get me wrong I love Garmadon, but he’s also a flawed character and you can try to defend his character in the first two seasons, but you can’t for the oni trilogy. That was all him since he was purified of the snake venom when the great devourer was vanquished. I’m sorry, but he needs to be held accountable just as much as Wu.

“Mu Qing is too logical for his own good” is such a real problem that he deals with and as tragic as it makes his life I also think it’s really funny when someone is accusing him of something and instead of telling them to shut up or leave him alone the first thing he does is pull out the 95 fucking theses detailing every single thing wrong with their argument WITH historical evidence and additional considerations from scholarly psychology articles, MLA format works cited and completely annotated. Recent commenters remarked on something I included in a fic, about the underlying reasons that Yue Qingyuan never tells Shen Qingqiu the truth, and why Shen Qingqiu never defends himself against false accusations. And the thing about that is that I think it comes from the same place. I think it's just a demonstration of the adage that the coping mechanisms that help you survive don't always help you thrive.

Because YQY and SQQ share the same trauma that causes them to be like this, frustratingly silent when it comes to speaking in their own defense. They both spent the entirety of their formative years being so completely under the power of other people, that they must have inevitably learned at some point that trying to defend themselves would be not only pointless, but probably invite even greater punishment from their masters.

We can see this most clearly with SQQ, because we know the kind of miserable life he had as a slave and then later as Wu Yanzi's accomplice/apprentice, so I think he gets more sympathy than YQY. But YQY was also a street urchin, was also a slave, and even after he joined Cang Qiong, it doesn't seem like he got a lot support or sympathy. He was imprisoned in a cave for a whole year, and that's like... obviously not something you do to a child you genuinely care for.

So being at the mercy of other people, all SQQ and YQY could do for the most part was just mitigate the amount of suffering they brought down on themselves. Endure and try not to provoke the people abusing them into coming down on them even harder.

But the thing is that both SQQ and YQY both developed this, like, survival instinct where any time they have an opportunity to defend or explain themselves, there's a blaring alarm in their brain that goes 'DANGER DANGER' stopping them from even considering it. And I doubt they're even aware of it, I doubt if you asked them they'd even be able to articulate why they stay silent even when it's to their detriment. It's become steeped into their personality that it just feels like the natural reaction to them. If they spoke they'd just make it worse.

So, I don't really feel the same anger or frustration at YQY for never telling SQQ the truth. I think on some level, he might have genuinely felt that explaining himself would make everything much worse.

⋆౨ৎ˚⟡˖ ࣪  Growing up he would constantly question his actions taking careful steps to seem like a capable leader for his brothers and you, training harder and displaying a serious exterior.

Lloyd follows the sound of giggling as he looks to your cracked door, he knew he shouldn’t be peaking into your room. Since getting a talk from his brothers about how girls liked their privacy, 

Lloyd blushes at the awkward conversation as he rolls his eyes knocking lightly on your decorated door. Your giggling stops as you shuffle in your bed,

“The doors open” you call from the other side. Lloyd pushes the door open taking the invitation as he notices your surprised expression, Lloyd hasn’t been inside your room since the change. 

So, he knew seeing him was a surprise to you, Lloyd knew he was welcomed as you had invited him in the past. However, the thoughts of being alone in a room with you made his heart skip in ways that he has never experienced so he’s denied the offer or would excuse himself with a fake task leaving you behind.

So now here he was in your room decorated to your liking which was really cute in his opinion, your room screamed you, it was comforting in a sense. Lloyd takes notice of your favorite colors scattered around the room with other colors that complimented the scheme that you were going for, 

“Wow (y/n), your room looks amazing” Lloyd compliments as he walks over to you plopping himself on the floor. He hears your giggle as his ears start to flare up, “what are you doing? Come up here” you pat the spot next to you as Lloyd nods hesitantly. He gets up to sit at the place you patted, awkwardly shifting his feet, “so, whatsup?” you ask as you sat your elbow on your crossed knee resting your cheek on your palm as you look to him. Lloyd lets out a chuckle that he's been holding in,

Why was he so nervous, he’s never been nervous of you, if anything he’s always saw you as a challenge. Avoiding you when you were kids as your teased him and he’d scheme pranks on you, but now you both would look away from each other stuttering on words and making lies to get away from one another.

What was going on? 

“Oh, y’know the usual, fighting Kai, beating Jay, helping Cole, and learning from Zane” you lift yourself up as you chuckle, “That’s a lot… How are you handling it?” You would ask that a lot checking on him to which greatly appreciated since no one had ever asked him that. 

“It was hard at first, but it’s becoming second nature now.” You nod at Lloyd’s answer as you look away to your hands, “why’d you decided to come to my room?” you ask looking to him again with a teasing grin. “You starting to get tired of your brothers~” you laugh as Lloyd grins, “I’ve never been good at sharing” Lloyd huffs as he grins at your laughter. “How’s the room, s’pretty spacious” Lloyd looks around as you nod, you rub the back of your neck, as you mumble something that the average person couldn’t hear. 

However, when you look to Lloyd the blush on his face said otherwise as he grips the sheets under him quickly looking away as you did the same.

‘The nights are lonely without you’ is what you said, meaning for it to be internal as you move a part of your hair behind your ear. Your blush was evident on your face to Lloyd’s view, 

he swallows hard as Lloyd looks up from your wooden floorboards sucking in a breath as he says the words that has been inside his head since he left your room that night.

“I miss you too, (y/n).”

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ It was no surprise to anyone that Kai Smith had strong anger in him, since he was toddler, they have been destructive as his parents knew it was connected to his element of fire.

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ However still concerning, as when Nya was born Kai’s parents wondered how he would act around her during his destructive tantrums,

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ When Kai met his sister, they knew he would protect her from anything. Being a caring older brother, he helped them around the house, taking on responsibilities that was uncommon for a three-year-old. 

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ Then he met you, and his anger finally settled as he found someone else, he loves to protect,

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ But when you tell him that you were moving Kai felt his world shatter as he felt his anger take over, why? why did you have to move, why did it feel like you were leaving him?

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ But when he saw your sad face his anger dispersed to comfort you, saying all the new things you’ll see and do, he hated to see you cry as he tries to comfort you the best he can.

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ Trying to make you feel better takes his anger away as he always stated how much he likes your smile as a kid.

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ It seemed to always calm him down when he saw your smile, he loved playing together like a big happy family.

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ So watching you leave in the taxi with your parents to the airport broke his heart, you both were sobbing as Kai’s mother held him and your dad picks you up.

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ Kai wanted to be strong for you, but he couldn’t, seeing you leave was the hardest thing for him. So, taking the opportunity to message each other you both tried your hardest to keep in touch.

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ But then Kai’s parents left, leaving him with the shop and caring for Nya, school got harder for you as after the rumors you found it emotionally draining to pick up a pencil and paper that wasn’t your homework.

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ You both understood why you both lost touch, feeling guilty on both ends.

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ But now here you both are together, unable to let each other go again, meeting almost daily.

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ Kai loved using these moments to get closer to you, whenever you came over any arguments that happen. Or any stress that ran through him from missions, you were able to show up just in time to help him through it.

✩˖ ࣪‧₊˚໒꒱⋆✩ Kai loved every second of it, your quiet and logical voice calming him down as you hold him close. Wishing for more moments like this but when he isn’t angry, just to feel your touch during happy, sad, or neutral moments.

You and Kai sit with pillows under yourselves on the floor with a blanket on top of both your legs, it was raining outside so there wasn’t much to do but stay indoors.

So, you thought to bring over some movies to watch together with snacks from the convenient store, Kai was so excited to hang out with you outside.

Having made plans for the both of you to spend at the park and going to get ice cream, the amusement park came to the city even.

However, with training and school, you both had to go on the last day,

Turns out the last day was when the gods decided to rain on your guy’s day. And Kai being understandably pissed, you came up with the quick solution, but it was obvious that Kai was still sulking.

He enjoyed the time with you, but he really was looking forward to spending time outside of the monastery. “Oh Kai, if you keep sulking, you’re gonna get wrinkles~” you sing placing your cup of noodles down and start to rub Kai’s back in a comforting manner.

Kai huffs as he turns away, “sorry, I just, was really looking forward to spending the day with you” you giggle,

“But we are silly.”

“y’know what I mean, more than just sitting and talking, I wanted to…take you out.” The words that Kai pushed out made you blush; your heart begins to pick up speed as you try and calm your breathing.

Your smile grows as you lay you head down on Kai’s shoulder you feel his body tense up before relaxing again.

“I like hanging out with you like this, whether we’re out or not I just want to be near you.” Your words calmed the fire ninja, so much that his frustration completely dispersed as a goofy smile crosses his lips at your caring words and physical contact.

“Heh, thanks (y/n), I just don’t wanna bore you.” You giggle again, “you’re so silly Kai, you could never bore me, even if we were watching paint dry, I’d still want to stay with you.” You close your eyes and snuggle closer to your friend loveras Kai does the same, he lays his head on yours.

Kai grabs a random snack from the bag and opens it, grabbing a chip between two fingers he gives one to you placing it close to your lips. 

You open your mouth and lean over grabbing the chip into your mouth, Kai blushes as he feels your lips brush against the tips of his fingers.

You look up at Kai and smile, seeing residue from the spicy noodles that you were eating all over your lips.

Kai smiles before bursting with laughter, “haha-oh my gosh, (y/n), you look like you got red lipstick all over your mouth-haha!” you yelp embarrassed at how you must look.

Turning away you try to find a napkin to wipe your face, “d-don’t look! Where’s a napkin!” you frantically try to find one as Kai places a hand on your wrist, “it’s oki, hah, you look cute” you huff as you try not to look away. Kai calms his laughter as he grabs a napkin from his side and starts to wipe your mouth, you can’t help but blush as Kai’s hand holds your chin to properly wipe away red broth from the spicy noodles off your lips.

“There, all clean” Kai smiles down at you as you both look at each other, the movie long forgotten, the moment you both were caught in was a change in mood. Kai brings your head up further looking down you catch a glimpse of his lips, closing your eyes you both move closer.

“Kai! Have you seen my- oh~ what’s happening here~?” Nya bursts into the room as you and Kai recline away from each other in a fast motion.  “N-Nya, get out!” Kai screams as he stands up to chase her out.

“Ooh~ you guys are getting close~” Nya teases as she cackles out the room.

“Ugh, sisters.” Kai groans.

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ At first, he thought it was because he liked your calm vibe and kind gestures towards him. It wasn’t just about the sweets…. oki maybe a little.

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ But now he finds other reasons as to why he like being around you, However, secretly, I like to think that Cole is a bit of an airhead when it comes to liking someone romantically. He chops it up to just liking you a lot as a friend, his reasons as to liking you he believes it’s innocent.

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ When his team found out of his constant outings they follow him, they figured out that he was going to you. Figuring that he likes you.

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ After confronting him later that night Cole shrugs it off as you guys being friends, but they knew better,

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ Do friends, leave lingering touches a bit too long,

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ Do friends stare at each other’s lips?

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ Or do friends stare a bit too long while blushing at the positive reaction of their jokes?

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ Then yea, you two are just the perfect friends…

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ But in all for realness, you two spend so much time together that its clear to everyone of your guy’s feelings, even if you two struggle to say them aloud.

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ But Cole figures it out sooner or later, when he caught you in the kitchen before you could fall on oil that you dropped.

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ He held you in a dip his calloused hand securely wrapped around your waist and his other hand holding yours. 

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ You both stare at each other for a moment, catching your breath and calming your heart, your cheeks turn up to smile, you always tried to cover it behind your hand. But now Cole can see it more clearly. 

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ He can see every feature of your face closely, little curls of your hair that stuck out from your pastel headwrap. A bit of flour on your cheek and nose It made you look like a cottage girl.

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ As Cole sits you up memorizing your face and looks. 

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ Cole finally realizes what his brothers were talking about and why he acts weird around you,

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ He absolutely adores you and your smile. Seeing you look at him and only him with those eyes and smile Cole finally understands why he feels as though he’s floating on air. 

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ He realizes why his heart flutters whenever you cock your head to the side and give a curious smile when you’re about to ask him something.

✧˚ ༘ ⋆｡ He knows now that seeing your smile is what he wishes for more than anything in the world.

You and Cole were walking down the city, it was your day off and you asked if Cole wanted to hang out with you,

It took a bit of convincing to ask him to come as he didn’t want to impose on your day off. He had wanted you to take it easy seeing as you had a busy week, but you were able to convince him to join you.

“We should get ice cream!” you excitedly point to an ice cream parlor, Cole hums as he seemed just as excited as you.

“Hey, that’s not a bad idea, it is getting hot” Cole puts his hands in his pocket as he follows you.

You open the door to hear a small bell go off alerting others of your arrival in the shop.

The cold air of the shop hits you, feeling it against your sweaty neck and collarbone felt like heaven.

“Ahh, that feels so goood” you smile as your stretch wanting more of the cold air to hit other parts of your body,

Cole sighs in delight as well as his body slouches feeling relaxed, “it seems everyone had your idea of getting ice cream” Cole comments as he views to packed parlor. You shrug as you try and find a table, “that’s oki, I don’t mind waiting” your smile grows as you find a table,  “look look!” you jump as you race to the table before anyone could take it, “c’mon~” you wave Cole over as he follows you shaking his head a teasing smile on his face.

“Alright, you sit, and I’ll order.” 

You nod not wanting to get up as you tell Cole what you wanted, after a bit he soon comes back with two cones, he was already devouring his taking big licks. 

You grab your cone as soon as Cole hands it over to you, you hum at the sweet taste taking small licks to savor the flavor.

“What did you get?” Cole rolls his cone over his tongue looking to you again, “rocky road” you grin as he chuckles.

“yummy” you stare at his cone grabbing Cole’s attention as he arches a brow, “wanna taste?” he holds the cone up to you, your face grows red at his smoothed down ice cream. 

“uh-uhm a-are you sure?” you stutter out as you stare down at his ice cream, “as long as I get a lick of yours” Coles words flowed out so easily does he have no shame?!

You hum as if thinking on what to do, still blushing you look away to see if anyone was looking. Seeing as no one cared you look back and stick out your tongue swiping up at his ice cream leaving a dent as to where you licked tasting chocolate. 

You retract quickly as you look to Cole seeing that he was just staring at you, you thought that he finally realized what just happened as you notice soft pink blush on his cheeks making your heart jump at his cute face.

“Can I try yours?” he finally speaks catching you out of your trance you nod and shove your cone in his face.

“ack!?” you gasp as you went a little too far having hit his nose with your ice cream, “C-Cole! I’m so sorry!” Cole looks to his nose, looking adorable.

He swipes it up with his finger and places it in his mouth, 

“Hey that’s good!” Cole smiles as you felt as though you were about to have a heart attack.

“Th-thank you..” you smile tiredly as Cole chuckles,  he looks to your blushing face, smile still painted strong as you take a swipe of your ice cream, looking down Cole looks at the dent you made when you licked his ice cream,

He blushes as he lowers his tongue and licks the same spot that you tasted. He hums as he looks back up to enjoy his view of you.

⋆˚🐾˖ “It does not feel pleasant, it feels as though my insides are going through a roller..” Zane explains as he stares off at his bird chasing a tiny sparrow awkwardly.

⋆˚🐾˖ you giggle, “that’s normal too, that’s the bodies way of saying, ‘hey I’m nervous’ there are ways to stay calm do you want to know what I do to stay calm?” you tilt your head looking up at Zane as he turns to you with blank face then nods,

⋆˚🐾˖ “yes, that would be helpful.” Zane smiles as you grab his cold hand, Zane feels his face heat up at the contact as you bring them to your lap. 

⋆˚🐾˖ “I take a deep breath-“ you inhale through your nose, “I let it sit collecting the bad thoughts-“ your voice wavers from holding in the breath as you finally release it slowly. “Then I let it go, my bad thoughts fly away into the wind.” Your smile up at Zane as you chuckle watching Zane look up as if seeing your said troubles blow away with the wind.

⋆˚🐾˖ Zane looks back down to you in admiration, wearing a cami plaid dress with matching headband and earrings, Zane’s eyes move down to your lips they were glossy and smooth. 

⋆˚🐾˖ This moment reminded him of the movie you both watched of the couple holding each other lovingly as they sealed their loving words with a kiss.

⋆˚🐾˖ “I-uhm-th-thank you” Zane tries to talk, you tilt your head as your brows furrowed with confusion, your soft smile only intensifies Zane’s feelings.

⋆˚🐾˖ The feelings that he can’t exactly pin out. “of course, Zane” you smile pulling away as you look over to the pond pointing to the swans and their family floating by.

⋆˚🐾˖ Zane watches you coo at them, pink blush on his cheek as his gears turn to calm the blush. He then smiles as he captures this memory of you two together as he does with all the rest.

“Great run boys let’s head back and get some food” Cole swung his war hammer behind his back as he stretches. 

“But we’re at the beach, it’d be a shame to not stay and use this time and relax” Jay kicks the sand pouting as Kai nods. 

“I agree with lightning, I could use a tan” Kai grins under his mask as Cole shakes his head, “We need to report back to sensei of our findings there’s plenty of time to relax, c’mon” Kai and Jay groan as the follow Cole. Kai stops however to see Zane staring down at the ground, “Hey Zane let’s go!” he calls to the nindroid causing him to jump from whatever he was looking at. “What is it, Zane? Did you find something?” Cole walks over and kneels to whatever caught their brother’s attention,

“It’s just a shell” Jay squints placing a hand on his hip. “Aw man, I thought it was something cool” Kai complains as he huffs walking away with Jay, “it’s a very beautiful shell” Zane picks it up and examines it holding it up to the light and watching the colors dance on his face. 

Cole cocks his head to the side as if trying to understand Zane, “uh yea Zane, that’s some shell” Cole walks with Zane close behind. “What’s so special about that shell anyways?” Jay pipes up as Cole and Zane catch up. “I am not sure of how to describe it, but it reminds me of (y/n)” Zane continues to stare down at the tiny shell following the ridges with his thumb. “Who?” Kai was now interested again stopping to let the others catch up to him.

“(y/n), I met her when I went out to get ingredients for dinner.” Zane spoke remembering his encounter with you, the memory made him smile as Cole puts two and two together, “ooh, you like her” Cole smiles at his ‘a-hah’ moment. 

“I enjoy her company if that is what you mean.” Zane looks to Cole, confused of what he was insinuating. “No Zane you like like her, like y’know” Jay only confuses him more as the nindroid shakes his head.

“I do not know.” The guy’s groan at the dopey nindroid, 

“Oki, how do we explain this..” Kai places a hand on his chin to think, “oki, when you’re around (y/n) how do you feel” Kai points to Zane. The group stops to wait for his answer, what does he feel when he’s around you?

Zane stares back at the small shell as if it held the answers, “I feel, happy when I am with (y/n) I feel that she genuinely understands me” Zane pauses for a moment rummaging through every interaction that he has had with you to diagnose himself and his feelings.

“But at times, I feel…nervous, she makes my sensors act up, I have to work hard to calm my system from overheating. When she displays physical contact, my gears turn fast…Are these signs of like liking someone?” Zane looks up at his friends who now had the masks up smiles on their faces.

Jay wipes a fake tear, “our little nindroid is growing up” the rest laugh as Zane stares confused, “are these feelings normal?” he tilts his head as Cole nods, “yea man completely normal. You love her and you saying how that shell reminds you of her, shows how she’s always on your mind, you should tell her that, she might feel the same!” Zane hums as he thinks back on their words. “yea Zane, you should confess, tell them what you told us!” 

“But what if they don’t harbor the same feelings as me?” Zane’s face contorts to worry as he continues to fiddle with the shell,

“Oh, well that is a possibility” Kai shoves Jay making him groan seeing as it only fueled in Zane’s worry. “No way, I’m sure she likes you too!” Cole walks over placing a hand on Zane’s shoulder, “yea man, don’t worry so much turn off that overthinking brain of yours and listen to what’s in here.” Cole points to Zane’s chest.

“My control box?” Zane goes to open it, the guys watch as a moth flies out, Cole groans as he shuts it, “no, your heart. You’re a good guy Zane your kind and compassionate, I’m sure whoever this (y/n) knows that too.” Zane processes his words as he looks down at his chest placing a hand of where his heart would be,

What is his heart saying to him?

The next day Zane met with you at the park, you both planned on going to the aquarium as they had a new exhibit. 

“Zane, hey!” you call for him waving by the fountain as he turns and runs over to you, “good morning (y/n)” you smile at how polite he was. “morning” you chirp back feeling excited for your plans, “are you ready?” you give out your hand for Zane as he pauses for a second his gears working to calm the blush on his cheeks.

“B-before we go, may I say something?” you pause as well putting your hand to your side again, “s-sure, what’s up?” you were quiet, was Zane getting tired of you? Was he telling you he didn’t want to be with you anymore? You swallow as Zane worked up the courage,

You notice him take a deep breath, holding it before letting it go. He was using your technique. 

“Zan-“ “(y/n), you make me nervous” huh, your body went stiff,  “I-I’m sorry?” he shakes his head and continues, “you make my body work hard to calm my nerves, whenever we touch I feel sparks go up to my head and my face over heats. My.. heart beats so fast that I feel that it might explode.” You take in his words your own heart beating fast and your cheeks turning pink, “my friends told me it is because I like like you, and they are right, you are sweet and patient, you help me understand new concepts of emotions that I would never have known.” 

Your eyes shine with hope of what Zane was getting at, was he…

confessing?! 

“Oh, Zane I-I don’t know what to say” you giddily hold your face calming your blush as you swoon,

“You are a dear friend to me (y/n), and I want to tell you how much I appreciate you.”

It felt like someone broke a piece of glass, you broke from your trance startled by the ‘friend’ part coming from Zane’s lips. Looking to him he hands you the shell he found on the beach, it takes you a moment to take it as you were still recovering from the unexpected…confession.

“I found this shell on the beach, it reminded me of you, so I want you to have it” he smiled with such innocents so happy for you to take the gift that he felt you would like.

So, swallowing down your feelings you reach for the shell your hands softly touch causing you both to blush. “th-thank you Zane, it’s so pretty” you chuckle admiring the shell still feeling a slight sting from the friend zone.

“Of course (y/n), I’m glad you like it, I think it’s very beautiful too” he smiles down at you making your blush worst.

Even though Zane confessed he can’t help but feel he did it wrong…

₊‧°𐐪♡𐑂°‧₊ Jay does this because he wants you to like him, he knows he has feelings for you he is just super insecure with his qualities that he’s worried that he isn’t good enough for you.

₊‧°𐐪♡𐑂°‧₊ But the moment you realize what he’s doing you assure him that he doesn’t have to pretend for you to like him,

₊‧°𐐪♡𐑂°‧₊ “silly, I already like you, you don’t have to try so hard~” you tease playfully punching his shoulder making Jay smile.

“C’mon baby c’moon!!” you shout at the screen watching as the results pulled in on your Kirby hoping the weight would push you to victory. 

“No, nooo!” Jay watches your scale run over,

The game congratulates you as the scale breaks under your Kirby you rise from the couch as you scream in victory hopping around the living room as Jay groans flopping on the couch dramatically face in his hands as he listens to your celebration.

“yeaaaa hahaha, I win Jay I win~” you cheer grinning twisting your body to the celebration music as you dance along with your celebrating Kirby

“ugh, yea yea, I was so sure I got more strawberries than you I even went back for the other berries!” Jay pouts as he side eyes your victory dance wiggle. Swaying and hopping on the balls of your feet he admits you looked really cute if you weren’t currently bragging to his face of your victory.

“Hehe, no one can beat me in Kirby games Jay” you wink grabbing the remote to increase the music on your tv continuing to dance as Jay laughs,

“Whatever, you grew up with him, you cheated” he accused pointing,

Jay continues laughing as he brings out his phone recording you and your silly dance moves. Jay starts to tap his foot along to the beat watching you dance you laugh with him as you grab his hands having him join you. 

“You got lucky” he taunts getting in your face as you giggle blushing, “no luck, all skill baby~” you wink causing Jay’s face to explode from the nickname, you wheeze as you watch Jay’s face turns red as double over holding your sides as you try to calm your laughter.

“ha ha ha, very funny” Jay slides away grabbing his switch control watching you laugh his small smile returns, “I’m sorry I’m sorry Jay” your giggles laced your words as you walk over holding onto Jay making his stomach warm as butterflies tickle him. When you calmed down you look up at him,

“Heh, wanna play animal crossing?” you grab your switch connecting its controls as you look down at the lightning bolt dustplug charm that Jay gifted you a while back.

“Yea, I need some help on decorating my place” Jay got a hold of his emotions or tried to as you come back next to him.

The moment you sat down you squeaked, “youch!” Jay jumps at your yelp, “a-are you oki?” he asks as you rub your thigh. “Yea, you just shocked me, it felt really strong though” you chuckle as you continue to sooth the shock on your thigh. 

“c’mon sit down” you usher Jay back with your hand, he was hesitant though, he must have gotten a bit flustered, and shocked you on accident. He gulps trying to calm his nerves as he sits next to you. Your thighs were touching, you felt so soft that he wanted to wrap his arms around you, “hey log on so I can fly to your island” you look at your screen as you wait for Jay to connect. “s-sure” Jay was so nervous his heart was spinning from the contact that you two shared it was making his head spin. 

“Jay?” you look up earning back his attention, you looked concerned, “are you oki, do you have a fever?” you place a hand on his forehead it was cool to his warm face as his blush skyrocketed. A squeak once again left your lips, he had shocked you..

“Geez, Jay you’re just full of electricity today~” you tease at the ninja holding your hand, Jay was still stiff, every time you touched him or spoke or even looked in his direction, he’d feel like cupid was shooting him with arrows.

“I-s-sorry” he pushes out as you shake your head with amusement you giggle softly laying down on the couch, “it’s fine, now let’s play!” you push him close to you as you landed on his island you both start doing chores as Jay plays happily next to you.

Something, something, part II about Ninja Team headcanons! Part I here

Lloyd

• He knows things he shouldn't know. Spending a good part of your life at Darkleys does that to you. That was a school for future gang leaders, psychopaths and other types of crazy people. You can't tell me that at no point in his life did he learn how to dismember someone by the right way.

• He memorized all the names of all Starfare volumes and sagas. He's a complete nerd about these comics. And it's worse when he and Jay are together.

• Sometimes, he goes out with Nya, Pixal and Skylor just to gossip. These four together talk about everything and everyone that exists in the world.

• Even during the few times of peace in Ninjago, he suffers from insomnia. Often because of nightmares and some night terrors, but also because of his genetics. Both the Oni side and the Dragon side are more nocturnal. So he often stayed up all night just because he wasn't really tired and managed to stay that way until dawn.

• Sometimes he finds himself thinking about Akita. Missing her. Those few days with the wolf girl had affected him. As much as Lloyd tries to deny it, it was better than with Harumi, in more ways than one.

• He loves sweets, but not just any kind of sweets. He likes those that are sweet and at the same time refreshing. Because this way he doesn't get sick and can eat more.

• After the battle against the Oni, he often thinks about the "dream" he had about his Grandfather. He told Master Wu once, but he just smiled and said it was a dream.

• He is extremely protective of his family. Brothers, sisters, uncle, children... You will never lay a finger on any of them and leave in Punishment if the DragOni is around.

• Being the Green Ninja and the guy who is on the front line in both defense and attack, he is very precise with his powers and strikes. One stumble and things could turn out to be fatal.

• At some point, he developed Wu's tea addiction and Garmadon's plant worship. This runs in the family and is completely inevitable.

Nya

• Her eyes were brown, exactly the color of wood, like her father's. But after spending a year as part of the ocean, Nya's eyes changed, now having prominent blue-gray spots on the irises. At some point they returned more to brown, but whenever she uses her powers on a large scale, her eyes return to the blue.

• She's better than Kai at making weapons. Swords, axes, clubs, arrows... She always had a lot of free time in her childhood and early teens, and while Kai was busy being a ninja, she had all the time in the world to practice making weapons.

• After she was brought back from the endless sea, for a long time she had these bouts of overpowering. Most of the time this manifested itself in her physical form, with the ends of her hair randomly turning blue and floating as if she were underwater. She also remained with the marks of the transformation, but this has faded over time, almost like a really old scar, you won't notice it unless you're paying close attention.

• She is equally impulsive and the voice of reason. She will think at least 20 times to make sure the punch she will hit you and break your nose.

• Don't be fooled, even though she is usually very calm and is part of the voice of reason trio Zane and Pixal are the other members, Nya can be extremely jealous. She is related to Kai and was raised by him, so she ended up getting this overprotective and jealous instinct. Jay and Lloyd are the main targets of this instinct, because they are her Yin and her little brother. Although she often tries to hide it or not care, she will always end up being somewhat possessive of her loved ones.

• She can still hear the voice of the ocean, more specifically, Nyad. But this time they're not calling out to her, they're congratulating her on finding what she lost.

• She is a master of Aikido, I just think it's matches with her, being the Water Ninja, she long ago learned to go with the flow of the fight. Water never takes you where you want to go, you are the one carried by the force of its flow. Some time later, she trained Lloyd in this style.

• The amount of times she called Kai "dad" as a child is insane. She used to call him that in the most mundane tasks that used to remind her of Ray. Kai held back crying every time that she called him that.

• She was never a heavy sleeper, always having difficulty for fall sleeping and often waking up in the middle of the night. This only got better after she started living at the Monastery, as she felt that so much Kai and she were safer.

• She has a collection of weapons. Swords and spears are what she collects most, she keeps most of them hidden in Samurai X's cave, but there are also some in her room, for emergency purposes and also because she thinks it makes the decor look cool.

Zane

• I got this from some post, but I don't remember who the author was He talks in his sleep. At some point in his life some parts of the voice control were damaged and even after Nya and Jay took a look he continued talking in his sleep. He just can't stop. The worst is on nights when he has nightmares, as he begins not only to scream, but to narrate the dream, right down to the noises in the scene.

• Every time he gets very nervous he starts to freeze himself or the people and things around him. He tends to distance himself when this happens, as he prefers to freeze his own circuits than the people he loves.

• Sometimes he refuses to sleep, not for any worrying reason, but because he wants to do some tasks that he couldn't do while it was daylight. Washing the dishes, sweeping the training yard, putting the clothes to wash... Any household chore that he didn't do due to some unforeseen circumstances, he does at night.

• Whenever he hears an unfamiliar term or slang, he tends to do a quick search. If he doesn't find the meaning, he will ask Jay or Kai later, since they are the two who most spend time online.

• The Ice Emperor episode left him with a lot of trauma as well as some survivor's guilt. Zane never stopped to think that he could actually kill frozen people or commit genocide if his 1s and 0s weren't actually aligned correctly. He never forgave himself and started using his powers less.

• Birds are his favorite animals, of course. But there's one thing no one knows: He can't decide between the hawk or the snowy owl as his favorite kind of bird.

• He has a mental list of all the food preferences of all his ninjas and other friends.

• In the hottest summers, the ninjas fight to spend time with Zane, as he is a walking air conditioner. He finds this particularly funny and always laughs when they start arguing with each other.

• He and Pixal often play board games and experiment human things.

• Before discovering he was a Nindroid, Zane often did non-human things that others found strange. One time, when it was just him, Cole and Jay, they went out on a little scouting mission, and in the middle of the whole thing they ran into some highwaymen who they ended up fighting, and in the middle of the fight, Zane hit his head on a rock, and while Jay and Cole were in complete panic Zane was confused because he didn't feel hurt. The next few days were filled with worry and jokes about Zane being a blockhead.

Saw some folks point out that Lilly was most likely like the youngest in the Alliance, since her dad fought alongside Libby, Ray, and Maya in the War.

Consider, Even if this is more of me throwing a little bit of AU out there: Her father dies when she's twelve, and wanting to keep all the elemental masters together, Wu and Garmadon bring her into the Elemental Alliance, knowing that she already had the powers of Earth.

The other elemental masters freak out because,,, *points* that is a CHILD.

But they also understand that if she was left to her own devices (her mother passed when she was really little) then she could put herself or others in grave danger with her powers.

They absolutely deck little Lilly out in impressive weapons and battle armor.

Now here we go into heavy headcanons/au territory.

With Libby being the second youngest EM in the group, her and Lilly form a close bond.

Like her parents, Ed and Edna, Libby is great at creating things. She LOVES building- mechs, especially. With Libbys help, Lilly's first mech (the one donated to TOS I've decided) was created.

Yes they may have gone all out on safety features on the mech, but would you completely trust a twelve year old with a very large elemental mech?

One day she brings over a boy. Wu and Garmadon are WORRIED because the boy is NOT an elemental master, he doesn't even know anything about fighting. She is sixteen and could punch the head clean off someone's shoulders with her powers...

These two are worried the most because they personally made it their mission to make sure the EMs were ot being hunted or used for their powers. So, bringing in a non EM into the fold was deemed risky.

They of course warm up to Lou, who thinks Lilly is the coolest person in the world and he learns basic self defense from her.

The EM Alliance falls apart when she is only 20 . *I say that bc everyone looks like they may be in their 50's, mid-late 50's after the Merge With Lilly being a decade younger well .. she would've been a decade younger at least :/*

She gets sick after she defeats Grief-Bringer. It wasn't bad at first, she honestly just thought she may have caught a cold. Also yes, in my headcanons and AUs Cole has been born when she goes to Shintaro. I have another post going into an au-headcanon mashup (I say headcanons because it isn't necessarily disproved by canon) that I kinda want to write about some day.

Knowing she was going to get worse, she started working on making sure Cole was prepared to become the next Master of Earth. When she was feeling well enough she would leave the house (unfortunately she also didn't tell Lou where she was going most of the time fidjxjsjshd)

Refused to pass on afterwards and instead keeps an eye on her family. Is the reason SOMEONE survives stuff that he shouldn't have.

Fun Facts about Lilly!!! That are canon in my stories!!!

- She is a realm hopper. Yes this is based on the fact that she apparently spied on Garmadon while he was in the Underworld in that one comic. I haven't read it but you know. I want to do something with that knowledge.

- she isn't in the Departed Realm especially after the Merge. She's trying to keep an eye on Cole while trying to find her husband and her friends. She found Wu first, of course. And with Wu, she found Garmadon. Before the Merge she would switch between watching over Lou and Cole.

- She is the only Previous EM of Ninjago to participate in the TOS, which may or may not be canon. I say this bc of that outfit and you know... The mech....

-Cole is 9, she is 29 when she dies. Also it's freaking sad because ain't no way Ray and Maya knew this until almost a decade later. Wu keeps a close eye on him and Lou afterwards. You know since he was canonically there for his birth hello??? *According to the comic*

- fun fact about me it literally took me 6 hours to write all this in one setting bc I was at work. Lilly did this to me.

Also, if there are any timeline problems that aren't just me pushing it for the AU tell me about it so I can fix it please I don't want it to be too off the course!!!

HI NINJAGO FANDOM THIS IS MY OC BELLADONNA :33 (prefers to go by Bella/Bels)

Belladonna is the elemental master of sorcery, her main powers being the following:

- Enchantment: The capacity to imbue objects with magical properties or enchantments. (she usually enchants her weapon so that it does more damage and she can cast spells with it)

-Mystical Shielding: The ability to create magical shields or barriers for protection against physical or magical attacks. (This is usually her go to spell because not only can it serve as defense, she can also use it to push enemies or people around)

-Curses and Hexes: The capacity to place curses or hexes on others, affecting their luck, health, or well-being. (This is one of her abilities that she tends to use more in her free time, the other ninja don’t know it but Belladonna often place hexes on them- but not the bad kind, often ones that give them more luck or make them a bit happier. It’s her way of showing that she cares, even though she rarely would admit it in front of any of them)

Belladonna’s weapon is a whip katana, basically like the one Mitsuri from Demon slayer uses:

The reason why this weapon is beneficial to her elemental power is because by using her enchantment abilities, Belladonna can enchant the weapon and channel her power to cast spells and create stronger barriers and deal a great amount of damage to her opponent. With this whip katana, Belladonna undergoes rigorous strength and speed conditioning as well as flexibility training in order to manipulate this weapon correctly.

Belladonna’s spinjitsu is the same color as her powers as seen on the reference sheet (pretty self explanatory)

In her character sheet I included her uniform, which I did my best to replicate the most recent canon uniforms which are from Dragons Rising, I am aware there are some details missing but l did my best to make it canon accurate!!

The other outfit is just an example of one of her casual outfits so that the viewer could get an idea of her clothing style.

Some details about Belladonna:

-Loves tarot cards and doing card readings

-pothead (it’s an addiction that I intend to have explored in her story since it’s an unhealthy coping mechanism for her)

-One of Belladonna’s many hidden insecurities is about her body. She feels that she isn’t feminine enough due to her muscular body (and among other reasons). It’s a topic Belladonna would never dare to talk about with anyone, even to those closest to her (which is another thing I intend on exploring as I develop her character)

-Another insecurity Belladonna has is that she doesn’t feel worthy of being a ninja with the others, since her given element is more of a “secondary” element compared to the “primary” ones (fire, water, earth, etc.).

-While Belladonna’s primary music taste is rock and alternative music (something along those lines), her dirty secret is that she has a soft spot for N-pop (ninjago-pop)

-When Belladonna has been training as a ninja since she was young/the same age as the main 4, in her early days Master Wu was a father figure to her by soothing her worries about not being worthy enough to be on the team. As Belladonna got older, she became more and more distant and turned to the aforementioned unhealthy coping mechanisms in order to deal with herself.

-She has definitely woken up everyone in the monastery at least once at like 3 am while high so she could give them a card reading

-Before becoming a ninja, Belladonna grew up on the streets of Ninjago City, having to steal from others in order to provide for herself

“43! 44! 45!” Jay cheers, watching his best friend power through a set of pull-ups, sweat shining on his pinched brow.

Cole raises his chin above the steel bar with visible effort, reaching the end of his endurance after the past 2 hours of training their bodies with weights and various exercises. He hangs on the bar and breathes hard, flipping the hair damp with exertion out of his eyes. 

“How many left?” He says between deep inhales, his chest rising and falling. 

The ginger quickly counts on his fingers, “5, 45 was your set last week.” Cole groans and throws his head back. 

“Dude come on! It’s just 5! That’s like, a little more than 3. You can do 3 more and then some!” 

“But I don’t wannaaaaaaa…” The other whines, slowly kicking his legs in the air like a child on the monkey bars being told they have to leave. 

“I’ll give you one of my pudding cups if you do 55,” Jay says with a salesman’s smirk. Cole looks up quickly, a drop of sweat flying from the speed. 

“50.” He bargains, baring his sweet tooth with a small smile. 

“53.” 

“51.” 

“Deal,” Jay says, confident that given how tired the other already is, he won’t be able to win the bet.

The black ninja adjusts his grip and takes a deep breath, gathering himself before pulling himself up with a strained grunt. 

“46!” Jay resumes his rallying as he watches his friend’s chin slowly go past the bar. “47!” 

Cole’s mouth is twisted into a grimace as he shakes with strain, becoming more and more aware of how heavy his body is. “48! Come on Cole!” The motivation from the other was starting to get annoying, but he knew that the minute he asked Jay to stop talking, the ginger would either start talking even more just to mess with him or Cole’s stamina would 

disappear. He couldn’t explain how it worked, like how he couldn’t explain the difference between baking soda and baking powder. They were both white, went into the batter, and had ‘baking’ in the name, why don’t they work the same??

“49!! You’re so close, dude!” Jay’s enthusiasm was a little odd considering how defensive he could be of his sweets. If anybody had a bigger sweet tooth than the guy who was famous for eating cake, it would be Jay. The only one who could beat them both in that area would be Lloyd. The sweaty man didn’t think much of it, the taxing action of pulling himself up demanding his focus. 

Cole hung from the bar to catch his breath again, panting hard from the burning in his arms and core. 

“Dude don’t stop now, you got 2 left-“ 

“I know, Jay! Doing this shit is hard,” He interrupted, huffing and flipping the pesky strands of sticky hair out of his eyes again. “I just need a minute.” 

“Ok. 1, 2, 3-“

“Oh First Master, you big baby.” Cole laughed as he lightly kicked at the other man, “You need to work with Wu on your patience.” 

“And you need to do 2 more pull-ups, chop chop!” Jay retorted sassily, poking Cole’s side with a finger to make his point known and felt. 

“Knock it off!” Cole laughed while squirming on the bar. “I can’t focus if you’re acting like a toddler.” 

“But you can focus on Ninja Kart when Lloyd is screaming in all our ears about the game being rigged?” 

“That’s different.” 

“Not really.” 

“Is too!” 

“Is not!” 

“I’ll argue about this later.” Cole shook his head, adjusting his hands. 

“When? After your hands fuse to the bar from hanging there so long?” 

“After you can do the same amount of pushups as me.” The black ninja looked down with an obnoxious smile. 

“Wow. That’s low.” Jay remarked, crossing his arms and staring with the expression of a bratty child being told ‘no’.

“Not as low as you should be on your pushups.” 

“Ok, you know what?!” The ginger huffed, “You’ve lost your pudding privileges!” Cole’s mouth opened in fake shock and disappointment, letting go of the bar seeing that his friend had stopped counting in favor of falling into the argument trap. 

“I’ll just have to steal one when you aren’t looking.” The other smiled mischievously as he slowly windmilled his arms, quickly getting a furious glare. “Do we have anything else on the workout regime today?” He asked as he crouched to take a swig from his water bottle. Jay pulled his phone from the pocket of his loose gym shorts and looked through the list of exercises he had written down from Wu. Skimming the ones the pair had already done, he reaches the bottom of the list, and lets out an obnoxious groan. “What?” Cole questions with a raised eyebrow, wiping his neck with a small towel.

“We have to do a plank for 2 minutes or more,” Jay complains. 

“Planks are easy, though.” The earth ninja said. 

“Says you mountain man! Not all of us have the core strength of a literal continent.” Jay shoots back, his nose scrunching in aggravation with his hands on his hips. 

“Sucks to suck, doesn’t it triple A?” 

“Shut up and get on the floor, dirt boy.” Jay shot back, getting a timer ready on his phone as Cole laughed. The earth ninja took another drink of his water before shutting the cap and lying stomach down on the tatami mat, letting a curt moan slip as his propped elbows stretched his upper back. “Ok, ready?” The other sat beside Cole, crossing his legs with his thumb over the start button. 

“Yup.” The ninja on the floor answered, shifting his arms to hold his weight better. With a ‘Go’ from Jay, Cole tightened his core and raised his middle, inhaling deeply and closing his eyes in concentration. 

The lightning ninja watched the seconds tick by on his phone, occasionally flicking his eyes to make sure Cole’s back was straight. 6, 7, 8, 9…

And now Jay was bored. 

“Coooooole, I’m bored.” He said out loud, laying on his back. Cole responded by letting out a long exhale. “Wow, rude. You won’t even answer your best friend’s immediate suffering. Right next to you!” 

“Shut up, Jay,” Cole warned, not opening his eyes. “Count the threads in the mat or something.” The ginger huffed, holding up his phone over his head to recheck the timer. 18, 19, 20… He sat back up to stare at Cole’s back. The loose black tank top he was wearing hung from his torso, showing a bit of his sides and stomach. Jay looked back to Cole’s face, still tightly knit with focus. 

There was a seed of an idea, one Cole might hate him for. The black ninja did not like being interrupted; napping, eating, drawing, and working out were all things the noiret would prefer to not be taken away from if it could be helped. Training especially was a way for him to take his mind off of the outside world, and he was always working to make himself stronger and better at fighting. It was admirable, but it could lead to some unhealthy expectations… 

Jay scooched himself to face Cole’s side, placing his chin on his palm as he watched a few more seconds go by. A smile crawled its way on his face as the idea became more and more appealing, and he tried to hide it with his hand despite the fact the other’s eyes were still closed and facing away from him anyway. Another glance at the phone told him Cole was 35 seconds into his plank. 

“Hey Cole, your form is incorrect.” The blue ninja lied, trying not to let his smile become obvious. That got his best friend to react, turning his head and giving Jay a confused look. “Raise your back riiiiight…here.” He reached a pointed finger towards Cole’s exposed side, repeating his earlier action when Cole was hanging on the pull-up bar. A snort, and a quick inhale. 

“Jay- don’t.” The other protested, trying to keep a stern voice. 

“What? I’m just trying to help.”  He knew it was a bullshit lie, especially coming from him, but Jay was having too much fun. “You need to fix your form here too.” He continued prodding at Cole’s side, moving up to his ribs. The black ninja was beginning to shake now, a combination of strained effort and giggles. 

“Duhude! I can’t- my forhorm is fihihine!” Cole laughed, now completely unable to keep a serious face as Jay lightly tickled him. The other was frankly impressed that he hadn’t collapsed yet, especially when he began to trace lines on the exposed small of his back, the laughter going up in pitch. “Jahahay!” 

“Wow Cole, I didn't think your plank would be this bad. We should work on doing planks more often so you can get out of this bad habit.” Jay paid zero attention to Cole’s crumbling endurance and was having the time of his life doing so. “You need to raise your hips too, they’re way low.” Cole let out a short shriek as Jay squeezed his hip.

“AAH! Dickhehehead!” He laughed, trying to breathe through his tight stomach and the giggles at the same time. 

“Hey, it's not my fault your form needs correcting!” 

Cole’s endurance finally emptied, and he collapsed onto the floor, now able to try and squirm away from Jay’s evil hands. “This is nohohohot cohorrectihihihihing! You ahahahahass!!” He yelled, curling in on himself on his side to try and avoid the tickles. 

“Awww man! You didn’t make the time.” The ginger huffed with mock disappointment, latching his fingers to random ribs and tasing them. The reaction was immediate, Cole’s belly laugh coming solid and loud as he thrashed on the tatami mats under his best friend. “Consider this payback for being rude when I was just trying to help!” 

“YOUHOUHOU DID NOHOHOHOT HEHEHEHELP!” The earth ninja exclaimed between laughs, his own hands trying and failing to pry the others from his sides. 

“Help comes in many forms, Cole. You need to be a little more open-minded.” Jay retorted, channeling his element to send harmless shocks through his fingers to tickle the ninja’s ribs even more. “Like right now, I’m helping you get used to my electricity.” 

“JAHAHAHAHAHAY!!” He was fighting for his life now, throwing himself from one side to the other to try and buck the other off. It was proving to be a difficult task, as Jay had somehow managed to straddle Cole’s hips as he lay on his stomach, scrabbling at the floor to try and crawl away from the tickling. “MERCYHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE!” 

“I’ll grant mercy if you promise not to steal any of my pudding.” The blue ninja offered, stopping the shocks but keeping his fingers scribbling at the same speed. The black ninja 

continued to writhe under his friend, trying to reach his hands behind to shoo Jay’s hands away. But when Jay shoved his fingers into his armpits and began scratching, a renewal of energy made Cole buck and screech. 

“FUHUHUHUCK! I WOHOHOHOHON’T!” 

“You woooooon't?” Jay pestered, tilting his head as he dragged the word out and diving his hand into the scrunched crevice of his friend’s neck to scribble at. 

“I WON’T STEHEHEHEAL YOUR PUHUHUHUDDIHIHIHIHING!” Cole managed to get out, gulping air as Jay stopped. He let his body lay completely flat on the cool floor, his back twitching while residual giggles leaked out in between breaths. His best friend crawled off his hips and pushed his water bottle to him across the floor. Cole looked at the bottle, and then at Jay. “Dick.” He said sourly. 

“In the flesh.” Jay acknowledged with obnoxious triumph, crossing his legs and turning off the timer as Cole turned on his back to sit up and drink his water. “You had 17 seconds left! You could’ve made that.” 

“I could’ve if you weren’t being a total jackass.” Cole said while rolling his eyes, putting his water down, and grabbing his phone from the floor, tossed aside in the roughhousing. His friend chortled with fake innocence and laid down for his plank, staring at the intricate patterns of the threading while the timer was readied. 

“Ok, are you all set?” The taller man said, patiently biding his time while Jay nodded. He started the timer, and the ginger held up his body while taking a deep breath. Cole watched the numbers on the timer slowly ticking down, already figuring out what the best way to get back at his best friend would be.  

He cracked his knuckles absently and watched Jay struggle to hold his plank. Although the master of lightning was still an incredibly strong fighter, he had been teased by the others for his weak core strength. He didn’t have abs like Kai or Nya, instead having lean muscles. Although this worked to his advantage so he could move faster in fights, it also meant he didn’t have that much endurance when it came to these kinds of exercises. 

“Jay, will you do me a favor?” Cole asked, not even trying to fight a huge smile as he plotted. The other hummed, taking a shaky breath. “Hold still.” The reaction was immediate; Jay whipped his head to stare at Cole with eyes the size of Zane’s shurikens. He noticed that Cole had moved his hand to hover under his stomach, his fingers in a claw form. 

“Wait- Waitwaitwait Cole you don’t have to-” The hand hadn’t even touched his stomach yet and he was already trying to reason for his life in between nervous giggles. He knew that Cole would always get any of them back for that kinda stuff, but he didn’t think his teammate would do it this soon.

“No, I think I do, Jay. Fair’s fair after all, right?” He gave a condescending smile as Jay’s trembling increased. Cole reached his still hand up, just touching down on the black tank top that covered the planking torso. The blue ninja let out a small shriek, now realizing that he had backed himself into a very dangerous corner. 

“What? I’m just helping with your form after all.” Cole said with a mocking tone, slowly moving his fingers and taking great joy in the way his friend sucked in a breath to stop himself from laughing. Strained snorts prompted Cole to move his hand in a circular motion around where his belly button would be. Jay immediately folded inward, cackling as Cole’s fingers picked up speed. 

“AHAHahaha- IhI’m sorry! WAHAHAAAIT- Cohohohole please!” He tried to negotiate, even if he knew that once Cole started, he wasn’t going to until he had made his point clear.

“You know? I don’t think you are. I don’t think you’re sorry at all.” His tickler retorted casually, effortlessly pulling him into his lap so he could reach better. Cole wrapped an arm around his chest and scribbled his fingers into the top of his ribs, tickling his stomach with his other hand as if it were not ‘agony’ for the blue ninja. Jay’s laughter went up in pitch as he tried to pull himself free of Cole’s arm, kicking his legs and hitting the floor with his heels. 

“NONONOHOHOHO! Cohohohole plehehehease!! UhuhuhUHUNCLE!!” He laughed with a touch of hysteria. 

“I don’t think your uncle’s coming to save you.” Cole teased playfully, his tone becoming dark as his smile turned sinister through his cheeks. “The only person who’s here is…” 

“DOHOHOhohon’t!! Don’t sahahahay ihihit!” Jay pleaded as he flushed, his face already warm from how hard he was laughing. 

“Don’t say what?” Cole asked, his smile growing with mischief. “Don’t say…the tickle monster?!” 

Jay’s fate had been sealed as Cole’s hands swiped under his tank top, quickly scribbling all over the ticklish skin. Jay squealed and thrashed in his friend’s hold, a rush of adrenaline washing his energy back into him. He laughed even harder as he felt tiny raspberries on his neck and shoulders, his supposed best friend continuing to tickle him out of his mind. 

“COHOHOHOHOHOHLE! NOHOHO MOHOHOHOHORE!” He tried to beg through snorts and chortles, shaking his head as if trying to wiggle the tickles out of his body. 

“No can do, you’ve got-” He leaned over to look at his phone, still tickling his squirming target. “A minute and 18 seconds left.” The black ninja smiled, squeezing the man’s hip with one hand and his opposite side with the other. Jay’s mirth went up in pitch again as he tried rocking his body to get out of the stone-stiff hold. 

“GYAHAHAHAHA! YOUHOU DIHIHIHIHICK!!” The ginger argued as if he were not in the worst position ever to do so. Still fighting against his friend’s arms, he reached for the other’s knees and flailed to grab them, trying to push himself forward. This escape attempt backfired when a hand immediately began scratching at one of the exposed armpits, making Jay snap his arms down and fall back against his friend’s chest.

“Not so fast bud, gotta finish your time.” Cole said, looking down at his friend with a smile, taking a little too much enjoyment out of his squirming. 

“I CAHAHAHAHAHAN’T! PLEHEHEHEASE NOHOHO-” 

“So what exactly is going on here?” A different voice interrupted, making both look to the sliding door. Nya stood with a hand on her hip, her other hand holding the door open as she watched with a vaguely confused expression. 

“Oh, hey Nya. We’re finishing our workout, what’s up?” The earth ninja said calmly, not stopping his fingers or acknowledging Jay on the brink of falling apart from laughing so hard. 

“NYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HEHEHEHELP MEHEHEHEHEHE!” He begged, looking at his girlfriend with small tears in his eyes. His expectation that the water ninja would jump in to save him was soundly destroyed when Nya only gave a small smile as if his torture was endearing to her. 

“Wu said lunch is ready. Come to the table when you’re done, ok?” She said loudly over the laughter, taking mental notes on where Cole’s hands were and how badly Jay was laughing. She’d abuse that information another day. 

“Sure thing, thanks Nya!” The taller man said chipperly, spidering his hands up and down Jay’s sides as he gave a blameless smile, watching Nya huff out a chuckle and walk away. Mercifully, and because his best friend was starting to wheeze, he stopped his hands and let them come to the floor to support himself while leaning back. Taking the opportunity, Jay weakly rolled out of the ninja’s lap as his chest heaved, pulling down his raised tank top that exposed his giant tickle spot of a stomach. “You didn’t make your time either. We’re even.” His ‘friend’ said cooly, looking down at him with a smug grin. Jay tried and failed to muster up a glare, the residual giggles and ghostly tingles forcing him to shuffle away toward his water bottle as he kept his eyes on Cole, who was turning off the timer on his phone. 

“You’re..still…a dick.” He said between large inhales, gulping his water down as if he were going to die otherwise. 

“What? Fair’s fair, right?” Cole teased, wiggling his fingers before folding them into a fist and holding it out. A peace offering, which the other squinted at suspiciously over the cap of his bottle. He wasn’t new to Cole’s tricks, being best friends with him taught Jay to be on his guard the hard way. “I promise I’m done. Swear on my chili.” The black ninja tried, moving his still fist a little closer. He watched his teammate think for a bit, and then hold up his hand to make it into a fist, bumping the dark knuckles against his freckled ones. 

“Truce. No takebacks.” The blue ninja said quickly, eyeing his friend with lighthearted distrust. 

“Sure, I’ll just take a pudding cup as a bargaining chip.” Cole snarked, quickly taking off and running down the hall where Nya had gone earlier.

“YOU MOUNTAIN CLIMBING CUNT!” Jay screeched, stumbling to his feet and speeding after his friend, laughter following the two of them all the way to the dining room, where Wu scolded the both of them for running in the halls.

4K UHD Review: The Guyver

Following in the wildly successful footsteps of Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Guyver takes a (relatively) grounded approach to its outlandish source material — in this case, a Japanese manga series — without divorcing itself from its comic book roots. Produced by Brian Yuzna (Re-Animator, Society), the 1991 film is directed by special effects wizards Screaming Mad George (Society, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master) and Steve Wang (Predator, The Monster Squad).

As the Star Wars-esque expository opening crawl explains, mankind was created by aliens as an organic weapon. The evil Chronos corporation is further developing a technology that allows humans to change into "super monster soldiers" known as Zoanoids for world domination. The only viable defense against them is The Unit, a piece of bio-booster alien armor that increases a human's natural powers a hundredfold, turning them into The Guyver.

Mark Hamill's top billing may lead you to believe that he's the titular hero, but he instead plays a supporting role as a CIA agent investigating Chronos. The real lead is Jack Armstrong (Student Bodies) as Sean Barker, an amateur martial artist who's the only person that can activate The Unit. When his girlfriend (Vivian Wu, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III) is endangered, Sean utilizes his newfound powers to take down Chronos and the Zoanoids.

Armstrong is a bland lead, but it's not entirely his fault. In addition to a mustachioed Hamill channeling Colombo, he has to compete with several scene-stealing character actors. Re-Animator's David Gale chews the scenery as the malevolent head of Chronos, briefly reuniting with Jeffrey Combs as the company's scientist, Dr. East (get it?). Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes) plays Gale's right-hand Zoanoid with Jimmie Walker (Good Times) as his rapping goon. Linnea Quigley (The Return of the Living Dead) cameos as a scream queen.

But the real stars of the show are the creatures, the designs of which showcase boundless creativity. The Guyver looks like Ultraman by way of Clive Barker, and each Zoanoid adopts a different animal's traits. While a number of other artists were employed to pull off the myriad of monsters, George and Wang's fingerprints are all over the effects, imbuing the alien superhero movie with some disturbing body-horror.

Jon Purdy's script deviates significantly from source material not only in terms of story but also tone. While some of the manga's dark atmosphere and violence remain intact, it's undercut by goofy humor in an attempt to appeal to a younger demographic. Fans of Yoshiki Takaya's original creation were no doubt disappointed (Wang attempted a bit of a course correction with his 1994 sequel, Guyver: Dark Hero), but the tonal confusion is actually charming.

Originally cut down to a PG-13 rating in the US, The Guyver has been newly restored in 4K from the original, R-rated 35mm camera negative with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 options for Unearthed Films' 4K UHD + Blu-ray release. Far removed from the days of Jaws and Alien in which the monster was largely hidden in shadows, George and Wang put their creations on full display — and even with a crystal-clear restoration, the in-camera effects shine.

Two new audio commentaries are included. The first is a lively one with George and Wang, moderated by Budget Biomorphs: The Making of The Guyver Films author Dom O’Brien. It's not the most informative track — the filmmakers admit to not having seen the film in over two decades — but they're enjoying themselves so much that it hardly matters. The second commentary features creature crew members "Evil" Ted Smith and Wyatt Weed, who delve into the nitty-gritty of the effects.

Yuzna and George each sit down for thorough new interviews. Yuzna reveals that he's been approached about a remake, but the rights are complicated, while George's infectious energy lasts the entire 56 (!) minutes. Creature suit camera test footage is included with commentary options from George and Wang or Smith and Weed, while outtakes and a gag reel feature George and Wang commentary.

Other extras include: alternate title sequences in English, German and Spanish; English, German, Spanish, and French trailers (all carrying the alternate title Mutronics); and extensive promotional and production galleries. The collector's edition also comes with the soundtrack CD composed by Matthew Morse (Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker) and a booklet featuring liner notes by O’Brien and Morse.

The Guyver is available now on 4K UHD via Unearthed Films.

People give him way too much shit for not telling the Ninja stuff from the get go, and don’t consider the legitimate reasons why he wouldn’t do so.

This poor man is old and traumatized.

Besides, he hardly ever had reason to tell them anyway. He really should’ve told them about Acronix, and maybe the Overlord, but he didn’t even know the others would return. Morro? Man left and never came back. Asphera? She was imprisoned until the Ninja released her. He really didn’t have any reason to mention them before hand.

Why would he trauma dump his students for no reason?

Everyone hush, the real reason Wu keeps withholding information is because he's afraid if he says too much in the wrong time the ninja would go evil on him

Pull of The Tides: my silly ninjago pirate au

idek where to start so.

A little after Morro runs away from Wu, he starts looking for the First Spinjitsu Master's tomb. Obviously not getting much luck, he finds a harbor town, and a strange demon woman who promises to help him exact his revenge on destiny. Resuming his search for the FSM's tomb, he turns to the seas after hearing rumors the tomb is at the bottom of the ocean, and starts a small but strong group of pirates on a stolen boat.

A few years later, he raids a village through it's rivers for rice and money, and finds a blacksmith shop with a small boy challenging him with a crude sword. His smaller sister stands behind him, yelling at him to get out.

Instead of fighting them, Morro takes them with his crew and raises them like siblings, learning they have elemental powers like him: the girl controlling water, and the boy controlling fire. Immediately Morro begins training them in combat and helping them control their powers, both so that they can be of use to him and so they don't sink his ship. The girl, being named Nya 'Waterwalker' Jiang, and the boy named Kai 'Flint' Jiang.

About 10 years go by, and Wu becomes very confused to find an empty blacksmith's shop, one that looks like it's empty for quite some time. Asking nearby neighbors gets him dead ends and more confusion, so he goes back to the monastery empty handed and continues training his own students, Jay, Cole and Zane.

However, when they get an emergency letter from a coastal village asking for defense from pirates with elemental powers, things start to click. Wu finds a familiar face on the captain draped in green commanding wind, and two others who bear a striking resemblance to his missing friends, Ray and Maya.

Wu tells his former student that whatever he's looking for, he'll have to go through him and his students. Captain Morro informs him that his quest for his father's tomb has been abandoned, and his crew is now looking for something- or someone- more powerful: the green ninja.

It becomes a race against each other to find whoever and wherever this green ninja is, with Morro somehow ending up with another kid who says he's the son of Lord Garmadon himself. He's a brat. Morro's not too sure why he's still on the ship.

@emerald-cloud23 HI OKAY YES ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE. Euprhasia is so important to me I'm so glad you asked JFHEKTJ (Morro too obviously but yk.). This is going to be a bit long, apologies in advance.

Dragons rising season 1 spoilers if that matters to anyone.

- To start off, the difference between Euphrasia's quote of "Time to make *our* own destiny!" and Morro's "Well *I* make my own destiny!" Is incredibly important to me. Euphrasia is connecting herself to those around her from the start, even when defining herself, whereas Morro defined himself *by* being set apart from everyone else.

- Something that immediately stood out to me was how Euphrasia's first major beginning moment as the master of wind is by being the main force used to drive back massive tentacled monsters out of/in order to protect cloud kingdom and back into a rift. This is such a contrast to how Morro's story ended, with him summoning a giant tentacled monster from a portal and destroying a Stiix in order to see it through.

- Speaking of Euphrasia's first fight, she is consistently using her elemental powers as a support for others. She saves Arin and Sora from falling, she helps the ninja launch spinjitsu attacks, and while she does still do damage herself, she prioritizes finding ways to support the others.

Morros style is not based in teamwork that way at all. Even with his ghost gang, he usually has them doing their own separate thing. "I control the wind, YOU control the situation" and all that jazz. He climbs the peak to blind man's eye on his own, confronts the ninja on his own, confronts nya and lloyd on his own, etc etc etc. When he has his gang do stuff, like distract Nya or the other ninja, he's normally watching from the side, or doing his own separate task. He's using the wind to get on the offensive or to get *himself* out of harms way.

- all in all, Morro uses the wind for offense and agility, Euphrasia uses it for defense and support.

- Euphrasia greatly values her culture, community and loved ones, to the point where she was intending to forgo use of her elemental power entirely in order to remain with them, AND risked exile in order to protect them. After she was able to reveal her power and wasn't shunned for it, she stayed on at the Cloud Kingdom as its protector.

We don't know where Morro came from, who his parents were, any of that. He had Wu and that was it. His entire identity was forged around what he wanted to become, instead of who he was to begin with.

- A more obvious one is their personalities, I feel the differences are pretty clear and I don't need to specify a whole lot but a big one is Morro's arrogance vs. Euphrasias uncertainty, especially as it translates to being a wind elemental.

I really love the choice to have Euphrasia wanting to write her own destiny but taking it in an entirely different direction than Morro did. Every element seems to have some concept that connects one master to the next, and I don't think Wind is any different.

Emperor of Ninjago

• The land of Ninjago has been at peace after being under the reign of the First Master of Spinjitzu, thanks to his legendary battle against the Overlord and his stone army, Ninjago has been at peace since then and became a great Emperor to all the kingdoms that were established in their land. Now that he knew that the time for his departure was approaching he knew that he must prepare his two sons, Garmadon and Wu, to be able to continue with the task of protecting the land of Ninjago.

• The first task of his two sons was to find all the elemental masters who settled in the various kingdoms of Ninjago, so that all of them could form the elemental alliance that would protect the kingdoms. Furthermore, thus the First Master would choose the four main elements that would become the main protectors of the kingdom and its precious Four Golden Weapons, powerful tools that the First Master used to defeat the Overlord.

• The Four Golden Weapons are: The Sword of Fire, The Sickle of Earthquakes, The Shurikens of Ice, and The Nunchakus of Lightning. After his children returned with some of the elemental masters, the First Master chose the masters of fire, lightning, earth and ice, as those chosen to be the protectors of the kingdom of Ninjago and to be the bearers of the Golden Weapons. The four masters even went on to become leading generals of the royal guard of Ninjago.

• The Four Weapons falling into the wrong hands could mean the end of Ninjago since weapons are the key to maintaining balance throughout Ninjago and revealing the new successor who will possess the golden power of the First Master.

• Reaching an advanced age, the First Master chose his eldest son, Garmadon, as the new emperor of Ninjago, who also possessed the power of destruction thanks to his Oni offspring. The First Master trained Garmadon to be a great Emperor, while his youngest son, Wu, was trained to be the Master of the Elemental Alliance, even Garmadon appointed his brother as his main advisor and second in command.

• Before dying, the First Master bequeathed to his children a prophecy that he saw in his last visions, the prophecy spoke of how the legendary Green Ninja, his true heir, would come to the world by being chosen by the four Golden Weapons and definitively defeating the Supreme Lord, who was sealed by the First Master on the Dark Island after failing to be completely defeated by the First Master during their battle long ago. The First Master left much information about the prophecy and Wu took it upon himself to discover its meaning.

• When Garmadon became Emperor after the death of the First Master, Wu took charge of the training of the Elemental Masters and their heirs, and following in his father's footsteps Garmadon became a good emperor, while Garmadon was in charge of the politics and order in the kingdom, Wu was in charge of the training of his army and the defenses of the kingdom. Since then Ninjago has been at peace.

• Garmadon even married Misako, who has been his great love for a long time, other elemental masters also married and started their own families, some even lived entirely in the palace with Garmadon and Wu. Only Ray and Maya, masters of Fire and Water, became the main personal guards of the royal family, Ray, Master of Fire, became Garmadon's personal guard, and Maya, master of water, became the Misako's personal guard.

• After a while, Misako became pregnant, news that Garmadon and Misako decided to keep secret so they could reveal it in due time. Only Wu also knew about Misako's pregnancy but decided to support his brother and Misako's decision to reveal the surprise to them in due time. Garmadon had already decided on the appropriate names for her future baby.

• But problems began after the death of the serpentine king Mambo V, Ouroboros and Ninjago coexisted in peace and had a great stable trading system, but after the death of Mambo V, his protégé, Pythor P. Chumsworth, occupied the throne, but he decided to cut friendly ties with Ninjago since he hated humans, a hatred he hid in order to maintain his place as the next ruler of Ouroboros.

• One of the most important legends of the Serpentine was that of the Golden Master, that is, the Overlord, where it was mentioned that one day he would come to Ninjago to spread destruction throughout Ninjago. Pythor was obsessed with the legend and his investigations led him to discover the precise place where the Dark Island where the Overlord was located.

• Unbeknownst to the other Serpentine generals, Pythor undertook a solo quest across the dangerous ocean of Ninjago to reach the Dark Island. As soon as he arrived, the spirit of the Overlord presented himself to Pythor, who happily agreed to be his servant as long as he promised him that his kingdom would obtain great riches from the kingdom of Ninjago. The Overlord promised to give Pythor power, especially if he helped him get off the island.

• The Dark Island despite being active, the First Master created dangerous storms that would make it almost impossible to find the true location of the island. The Overlord also told Pythor on the return trip about how the First Master imprisoned his Stone Army in the soil of the kingdom of Ninjago and the only way to awaken them is by using a special snake that only the Overlord can create, the which he calls “The Great Devourer”.

• Even the Overlord mentions that a long time ago he and the First Master had the task of maintaining the balance in Ninjago so that everything would work in harmony, but the Overlord mentions that he did not wish to continue with maintaining the balance and only wished that there was only one, he believed that darkness would be the only one capable of establishing true peace by maintaining absolute power, annihilating almost all the Onis in order to steal their power of destruction.

• The First Master managed to save the surviving Onis and also hid the Dragons to be able to confront the Overlord, he used the Golden Weapons to be able to take away most of his destructive power but since he could not defeat him alone, the First Master had no choice but to sealing it on the Dark Island, but he knew that the Overlord could return, that is why his vision showed him that one day his heir, the Green Ninja, would defeat him definitively.

• The Overlord possessed Pythor's body temporarily as he needed to reach the island of Ninjago without having to attract the attention of the First Master's children. Pythor brought the Overlord to his kingdom and began preparations to prepare his army for the final conquest of the kingdom of Ninjago.

• But the Overlord needed to possess Garmadon's body since he inherited the destructive power of the Onis. That is why Pythor had a false letter of alliance made to Emperor Garmadon so that he would come to the kingdom to sign a peace treaty.

• Garmadon received Pythor's invitation and thought about accepting the meeting if it meant being at peace with the kingdom of the Serpentine, Wu found it strange so he decided to accompany his brother to Ouroboros, while the kingdom would be led by Misako and the elemental masters.

• Before Garmadon arrived in Ouroboros, Pythor and the Overlord managed to create the first species of the Great Devourer, its poison would inject pure evil into Garmadon's body and it would be much easier to possess the emperor's body.

• When Garmadon and Wu arrived at Ouroboros, Pythor received them and took them to a special room to sign the new peace treaty, but soon the two brothers realized that it was a trap, the Great Devourer bit Garmadon and then was possessed by the Overlord, before Garmadon lost control of his body he used his destructive power to give Wu a way out so he could return to the kingdom to warn everyone, Wu did not want to leave his brother alone but he knew he had to protect kingdom, so he summoned his elemental dragon and flew towards the kingdom of Ninjago.

• When the Overlord managed to take control of Garmadon, he led the Serpentine army towards the city of Ninjago, he even managed to transform Garmadon into his Oni version, that was due to the poison of the Great Devourer. Wu managed to reach the kingdom first where he put everyone on alert, the serpentines and Garmadon, being possessed by the Overlord, arrived at the kingdom and began to destroy Wu's defenses.

• Even Garmadon used the poison of the Great Devourer to awaken his Stone Army, chaos reached all of Ninjago, and Wu knew that they could not win this battle, he managed to get the elemental masters, their familys and several guards out of the city loyals to Wu, Misako could not escape since when recovering information for Wu she was captured by some serpentine and confined to her room, Wu took all her followers to a mountain far away from the kingdom to create her base.

• Using his power of creation, Wu manages to create a hiding place to install his rebel camp, even Wu and the rebels changed places very often to avoid being discovered by Garmadon's soldiers. But Wu knew that they couldn't keep changing locations for long, in fact, several of the rebels had different facilities in various parts of Ninjago.

• In order to further increase his army Garmadon even traveled to the underworld to recruit the Skeletons, who accepted and began to live on the surface. After taking the city, Pythor returned to his kingdom to enjoy his victory, also leaving several of his serpentine soldiers in the kingdom under the command of Garmadon.

• The Overlord created a dark crystal where he could regain his power over time, but so that Garmadon would not get out of his control, he made the Devourer's poison manage to bring him back to his dark control. Garmadon could no longer help but be a ruthless emperor to his kingdom, but at least without the Overlord's influence, Garmadon could have some quiet moments, but he had to prevent the Overlord from discovering his plans in order to defeat him.

• Garmadon managed to convince the Overlord to keep Misako alive, as he used the excuse that she would know where Wu and the rebels might be. Misako was taken prisoner but at least she was confined to her room and was always watched by the castle guards, when the Overlord was not controlling Garmadon he always went to see her and they both collected data to be able to defeat the Overlord and decipher better the prophecy. So that this would not fall on the Overlord's servants, Garmadon hid all the information in a secret room that was similar to a library, only Misako and he had the key to open the room, and Garmadon was glad that the Overlord never saw his memories every time the Overlord possessed him.

• The months passed and Misako's pregnancy progressed, when she gave birth to her son Garmadon named him Lloyd, the future emperor of Ninjago, but unfortunately Misako lost her life after giving birth to Lloyd, Garmadon fell into deep sadness, that made the poison have more effect on him, but at least now his only motivation for hope was his son, whom he swore to protect, furthermore, so that the Overlord would not harm him, Garmadon proposed that Lloyd could be a quite useful vessel for the Overlord. Overlord could possess him whenever he wanted once he reached a suitable age, the Overlord accepted Garmadon's deal and left the baby alone.

• While in the rebellion, Wu was responsible for both the training of the new rebels and the new elemental masters. Many people joined his cause and all of them settled in the different rebel bases.

• Garmadon turned the capital of Ninjago into his maximum fortress, the citizens were treated harshly but would live in peace as long as they showed their loyalty to Garmadon and did not get involved with the rebels, even to have a better life, several people decided to join the ranks of Garmadon's army, many citizens were turned into slaves in order to work in the work areas that were responsible for food, weapons, and defense equipment for Garmadon's army.

• Several kingdoms even joined Garmadon and their citizens likewise became slaves so they could better serve the emperor. Only some kingdoms opposed the rule of Garmadon and the Overlord, they even helped the rebels in secret, but when they revealed themselves to Garmadon, his army did not hesitate to invade their cities, towns and capitals in order to obtain more power. Sometimes the rebels lost and won battles, but they were still far from winning the real war.

• Wu was still trying to decipher the prophecy left by his father, it was the only hope of the rebellion, until now the Golden Weapons did not shine before any of the descendants of the elemental masters. They didn't even shine when the protectors went on missions in different parts of the kingdom, Ray, the fire master, was the main person in charge of finding the chosen one, whether he went on missions or not, Wu needed to quickly bring the chosen one in order to save the Ninjago land.

Also I've made a post about this before but aside from Airbender Wu I'm obsessed with the idea that canon nonbender Wu has the potential to be a competent badass like Asami but different, in his own style.

And I actually got this idea during the clip show episode and the wuko segments, when it occurred to me that Mako is probably training him to fight the way Mako himself learned to fight.

And I don't think that fighting style fits Wu's mindset, temperament, build, anything really, it's a style informed by street fighting and firebending, two things Wu could not be further removed from.

He's an earth kingdom prince used to fine silks and jewelry, expertly moving about the world with the grace and balance of a dancer even when confronted with physical aggression...

Say, doesn't that sound familiar to anyone else?

I'm just saying, he could be the earth kingdom royal to denounce the Dai Li and bring the Kyoshi Warriors to the forefront of their culture.

By becoming one himself.

When it comes to Wu learning to defend himself and fight, I have two favorite hc.

1. Yes yes yes to Wu training with Kyoshi Warriors. I will say that I'm hesitant to have him become a Kyoshi Warrior, because Kyoshi Warriors are women. (Though if people have hc about Wu's gender being different, that's certainly worth exploring!) But much like Sokka was permitted to train with them, I see no reason why Wu couldn't learn from them as well! I think if given the opportunity, Wu would pick up the fighting style quite well. The method of fighting practiced by the Kyoshi warriors, and originally taught to them by Rangi herself, is focused on turning your enemy's strength against them. Seems like an excellent style for Wu, as he's built much more slender. I think he'd be into the overall aesthetics, too. I also love the idea of some Kyoshi warriors becoming his royal guard and replacing the role of the Dai Li.

2. Training with Asami. Asami has taken formal self defense lessons since she was a child. She has the technical know how of self defense and since she learned it formally, I think she would be excellent at teaching it formally. To further my Asami-teaching-Wu propaganda, check out the description of Asami as a teacher from the Avatar Legends Wan Shi Tong's Adventure Guide:

As a teacher, Asami is encouraging and supportive—she prizes an individual’s own inventiveness when channeled appropriately, far more than her own ideas. When it comes to the overall tone and style of mastery conditions set to PCs, Asami will emphasize thought over force, clever ideas over direct results. Asami wants those who learn from her to see how problems can be solved in many ways, and there’s nearly always a better way, in addition to seeing how they can help others and don’t always have to solve the problem on their own.

I just feel like Asami would make a good, patient teacher, I think her formal training would translate well into teaching skills, I think she might actually appreciate Wu's creativity and out-of-the-box thinking, AND I think her foundation in self defense would be ideal for Wu to learn. I don't see him needing to be a fighter in the thick of battle right alongside the rest of Team Avatar, but he should certainly learn to hold his own to protect his own life and limb.

Regardless of how Wu learns self defense and/or martial arts, we can all agree on one thing, I'm sure. Mako is a terrible person to be teaching him. He was literally the worst teacher in Remembrances lol like what was he even doing. And you're right, his style of fighting does not match the kind of fighting that Wu should learn or that he would be able to master.

That's ok. Mako can cheer him on from the sidelines!

So I just finished xiaolin showdown: I wanna talk about it. Spoilers.

I really liked the show! I knew I would thanks to childhood memories of it but I think it holds up alright even today! Imma break it down in what I Did like and what I Didn't like (I think Imma make a different post talking about the Wu). This is longer than I thought it would be. I'm sorry.

What I liked

The Wu themselves, love me magic shit even if they get repetitive at times(fr there are like 4 that just give the power to fly).

I fucking love Jack Spicer and Clay Bailey. They are my boys do you hear me! Love how Jack just won't quit and how Clay is just so painfully Texas. My bois

Love the magic in general! How all die of the main characters get to master their element and get special weapons and gear to help. Wish there was more time to flush all of it out tho ,but hey what can you do(other than post head canons).

Dojo Kanojo Cho

Just his name is fucking amazing, and I did like some of his jokes

And his powers were cool! I wish we could have seen the limits of his shapeshifting powers.

I did like wuya and wish we could have seen her do more witchy things.

Chase Young was also very cool.

Master fung and dojo... Had a very odd relationship. I'm 90% sure they were at least fucking by how dojo acted when he went to a different temple and after that it was just very. Weird.nit Bad weird but still.

What I didn't like

How they treated Jack. Idk man I just thought it was weird how the heros tournamented him so much? Like ya he's a ass but like, y'all are the heros why are you acting borderline worse than him???

I also kinda wish he could have officially joined the xiaolin side, I feel like they alluded to him switching multiple times but then he never does and I think that was a waste.
