It’s set in the 80s and is about the AIDS pandemic.

Alcohol is shown casually as many scenes are in a bar.

it's extremely critical that you see the photo of the perp walk for luigi mangione as being propaganda. i've seen so many people wave it off and instead fawn over his looks. and trust me, i know it ended up being kind of pathetic and weird - but please don't brush it off as a "modelling opportunity" for him. it's a fucking terrifying message the police are sending.

i want to make a few comparisons here, in case you're not from the US or familiar with why the perp walk thing is something to pay attention to. just to set the groundwork for why this is a purposeful, unusual, and cruel act by the nyc police - for why this is not a common occurrence and for why that matters.

the prosecution alleges the show of force is due to the charge of "terrorism." for comparison, in june 2015, tsarnaev was found guilty for the boston marathon bombing, which killed 3 people and injured hundreds. his actions are considered to be an act of domestic terrorism. i have spent the last hour looking through google for pictures of similar to mangione's perp walk - and so far, i have found zero. i also just do not personally remember a moment like that, despite living in boston at the time.

they allege that luigi is a stone-cold killer who carried out a longterm plan, making him particularly dangerous. again for comparison: in nyc, recently cory martin was found guilty of the killing of brandy odom. the murder was planned and premeditated to steal insurance money. and yet no staged perp walk. why didn't her life matter enough for a "show of force"?

but mangione gets paraded by a veritable army of police officers as if he is a rabid animal. for a single citizen who allegedly killed one other single citizen, the "largest perp walk ever" occurs.

so what is the "strong message" that the mayor and the police were trying to send here? the mayor speaks as if mangione is already convicted of terrorism. there is a very thin number of people who feel threatened by the CEO's death. none of us felt like mangione needs to be under massive armed guard.

the message is that you shouldn't resist. they are trying to "make an example" of him - that if you behave badly and kill a single rich person, you'll be treated as if you killed hundreds of people. you will be treated worse than a man who was found guilty of terrorism. you will be considered guilty without trial. the message is that the rich are a protected class, and you cannot touch them without massive punishment. they are trying to prevent a revolution by showing dominance and force against you.

the message is that the police are a puppet of the wealthy and that the law is not equally applied across class disparity. it is "some are more equal than others." it is "one life is more precious than another."

the show of force wasn't for luigi. it was for us. it was a warning. they are trying to remind us who is really in control.

Dylan Scott - Livin' My Best Life (Still)

So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would like to talk about the latest album release from Country Music Singer Dylan Scott. The new CD is titled "Livin' my best life" was released on Friday August 5th, 2022 and the deluxe edition with the title "Still" added was released on March 29th, 2024. There are 26 tracks on the new 2 disc CD. But as usual, we will talk a little bit about the artist before we dive into his new project.

Dylan Scott has scored 4 number ones on my weekly list MSR (Midnight Star Report) which combines both CMT (Country Music Television), the Billboard Country Music Airplay Charts, & even myself. Some of Dylan's biggest hits include songs like "My girl", "Hooked", & "Crazy over me". But he is still new to us, and he does have 16 tracks on this new album. Let's talk about some of the tracks that stuck out in my opinion from the new project next.

His current singles "New truck" has already gone number one along with another song from the album "Nobody". Other songs that you should listen to include "Can't have mine (Find you a girl)" which has also gone number one, "Static", & "Boy I was back then". The title track is also one to listen to "Livin' my best life", "Tough", & "Good times go by too fast". The stand track in my opinion is "In our blood" which features Jimmie Allen, & another single he released a little bit was "Nothing to do town".

But now since there is 2 discs on this album. Other highlights of the album also include "This town's been too good to us", "What he'll never have" which is a standout in my opinion, & "Boys back home" with Dylan Marlowe. "What I'd want mine to say", "Heartbeat of America" which is another standout track, and now about some of disc 2 highlights. "Lay down with you", "Killin' some time", which is another standout track, & "Hell out of me". And there is also 2 remix version of 2 tracks from this project. That's a wrap for the track list. And on the MSR (Midnight Star Report), I would give this album a 5 out of 5 stars. There is a lot of songs for this project which means there would probably be something on this album for anyone. And Dylan co wrote 13 out of the 26 tracks. And he also had help from some of our favorite names in Country Music. Those include Hardy (Michael Hardy), Morgan Wallen, Brian Kelley, Tyler Hubbard of FGL (Florida Georgia Line), Thomas Rhett, & Mitchell Tenpenny. Thanks for taking the time to read this review. What new dragons are you most excited to see in both House of the Dragon and Rise of the Dragon?

I'm can't say I'm particularly eager for any one dragon, although I do describe Sunfyre as the most beautiful dragon that anyone has ever seen. He looks like he's not a real dragon, but a dragon made of gold. His scales and armor are bright gold, like a flash in the sun. So let's try to capture that when we see him on-screen.
