Can anyone tell me if Impossible nuggets are vegan?? They're what has helped me the most w going at the moment, semi vegan, and now I'm hearing to avoid them and I'm so confused and disappointed. Is it OK as a vegan to eat these?
Iā€™m not sure which criticisms youā€™re referring to exactly but all of their products are made without animal products. Iā€™ve given my own thoughts on impossible foods and their ethics more generally here, and other posts in my tag on them here.
Plenty of vegans buy and eat their products, but there are also a hell of a lot of very good (and much cheaper) alternatives for every product they make if you do want to avoid them. This is especially true of nuggets, which are very easy to imitate as the real thing is just low quality, highly processed meat.
You should come to your own conclusions on it, since we all have to draw our lines somewhere. If you do decide not to support them then you certainly wonā€™t be out of options when it comes to vegan nuggets. That said, I donā€™t think that reducing options at this stage is the best idea in the short-term, at least not while youā€™re still transitioning towards a plant-based diet.

David Purdum at ESPN:
Joey Chestnut, the 16-time champion of the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, will not compete in the annual Fourth of July event next month, Major League Eating announced Tuesday. A spokesperson for Major League Eating (MLE) told ESPN that Chestnut had chosen to "represent another hot dog brand" and therefore would not be allowed to participate in the Nathan's contest, which is held annually at New York City's Coney Island. Chestnut, competitive eating's biggest star who is known as "Jaws," has won the event eight years in a row. He reportedly agreed to a sponsorship deal with Impossible Foods, a company that makes plant-based hot dogs, and a competing company to Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs. "It would be like Michael Jordan saying to Nike, 'I'm going to represent Adidas, too,'" MLE event organizer George Shea said. ESPN has reached out to Chestnut and Impossible Foods for comment.
16-time menā€™s Nathanā€™s Famous Hot Dog Eating Champion Joey Chestnut has been barred from competing in this yearā€™s edition due to Chestnutā€™s sponsoring of Impossible Foods (a competing company with Nathanā€™s), who provide plant-based hot dogs.

Oh, you can ā–ˆā–ˆā–ˆ right off, Impossible Foods!
Firstly, meat is meatā€¦ plant is plant. You can color it, season it, and even make it bleed like meat, but the fact of the matter isā€¦ it's still plant-based. And historicallyā€¦ plants have never been meat. Just because a jelly bean tastes exactly like an IBC root beet doesn't mean that it is root beer. Just because you can make fish taste like chicken doesn't mean that it is chicken. Plants is plants is plants!
Secondly, you can claim that this thing is "missing most of the cholesterol" of an actual meat hamburger. That might be true, but it's just as loaded with other things that beef burgers have such as more calories and fat, far more sodium, and unlike beef, your product has carbohydrates and (obviously) fiber. On top of that, depending on how it's prepared or cooked, it's still gonna have quite a bit of unhealthy stuff in it. I mean, have you looked at American cheese?
Thirdly, proudly proclaiming that you half "half the carbon impact" of a meat burger is meaningless. Again, if you char a plant burger in a pan or on the grill, you're still putting "toxic smoke and gas" into the air. If the "half the impact" statement explicitly refers to the fact that cows fart while some plants recycle air, then yes. But you know what else produces COā‚‚ emissions? Cars, other animals, certain other plants, and people. So claiming that your plant-based product produces "half the carbon impact" of beef is absolutely stupid.
And lastlyā€¦ presenting your product as "superior" is not only asinine, but it makes some consumers far less likely to try it. You're basically saying "cow meat bad, plant meat good, you dumb lol" with your commercial. Now, some people appreciate being talked down to and treated just garbage. I, however, do not.
I will not be buying your product for the foreseeable future. And yes, I know. I'm "not the target audience, anyway, so who cares".

Momo being approached by Jiji: šŸ˜šŸ™„šŸ˜‘šŸ˜’šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø
Momo for two seconds when offered a Little Treat by Jiji: šŸ¤©
Okarun: she's still in love with Jiji and this is proof. She likes him way better than me and he's better for her. It would be better for all of us if I quietly cut myself out of her life. I will do this on this evidence alone without consulting her and without doing any further observation or consulting with anyone,

Whenever people who are entrenched in diet culture talk about how terrible chemicals are, I just want to whip out this:
Tumblr media
#diet culture#diet culture tw#described images#image description in alt#'it's got CHEMICALS in it' and so do you! and me too! IT'S ALL CHEMICALS ALL THE WAY DOWN#instead of running from this world we must learn to embrace it#i'm not particularly angry at people who say this because it makes me think that they're incredibly invested in diet culture...#...i just don't want the whole 'food = bad' or 'bodies = bad' to go unchallenged...#...part of the reason why diet culture seems just as prevalent now (if not moreso) is partially because it isn't really...#...challenged or questioned without provocation. it's just assumed to be correct because it makes you 'feel in control'#when chemicals are bad you can control what chemicals you consume. it's individualistic and places the blame onto you for 'being good'#it places responsibility onto the person in such a way that it becomes impossible to fulfill#it isn't that i'm upset that people want to treat their bodies in a way they think is responsible...#...moreso that the *way* they go about it ensures that they're stuck in a cycle of self-blame and even self-hatred#because the METHOD is ineffective. not the desire to treat your body well#also the state of ohio looks stupid and i do Not respect it#it looks like a ball that is simultaneously deflated and over-inflated#also their state flag looks silly to me#it looks like the person who was making it fell asleep making it#i'm just clowning on ohio at this point. have never been to ohio but. are you guys okay

So, sometimes while playing botw/totk, I like to take out my horses and do long journeys across Hyrule, to take a break from fast travelling and completing quests.
Since I just got a new horse way down south (her name's Urania!), it seemed like the perfect excuse to take the long way to Link's house. Usually I map out the way before hand, so I know which route to take, and what stables/towns we are stopping at. Because I wanna feel like Aragorn I suppose.
This was the completed route, starting in Highland Stable, Faron, towards Link's House in Akkala:
Tumblr media
It took us about 2.5 days to make the journey, with 3 stable stops in Dueling Peaks, Woodlands, and finally Foothill, with a short stop in Kakariko Village to get some supplies and food.
I realise now I could've continued north towards Riverside Stable, instead of east Dueling Peaks but. Oh well. It was a very pleasant trip either way!
(pics and deets below):
Tumblr media
So, we took off from Highland Stable and headed east, around Lake Hylia. Crossing the Hylia bridge would be easier, but there's a fire gleeok there and I'm very scared šŸ˜ŒšŸ’™
It wasn't easy to cross Farosh hills on horse, but we made it! Took us a day's worth.
(I forgot the Big Twin bridge wasn't in use, so I did try my best to find a different way for Urania to cross, but no deal. I had to cheat a little and use the stable boarding function šŸ„ŗ)
Tumblr media
Then next day we took off early and stopped by Kakariko to buy some more arrows for me and carrots for the horsie šŸ„¹šŸ„•
Tumblr media
Left the village by 9:30, passed by Wetland stable, and continued north to Woodland stable.
Tumblr media
We spent the night, and I left Urania there while I took care of some nearby affairs (aka a shrine and a couple other things). She behaved super well so I mafe sure to give her some extra apples before we took off again šŸ„¹
We only had a few hours of daylight left, so we only went around Trilby Valley, and stopped at Foothill for the night (horse girlie needs to rest and also I didn't wanna be arsed with all the stalkoblins and such šŸ™ƒ).
Tumblr media
Next morning we left early once again, and after some very annoying storms and rain, we at last reached home šŸ„¹šŸ’™
Tumblr media
It was Urania's first journey EVER, and she did wonderfully šŸ„¹šŸ’™šŸŽ

@theminecraftbee ā€˜s ficlets about Decked Out eating Tango have been living in my head rent free so hereā€™s a little post-do thing of my own.
-
ā€œThe server resets tonight.ā€
Itā€™s been just over two months since Decked Out finished. Just over two months since anyone has seen or heard from Tango.
Zed knows what happened. Not the details. And he certainly couldnā€™t explain it to anyone else. But he knows.
And the gnawing feeling of guilt has kept him coming back to the dungeon. Every day.
Decked Out is asleep. Zed can walk through the citadel without a desperate need to throw himself to the ravengers. He can even wander below, into the redstone, without being electrocuted to death. Maybe itā€™s dead, but Zed doubts it. He knows itā€™s just sleeping. Eventually, it will wake up. It will be hungry and will lure whoever enters this world into its depths.
Maybe thatā€™s when Tango will wake up too.
Zed wonā€™t be here to see it.
ā€œWho knows when youā€™ll be able to eat again?ā€
His voice is quiet but he knows the whole dungeon can hear him. He plays with the clasp on his gas mask. Tangoā€™s storage room, where he lays on the dusty floor, has enough oxygen flowing through it still to allow him to breathe without the mask, though heā€™s already getting a bit of a headache. Heā€™ll put the mask back on soon. Eventually.
ā€œOne last snack?ā€
Heā€™s offered the dungeon himself hundreds of times these past few months. As a player, when it was live, hoping to spark a bit of his friendā€™s life back into him. Then after. Hoping for something. For a glimpse of flickering blue flame and wide eyes that had long since given up pretending to see.
Thereā€™s quiet.
Thereā€™s so much guilt in the quiet.
Donā€™t worry, Zed. Just a few months. Not too big of a project.
All good here. With level one done, the rest will go a lot quicker.
Yeah, level three got away from me a bit. Level four will be smaller, donā€™t worry.
Audio needed to be reworked, you know how it is. Soon.
Just tired, lost track of time last night.
Not too much longer now.
Donā€™t worry, Iā€™ll be back to normal when the gameā€™s done. Promise.
Did Tango know he was lying?
Zed is well aware that what heā€™s doing isnā€™t good for him. Itā€™s ironic, how Tango pulled away from everyone, to eventually disappear in this cave. And now Zedā€™s doing the same thing.
It was always Tango pulling Zed out. Into the sun for a stupid game or a ridiculous project. Ā So it makes sense that without him, Zed canā€™t bring himself to leave the hole.
ā€œI could break more redstone.ā€ Zed offers the dungeon. ā€œReally get you mad.ā€
Heā€™d done that. About two weeks after Decked Out went dormant. He hadnā€™t gotten a reaction at the time. But the next day, everything was repaired.
That had spurred Zed into doing a stakeout. Break some stuff, sit and wait until the dungeon brought Tango out to fix it.
Zed had died down in the redstone, waiting. It hadnā€™t been a pleasant death.
Thatā€™s when Impulse had stepped in, staging his own intervention. But all it had done is make Zed feel more guilty.
An intervention for the guy who failed to do an intervention when Tango needed it most.
See? Ironic.
His head is starting to pound. He puts his mask back on.
ā€œI want my friend back, you stupid castle,ā€ He says through the mask. The dungeon understands him anyways.
He wonā€™t be getting Tango back. Heā€™s known that for much longer than he can admit.
Time passes. His phone dings a few times. Itā€™s just the others. Making preparations. The server resets in just a few hours.
ā€œWas it worth it?ā€ Zed asks. ā€œNot you, dumb dungeon. Iā€™m asking Tango. Was it worth it? Did you make this choice? Did you know the consequences?ā€
Silence.
ā€œDid you ever consider saying goodbye?ā€
The thing is? Tango was saying goodbye. In the only way he could. It was in the heartfelt artifacts crafted for each hermit. It was in his own voice, echoing words throughout the dungeon long after his own voice left him. It was in every ounce of the game.
None of them saw it until it was too late.
Zed stands. He has to be at spawn soon. He has stuff to pack. He has his own hole in the ground to say goodbye to.
He takes the long way out. Up into the main room of the citadel.
Thereā€™s a small part of him that hopes to see a glint of Tango. Thatā€™s whatā€™s supposed to happen, right? A little wisp of blue fire. A soft voice. A gust of wind blowing a loose piece of paper across the floor. Something he can look at and be comforted by.
Nothing happens.
Zed knows that Tangoā€™s gone.
He stands at the door. Itā€™s open just a crack, just like he left it.
The night is clear.
ā€œGoodbye, Tango.ā€
