Mama to Mama
At the instant Tartaglia, the 11th Harbinger, was dispatched in Fontaine, the Nation of croissants and Justice, he knew what he would do!
Going to fight a Dragon like he used to do in Liyue?
Of course not!
He bought a little boat and rowed it until he would reach a nice little area over the sea. If it had been Liyue or Snezhnaya, which he knew a lot, he would probably have jumped in the water and try to wrestle any fish he might found. He had so much fun fighting some Dragon–it always came back to it–fishes in Liyue or catch with his own hand Goliath creature be it fishes or crabs. But he didn’t know Fontaine and if he loved a challenge, he also knew it would be stupid to jump right into the waves without a second thought.
On his boat, his fishing-rod dangling in the water and lot of baits in different container that he gathered himself, Tartaglia could enjoy some leisure time. He could look at the fishes and by extent the water fauna and analyse their way to live. He spotted jellyfishes waltzing in group and even an octopus! That made him drool when thinking about making his speciality and then even laugh as he remembered himself the face Zhongli did the one time he served some to him. It was before he knew about Zhongli’s phobias! How could he even know? Zhongli always brought him at the seafood restaurant to make him happy. After that, Tartaglia surely put even more effort to cook for him.
He stroked his belly with a smile at the thought of Liyue.
Of Zhongli.
He went there back for his birthday. It was his little pleasure: going to Liyue to see the man who dared to steal his heart. And as it was his birthday he received a delicious present. Zhongli loved him too much and he felt like he couldn’t give enough love in return. Here was a challenge he could try to hold back.
Loving this God as much as he loved him.
Zhongli cheated, though! He had so many years to learn to love this much.
Lost in his thoughts, Tartaglia stopped to look at the fairy of water. Until he heard a squeak. A deep sound of despair.
He snapped himself back to reality only to see a long creature climb into his boat.
“Well, hello you?”
The creature hummed at him, that long sound of despair adding itself every now and then. The animal came to the edge of the ship and pointed its pink nose to a direction then came back to Tartaglia and this too many time in a row for it to be a simple coincidence.
“What is happening?” Tartaglia asked. “You want something? Food?”
The creature redid the same following of movement, squeaking to the distance, pawing at the ground with haste.
“You want to go there?”
The animal squeaked.
“And I have to row, uh?” he teased.
Tartaglia pulled out his rod from the water and installed himself in the boat, rowing towards the direction the creature was looking at.
He thought they looked like those stoats, ferrets and other weasels there were in Liyue. He remembered sawing some with Yoimiya in Inazuma, but mostly in Liyue. There was this long and elegant appearance to them. Except this one was huge. And it kept squeaking with an evident distress.
“You tell me if I go to the wrong direction, yes?”
The creature looked at him.
Did they even understand him? Or was Tartaglia simply weird?
As he kept rowing, they slowly approached some reefs. He had to pull away from there. It was mostly coral but he didn’t plan to crash his ship right away.
But at the instant he started to change direction, the creature became excited again, looking at the reef.
What?
Was it a creature of death who wanted to end him?!
But Tartaglia grasped something. A sound. A long meep. Panicked.
Tartaglia frowned.
He rowed back to the reef, more cautious. The creature pawed again, the tail bristled.
Tartaglia rowed faster.
And then… he saw it.
Them.
A tiny creature alike the first one, between two rocks and some corals. It meeped panicked and happy at once, spotting them.
The big one jumped in the waves and swum to the little one, grabbing them in their… her probably big arms and brought them over their fluffy belly. They started to chip, happily, pressing their head against each other.
Tartaglia approached enough to see if everything was going alright. No blood in the waves? No wounds…
“You lost your baby, uh? Your baby decided to play a big adventure and lost himself?”
He smiled but he could only think about Teucer. He would have been like this as well if ever he had learned from Tonia Teucer went missing before finding him in Liyue.
“I have the same at…” He hesitated. “…home.” Tartaglia smiled. “Anyway! I’m so happy you found each other back! Do you want me to bring you somewhere?”
The creature must have some understanding of what he was saying because she put her baby in the boat and jumped in it as well. Installed in the boat, she started to lick her baby, giving him a nice bath. Tartaglia laughed and pressed his hand over his belly once again, stroking it gently.

childe-xiao friendship is so funny to me especially when it starts out as 'abyss scum you deserve to die' turns into 'hey we have a lot in common, we're both being corrupted by evil energy and have given our lives to our archons' and then eventually circles back around to 'WAIT NO STOP FUCKING MY DAD'

AU where lyney lynette and frem were adopted by Childe(instead of raven arlecchino) and his unlawfully wedded husband. Lyney uses his vision to make street tricks to entertain kids and makes knife throwing constructs for shows and also for combat.
As for his outfit and cutouts, several magicians say misdirection is key in magic tricks. It’s also better for movement according to several undisclosed sources.(Gotta be why zatanna wears fishnets in the DC universe like cmon.)
Gonna do a lynette ver with either diluc, childe or jean’s body later

Zhongli’s coupe snaked through the parking lot at the Northland Bank. Winding through the various parked cars and valet staff spotted across the asphalt, the anxiety that had been coiling in the pit of his stomach grew tighter. Each car that he passed was distinctly not the eleventh harbinger’s powder-blue convertible.
Zhongli banished the thought. Childe said he was here, so he was here. It didn’t do either of them any good to have Zhongli skulking through the parking lot, and probably drawing attention from the bank’s expansive security detail.
Looping back to the main driveway, he pulled up to the valet station and stepped out of the champagne coupe, quickly exchanging the key for a ticketed placeholder, and walked up the short stairs to the main door.

“I have some news you won’t like” Ajax mumbled against Zhongli’s cheek, pressing an apologetic kiss to his temple.
Zhongli gave a hum of disapproval, languidly stretching and shifting on the mattress, pulling Ajax tighter against his shoulder.
“I’m going to be gone for the next few days, work stuff. I’d wiggle out of it if I could, but it looks like they actually need me.”
“Where are you going?” Zhongli whispered, half asleep.
“I’m staying local, actually.”
Zhongli’s gaze met Ajax’s, a budding confusion showing in his expression.
“What do you mean?”
“I have an assignment at the Northland branch here in Liyue, but they’re having some higher-ups come in, and it’s going to be nothing but politics and policies for a few days. Between keeping up with my with my actual work and the sheer amount of political jockeying I have to do, Ekaterina said to just plan on passing out on one of the couches in the back every couple days.”
“They torture you” Zhongli huffed,  closing his eyes and snuggling even closer into Ajax’s side.
Ajax’s expression iced over, guilt stabbing through his chest. He already hated lying to Zhongli, but the poetic irony of his lover’s declaration almost made it feel worse somehow.
———
“I’m here to see Tartaglia”
“Name?”
“Zhongli”
“I’m sorry, he doesn’t have any public appointments scheduled today, are you sure you’re here to see the harbinger?”
“I don’t have an appointment “ Zhongli replied, “it’s urgent and I couldn’t get ahold of his direct office.”
“I’m sorry, but unfortunately I won’t be able to schedule you for a walk-in meeting today. If you’d like I can set an appointment later this week-“
“I’m his fiancé” Zhongli interrupted “it’s a family emergency. I need to see him.”
“…I, one moment.”
Zhongli fidgeted with his engagement ring as the receptionist dialed an extension and waited for the line to pick up.
“Hello? Yes, I have a visitor for Tartaglia. Yes I- I understand however I have an unusual situation-Sir, what would you like me to do about- one moment.”
The receptionist held out the telephone to Zhongli with an apologetic smile.
The building worry threatened to suffocate him as he took it.
“Childe?”
“Hi sweetheart-“ by Celestia, he sounded tired, “what’s up?”
“You’re okay” Zhongli sighed with relief, Even though he’d tried not to think about it, he knew how dangerous Childe’s career was, and he had been fearing the worst.
“Yeah, I’m okay” he chuckled, “I’m at work, why wouldn’t I be?”
“I was just… worried. You haven’t answered my calls in a couple days and I was worried-“
“-shit, I’m so sorry!” Childe interjected, “fuck, I left my phone at my desk and I honestly haven’t been back to check it, by the Archons, I must’ve worried you sick-“
“It’s okay” Zhongli insisted, “You’re okay and that’s all the matters. You are doing alright, my love? You’ve never stayed this long at Northland, I’m concerned.”
“I’m fine, really “ Childe replied “a little more tired than usual, I’ve been going pretty much non-stop the past… what has it been now, four days? I lose track of time in here.”
“Where are you, Childe? I thought you said this was all meetings.”
The dull buzz of the telephone hung in the air.
“I.. I’m here at Northland, truly Zhongli, I know you’re worried but I’m just working away from my office.”
“Your car isn’t here” Zhongli replied.
Childe was faster to cover the second time “Ekaterina must be out, she sometimes takes the car to run work errands or pick up lunch-“
“Can I see you?” Zhongli pleaded “Just for a minute or two, I won’t keep you long, I just- I need to know you’re okay.”
Another pause.
“I… one second-“ Zhongli heard the soft thump of Childe’s palm covering the other end of the call and his muffled voice. He couldn’t make out what Childe was actually saying, just the timbre of his voice. He didn’t recognize the muffled reply Childe got, but his heart sunk at the agitated tone.
Zhongli heard more thumping as Childe adjusted the phone again,
“I’m sorry I worried you, of course it’s okay for you to see me, would you give the phone back to the receptionist? I’ll let her know it’s okay and someone will take you back- I’ll see you in a minute, okay? I love you.”
“I love you too” Zhongli barely registered handing the phone back to the receptionist, or the short conversation she had with Childe before hanging up. It was all he could do just to still his heart and not bolt through every hallway until he found Childe himself.
— — —
“You know, despite your incessant whining, taking a break isn’t going to make this any easier. In fact, it’ll actually most likely delay my research, we’ll probably have to reset at least the last hour’s worth of endurance testing-“
“What the fuck else was I supposed to tell him, Dottore?” Childe snapped back, “thanks to you I’ve been gone nearly a fucking week, and if you would’ve given me, I don’t know, maybe two minutes to check my phone in the past forty-eight hours, we wouldn’t even be fucking dealing with this-“
“Whatever you need to tell yourself to feel better, it’s not improving my research”
“Shove your research up your ass- and clean this shit up,” Childe gestured wildly to the blood-covered blades, blunt weapons, syringes, and various research equipment that was scattered about the room, “you think a phone call is bad? I don’t think even you want to know what’ll happen if he sees all this.”
Dottore stared back at Childe with what could only be described as a malevolent smile as Childe wobbled to his feet and limped out the door.
How in Teyvat was he going to fix this, he thought. Catching his murky reflection in the metallic hallway wall, he could see the maroon and purple gashes and bruises that mottled nearly every inch of exposed skin.
Wincing as he made his way down the hall and into his office, he prayed that he at least beat Zhongli and the receptionist to the room. He needed every available second to try and come up with some rational explanation as to why he looked half-dead.
Panicking, he quickly pulled a spare coat from a nearby closet and shrugged it on, hoping to cover as much of the damage as possible. He tugged at his pant legs to try and cover his bruised, broken ankles, and quickly summoned a small orb of hydro energy to try and scrub as much blood as he could from his face.
He barely had time to lean against his desk and feign relaxation before a very worried Zhongli was ushered through the door.
“Hi Xiangsheng-“ Childe was instantly silenced as Zhongli flung his arms around his neck. It took everything in him to not scream out in pain from the agitation to his various injuries, locking his jaw tightly and burying his face in the crook of Zhongli’s neck to hide the fact that his eyes were watering against his will.
“What’s going on?” Zhongli pulled back, gingerly resting his hand on Childe’s shoulder and absentmindedly toying with the end of his hair.
“It’s work” Childe soothed, willing his jaw to relax and forcing a weak smile “you know how it is.”
Zhongli’s eyes flickered to the top of Childe’s head,
“You’re bleeding-“
Pushing his hair off of his forehead and thumbing over his scalp, Zhongli frowned at the blood picked up by his fingertips.
“Will you please tell me what’s going on?” Zhongli begged, “You look exhausted, for some reason you’re wearing a coat in the middle of spring in Liyue, you haven’t talked to me in four days, you seem like you’re avoiding something, you’re clearly injured with no obvious cause, please- just, let me in…”
Zhongli cradled Childe’s face in his hand, his troubled expression softening as Childe leaned into his hand,
“I want to be there for you” Zhongli murmured, “even if there’s nothing I can do to help, I’m worried, please.”
Childe sighed as he hung his head forward, his temple leaning against Zhongli’s collarbone,
“Alright… I wasn’t lying when I said I’m stuck in meetings, that was at least the first day. There’s this… researcher- well, he’s really a doctor but that’s not the point-“
“A doctor?” Zhongli asked
“I think, that’s what he calls himself anyway- besides the point, he’s here for research, and… research with, me, specifically.”
“…Elaborate”
“The Tsaritsa, the other harbingers, basically everyone in her majesty’s service know about my… qualities, let’s say, from my time in The Abyss. But, beyond a surface level understanding and examples from my time in battle, nobody really knows the extent of what I can do, not even myself, to be frank, so there’s a doctor, here, on the Tsaritsa’s orders, researching my particular case. It’s happened a few times before, the past few days has been… endurance testing”
“Endurance…?”
Childe sighed, “it’d…. It’d be easier if I just showed you, I don’t want to get into the details, just… promise you wont freak out, okay?”
Slowly, Childe pulled away from Zhongli, rolling his shoulders with a small wince, he carefully shrugged off the hastily-grabbed coat, letting it pool at his feet as he unfastened his uniform top.
“…Ajax”
Childe flinched, avoiding Zhongli’s eyes,
“Really, it looks worse than it is-you and I both know I have above-average stamina, this was just… seeing how far it would go.”
“Ajax, look at me.”
Childe met Zhongli’s gaze with guilt tearing at his core, quickly morphing into genuine fear as he saw the barely restrained rage in Zhongli’s expression.
“What exactly was the goal here? I’ve seen corpses that were in better shape than you right now. Was the plan to just torture you to death? Let enough blades slice into you until you succumbed to blood loss? Beat you unconscious to see how many times you could take it before you didn’t wake up?”
“I have a duty to the Tsaritsa-“
“What would’ve happened if I hadn’t come here?”
…Childe didn’t have an honest answer to give him.
Zhongli slung one arm under Childe’s shoulder and tilted to carry most of his weight,
“We’re leaving-“
“I’m still not done with the research-“
“Drop it.”
Childe shuddered at the burning rage laced through Zhongli’s latest statement. He was quite afraid of Dottore, and even more afraid of what the Tsaritsa would do when she found out he disobeyed a direct order, but both paled in comparison to the sheer terror he felt at hearing that in Zhongli’s voice
— — —
“Qiqi, forceps, please”
“Forceps”
Childe hissed in pain as the shrapnel buried in his ribs was wiggled around and out of his flesh. Slowly, every bit of embedded weaponry was meticulously outlined and fished out of his skin. It’d been at least an hour and a half and he still wasn’t done.
That wasn’t even considering all the other categories of injury still to be addressed.
Zhongli’s hand ghosted gently over Childe’s, rubbing small circles into the iron-tight grip his knuckles had on the bed railing.
“Thank you again, Baizhu.” Zhongli said, “truly, I’m beyond words.”
“My pleasure” Baizhu replied “I must say, I’m fascinated that you’ve not only managed to not succumb to your injuries, but also still somehow stay conscious. If you wouldn’t mind, I’d be interested in researching-“
“Absolutely not” Zhongli said coldly. Seeing the surprised look from both Childe and Baizhu, he sighed
“I apologize, I mean no disrespect, that simply is not a possibility.”
“It’s no matter” Baizhu said breezily, seemingly ignoring the suppressed whine from his patient as he pulled a particularly tight suture “I’ve already made quite a few discoveries just in this work so far.”
“Lovely” Childe hissed through gritted teeth, earning a sharp frown from Zhongli.
“I should warn you” Baizhu continued, “While I have no problem respecting your privacy, I am required by oath to report this to the Qixing; the amount of damage I’ve assessed is clearly criminal assault.”
“Consider it done” Zhongli replied “I will be discussing this with the Tianquan Ningguang myself.”
“Xiangsheng-“
“This is not up for debate.”
“Can you just-“ Childe groaned as he sat up a few centimeters, earning a firm push to the shoulder from both Baizhu and Zhongli “think about this for a second?”
“It has already been decided.”
“For just a moment” Childe said, “think about the political implications of that; for one minute, honestly.”
“What part of criminal assault are you not understanding-“
“So the Qixing get involved, yeah?” Childe retorted “even if they make a private investigation, word will get out that Liyue is making a direct accusation against the Tsaritsa; at least the leaders in Mondstat will find out, if not the general public of Teyvat.”
Childe sighed, head pressed against the pillow and massaging his temple,
“Think about how anyone in the Schneznayan service is going to react to that. Both  countries have sacrificed too much- you have sacrificed too much for an active conflict to start over me fulfilling my duty-“
“-I need to step out for a moment” Baizhu interrupted, “Qiqi, please fetch three rolls of gauze from the store room.”
“Gauze.” Qiqi repeated softly as she walked around the foot of the bed and out the door, her lilac braid trailing lazily behind her. Baizhu’s footsteps echoing across the tile behind her faded into a suffocating silence.
“…My love-”
“Don’t-“ Childe interrupted, “please, don’t make this harder than it has to be.”
Zhongli inched his chair closer to the bedside, watching as Childe screwed his eyes shut, angrily swiping his knuckles across his tear-stained cheeks.
Archons, he was in so much pain.
“My love…” Zhongli carded his hand through Childe’s damp hair, “What you have gone through, is completely beyond your duty to the Tsaritsa. While your loyalty is undeniably admirable, you don’t have to do this-“
“-I owe her my life-“
“I am owed your life as well-“ Zhongli argued.
Childe blinked back in surprise, confusion written across his face.
“I made a promise to share the rest of my life with you,” Zhongli’s free hand coming to Childe’s cheek, “share, Ajax, not sit idly as you risk your life again and again-“
“-you know me” Childe interrupted, his voice tight with unshed tears, “you know who I am, you know what I am… You know how this is going to end, how I’m going to end-“
“Stop” Zhongli interrupted “I will not hear a word of this. You deserve kindness, Ajax. You deserve a chance to live a normal life-“
“Nothing about this is normal” Childe murmured, “nothing about me is normal. My entire life has been one freak string of luck and if you’re looking for normal then I’m sorry but you picked the wrong person-“
Zhongli’s gaze was drawn to Childe’s hands, knotted in the white sheets, he watched as Childe fidgeted with his engagement ring, the ring sliding further and further down his finger as his shaking hands seemingly fought with his own mind about what he was even doing.
“Shh” Zhongli reached and took Childe’s left hand, gently flattening his palm and sliding Childe’s engagement ring back to its rightful place, “Baobei, look at me.”
Childe’s cobalt eyes, glassy and rimmed red with tears, met Zhongli’s steady, tawny gaze.
“I made a promise,” Zhongli said “to you, to myself, to Celestia itself, that you are who I am going to spend this life with. You, Baobei, wholly and utterly you, not the version of yourself that never went through your hardships that lives in your own mind.”
Childe hiccuped, fresh tears tracking down his face as his grip on Zhongli’s hand tightened.
“You are resilient, my love, not damaged, or broken. You have lived through things no one deserves to endure, that others could not endure, and yet you found your way to me.”
Zhongli pressed a soft kiss to Childe’s temple, feeling his beloved tremble slightly beneath his lips as the harbinger fought to breathe between shuddering, tearful breaths.
“I’m not going anywhere” Zhongli murmured against Childe’s skin, “I promise.”
Childe cried out as he threw his arms around Zhongli’s shoulders, burying his face in Zhongli’s neck and sobbing in earnest now. Zhongli held him steady, murmuring quiet nothings in Childe’s hair and wrapping both arms around his waist.
Zhongli had made peace with the fact that he could not go back and change the past. Archon that is was, it was a gift he still did not possess. Godhood, he found, was not ultimate power.
The future, however, he had decided, was his to mold as he wished. His ego had calmed with time, shifting from the War God Morax to Rex Lapis, the God of Contracts, before finally becoming Zhongli; the closest he had ever come to one of his mortal subjects. He had little want to transform the very earth and people upon it these days as he had in his youth.
Little, but not none.
As Childe clung, trembling, to his body across the cold metal of the hospital bed, Zhongli made another vow.
The “doctor”, would pay for what he did. The Tsaritsa herself would pay for her orders, and Zhongli would see it through as he lived his chosen life:
with his beloved at his side.

A Conversation
Neuvillette has a small favor to ask the Traveler
Tags: gender neutral reader/traveler, implied Zhongchi/Chili/Tartali if you squint, literally just a chill conversation, not beta read
Characters: Neuvillette, Traveler/Reader, Mentioned Wriothesley, Zhongli, Clorinde, Arlecchino, Paimon
~ can be read as xreader where reader is the traveler or as a gen fic~
Word Count: 1497
"Traveler, would you mind if I ask a favor of you?" Neuvillette said, seemingly out of nowhere. Seems he'd decided the next topic of conversation.
The traveler nodded, wondering if this was a Meropide type favor or an Increasing Danger type favor. "Sure, what is it?"
Neuvillette paused for a bit. He didn't quite know how to ask or where to start. He supposed the beginning would do. "You are friends with Childe, yes? I assumed so but from the way you talk about him.... I can't quite tell."
The traveler chuckled a bit. It is fair that someone like Neuvillette would have a hard time knowing for sure, what with how the traveler openly showed annoyance with him. "We're friends. He's a constant pain in my ass, but a welcome one. I choose to let him annoy me."
"I see."
Neuvillette took a moment to ponder the implications of your words along with the complexity of human relationships. He considered Wriothesley and the melusines who often stuck stickers in different places. It did annoy Wriothesley to peal the stickers off but he still cared for them and about them. Neuvillette supposed Wriothesley found it a bit endearing as well. He was certainly amused to hear about it. Perhaps that's what's happening between those two. Although to a more intense degree, it seems. But that was not the point of asking that.
"If it does so happen that you see him again before I do, please apologize on my behalf. For whatever reason, the Oratrice Mecanique D'analyse Cardinale falsely accused him of a crime and I had to subdue him, injuring him in the process. All because he was accused of a crime he did not commit. I do feel bad that such a thing happened."
The traveler looks at Neuvillette, the sincerety in his gaze almost comical. While there is an attempt not to laugh, a sound does escape the odd expression on their face. The noise causes Neuvillette to look over and promptly become perplexed by the sight.
"Traveler?"
"Pfffft- Okay, okay, sorry. There's no need to apologize. At all." It was clear the traveler was still holding back giggles.
"But-"
"Listen. It was Childe's own fault for attacking the Meka. To be fair, he'd come to Fontaine because he'd been a bad mood and wanted a little vacation. So, being falsely accused of a crime what started when he was no older than 10 and still in Snezhnaya probably wasn't the best thing for him. If I had to guess, that was the reason he decided he was going to do some thing as stupid as disrupt the court proceedings."
He nods along, frowning a bit. "I see. But I still don't understand how an apology is now warranted here," he says, looking over at his companion.
"Yeah, well, that's because you don't know Tartaglia. He's... strange. And to be honest, I doubt he's mad about it. I'd assume his first reaction upon regaining consciousness was 'Archons above, that Neuvillette guy is strong! Who knew the Chief Justice of Fontaine packed such a punch?! It's a shame I didn't get to have a real fight with him. Now that would've been worth my while.'"
Neuvillette looks straight ahead and blinks. Then he looks over at the traveler and blinks. The traveler is completely serious. This, along with the quality of the impression leaves the Iudex a bit more than a bit shocked.
"Really?"
"Really."
Huh. Neuvillette is rather stumped, once again looking straight ahead. He better understands why the traveler sees no need to apologize but he still thinks-
"Oh, and that's not all," the traveler says with a sigh.
"Oh?" The sigh stirred a bit of concern in the hydro dragon as he watch his companion's face.
"Yeah. I doubt he even saw it as a slight. He doesn't really dwell on small things." The traveler had considered the possibility of him reacting more similarly to the way he reacted with Zhongli, but chose not to mention that. "But, Childe being Childe, if you bring it up he probably won't say he forgives you unless you fight him for real. So, if you apologize to him, he'll use it as way to try and get a fight with you. You saw how he was perfectly fine with the trial if it meant he got to fight Clorinde, right?"
Oh. The Iudex's face scrunched up, looking at nothing in particular as he considered all the information. He had been there, when Childe requested to fight with the champion duelist amidst the trial. He'd also heard he'd gotten to spar with her prior. In that case, perhaps it was better to keep any apologies to himself. As the Chief Justice, even engaging in a friendly spar could be taken many different ways, let alone an all out fight. And he had no interesting in fighting the youngest Harbinger either.
The traveler could see the wheels turning in Neuvillette's head.
"Yeah, so like I said, best not to say anything at all. I was prepared to have to knock him down right then and if I did, the most I would've done is ensure he was okay and recovered properly afterwards. Which, he did by the way. I saw him the day before me and Paimon showed up with Arlecchino. He's doing just fine."
"Well that is good news. Thank you for the advice, and the explanation."
"No problem. Childe's a weird person. He's a little difficult to understand."
The conversation fell into a comfortable lull. Neither party was in a rush to find a new topic of conversation. Then, there was a snicker.
"Actually, if you really do want to apologize, I suppose there is another person you can talk to," the traveler said, amusement in their tone. "If it's that important to you."
The Iudex raised an eyebrow as he picked up on his companion's smile. "And who might that be?"
"Well, now that I think about it, I can pass an apology to his younger siblings, seeing as being locked up and all the other shenanigans probably delayed them getting to see him again," the traveler said, thinking out loud before turning to Neuvillette. "But, you could apologize to Zhongli."
"Excuse me?"
It did take a lot out Teyvat's Witness not to bust out laughing on the spot. But keeping it together for the sake of the bit was important.
"The two are very close friends and Zhongli would likely forgive you without telling the battle hungry freak. He'd probably also like to apologize for the ruckus Childe caused in the courtroom. I'm sure he's very disappointed. Sounds like a win-win to me."
Neuvillette looked at the traveler incredulously, an eye twitching. "You are expecting me to not only have a casual conversation with Deus Auri but to apologize to him? To-"
The traveler was laughing now, properly unable to hold back. Doubled over, arms wrapped around the stomach and everything, holding out a hand for Neuvillette to stop.
"I'm- Ahaha- I'm sorry, I'm sorry- ehehehehe-" One wheeze later and the traveler uprighted, standing straight still with one arm holding tight as the other wiped an almost-tear. "I'm sorry. Just a joke. Not serious. Sorry. I wasn't expecting you to take that so seriously."
Immediately disarmed, the Chief Justice relaxed. A small smile slipped onto his face watching the traveler's jubilance. Perhaps it was contagious. Or, perhaps he known all along deep down that it was a joke and simply played along.
"I'm glad to see you've not lost your sense, Traveler." "Haha. Yeah. Zhongli probably wouldn't like that either. I don't know if you noticed, but he just narrowly avoided you in Chenyu Vale."
Neuvillette raised and eyebrow. This was news to him. "Is that so?"
Nodding, the traveler finally calms down. "Yeah, seemed like an unfortunate coincidence to the others but me and Paimon realized it. Shame really, the two of you would get on well if not for the circumstances."
"I see. Well, it seems he has his best interests at heart. In any case, do pass along my sincerest apologies to his family, should you see them."
The traveler nodded. "Sure. You know, funny thing. The reason I know that's what he'd do is mainly because of Zhongli. Well, also because he's a battle hungry freak, but mainly because of what went down in Liyue."
"Really?"
"Yeah, he said the exact same thing about Zhongli after he found out that Zhongli's the Geo Archon. Told me he'd never forgive his lies unless they had a full on fight, no holding back. Of course, Zhongli's never gonna go for that but it doesn't really matter."
"He really does crave to fight the strong," Neuvillette mused.
"Yeah. You'd think he'd stop sparring with me when he loses every time and yet he assumes a spar will always be his birthday gift. What a bozo."
Neuvillette chuckles. "Yes, I suppose that is one way to put it."
Yet another natural lull. The traveler considered the start of root of the conversation. It seems it was more a Paimon type favor after all.
woahhhhh i wrote something for genshin. look at me go! this idea has been rolling around in my head for too too long now so I finally wrote this and got it out.
WAIT HOW DID THIS END UP ALMOST 1.5K WORDS??? WHAT??? I KNEW THIS WAS LONGER THAN INTENDED AT FIRST BUT DAMN
this will likely be editted and used for my genshin OC fic (The Traveler's Journal) it won't be the same because I purposefully wrote the traveler to be a bit close to i assume they'd be in game, rather than based on me like I do for TTJ. plus, no AAVE lol.
oh and for anyone who doesn't get it, it's a paimon type favor because the traveler to explain something so someone

I’m such a sucker for Office Job Aus but with Zhongchi specifically, I like to think that Zhongli doesn’t really like Childe, maybe not at first.
(cw: Implied age gap, boss/employee, dub-con)
Zhongli would be an esteemed contractor or something idk, and Childe a mere office assistant. Childe’s personality is a bit more juvenile compared to Zhongli, but he gets the job done so Zhongli keeps him around.
Given Childe’s personality, Zhongli doesn’t get along with him. He’s too…wild. Like an eager flame that’s so used to it’s own heat it doesn’t realize it can burn. Witty sarcasm and out of pocket jokes are just a part of his charm, as much as people may be put off by them.
Childe is polite, he can be, but Zhongli prefers someone with more tranquility…someone who doesn’t use their mouth as often as that sly ginger.
Playful banter is still a part of their work day, not that Zhongli initiates any of it. Childe likes to tease, and he can be a bit of a flirt, especially with his superior…which wasn’t much appreciated, not by Zhongli (or a small number of people who had eyes for the head contractor)
Maybe Childe would get bored one day…his dull office job wouldn’t do it for him. So he starts to humour office rivalries here and there, pay more attention to the people who don’t like him. And eventually, a couple of bitter comments. No big deal, right? Maybe things escalate..fights now, from glares and passive aggression here and there, to a dance of scathing insults. Eventually, most people in the office take issue with the simple assistant.
Zhongli can’t have this, obviously. A good office can’t run without order, so something must be done. He had scolded Childe a couple of times, and was on the verge of firing him (which was a shame because despite his attitude, he was a competent assistant). Nothing he did ever worked, and it almost seemed that sometimes, Childe was doing all this to get his attention. He wanted to find himself in Zhongli’s office, getting told off.
One day, maybe the office goes out for drinks, and Childe, in his drunken frenzy, comes onto Zhongli. Inappropriate touching at first, until Childe is basically propositioning him, asking the man to show him a good time.
As much as Zhongli isn’t appealed by Childe’s personality, he couldn’t deny the man was physically appealing. Softer skin…round eyes. His eyelashes almost made him look girly…
The cogs start turning in his head, and he realizes that he could use this to his advantage. Childe wanted him bad, like an animal in heat.
He takes Childe’s chin in between his fingers, delicately craning his head to face him, and tells Childe that he’ll fuck him, as long as he behaves in the workplace. If he’s a good boy at work, they can have all the sex he wants, today, tomorrow, for however long he wants. No fighting with his colleagues, no unnecessary drama.
Childe agrees before he could even think about it. They have sex that night, and then Childe comes to work the next day and he acts with more restraint, leaving Zhongli pleased. And when Childe is good, Zhongli fucks him.
Just a rough idea…I haven’t figured out anything beyond that o.O

work in progress. 18+ zhongchi
warning. non-con. will finish sometime. want zhongli to make a mess of childe.
Tumblr media
-
“That isn’t what I meant.” Zhongli interrupted in an exasperatingly patient tone. Brushing nonexistent lint from his immaculately pressed pants legs, he continued, “I do not understand how someone like you could have intercourse with a woman.”
Something popped loudly inside of Childe’s head. The corner of his eyebrow twitched violently. His strained smile grew even bigger as the urge to wrap his fingers around that bastard’s neck and find out how long it took for that composed expression to morph into one of terror clawed at his reasoning. What the fuck was this asshole implying? That hadn’t even been his intention in the first place but if it had been, Lumine’s legs would’ve been spread with a few whispered words. Sex wasn’t something that usually interested him. It was an unnecessarily messy, unpredictable act that led to more problems than it was worth, but he considered it a tool – same as his words and his fists. He’d gotten really good over the years at maneuvering himself into those kinds of positions and making sure that whoever his partner was remembered the pleasure over everything else.
He knew he shouldn’t be angry over an immature insult. The bastard was trying to get him to slip up, to dig this stupid hole even deeper. Still, something about the way this guy said that just rubbed him the wrong fucking way. Sex was a tool in his arsenal. Something he excelled at. He’d bristle at someone insulting his fighting skills so why shouldn’t he be furious that his skills in bed were being put into question? This bastard had already misunderstood the situation entirely, threatened to spread this misinformation and now was making snide comments about something he knew nothing about. Of course, he was going to be fucking angry.
Turning to face Zhongli head-on, glaring coldly at him from over a snarling grin, “You’re going to have to explain that one to me a little more. I’m afraid I still don’t understand what you’re getting at.”
Zhongli stared silently at him for a moment, his intense golden gaze unreadable then abruptly stood. A slender hand shot out, grabbing hold of Childe’s wrist. He was wrenched forward with startling strength. Not many people could get the drop on him like that, but Childe found himself staggering – stumbling forward against Zhongli’s bigger body. Their chests bumped together. Zhongli’s other arm snaked around his midsection, squeezing him in even closer. Warm breath washed over his ear and neck. The scent of herbal tea and ink flooded into his nostrils. A furious mix of emotions churned inside Childe’s belly. Heat rose to his head, swamping him with a shock of dizziness. His heart picked up a galloping rhythm, banging hard against the interior of his ribs.
That same strong hand quickly snatched hold of his other wrist. Zhongli yanked his arms down to pin his hands firmly to his lower back. With unnerving grace, almost like they were dancing, Zhongli pushed forward, maneuvering them around until Childe was pushed up against a nearby wall. Ear-ringing silence fell over the small room. Panting softly, perturbed by how hot his body had suddenly become, Childe wriggled fruitlessly in Zhongli’s hold. Perhaps it was the position he was ensnared in or maybe this bastard was inhumanly strong but no matter how much he struggled, he couldn’t budge an inch!
Laughing lightly, Childe, doing his best to hide how breathless he’d become, said, “My, my, what’s this, Mr. Zhongli? For someone acting so high and mighty before, you’re getting awful handsy with a subordinate. Maybe I should be the one telling on you for harassment.”
“You asked me to explain.” Zhongli’s low voice echoed up from the nape of his neck. A shiver raced down Childe’s spine, sending electrified pangs coiling through his limbs. He instinctively jerked his head away. “Did you not?”
“You really must have a screw loose, Mr. Zhongli.” Childe replied jeeringly. Fuck…fuck-! His heartbeat was racing out of control. It felt like it might plow straight out of his chest at any moment. Damnit, why couldn’t he just throw him off? Being this close to this asshole was making him feel weird. There was a white-hot flame raging in his core, radiating off a heat that could melt tungsten steel. His limbs felt all watery and tingly. This was different than the kind of reaction he had when he knew he was going up against a dangerous opponent. This Zhongli fella was something unlike anything he’d encountered before. As much as he wanted to continue the snarky route, he might have to be careful with this one.
“Sorry, but I don’t really care anymore.” Childe sighed dismissively, “Do what you want with that so called ‘evidence’. Lumine will tell the big boss that you’re misunderstanding this whole thing. Now, could you let me go so I can get back to wor-RRK!”
A warm, slender hand smoothed down his side to shamelessly grope at his backend. Zhongli’s long fingers cupped around the curvature of his ass, giving the plump cheek an ample squeeze. A veracious bolt of heat sizzled through Childe’s groin. His cock twitched rebelliously against his thigh. His teeth gnashed together in a furious smile. This bastard-! He really was playing with him – making a mockery of him! He was just going to walk away from this but no way in hell was he going to let this slide now.
Sucking in a deep breath through clenched teeth, Childe growled, “Mr. Zhongli, this really has gone far enough. I’ll have to ask you to let me go or I’ll-“
“Do you really think you can please a woman with a body this lewd?”
“…what?”
“You probably haven’t realized it yourself.” Zhongli continued to comment, his voice a low, smooth purr. He slipped a lean, muscular thigh between Childe’s legs, pressing it up against his clothed cock. Bursts of heat pierced through his belly. He only just barely managed to swallow down a gasp. His penis responded without hesitation, gleefully hardening in response to the insistent stimulation. Zhongli’s smell was, somehow, stronger now. They weren’t any closer than before but with every harried breath, that overwhelming scent filled him. His head swam. Sweat rolled down his face in fat droplets. His clothes were already becoming damp. Childe grinded his teeth together. What…what the hell was this? He wanted to kick Zhongli away, to punch him, bite him but he couldn’t find the strength to do any of those things.
Brushing the tip of his nose along the curve of Childe’s darkly flushed cheek, Zhongli murmured, “Or perhaps you have but you simply cannot admit it.”
“What’re you talking about, bastard?” Childe snarled breathlessly. He yanked hard on the fingers wrapped tight around his wrist but couldn’t dislodge them. Precum was leaking into his underwear, making the fabric soggy. There was a tension, an itchiness in his backend that was starting to grind on him, “Get off me. Now.”
“I knew it from the beginning. From the moment I first saw you.” Zhongli whispered into his ear. His words punched through the fog that was settling over Childe’s mind, becoming luminescent and unavoidable, “This body…this beautiful, lewd, obscene body…it’s made to be held.”
Zhongli’s long fingers slipped between his ass cheeks. The smooth pads pressed persistently to his hole, nearly dipping inside in their eagerness. This time, Childe couldn’t bite back the yelp that came bludgeoning out of him. His eyes widened to bulging circles. A tremor passed through his cock. With that one firm touch, he was fully hard. His cock rose insistently against the front of his pants. The tip rubbed irritably against the inside of his underwear. Shocks of stinging pleasure coursed through his muscles. Zhongli chuckled softly. His tongue slid out from between his smooth lips to press teasingly against the side of Childe’s neck. He dragged the wet muscle along his skin, leaving a trail of saliva that glistened in the artificial light.
“Sto-! Bastard,” Childe panted, frantically grappling for any sense of control but still shivering dramatically when Zhongli’s lips clamped down on the skin stretched over his hammering pulse, “what nonsense are you spewing? You really think I’d enjoy something like this? Sorry, but I’m just pent up. It’s been a while since I’ve been between the legs of a lovely lady. Someone like you could never get me going more than this. So why don’t you let me go before you embarrass yourself?”
“Sex with women is only a chore for you.” Zhongli said against his heated, sweat-dampened skin. “Methodical, mechanical – thoughtless, emotionless…lacking any satisfaction or real pleasure. You’ve never truly experienced what it is to be held.”
“Hah, what? You a shrink now?” Childe retorted coldly, “You don’t know a single thing about me.”
“I know everything.” Zhongli rasped, lifting his head to stare down at Childe with a burning golden gaze. “Everything that you’ve tried to hide. Everything that you’ve refused to acknowledge. I’ve seen the longing gazes, the reddening of your cheeks and the way your eyes sparkle. I’ve seen the desire, the blatant and shameless want that is constantly etched into your features.”
“Oh yeah, and what do I want?” Childe sneered, determinedly ignoring how vulnerable and bare that fathomless golden gaze made him feel.
The corner of Zhongli’s lips tilted up into the barest hint of a smile. His slender hand darted up to the swell of his hip. Deft fingers slipped underneath the waistband of Childe’s trousers, sweeping down further until they were right back to where they’d been outside of his clothes. Childe’s eyes widened. His mouth opened to issue a vehement protest but before he could make a sound, those slender digits were teasingly playing with his hole. They rubbed against him, first swirling around his entrance before stretching him open between two fingers.
“What do you want?” Zhongli cooed, leaning in to mouth a line of kisses along his blisteringly hot cheek, “You want to be fucked. To be held down and have this,” he pressed hard against his hole, nearly slipping his finger inside, “filled up…over and over and over again until that oh so convincing act you put on slips away and your free to express who you really are…a cock hungry slut who exists only to be held, to be loved.”
“You’re fucking crazy.” Childe panted raggedly. His hips swayed backwards, rubbing in turn against Zhongli’s fingers and his thigh. He was so hard that it was becoming painful. That itch that had only been mildly annoying before was now unbearable. It was hard to get enough air in. A mess of mush, fog and heat had taken over his head. He could hear each word that Zhongli was saying clearly but simply refused to acknowledge them beyond that dismissal. He was crazy. This whole thing was fucking crazy. He was going to get away from this bastard, knock him down several pegs then go and actually fuck Lumine until she passed out.
Zhongli chuckled quietly, “You would still deny it, even though your body is being so honest. Not to worry. I suspected…and hoped that this would happen for if it did-.”
Stepping back, Zhongli abruptly wrenched him forward then spun him around with dizzying speed. The wall greeted Childe’s chest as he was smooshed aggressively against it. Something velvety and soft was wrapped tight around his wrists, binding them in place to allow Zhongli to have both hands free. Warmth pressed snug to his back. A spasm of panic was quickly overwhelmed by a loud beat of excitement as Zhongli’s scent washed over him. Sucking in a sharp back, Childe tried to shove back, hoping to catch the bastard off balance but Zhongli held him quick, wrapping his lithe arms snugly around his trembling body.
“Then I could be the one to teach you.” Zhongli’s hot, slender hands smoothed down his sides to his waist. “This beautiful body…I’ll devour it over and over again until you understand.” He seized hold of his trousers, yanking them down swiftly to expose his groin and ass, “I will show you, Childe, just what this lewd body truly desires.”

the implication that one person's headcanon can ""make"" the entire character gay ????? wild but not in a good way. most of these characters are aro and ace spec to me but hell I still enjoy seeing varying headcanons. like characters are not a cumulation of everyone's fanon?? i can go and check out some nice romantic zhongchi and kavetham on this blog, sigh delightedly, and then turn around and think abt them with queerplatonic or platonic interactions or what have you. these guys are like putty to me and even if i have favorite ways to enjoy their characters that doesn't mean they're limited to that. :/ sorry you received a rude nonsensical anon in your inbox :(
its alright, their yapping went into one ear and left the other. im just amused they come yell at me as if that changes anything like oh no. this ask opened my eyes. suddenly i am not gay anymore. how could i ever make gay art i enjoy for myself.
i agree with you. i like to explore relationships when i see interesting dynamics, both platonic and romantic. hoyo is known for using certain tropes to imply shit that is open for everyone to interpret how they want. every interpretation is valid and i respect it. just bc i enjoy zhongxiao (as example) i dont yell at artists who hc them as family. i adjust my online experience to my comfort and i dont bother people who hc or enjoy stuff i dont. bc i know manners. some people should try that.

Do you really switch your ship tags for top/bottom stuff? That’s kinda disappointing
uh no i pick whichever name i think flows best/sounds funniest and stick with it. because i draw sfw art here and im not going to sit and meditate over what i think their private preferences are in each piece,,
im assuming this is related to my tags on the zhongli and childe comic, in which case i debated over which tag to use BECAUSE i know those shippers really take it seriously and even though i prefer how “zhongchi” rolls off the tongue, i really wanted to know the neutral ship name because im trying to avoid people assuming im implying certain “dynamics.” blah blah blah
unfortunately its “chili” which is clever and funny BUT spelled the same way as the food, which is why bennefischl and fischnett are still the best genshin ship names because they are puns AND uniquely spelled

LouZuo and YuKe endings (Book & Donghua)
So we have 5 endings in total for LouZuo pair. 3 from novel and 2 for donghua.
Main story ending - They go in their separate ways believing they will be reunited one day. ZYQ can't cultivate martial arts anymore and have no choice but to heavily rely on using poison like his father as the new Pangmen leader. Lou Zhu chose not to try the singularity to return to his world and can't do much but believe ZYQ can still be a hero despite everything. If ZYQ didn't, he promised to kill ZYQ.
LouZuo deleted ending extra - They reunited after 5 years. Lou Zhu was exchanging letters with him these past years. He consulted ZYQ about a poison's antidote so they reunited. Lou Zhu find it hard to read the expression of older ZYQ now while ZYQ thinks Lou Zhu didn't change his appearance much. He compare ZYQ to a little bird he wish to put in a cage but he decided to let it free. Lou Zhu wish ZYQ to be by his side but he don't want to destroy him so he value giving ZYQ the freedom he deserve. As long as he's alive, Lou Zhu is fine with that. They did the deed and decided to form a long distance relationship. ZYQ admit that he like Lou Zhu romantically but it meant he can't be together with Lou Zhu to protect him. Their relationship was compared to Cowherd and Weaver Girl story where the lovers will reunite once a year every Qixi festival and Magpie birds formed a bridge for them to meet.
Reverse Isekai extra - Official Alternate Universe. Lou Zhu died because of food poisoning so it was implied ZYQ killed himself to follow Lou Zhu. ZYQ decided to sent him to singularity together with their friends (LongQian, XieFan) who died the same way. They all transmigrated to modern setting (Lou Zhu's & Fan Aiguo's OG world) with their friends. LouZuo transmigrated as hobo but later hired by Actor Xie Liang to be his manager and guard. Fan Aiguo became a mosquito again but LongQian (transmigrated as police & medical officer) will help him find a decent body. Lou Zhu found out the accident that killed him in his first life was orchestrated by his nemesis and his friends helped him report the one responsible to authority by finding decisive evidence. It end with Lou Zhu visiting his murderer in prison and talk with him in form of interview as he thanked him how grateful he is to him.
IQIYI International Donghua ending - They go in their separated ways but will write letters to each other. ZYQ became a successful nutritionist who sell medicine as his business. His secretary told him there is someone who want to consult him but it was never revealed who it is.
IQIYI China Donghua ending - Lou Zhu is the one who want to consult ZYQ. He was seen waiting at the bridge. He describe the Pangmen's place is his ideal retirement home. They reunited after few years because ZYQ said its been a while since then. (Inspired by LouZuo deleted extra. Just change the poison to medicine.)
As for YuKe pair... 5 endings?
First timeline in main story - Li Ke poisoned himself because he refused to poison someone and let Prince Yu died with the emperor so Prince Yu was left behind and live alone for the rest of his life. He travel around mountains and seas just like what Li Ke wanted.
Main story ending - Li Ke was possessed by Zuo Dao via Liruo (The one they used for the crown prince in the donghua) to use him as hostage against Prince Yu and implied killing Prince Yu afterwards with the dagger while using Li Ke's body. Prince Yu originally ask Li Ke to kill him before Zuo Dao take over his body but he refused to do it. Tao Zhongchi told Li Ke the dagger is known for trapping souls in it. Li Ke knowing Prince Yu's soul is in the dagger travel around mountains and seas just like what they planned. It was revealed in the Chunfeng Ci Bi extra story that Prince Yu can talk to the dagger. He stated he will not leave the dagger alone and will accompany Li Ke, the new master of the dagger because his soul will be trapped in the dagger after he died implying Prince Yu already know he will die and made a plan.
IQIYI International donghua ending - Jiao Jiaoran use Li Ke as hostage against Prince Yu. Prince Yu then made Li Ke killed him with the dagger. After Li Ke found out his Prince Yu is in the dagger from ZYQ, he was overjoyed and believe there must be a way to revive him. He left and then travel with the dagger to take a look at the mountains and seas just like what they promised to each other while the war against Tuo Huang is still happening.
IQIYI China Donghua ending - Li Ke found out the news about the singularity that their soul can possibly return home or go to different world so he tried it with the dagger believing he will reunite with Prince Yu one day. (Obviously inspired by Reverse Isekai extra)
Cheng He Ti Tong's donghua first episode - They have a cameo appearance in modern world. YuKe are happily looking at the scenery in the train's window while travelling. This is considered as the true ending because the You Yao donghua and this donghua have the same animation team.
The novel ending might be bittersweet but I find it poetic in a beautiful sense. While the donghua is a happy ending as a gift to the fans who want a more clear happy ending.

Childe X Abysal!Monster Imposter Reader
DARK CONTENT
Warnings: Gore, cult themes, blood, death, suggestive themes(this needs some explanation), asphyxiation, unnatural movement, implied ZhongChi
Explanation: Reader, a monster feels intense inhuman emotions this comes out as arousal as a human. Depicting death/parasitism as sex.
WARNING DO NOT READ IF UNCOMFORTABLE
He hooked you. The sent of home clung into his form. It had been a while since you were exposed to abysal energy, minus the abyss mages that irritate you with their garbish ways, what you wanted was a piece of… you, a piece of home. Being a creature made of nothing but pure energy of the abyss, of hatrid, love and possesion, strong emotions the abyss absorbed and created into physical form, that was you. You couldnt return 'home', you were stuck in a mortals body the moment the human tried to make contact with you and now you could no longer leave that mortals body and go back into the abyss so the scent of 'home' naturally drove you mad and the ginger infront of your mortal eyes drowned in it, his being must have been exposed to the abyss and absorbed its influence to become the mouth watering being he seemed.
You stood in Liyue Harbour, your vessles home was in this city and you knew you needed to immitate their past life as much as possible to stay away from detection as an imposter. For a while you gathered that 'you' worked at the docks as an angler, fishing and selling at the pier, 'you' lived in a small house near the docks and had very little close companions. What was interesting when you first explored your hosts house was the variety of cult like items scattered on the walls, ancient texts and bloody instruments. Hmm, there were some weridos living amongst the humans, perhaps your host had fiddled around and ended up exposed to the abyss where you met and involuntarily took their body from them.
That was how you stood near the town central looking directly at the ginger 'fatui harbinger' (a title you assumed must have some important meaning to) as folk called him. Next to him stood Zhongli, a man you knew you should stay away from for reasons unknown. That was the tricky part. You wanted to surround the ginger called 'Childe' or 'Tartaglia' and absorb him fully, you wanted to feel his mortal skin on you unlike you had with your vessle. You wanted to understand these feelings of love hate and possesion that made up your existance. You could feel your physical form was reacting to your thoughts, something wet developing. Whatever that display was it didnt concern you what you needed because right now you desired only to find a way to be alone with the ginger and consume him and the enegry the brewed in.
"We should leave" Zhongli spoke, slighly nudging Childe to the opposite direction from you, he looked at you with concern on his face before turning back and continuing their conversation.
The dark of night drowned Liyue, now 'Childe' should be seperated from the being 'Zhongli'. You followed the scent you could never mistake, it was thick and intoxicating and made you violently thrash forward in a clumsy manner in the human vessel.
You find yourself near an inn outside the busy central of Liyue. It seemed rather lavish with neat garden and strong brick walls. You see a window slightly open, no doubt to let fresh air into the house. Liyue could get very warm, you were not used to it at first and nearly died the first time the teperature rose even slightly. Heat was a weird thing you never expected to experience.
You stood at the window and pushed as hard as your mortal hands could, ignoring the sensation of 'pain' your body felt at the strain to lift up the window that begrudgingly moved slightly until there was a moderate gap to get in thorough. The size wasnt exactly enough to get through normally but none the less you turned to your side, bent your limbs unnaturally and folded yourself thorough until you were in.
Being confined in a small room allowed the smell of the abyss to concentrate. It assulted your mind and made 'your' body huff violently. You stumbled along the halls, eyes unfocused and only looking to the direction the smell came from till it opened up to a small room equipped with a large bed and cupboard space. There slept 'Childe', your intoxication. You had never seen a human still in sleep before, infact you never experienced sleep. You just kept moving the body until it collapsed, it took a few days to understand you needed to 'eat' and 'rest' to be active which limited you.
Childe seemed so appetizing, better than any human food you had seen or eaten. He stirred slighly as you crept onto the bed, crawling along his legs and torso until your face was right against his, watching intently at the small twitches of his skin.
You wanted to get out of this shell, you wanted to feel him with your true matter. The smell of the abyss was so tempting, you violently thrashed in the body to get out and feel it.
In the mess Childe woke up, suddenly on guard as a he saw the random person twitching like they had a seizure on top of him. He immediatly threw you to the side, rolled out of the bed and grabbed a blade, in almost an intant the blade pegged you thorough the stomach and pinned you into the wall where you continued to fight to get out. Human blood soaked your stomach and more drentched your arms as they unnaturally bent, bone breaking and stabbing thorough skin. 'Your' legs slammed themselves into the wall, blood smeering onto it as your neck cocked side to side no doubt leading to a broken spine but you continued to fight back.
Tartaglia stood stunned. How else would a person react to seeing another do this to themself (other than the blade in the stomach, he did that). A human should be dead yet you continued to thrash, it was extreamly unsettling. Childe put it on himself to end this, to cave your skull in, that should truly kill a person and stop them moving.  Childe got closer to you, his second blade in hand and readied to smash the hilt into your cranium.
Light. Hope. Despair. Darkness. You could finally taste it, you finally escaped the human vessel.
Childes hands suddenly got swamped in black mass after crushing the skull. The mass continued to feed up him, he couldnt shake it off as desperate as he tried. Fear spread in him which just added to the smell of the abyss in the air. You surrounded him, pure relief made you release an unearthly sound, you no doubtly knew if you were still in that human shell you would have released like humans do. Childe began to choke on your mass, desperately trying to make space to breath but it was all in vain as he couldnt grasp onto you. You fulled his every hole, giving him your kiss as you thanked him graciously for allowing you to feel at home again. Childes movements began to slacken, limbs unable to stand as he crashed to the ground and could no longer fight back. In those last moments Childe felt the embrace of the abyss he had wished to forget, that simliar experience he had so long ago however this time it was more… of a sweet caress then violent assult.
Zhongli knew something was wrong. Childe hadnt met up with him the days to follow, he hadnt even been seen or reported by his fatui men. Zhongli paced the streets of Liyue in search for his friend when finally he came across the ginger however, only death was in his eyes one unlike the voidless eyes Childe once held now they seemed truly dead. 'Childe' smiled at his friend and walked away. Walking to the next closest feeling of home 'he' could feel.
Zhongli knew, he needed to get rid of the abomination that had taken his friend, his lover, away from him.
